Preferred Solution: How do I install Polish language for spell checking in Outlook 2007 SP1?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I think installing Proofing Tools from your Office CD and then install Polish proofing tools.

I wasn't sure where to post this but I'm hoping someone here can help me.

I just bought a new netbook for travel and I have a problem with Outlook Express.

I bought the Acer Aspire One which I absolutely love except for an issue with the spell check.

When I go to spelling in the options the only language available is French. I don't know how to download or figure out how to get it to offer english.

Right now I'm not using the Microsoft Word program that was loaded because it's a trial basis program. I plan to uninstall it and install Office 2000 once I get an external drive.

Is there a way to download the english dictionary?

Thanks for any help!

A:Outlook Express Spell Check Language

Hello & welcome to TSF,

Outlook express does not have a spell checker of its own. This from the OE Help Page:
Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
.
It must, therefore be trying to use the French Spellchecker from one of the listed installed programs. You could try to find out which one has a French checker and alter that to English.
.
A FREE stand-alone spell checker for OE is available from here:

You can change the language settings in the Regional and Languages Options (

Do you have the multilingual version of Windows installed, or the english version using a different input language?

Hi and welcome to TSF

You can only change some bits of XP into English via the Regional and Language options control panel.

If you want everything in English, then you must buy an English version of Windows XP, you cannot change Polish version into English as there are no English components included.

I would take a look on Sourceforge.net
I know there's a free one called ASpell.
There should also be either a different utility or an add-on for ASpell
that monitors the clipboard allowing you to highlight and copy from
any window. After spelling is corrected it pastes it into the highlighted
text, replacing the block with spell-checked text.

I'm using W7 Home edition on a new Dell laptop. I've downloaded Windows Live Mail (2009). I'm using the UK extended keyboard. I want to be able to spell check in French when I reply to a French friend. I can change the keyboard to a French layout, but that's not what I want (it moves some letters like "a" and "q", and some punctuation around); and even if I do select a French keyboard I don't seem able to get the spell check to work in French. Since my French is not so good it helps to be able to use the PC to correct my spelling - that's what computers are for isn't it ?
Can someone explain how to set it up: I've seen other threads suggesting it is possible, but no explanation of how to do it.

So basically you want your computer to "recognize" that the email is in french, and load a french spell checker then when finished unload and reload an american spell checker?
while i suspect it is possible there would be tons of work involved.

Hi,

I want to apply an Office 2007 language pack to an existing Office 2007 (English) installation.

I've followed all steps as described here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l....aspx#section2

* I've copied all the Dutch folders (access.nl-nl, excel.nl-nl, ...*.nl-nl) to a seperate folder
* edited the OMUI.nl-nl\config.xml file as described (see attachment)
* start the setup from the office 2007 setup-folder (setup.exe /config c:\mui\nl\OMUI.nl-nl\config.xml)

the setup runs successfully. When I want to select Dutch as the interface language via Start > programs > Office > Office Tools > Microsoft Office Language Settings I don't have to "interface language" option.

What am I doing wrong? Am I lookign in the wrong place or did I forgot something?

thanks in advance for a reply.

Try the GNU Aspell spell checker.

http://www.nirmaltv.com/2008/01/09/h...opera-browser/

Quote:

1. Download GNU Aspell and install it.
2. Install one or more Aspell dictionaries (The list of dictionaries are available in download site).
3. Restart Opera.

On restart, Opera will automatically recognize when GNU Aspell and one or more dictionaries are installed on your computer, but without a dictionary, GNU Aspell will not function as a spell checker.

Once the spell checker is installed, ?Check spelling? option will appear in the context menu of all edit fields.

A:MS-Word spell checking

To make the languages that you want to use for editing available in Word, follow these steps:

Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, point to Microsoft Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings.

Note The first time that you use the Microsoft Office 2003 Language Settings Tool, insert your Office 2003 compact disc (CD) into your CD-ROM drive or into your DVD-ROM drive when you are prompted to do so.
Click the Enabled Languages tab.
In the Available Languages list, click the languages that you want to add, and then click Add.

Note If (limited support) is displayed next to a language in the Available Languages list, you may have to install additional system support for that language. The available support depends on your operating system.

The languages that you add are displayed in the Enabled Languages list.
Click OK.
If you are currently running any Office programs, you receive the following message: To use the new language settings, you must quit and restart all open Office applications. Shut down and restart open Office applications now?
Click Yes when you receive this message.

The new language settings should be enabled the next time that you start Word.

I do hope that this is the correct forum. I continue to use Word 97 - after all it does the job (usually). Recently it has developed an unusual problem.

The spell checker works for two pages of any document after which it fails to check any spelling. Page two, any errors are picked up in red; page three, they are ignored.

