I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Touch screen on our HP Pavilion 23ST Touch All in One PC P2N42AVstopped working after about 6 months. I reimaged and restored it back to original system. To make sure nothing waschanged by any updates that may have been done.I cannot see any options in device manager for the touch screen.Everything else is working just fine but no touch screen functionality. doing F2 and trying component test. Touch screen isn't there. It is like it disappeared. This id used in a business and it was working 18:00and the next morning nothing.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/touch-screen-on-our-HP-Pavilion-test-Touch-All-in-One-PC/td-p/5732174

New about a week so far I really like it nbsp Can t say yet that I love it yet but it does what I need it to and the price is better than a tablet with the same functions and already has a keyboard nbsp This New week old Inspiron 11 3000 3558 (touch) stuck or broken button on touch pad--warranty parts replacement? machine is kept in a padded case when not used in my desk drawer it does not bounce around in my briefcase etc nbsp This morning the New week old Inspiron 11 3000 3558 (touch) stuck or broken button on touch pad--warranty parts replacement? left button on the touch pad does not work nbsp At first glance it sort of looks like it is caught on something or stuck the right button New week old Inspiron 11 3000 3558 (touch) stuck or broken button on touch pad--warranty parts replacement? works great a broken switch under the button is also possible but this thing doesn t move at all I d think a switch would still move just not contact properly inside nbsp I need my machine and I ve made a couple of upgrades like a SSD for the stock hard drive and a gig ram chip I am not thrilled about pulling those components in order to return for warranty replacement etc as I m pretty sure you won t be returning the same machine I sent in nbsp I m considering pulling it apart to see if it is indeed stuck so it can be pushed back out from the inside but if this is a common issue with this machine I d like to know that nbsp Can I be sent a new touch pad component I believe I saw this is a separate board that attaches to the motherboard with a ribbon cable nbsp I m not afraid of this procedure myself as I ve been building desktops since the s and this is a really simple hardware to work on from the looks of it nbsp Only thing I fervently wish this motherboard had is a second wireless socket for a cellular internet card it s currently wifi only nbsp Sigh I guess you can t have everything for the price level of this machine nbsp Looks like I have to settle for a stick or one of those wifi router things that connect to the cell data network and your computer accesses that router with wifi If dell can please send me a replacement touchpad board please do I am afraid to try to pry the button loose from the outside because there is such a tiny amount of space there and I d probably damage the plastic around the touchpad trying to pry it free nbsp I don t think anything got into the touch panel again because there s such a tiny amount of clearance here nbsp Thank heavens this is a touch screen don t need the touch pad for a lot of things and I can add a mouse but that just makes for more stuff to carry around would like this fixed nbsp I guess your chat is never open I ve tried a few times and it s always closed nbsp I imagine you d want the service tag on the machine I d prefer to supply that in a private communication as there is no telling what someone may try with that information nbsp
This is an fyi about the final resolution of this issue. After a lot of arguing dell sent me what was supposed to be the touchpad but what I got was only the plastic palmrest no touchpad. Then because it's a "daughter card" I got more argument about the touchpad. I got hot enough that I opened up the back, lifted out the battery, took out the two funky looking screws and the whole pad just fell right out of the machine. The buttons seemed fine so I screwed it back down, put the battery back in and closed it up. It's now great, the button was indeed hung up on the edge of the plastic palmrest. This is a very well designed inside machine, it all screws down and all connections are with plugs or ribbon cables. I wrote back to dell and told them they need to fire their tech manual writers because they're idiots, a monkey could have done this. Apparently it is not easy to find only the mouse pad it's generally sold with the palmrest from what I can tell. This whole machine is so well designed I scratch my head why the cpu isn't socketed unless they decided there was no room for a socket etc, which I can see that argument. So if your mouse pad quits try popping it out first it may just be hung up.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19682498
After having issues with my laptop, diagnostics showed that I needed to replace my HDD. It was replaced with an SSD, and windows 10 was reinstalled (as that was the OS before replacement). Now the laptop shows that there is "no pen or touch input" in the control panel and the Human Interfacing for touch screen is missing. Both Windows Update and HPSA have been no help in finding the driver for it or in giving any useful information. I just don't really want to have paid extra for touch that doesn't work....
Hi, If thats the case then your best bet is to update the drivers using hp support site. I am going to include pictures so you could follow the steps properly. Go to https://support.hp.com then type the product number to the search bar Click Software and Drivers Then Click Go Select the current version of windows you are using Then look for the drivers you seek that you believe missing. Good luck!

