How can I fix this?Thank you!!!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Keyboard-mouse-touch-pad-and-touch-screen-won-t-work/td-p/5824972
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I want to buy this mouse to better work with my laptop.
Can somebody give me some feedback on how this glas pane works instead of a scrollwheel? Handling, etc.
Sorry I can't answer your question, but this post piqued my interest. I use the Logitech 620 touch mouse on a Windows 7 box at work. I find a little touchy and has to tweaked. But I haven't tried the 620 on Windows 8. Because I'm always looking for the perfect mouse, I think I might just pick up the 400 tonight and let you know.http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/23647-logitech-touch-mouse-400-laptop-no-touch-screen.html
My notebook will not work I have no keyboard,no Touch pad, mouse is frozen in the middle of the screen and I can not get past the HP welcome page. I have tried removing the battery etc nothing just the same. Please help ?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/No-keyboard-Touch-pad-and-no-mouse/td-p/5830683
To go with their new shiny operating system MS are launching their touch mouse.
You will be able to buy this at the bargain price of $79.99!!!!
Somehow I do not feel tempted to replace my 10year old 5 button mouse that has the paint worn off but still works perfectly. This cost the enormous sum Of ?4.50 call it $7; media keyboard ?6 ($9)
I've got a lot of old Ms hardware that I still use. They're pretty solid.
I'm really WTF on the price though. I can get a decent mechanical keyboard for less, and that will be significantly better in typing quality.
Hi guys I've just installed win on my media PC I'm really happy with it for the most part it's not worse then win there are some small but helpful changes to wmc Metro looks great on the tv There is just one problem when I click on text boxes in metro apps with the mouse I don't get a keyboard as you would if you touched the text box This is particularly annoying as I don't have a keyboard in my lounge room and it seems that there is a whole new interface that would be perfect on the tv that I can't use very effectively I know you can launch osk exe from the desktop and then switch to metro and it will stay on top but it's not really a very smooth solution So i suspect there is a reg hack that I can implement that will cause the mouse to launch the touch keyboard in metro - is there can someone tell me what touch mouse. a keyboard with metro it is or any other solutions that would enable me to effectively use the metro interface with only a mouse input would be great If this can't be done I really do think it's a massive oversight from Microsoft There is a good interface that is unusable without a keyboard or touch If i was to buy a new touch mouse would metro touch keyboard with a mouse. that do the trick or is it going to behave like a mouse in this respect Thank you very much for your assistance Liam P Clancyhttp://www.eightforums.com/general-support/13592-metro-touch-keyboard-mouse.html
my keyboard touchmouse not working ...i have updated all drivers, enabled and disables and enabled it again, it does not even appear under mouse in control panel, how to i get it 2 work?

It came up with the ntoskrnl.exe error came up again after the repair, but it can start up now.

My MS Arc Touch Mouse stopped working. A friend of mine who has the same mouse had lost his mouse's nanoreceiver and he had given his (almost new) mouse to me couple of years back (kept without batteries).
Now I'm left with one Arc Touch Mouse and one nanoreceiver v1.0. Is there any way I can pair the two? I tried to install Intellipoint and do something with it, but without luck. I'm using a Windows 10 laptop.
My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working. I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution. I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

First do a Power Drain
(If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

I have an Acer Aspire M computer with a touch screen that runs Windows I was having issues with the touch screen so I went to download the drivers from the Acer website However when I restarted my computer to complete the installation it wouldn't allow me to use either the mouse touch screen or keyboard Normally after loading a personalized picture will appear on the screen displaying the time connectibility and strength of the network The user No touch, reset keyboard input computer or mouse, after is then supposed to swipe up click on or press space to move the picture at which point the login screen No touch, mouse, or keyboard input after computer reset appears My computer loads normally when starting but won't allow me to use the mouse touch screen or keyboard to move the picture out of the way so I cannot access the login screen I have already contacted the Acer company support and attempted to use the battery reset pinhole but to no avail Is there anything I can do besides a factory reset or using it as a cat bed
using it as a cat bed
You could uninstall those drivers, looks like you will need to do it from outside windows.
You would need a decent winpe., which you probably don't have, nigh on impossible to make one given your situation.
System restore to just before the problem may do the job.
Try that and see.
Hello everyone, my touch screen on my lenovo ideapad z400 touch is not working anymore. The only weird thing I remember is some ghost touchpoint on my screen. Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.
Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.
If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.
I hope this links helps you.

