Q: Satellite S75-B7316 HDD replacement vs warranty

Hello.
Does hdd replacement in my S75-B7316 mean warranty lose? There is no separate cover for hdd so have to remove whole back cover to do this.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, I had a failing hard drive that was replaced in warranty just a couple of days ago. However the hard drive that was installed on my computer is not a new one - CrystalDiskInfo reports it has been turned on 450 times. Is that a normal policy to send refurbished hardware as replacements?  Also, I've noticed the hard drive does an unfamiliar clicking sound when beign used. (and since it's the same hard drive as I've had before, I assume the usual working sound should be the time, which it isn't)Check disk and CrystalDiskInfo don't show any errors though, so I'm not sure if it's a bad sign or not? I will definitely take it to the authorized repair shop that did the HDD replacement but I still thought I'd ask here. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
my battery recently reported permanent failure, it was under warranty so I contacted Dell support to request a replacement. I've provided all the necessary information and had also ran some diagnostics, the person I was in contact with was happy with all the information provided and informed me that they'll send me a replacement.
Few days later he messaged me the below. I'm not quite sure why they need my whole laptop for this, I'm not really happy to have it collected and kept by them for what I can imagine will be several days if not  weeks. Is this a normal course of action for faulty battery?
"I forgot to tell you that the warranty on the system is Collect and Return, which means we have to collect that system and have that fully diagnosed and checked through our repair team. "
 Thanks.

A:Replacement of battery under warranty

It depends on the system you have.  If the battery isn't user-removeable (i.e., it's inside the system rather than easily removed by sliding a latch externally),it's not a user repair and you will need to return the system to the depot for service.

I receive a Smart Drive error of "Immanent Failure, back-up immediately"... and of course its been telling me this for close to 2yrs now. my Question is this, "Is my Hard Drive covered under its manufacturers warranty or HP's warranty?". My Laptop is no longer warranted by HP but the manufacturer has a 5yr. warranty on its internal hard drives and my hard drive isn't 5yrs old yet. The HHD I'm referring to came installed within my laptop at the time I purchased it. Anything else you need to know? Thank you.

A:Flex 2-14 - Warranty: Replacement policy

Hi wavare_ajinkya ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As a general rule, CRU (customer replaceable parts ) will not void the warranty as listed from the hardware manual . However most upgrades on this model shows that such are considered FRU (field replaceable unit) , meaning you would have to open up additional parts and might require skill and specific tools thus CRU ID is N. (item6 page 72 ).

1. Upgrading your RAM however would not void any warranty.
We had same issue discussed on this thread .
On quotes: " Similar to this query is this case  for the Z500 replacement of optical drive which is also a CRU Id - N and this thread.

Warranty agreement :

What this Warranty Does not Cover
- failure or damage resulting from misuse, abuse, accident, modification, unsuitable physical or operating environment, natural disasters, power surges, improper maintenance, or use not in accordance with product information materials
-damage caused by a non-authorized service provider
-failure of, or damage caused by, any third party products, including those that Lenovo may provide or integrate into the Lenovo product at your request

Warranty is not covered if during the process of modification , damage or accidents may incur both on the replaced parts and the original devices ."

The answer would be no , upgrading  the harddrive ,RAM will not void your warranty not unless that original parts gets damage because of or during the process of upgrade.

For best measure , you may give Lenovo Tech a call so that they would be able to note it on your account for the pc that you have plan for upgrades .

2. Changing the original operating system would not void the hardware warranty , but support for the software such as the new or original Operating System (example to restore it back/ drivers issue etc.) would be users responsibility and functionality thereof.

Hope this answered your query .

I guess this isn't a Yoga-specific question but wasn't sure where to put it. I'm ordering a replacement AC adapter for my Yoga 3 Pro on the lenovo.encompass.com site. But there's nowhere to enter the serial number so I can order it under warranty. I get to the purchase screen and it's going to charge me full price. I've entered my warranty info on the main support site, but when I get to the parts site it doesn't recognize that. Basically, how do I order the part under warranty without having to pay for it?

Have this voided my warranty in any way? I hope the hardware will still be guaranteed....

