I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Mine were updated hours ago, you just can't beat GFE for this sort of thing (or for game display settings optimisation as far as I'm concerned, it works for me).

Sorry if this is off-topic, but I have been using Wagnard's DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) for years now to do actual 'clean' installs of the Nvidia drivers each and every update and life has been much happier. Great especially if a new release screws up and you want to cleanly go back to the previous driver. Much more thorough than picking 'clean' install from the nvidia installer tool, and safer than letting than letting some generalized registry cleaner at your registry.

It was the goto solution for the many people who could not get Fallout 4 running on release day. It won't work in every single case, of course, but nothing is guaranteed.

If you want to check it out (it's free and highly regarded by gamers) he posts new builds in his forum at: Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) Download & Support - Wagnardmobile Forum

You'll also find it on various download sites but I get mine direct from his forum for safety.

Here's his description of what DDU is and does:

"What is Display Driver Uninstaller?
Display Driver Uninstaller is a driver removal utility that can help you completely remove AMD/NVIDIA/Intel graphics card drivers and packages from your system, without leaving leftovers behind (including registry keys, folders and files, and the driver store).

The AMD/NVIDIA/Intel video drivers can normally be uninstalled from the Windows Control panel, this driver uninstaller program was designed to be used in cases where the standard driver uninstall fails, or whenever you need to thoroughly delete Intel, nVidia or ATI/AMD video card drivers.

The current effect after you use this driver removal will be similar as if its the first time you install a new driver just like a fresh, clean install of Windows. As with any tool of this kind, we recommend creating a new system restore point before using it, so that you can revert your system at any time if you run into problems.
This tool acts similar to what other driver cleaner programs do + the extra mentioned above.
If you have problem installing older driver or newer one, give it a try as there are some reports that it fixes those problems.

It is important to do a system restore point before as with any tool like this one, it is better be on the safe side and have a backup."

source: What is DDU? - Wagnardmobile Forum

A good case in point is a fresh Windows install which now installs an out of date and generalized Nvidia driver. I let all my updates finish, then I run DDU and it drops me to safe mode where it removes all trace of the installed driver, restarts and I am free and clear to cleanly install the newest driver with the options I choose (goodbye 3d stuff I don't use, goodbye Nvidia Experience)

I may screw everything else up, but I never have video driver issues =)

Do Not Use Windows Rollback for Graphics Drivers
To reinstall a previous or older NVIDIA graphics driver, do not use the Windows
rollback feature. This method will not reliably restore all the previous driver files.
Instead, use the Windows Add and Remove programs to remove the current driver, and
then install the older driver using setup.exe.
Uninstalling Drivers Using Device Manager is Not Supported
Issue
On all supported versions of Microsoft Windows, uninstalling the NVIDIA driver using
the Windows Device Manager may not remove associated files or applications.
Explanation
Microsoft has confirmed that this behavior is by design. If you wish to uninstall the
NVIDIA driver, it is recommended that you do so using Add and Remove programs.

I use a Geforce 2 gts.

I wasn't having any problems with 30.82 drivers , but once i installed the new 40.72 with the new features ...( NvieW n so on)

I have a problem of the monitor giving blinks at 1 min intervals.

This seems to disturbing so i reverted back to the old drivers.

Is there a way to work around this problem.

PS: (before i installed new ones, I uninstalled the old ones first )

I tried it out again without unstalling the old drivers but still no difference)

Anyone having similar problems as me ?

I tried the recent one 41.09 , still the same...

A:Problems with New Nvidia Drivers WHQL 40.72

The best thing to do is go back to the 30.82 drivers. The newer drivers really don't do anything to improve older cards as far as I've seen and sometimes they degrade the performance of older cards.

I have tried some of the newer versions on my GF2 MX400 and nothing above 28.32 did anything to improve the card and many of them actually caused me problems, reverting back to the 28.32 always fixed it. If the 30.82 drivers are working best for you, then stick with them.