If I insert a page break halfway down page two the logic is repeated; above the line spelling is checked, below the line (the new page three) spelling is ignored.

Searching the web shows only a solution caused by authorisation levels but this only applies if spelling is totally lost.

Obviously this behaviour has not always been the case; previously spelling caused no problem.

That is correct. If you try to send with "always spell check" enabled it will prompt you. Which would you rather do? not spell check all the time and remember to do it, or spell check every document or cancel the popup?

I re-installed office on his machine logged him on....... nothing. I even changed his ntuser.dat in his profile still nothing ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!! Can anyone think of something Iím missing?

A:Word: Spell Checking Features Unavailable

Know this: Reinstalling does nothing most of the time. There are products called Eraser 97 and Eraser 2000 that really MUST be used for a proper cleaning out of the old settings in the registry before reinstalling the suite.

Now this: Close Word. Start-Run and type regedit. Browse to this key:

Office 2K:
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\9.0\word

Office 97:
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office\8.0\word

Right-click the Word folder and rename to OldWord.

Complete troubleshooting for Word can be found elsewhere on the board here, try searching. You should get them and hang onto it or bookmark it, it's really helpful.

I have seen the following odd behavior in MS Word more than a few times and was wondering if anyone else has a) observed the same behavior and b) (more importantly) knows how to address it.

With text that was originally pasted from another document (I think this is true in most, if not all cases when the behavior is observed), if I delete the first letter of a word then retype is as a capital letter, I get a red squiggly under the word - except the first, capitalized letter. If I cut/paste the word, the problem remains. If I delete and retype the word, the problem is resolved.

Any ideas?

A:Odd MS Word spell-checking (red squiggly) behavior

Right click highlighted word - menu Language and make sure that the first letter is the same language as the other part of the word.

You can also try Paste text only option, because Word normally pastes text with previous formatting (see picture attached)
.
But you can avoid the deleting first letter by using Change letter case function of MS Word.

Change letter case. Highlight the whole word and clicking SHIFT+F3. It will make first letter capital, second shift+f3 will make whole word capital and third shift+f3 will make it low case. Depending on initial case it will cycle through these three cases.

This is an extract from the Outlook Express 'help' index under 'Spelling'.

"Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available."

Maybe the fault lies in the language settings in one of these applications?

I found this official link 1 hour ago after searching for 2 years.

I own an Office 2007 Student Pack in Italian - but I'm used to excel formulas in English,
and to have all Office in English. The interface being in Italian it's a pain.

Microsoft 2 years ago discontinued the support for language pack support,
I was pointing there to change interface every-time I had to reinstall.
The PC Main Disk crashed, and over the pain to do the full install of everything,
I discovered that I was stuck with an Italian Office !
DUH !

Now they came back and offered a good solution ... full download of the older Office version ... any language.

I have vista with 64bit and was told it would install with no problem. The first cd which included Outlook 2007 downloaded without a problem. Then I tried installing the 2nd cd and it will not work no matter what I try. It says failed to install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007. I then installed both cd's on my desktop which is also vista 64bit and there wasn't any problem. I am so frustrated! Any ideas?

Hello -

I'm suddenly unable to perform spellcheck. I receive the error below:

Evidently, they are NOT. I have never removed them and cannot imagine why they would suddenly disappear. Seems I can only download 2013 and newer? I'm not certain what the proper fix is, if there is one.

Any guidance would be appreciated!

I installed Office 2007 for Small Business. All went well except for Outlook, which the installation CD says is "not available." ?????? I can still use Outlook 20003, but the links in e-mails are not live. Help!

A:Can't install Outlook 2007

Hi

Outlook 2007 does not render HTML correctly. You are better off with Outlook 2003.

I found out the hard way and had to remove outlook 2007 and install Outlook 2003 all over again.

The disabled links problem may be related to the anti phishing features included with service pack 2 (for MS Office)
"To permanently enable all links, go to Tools, Preferences, Junk Email options and remove the check from the option to disable links. I don't recommend disabling this option"

You can also try this which resolves some issues with links in outlook:
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Click the Programs tab, and then click the Reset Web Settings button.
4. Under Internet programs, verify that the correct e-mail program is selected.
5. Click to select the Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser check box.
6. Click Apply, and then click OK.

When I take the standard steps -- select all, set language, uncheck box -- it never works. What I get is NO boxes checked, and a check next to English. The last thing I tried was to make the default language english in the normal.dot [I usually never make changes in the normal dot but I felt this was safe. Still, I should have saved normal under different name] Of course that made no difference. Closing and reopening the document made no difference. What am I missing here?

A:Is this Outlook 2007 Legal to install?

Hi,
Depends on the license and version being sold.
eBay is not where I would be buying.
But you could request proof of version installs to other computers
Or ask how much and where the 2007 suite was sold.