Hi @frostygirl13, and thank you for your post.Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. My understanding of your post is that you are dealing with two issues, one, the projector lamp is on, when you expect it to be off, and two, the touch mat is not working for you. I am happy to give you a hand with this. For the first issue with the projector, I found the following post, with suggestions from forum experts @DavidPK and @WyreNut: Sprout Projector. This may be difficult to do based on your second issue. For the second issue with the touch mat, I would first make sure that you have all of your drivers up to date, and make sure you have the latest update for Sprout Workspace installed. You can use the HP Support Assistant, to check for updates. Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Sprout-by-HP/touch-mat-not-woring-with-touch-only-can-use-mouse/td-p/5550112
Hi! I am having trouble with my chromebook after the last update that I accepted last week. Because of the new update, my mouse touch does not work and I am having trouble using it since I still need to plug the mouse before it runs. My chromebook runs perfectly until the update happened. What should I do? I hope I can hear from you soon. Thanks HP!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Mouse-touch-does-not-work-after-the-latest-update/td-p/5660258
I have a fairly serious issue on my hands.
2 days ago, my computer decided to stop taking input from anything (mouse, keyboard, and touch). I am unable to do anything past the Windows splash screen. Going into the BIOS shows that the computer is working normally, and my mouse, keyboard and touch screen work there without issues. I really hope I can get this thing working again, as I haven't backed up files to a cloud. Please help ASAP as I need my PC running!

Any help is appreciated!
When it crashes, does it respond to CD-ROM button or power button? Also, does a reboot fix it?
Last, what model computer is it exactly? Looks like a all-in-one.
I prefer the Comfort On Screen Keyboard Pro and have installed it. After every sleep or reboot I have to manually disable the standard Touch Keyboard from Toolbar entry on the Taskbar.
Go to Control Panel -> Ease of Access -> Ease of Access Center -> ?Use the computer without a mouse or keyboard? and uncheck the ?Use On-Screen Keyboard" option and click Ok.
Then, click on ?Change administrative settings" options and check the "Apply all settings to the logon desktop" and press Apply.
My client told me this was a touch screen, so that is what I ordered. HP 749970-001 touch screen display assembly. It is installed, but not recognized. In order to use it as a touch screen, would I have to replace the motherboard too?Is there a driver available? The display works, it is just not working as a touch screen.

Hi, I've recently formatted my Laptop HP Envy m7-n101dx (touch) and installed Win7 Ultimate (64 bit). I have downloaded all drivers available on HP website and installed on my laptop. There is only one unknown device left (acpi\msft010), and I'm unable to to find the correct driver. My problem is I'm unable to use the touch screen of the laptop, I've googling and found that is there must be a problem with with the Human Interface Device, but when I've checked the Device Manager no Human Interface Device is on the list. Please could anyone help me out. Thanks in advance
Hello @JeffJadoo, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! The Forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community! I understand that you are having an issue with the Touch Screen, and wanted to assist you! Did the notebook originally ship with Windows 10? How did you go about formatting the notebook, and installing Windows 7? You may be able to use the Recovery Manager to restore the drivers, however, based on how you installed Windows, the Recovery Partition may already be removed. You can also try reviewing the following document, to see if the information helps: HP Notebook PCs - Touch Screen Issues (Windows 8) Please post back with the results. It is possible that the Touch Screen may not be supported for Windows 7 on that particular notebook. I have a kiosk on which I've just installed 8.1 pro. It has an oem touch screen manufactured by General touch (p/n st6001u). I've installed the driver and it seems to work but Windows still says "no pen or touch available". My customers using the
kiosk will need to type on screen in addition to just clicking. Is there any way to for the OS into touch mode? I believe under 7 there was an option in Windows features but I can't seem to find anything on 8. Google has been no help.
Can we replace the capacitive touch controller or is it fixed?
Can you please provide more details?

