Help understanding minimum processor requirements for recording software

Q: Help understanding minimum processor requirements for recording software

I want to buy a laptop to run professional recording software. The minimum requirement is an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.67GHz. Can I use a quad core with less speed. What are my options?

Thanks

Preferred Solution: Help understanding minimum processor requirements for recording software

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Is there a trial version of the software for you to test on your current system?

Hi lksh,
Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.
Please check the windows 7 version you have installed, whether it is a (32bit or a 64bit) OS. There are drivers available only for the 64bit version, also check the system specifications to install the right drivers using the below links.

I have an old box currently running xp pro sp3. it's quite old and low on specs. the cpu is ok but it runs old sd-ram and i've maxed it out with 2 512mb sticks. HDD space is no problem. I want to run 7127 on it. realistically how well do people think it'll run. i'll turn off aero and any other unnecessary services. it needs to connect to the internet, run office 2007, msn messenger, rip/burn music, basic photo editing and not much more (definately no video editing but maybe be able to watch dvds).

i would like opinions please as i know that this meets the required minimal specs but i'm worried it perform "in the real world"

I installed Win7 Beta back in January on an Intel pent III 600mhz w 512mb ram . It works but real slow like a win98 on a 233mhz computer. I can access the internet & my other networked computers okay

Was looking on play.com for GTA4 and found the minimum requirements:

Windows XP with SP3 / Vista with SP1
1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4GHz AMD Athlon X2 64 or equivalent
1GB RAM (1.5GB for Vista)
16GB HDD Space
256MB nVidia 7900, ATi X1900 or equivalent
DVD-ROM Drive
Internet connection required for installation and online play

They seem pretty steep for minimum, more of a recommended. Especially the graphic cards, the 7900 is still quite a high end DX9 card.

7900 is a 4 generation old graphics card. If you're running a graphics card that low you probably already experianced GTA4 on xbox360/ps3 the way it will look with that GPU. I could be wrong but I would not be inclined to say a 7900 with be maxing out the game. Hopefully thats the minimum and reccomended is at least only 3 generations ago. I want it to look ALOT better than the console versions.

When a software program states it requires a minimum of 1GB to operate well, does that [I]include[I] the RAM needed to run the operating system? For example, if I'm running a machine with 2GB of RAM, and the program requires at least 1GB, do I therefore need at least 3GB of RAM?

A:minimum requirements

All software, when run, resides in RAM. Most apps and games specify the minimum amount of RAM you need to install them and run. This amount includes RAM that the computer needs to do its own background work as well as to run the app. So if a program says it needs minimum 1gb to operate, it'll run fine on a system with 2gb. However, I would also pay attention to the "recommended" memory which would be the RAM required for optimal performance of the program.

Generally speaking, memory requirements are specified taking into account the requirements of the application, operating system, supporting software and files, and other running processes.

A game called space engineers requires me to have intel HD graphics 4000 minimum. My processor is a 2500. I do not want to buy another processor (I found one for $130 on newegg) just to make it work. I build my computer March of 2013.

current model: i3-3220
Intel Core i3-3220 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz LGA 1155 55W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2500 BX80637i33220 - Newegg.com

possible upgrade (should got this one to start with): i3-3225

I have a Sandy bridge  Intel i5 processor with plenty of ram ,  just wondering if upgrading from Win 7 SP1 64 bit to Win 8.1 or Win 10 is worthwhile.

A:I wonder what will be the minimum requirements to run it .

You have ample power to do so.
I find that some of the processors that are below the Intel i3 processors, can have a bit of difficulty, in that they might hesitate here and there, but an i5 is the bomb and it can run just about anything.

Officially speaking, MSC says that these are the minimum requirements for 8.

Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2 (more info)
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

Those specs are ridiculously low, as 20 gigs of hard drive is way too little for even the most bare naked standard installations, once you start using it, and 1 gig of ram is just as bad. It'll run on 2, buit it'll run a lot better with 4 gigs.
As for the processor, you can look for any CPU that scores over 2,000 on the Passmark CPU page, and you'll have ample power to handle any Windows system.

Hi,

Everything about my computer is good and fast to run Vista, except for my graphics card. I did an ATI Vista check and it says that my graphics card fails to meet minimum requirements because I have Pixel Shader 1.4 and I need 2.0 as a minimum.