Nvidia quietly releases GeForce GT 220, G210 to retail - TechSpot News

A:Nvidia quietly releases GeForce GT 220, G210 to retail

And don't be in a rush to buy one,

GeForce GT 220 review

For a budget card the GT 220 obviously offers decent value for money. You get plenty of connectivity on the Palit GeForce GT 220 Sonic Edition, silent cooling and a product that offers an excellent desktop usage experience.
Gaming wise cards like these are far from what I can call exciting, of course you are on Guru3D.com and we crave the need for high-end hardware. And as such we might be a little BIAS to a product like shown today. Also our test methodology is designed in such a way that mainstream and faster cards are way more representable in performance scaling. The GT 220 competes well with the Radeon HD 4650 but we do recommend you to look into the Radeon HD 4670 as it outperforms this product at roughly the same price. Then again, if you are into gaming .. we doubt you are even looking at this card as a viable option as you'd be compromising consistently on image quality.
Fact remains that with 48 shader cores in the lower resolution you will be able to play modern games as long as you turn of anti-aliasing, forfeit on image quality and resolution. If your intention is just that, then this might be the card for you. Next to that we have to mention the cards good connectivity and thanks to the 40nm fabrication process, really friendly power consumption.

Almost sounds like the second coming of the FX5200.

Hello!

I recently installed Vista x64 Business on my macine (specs are below).
I downloaded the newest drivers directly from NVIDIA:

GeForce Release 178

I started the installation ,everything worked fine, BUT...at the end of the "green install bar" it stopped for a few minutes and then finished saying "The software didn't not make any device changes" or something like that. I was puzzled since those are WHQL drivers.
When I closed the install program, Vista came up with the standard:"This program might have not installed correctly." Then I was really worried.
I reinstalled Windows again just be sure but I got the same thing.
Well, after that second take, I restarted the computer, and everything worked fine (!!!)
Drivers were up, properly displayed in device manager ,everything working. Since then I'm running Aero, playing games, 3dmark vantage went well...

I shared this with you just to see if anyone had any similar experience?

Welcome IvanI, don't worry, you havent done anything wrong, it may just be a problem with the installer, sometimes the executable can become corrupted while downloading, if the drivers are showing as installed then they have installed, if you get strange artifacts on screen then you need to get worried, in regards to the windows messgae saying this program may not have installed correctly, it is because windows detected that you interrupted the installer while it was installing, or the corruption may have caused it, theres nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on it for the next couple of days.

Hi Pinkpanther..great looking post..I am having similar problems with NVIDia GeForce GO6150 drivers while trialling Wn8 enterprise -64 on my HP pavilion tx1340ea...

I wonder whether you could give me a little more assistance?

I have followed instructions above

2)nv_disp.rar downloaded to desktop extracted with 7zip and nv_disp.inf copied to display.drivers folder
3)go to device manager and update driver using have disk method.

.ok so far, but during update process asks me to identify my graphics card from a drop down list in which my NVIDia GeForce GO6150 does not appear?

Can you advise what I should do?

Currently experiencing some sporadic problems with this driver. Basically, I get pink/purple artifacts across the screen and then the system locks up. Sometimes it is able to recover, but sometimes it automatically reboots. It's not the card, as it is working perfectly in the other OSes with the latest appropriate drivers.

Been checking the NVidia forums about this, and I'm not the only one with this problem: Windows 8 Graphic Glitch - NVIDIA Forums and Windows 8 Consumer Preview Geforce Desktop/Notebook Driver Information - NVIDIA Forums - Page 6 describes the symptoms I'm getting perfectly.

It should be pointed out though that issues were present with the graphics drivers with the Beta versions of Windows 7 as well (not necessarily the same issues, but issues nonetheless). Hopefully, these will be ironed out over time.

A:Nvidia GeForce Go 7300 drivers

Geforce 7300 Go is just a derivative of the 7300 card, I'm assuming that it is a mobile card (laptop), you should only get drivers for laptops from the manufacturers website, you can try the nvidia drivers if you want but i would look for the laptop makers drivers as a point of reference.