I broke the screen on my Y50 Touch and the display is mostly white and has a large crack, the only thing showing up is the bottom bar. When I hook up an external monitor I can still use the touch functionality so I think the touch Digitizer is still working. Can I just replace the screen underneath and it should be fine?https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Lenovo-Y50-Touch-Screen-Replacement-Help/td-p/3354100
Hi, I got a 3rd Gen Carbon X1 with a touch screen. Now the screen is broken and I am afraid I have to replace a new one. Is it possible for me to replace a non-touch screen instead of a touch one, since I found the touch function didn't that improtant for me? And if I have to get a touch screen, how much it would be?Thanks for the help!!
It isn't just the LCD that is different. The panel, bezel, lid, cable and hinges all are different. If you want to repair with non-touch, the best choice might be to look for a used, complete assemblyhttps://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-X-Series-Laptops/Carbon-X1-touch-screen-replacement/td-p/3303406
About a month ago, I dropped my iPod Touch Second Generation and the screen cracked. It is still usable, but I would like to repair it. Apple gave me a quote of $120 dollars for the repair, however I have seen things on online stores like Amazon and eBay for less than $15. Are these safe to use and good quality? If so, where do you recommend I buy the replacement? I have read several reviews on such products warning me that I need to also buy a chassis/bezel, etc., because by opening the iPod these snap...or that I may also need to replace my home button...I am not sure exactly how broken my iPod is or what I need to purchase.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

You may only need to replace the Touch digitizer if the screen is undamaged. Those are not touch screens - they are standard LCD panels.
To change the panel, you need to replace both the touch glass and LCD as a unit:
My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working. I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution. I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
First do a Power Drain
(If the battery is removable)
Remove AC and Battery and hold the power button down for 15 sec.
Turn the computer back on and see if the Touch capability is now detected under System Properties,
I suggest you contact Lenovo Technical Team about the Issue as this may be a device detection issue.

When I purchased this device less than 2 months ago it was then loaded with Windows 8.1 64 bit. I was then offered to upgrade to Windows 10 64 bit. Since the upgrade the touchscreen will not work. I have tried all of the recomended troubleshooting on your site. I have also made sure that all drivers as well as the os is up to date. Please fix. The reason that I purchased this all in one device was because of the touch screen.

My mother-in-law recently gifted me her old school. She said it was a touchscreen but she never figured out how to work it. When I look in "View Pen and touch info" it says it's not available.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Does-Pavilion-10-TS-Notebook-PC-have-a-touch-screen/td-p/5737956

Sorry I can't answer your question, but this post piqued my interest. I use the Logitech 620 touch mouse on a Windows 7 box at work. I find a little touchy and has to tweaked. Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.
Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.
If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.
I hope this links helps you.
Hello everyone, my touch screen on my lenovo ideapad z400 touch is not working anymore. The only weird thing I remember is some ghost touchpoint on my screen. Hello, Insert the HP Flash drive in a USB 2.0 port or 3.0 port if a USB 3.0 compliant stick was used to create the Windows 10 installation media. Boot the PC and tap "ESC'. Select Startup Menu and then select the USB installation media under UEFI Boot options. You should be able to start the Windows 10 install. Windows 10 should install most drivers. Install HP drivers if you have any driver issues. The Grzyhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/HP-Pavilion-27-quot-Touch-Screen-All-In-One-Intel-Core-i7/td-p/5824763
Hello! Just recently (within the last week or so) my touch screen has been acting up. I can sometimes click on things - such as switched between tabs. But sometimes when I click it will highlight a word on the screen instead of taking me to the link I'd like. On top of that, I'm completely unable to scroll using my touch screen. I have to use the mouse pad or the arrows on the keyboard. I'm still able to use the mousepad for everything so it isn't like the laptop doesn't function, but it's irritating that I can't use the tablet mode. I bought this model so I could use it in both laptop and tablet mode. I recently bought the Pavilion 15-p209ni (M6F16EA). I am very happy with the product but i would like to make some chnages to it as well. My hope is that i will be able to change the current keyboard to a backlit version and also chnage the current non-touch screen to a touch screen. If this is at all possible, i would love to be notified and also to be told approximate prices for these changes.
The Model series did have a touchscreen option so theoretically you could buy the touchscreen assembly and retrofit it to your current chassis. Likely you would be looking at something like $3-400 for parts and labor. There is no backlit keyboard option. The economics of the touchscreen upgrade do not really make sense. You would likely come out better buying a new laptop and selling yours so at least you could retain a warranty.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Can-i-change-the-screen-of-my-HP-pavilion-15-to-a-touch/td-p/5605451

My laptop's touch screen doesn't work after updating my drivers to date. I opened the Tablet PC Setting, it says 'There is no pen or touch input available for this display' . (I used Shorcut to open the setting because the Tablet PC Setting disappeared in the control panel along with the functionality of the touchscreen). I tried doing a recovery but it wasn't successful to bring the touch back. Plus the HID-Compliant touchscreen driver is missing. Please help me to fix this, thanks.

I have a kiosk on which I've just installed 8.1 pro. It has an oem touch screen manufactured by General touch (p/n st6001u). I've installed the driver and it seems to work but Windows still says "no pen or touch available". My customers using the
kiosk will need to type on screen in addition to just clicking. Is there any way to for the OS into touch mode? I believe under 7 there was an option in Windows features but I can't seem to find anything on 8. Google has been no help.
My client told me this was a touch screen, so that is what I ordered. HP 749970-001 touch screen display assembly. It is installed, but not recognized. In order to use it as a touch screen, would I have to replace the motherboard too?Is there a driver available? The display works, it is just not working as a touch screen.
I'm on the Driver Download page for the S400 Touch, but I have no idea which driver is for my touch screen. There are display drivers and mouse/touchpad drivers, but neither of them say anything (at least I don't see it) about the HID touch screen. Running Windows 7 64bit. Any ideas?

Hi, I've recently formatted my Laptop HP Envy m7-n101dx (touch) and installed Win7 Ultimate (64 bit). I have downloaded all drivers available on HP website and installed on my laptop. There is only one unknown device left (acpi\msft010), and I'm unable to to find the correct driver. My problem is I'm unable to use the touch screen of the laptop, I've googling and found that is there must be a problem with with the Human Interface Device, but when I've checked the Device Manager no Human Interface Device is on the list. Please could anyone help me out. Thanks in advance
Hello @JeffJadoo, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! The Forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community! I understand that you are having an issue with the Touch Screen, and wanted to assist you! Did the notebook originally ship with Windows 10? How did you go about formatting the notebook, and installing Windows 7? You may be able to use the Recovery Manager to restore the drivers, however, based on how you installed Windows, the Recovery Partition may already be removed. You can also try reviewing the following document, to see if the information helps: HP Notebook PCs - Touch Screen Issues (Windows 8) Please post back with the results. Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Check the Touch funtionality in OKR environment.
Turn off the computer and Turn it back on and right away start tapping F2.
Select Recovery. Once in the Recovery screen Test the touchscreen by touching any of the option if it will respond.
If the touchscreen works in OKR Environment, I suggest you perform a One key recovery (expect dataloss).
If the touchscreen still did not work in OKR Environment, I suggest you call Lenovo Technical Team for assistance.