I'm not an expert on this, but it seems similar to a problem that I've had with my Surface Pro 3. If you live in a humid area, use evaporative cooling (swamp coolers), or accidentally leave the laptop in the bathroom while taking a hot shower, moisture can get between the LCD and Digitizer assembly and create these "ghost touches" you are experiencing. As you have mentioned the touches appear to be concentrated in the center line. This could also be cause if you carry the laptop around by hand (like a book) and the pressure and friction (and sometimes sweat) from your arm can affect the screen.
The way I have dealt with this before was to fold a large towel several times and place on a flat surface, Prop the laptop with the back of the lid flat on the towels. Take a hairdryer and carefully heat the screen to soften the adhesive between the screen and digitizer. Then take a clean dry folded hand towel and with firm, but GENTLE pressure wipe from the middle of the screen outward. Much like removing air bubbles from under a sticker. Depending on how much moisture is trapped in the screen this may not work. If this does not fix the issue, you could always go into Human Interface Devices in Device Manager and disable the HID-compliant touch screen, and just use it as a standard laptop.
My mouse and touchscreen freeze up on a regular basis and then completely disables the keyboard as well, I don't understand why because im up to date with all the drivers. im out of warranty. what can i do?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/touch-screen-and-mouse-freeze/td-p/5662325
I turned on my laptop this morning to find that the touch pad doesn't work. This wasn't really a problem as I generally use a plug-in mouse, however, upon restarting my computer again, my keyboard also doesn't work.
I'm running Vista 32 bit and I have no idea what to do.
Does this sound like a software problem or a hardware problem? Is it possible that I have a virus that is causing this?
Would my best solution be to re-install Vista?
I have everything backed up so I don't mind doing that, however, I don't know how. When I bought my laptop Vista was pre-installed so I don't have the CD.
I'd be very appreciative to any help you guys could offer!
I have a Samsung series 7 Slate, which works great and is really fast with Windows 8. But with one piece of software the touch screen doesn't work, the menu items will light up but nothing happens when you press them. If I use a mouse it works fine and as it should. I don't think it's the software because I also used it on a HP 500 Slate and the touchscreen worked fine on that.
If anyone has any ideas for a solution to this problem I would much appreciate it.
Thanks in advance for any help.
There is a bit of a glitch when using older touchscreen hardware with windows 8.
Nearly all older touchscreen hardware is implemented as an mouse emulator. So when pressing on the screen it simulates a mouse click.
Windows 8 makes use of the touchscreen interface rather than the mouse interface for touchscreens, and the driver it installed for your touchscreen (if it installed one) may not be working too well with the hardware. If you install a driver separately for that touchscreen you may get back the mouse emulation for the touchscreen, but then some of the better options like gestures and sweep scrolling may not work well or at all in windows 8.
So what you really need is a touchscreen driver that is really a touchscreen driver (not a mouse emulator driver) for that model of touchscreen on your slate. If you know the touchscreen manufacturer you can maybe find a beta on their site for Windows 8? Find the touchscreen device in the hardware control panel and look up it's VID and PID to find the manufacturer if the driver page doesn;t already tell you. (There is a website somewhere that'll look up the VID/PID and tell you what the product and manufacturer is)
But.. may be slim chance. If not, try finding the normal windows 7 touchscreen drivers for it, that may help some, though not guarantee it'll be fully functional.
Please excuse me as my knowledge on computers is very limited.
I just bought a Dell Inspiron second hand. The person who sold it to me has no knowledge or doesn't want to tell me what's wrong with it. A few minutes after you power it on and start using the touchpad it will sometimes glitch. The screen will go grey and there will be lines. If I stop using the touchpad for a few minutes it will go away. But it continues to do it randomly every few minutes.
I would really like to know what is wrong with it and how I fix it. I know that it has been dropped as there is a chip in the corner under the keypad.
Thank you for reaching out to Dell Community Forum.
Please boot into BIOS <F2> and check if the issue occurs.
Also, have tried to update the touchpad drivers from our Dell Support site to the latest available version?
Does this happen when you use an external mouse?
Please click my DELL-username and send me a Private Message with the Dell Service Tag number and your email address.

My wife's laptop was just upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. After the upgrade neither the touchpad or the touch screen worked at all. I dug around and enabled the Elan Mouse in Controle panel. That allowed the touch pad to control the cursor but the mouse buttons still don't work.
I haven't even started on the touch screen but I would love any ideas.

OK, if I read that right, you are missing the Windows 7 Boot Animation. I'm not sure if these links will help but its some place to start.
No windows 7 boot animation
No boot animation for Windows 7? [Archive] - My Digital Life Forums
Oh, thats not DOS, there is no DOS in Windows 7. There is a command shell that you can launch from Windows but its not DOS. The first text based screen you see during boot up is the BIOS POST screen and or your Video cards BIOS screen.
This is the second time I've bought a new laptop in 2 weeks, because my old Dell's hard drive crashed. The first replacement HP wouldn't connect to Wifi and Geek Squad couldn't help from the store, so just traded out for this new one, and that problem is solved. I'm not sure if my Win 10 is 32 bit or 64 bit, BTW, and don't know if it matters for this issue. I was on my laptop last night and the keyboard kept acting wonky--slow response and I'd have to hit a key a few times to get the letter/number to type at times. Also, even though I hit the numlock key, it wouldn't stay locked. Please tell me this is a quick driver reset. I really don't want to go back to Best Buy again.
Hi ,Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! I understand you are having an issue with the keyboard not responding. I will be glad to help you. Please download and install Synaptics TouchPad Driver. I know this is for the touch pad, but sometime the touchpad can slow down the keyboard. As both are input devices. Here is a document for Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting (Windows 10, 8). Please keep me informed of how things went. If you require further assistance, let me know and I will gladly do all I can to help you. Please let me know if this resolves the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution".To simply say thanks, click the Thumbs up below! The way that Microsoft setup Kiosk mode is unusable. When a customer comes into our store and uses a browser restricted to only use the available links on the page (Kiosk mode) expecting them to know what key strokes they need to use to go forward
and backwards in the browser is unreasonable. The other problem is that we deploy touch screens with NO keyboards. Does anyone know how to use Kiosk mode but still have the navigation keys available for the users to select. The only other way I can think of
doing this is to go to a totally different browser. To expect in this day and age, with the usage of touch screens, to still require a keyboard for navigation in kiosk mode is just silly. Now that I have vented any help would be appreciated.
I purchased my Laptop 8 months ago with Windows 8. Worked perfectly. Upgraded to Windows 10 after 1 week, and still worked perfectly for 7 months. Now the mouse and the touch screen does not work properly. If I hook up external mouse, it works perfectly.Tried to resolve with HP support, but after getting cut off on the support line 3 X finally talked to support who said it is a Windows 10 issue with their drivers, even though it worked perfectly on Windows 10 for 7 months.Told me it is not a hardware issue, even though it obviously is, works perfectly with an exteranl mouse, and that I would have to pay $100 for him to supoort looking at the OS Drivers.Should I do a wipe, re-install Windows 8, and then phone to get support since HP will not support any issues if you are running Windows 10?Thank youhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Laptop-mouse-amp-touch-screen-not-working-properly/td-p/5763162

So I have got a Lenovo Y50-70 with 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display for about two years now. I've accidentaly dropped my backpack, while the laptop was in it and cracked it's screen so I need to replace it. The screen in the cracked part is working as it was working before the accident, the crack is on the glass. So I was wondering if I can replace my 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display with a 15.6" 1920x1080 FHD Non-touch Display? Is it possible?I've read that whether screen you are changing, its working depends on the quantity of pins on the Video signal connector.