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my nVidia drivers. When I first installed W7, I installed the GeForce drivers (big mistake). Then I installed the automatic update of nvidia drivers that W7 downloaded. This lead to problems. I have now unistalled all drivers. Windows then looked for it's own drivers, and said they were installed. However, Aero doesn't seem to be working (all taskbars are gray).
I can't download the drivers from the nVidia site, because for some reason they haven't put the W7 drivers for mobile gfx cards online. I can't download the driver via Automatic Update because Windows seems to think I already installed it. Does anybody know how I can find these drivers?

Cheers!
Anarch

PS- I tried via the acer.com site, but they only have Vista/XP drivers.
PPS- I run an Acer Aspire 5520.

Long story short my computer does not recognize its graphics card as what it is drivers are installed and everything(77.72's with direct x 9.0c) but when i try to run counterstrike source it says that I need a direct x 7.0 compatible graphics card or something of that sort, I have done all that needs to be done(uninstalling previous drivers, then rebooting in safe mode/regular mode and installing the new drivers with no anti virus type programs running)

When watching videos everything appears to be at double brightness(eg gammas way to high) but I can play plenty of games just fine without the gamma being affected(just not ones past direct x 7)

Any hints/tips would be appreciated

Hello,

I like Windows 8, and my experience has been good so far. Yesterday I've installed Windows 8 and it had been hanging at 'Installing Drivers... 10%'. So I slammed my GeForce 8600 in my PC, and surprisingly it worked.
However, I need my GeForce 6600 because another OS needs it *cough*Hackintosh*cough*, and so I put this card back into my PC. Now it boots up into Windows 8, but it's not exactly as you call it 'fast'. I downloaded the 296.17 drivers, and my attempts to install it were unsuccessful. The installer stops with a BSOD while attempting to flash the screen, and the computer restarts.
I have already attempted to install the drivers with Device Manager, automatic as well as manual, but the same BSOD happens.

Is there anyone who can help? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Edit: I have Windows 8 32 bits.

I have Windows 7 32bit installed on an ASUS P5RD1-VM mobo with an nVidia Geforce 8500 GT graphics card.

I have tried numerous times to install the Windows 7 (32bit) Driver from manufacture site, but when it tries to install the drivers, I get an error message saying "No drivers were found that work with your device. Setup will now close."

I don't get this! I'm on that graphics card right now, in Windows 7, and typing this thread...

Also, in Device Manager, there is no "Display Adapter" listed.... I can't seem to find any evidence of a generic display driver either....

I've already solved the problem of my sound not working (SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio) and this is the last thing I need to get Windows 7 working for a REAL test run!

How can I get these drivers installed?!

Any help is appreciated

A:nVidia GeForce 8500 GT, drivers won't install

Download the driver from NVIDIA's site.

You might need a bios update for the motherboard if there is no standard vga in the display adapter section of the device manager. Install the latest one.

Also in the bios, disable all unused ports like floppy, serial, parallel, com.... etc..

im using the program "geforce experience"and it seems like during the installation process it always gets stuck at something

the first time i tried installing it,it went all the way up to "installing 3D vision driver"and when the bar thing went across the entire way it just stopped, then i tried installing it again and the same thing happened only at "installing PhysX system software"

id assume it was a windows 10 problem but im not using windows 10 im still using windows 7

New here. I have a Toshiba Satellite P25-S526 which has an NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200. My screen goes blank right after Windows logs on (Windows XP Home SP2). I go into safe mode and remove the drivers, and can then log into Windows normally. I have tried the newest drivers available from both Nvidia and Toshiba's website, but both end with the same result. Another thing I should mention is that right after the BIOS load up and before the Windows loading up screen the screen shows in DOS looking format completely filled with 0's (zero's). Is there anything I can do? Thanks a lot.

I am not sure if anyone has ever experienced this phenomenon, but after I install the Nvidia Geforce video drivers for my Windows Vista x64 system, my monitor will not go into sleep mode after a proper Windows shutdown. I know this happens for sure due to the video drivers because when I use the default/standard VGA drivers provided by Vista, the monitor works as usual. I am running a tri-sli setup consisting of three 9800 gtx's and my monitor is a 28" Hanns-g HG281D. I've contacted Hanns-g/Hannspree for an answer but they could only tell me to switch my monitor's input settings to "pc." However, this particular model does not include any such setting and they finally agreed to that after I insisisted forever. Any ideas? Thanks for your input.

The good news - if you grab the latest drivers then you will have noticed that GeForce Experience has received updates. If you are up-to date just hit check for updates in GeForce Experience. The bad news, Nvidia is forcing (in the near future) its Game Ready drivers to be downloaded through GeForce Experience. That means the software (which the majority of people feels is bloatware) will become mandatory to be able to download first wave drivers.

I'm almost at my wits end with this issue and hoping someone can help me and I can keep this video card A few weeks ago while mid-game I got a BSOD with a nvlddmkm sys error The computer would not reboot in normal mode but would work in safe mode Using safe mode I managed to uninstall the drivers Once they were uninstalled I could operate in normal mode to reinstall more recent NVIDIA drivers but once I got them I would get the BSOD again upon restarting and again the cycle of going into safe mode would begin again I've tried everything from pretty much + NVIDIA GeForce with error drivers... I have an older PC running Windows winver I couldn't do the November update from the previous version of Windows so Seems Driver 341.95 - WHQL Unstable? - GeForce I did a clean install All worked out okay just had to GeForce 341.95 Driver - WHQL - Seems Unstable? mess around with Creative Labs to finally get the audio drivers working properly I also have a partitioned drive with Windows SP Enterprise Version That works very well still of course MS is forcing me to update that to Windows but GeForce 341.95 Driver - WHQL - Seems Unstable? I rather keep it on the partitioned drive since I have Windows already My question I have installed the latest Nvidia drivers GeForce Driver - WHQL I feel or it seems the driver is a bit unstable Every now and then I see the monitor turn opposite colors when I click on a certain function usually something that takes up too much resources being this has an old CPU - Intel D GHz When I had the previous version of Nvidia drivers for the older version of Windows the first version I never experienced the unstable-ness I do now I almost feel the PC is at the point where I am going to get the blue screen of death But in all my work I do on here it is working well other than every now and then this blinking of the monitor real fast and then back to normal All OS files are clean install is clean scan shows nothing but healthy I also had the PC shutting off on its own after minutes or so but I think I solved that issue as it doesn't so far do it anymore Should I uninstall the latest Nvidia Driver for the GeForce GT card and use an older version the last version that still supported by Windows or just ignore this and pray this PC lasts a bit I'm really on a bad budget now I cannot afford a new PC at least a new one that has a discreet Nvidia graphics card with a decent i or i core processor So I need to use this PC and my laptop which works perfect even though the laptop too is old and has a partitioned drive Windows works flawlessly and the older Windows version By the way all my versions of Windows All on machines are PRO except Enterprise of Windows on this PC All of the PCs came from Windows XP SP originally I hope I am making some sense Maybe just ignore it and wait till another update or version is released from Windows and Nvidia Don't install a driver that is about months old Isn't it amazing though these PCs are still running rather well with the latest OS and software The Desktop has a bit architecture ready but I dare not use bit Windows because all my cards and hardware will probably not work correct It is sad to have GB's of RAM installed on the PC when only can be used

A:GeForce 341.95 Driver - WHQL - Seems Unstable?

Imho, the questions you should ask yourself before going 64-bit are :
Is the OS truly 64-bit ready ?Does the hardware have 64-bit drivers available ?
I can answer to the first question : yes. XP 64 is far away now

Now to the hardware : it should be no problem for the 9400 GT since Nvidia has a 64-bit driver available. I don't know for the rest, but some old hardware may be missing such drivers.