After upgrading to Windows 10, my Pavilion 23tm touch screen monitor lost the touch feature. I looked for a driver on the HP website and it required me to download the HP Support Assistant app. That is, the site would not simply allow me to download a driver update. After downloading HP Support Assistant and running this app, it did not find the Pavilion 23tm monitor, so I hit a dead end. I believe I just need to be able to download the most recent driver, but the HP site won't allow this.
Hi there @jazzquilt?,Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you are having trouble with your touchscreen display after upgrading to Windows 10, and that you installed the HP Support Assistant to help, but the problem remains. I am happy to assist. On looking up the model of the display, I did find a Windows 10 driver, linked below. Give it a try, if you haven't already.HP 23tm LCD Monitor - Windows 10 Driver Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. I've just replaced the digitizer (touch screen) assembly on a HP Pavilion x360 11-k009tu Windows 10 laptop. All ok except the x-axis is reversed i.e. mirrored around the vertical axis, so if you touch on the left it responds on the right and vice-versa. I've tried many suggested solutions, none of the following have helped:> Re-calibrating the touch screen> Reverting to a system restore point prior to the digitizer replacement> De-installing & re-installing the touch screen device in Device Manager> De-installing & re-installing the touch screen drivers> Installing the latest touch screen drivers from HP support site> etc etc etc I did come across a reference somewhere re editing the touch screen calibration data (in registry or calibration file) and reversing the x-values but have since been unable to find that reference again. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Reversed-touch-screen-x-axis-on-HP-Pavilion-x360-11-k009tu/td-p/5850805

So I have got a Lenovo Y50-70 with 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display for about two years now. I've accidentaly dropped my backpack, while the laptop was in it and cracked it's screen so I need to replace it. The screen in the cracked part is working as it was working before the accident, the crack is on the glass. So I was wondering if I can replace my 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display with a 15.6" 1920x1080 FHD Non-touch Display? Is it possible?I've read that whether screen you are changing, its working depends on the quantity of pins on the Video signal connector.

I bought a Lenovo G50-80 Touch Laptop, but for some reason the touchscreen is disabled and it also says that it doesn't have touchscreen on it.https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/G50-80-Touch-Touch-Screen-isn-t-working/td-p/3324184
Yesterday I was on my laptop and before I shut it down it went into what looked like a different mode. I booted it up this morning and it is still in this mode. It looks like touch screen mode but I do not have a touch screen. The icons on the task bar are spaced out and there is a back button on the task bar too which is not normally there. When i right click against the task bar, one of the buttons says "Show touch keyboard button". All of my files are spead out as if to have room for touching if I had a touch screen but I do not. I am finding this very annoying because I cannot get onto my desktop properly and is not in the right mode. Please help!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/My-Laptop-isn-t-touch-screen-but-it-is-in-touch-screen-mode/td-p/5686333
Hi all, For some reason my P400 Touch no longer holds much of a charge. For instance, after about an hour it's down to about 10% battery life from 100%. I've tried a few "quick fix" ideas that didn't help with the issue, so it would seem the only solution is to replace the battery. Is it possible to find batteries for the P400 Touch still, and if so, where is the best place to purchase one? I'm a little unfamiliar with the insides of this particular laptop, as I've yet to actually crack it open at any point, is there a guide on the best way to gain access to the battery in order to replace it? Several questions at once, I'm afraid. Thanks for your time!https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/P400-Touch-Replacement-Battery/td-p/3346701
Hi folks, I bought my U430 touch in the Summer of 2013, it's served me well thus far. That is until today, the battery on my laptop randomly pooped out on me, and now I can't even use the thing without having it connected to an outlet at all times. With that being said, I can't find this model's battery on Lenovo's website anywhere, does anyone have a link to the battery on Lenovo's website they don't mind sharing? If not then a reliable third party vendor would be equally appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hi manlyshads ,
Would you have the Machine number for checking further on the details of the pc?
You can see it on the sticker label or visit the parts lookup page .
From the same parts look up page is the part number or FRU matched on the battery sticker.
Use that to check on Lenovo encompass as an authorized parts distributor for availability and pricing.
Hope this answered your query.
This has a built in CPU (i5) with Win7 32bit installed. The IDS touch screen was working fine, the it stopped
working. The thing is, the Touch screen calibrates fine using Elo calibration software for spotting the corners of the screen but when you do the mouse check, it does not recognize moving the cursor or selecting anything. I suspect a Win7 problem so where would a good start point be?
Without knowing much about your system, I would say the first thing to look at is maybe update or reinstall your drivers.http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/354469-elo-55-interactive-digital-signage-touch-computer-touch-problem.html
I have an acer aspire M3 581T-6405 series ultrabook, but my screen is broken. Can I replace it with a touch screen from an Acer Aspire M5-583P-6428? Whether the touch screen works as a touch screen or not is irrelevant I just want to be able to use my laptop.http://community.acer.com/t5/E-and-M-Series-Laptops/Replacing-a-non-touch-screen-with-a-touch-screen/td-p/456065
I have a friends laptop that the synaptic touchpad gets extremely hot and PC doesn't reconize it. Vista 32 home basic, have downloaded drivers and to no avail. doesn't even recognize a mouse plugged into a USB.
Haven't updated your laptop's trackpad driver lately? Then you may well want to consider doing so, at least if your laptop is equipped with a Synaptics trackpad. As a user on the Hardware Zone forums discovered, the latest Synaptics driver seems to enable multitouch gestures on older laptops that didn't previously support them, including two-finger scrolling, and three-finger click. What's more, while the drivers themselves come from HP, they should work just fine on other laptops with a Synaptics trackpad. Hit up the link below to try it out for yourself.