I just purchased this laptop yesterday, 9/12, and it was working perfectly fine until today. I was working on it and the touch screen stopped working so I can only use the keypad. I'm wondering if something went wrong with the laptop or if it can be easily fixed!!
@Laurenmh Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips!Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out!Let us begin! As I understand the touchscreen stopped responding on your recently purchased HP 15 notebook and here's what you could do: First, let's start with performing a hard reset to release any excessive static/power that could have caused the issue: To perform a hard reset on a computer with a removable battery, use the following steps:Turn off the computer.Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.Remove the battery from the battery compartment.Press and hold down the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook computer, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.Press the Power button to turn on the computer. If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key. After reconnecting each of the peripheral devices, run Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to update all device drivers.Second, Enable the touch screen driver in Device ManagerIn Windows, search for and open Device Manager.Expand the Human Interface Devices heading. The touch screen device is labeled HID-compliant touch screen, or similar. Right-click the touch screen device. If the option to enable the device is included in the menu, click Enable. Figure : Enable HID-compliant touch screenIf the Enable option does not appear in the menu, continue to the next step. Reinstall the touch screen driver in Device ManagerInstall Windows updatesUpdate the BIOS and graphics driverConfigure the touch displayPerform a touch screen diagnostic test in HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFIAdjust the power management settings for your touch screenReset your computerPerform a Microsoft System RestorePerform an HP System RecoveryClick on the links above for details on how to perform each step. The touchscreen on my Yoga 260 isin't working. I first noticed this problem when the screen was acting wierdly. When you tap on your yoga a light circle appears and fades over time to mark or show where you tapped and when you swipe a trail or tail appears behind of where you swiped then disappears over time. So when I opened my Yoga these taps and swipes were appearing all over the screen ramdomly in a very rapid pace. So I restarted my Yoga and saw that the swipes and taps were still there. So I chose to restart the Yoga again and the taps and swipes dissapered. After that I noticed that the touchscreen became unresponsive but the computer runs as normal butthe screen is unresponsive. Before I discovered the problem I could remember dropped the computer a small height but caught it. If there's a solution to this problem I'm happy to listen! Yesterday I was on my laptop and before I shut it down it went into what looked like a different mode. I booted it up this morning and it is still in this mode. It looks like touch screen mode but I do not have a touch screen. The icons on the task bar are spaced out and there is a back button on the task bar too which is not normally there. When i right click against the task bar, one of the buttons says "Show touch keyboard button". All of my files are spead out as if to have room for touching if I had a touch screen but I do not. Hi Guys...I'm using the Lenovo multi touch driver for my X61T. With Windows 7 build 7000 the same driver when I wake my laptop from sleep the touch screen works. Starting with build 704x (i can't remember the exact build but it was the first leaked x64 build) when I wake the machine from sleep the touch screen doesn't work (both pen and finger touch)
I have tried to change USB settings but I haven't seen any fix. A restart of the machine means the tablet works again. Any ideas about a patch until Lenovo makes new drivers for Windows 7?
There is a registry patch for better USB connectivity after waking from sleep, available from Lenovo.
Lenovo Support & downloads - Registry patch to improve USB device detection on resume from sleep for Windows Vista - Notebooks
How's the touchscreen working for you? Hope it's great! I don't like touchscreens because the screen can heat up and flicking your finger around on it can really burn.
My phone has a screen lock on it. So the phone boots up and reaches the screen lock part where I can go about unlocking it and doing whatever I will with my phone. however the screen wont respond to any touch. It is an Android and the phone is a Samsung intercept.
also... :/ 3 days ago I dropped in it a puddle. I've been drying it out for few days under weak heat from a heat lamp but I tried it yesterday and I had the problem mentioned above ^. any suggestions, or am I screwed?
I'm afraid you will have to get a new phone. Who is your wireless provider?
hello i heave a nettop mini pc and i have a 7" super sk-8802-a touch screen monitor. when i purhcased it from ebay the seller told me the drivers support windows 7 . i got it and it supports everything below xp and as well as xp. i rather see if i can get it to work rather than sending it back i heard that windows 7 has a xp mode so i can use the programs on windows 7. i found a driver for it from a website called touchkit.com but its a rar file. my thought is can i install the drivers regularly and then swap out the rar files. and help would be great.
If you can't get it to work I would send it back and get your money back. I wouldn't even play around with the guy he misled you and I wouldn't post a good deed done on his reputation. I have seen to many people get taken on Ebay and it ticks me off because I for one have had it done to me. I now by everything brand new from Newegg and or some place I know to be reputable.
Unrar the files to a folder on your desktop and open up device manager and right click on you new touch screen monitor and click update drivers. Then select "Browse My Computer for Driver Software" and then select "Search For Drivers In This Location" and Make sure the subfolders check box is checked and then browse to you folder and click ok then click next. It will either say it is updating the drivers ot that windows has determined that the best driver is already installed. If it says the later then try an Automatic update from windows update. Before you do though go into system in control panel and click the hardware tab and select the setings for "Device Installation Settings" and set it to these setting like below in the screenshot the go back into device manager and automatically update the drivers and it will search windows update as well to see if there are drivers available for your device.
Hey guys i'm pretty new to all this and have only just signed up to the forum so hope i have put this in the right place!!
Anyways i was wondering if an IR Touch panel that fits over the top of an ordinary LCD will work with windows 7 as i have seen one on eBay 32" in size (USB) Pic attached!

had this computer for little over 2 months and snce having it the touch screen will not work at all hp 15.1 notebook, touch the screen nothing happens look in device manager cant even find the touch screen in there, any help would be appreciated, thanks
I request you to boot the PC to BIOS and test the touchscreen in BIOS. To boot the PC to BIOS, first turn off the PC completely. Keep tapping ESC on startup. You would get a startup menuPress F10 to get into BIOS. do not keep the PC in mute. Touch the screen in BIOS, the PC should beep. If the PC beeps in BIOS (system utility), the touch screen is fine and you are facing a driver or a software issue. If the PC does not beep in BIOS, when you touch the screen, there is a issue with the display/touchscreen. Considered as a hardware issue (service or display replacment might be required). Please share the product number of your PC. This will help get the specification of your PC and I can give further suggestions. ****Click the White thumb to say thanks********Please mark Accept As Solution if it solves your problem****http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/touch-screen-on-windows-10-wont-work/td-p/5778865

Since windows 10 upgrade, my touch screen on my pc no longer works. How can I fix this problem? I had also upgraded my son's laptop and now his mouse doesn't work on his, it works is a mouse is plugged in but not without on either computer. I am confused!
Head over to the system builder websites to download and install windows 10-compatible drivers for your machines.i_Xp/Vista/W7/W10 Userhttp://www.computing.net/answers/windows-10/touch-screen-no-longer-work-after-upgrading-to-windows-10/98.html
Screen was cracked so I replaced the screen. Now touch doesn't work.
There is no "Pen and Touch" and "Tablet PC Settings" in Control Panel. In PC info it says, "No pen or touch input is available for this display."
Touch DOES work on LINUX as I ran it from a usb drive, so it is not a hardware problem.
I have reinstalled Windows.
I have another Yoga 2 Pro and comparing Device Manager in both I see no differences.
How can I get the touch to work again?
try refreshing your PC maybe the driver is not working properly
If the touchscreen does show up on the device manager try updating the driver from there. (it will be listed under HID )
Otherwise To refresh your PC Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)Tap or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click Recovery.Under Refresh your PC without affecting your files, tap or click Get started.Follow the instructions on the screen.

Hi HP Support Greetings from Latin America, we have a HP Pavillion All in one 27-n001la, mainly used by my 5 years old daughter, with all her educative games. Since the upgrade to Windows 10, touch screen is not longer "touch", and we cannot find driver available at the website to solve this issue, which btw, is quite relevant for my daughter as she still doesnt have any control of the mouse. Hope you can help us. Warm Regards from Chile Carolinahttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Touch-Screen-of-my-HP-27-n001la-doesnt-work-since-Update-to/td-p/5678166
I bought a windows 8 hp pavilion touchsmart and touch screen worked. I updated to Windows 10 and it worked, only after I did a factory restore did it not work. I've tried everything with the device driver and another factory restore and it still does not work. I sent my computer in to get it fixed while it was under warranty and it was still not fixed. I resigned to it not working and I think that hp should have solved this problem before selling its computers. So we are blaming it on Microsoft 10, but that is not the issue when it worked until I did a factory restore and attempted everything suggested. I have a 350 dollar piece of **bleep**. Plus now my Mic isn't working and there aren't any drivers for me to upgrade to, anywhere.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/My-touch-screen-doesn-t-work-after-I-did-a-factory-restore/td-p/5808064

My wife's parents purchased a Toshiba Qosmio DX730 (PQQ11A model). They recently upgraded to Windows 8 and the touch screen now does not work.
The problem is missing drivers (the monitor driver is reporting as a Generic PnP Monitor).
I went to the Toshiba site and selected the driver downloads for the appropriate model and installed a number of drivers, including the recommended NVidia display drivers. There are no drivers on that site that seem to install support for the Toshiba touch screen monitor.
Are there no Windows 8 drivers available for this model? If not, is there another solution? If so, where can I find them. Any help very much appreciated as they have a nice computer and purchased Windows 8 so they could use it with the touch features.
On the Toshiba EU driver page you can find the Win 8 drivers.
As far as I know you need to install the Toshiba display driver to get the touch function working properly.
I found this driver.
Please check if you can install this:

To all those who keep on spouting the talking point that "touch" is the future of computing...
In fact is clearly is NOT. At least for the next half century is isn't.
As far as we can tell NOTHING is more efficient than the traditional keyboard and mouse for entering data, it is indisputable.
Perhaps in the following century there will be bionics that will allow those that want to compromise their bodies to use mere thought to transfer that data to a computer, but that is too far down the road to be concerned with now and even the near future, until then the rational, logical and practical issues mean that touch will not be the future except for playing with games or light texting on an WinPhone or Tablet.
In 50 years, the keyboard will still remain. The mouse won't. We've been using a QWERTY keyboard since the age of type writers. We've used computers with a keyboard until the mouse came into the game more than 25 years ago. It's not going to last a long time because if you have a UI that takes advantage of touch input, much like how the GUI took advantage of the mouse, it's gone. Not only that, there's gesture input as well...
Call it a change to how we interact with our PCs...
I have the issue that the touch screen + front camera + back camera + windows button on the screen are not working.
I tried installing the display/graphics drivers but that did not helped.
I bought this laptop from Saudi Arabia and it is still under warranty but I am out of country so i cant claim the warranty as well.
someone please sort out this issue and tell me the solution or tell me what i should do?
Help will be really appreciated.
some details about my laptop:
Toshiba Satellite U920T-B919.
windows 8.1 update 64 bit.
Since you mentioned different issues with your notebook, I think that in this case its advisable to recover the notebook back to factory settings just to check if all these problems are related to system problem.
Regarding the webcam: the Windows 8 /8.1 already contains the webcam drivers and therefore additional webcam driver installation isn?t possible. Additional webcam driver does not exist simply.
From my point of few the whole description smells a little bit like a hardware problem of the upper slide part where the touchscreen is part of.
The win button as well as the both cams are located there and probably there is some lose connection between the two parts (touchscreen and keyboard)
Anyway, as I said above, its advisable to recover the notebook to factory settings just to ensure that the system isn?t the troublemaker.
In case of hardware problems, you would need to get in contact with service available in your country.
This has a built in CPU (i5) with Win7 32bit installed. The IDS touch screen was working fine, the it stopped
working. The thing is, the Touch screen calibrates fine using Elo calibration software for spotting the corners of the screen but when you do the mouse check, it does not recognize moving the cursor or selecting anything. I suspect a Win7 problem so where would a good start point be?
Without knowing much about your system, I would say the first thing to look at is maybe update or reinstall your drivers.http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/354469-elo-55-interactive-digital-signage-touch-computer-touch-problem.html
I have an acer aspire M3 581T-6405 series ultrabook, but my screen is broken. Can I replace it with a touch screen from an Acer Aspire M5-583P-6428? Whether the touch screen works as a touch screen or not is irrelevant I just want to be able to use my laptop.http://community.acer.com/t5/E-and-M-Series-Laptops/Replacing-a-non-touch-screen-with-a-touch-screen/td-p/456065
Haven't updated your laptop's trackpad driver lately? Then you may well want to consider doing so, at least if your laptop is equipped with a Synaptics trackpad. As a user on the Hardware Zone forums discovered, the latest Synaptics driver seems to enable multitouch gestures on older laptops that didn't previously support them, including two-finger scrolling, and three-finger click. What's more, while the drivers themselves come from HP, they should work just fine on other laptops with a Synaptics trackpad. Hit up the link below to try it out for yourself.

p.s. working on my P7805u perfectly.

New about a week so far I really like it nbsp Can t say yet that I love it yet but it does what I need it to and the price is better than a tablet with the same functions and already has a keyboard nbsp This New week old Inspiron 11 3000 3558 (touch) stuck or broken button on touch pad--warranty parts replacement? machine is kept in a padded case when not used in my desk drawer it does not bounce around in my briefcase etc nbsp This morning the New week old Inspiron 11 3000 3558 (touch) stuck or broken button on touch pad--warranty parts replacement? left button on the touch pad does not work nbsp At first glance it sort of looks like it is caught on something or stuck the right button New week old Inspiron 11 3000 3558 (touch) stuck or broken button on touch pad--warranty parts replacement? works great a broken switch under the button is also possible but this thing doesn t move at all I d think a switch would still move just not contact properly inside nbsp I need my machine and I ve made a couple of upgrades like a SSD for the stock hard drive and a gig ram chip I am not thrilled about pulling those components in order to return for warranty replacement etc as I m pretty sure you won t be returning the same machine I sent in nbsp I m considering pulling it apart to see if it is indeed stuck so it can be pushed back out from the inside but if this is a common issue with this machine I d like to know that nbsp Can I be sent a new touch pad component I believe I saw this is a separate board that attaches to the motherboard with a ribbon cable nbsp I m not afraid of this procedure myself as I ve been building desktops since the s and this is a really simple hardware to work on from the looks of it nbsp Only thing I fervently wish this motherboard had is a second wireless socket for a cellular internet card it s currently wifi only nbsp Sigh I guess you can t have everything for the price level of this machine nbsp Looks like I have to settle for a stick or one of those wifi router things that connect to the cell data network and your computer accesses that router with wifi If dell can please send me a replacement touchpad board please do I am afraid to try to pry the button loose from the outside because there is such a tiny amount of space there and I d probably damage the plastic around the touchpad trying to pry it free nbsp I don t think anything got into the touch panel again because there s such a tiny amount of clearance here nbsp Thank heavens this is a touch screen don t need the touch pad for a lot of things and I can add a mouse but that just makes for more stuff to carry around would like this fixed nbsp I guess your chat is never open I ve tried a few times and it s always closed nbsp I imagine you d want the service tag on the machine I d prefer to supply that in a private communication as there is no telling what someone may try with that information nbsp
This is an fyi about the final resolution of this issue. After a lot of arguing dell sent me what was supposed to be the touchpad but what I got was only the plastic palmrest no touchpad. Then because it's a "daughter card" I got more argument about the touchpad. I got hot enough that I opened up the back, lifted out the battery, took out the two funky looking screws and the whole pad just fell right out of the machine. The buttons seemed fine so I screwed it back down, put the battery back in and closed it up. It's now great, the button was indeed hung up on the edge of the plastic palmrest. This is a very well designed inside machine, it all screws down and all connections are with plugs or ribbon cables. I wrote back to dell and told them they need to fire their tech manual writers because they're idiots, a monkey could have done this. Apparently it is not easy to find only the mouse pad it's generally sold with the palmrest from what I can tell. This whole machine is so well designed I scratch my head why the cpu isn't socketed unless they decided there was no room for a socket etc, which I can see that argument. So if your mouse pad quits try popping it out first it may just be hung up.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19682498