The final BIOS for dv9200 series is F2D, it has been almost 2 years HP not updating the BIOS for this model.F3D is more model shipped with AMD processor. Many of dv9000 owners that have geforce 7600 have to let their notebook rest in piece due to Nvidia issue. If you have a working notebook, than I'm suggesting not to force it run too much, just use HP drivers and take extra caution with the temperature fluctuation. Download Hwmonitor to check the temp, hereIdle temp for GPU around 60C, check yours. Use it always with external cooling pad and never ever play serious game in it.

Nvidia Corp.?s latest beta drivers include support of what can possibly the company?s next-generation graphics processing units (GPUs) made using 28nm process technology. The actual chips are projected to officially emerge next year, but Nvidia may easily be tailoring its software for the new hardware.

The latest unreleased Nvidia ForceWare 285-series drivers contain mentioning of GeForce 610M and GeForce GT 630M graphics adapters for notebooks, according to a news-story by VR-Zone web-site. It is believed that the new GPUs belong to GK100-series chips that are based on the code-named Kepler micro-architecture.

Nvidia said earlier this year that it plans to test-drive its next-generation Kepler graphics processing unit (GPU) this year and introduce the new chips commercially in 2012.

Hello Everyone

I'm getting a weird response when I try to install the latest drivers for my 8500GT.

The installer will seem to progress just fine, until about halfway on the progress meter...then the computer shut's down and restarts! Here's the weird part: it continues this cycle of shutting down/restarting until I hit F8 to get it into safe mode!

I had just reformatted my harddrive and was in the process of installing everything. I read in another thread that it was suggested to put the earlier video card in(ati) before installing the new drivers (nvidia), but I figured that since I had reformatted the drive, that wouldn't be nessecary.

If only I had not misplaced the original driver cd for the nvidia card! (aarrrgh!)

Please help!

A:Intel HD Graphics + NVIDIA Geforce [Drivers & Usage problems]

1. Main reason the Intel reference driver won't work is it hasn't been modified to work with the second card (applies to laptops with either Nvidia or AMD for the second card). Same applies to the Nvidia driver, it requires the Intel driver to be installed before it can be installed.

2. From what I have seen the Nvidia card (or AMD if so equipped) can be made to run all the time only when the laptop is plugged in and you change the power settings to high performance. If that doesn't get it working all the time here may be another setting that needs to be changed. If that is the case going to have to wait on someone with a similar setup for more info.

A:Sony Vaio NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M Win7 x64 Drivers needed

most nvidia laptops use optimus that means they use integrated intel gpu + nvidia
best thing is to update driver from nvidia site but please note:
"The following Sony VAIO notebooks are included in the Verde notebook program: Sony VAIO F Series with NVIDIA GeForce 310M, GeForce GT 330M, GeForce GT 425M, GeForce GT 520M or GeForce GT 540M. Other Sony VAIO notebooks are not included at this time (please contact Sony for driver support)."
for some reason sony limits general driver usability.
so you may be stuck with sony support.

why is it when I use the 320 WHQL driver or the 326 BETA driver my computer freezes randomly but when I use the 314 WHQL driver it works fine.

I have the GeForce GTX 460 GPU.

just wondering why?

A:nvidia 314 whql driver vs 320 whql driver

It seems that the 320 driver caused instability issues to other people as well as I've seen on the internet and beta drivers are "as is" so BSOD's or freezes may happen. As for the 314 WHQL driver, it looks like that was nvidia's most stabile driver between 310-320 for some people. Go ahead and try the latest 327.23 driver that was released today (9/19) and see how it goes for you . Hope I helped answer your question.

one is equipped with a NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS and the other with a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.

I found on notebookcheck that the 9400m is ranked higher than the 9300m, but the 9400 is an integrated card, and that the 9300m has dedicated memory! i am confused because i always believed that a dedicated card will be better than integrated so i am very confused!!!

please comment if you can clear this up for me! thanks much

Hi guys, I would just like to ask, will I get any performance improvements if I update my driver to the newest 347.25? Is it necessary for me to update my driver? It lists support for Dying Light however, I do not play this title and I only run old games such as COD: Modern Warfare 3 and Ghost Recon Phantoms. Furthermore, I'm afraid I might do more harm than good, as the saying goes, "If it ain't broke don't fix it". Btw, my current driver is 344.75 Thanks

You could update it & see what happens.