A:New week old Inspiron 11 3000 3558 (touch) stuck or broken button on touch pad--warranty parts replacement?

This is an fyi about the final resolution of this issue.  After a lot of arguing dell sent me what was supposed to be the touchpad but what I got was only the plastic palmrest no touchpad. Then because it's a "daughter card" I got more argument about the touchpad.  I got hot enough that I opened up the back, lifted out the battery, took out the two funky looking screws and the whole pad just fell right out of the machine.  The buttons seemed fine so I screwed it back down, put the battery back in and closed it up.  It's now great, the button was indeed hung up on the edge of the plastic palmrest.  This is a very well designed inside machine, it all screws down and all connections are with plugs or ribbon cables.  I wrote back to dell and told them they need to fire their tech manual writers because they're idiots, a monkey could have done this.  Apparently it is not easy to find only the mouse pad it's generally sold with the palmrest from what I can tell.  This whole machine is so well designed I scratch my head why the cpu isn't socketed unless they decided there was no room for a socket etc, which I can see that argument.  So if your mouse pad quits try popping it out first it may just be hung up.

Hello,

I am currently having a problem on my computer (Satellite U840-10R R?f?rence : PSU4WE-00E017FR).

The SSD part (32go) of my hard drive seems to be broken. I can't enable the SSD fonction in the Intel software or I experience big troubles so I disabled it. However, I still can use my computer because the HDD part (500go) is ok and has the system on it.

My question: is it possible to take the whole drive out of my computer and put a new SSD one instead ?

How does it look ? Is the whole thing looking like a classic 2.5 HDD ?

Which kind of interface would I find inside ? (Sata 3 ???)

Thank you

A:HDD replacement on Satellite U840-10R

I don't know how old your machine is but if the warranty is still valid I think you should contact Toshiba service and ask for replacement. Valid warranty will cover the costs.

Anyway, this 32GB SSD is with mSATA slot type Multi-level cell (MLC). On Google you can see how it looks like. Generally speaking replacement should not be problematic but if don't have experience with notebook disassembling you should not do it alone.

Fact is that SSD is placed directly under the cover and placed between RAM and WLAN card.

Hi everyone,

because my Z830 is more of an A360 the last days than a quiet ultrabook I wanted to broach the annoying noisy fan subjekt again....

Iluminatus23 mentioned in [another thread|http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=271287#271287] that he now uses the new Z930 fan in his Z830 with good results (silence!).
On the internet I wasn't able to find a seller for this fan in Germany. Does anyone of you guys know where I can get this fabulous new fan? Might it even be replaced (for free?) by Toshiba? (warranty & goodwill)

Maybe Iluminatus23 could give us a little more information about the replacement (where he got his fan from / if the replacement was easy / if he is still happy or maybe problems occured later)?

Thanks for your time and hope to get some answers :)

Hi

As far as I know both notebook series: M70 and L300 supports the same display size and are equipped with the 15.4" WIDE XGA screen.

So from my point of view it should be possible to use the same display?but I could be possible that the flat cable which connected the display with the motherboard could be different? so pay attention to this? maybe you will need another cable?

Hey,

Theoretically you can install every HDD with SATA interface and 2.5? form factor in Satellite Pro U400.

If you install a new HDD in Satellite Pro U400 you have to use the old HDD case/holder to install it.
I don?t know what you mean exactly with that but maybe you can upload a photo to make it clearer.

Last but not least it doesn?t matter what company it comes from. You can use a HDD from Toshiba or another company too like Western Digital, Seagate, etc.

You could order every notebook part from Toshiba authorized service provider available in your country. The ASP should be able to provide such part even if the notebook belongs to an older notebook series.

Hello

looking into my R630x I'll see a SSD that isn't compareable with other commercially available SSDs I have found. It seem to be a circuit board, connected by a very flat ribbon cable. No other connector.

Which kind of SSD do I have to replace this one? Is it even replaceable?

Holger

A:Satellite R630 - SSD replacement

Hi

As far as I know the SSD which is built in the notebook is an *1.8? SATA SSD* drive.
In case you would like to use other SSD drive you will have to use the same size. 1.8?

Hi Guys,

my Satellite U840-10V display hinge on the right hand side broke when i accidentally dropped the laptop. This happened almost 2 years ago and today it came out, separating the window from the screen. I had this temporarily fixed from a nearby repair shop and was advised to contact toshiba to replace monitor head. my warranty expired in 2013 and I did not extend it.

Can anyone advise the best course of action to replace the screen? i live in ealing, London and am able to go to a service provider close by who would be able to replace this. I really like this laptop and I would like to replace the screen asap instead of dishing out money on another new laptop.

Regards,

Raaqim

A:Satellite U840-10V screen replacement

If you want to fix this alone you need new parts and maintenance manuals. Can you obtain all this?

As far as I know maintenance manuals is not a public document and without step by step explanation how to disassemble the notebook this can be very risky.
What do you think about that?

Hi,

I would like to know how I can replace my PC (Satellite Z830-10T) in Japan.

Two years ago I bought the PC in UK and now I'm living in Japan.
The battery of the PC is now running out and not recharged any more, so I think I need to replace the battery.
Then, I asked to Toshiba support in Japan to replace the battery but they declined my offer, because they deal with only products sold in Japan.

Could anyone tell me how I can replace the battery of my PC in Japan?
Do I send the Customer Center in UK? If so, what is the address? How does it cost?
Or, it might be necessary to think to replace the battery by myself. In that case, could anyone tell me what the battery product number is?

Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,
Yuki

A:Satellite Z830-10T - Battery Replacement

It is not easy to give you a good advice what you can do. Problem is that your notebook must be disassembled and this should be done by authorized personal only.

Maybe you can order battery from UK and ask ASP in Japan to exchange it. It should not be problematic. I can just imagine that they have problem to order original parts.

Try to order it in UK or maybe you have someone who can do this for you and send it to you.

A:Satellite A300-276 - processor replacement

It is not easy to give you proper answer. Problem is that Toshiba doesn't support CPUs upgrade so it is not easy to get right info about compatible processors.

Fact is that CPU reach very high temperature in short period of time.
In my opinion you should exchange CPU with identical one. This should work.

Hi there

My screen was broken and I need to replace it by myself but I don't even know where to start.

Are there not any screws or something? How to remove broken screen?

A:Satellite U940 - screen replacement

Maybe stupid question now but why do you must replace it alone. I mean this notebook model is pretty complicated for disassembling and I?m afraid it is not so good idea to do this without knowing how to do this.

What you need is step-by-step maintenance manual but such document is not a kind of public document. I really don?t know if you will be so lucky and find someone here who can help you with this. Satellite U940 is pretty new notebook. I have it too but I cannot disassemble my and help you with this.

My advice for you is: contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask if they can help you with this and how much it costs.

Hey,

So the old HDD in this laptop is on its last legs and I'm looking to replace it and upgrade the RAM at the same time. If you guys know how much RAM the chip set can take and if a SSD SATA 2.5 is okay to replace the drive with that would be great. Also any suggestions on best RAM and HDD would be much appreciated.

A:Satellite A300 - HDD and RAM replacement/upgrade

Good old A300. I had it 2 years ago. It is very good old machine and it runs very well with Win7.
I don’t know how many RAM you can use with it but I think from 4 up to 8GB should not be problematic. SSD is very good solution. Your A300 will run pretty fast and much faster than before.
I can recommend you Toshiba or Samsung SSDs. I’ve tested both models on different machines.

Hey so my charger broke pretty quick and was way too short in the first place. I've bought non-brand replacements for samsung tablets but they don't charge fast enough to have any effect if the laptop is turned on, so it only prolongs usage until the battery runs out.
I've only found one website that offers a toshiba brand replacement charger but there are no product descriptions or images so I don't know what I'm buying, and searching the product name gives me no info.
Where is a reliable place to order a replacement charger that will actually work?

Off-post topic I worry there may be something wrong with the actual battery life as it often shows incorrect battery percentages, and just now on a supposed 50% ot has turned off and will not turn back on - is this something that can be covered under a warranty?

A:Keyboard replacement on Satellite Z930

I don?t know what the problem is with your keyboard but I presume that this new notebook model has valid warranty so I strongly recommend you to contact nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. If keyboard is defective they should exchange it for free.

The whole situation with hardware parts is pretty complicated. I don?t know where do you live and I cannot search whole web to find right link for you and you can do this alone. Google a bit around and check if you can find some online store in your country where you can order it.

Replacement?
Theoretically you can do this but I don?t think you should do this alone. Notebook disassembling can be pretty complicated and without maintenance manuals very risky. Small mistake and you can damage something, especially small plastic parts and plastic holders.

Contact nearest Toshiba service, talk with them and ask for some help or good advice.

Because I'm an amateur enthusiast, I would like to ask for advice on how to force to work both drives. What are the steps, or what programs should be used.

Thank you in advance for your help and patience

A:Satellite U945-S4110 Replacement HDD for SSD

I guess you want to install the system using external CD/DVD drive or booting from the USB flash memory stick.
Right?
In both cases you need to disable the “secure boot” option available in BIOS.

Additionally in case of Win 7 installation, you would need to switch the boot mode option from UEFI to CSM.
If you want to install Win 8, you can still use the UEFI mode.

Does somebody knows how to replace the keyboard to a satellite u840-u by myself? It looks to be just glued but don't know for sure. Also, my keyboard is not backlit, does it would be if replaced by one of the U series backlighted?

A:Satellite U840-10U - keyboard replacement

Hi

As far as I know some Satellite U840 models has been equipped with backlight keyboard.
But from my knowledge the backlight keyboard requires additional power connector (CN20).

I guess not all U840 motherboards would support such connector and therefore the backlight keyboard upgrade would not be possible.

Regarding the keyboard removal:
Yes I think the keyboard is pasted to top case by double adhesive. If you would disassemble the keyboard from the top case, the keyboard would deform and could not be used again.

In my opinion you should not try to remove anything. You would void the warranty and could damage other parts. I think such disassembling procedure should be done by authorized service engineer.

I believe I need to upgrade my memory (currently 512mb) to at least 1GB. Or should I go to 2 GB. Which would be better?

And do I need a BIOS upgrade? It's currently using vn 1.50 08/24/2006. If I do, which version?

A:Prerequisites for Windows XP replacement for Satellite Pro A120-107

Hi

The first thing you should do is to visit Toshiba download page and check which operating systems are supported for this old piece of hardware.
Go to http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check archive. i think your machine must be PSAC0E model, right?

What you can install is Vista 32bit or Win7 maybe and use offered drivers for Vista. I think most of them will work with Win7 32bit. Maybe you will not be able to configure all Toshiba stuff perfectly but I?m sure you can get it work with Win7 pretty good.

If there is some problem let us know.

RAM:

According notebook specification this model can be upgraded up to 2GB so I recommend you to upgrade it to max level using follow compatible RAM modules:
PA3512U-1M1G(DDR2-667 1GB Memory Kit)
PA3513U-1M2G(DDR2-667 2GB Memory Kit)
DDR2-533 512MB (PA3412U-2M51)
DDR2-533 1GB (PA3411U-2M1G)

BIOS:

Do not change anything, just set it to default settings. BIOS update will not help you at all.

If you have more questions please be free to ask.

i checked online and there are many mobos with like A000081450, A000082100, A000080830 and about 10-20 different ones.
All of them saying they are meant for Toshiba Satellite L750 L755!
These are different numbers to suggest that they have different configuration related to GPU and VRAM or their brand like NVIDA or AMD types, i guess.
My question, are they all meant to fit physically in all Toshiba Satellite L750 ?? have any one got experience of such mobo replacement with another board.
Will appreciate if someone can offer me any advice, as exactly same mobo not available for me, so i am thinking to put another similar one.

A:Satellite U940 - random BSOD after HDD replacement

Hi

I read in some threads here in this forum that after the HDD or SSD drive has been replaced, the RAID configuration is lost and must be rebuild on a Windows 8 device.

But this cannot be done very easy and this can be fixed by authorized Toshiba service engineer since this procedure requires special tools and utilities.

Unfortunately, it looks to me that you have to contact the ASP in your country to get this issue solved :(

I don’t have this old machine but check please if you can find HDD cover at the bottom side. If yes, remove it and you should have full access to the HDD.
Try to obtain such old IDE (I think) HDD and exchange it.

A:What replacement DVD burner for Toshiba Satellite P745?

See here on how to take the old drive out http://www.irisvista.com/tech/lapto...745-P745D-P740-P740D/disassemble-laptop-1.htm
If you then look at the part numbers on the drive and post them here we should be able to give you more info.
It does look to me as though it is a generic drive so shouldn't be too expensive and widely available on Ebay (for example).

I have a Toshiba Satellite L875D-S7332. I need a replacement battery but I don not want to buy a brand new one from Toshiba that costs $116. I've seen various replacements that advertise the same stuff for cheaper. One that claims is this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1Y10PC3668 but the voltage on that one is different from my laptop battery (10.8v). They claim it will work. Any opinions on the matter? Cheaper and functionally sound is what I'm looking for.
Thanks

A:Solved: Toshiba Satellite replacement battery

Toshiba Satellite L875D-S7332 (PSKFQU-008003)

Its detailed specifications indicate it came with a battery with these specs:
6-Cell, 67Wh, Lithium-Ion, Part #PA5025U-1BRS

According to the "Specifications" information for the battery you selected, that part number is listed, so it should be okay.

It's rated at 11.1 volts instead of 10.8 volts, but that should be okay.

Hello,

I'm having problems with a Toshiba C50D-A-133.
It's s pretty new looking laptop, and had a cracked screen.
I ordered a new screen with the same part numbers and assumed it would be a straightforward job.

I'm not getting any backlight with any screens I connect. I've tried several, and replaced the display cable with no joy. I've checked the motherboard, and there's no damaged pins etc.

The display is working, I can see the Toshiba logo on boot and it works with an external monitor.

My thinking is that with the old screen getting cracked, it's maybe shorted a resistor or something in the backlight circuit.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and is there any way to remedy it?

A:Satellite C50D-A-133 - Screen Replacement - No Backlight

I?m a little bit confused about one statement.
You said the display works and you can see the Toshiba splash screen.

To me this means that everything has been connected properly.

In my opinion you should check the display output function. Usually you can switch between the external and internal display using the function key (in my case FN + F5)

Please check if you could enable the display using the special function key.

The charger on my A500 needs replacement. Its specifications are:

Part: PA3468E-1AC3
Model: PA-1750-09
Input: 100-240V / 50-60Hz / 1.5A
Output: 19V / 3.95A

I have a spare one from another Toshiba laptop whose specifications are below:

Part: PA1650-02
Model: PA3396E-1ACA
Input: 100-200V / 50-60Hz / 1.6A
Output: 19V / 3.42A / 65W

Is it safe to use this one temporarily? I am not sure how to replace the other one permanently. I live outside the US/EU so unless I can find the exact one I would need to think of buying a generic one.

I also need to fix a once flickering but now dead monitor but that is another issue...

Could anyone please tell me how I fit a new power port in my Toshiba Satellite T110-121.
My daughters boyfriend was going to replace it, but they have since split up.

A:Power port replacement for Satellite T110-121

Hi

The replacement is very, very tricky because you have to disassemble the whole notebook unit.
You have to remove all parts before you will get access to the motherboard and to the DC in cable.

I don?t think you can do this without any step by step instruction and guidelines.

As far as I know and as suggested in this forum, the maintenance manuals are not available for common notebook users. Such manuals are released only for authorized service technicians and I think you will not be able to download such manuals but I think you can search in internet for some useful information and details.

For example you could take a look on irisvista.com website and could look for Satellite T110/T115 series how to disassemble such units.

But such disassembling is your own risk!

Greetings,

Recently ordered a 128G mSATA in order to replace the supplied one with my U945. I plan to use it as main disk and leave the HDD for file storage.

I am perfectly aware that doing this will surely brake Intel cache functionality (pretty useless if main OS is running from a SSD)

This tutorial states that in order to clean install W10 on mSATA drive I have to disable Intel SRT by changing to AHCI from ISRT on "Sata operation" in bIOS. I am afraid this option is not present in my U945 settings.

Is this important ? All present Intel stuff has already been disabled at bios level.

And what's up with W10 updated drivers for this particula model of ultrabook ? I see other models of Toshi are receving updated drivers but not for this one

TIA

I'm trying to repair a Satellite L300 that had a dead HDD. I replaced the dead 160GB HDD with a WD 500GB drive, then used the recovery disks to install Windows Vista SP1 to the out of the box state.

Now Windows update won't run, Vista SP2 standalone that I downloaded won't install, MS Security Essentials also won't install.
Then I borrowed a 160GB from work and went through the same process and everything works fine.

So it works with a 160GB HDD but no a 500GB HDD. Why?

A:Satellite L300 - can't install Microsoft updates after HDD replacement

> ...Vista SP2 standalone that I downloaded won't install
Usually after recovery image installation you must just connect notebook to the internet and after short period of time you will get messages about available Windows updates. Just install updates offered trough automatic process and install important updates only.

Let the system install all updates and don?t force installation of some own downloaded stuff.
Last month I have upgraded HDD (320GB I think) and installed Win7 on friends L300 and I didn?t notice any problem there.

Hi

Usually if the power voltage in abnormal of the power supply malfunctions the DC IN LED will flashes orange.

Yes, usually all SATA 2.5? HDDs should be compatible since the SATA controller is downwards compatible and even if you would use an SATA II or SATA III HDD, the notebook should be able to handle such device.
But of course the performance would be limited to SATA I

A:Satellite X200 PSPBUA-00N007 graphic card replacement

I guess you mean the Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphic card with NVIDIA SLI Technology.
From my knowledge the notebook was equipped with two nVidia Geforce 8600M GT graphic chips. This was possible because of to the SLI technology.
The graphic chip code name was NB8P-GS (SLi)

> Does anyone know if the computer should start with just one card?
I?m not quite sure about that but I guess this will NOT be possible because of the BIOS.
The BIOS of X200 was configured and modified for this GPU and probably the usage of other GPU would not be possible.

> I have found the correct replacement parts for my computer, but need to know which to buy.
I guess all compatible part could be ordered from Toshiba service in your country but to be honest I think this could be expensive fix and probably a new notebook would be a better option.
But of course this is just my personal opinion.

A:Flashing the Satellite R830 BIOS onto the Satellite R630

First of all:
you can download only the Toshiba win based BIOS from Toshiba EU driver page.
This means that you can update the BIOS only while running the windows system.

Secondly:
it would not be possible to update the R830 BIOS onto the R630 since there is a protection which would break up the flash process because of compatibility issue.

Thirdly:
You could damage the notebook if you would still try to update the wrong BIOS (maybe using the traditional BIOS version, USB version, etc?)
So this is really bad, bad idea doing this?

Official statement is 4 GB HDD for Satellite 2550CDT and 6 GB HDD for Satellite 2590CDT.
It is not easy to find such info but maybe you can use 10 GB HDD. I don't know for sure.
BIOS update has nothing to do with this and new BIOS version is not designed to increase hardware upgrade values but to fix some serious problems.

According notebook specification Satellite 2550CDT has Celeron 366 CPU and Satellite 2590CDT has Celeron 400. Both CPUs have the same bus clock I presume you can upgrade CPU to Celeron 400.

With HDD is the same. official statement is 4 GB. You can try to install 10 GB. I didn't found any info about CPUs. It is almost 11 years old notebook model and to pick up some relevant info is nothing but ?mission impossible?. ;)

Try to contact nearest authorized service in hope they can help but, to be honest, I am not so sure they will lose their time with such oldies.
--------------------------------------------------

4) There is nothing to fix because it is not a kind of ?non working feature?. These oldies cannot boot-up from USB port. And how you want to enable PCMCIA port to work as bootable port? Forget it.
5) RTC Battery and Backup Battery
6) Maybe using PCMCIA card with USB 2.0 ports

Good luck!

how do i get the warranty for my geforce graphic card because the fan and heatsink is broken when i bought it and i cant do anything and i lost the bill and it keeps overheating now the computer turns off after 10 seconds now how do i get it?

A:warranty

contact who you purchased it from and see what they can do. they should have records of the transaction. if you purchased it with a charge card you could contact them also for any record of the purchase.

lastly contact the manufacturer and see what they can do. some things go back there anyway i think