Could be selling your lost copy

First the Outlook failed to start correctly...start in safe mode? Then it says Microsoft Office Outlook has stopped working; a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I got this laptop from mom a few months ago and everything was in english, that wasn't a problem to me because i could find my way with it anyway.
But since i need to write alot of letters for classes i need to have the Dutch Spell check. ive tried to change the custom dictionary for dutch only, but there's no Dutch in the language list. So does anyone know if i can download the dutch dictionary for word 2007? it would really help a lot

A:word 2007 Spell check

I have Word 2007 (from Office Enterprise 2007) and I checked and it has two different versions of Dutch as language proofing options (Review / Proofing / Set Language). Perhaps you didn't install all the languages when you did the initial install and running it again to get the others will give you the option. Make sure you don't actually have it before you look for options or purchase add-ons that will provide it. If I have it, it seems likely that you do as well but just haven't found or installed it. I did not buy any special language options with the suite (unless Enterprise includes some that other suites don't - I'm not sure).

The Dutch Language pack for Office 2007 (much more than just the dictionary or just the Proofing Tools) can be purchased at: Microsoft Office Online. I could not find a free download of just the Proofing Tools for Dutch (in effect, the Dictionary as you are calling it) at Microsoft or on the web. But it's only about $25 so it's not that expensive if it will be so useful to you.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

I upgraded Outlook 2007 to 2010. I did this via purchasing a new seat of 2007 to get the upgrade last week for free.

Please bear with me but with Office Pro 2007, inclusive of Outlook already installed, I found the only way to activate the upgradable new seat of Outlook 2007 (required of course for the upgrade to 2010) was to remove Office Pro 2007 (and its Outlook 2007), then install and activate the new upgradable seat of Outlook 2007.

Anyway, Outlook 2010 is up and running, but I of course need the other 2007 applications back

My question Lord willing is simple, when I put the Office Pro 2007 disk in, will it ask me if I want to install it's 2007 version of Outlook over Outlook 2010, or will it just do it(!)...?

I have searched numerous threads and google/yahoo searches for my continuing issues with MS Word 2007 Spell Checker. Spell Checker no longer identifies spelling errors yet grammar correction remains. I have tried registry tweaks and carefully examining the proofing options within Word 2007. I do not have a previous version for a custom install so that is not an option. Spell Check functions fine in ppt and xls but not in Word anymore. If anyone has any solutions I will be very much appreciative and no longer flustered. If a Word fix is not available are there any free spell checkers that will function inside a word document? Thanks all!

All of a sudden my spell check has stopped working. I am using Office 2007. I showed to the technical staff members of my university but none of them could figure out as to what could be the reason.

In fact, three times, we deleted (uninstalled) the Office 2007 from the laptop and then installed but it did not solve the problem.

Some one suggested that I have to reload operating system-XP again. I was wondering if there could be another way to solve this problem without re-installing XP.

The spell check feature no longer works in Word - Office 2007, running XP. I've checked all the usual places to correct it, rebooted, etc. It does still work in all my other apps.

Thoughts?

I bought last week a new Inspiron 15 (3531), which seems OK.
However, I have one showstopper. the Exchange account could not be installed on Outlook 2007. It seems not to get access to the Exchange server, with result it cannot be initialised.
What I tried :

install Outlook 2010, same message
install this account on another two DELLs with Windows 8.1 and Outlook 2007 : no problem at all
from within Outlook installing and with optione E-mail (32 bit) from Configuartion screen : no difference

Other E-mail accounts (POP etc) I had no problems with installing.

So I think it is a setting in the factory-software which does not permit to verify the account.
I also reinstalled from factory settimgs without virusscanner/protection, but again same problems. So already present this problem on the Windows image with the system.

Any advise/suggestions ?

Thanks ahead,

Kees

Hi,

My client is having trouble reading certain emails that are encoded in ISO-8859-1. It doesn't appear in Regional & Language options, but what does appear is Windows-1255. As I understand it, 1255 is the replacement for 8859.

Is there a way to manually install this, or as an alternative, force Outlook 2007 to read 8859 as 1255?

Thanks!

I inadvertently installed Office XP Pro on my system thinking it was a newer version than what I had - duh. I had previously installed Office 2003 and Office 2007 Home and Student and they were working properly. After XP Pro was installed none of the newer versions would work. The XP pro versons of Excel and Word worked but Outlook would open but would not send or receive Email. I was able to uninstall XP Pro but neither the 2003 or 2007 programs will run. I cannot uninstall either of them nor can I reinstall either of them. I tried system restore with no luck. I also searched the microsoft site for help and have not found a soultion. Does anyone have any ideas? Help

I have created an application in Access 07 runtime that really needs a spell checker. Because the client does not have the full package, the Access spell checker is not available on their computer. It was suggested to me to use a Do.command.Run.command in VBA to run a spell checker. I don't really know how to implement this solution. Do I create a VB module and run it from a button? or do I create a macro? I'm not really sure what to do. Any spell checker solution would be appreciated...