You can always roll back to the old driver if you want to.

N-Trig Releases Multi-Touch Drivers (Beta) for Windows 7 RC

N-Trig has released a beta of the multi-touch drivers for Windows 7 RC targeted at developers.

There are packages for the Dell Latitude XT and XT2 and the HP TouchSmart TX2.

Quote:
N-trig DuoSense™ Multi-Touch Beta Package (2.59) for Windows 7 Release Candidate

The DuoSenseTM multi-touch package for Windows 7 Release Candidate enables ISVs and developers to experience the Hands-onTM effect, and allows software applications to be developed with integral multi-touch capabilities.

In this package, more than two fingers can be used simultaneously as input devices.

This package supports Windows 7 protocol only. In Windows 7, multi-touch gesture-recognition is identified by the operating system.

If you are a developer and have DuoSense technology enabled and the Windows 7 RC (build 7100) version installed on either your Dell Latitude XT, your Latitude XT2 or your HP TouchSmart tx2, you can download and run the multi-touch package.

A:N-Trig Releases Multi-Touch Drivers for Windows 7 RC

Has anyone been able to test this on a Latitude XT2?

I've tryied it and it seems to be very buggy. The single touch interation is now terrible as any attempt to make a straight line results on a line with a lot of interruptions. So, dragging a window, for example, is interrupted like 2 inches away from where you started.

I'd like to hear if someone is experiencing the same behaviour.

A war of words broke out earlier this week as the Internet decided (again) that Nvidia's GameWorks technology was messing with the performance of games running on AMD hardware.

GameWorks is a collection of propriety technologies and APIs that Nvidia offers to developers so they can include tricky effects like realistic hair, shadows, and destruction in games without having to create them from scratch. But GameWorks' capabilities are necessarily Nvidia-optimized; such code may perform poorly on AMD GPUs. The situation has led vocal gamers to allege that Nvidia is playing dirty, paying developers to ensure that code doesn't run well on non-Nvidia systems. Nvidia has denied the claims on several occasions, but they continue to be made.

Those are 2 different display devices, one on MB the other one for discrete GPU. Each one needs own driver and yes, updating any driver will override old one and even more likely uninstall older one. If you are satisfied how everything works, better leave it alone.

I've got XP, directx 9b and a Ati Radeon 9800pro

I've been happily running the latest ATI drivers

I have a new game which insists on directx9c

I go to install it and it refuses, stating I have a driver which is not WHQL certified

I check Dxdiag and sure enough one of the ati files is not certified.

I uninstall the ati drivers and check their site, its says all their drivers are WHQL certified which seems odd given the above. I install an older ati driver

I get the same error message. I try four more different and older drivers. Every single one has a file which is not certified.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!

I am using nVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 256 MB RAM on my home PC. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate RC and everything worked smoothly including Aero to the highest quality where drivers were from Windows Update.

Now, I got licensed Windows 7 Professional. When I update the driver from Windows Update everything works just fine until I shut down the PC and turn it on again. When I do that after OS finishes loading, screen suddenly goes blank. After like 2 minutes, system gives a blue screen and restarts. This time Windows successfully makes it to desktop saying that Windows recovered from an unexpected shutdown. When the report is prepared it says something went wrong with the video card drivers. The same thing happens even if I install the latest drivers for Vista directly from nVIDIA website as there is no Windows 7 drivers for FX 5500.

A:nVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 & Windows 7 Pro

Don't update drivers from Windows Update. They are not the most current drivers available. And, if you're having problems with a driver you need the most current version to ensure that any bugs have been worked out.

These 2 drivers need to be updated:

Code:
nvlddmkm.sys Tue Oct 10 01:44:34 2006
ac97via.sys Mon Nov 22 15:29:55 2004
Update the nvlddmkm.sys driver by getting the latest video drivers for Win7 from Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers
Update the ac97via.sys driver by visiting the manufacturer of the sound card (or the system if it's a built in sound card) and get the latest Win7 drivers for it also. Post back if Win7 drivers aren't available.

Here's more info about the STOP 0x116 error: BSOD Index
Basically it's most likely to be one of 3 things:
- driver issues (yours are outdated)
- overheating issues (open the case and check to make sure the fan is working and you don't have dust all over it - but don't touch anything inside the case!!!)
- broken video card (test by trying another video card).

Here's a summary of the BSOD analysis':

A:Apple Nvidia Geforce 120 on Windows?

I personally have no idea. I can tell you that hardware for Apple products cost the earth and video cards for a PC costing $40 to $50 (Radeon HD 6400) cost $100 or more. I suspect there is something in the video cards bios that prevents PC cards working in macs and vice versa. You may want to post on a Mac hardware site. Why don't you just try it, I doubt it would do any harm, the connectors are the same. Post back and let us know.

It's Nvidia GeForce FX5500 AGP8X 256 MB AGP.

A:Windows 8.1 with Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 AGP 256 MB

The easiest way to get your answer would be to go to the following nVidia link and see if they have a Windows 8.1 driver for your video card. Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers That link is for nVidis drivers. If you aren't in the USA, just change the en-us at the ende of the link for what letters your country uses.

Mermiatwd, welcome to the forum. I suggest that you try Revo Uninstaller free version to see if it solves you problem.  I use the Advanced option.  It removes the program from the HDD and the remnants from the BIOS.  I have used it for years with great success with removing those difficult to remove programs. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I'm not a gamer, but rather an enthusiastic net surfer and would like my present graphics card to be as fast as easily possible. To do this, it has been suggested that I update my card's driver with downloading/installing Nvidia's latest driver (285.62 WHQL, Win7 64-bit...4G RAM, Firefox 9). Would this be the the right thing to do?

Hello,
I have a Dell Dimension 9150/XPS 400 and the Windows 10 upgrade says this when I try to get Windows 10:
"This PC can't run Windows 10, It doesn't meet the system requirements.  Here's why Windows 10 can't be installed on this PC.  NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE The display manufacturer hasn't made your display compatible with Windows 10.  Check with the manufacturer for support."
Does anyone know how to get around this error?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks,Tony

A:Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE, Windows 10 support?

Replace the graphics card.  Nvidia only supports 300? series or higher with windows 10.

I am getting ready to do a fresh install of Windows Home Premium bit It is on an HP DV running Vista Home NVIDIA Windows Go 7200 will 7 work in GeForce Premium with an Intel Core CPU T GHz processor And it has the will NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 work in Windows 7 NVIDIA GeForce Go GPU I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor and it will NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 work in Windows 7 informed me that Windows Aero will not work on my computer because my current graphics adapter won't support the will NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 work in Windows 7 Windows Aero interface I'm surprised by that message since this computer seems to fall within all of the minimum system requirements I checked the NVIDIA website for a Windows driver for the GeForce Go GPU but it says that one is not available I am currently running the most updated version for Vista NVIDIA DRIVERS BETA My question is this Do you think that I will be able to run Windows Home Premium on this computer with my current driver Can I run the video driver in Vista compatibility mode Thanks in advance for your help I appreciate it

A:will NVIDIA GeForce Go 7200 work in Windows 7

I found out that 64Mb is required to run Aero in Vista and in Win7. But the Upgrade Advisor was only seeing 32 MB on my GPU even though the GeForce Go 7200 is 128 MB. But, I forgot that a portion of the 128 MB is shared. So that makes sense.
It seems like it will work fine in Win7.

And speaking of the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, I was using the beta version when I received that incompatibility message about Aero. I found out that the final version of the Upgrade Advisor was released today. When I downloaded it and ran it, there was no longer the incompatibility message about Aero. So perhaps they fixed its dumbness!

I'm looking forward to Win7, and I will keep this thread updated if I find out anything quirky when I do the win7 install.