I can get the touch working on one of the touch screens but not the other.

I can flip the touch from either side by changing the primary monitor status.
I the tablet mode the "make windows more touch-friendly when using your device as a tablet" this is disabled.
also if i go into control panel and search for tablet there should be a function "tablet that will let me select which monitor is a tablet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I recently upgraded to Windows 10 on my little laptop. For the first day the mouse/touch pad was not working at all. Then after I plugged in my other wireless mouse, it all of a sudden started working. So now I can move the mouse around, and click on things, but the scroll does not work and two-finger-double tap does not right-click. I've opened up the mouse settings, and it seems as though the wireless mouse is still plugged in, but it is not! I see nothing about a synaptic (or whatever it's called) touchpad, nothing about enabling it, or settings for it. Please help!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Mouse-touch-pad/td-p/5616021

Hi folks ,in preparation for my birthday i have ordered myself an Arc touch mouse,
do any of you have experience with it and if so whats the verdict.
i have read plenty of reviews but here we get to ask questions
Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
I played with it in the store, but didn't really care for it much. But then again, I'm also a trackball fan...so that often influences my mouse choice.
Microsoft sadly discontinued my mouse of choice. Been using these for about 7 years now. It's the Microsoft Trackball Explorer. I own 3 of them. 2 at home and 1 at work.
Sorry for the long tittle.
Is it possible to turn the mouse acceleration on only when using the touchpad on my laptop and off when I'm using the mouse? I usually don't use the touchpad when the mouse is plugged in if that's any help. If nothing else, maybe a driver will do the trick?
The computer treats touch pads as mice in most instances.
I used to know how to create a shortcut that would toggle it, apparently that command no longer works in win 7.
i have an acer e1 510p 2671 laptop that used to be windows 8 tht i upgraded t windows 10 and since the update i am having problems with the mouse/touchpad. everytime i close my laptop lid and open it it stops working even tho wen i go into mouse properties it says deviceis working i having to either put computer to sleep, restart my latop roll back the device or uninstall the dvice to get it back working. altho ever since the annverisary update of windows 10 unistalling has no effect to it. i hace ELAN Touchpad 220.127.116.11_X64 currently installed. is there any way i can fix this. such as download a new muse/touchpad driver w/o having to take it to a repair shophttp://community.acer.com/t5/E-and-M-Series-Laptops/mouse-and-touch-pad-problem/td-p/459316
I have a Dell laptop loaded with Vista. I have upgraded to Windows 7. When I attach the external mouse the touchpad is not deactiviated like it was with Vista. Is there any correction to disable the touchpad when using the external mouse?
One suggestion would be to manually update your touchpad drivers, when you loaded Win 7 the odds are you got a generic driver... hence the loss of functionality...http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/52882-touch-pad-exteranl-mouse.html
My mouse cursor / tourch pad is dead. No response at all. I have to use an external mouse (USB).How to resolve?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Mouse-Touch-Pad-not-responding/td-p/5637492
The scroll on the touch pad causes my cursor to freeze on the screen. It displays a frozen tiny scroll bar on my screen with the cursor attached. Locks up the compute. Have to log off to get it working again. Help!
maybe hit ESC a few times. Once you are out of the lockup, see if there is an update to the touchpad driver. Also, check the touchpad settings (some model let you define which area and the size for the scroll, etc).http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/touch-pad-mouse-locking-up/td-p/516459