After installing Office 2007 I lost the English dictionary for Outlook express 6 and have only French in OE6 and Word 2007.

When I installed Office 2007, I did set it to install English in proofing.

Under options in OE 6/spelling, it only gives French as an option.

In Word, English is set as the primary language and also under enabled editing languages.

The dictionary in Word is French.

How do I get an english (US) dictionary in OE 6 and also find the english dictionary in word if it was installed as I set it or get it into the program?

Thank you for your help!!!!

I recently deleted my colleague's distribution list. Fortunately I have another colleague who has the same distribution list on her PC . It is the same outlook 2007 on both PC . I followed the usual way of exporting and importing the csv file in both window and csv format . But I am still not able to get the distribution list on the deleted desktop ? What is the possible issue here ?

Andrew

A:Importing Distribution list from Outlook 2007 to outlook 2007

The only advise I have is to give you incite into the cvs file.

It is the equivalent of a XML markup, but a file a programmer likes to deal with better. It's laid out in what is known as comma delimited formatting. That means, when the file is being read by a program, it stops at the comma's. Everything before the comma is the current entry. Everything after the comma is the next entry, and before etc. The read stops when no more commas are found, and the last entry is taken.

Comma delimited format should allow for the cross platform exchange. If it doesn't try using the XML format instead.

Hope I helped.

I have Office 2003 installed (Word, Outlook, and Excel). I have Outlook configured to use Word as the e-mail editor. I configured Word to not check spelling or grammar as I type. When I reply to an e-mail in Outlook, spell check runs and checks the original message text as well as my reply. I have the option "Ignore original message text in reply or forward" checked, but it is not working. It does work if I enable Word to check spelling and grammar as I type, but I don't want to enable those features.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to get spell check to recognize "wan" and "meting" as misspelled words. I usually mispell the words "want" and "meeting" in the above manner, but spell check regonizes them as words. I want spell check to put the red squiggly line under "wan" and "meting" so that I can correct them accordingly.

I've tried looking for the dictionary in the regular paths of:

c:/users/<user>/applic data/roaming/microsoft/proof (and Uproof)
c:/docs & settings/user/application data/microsoft/proof

but it only has the CUSTOM or exclusion dictionary in these locations. I have the folders un-hidden so that I can see/find the above paths.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
vall3ri

I assume you are using Word as for spellchecking in Outlook. If so, the following article shows you how to exclude correctly spelled words from the MAIN Dictionary (as opposed to just the custom one): How to remove a word from Word's main Spelling Dictionary.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

OK.

weird, this one.............

I have Outlook Express 6 and MS Works 7

Outlook Express' spell check button is greyed out.
Help says:
Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available.

Most advice places on the net suggest that MS Works spell checker will work in Express.

I have moved a copy of csapi3t1.dll into the outlook folder as suggested on one site. This made no difference.

Any Ideas?

I work in a large organisation who has just switched from Lotus Notes mail to Outlook.

A colleague of mine has altered her spell check option but still has Tool/Options/Spell
ignore original message in reply or forward - checked on. So her spell check should ignore her original message.

It spell checks the WHOLE document. I have tried to emulate her settings on my PC - mine doesn't do the same as hers, neither does anyone else's who has the same settings.

It is obviously a bug in Outlook 2003 - but I cannot find a resolution to it anywhere.

Can anyone help - please?

Tnx

A:Outlook 2003 Spell Check

Does it only happen when forwarding or replying to plain text messages and does your coworker have a preference set to add a prefix character to each line of the original message. If so, that is how Outlook works. Instead of trying to improve how spell check works in those cases, it looks like MS chose to just warn people that the entire message will be checked. (It is a royal pain in the you-know-what) ...

I am just setting up an Outlook Express version 6 email account and the spell checker is set to check in French as the language. When I try and change the language there is no other option for languages. I have looked at everything I know to look at and everything is set to English. How do I get this changed to spell check in English? Thanks in advance.

A:Outlook Express Spell Checker

The spell checker in OE is so annoying - till you know how to fix it.Outlook Express does not have a spell checker. It can make use of the spell checker in Microsoft Office 95 or later, or Microsoft Works (later versions, which include Microsoft Word) if present. However, a system file that is required in order to make use of the spell checker is not installed by Windows XP.The easy way would be to install Microsoft works or Word from any office version.Or you could download and run This file to put csapi3t1.dll into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof
