HP x4000b Bluetooth mouse does not work with Dell Latitude E5450 notebook and Windows 7. My Dell notebook/laptop is connected to the HP Bluetooth mouse, but it will not pair.I purchased the mouse on Nov. 6, 2016 from BestBuy. It works flawlessly with my MacBook Pro 2013.I have made sure to turn off BlueTooth on all my Apple devices.I have removed the USB for the my wireless mouse to make sure that's not interfering.I have tried all Dell and HP diagnostics for BlueTooth.I have run Dell System Detect and Support Assist. The Bluetooth for the notebook is working correctly.I have installed fresh batteries in the mouse. The mouse power button is on and I've tried pressing the Connect button on the mouse multiple times.I followed the instructions on this page to update the driver: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-x4000b-bluetooth-mouse/5286917I've rebooted multiple times. Please help.Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/HP-x4000b-Bluetooth-mouse-does-not-work-with-Dell-Latitude/td-p/5837561
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Firstly I am sorry if this is the wrong group to post this in but was struggling to find a "right" place. As of 8.15 this morning a MS update happened and since then the HP x4000b bluetooth mouse has stopped working. Is this a known issue or am I missing something. It is pairing fine and I have removed and re paired it. Says it is working fine but does not move the mouse pointer. (The tablet is an Acer offering but as I say, was working fine until the MS update). Thanks, Neil.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-x4000b-bluetooth-mouse/td-p/5850322
Every now and then my mouse will freeze. If I turn off the mouse then back on it starts working again. Anyone have this happen with their bluetooth mouse?
I have used this mouse on two different computers and both do the same thing. I'm thinking it is the mouse since it's doing it on my desktop with a bluetooth dongle and my Asus T100 with built in Bluetoooth.
Almost all Windows 8/8.1 users have this issue with mouse freeze. There was an update but it wasn't able to install on my PC.
What you may try first is to try a wired mouse and test it out.
- If you have random Bluetooth issues and the mouse just disconnect for no reason at all, you may try to update the driver and/or get a microsoft windows 8 mouse.
Please help this old grandpa. I am trying to install an HP Bluetooth Mouse x4000b. No dice so far. I have windows 10 on a new lap top HP Notebook. I went to install device in Settings, but again, I'm either too much of a Luddite to figure in out, or there is some other paranormal explanation. I took a while, but finally figured out how to get to this forum, and a few more minutes to figure out how to type in it. Tried the recommended HP Internet page as suggested in the one paragraph instruction that are on the printed page. I am not sure what else to do. I push the 'pairing' button and nothing happens. Can someone with a younger, more flexible mindset suggest a solution. Thankshttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/Installing-HP-Bluetooth-Mouse-x4000b/td-p/5730795
Similar problem: HP dv7 laptop, Win10. Mouse disconnects after 3-5 minutes of disuse sometimes less, or even when in active use. Win10 settings/bluetooth says the mouse is paired and connected, but mouse doesn't move cursor, buttons and scroll wheel are inactive. Does not ever work at power on. Only solution I've found is to turn off the mouse, remove the mouse from Bluetooth in Settings, turn the mouse back on, push connect, and wait for the pair-connection to complete. I've replaced the batteries with fresh (and checked with voltmeter with a resolution of 1 millivolt) batteries twice, and talked to the support folks at the local Microsoft store, without success.
Oh, yeah. Update says I have the latest driver.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Re-HP-Bluetooth-mouse-x4000b-disconnecting-on-Windows-10/td-p/5437366
I have a an HP bluetooth mouse x4000b. I am able to easily have the laptop recognize the device, and it will work for a period of hours or days. Then the laptop will cease to recognize the mouse, even though it is still listed in the control panel under "devices". I am running Windows 7 Pro. I see on the Microsoft community there was a fix for this, but that page was quite old and the link no longer available. Anyone have an idea? Thank you.
Could you please give me the exact product number for your computer?

Hi all, I recently purchased an HP Bluetooth Mouse x4000b to pair with my Dell 2-in-1 laptop/tablet running Windows 10. Almost immediately after the initial successful pairing with the computer, the mouse disconnected. I've turned the mouse off and back on again (after a few seconds, then again after a few minutes) and that NEVER worked. The only thing that works somewhat (maybe about 75% of the time) is turning off the computer and restarting it. Which gets really annoying, especially since this is my work computer. I've searched the boards for fixes and elsewhere online and tried several suggestions for the earlier versions of Windows but those have not worked either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi there @Percivale?,Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you have a problem with a x4000b mouse disconnecting after paired. I am happy to assist you with this. I checked the support page for the HP X4000b Bluetooth Mouse, and there do not seem to be any drivers up. You could try this: HP PCs - Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update (Windows 10, 8) You should also check with Dell Support - www.dell.com/support. It is possible that there is something going on with the Bluetooth device or drivers on the system itself. Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Bluetooth-mouse-x4000b-disconnecting-on-Windows-10/td-p/5408233
i purchased a hp bluetooth mouse x4000b but cannot connect to my hp pavilion g series laptop, even after downloading the bluetooth drivers for the laptop & drivers for the mouse. how do i go about this please. thanks.
Hi, The first question you should ask yourself: What is my HP g6 and does it support Bluetooth ? Now, I don't know what is your g6 therefore I can't answer your second question. All I know is many HP g6 laptops don't support Bluetooth and users can use USB Bluetooth dongle/adapter as an option. Before going out to buy an adapter, now, what is your g6 ? Please use the following instructions to find out: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108 Regards.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/how-to-connect-hp-bluetooth-mouse-x4000b-to-hp-pavilion-g/td-p/5813266
Hi everyone I would like to know which bluetooth module I need to get bluetooth on this laptop.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19989501
I cannot seem to successfully work Bluetooth on my E4300. I've tried countless drivers and various troubleshooting processes and still no luck.
The Bluetooth capability is there, I know, and the light on the keyboard toggles on and off with the hard wifi switch. I've searched online for hours and found nothing that has helped so far... Other than learning that it might be a problem with Windows 7 and its infamous driver issues.
Hi Chloberxox and Welcome to TSF,
What exact issue are you having with the bluetooth device?
Are you unable to pair devices? or is the device marked with an error in the device management?
Please get back to us with a proper problem description, detailing exactly when and where the issue is, as otherwise we're unable to assist you.
Good morning. I have 3 Dell Latitude Laptops that I just reinstalled the OS (Windows 7 Professional) on and I can't get the Bluetooth Adapter installed. According to the Dell Website it requires the Wireless 380 software which I have tried to install directly from Dell but it fails stating "I need to activate the Wireless Switch" I have verified that this is turned on in the BIOS and even called Dell to look at the computer. According to Dell this is a driver issue that they want $129.00 to fix. Can someone please help me get this working.
For different reasons, my laptops have had the BlueTooth fail. What I finally ended up doing:
With my AV & AM set to leave the In Search Of alone, and, if you have your Windows Update function turned off, it must be ON during this In Search Of.
Uninstall all Bluetooth software that can be uninstalled via Control Panel --> Programs.
Then immediately went into Control Panel's Device Manager and uninstalled all the found Bluetooth adapters [I have two in there]. Then, I Restarted.
I left Windows 7 alone, I let it come to full Desktop and allowed Windows all on its own to search for and find the necessary Bluetooth drivers, after it checked all thingies with green checkmarks, I restarted again. After all of that: so far, my Bluetooth adapter remains fully usable.
I just reread your opening, your Bluetooth is a Dell-special, my ideas above may/may not work for you. If you know the exact specs of the built-in Bluetooth, you might be able to "bypass Dell software," download and install the Bluetooth manufacturer's software.
Type of Dell Latitude E6400 computer has Bluetooth, but does not function
First of all check if your Bluetooth is turned on.If the Bluetooth tray icon has a red mark then click on icon and turn bluetooth adapter on.Can you transfer files to/fro from your laptop to any other Bluetooth device e.g cellphone.
The most common solution to Bluetooth problems are the re-installation of Bluetooth drivers.
I have windows 7 professional 64 bit operating system and trying to connect samsung galaxy s4 . It connects but had exclamation mark and while troubleshooting it tells me that Bluetooth peripheral driver missing

Hi Welcome to Seven Forums .. I take it your Bluetooth Driver is Installed ? ...
Have you Downloaded any Software for your Phone ? ...
Hi there, trying to connect using bluetooth on my dell e6400 but it isn't working. Bluetooth indicator led is on and when i scan for devices with Bluetooth, search results on windows 7 don't show any device. Although in my mobile phone Bluetooth search shows "dell 370 Bluetooth minicard" and when i tap to connect it says "unable to pair. incorrect pin or password". I have tried connecting to other Bluetooth devices but same results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Under Settings->Connected Devices have you tried the "Add a device"? option to see if it shows there? I had a similar issue with a Bluetooth mouse that wouldn't pair. I had to delete it from the Bluetooth device list and then add it with the Add a Device option.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19989297
Sometimes the mouse (the built in touch pad) on my Dell Latitude laptop stops......and it works again. Hardware issue? Or something else?

Starting today, my older Latitude c840's mouse pointer has started drifting. I thought it was my usb mouse had gone bad but I unplugged it to use the touch pad, it still drifts. If it matters it just goes toward the top of the screen. I tried reloading the driver but to no avail. Anyone have an idea?
Do you have a pointer stick in the middle of the keyboard? I have heard that disabling that may solve the problem.http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/solved-dell-latitude-c840-mouse-has-its-own-mind-341155.html
We recently purchased some Dell Latitude D830 laptops and are using them on a Windoows XP system.
Each laptop has a docking station and USB mouse.
The issue is that some users are experiencing a type of "jumping" of their mouse pointer. They could be moving fine then it would just stop, and then reappear somewhere else on the page.
So far we have:
Replaced the mouse.
Replaced the laptop.
Re-imaged the laptop.
Replaced the user's profile.
Removed the docking station.
Swapped the jumper cables at the workstaion and in the server room.
Tried a ps/2 mouse.
Nothing has helped.
Has anyone else had this problem and if you so, how did you resolve it?
Thanks for any help.
I just test the fans with two 1.5v battery and they work fine, but the problem is that

that would have been my first suggestion - sounds like the adapter is intermittently faulty
What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, Mcafee , AVG , Webroot etc
i have seen these cause this type of issue before
also try safemode with networking - wireless often does not work in this mode anyway - but just in case
safemode with networking
as the PC starts keep tapping F8 - a menu appears - choose
safemode with networking - see if that works
I can t see biometrics hardware on control panel.
What driver/software should install to use fingerprint.
I run windows 10 Pro 32 on my laptop.
Hi, I just bought a new external USB webcam (plug & play device). It works fine with several desktops I tried, but when I try to use it with my Dell Latitude D620 laptop running Windows XP Pro, it does not install properly. The error message I get is that the driver is either missing or corrupt. I tried a different plug & play USB camera that works with other computers running Windows XP, but got the same error message on my laptop. Any idea how to get this fixed? Thanks.
Did anyone answer your question, I have the same issue with a Lattitude E5410, win 7 32bits. I have tried 3 different webcams which all work on different laptops.
Hello I have this odd problem in my Dell Latitude D core duo where one of work D520 memory slot Dell doesn't Latitude the memory slots isn t working anymore Just yesterday the Laptop would not startup but lights on the front panel came on Dell Latitude D520 memory slot doesn't work so I suspected a memory issue The D has a slot underneath the keyboard for memory as well as underneath the laptop When ever I put memory in the slot under the keyboard it won t startup I tried various memory known to work I even took the memory from underneath the laptop and placed it under the keyboard because it worked underneath But once I placed the memory in the slots under the keyboard it would not startup I would just get three green lights next to the power key Dell Latitude D520 memory slot doesn't work One stayed the other blinked they all eventually stopped entirely Once I removed the memory it would start up I Dell Latitude D520 memory slot doesn't work tried cleaning the memory slot with an air can I ve never encountered this before For now I just run with gig memory stick underneath the laptop It works fine I am assuming a motherboard issue Any suggestion greatly appreciated nbsp
Sure sounds like the socket is bad, or the memory controller. You may have to live with a single DIMM in the bottom slot.
Hi Recently I acquired a Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse It works perfectly well both on my Android tablet and on my old but efficient Netbook still running valiantly under XP SP Never a does work Mouse not Bluetooth desktop on Win 10 problem in pairing the mouse on these two machines and no problem either with the Logitech Bluetooth portable keyboard K which is a Bluetooth Mouse does not work on Win 10 desktop real marvel in its own right On the Android Lollipop tablet Bluetooth is built in while the built-in Bluetooth feature on the Netbook gave up some time ago but was replaced by a dongle Bluetooth Mouse does not work on Win 10 desktop which does its job without a hiccup So far so good On my desktop running on Windows which has no built-in Bluetooth capability but the Bluetooth quot service quot coming with Windows I use the same dongle as on the Netbook With the Logitech keyboard mentioned above no problem whatsoever Bluetooth quot sees quot it immediately and pairs it in seconds - so there is certainly nothing wrong either with the dongle or with pairing a device or the Bluetooth drivers and softwares which came with the dongle or with the Windows Bluetooth properties which are correctly started and functioning It's the Microsoft Mouse that presents an apparently intractable problem on that same desktop When activating the Mouse so that it can be detected when one wants to add a device it is quot seen quot almost immediately It is when wanting to pair the device to the machine that the problem arises The pairing as such takes a far longer time than it normally does and when that operation concludes I get error messages saying either that the mouse did not send the correct pairing code OR that it did not send a pairing reaction at all So this is quite mysterious Having a device that functions perfectly well with other machines and not at all on my powerful desktop while it can be detected and while other devices function normally I guess that the problem resides with that quot code quot However Windows does not ask for it and Microsoft says that the mouse does not need one - which makes things even more strange since it mentions a code when the pairing misfires Attached some screenshots They are in Dutch language of my Win OS but the images speak for themselves The error message on the rd screenshot says quot Communication with Bluetooth device has failed No pairing reaction received quot Sometimes after bootup the error message says failure but quot Bluetooth device sends wrong code quot I wonder if someone will find a solution to this riddle Best haku
I have 2 Notebooks with Bluetooth and find that having their own mouse works much better/more reliably than switching 1 mouse from one to the other. I also have a Bluetooth mouse on my MacBook Pro. Two of the mice are from Microsoft and the third is from Targus. I also have a Bluetooth dongle on a Win7 computer for pairing my phone and PDA. It is important to have the drivers for the Bluetooth dongle. The Notebook Bluetooth adapters are part of the Wi-Fi adapter.http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/39649-bluetooth-mouse-does-not-work-win-10-desktop.html
The Bluetooth BT mouse of my laptop with build-in BT module seems to work just does why work? .... Bluetooth it works, mouse but fine However I don't understand why the Bluetooth mouse works because in the Controlpanel Network and Internet Network Connections the Adapter Bluetooth Device Personal Area Bluetooth mouse works, but .... why does it work? Network is DISABLED On the other hand in Device Manager- gt Bluetooth Radios there are two entries Bluetooth Module Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator MBE If I disable only the MBE then the BT mouse stops working If I disable Bluetooth mouse works, but .... why does it work? the Bluetooth Module then MBE disappears all together and the mouse stops working too So it is the MBE that controls the mouse but what is then the relationship between the MBE and the Bluetooth Adapter in Controlpanel Network And Internet Network Connections Are MBE and the Bluetooth Adapter in Network Connections two parallel Bluetooth structures stacks alongside each other Or does the Bluetooth Adapter sits on a higher level and get access to the Bluetooth hardware module of the laptop through the two Bluetooth Radio entries in Device Manager I've been reading about the OSI model and trying to figure out what Bluetooth components in Windows sit where exactly in the OSI model but it remains fuzzy to me how Bluetooth Device Manager components relate to the Bluetooth Network Adapter Can anyone shed some more light on the relationship between the Bluetooth Device Manager components and the Bluetooth Adapter Any info about websites or docs with some in-depth content about the relationship could help too Thanks in advance johan
I see you didnt get a reply.
As far as I remember The connection listed on the network connections page as Blue tooth Pan is a Network Connection allowing you to connect to the internet say via a smart fone or other bluetooth enabled device with an internet connection.
Blue devices such as a mouse or keyboard are listed on the devices page
Hope this helps
My wife just got a new laptop. It's one of the 13" sizes, so it's got only 2 USB ports but it has an internal Bluetooth card.
I'm thinking of gettinh a wireless mouse - Logitech VX Nano, specifically. I was looking thru it's details online and I can't figure out if wireless mice can connect via BT or is that little USB wireless dongle that it comes with work on a different frequency or something specific for wireless mice.
The Logitech VX Nano is not a bluetooth mouse. If you want a bluetooth mouse, you must purchase one made specifically to connect via bluetooth.
If you did a Google search with the words "bluetooth mouse," (w/out the quotes), here are the results you would get :
P.S. The link above may appear with a smilie in the middle of it - it won't post any other way unless I disable smilies; however, if you click on the link, it still works.
I recently bought a new laptop (ASUS K70IC) that has no Bluetooth (BT). I also bought a Bluetooth mouse with it, Genius 905BT and an USB Bluetooth dongle, I thought that would work. But it doesn't. Other Bluetooth devices show up when I search for them, but the mouse doesn't. I tried that in XP SP3 too (desktop PC) but it doesnt show up there either.
So my questions are:
1. Does anyone have a configuration of a BT USB dongle + BT mouse?
2. Do you think it should work? (BT dongle + BT mouse)
Have you put your mouse into the "Discovery Mode"?http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/51551-bluetooth-mouse-doesnt-work.html
I just purchased a Dell Blue Tooth Travel Mouse. When trying to connect it finds the mouse, says it has connected and then a window with a countdown clock shows and says click to confirm with mouse but the mouse will not work. I called Dell and after 1/2 hour they said it was a long process to set-up and would charge me $60.00, I only paid $14 for the mouse.
I am running Windows XPS2 on a Dell Inspiron 1520.
Looking for any assistance as this mouse is new and was only released a week ago.
I post this to assist others - I ve already found the quot solution quot to my problem I recently upgraded a year old Dell laptop to Windows Pro 7 in BT (Bluetooth) Travel Dell Windows Mouse 5-Button I use a Dell -Button BT Bluetooth Travel Mouse that came with the laptop The default mouse bluetooth drivers in Win supported the basic mouse functions Under Vista I could easily customize the functions associated with the various Mouse buttons but not so in Win I searched the Dell Support website for an nbsp updated mouse driver unsuccessfully and then contacted Dell Support Even though my system is Dell 5-Button BT (Bluetooth) Travel Mouse in Windows 7 still under warranty I was told that I d have to pay an extra fee for the Dell Solution Center Team to provide me with the Dell Mouse driver for Win I said quot No thank you quot and continued to research my issue I discovered that the Dell -Button BT Travel Mouse is actually manufactured by Logitech I went to the Logitech website and found their updated software for Win Fortunately the same software supports most of Logitech s mice -- it is called quot Setpoint quot I downloaded and installed the software It immediately recognized the Dell BT Travel Mouse and I am now able to customize the five mouse buttons again Logitech offers Setpoint versions for -bit and -bit Windows The -bit version may be found at http logitech-louk navisite net web ftp pub techsupport mouse setpoint exe

I have a laptop lenovo ThinkPad T420 and I had the OS upgraded from Windows 7 32Bit to Windows 7 64 Bit.
My Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 can be detected and is listed as one of the Bluetooth devices, however the mouse does not move.
I did some google-ing to try to trouble-shoot and I tried the following:
Go to the Power Management page and clear the checkbox ?Allow the computer to
turn off this device to save power?. And finally, relief! No more disconnects.
Apparently there is a bug in the power management of the Bluetooth driver
under Windows 7.
But it did not help.
Can someone help me ?
Found the following link where member: jetpack1976 resolved my problem:
MS Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 not working
Went to another site and found a solution that worked. You might want to try it out.
Go to START icon and type in services.msc and select services.
The dialog box that opens has a long list of stuff but look for BLUETOOTH SUPPORT SERVICE. Double click to open. Make sure it is AUTOMATIC. Go to the LOG tab. Choose THIS ACCOUNT and type in LOCAL SERVICE. A list of password (a 15-dot string) would appear. Delete all the password in the PASSWORD and under CONFIRM. Choose Okay.
It will ask you to restart the service. Once restarted, turn on your bluetooth adaptor again. Put your mouse in pairing mode and add the mouse. It works perfectly!!!
Give it a try and see if it helps.
recently bought a Dell latitude E6420 i5-2520M 8GB and I am experiencing a very annoying issue with the speakers.
The sound coming from the speakers worked until I plugged in the headphones jack into the computer for the first time - when I unplugged the headphones internal speakers stop to work completely.
What I have tried so far with no success:
Uninstall and reinstall windows audio/sound drivers
Tried Realtek drivers
Recovery and reinstall Windows 10
What is strange is that every time I uninstall and reinstall the sound drivers the speakers start to work again until i plug the jack of the headphones and again speakers stop to work. Any Idea?
Please let me know what you need to know about my computer to better understand the problem and I will amend the question accordingly.
I resolved installing windows native audio drivers
Apparently, this is a known issue with the Realtek drivers on the Dell Latitude.
I had to reinstall WinXP on my Dell XPS M1530, and now Windows doesn't detect the bluetooth unit. The symbol in the line with power buttons etc is lighted though. I have software from before, but could only copy, not install it. What I find works only in Vista. Broadcom's own bluetooth software does neither detect a bluetooth nor work without that. In the control panel there is no icon for bluetooth, even though Windows help suggests exactly that.
Does anyone know how to do that? It worked before, but now I can't figure out how, even after hours of googling...

hello i have both these dell and Dell e6430 latitude latitude e6420 laptops well i have bought a Dell latitude e6430 and dell latitude e6420 e for my girlfriend as the other one she has is crap well i have read that these e get warm and well i found out they come with one pipe heatsink well Dell latitude e6430 and dell latitude e6420 i heard u can upgrade the heatsink to a pipe one DUAL HEATPIPE heatsink DELL P N - TYP i was wondering what else do i need to do this as when i get this laptop its second hand i pro in it ghz im going to clean it out and put new paste on it put i hear people are on about this copper shim to put on it can this be done and well can i upgrade my dell latitude e i pro ghz heatsink with the Dell latitude e6430 and dell latitude e6420 double heatsink as i know that one only comes with one pipe love you guys info if you guys can help me would be class thanks i got this info here GPU Temperature C on Latitude E - General Hardware - Laptop - Dell Community
Joseph mate best leave as is after all it was made to function as it came. Now for the compound and copper shim personally I would not bother with the copper shim I can see no good reason for it the dual pipe again if it was made to work with one pipe then leave alone.
It is better if you renew the compound using a decent cleaner and compound and I can recommend these for that job
Arctic Silver Incorporated - ArctiClean for thorough cleaning and preparation and Arctic Silver Incorporated - Arctic Silver 5 for the compound.
Now it depends on who you listen to but I always use these products and after the old compound is thoroughly cleaned off and the surfaces prepped I spread the compound very thinly and across the both entire surface of the CPU and the heatsink with my finger inside a vinyl or latex glove and then place a rice grain sized piece of compound on the CPU and replace the heatsink. If you touch the surfaces after clean and prep then redo it.
While you are in there do make sure the fan and the radiator are really spotless and I sometimes relube the fan bearings to make sure the fan is running at full tilt when needed.
i dont know what do to and how to update the drivers i dont have a cd player on laptop so how would i fix this problem
i searched for drivers on dell and it says there is 1 crystal something audio driver thats avalible for my laptop can i download it as my current thing is a sigmatel driver should update it
It looks like neither of the drivers above support bluetooth in Windows 10 Home 64-bit, but someone might be able to help.
The WiGig card's driver is the latest, and the 3YX8R cannot be detected by any means!
Thanks a lot.
My old dell had too small a hard drive, and being too lazy to install a new one, I took out my IBM thinkpad and hooked it up instead, the dell mouse works with it, but its registering as an IBM mouse, and the scroll wheel won't work. Also I hooked up a Dell Trinitron 21'' monitor, and that won't work at all, I just get a black screen. Any thoughts?
Neither my keyboard or mouse are working on any of the 7 USB ports on my computer. My mouse was initially working, but I read somewhere if you delete the keyboard drivers you can reinstall them and it will work again. BUT when I was doing that I stupidly uninstalled my mouse driver so now NOTHING works. I can't try if it works in safe mode because my keyboard doesn't respond when I hit f12 during boot up.
When I plug in the mouse or keyboard, I get a window that pops up asking if I want to install the hardware, but it's impossible for me to do anything because my mouse and keyboard don't work! If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks!
First I would try to find a different working keyboard because you should at less be able to boot into safe mode because the drivers don't even load until windows start loading.
I already have the issue that when I put my E to sleep and wake it up again that the keyboard and touchpad do not work So I have disable the sleep options in the BIOS Now I run into different issues Yesterday I booted the laptop and it hang on the DELL logo After a while it stated that - External to - resons E5570 do display/keyboard/mouse work display, Black Latitude no keyboard/touchpad my EFI file would not be correct Force reboot and it booted straight to Windows What s more annoying is the fact Latitude E5570 - Black display, no resons to keyboard/touchpad - External display/keyboard/mouse do work that the laptop boot the DELL logo is shown and then the screens go s black as if it s not connected SO it looks like it hangs BUT an external monitor through HDMI does work and show the windows logon The keyboard and touchpad also do not work External mouse and keyboard do work So pretty much I got a brick when I do not have external display keyboard and mouse available When I reboot the laptop it works fine again Am I the only one with this Loads of issues with the laptop and wondering if I just have a faulty laptop Clean Windows Pro install is done times Used the nbsp DELL Command Update to install all drivers and patches Issues keep existing
I have been spending a lot of hours in troubleshooting this week.
Diagnostics are 100% ok.
Reinstalled Windows 10 about 15 times.Installing drivers by hands, installing drives trhough the dell update management application. The issues keeps existing.
To sum the them up:- Cold boot (laptop is off) to Windows. Keyboard/Touchpad do not work. (Reboot and they work again)- Resume from sleep. Keyboard/Touchpad do not work. (Reboot and the work again)
After I got the laptop I installed 32Gb of RAM and an 512Gb Samsung 950Pro PCIE M.2 NVME drive. The drive should be support as Dell states on the product page and in the manual that PCIE with NVME is supported.
"Advanced features, like industry-leading M.2 SATA and M.2 PCIe/NVME solid state drives, provide data transfer speeds up to 4x faster over traditional hard drivers. "
In order to get the drive visible and running on PCIe I had to disable the sata controller in the BIOS.This way the drive is detected in Windows as an PCIe NVME capable drive.
Just to verify if the issues I went back to default with the delivered 256Gb M.2 sata drive and 8Gb RAM.To install Windows I had to turn the Sata controller back on.
Installed the drivers manually updated WIndows and tested. The issues do NOT occur.
Retested by installing the drivers using the Dell Update Application. The issues do NOT occur.
So I figured out that the SATA controller somehow is the guilty part for all the issues.I mean when enabled to ACHI or RAID the sleep and non working keyboard/touchpad issues do not occur.
When disable the issues DO occur.
So DELL can you please tell me how I can fix this as you state PCIe NVME drives are supported??
I was trying to pair up a bluetooth speaker to the laptop and it wasnt working so I thought try some bluetooth drivers, when installing this driver Dell_Wireless-360-Module-wit_A01_R155463 the laptop crashed when it was at this stage, pic below
Now the bluetooth wont work or show up in device manager.
Any help to get the bluetooth going would be appreciated.
buy another bluetooth chip ?
Hello, I have a Dell Latitude D610 and I am trying to connect to a bluetooth device but I can't find the settings for bluetooth in windows. Are there some drivers that I need to install, or an option to enable bluetooth somewhere that I am just not seeing? Thanks!
Did you order Bluetooth when you got your laptop? I believe it was an optional. Here's a link to the Dell website that has the driver...although it should already be installed by default...so maybe the second link below would be more helpful.Let us know.Latitude D610 -Driver downloadsalso see...How to install and configure Bluetooth devices in Windows XP Service Pack 2http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/48202/bluetooth-on-a-latitude-d610/
Hi Greetings I would like to ask for your assistance because I m already out of ideas how to resolve this issue Right after I powered up the laptop E5450 screen dell Latitude start logo after up blank DELL it will get past the DELL logo screen then it will be completely just black screen I wouldn t even hear any activity from the CPU fan HDD and pressing DELL Latitude E5450 blank screen after dell logo start up the Caps Lock doesn t lit up the LED The LED indicators on the side are only displaying the power indicator but none for HDD Battery and Wireless Here are the steps that I have done so far Removed the HDD and Battery then press amp hold the power button for at least - seconds to disperse the internal voltage Then attach the Battery but not the HDD Press and hold Fn and then the Power button hoping to boot me up to the ePSA Diagnostic Utility Press F or F while booting up Re-seat the memory and also clean with a dry tissue These are the procedures that I have done but nothing has changed It still displays blank screen right after the DELL logo I do hope that you could assist me on this Thank you so muchhttp://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19988623
I have a Dell latitude 2100 laptop, with a Dell 365 Bluetooth module.
I finally got around to installing the driver (from Dell) to make it work.
It installed fine and everything, but it tells me that, to turn on the Bluetooth module:
"Activate Bluetooth using Fn+F2 or Radio on/off switch"
But I don't have a physical switch, and Fn+F2 is already reserved for the battery control.
And I tried clicking to turn it on, but it tells me to either use the switch or the function button.
Is there a way around this, or some other bluetooth control software I can use?
Thank you in advance
I got new Dell latitude E6440 with windows 8.1 pro but the Bluetooth is not working I tried every thing (enable the Bluetooth from BIOS ,reinstall the driver) but nothing help.
Also had this issue now, was resolved after removing the generic Bluetooth drivers and installing the following -
Pretty much what the title says - Dell's new, recently-released ControlVault driver (version A19) does not successfully install on a Dell Latitude E6330. I followed the driver installation order from the "Dell Business Client Re-Image 'How-To' Guide" and installed the Dell ControlVault driver last. It did not work.
Attached is a screenshot of what I got, and the Windows Installer log.
I installed Windows 7 64-bit on my Latitude E6400. I cannot seem to find any way to install Dell Control Point. I got the Driver Pack to install. I found one download of Security Manager that worked, but I would like the Power Manager one.
I've looked on this forum a few times and any links I click on just redirect me to the Drivers and Downloads page. I get errors saying that my service pack is not supported.....I'm on Windows 7 Service Pack 1. I also got some 32-bit errors, but that's my fault for downloading the 32-bit version.
Does anybody have a link to the full Dell Control Point package (Power Manager, Connection Manager, Security Manager) that will work on 64-bit Windows 7?
Here is a good article on reimaging the Latitude E6400
The Win 7 Control Point System Manager files are a bit tricky to find, but they can be downloaded from the following link.
This should help if you have installed the correct drivers in the correct order.
I have a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop running W7 64 bit Pro, 8 Gig Memory. Would goning to a Bluetooth keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse create problems, or should I just stay with the wired connections? The keyboard and the mouse as of this time would be my only bluetooth devices. It does have the internal Bluetooth.
Thanks in Advance
no it shouldn't ...do you just want lack of cords?? if you have a set in mind post a link to it and we might be able to advise whether its good purchase or not

Every couple of months I have an issue with my Latitude 3550 laptop where the Bluetooth stops functioning out of the blue (pun kind of intended). The error I get is:
Disabling / enabling or uninstalling /reinstalling the Bluetooth under Device Manager does not fix it. Neither does reinstalling the driver. So far the only thing I have found that resolves it is to update (or reapply) the latest BIOS firmware. Then it works again for a couple of months.
Any reason that this would keep happening, or at least is there a lesser means to fix this issue? Thanks for any input you may have!
for the basics and schoolwork
and which is newer
The E6430 has a metal case and is more robust, but uses an older CPU and chipset.
The E5440 is a plainer chassis with a newer generation CPU and chipset.
The E6440 is the concurrent update to the E5440.
There are too many possible configurations to definitively say which is better -- it depends on the CPU, GPU, etc. in the specific model (or that you choose when you order one, but since the E6430 isn't a current model, you may be looking at used systems).
I've been able to add my headset as a bluetooth device but I cannot play sound through my headset. It is added if look in my "Playback devices" but the icons (bluetooth headset and bluetooth headphones) are greyed out and if I right-click and then click "Connect" nothing happens.
I have tried to install this package:
But to no avail
I have the identical problem on my Win 7 E6440 Latitude with a BT headset speaker, an Anker A7910.
Do you have any solution? I've tried a lot of things, but incl. getting the BT drivers from a different spec. Win 7 Latitude which works with the device.
Any tips welcomed!

Anyway it connects fine but if I stop using it for like an hour or whatever it disconnects and nothing I do will reconnect it unless I take my other mouse, go into bluetooth devices, delete it and readd it all over again.
WHY THE HELL does it keep doing this lol?

It's your dongle. I have the same mouse and it works absolutely fine. I'll bet you have the USB option set to power the dongle down when unused. How's the radio in the mouse supposed to wake up a sleeping dongle?

Hi, I have a windows 7. I have found the bluetooth in my computer, it says "fsquirt" aswell. When I open the file, it says send files or recieve files. So if i click on Send Files, it says " select where to send your files" with a large box under it which i cannot type in. If i press recieve files, it says " windows was unable to transfer some files, an address incompatible with the requested protocol was used.
So i dont know how to fix this!?! Help please? I'm trying to send videos from my phone to my computer via bluetooth!
Over the past couple weeks I get a notification to update the Intel 8260/7260 Bluetooth device on my Latitude E5540 from driver updates at Dell (Dell Command Update). The update downloads ok and starts to install, then a black mini window comes up like the old dos window but without a prompt and after a few minutes or secs the installation stops and I get a message saying it failed. This has happened about 3-4 times over the past 2 weeks. Any advice as to what can be done? Thank you.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19984884
I own a Dell Latitude E6430. I am looking for a Dell Companion 12000mAh or 18000mAh type of device to power and charge my Dell Lattitude E6430 when I am traveling (no outlet available). When I view the compatibility list for both the Dell Companion 12000mAh and the 18000mAh I don't see the Dell Latitude E6430 in either list. I went and purchased the 12000mAh and I am attempting to use this to charge and power my Dell Latitude E6430. It powers my Dell Laptop for about a minute and then quits. Is there a solution for this problem? And/or is there another Dell Companion type device that I can purchase that is listed as 100% compatible with the Dell Latitude E6430? I would like to either get this solution working or purchase the product that is listed as 100% compatible.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19990270
I'm just wondering if there are any differences between the two. I have integrated bluetooth on my laptop, so I won't need a dongle for it. I also know bluetooth is slower than wireless usb, but does this have any effect for a mouse?
In terms of performance and accuracy, are there any advantages or disadvantages to either format? Why are bluetooth mice seemingly much less popular with manufacturers?
Thanks a bunch.
Here's some advantages and disadvantages
Bluetooth you can expect 30 feet distance from the EEE. Wireless IR you can expect from 4 to 6 feet.
Easy to setup and configure
You plug Wireless in and it just works. With Bluetooth , you have to use the command line to set things up, and you have to script it or else every time you boot you'll have to give it all the commands.
The Bluetooth wins this one. The wireless keyboard and mouse use a USB port and do not give you anything else. The Bluetooth adapter uses the same port, but also lets you connect Bluetooth stereo headphones, your mobile phone, etc.
It really depends on what your needs are. If your living room is 12 feet and you want to hook your EEE up to your PC and surf from your lazyboy at the other end of the room, infrared won't do it. If you want the keyboard in front of the standard EEE screen and just want a better one, then the wireless IR is fine.
Alright guys, I have just refreshed my pc because I was having numerous problems with it and it turned out to be a bad stick of RAM. However, now I am having software issues. Whenever I try to make a call on the desktop version of skype, the program crashes. Whenever I try to open HP support assistant, the program crashes. When i am using the metro app version of skype I get a weird artifacting type problem on any of the buttons. I have this same problem in internet explorer and on Netflix. Netflix will not play on Chrome. It will play on IE, but with the button artifacting problems. My computer will not pair via bluetooth with my phone. What would be your recommended course of action? I don't know where to begin. I have tried updating drivers and the like but it has not helped.
Microsoft zune won't work either. It crashes when trying to set up.http://www.eightforums.com/software-apps/40103-bluetooth-wont-work-skype-wont-work-ntflix-won-t-work.html
Typo on the title I ment Truemobile NOT I have an older Dell D I'm trying to breath some life back into and I thought I would try out Windows Well I got everything working good I think but the Dell Truemobile bluetooth Windows just won't see it No matter Bluetooth Issues 355 D400 with and Dell Dell Laptop, W7 what driver pack I try it says no bluetooth found The official Dell Vista pack asks me to turn on the bluetooth but I can't even figure out how to do that and the light on the laptop is not lit up I see dell has this app patch that it suppose to enable the bluetooth but that also tells me no blue tooth found I can't use my bluetooth cellphone as a modem help please That being said other people have been having the same issue with other laptops same internal bluetooth and W but what worked for them doesn't seem to want to work for me On a side note it work's under Windows XP just not W
I opened the computer, removed the BT, rebooted, shut down, reinstalled the BT, rebooted and it's working now.
Thanks anyway I guess.
Acer aspire's Bluetooth doesn't work since I bought it I've installed drivers too but it doesn't work what should I do.
In its specs it has Bluetooth . But there is no Bluetooth device found in device manager how to repair this.
Hi ... Welcome to Seven Forums ... What is the Model Number of your Laptop ? ...
Did you buy the Laptop from new ? ...
Did you mean Windows 7 x86 ?...
If your System Specs are correct you have 4 GB of ram ? ...
If that is the case your Windows should be 64 Bit ...
I have a Dell Latitude D630 and would like to get a Mogo x54 mouse for it. I know the mouse works in an x54 card slot and I know that the D630 has a PC card slot and the manual says it will use express cards. But I'm not sure if this mouse will actually work with it or not. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.
These had either PCMCIA (aka PC Card) or ExpressCard sockets as optional at the time of purchase. If your system has PC Card (PCMCIA) you cannot use the device you want. If it has ExpressCard rather than PCMCIA, you can use it (assuming there's a driver for the device for the OS you're running).http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19981063
about an hour ago my computer screen just froze and these vertical dotted lines appeared all over the screen. Now I can only start the computer in safe mode and i need an easy fix. ive already tried a system restore but the blue lines appears on my desktop again.
Hey whats up
I have a dell latitude cpx laptop, and I broke the two keys letter "Y" and "6" also the metal bracket that connects the key plate to the actual laptop. Anyone know where I can get this. the problem started by the keys not working when pushed down. Any ideas on why that happened as well.

Thats a normal problem for those keyboards. You could probably have gotten those keys working again by reseating the cable from the motherboard to the keyboard. Now it sounds like you need a new keyboard. You can probably get one from Dell or possibly find a used one from ebay. Replacements can also be found online like this.

I stumbled across your site and noticed a thread where you helped out a non-techie like me and I thought I would register and give it a shot. My daughter asked me to fix her Dell Latitude cpi which she uses for her college work. That was the easy bit it was a dodgy on/off button. Then she asked me to get it connected to the internet through her cable modem. I thought that would be easy too but I have spent hours on the internet trying to find what sort of adapter is needed because there is no direct socket connection to fit the modem. I would be eternally grateful for any help you can offer and it would make me look good in my daughter's eyes.
Hi, I have just brought a Dell Latitude CPx back from the dead and it is working wonderfully apart from the fact that the Function (FN) keys don't 'function'.
Any ideas please?
When you say you brought it back from the dead, how so? Did you have a Dell recovery disk, or did you install an OS from a box into it? Was the keyboard okay before hand, or was it part of the reason for it being DOA originally?
The CPx series were one of those 'semi'-Dell machines, since the same notebook could be purchased in a number of liveries, including HP and Gateway (your machine looks exactly like my Solo 1400). If you loaded an operating system into it that wasn't from a recovery disk, then you probably need to download the drivers from the Dell website into it. Otherwise, the keyboad may be out of sorts, and may need replacing.
If you can find the service tag number (on Dell laptops, they tend to be on a thin white label and are only 6 to 8 digits long), you can punch it in here (http://support.dell.com/support/top...y_systems_info/details?c=us&l=en&s=gen&~tab=2) to find out what was on this beastie originally, and what can be downloaded to it.

Plz help me in this issue, how i can break this password.
I tried my best to break this but could not.
can any expert help me regarding this matter.
Any Latitude ending in 595B has been handled by Dell. Contact them for a solution.
Also, search the files on this forum for Dell Password, and Password commentary. There is a lot of useful information.
I have not seen any X1 password fixed... except by Dell.
Hi,I am new here and need help.
I have a laptop(dell latitude cpi) my kid entered a password and now I can't access windows.
Every time I turn it on a message comes on saying:This computer system#xxxxx is protected by a password authentication system you can not access the data without the correct password Please type in the primary or administrator password.
My problem is that my kid does not remember what password he used.
Does any body Knows how to remove the password since I can not access the bios either?
sorry we cant help u with passwords as we dont know the intent involved.i hope u understand.
Hi everyone This is a long shot I ve got a machine from about here and am hoping someone might be able to remember something about them XPi - Dell hot very Latitude Old It s small black and very chunky - the Dell Latitude XPi CD mhz I needed something with windows so I upgraded the drive from gb to a Samsung HM JC gb Basically I ve got some games that don t work with compatibility in XP at all All fine and dandy with swapping the hard drive but the underneath of the machine gets universally hot as hell I don t seem to be able to detect a fan much less any cooling vents Would I be right in thinking that it was fine with the gb and it needed neither a fan or cooling vents but that my latter day gb drive runs that Old Dell Latitude XPi - very hot much hotter I actually love this laptop but want to waste neither it or the drive so any suggestions much welcome I ve tried the Dell site but the documentation I found wasn t hugely informative about the specific problems I m having though to their credit all of the setup files were there for download Many thanks Tony nbsp
If your new hard drive is higher RPM than the old drive, then that would explain the heat. Your old drive was probably 4500 RPM, and the new one 5400 or 7200. If that is true, there's not much you can do about it short of buying a new drive.
Ok so here s the problem I have a Dell Latitude CPx J OGT BIOS Revision really my I need Dell Latitude... help with A I also have the Windows XP Pro Reinstallation CD with Service Pack The original problem was upon bootup the computer gave a STOP error STOP x A x x BD xE B x BB AD I tried booting from the Reinstallation CD and this is what happens At Windows Setup it gives me -artition Unknown MB MB Free It gives me the following options and I have provided the information on what happens when I try each of them Create Partition C - Nothing Happens Enter Run Setup - An error has occured while Setup was updating partition information on MB Disk at Id on bus on atapi MBR Setup cannot continue Then the computer restarts Delete Partition D - I really need help with my Dell Latitude... The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant Please contact your system vendor or visit http www hardware-update com for an updated BIOS If you are unable to obtain an updated BIOS of the latest BIOS supplied by your vendor is not ACPI compliant you can turn off ACPI mode during text mode setup To do this simply press the F key when you are prompted to install storage drivers The system will not notify you that the F key was pressed - it will silently disable ACPI and allow you to continue your installation Recovery Console does not work either What I gather from this is that the partition is not assigned a prompt For example C and I cannot figure out how to give it one Anyone have any advice Thanks in advance nbsp

Hey there ive got a friends latitude XT here just put 7 on it and its working perfect apart from the tablet buttons.(the ones that rotate the screen and things) they dont seem to be working and im not sure what drivers to get for it or what, its fully up to date now and still nothing.
please help me xD
HERE is the Dell Lattitude XT drivers. They have Win 7 64 bit and 32 bit drivers. Select the OS bit you have.
Keep in mind the correct and required install sequence for a Dell (and many others) is (1) Install Windows (2) Install Dell Laptop System Software (3) Install motherboard chipset drivers (4) Install device drivers including video, sound, ethernet, etc.
I am new to this site and joined because I have a technical problem with my 3 year old Dell Latitude 600. When I press the start button to start it, the little lights light for about 2-3 seconds and then shut off. Nothing even comes to the screen. Any ideas?
Sorry to be so long answering, ive been a bit busy, usual cause is faulty memory chips or ones that have just worked loose, if you have 2 chips try either in DImm1 socket and see if it works, failing that the board is going bad, do an Ebay search on the board and see what it costs to replace it.
First I must say hello all I have had a browes around seems I might fit in here nice place folks.
Now my quest I have been given a named above Dell, It runs very very slow OS is XP Home, now it has a
system memory 128MB Internal cache 256KB video memory 2.5MB H/Drive 6495 MB
Is there away I can adjust the 300 mhz to go either 450 or 500? If so can someone guide me on how please. ?

this is about a laptop, a classmate of mine, is selling, which reads "Dell Latitude 7400" and my friend is planning to buy that. but i cant find it over the net! i've tried searching with the model number but the search returns absolutely no result about it. [ finds other 7400s ] it has a little "centrino 2" sticker on it. so could it be very new or sth to be online?
Are you sure it's not a Latitude V740 or E6400? There is no "7400" model.http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/78097-dell-latitude-7400-a.html
On a Dell Latitude cpi r lap top, what is the function oif the jumnper labeled JB00 found underneath the key board close to the 24co2 chip? It has 5 volts on it and is connected to either the 1 or 8 pin and connects alos via a cap to the adjacent pin either 2 or 7pin,,,?? I am wonder if this is a possible reset jumper to disable the password for the chip?
No, it is not a reset jumper. There is not one on the CPI
I have a dell latitude d400 with an Intel Pentium M Processor 1.40 GHz. Im wondering if i could upgrade that to an Intel Core Duo, please help. Thanks. I have xp running on this.
Hi jkswimmer and welcome to Vista Forums
Sorry, but I don't recommend this. With a desktop system, then possibly. However, with laptops things are much more complicated. Power consumption and heat dissipation are the greatest concern and they are optimised for the current processor in the system. A replacement processor, if it is not identical, might have different power and thermal characteristics, in which case the system would fail to keep it within its normal working range. In addition to that, simply accessing the processor on a laptop is much more complicated than simply removing the side panel as you would on a desktop. You literally have to strip the laptop right down, being carefull not to lose the various small screws or damage the wiring and its connectors. And then, of course, you will need to repeat the procedure in reverse to reassemble it.
Personally, I would leave your laptop as it is, with one exception. To improve its performance, make sure that you have installed the maximum amount of memory that it supports (see manual for details).
i ha ve an dell latitude d620 but i can recover the bios password
the service tag is GLFYQ2J
any one help me plz
take a look at this thread and see if it helps
OK my brother has xp pro on his dell latitude d620 and it runs like crap I have a disc of xp pro from the store but its not the one that came with it can I just use majical jelly bean finder to get the product key and just install windows and worry about drivers after I have windows installed or do I need to put drivers on a cd now and can I use a flash drive
No. Only a version from Dell will work with his product key. And the one found by Jelly Bean is the wrong one - it is used on all Dell machines of that model and won't reinstall from the Dell disk. You need to use the number on the sticker on the machine. If his recovery partition is still there, restore using that.
Step-by-step instructions on how to re-format c drive on a Dell Latitude (old) with only 64 meg ram and clear current partitions (there are 4- two large, and two w/only 4 meg ram on them) to free-up enough space to do a clean install of XPPRO from "c prompt". Thanks in advance!
Welcome to TSG but you need to create your own thread. to do that you should click on the red triangle in this instance and ask a moderator for help.
then before you do anything with your computer you need to get a lot more RAM
you probably need to provide a bit more info on your computer to determine if this is a good idea to upgrade if this laptop is really old.
I got a dell Latitude D400 http://computerzenabled.com/oscart/images/Delld400.jpg from a friend but the OS need to be reloaded. Hello everyone I'm new here but I have a problem and need some help. I have a Dell latitude D505 when I turn it on I get a white screen that says:
This computer system, #3DQ3051-595B is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access the data on this computer without the correct password.
Any thought? Thanks in advance....
Where did you get the laptop from?
Hi! Acording to the online specs this laptop has Intel's HD Graphics 4400 GPU and AMD's Radeon HD 8850M graphics chip, but in device manager is just the intel graphics and when i try to install the amd driver , the amd auto-detect isn`t recognizing the video card. In dxdiag it shows just the intel graphics nothing about the radeon s 8850m . It`s like the video card isn`t there at all. What should i do ?http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/t/19989777
hello there not sure if this is windows related.well i have installed speedfan software and this laptop i have is at 55-60 running and the fan is quiet kind of i was wondering is there any way of speeding up my fan at lower temperatures.i cant figger out this speedfan settings and im afraid of frying my laptop.here is what i think is my fan maybe DELL $3E8 on ISA then it shows temperature 1 offset not sure what i should put that to.
Many (most) Dell's do not have user fan speed control. Its what it is. Laptops, in general, tend to run warm as they sacrifice extra cooling for reduction in fan noise.http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/387891-dell-latitude-e6430-i5-pro.html
Can any 1 help me i want master bios password of dell latitude c400 ...service tag #BZNZM11-595B .....plzz give me master password
Give dell a call.
I just purchased a Dell Latitude E4310 and have installed Windows 10 on it. Sadly i a just discovered that Dell doesn't support windows 10 Drivers for this Laptop.
This is actually frustrating as i had the option of going with a HP but chose DELL for superiority.
Will Drivers for Windows 10 (HD Graphics , Audio etc) for this make of Laptop be available & how soon or not so i can go for other options that allow the full functionalities and resource for Windows 10.
Unfortunately, I have no information if Dell will be creating Windows 10 drivers for this computer.
does anyone know if you can put bigger than a 40 gb hdd in a dell latitude d600 laptop.
all i am asking is if i can put a 160 gb hdd in a dell latitude d600, it it compatible
I have an E6400 running Vista and an E4300 running Windows 7. Both with regular HDD's, wanting to upgrade them to SSD's. I have the SSD's - a Crucial BX100 250G for the first, a 120G Toshiba for the E4300.
E6400; I have 'cloned' with EaseUS Todo Backup onto the SSD, apparently successfully, via CD caddy, but it won't boot up when I replace HDD with SSD. Just get a black screen with a cursor. Could it be just that it is thinner, so loose?
I haven't tried to do the E4300, so any tips there... also read it could be something to do with Windows 'hidden files' not being cloned?
Also wondering if Win 7 or Vista is better - been happy with 7, just got the Vista machine. If one is better, can I clone one onto both & do away with Vista, or vice versa?
When you boot into Windows and only the cursor is visible, click 1 (one) time only CTRL+ALT+DEL, select New Task, then navigate into the Windows folder, scroll down and click on explorer.http://www.pchelpforum.com/laptop-support/126119-dell-latitude-ssd-upgrade.html