Does this mean that I can't run Vista at all, even though I have Pentium 4 3.0 GHz, 1gb RAM etc....?

Also one more question about Windows ReadyBoost. If I connect my USB flash drive, will it act as fast as RAM on the motherboard?

Thanks for your help.

A:Vista Minimum Requirements

It will run but some graphics functions may not work (Aeroglas). ReadyBoost is claimed to boost Vista performance, but no it will not be as fast as system RAM.

I was just wondering what does quot Minimum Requirements what does Games -- this Minimum for Requirements mean? quot mean exactly Minimum Requirements for Games -- what does this mean? I know what it means but I don t think that I completely understand it Does it mean that if you have the bare minimum requirements for the game that the game will play but not exactly the way you might expect or does it mean that the game will play ok but it just won t have all the special effects etc that it could if you had the recommended requirements I m referring to GTA because that s where I had the problem The minimum reqs for GTA are a MHZ processor MB of RAM a MB video card etc Now I have a MHZ celeron MB Ram and no video card onboard video And GTA still plays very slowly I thought that since I have all this RAM and my processor is a little faster than the minimum requirements that it should play fine So is this how it s supposed to play nbsp

A:Minimum Requirements for Games -- what does this mean?

You do have a video card if it is on the motherboard. It is probably still slow because you do not have 16MB of memory on your video for one thing. The requirements are "minimum" and there are normally a prefered configuration listed on the game as well or optimal game play.

Am I correct in assuming that all you need to test mobo functionality is HD, CPU, RAM, Video, and power? If the mobo is good, shouldn't it boot with just these components present. I am trying to verify if a laptop mobo is bad and I have eliminated HD, CPU, Video card, and RAM as the problem. Isn't mobo failure the only thing left?

A:Minimum requirements for testing mobo?

You don't need to have a HD connected to see if it will boot. Sounds like the mobo is the problem if you've verified the only parts.

I recently bought the HP Officejet 6210xi all-in-one. When I try to install the CD that came with it on my desktop I get a message saying the minimum required processor speed is 233 mhz, current processor speed is 232 mhz.

I have a Pentium II 233 mhz processor running W2K. I know itís really old. I have a wireless LAN setup with a newer laptop running WXP. But, Iíd like to install the all-in-one on my desktop rather that on my laptop. When I called HP tech support they said they canít help. That I would have to install it on another PC.

First, why does the printer detect my processor speed as 232 when itís really 233.
Second, is there a work around?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm considering upgrading from XP (SP 3) to Windows 7. Read the requirements and seem to meet them all except I'm not sure about the graphics. Computer is just shy of five years old. It has Pentium CPU @ 3 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 260+ GB of free hd space. Graphics card is GeForce 7300 LE, DirectX ver 9.0c. Don't know how to tell if driver is WDDM 1.0 or higher.

Two questions:
1) How can I tell if my graphics card/driver meet or exceed the minimum? and
2) If so, is this upgrade advisable, given the age of my system?

Can't help wondering how much longer Microsoft will continue to support XP and how much longer new software will run on it...

Would appreciate feedback...

I've read a dozen threads that say "just don't use the installer". Problem is, CP does not see my wireless network adapter, it's not there at all. It's there in DP, and in win7, and in vista. So I cannot do a fresh install, if I have any hope of having it work on CP, and I'm not even sure that will work. I can't do an "upgrade" when booting from the win8 cd, it says restart and use the installer, when i try to upgrade from both win7 and DP. As it's only 800mhz, I need to find a way to bypass the system requirements, but I can't figure out how. I'm hoping someone else has, since it's my only way.

Thanks.

A:Installing with the installer and less than the minimum requirements

Firstly, you need to use the Release Preview, as that will probably get your wireless adapter working. I had the same thing with the CP, my new adapter didn't work and I couldn't use the metro IE 10 and had to use 7 to get it working. The Release Preview had it going like it was a native device, very impeccable!

Also, could you share your PCs specs? As in, is it a desktop, netbook, or a laptop. And when you boot from the CD, can you specify step by step what you do and what happens? Help me to help you.