I have a defect U430 Touch with a backlight keyboard. Now I have new U430 Touch withou backlight keyboard and would like to know if I could put the keyboard from the old U430 into the new one?
Attached you will find screens of the two serialnumbers.
Thanks for help
Mod's Edit: Serial number attachment removed from public view to protect owner from its unwanted use.
Mod's Comment: Rather than posting the serial numbers just post the full Model Number. EX: U430 - 59436098. That information will give readers an idea of the model features each system has.
the touch pad on my hp pavilion dv6700 stopped working. the right and left click work but the pad and the scroll won't work. i reinstalled synaptics software and did a hard reset, no luck. hp wants me to try a system restore or system recovery and i think that is too drastic for what seems to be a bad setting or driver. any ideas???
My touch pad doens't seem to be working right. There is a delay in it "starting" when i try to use it. Could it be a driver problem or is it a hardware problem? I'd rather not replace the PC!

My computer just won't turn on anymore. I tried almost everything on the forums about how to turn it back on. But it still won't turn on. So I took it to a local computer repair shop, they said my mother board is damaged. But they didn't look at the mother board, they just tested out the power cord and see if it gives off the right amount of amps. They said it does. HP laptop has a touch pad with a small area just to the right for what I suppose is quick scrolling.
There are small lights that allow you to run your finger over it and the page will move quickly.
Mine stopped working, and I am not sure what it is called, or how to look for a problem.
Nothing seems to show up under touch pad.
Any help would be appreciated.
Purchased "HP Pavilion Laptop-gaming 17t touch" and have now found two specs that are NOT as listed on the HP store website, without even powering it on yet: Display '17.3" diagonal FHD IPS UWVA anti-glare WLED-backlit (1920 x 1080) Touchscreen' is NOT anti-glare--it is highly reflective, so much so that it is unusable in our office environment--it is basically a mirror. Weight is listed as 6.06 lb -- however, I just weighed it, and it is 7.29 lb! That's 1 1/4 pounds or 20% heavier than it is supposed to be. That is a significant difference! Has anyone else purchased this laptop and found this to be the case? Very false advertising. Makes me wonder how realistic the supposed "Up to 9 hours and 30 minutes" of battery life is compared to other similar models.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-Laptop-gaming-17t-touch-not-as-advertised/td-p/5748097
I am trying to install a program downloaded online to my HP Pavilion. The installation is halted with the followng message: OEM product cannot be upgraded. Hello, Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome onboard! It remains unclear what is your operating system you use , what is the software that you are trying to download/install, where you are trying to download it from .... please provide this information. Generally speaking, if this is 3rd party program (not HP and not Microsoft one), you'd better contact the support department for that software for that companyIf this is HP software or some Windows stuff, you can post here and you will be provided with an advice. For two weeks now I have been having issues with the touch screen on my HP Pavilion All-In-One touch screen computer. Why is my screen flashing white bubbles, white streaks and moving icons all around, shrinking/expanding my icons and work space and jumping from one screen to another? It makes my system inoperable having to cold-boot it and restart, only to have it start bubbling again and wreaking havoc. I have this Technical Support subscription thing I purchased from Office Max for a year. They checked the system when I called and could not tell what it is. I hear about this HP Support Team. Can someone help please. Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Ghostly-Flashing-Bubbles-on-my-HP-Pavilion-All-In-One-Touch/td-p/5790875
Browsing numerous forums on laptop relative to Touch Pad after receiving my own this Christmas. Not only is the Touch Pad sensitivity set way too light as a default, but the left and right click buttons are way too hard. There is no question that HP needs to Recall all of there laptops that use this same touch pad and replace them with a pad that has a lot lighter spring. There is no way my two younger boys or an older person with weak fingers could even use these buttoms. Please assist all who are promoting this recall to convince HP that replacement of these touch pads is necessary if want any kind of customer satisfaction and no loss of product image. I believe they are going to be getting a lot of requests from many wanting to return their laptops with full refunds due to this issue. Cecil
hi try updating your driver from synaptics directly, then go to tapping and assign the zones to right and left click , it will eliminate the need for buttons, oem driver with laptop automatically disables this option for some reason.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-Laptop-dv6-Touch-Pad-Click-too-hard/td-p/434155
HP Pavilion 15-ab100 Notebook PC series (Touch)
Model # is 15-ab144cy Serial # is (removed content) and Product ID is 9NE06UA
Notebook was purchased in February 2016 via QVC channel on cable. (Home Shopping Channel) in US.
A few days ago, the notebook failed to power up. Not a Windows problem. It does not get that far.
It would appear this is failing the "power on" test, as there is a series of 3 long beeps, but there is never any video displayed of any kind. Obviously using the HP Support Assistant is not a viable option.
Can you advise where to connect with HP Support or how to address this issue since the notebook is only a few months old???

I purchased a HP N5290 Pavilion Notebook with MS-Me installed.
The 1-Touch controls work OK.
I upgraded to MS-XP first release. I installed new XP drivers for all the HP hardware devices. The 1-touch controls installation was tricky. The 1-Touch controls worked for a while.
I accept all the MS upgrades when sent.
A few months ago, I noticed the 1-Touch controls were not working and I got a message that a file could not be found on boot up.
I have reinstalled the 1-Touch controls driver several times, no change in the error message.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I might try. I am considering reformatting the disk, installing MS-Me and then doing the MS-XP upgrade again 8-(

HP Pavilion 23 Q110A (Touch) All in One desktop, Since turn on, it has a loud/noisy fan / motor. The noise is continuous and varies its volume when multiple things are operating. This makes it very difficult to work as the noise is distracting and frustrating. Does anyone have any suggestions or does this come under warranty? Hi @SALEEN-KIDD Welcome to the HP Support Forums! In answer to your request, the drivers for that model of notebook can be found here:HP Pavilion 11-n010dx x360 PC (ENERGY STAR) - Software & Drivers I hope this helps.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-PAVILION-X360-11-N010DX-NO-TOUCH-SCREE-DRIVER-NEED-HELP/td-p/4861010
I purchased a new HP Envy with windows 8.1.64 and a Pavilion 23tm monitor. I have installed the drivers for the monitor but the monitor still will not respond to touch. I went online and downloaded the drivers off the HP website just in case they were more up to date than what came with the monitor. But it still is not working as a touchscreen like it's supposed to. Any ideas?
I just went through two rounds of technicians updating drivers. Enabling and disabling devices. Nothing seemed to help. I notified the techicians I was connected via a HDMI cable. Windows reported no touch input available on this computer. In the System Information screen. I suddenly realized, hey, didn't this monitor come with a USB cable? Plugged it in, and it started working after a re-boot. Duh. None of the technicians asked about the usb cable. They concluded it was a bad monitor.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/Pavilion-23tm-monitor-doesn-t-respond-to-touch/td-p/3617433

