HP Pavilion 6721la Ethernet driver fox XP

Q: HP Pavilion 6721la Ethernet driver fox XP

hi guys,

a few days ago i changed from windows vista system to the old xp sp2 system...it runs better on my laptop....but i had trouble getting the lan driver for it...it seems i can only find it for the vista system.....Could any of you guys help me out finding this driver for XP?

hmm...by the way, XP detected my audio driver as a conexant audio card, but i cant get the microphone working...I guess the driver in xp sp2 doesnt fits the actual hardware of the audio card so, if any of you knows where to find the correct audio driver for it, i will apreciate it

thanks in advance,

luigui.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

When i run ipconfig on win7 it says media disconnected. The card is a realtek pcie gbe family controller. Wireless works just fine. I have tried resetting winsock to no avail. I have also tried reinstalling the drivers and this also did not work. I dual boot win7 and ubuntu 12.04 and the problem persists between both of them. I ran ping 127.0.0.1 and it was successful so it should not be a hardware problem. Could it possibly be an issue with bios?

What is the complete product name or product number of your notebook? If your notebook has usb ports available then the solution would be to purchase a usb to ethernet adapter. They do work quite well.  Otherwise you will need to have the systemboard in the notebook replaced.    You can even purchase one at Walmart if you happen to live near one.https://www.walmart.com/c/kp/usb-ethernet-adapter

I reformatted this computer's HD a few days ago to get rid of some junk. I noticed the internet was no longer working so I checked the device manager for missing drivers and saw that my Ethernet controller isn't there. I've been searching for 5 hours and tried numerous things. I can't see to find the driver anywhere.

The local connection says I am connected with 400mbps but no packets are being sent or received. I found many drivers at the hp website but none that solved my problem.

The specs on this computer are http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Hewlett-...2n-b-PC-Bundle at that site.

The computer originally had Media Center Edition 2005 before I wiped it and put XP Pro. I don't know if that would matter though.

Here are some quick specs if it helps.

Processor:
Intel Pentium D 2.8 GHz
Chipset:
Intel 945P
Video Output Interface:
PCI Express
Networking Type:
Integrated 10/100 Network Card

Motherboard name is Asus P5LP-LE I believe.

My wired desktop internet connection cuts out for a few seconds every 3 to 5 minutes.  Laptops are able to access the internet wirelessly via the router.  My conclusion is that the ethernet adaptor (card?) needs to be replaced.  I've done some searching but can't work out what I need to buy (what it's called), what specs (speed?), and where to put it (a card slot? replace something there?).  I'd prefer to keep a wired connection as it's much faster.  The product specs say it's currently:LAN: 10-Base-TTechnology: PCI Realtek RTL8105EData transfer speeds: up to 10/100 Mb/sTransmission standards:10-Base-T Ethernet The system info shows this: The SpeedTest shows: AT&T says downstream speed is up to 18 mbps Thanks for any help. K.

I recently acquired a Pavilion Slimline (s5503w) desktop PC. For whatever reason the hard drive was blanked out when I received it and upon installing Windows 7 64-bit (Ultimate Ed) I've had quite some time locating the proper drivers. Attempting to use the recommended drivers from HP's website resulted in a 9996 error, you don't meet the requirements. Proper recommended installer for that version of windows, but no luck. I've also tried installing the Ethernet and Audio drivers recommended by Nividia's website. A 15.49 package, but though it recognizes the video card it doesn't notice the onboard Ethernet or Audio. Neither of these devices is listed in device manager as far as I can tell either. No typical yellow exclamation mark stating that the driver is missing.

Any help or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Hi.

I've got a desktop (pretty old)
I just got a new wireless internet router but i usually use the USB with my old one. However, this one doesn't have a USB port , only Ethernet. I plugged it in but nothing happens. I think I need the drivers for the ethernet port, if that exists?
I'm running Windows XP.

Help?

A:Need Ethernet Driver!!

Becky:

A wireless router has 4 or more wired ports on the back of it so you can use a combination of wired and wireless connections, if you want to.

Since your old desktop has an ethernet adaptor and uses a wired connection, it needs to have the driver for it installed for it to work properly and get a connection.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Right-click MY COMPUTER, then click Properties - Hardware - Device Manager. When the Device Manager window opens, click the + in Network Adaptors. What is the description listed for the wired ethernet adaptor? Is the an X or exclamation mark or question mark next to the entry?

------------------------------------------------------------------

What is the brand name, model name, and model number of that desktop?

What version of Windows is running in it?

Hi: Did you try the Vista Business drivers from your notebook's support page? Try manually installing the driver if the auto install method doesn't work. You would manually install the driver as follows... Go to the device manager and click on the ethernet controller needing the driver. Click on the driver tab, click on update driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file. That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp37093. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Did you system come with a install cd? If not we need to know the
model name and number of board. Usually written between pci slots.
Or run a program like everest, that will give you the complete
description of your board and components. You will need to install
mobo drivers as well. If the machine was bought from a box store

So i have recently bought a USB TO ENTERNET apdater. Now when i purchased the product from pctradeshop.com it said it came with a driver CD. If you have a nforce chipset, which it looks like you do, the storage driver should also be updated.
Just make sure to go to nvidia and get the most recent nForce 630a drivers you can.

A:How do I know what ethernet driver I need?

The ENet driver you have will depend on the mobo manufacturers choice of hardware. Since it's an Intel processor, you probably have Intel ENet hardware.

If you open the case, somewhere on the mobo, usually in white letters, you'll see the model number and the brand of mobo. Enter those in google and follow the appropriate link to the manufacturers web site. Then follow the links to 'Drivers'. There you'll find and download the driver for your mobo. Load that onto a thumbdrive and then install it on your computer.

Go to the HP Support site and put in your serial nuimber ( it's on a sticker on the back or side of the tower ) . . navigate to drivers and start with chipset, then all others. You can burn to cd to use on the other machine.

A:Ethernet driver gone?

Did your computer come with a setup DVD? That setup DVD may contain crucial drivers for your computer including the ones for sound and network. So use that and check it out if your computer came with a setup DVD. You may need to ask at the store you bought that machine while its new.

If not, here's a solution. Type Device Manager on the Search bar st the Start Menu. On the Device Manager, under "Network Adapters", choose your network adapter, right click it and choose Update Driver Software. Then Browse My computer for Driver Software then Let me pick for driver software installed on my computer. It shows a list of compatible driver software. Click one until its highlighted and choose Next. It should try installing driver software then you may need to restart for that to take effect.

If this won't do either, copy the exact name of your motherboard. Use another computer with Internet, type that name on Google and add "ETHERNET drivers for" lets say for example "ETHERNET drivers for <exact name of your motherboard model>" then Search that on Google. You can see links where you can download drivers for that, look for the ETHERNET driver compatible for Windows 7, download that, put that on a USB drive then install that to your computer.

I recently reformatted my computer, however I found that there was an error on my XP CD, so I had to manually reinstall all my drivers. Most of them went smoothly except for my ethernet driver. Using the Dell website, I managed to find the driver I needed for my computer. However, I installed it computer still does not recognize it. There is a question mark next to the device in the Device Manager, and when I try to install the device from the Device Manager, it tells me that the driver "does not contain information about my device".

My computer is a Dell Dimension 4550, and I should have the right driver as I downloaded the one it gave me specifically for my computer.

The driver I tried to install was Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Driver Ver. A00, which is to the best of my knowledge the correct driver.

Go there, select Windows XP in the dropdown menu. Then choose LAN. Then choose either:
Marvell Yukon Gigabit Driver V8.56.6.3 for Windows 2000/XP/2003(WHQL). (beta)
or
Marvell Yukon Gigabit Driver V8.25.1.3 for Windows 2000/XP/2003(WHQL).

If you get the beta driver it appears you'll need something to un-rar it. If you get the 8.25 one it is simply zipped and XP should be able to unzip it on its own. Then run marvell_yukon_drv82523.exe

There was no system specs posted, but most systems require motherboard chipset drivers be installed BEFORE installing device drivers. The chipset drivers define all the devices on or attached to the motherboard and if they are not installed many devices will not install.

The driver for NT 4.0 and related files are attached to this messaeg, in order you can (I hope) to recognize it.
I renamed the extensions to txt, bit the file OEMSETUP should be an INF file, and the file PCIWNT should be a sys (*.sys) file.

A:no internet/ethernet driver?

you need to look for a .sys file in the folder that was downloaded with your ethernets driver content. Some times the .sys file is in a subfolder so when you are browsing to it in the Hardware installation Wizard you need to click on the folder where the .sys file exists.

If you downloaded OEM drivers then I'm positive that there are detailed instructions for deploying the drivers onto your machine. Just check the documentation on the IBM website for your model.

OF COURSE THAT IS IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE WWW FROM ANOTHER PC.

Before you do a hard drive format and clean install of the operating system, you should identify the computer's devices and have the drivers for them saved on a CD-R or USB thumb drive or both. You can then use that media to install any device drivers that didn't get installed during the install of the operating system.

What's the 7-character service tag number on the sticker?

Which version of Windows is installed?

Go into the Device Manager, then advise what's listed in Other Devices.

A:Ethernet driver can't be reinstalled

I had a similar problem when upgrading from W7 to W10. The network adapter worked fine until the final reboot of the W10 upgrade, then it failed to connect.

Before getting to the fix that worked for me note that Ethernet cables are not very robust at all. They can be damaged easily by one too many yanks or being tripped over. And router ports can go bad too so consider swapping cables and ports.

I decided to uninstall the driver (in the past this worked for me)

This does often work, but because today's computers don't power off completely when shutdown (they go into standby), sometimes it is necessary to completely remove power to release any settings (including network settings) the ATX required +5Vsb voltage is holding. For a PC, this means unplugging from the wall or setting the PSU's master power switch, if it has one, to off for 15 - 30 seconds. For a notebook, this means unplugging the charger and removing the battery. This "cold" boot process is often necessary when uninstalling and reinstalling network drivers.

From another computer I had to visit the failed computer's website and got the latest network drivers for and saved them to a thumb drive. Then back on the failed computer, I uninstalled the current drivers and installed the new drivers from the thumbdrive, shutdown and powered off completely, waited 15 seconds, connected power and booted. Windows saw "new hardware" and installed the new drivers and immediately connected to my network.

I am a bit puzzled why the network card is still not working and what to download next, maybe a Bios update would do the trick?

Ethernet Controller = LAN adaptor . . same thing

Looks like HP does not offer XP Drivrs for that system . . see if these work for the network adaptor

http://download.cnet.com/Realtek-RTL...-10278840.html

Also look in Device Manager to see what else needs drivers

Okay, so I found this computer for five dollars. Good condition.

It's as

Computer:
AuthenticAMD

AMD Anthlon(tm)XP 1600+

248.0MB RAM
Well, I installed 98 on it.
I tried to hook up the internet and it didn't work. I Called my ISP and he said, that it was because my Ethernet Controller didn't have the proper drivers. I have no compnay name or anything to help me find it... I just know it says AMD on the front. And SUPER COMPUTER. Both put on by the manufacturer.

I need help finding the driver so that I can put it on CD and put it on the PC.

I HAVE NO internet access on that computer.

Just recently my computer has been acting weird. If I turn off the computer and turn it back on later it says their is a problem with my Ethernet cable. I have tested all my cables and they work fine. I updated my ethernet driver, after restarting the computer it works. Now everytime I turn my computer off I get the same error as before with the ethernet cable not working, therefore I have to reinstall my ethernet driver everytime to be able to connect to the internet.

If you can get to a working computer you will need to go to www.lenovo.com and download it there.

Hi guys,
I hope someone can help me. i am trying to sort my friends computer out and we had to do a clean install of windows on his hard drive. Its windows XP and for some reason it has not picked up the drivers for the ethernet card sound and video card! I have looked in device manager and can see a yellow exclamation mark and question mark next to them. i have tried to update driver but it won't install and I don't understand why! it keeps stating its recomended to look for an internet connection to download the driver but ofcourse the internet isn't working because we are installing the ethernet driver. How can I install this driver? Any help would be appriciated its a Dell Dimention 5150.

Thanks for any help.

A:Can't get XP to install my Ethernet driver

If you don't have the Dell Drivers CD then use another computer to download the correct chipset and networking and any other needed drivers from the Dell web site. Using your friend's Service Tag makes searching on Dell's site far easier. Copy the download(s) via removable media.

Hey guys so I purchased windows and uploaded it onto my old computer and Im having a problem trying to get the computer to recognize a connection Just an ethernet Think missing driver? im fyi im not too computer savvy but if you dumb things down and walk me through stuff I can find more info out This was a custom built computer about years ago so some of the stuff is outdated im sure First I had XP installed working great on the same desktop less than a year ago but had to get Think im missing ethernet driver? rid of it so I used Linux as a temporary solution till I saved some money for Windows At both times I never had an internet problem My internet comes from a dsl line and my Think im missing ethernet driver? desktop gets the connection straight from the modem Windows says there are no connections available even though all the lights on the modem are on and I should be able to connect Ive tried different ethernet cables and im even using the modem right now on a friends laptop so it is NOT the modem or the connections Im thinking its a missing driver issue but im not sure how to identify what driver I need are they called ethernet drivers I turned my printer on in W and it immediatley recognized the drivers and works great along with my mouse and keyboard Anyone have any ideas for what to look for under device manager to see what I need to download Im kinda assuming its a driver issue since it worked with XP and Linux but not sure thanks

A:Think im missing ethernet driver?

Stealth, welcome to the forums
I think you are on the right path, it looks like you do need the correct drivers.
There is an entry "Network Adapter" in device manager, first try to update the driver from there, otherwise let us know what adapter you have and maybe we can help

You have not installed the drivers. If you have the drivers cd that came with your motherboard, insert it and it should autorun installing drivers. If you lost that cd, download drivers from here:http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/...D=1&LanID=0

Hey Everyone I have an Acer Aspire 3690 and have had to reinstall windows XP professional .. I have all drivers but one .. Ethernet controller
I have checked various sites to help solve this matter
Would be gratefull for any ideas or information on where to get this driver

A:Ethernet Controller Driver

Acer has dtivers here: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3690.html

I notice there are several different drivers for the same model so you will need to know which LAN adapters you have.