I wouldn't fret too much about the 800 MHz processor and not meeting spec. I would worry if you don't have the appropriate screen resolution to use the metro apps. I once installed Windows 7 in a Virtual Machine running at 800 MHz using a single core, 128 MB of RAM, 8 MB of Video RAM, 8 gigs of hard drive space and everything ran fine, even the Aero transparency. Windows is a very adaptable piece of software, the system requirements are there so new PCs can deliver a consistent user experience.

Dear All,

I hope this is the correct forum to ask this question - if not can a Mod move it to the appropriate place?

I have fixed a colleague's laptop. It was running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with 1Gb memory and I gather that it prefers at least 2Gb.

Given that it is running with 1Gb (which I guess is the minimum), what is the recommended amount of memory for a Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installation?

Thanks in advance

A:this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing...

There are two sets of drivers available at the link that you provide: one for machines with only the Intel graphics, the other for systems with switchable Intel/AMD graphics. You'd lose a lot of graphics performance if you had a switchable system and only had the Intel drivers installed.

I see no clear indication on the page as to which machines have the switchable package.

If you know that you have the switchable graphics option, I suggest uninstalling the Intel graphics drivers, and installing the AMD package (which is also supposed to include Intel drivers).

I have no personal experience with switchable graphics, so I haven't faced that issue. I don't know how to tell for sure whether the AMD controller is present. (Device manager?) Let us know whether it works out.

I wanted to know your thoughts on laptops. I need to research a laptop, and one guy had told me that the really expensive ones are unnecessary, but the cheap ones not good. But that doesn't help me too much in selection.

What are the minimum requirements you would want in a laptop? The uses are home use... running this software: http://www.berninausa.com/product_overview-n6-sUS.html

And Windows XP or Vista... whatever comes with it, I guess. Oh... and it will be used to hold digital photos and run an edition software. It needs to have a disc drive.

I was just wondering what minimum requirements you would recommend.

Hi

I'm new to the forum and would like to know what minimum system requirements would ideally be required to upload digital camcorder footage to a pc, edit using a software package and then burn onto DVD.

Thanks!!

A:Minimum System Requirements For Video Editing/burning

Hi there MightyMing if you want to do some good video editing and stuff the best stuff to get would probably be a Pentium 4 processor and good 1 or 2 gigs of ram and good video card such as All-in-Wonder 2006 Edition or the NVIDIA GeForce 6800 both of these run on the new PCI Express port on the motherboard so make sure you have the right motherboard. And if you want to look like a real professional get the USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor. And I highly suggest a TV Tuner.

Hope this helps

P.S. Don't forget a DVD burner

i have installed win vista in my system last month, it was really fantastic, the 3d capabilities are awesome. I just want to whether the current requirements of my system is enough to run the aero glass feature.

My configuration
Pentium IV processor
256 Mb ram
160gb hdd
can anyone give me guidanace for it

A:What are the minimum system requirements to run Vista's Aero Glass feature?

Looking at your current spec, that's pushing it a bit for min. spec to run Vista - for Home Basic (no Aero Glass) you're looking at 512MB, Home Premium 1GB on the RAM front. What graphics card do you have? If it's onboard, go out and buy a graphics card with at least 128MB of RAM. Once you've upped your RAM, you'll notice a considerable performance increase!

I used my service tag in "I'm looking for drivers and downloads" and filter which is compatible under Windows XP. but when i downloaded the file and run, its always encountering "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". I've checked my OS and its updated. Why ?
I tried also to choose a model which is similar to my Inspiron Desktop 530 and download the video controller, unfornatunately no match and compatible on my video. Anyone can help me on this?
Thanks in advance,
Day

A:My Computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the video controller

What is the actual video driver file you downloaded? Did your 530 come with XP or did you install XP yourself?  If your 530 came with Vista, for example, then the Dell download listing based on your sevice tag will have Vista drivers.   Also what video is installed in your 530.  If you don't know, download the free Belarc Advisor and run that and it will list what Video you have.   www.belarc.com

I understand the point of a "maximum processor state." You can lower it to restrict the CPU and gain battery life. The CPU consumes less energy and the fans consume less energy from a cooler thermal load.

I've never really understood the need for a "minimum processor state" though or what it even does for that matter.

Anyone?

A:Minimum Processor State

Say that you're doing something long and intense with the system - and want to leave the computer but continue to process it at a reasonable speed.

Then the power settings won't lower the state below that specified level - so you can keep processing at a certain level even with the power settings turned on.

Hello everyone First post here first things first Hi Secondly I'm experiencing an issue with my laptop running Home Premium My model make is NV U Gateway and I am experiencing some pretty annoying issues Anyways I am hearing quot cpu whine quot or more correctly toroidal coils which are vibrating very rapidly causing interference with the speakers My question is this Whenever my processor goes Processor Minimum State into the sleep state with no jobs that's Minimum Processor State when the computer whines however when the processor is Minimum Processor State actually doing Minimum Processor State something the whine goes away entirely I looked online and found solutions regarding rmclock but I'd prefer finding some more natural solution I went into the power management and found quot Minimum Processor State quot which I believe should fix my problem since it will keep the processor at a higher clock No dice After looking at the cpu utilization it seems as if the cpu completely ignores this minimum processor state setting and lets the cpu go to anyways Is there a known bug with that allows this Can one of you confirm that the cpu simply goes to zero despite any setting you enter Thanks for your help and please let me know if I should provide you with anymore information Yes I've updated drivers windows updates

A:Minimum Processor State

The Minimum Processors State only controls the clock speed, reducing it to use less power and create less heat. It does not keep the processor working at 100% utilization if there is nothing to work on.

For those that use the Asus P4C800-E Deluxe I am hoping that you would be able to explain something a little more plain than what Asus is with the information they are providing.

On their web site the overview of the P4C800-E Deluxe states:
Leveraging the Intel 875P chipset to support 3.2 GHz+ P4 CPU on 800MHz FSB. The way I decipher that is that it will support a 3.2GHz or larger processor.

But yet in the specifications for the P4C800-E Deluxe they state: Socket 478 for Intel Pentium 4/ Celeron up to 3.2 GHz+ . The way I decipher that is it will support a processor up to 3.2 GHz and beyond.

Adding to this confusion, I found no where did Asus state what the slowest processor is that this Mobo will support.

Could someone that has the manual that came with the Mobo decipher what they are stating.

A:CPU Minimum Processor State useful on a desktop?

On a desktop you want as much performance as you can get. So things like setting the power profile to high performance, same applies to CPU, you want that to be on maximum performance all the time.

Hello

Recently updated my MSI Bios to latest version and one thing i realised was the CPU fan getting loud. So i went to Power Options in Windows 7 and wanted to adjust the Minimum Processor State and Maximum Processor State.

But when I am in the Power Management part, all I see is the Cooling Policy (Passive or Active). Previously there were 2 other options showing Minimum Processor State and Maximum Processor State. Now they are gone.

I'm not too sure what could have disabled or removed them.

Any clue or technical enlightenment will be appreciated!

thanks!

It sounds as if the BIOS update may have cut out those options from the setup utility.

That doesn't mean they're gone; perhaps they're combined with another setting.

With the processor I see they vary in ghz. I wanted to know if a processor is dual core and is labeled as 1.8 ghz is it really 3.6ghz because its dual core or is it 1.8ghz. And can someone briefly explain ghz in processors. Thanks.

A:Understanding of a processor ghz's

The SI unit Hertz (Hz) stands for Cycles Per Second. A gigahertz is 1,000,000,000 cycles per second.
GHz in CPU speed can be very misleading. For instance, a 3.8GHz Pentium 4 is not better than a 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo. However, they are useful for comparing processors as long as you stay within the same family. A processor family being model names (Core 2 Duo, Athlon 64, Athlon X2, Pentium, ect.).
It doesn't quite make sense to just double the speed on Dual Core processors since they operate in more of a parallel mode than a sequential mode, or, in other words, they do things simultaniously instead of one after the other.
In short, the clock speed (Ghz) of a processor doesn't really mean a thing anymore.

I've purchased a Radeon HD 5450 graphics card for my desktop PC. It currently has a 220W PSU. Now, the Radeon packaging and manual suggests a minimum power supply of 400W. Research from reliable sources indicates that the card only uses 19.1W, however, so is upgrading my PSU 180+ W really worth it for a card that only draws 19.1W during typical use?

Also, if the card really does need a 400W PSU, what would happen if I were to run it on a lower-end PSU? Would I just not reap all the benefits of the card, or could the card / my system be possibly damaged?

Thanks for the help.

I have Windows Vista Home Premium bit and an AMD X Dual-Core QL- processor GHz In Vista Power options there are settings under Processor Power Management Minimum and Maximum Processor State What are the optimal settings for these options I fully understand that one "Optimal" and Maximum Setting Processor Minimum State might choose to have a lower maximum state when running on battery power to prolong battery life I can think Minimum and Maximum Processor State "Optimal" Setting of no reason to have the maximum state below when running plugged-in unless of course one is trying to save electricity keep the laptop cooler How does minimum state work and what is the optimal setting I know the default is but I've done a lot of Googling and cannot find an educated reason why is the default Would it be correct for me to presume that if I set it at say then the processor will never operate below of its capability or whatever of MHz is closest to capacity and will run all the way to the maximum specified state where needed In other words am I simply giving the processor the leverage to pick whatever power is required between its minimum and maximum specified states If my above assumption is correct and the processor will pick the optimum speed within the min max range why would I ever increase the minimum above - and better still why wouldn't I go right down to Having said that I read in one post that processors don't run in relative percentages - but Mhz Mhz or whatever - so if my processor can only go as low as say MHz and my max is then I guess if I set my minimum anywhere between and it would never go below Mhz Thanks in advance for any help Dave

A:Minimum and Maximum Processor State "Optimal" Setting

Hello Dave,

It's just basically a way to save energy in both the "Battey" and "Plugged in" states of your laptop by setting a "Minimum" and "Maximum" percentage of what your CPU can run at. Windows 7 will automatically keep your CPU running at "Minimum" when the computer is idle. Windows 7 will also automatically increase the CPU's percentage to handle any workload as needed up to "Maximum", and then automatically lower the percentage (no less then "Minimum") as the workload decreases or finishes.

Here are some recommended settings, but it really depends on your needs and wants.

Plugged in: 5% MIN & 100% MAX
Battery: 1% MIN & 100% MAX (or lower MAX to save more battery, but slower performance under heavy workloads)

Hope this helps,
Shawn

A:Looking for a software that can verify specific requirements

Ideally, your candidate should know if their computer meets the requirements or not. I don't know of a software that does both video conferencing and also checks your system status, but you can have the applicant go to sites like the one below and have them copy/paste the report (note: I've never used this site so use with caution).

My Computer Details | System Information | My Sys Info

Also, theoretically, the software won't run on their computer if it doesn't meet the requirements. Same with the video/audio, although that's likely to just be choppy and just horrible quality and not just fail the connection.

A:Can i run a home recording studio on Hp a4313w Sempron (tm) Le-1250 2.2 ghz 3.00gb ram with singlecore processor

You will be able to do it, but you won't be able to do anything very adventurous. A 2.2GHz Sempron barely squeaks in over the minimum specification for FL10 and the single core will quickly get flustered if a lot starts happening. That will limit number of tracks, use of effects and instruments.

Current suggestion for ideal balance of performance against cost is i7-2600K or i5-2500K and 8G of RAM they suggest is enough (but even 4G is enough for most people):

http://support.image-line.com/knowledgebase/base.php?id=55&ans=214

Well anyway you go the quality is going to be sub-par unless you have video conferencing with good connections like DSL.

Just use Sound Recorder to record the mic noise and the speaker output (the guy talking to you). Save the wave and convert to an mp3 (a program such as Audiograbber can do this for you).

What bug are you getting in Camstudio? I had it work fine, aside from an unrelated Mic volume problem (which I have posted in the Audio forum to hopefully find a fix for).

I tried Camtasia, which is what I used on my old XP Pro system, but I couldn't get the actual screen recording portion to launch. The editing, title creation, and audio recording portions all worked fine. Maybe the newer version fixed it, though. I am buying a new computer that comes with an LG combo DVD writer - DVD-GSA-4040B/OEM. The software that will come with it, according to the LG site is BHA recording software. Has anyone heard of this? I use Nero for Cds. I can use it for DVDs as well, I think. Should I just not bother installing the BHA software or is it required for the DVD writer to work?

Thanks very much!!!!

What I would do is install the software that comes with the drive. That way you can experiment to find out which works better. Use that, and get rid of the other later. What ever you do update the software and drivers of both programs immediately.

Hello there, I was curious as to which recording software would be the best to record gameplays? I am currently getting 60 FPS while recording Minecraft with Fraps. However, if I don't record I usually get 120 FPS. Any suggestions as to how to improve my FPS or is there a better recording software?

Anyways, here are my specs:

Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 970 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Hard Drive: 629 GB
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120830-0333)
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6670

hey,
i've got a bunch of webcams that i don't use frequently, but would like to use them as security device around the home. unfortunately, i don't have software to do this. i would like to be able to cut to different cameras "at will", just like in a video recording studio, say the one we have at church where we can preview a camera shot, then cut or fade to it when we want. I have hooked up my laptop to a CRT Monitor and set it as a extended desktop.
thanks

I am trying to install the Personal Call Logger from Digital Logger on a Windows 7 enabled laptop. The directions say to choose "AK5371 MIC" from the recording device list. Even after I show the "disabled devices" AK5371 is not listed. The software is picking up every sound from the general mic in the laptop. The AK5371 MIC is supposed to be a default device in Windows?? PLEASE HELP.

Hey there!

You guys are so helpful, I thought I'd run this recurrent problem by you as well, because I've yet to find a solution for it, and it's been plaguing me for over a year!

Every time I start Windows I get the following popup in the system tray:

"Device or application disabled - CD Recording Software will cause Windows to become unstable. Windows has prevented these drivers from loading. Click here for more details."

I think it's either Nero or EZ CD Creator causing the problem, but I don't have the CD for either of them anymore and I've been unable to repair or uninstall or anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... thank you!!!

Hi everyone
I'm looking for a software (either free or paid preferably free) that could record a program (what it's doing)and save it in a video format (MPEG,AVI,etc.)
I already found FRAPS which can record up to 30 sec.s only (Paid version has unlimited time)
FRAPS can record Game play and is quite an excellent software I have found.
But do you have any other suggestions on other softwares that I can try out?
Thanks in advance

I?m running Windows 7 64 Bit.

I have audio recording softwear, the instructions are:

1. Ensure ?SOFTWEAR? is running.
2. Click Start -> Control Panel.
3. Open Sounds and Audio Devices.
4. Select the Audio tab
5. Ensure that the default device for Sound playback is set to ?Softwearr? Recorder.
6. Close the control panel.

Can someone please tell me how to accomplish this using Windows 7? I don?t see an audio tab or sound playback option.

In addition can I easily switch back to my default settings after I finish recording and if so how?

Thanks for any help.

Now my question is, which software would I need to start recording the music that I play on the keyboard? Just any good software which can record and save in a familiar format like MP3 or WAV? Thank you

i like to record myself playing BF3, but it is very difficult to doso because of quality, fraps slows to 5fps, though i have friends with lesser riggs than mine who record crisp...

i have have been recording with afterburner, but it slows down the recording if it is interfiering with gameplay, problem, its blurry, and after bout 5 min it will drop from full 30-40 fps, whatever i set rcrd speed at, down to 5fps, the 30, then 20, then 5 again, all in a matter of several seconds, and will repeat for the duration. also the recordings colors are off ever so slightly.

if anyone knows of a recorder i may try that may fix these problems im having, id appreciate it.

A:Screen Recording Software Help

Have you tried Camstudio with either the Camstudio Lossless codec (if you can get it to install as I have had issues with it) or using the Inno Screen Capture Codec (my personal favourite). Recorder and lossless codec availible here CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software and Inno codec availible here: iSCC (inno Screen Capture Codec) - Download.com. Adjust the recorder priority as well as that can help

Hi Guys, I know I have been away from these forums for months, but once again, I have a new problem.

I am using the program Bandicam to record, I recorded a video however the .avi file will not play but the other recordings will. The corrupted .avi is the most important.

Any suggestions or would you need the .avi? It is 1.13GB.

Is there a good 3rd party app to use that is good for recording screen (tutorial or games) that records and you DON'T have to upload,

Currently I am using EZVID, its ok but I would like something where I can record and make my own video rather then upload it to youtube then save the file.

I was told programs like Banditcam works how i want it too, but I don't plan on streaming

I know there is a utility that has been mentioned on the forums for downloading stuff from You Tube but I can't recall what it is. But if you do a google search you will get a couple thousand hits.

YouTube even has a video posted on how to do it. How ironic.