I have an:HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-b017c (Touch) On the back of the display is an HDMI port. All the doc I can find says that it is an HDMI (IN). For the life of me I cannot figure out how to switch to that input. I've connected an AppleTV as an example, and there is no way for me to switch to that input. There are no physical buttons on this chassis. . .except for the power button. There is NO input select button. . .and as near as I can tell there is no owners manual for this hardware anywhere. I suspect it's some kind of software based input swtich. . .but I don't know what or where that would be. -Jhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Pavilion-All-in-One-24-b017c-Touch-Rear-HDMI-Port/td-p/5793795

Hi there @jwpeart, May the Forums be with you! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. I understand that you are trying to get your touch screen to work with your desktop system. I am happy to help with this. Please post the full product number and operating system in use on your computer. See the following, if you need help with that information. HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number, Serial Number or Product Number? HP PCs - How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer Looking at the HP Pavilion 23tm Touch Monitor - Product Specifications, you have DVI-D and HDMI inputs available. You would want to be sure that the computer has one of those types available to transmit the required digital information from a screen touch action. A VGA connection is an analog connection and so is not going to work excepting for display purposes. It would not work with the touch screen functions. Please let me know when you can, the model information for the computer and the type of display connections available. If you only have a VGA connection on the computer then you would need to look at possibly installing a different but compatible graphics adapter, that provides a DVI-D or HDMI connection. I hope this helps, and if this does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/Re-Pavilion-23tm-monitor-doesn-t-respond-to-touch/td-p/5660397
As per subject heading I am unable to use any of the touch controls to change volume, mute speaker etc. I have not been able to find a way to re-establish these functions. Does anyone have the answer?Cheers
@alwend Hi,Perform a Hard Reset:1. Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and media cards.2. Disconnect the AC power adapter, remove the battery, and then press and hold the power button for at least 1 minute.3. Reconnect the AC power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the Power button and check is your problem solved or not.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/HP-Pavilion-model-DV6-touch-control-for-volume-speaker-mute/td-p/544737
My laptop has 4GB RAM but HP ship it with Vista 32bit (Lame uh) so I installed Windows 7, everything seems to work except the LEDs at the touch bar aint change color. when you press the "mute sound" button it should turn red, but it stays at the same color, the sound get's muted. Anybody knows a fix?
Ummm, which laptop? I have the 2710p Tablet PC and it changes to orange on mine like clock work (the light is not lit at all with the sound unmuted)....http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/7071-hp-pavilion-dv5-1214-touch-bar-leds-dosent-change-color.html
I can move the pointer, but I can't click anything. If I right click, it's like the left-click button is being held down and I can't click anything on the menu. A USB mouse works.
Thanks in advance, SawronZXZ~
Touch mat wont let me use the touch only the mouse and the light stays on even when not in sprout workspace
Hi @frostygirl13, and thank you for your post.Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. My understanding of your post is that you are dealing with two issues, one, the projector lamp is on, when you expect it to be off, and two, the touch mat is not working for you. I am happy to give you a hand with this. For the first issue with the projector, I found the following post, with suggestions from forum experts @DavidPK and @WyreNut: Sprout Projector. This may be difficult to do based on your second issue. For the second issue with the touch mat, I would first make sure that you have all of your drivers up to date, and make sure you have the latest update for Sprout Workspace installed. You can use the HP Support Assistant, to check for updates. Please let me know how that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Sprout-by-HP/touch-mat-not-woring-with-touch-only-can-use-mouse/td-p/5550112
I have a non touch E5450 base, I want to put a touch screen top assembly onto it. I have sourced the whole top assembly including hinges. But I was wondering if the Hinge covers are different on this particular model depending on the screen used? I know some of the 7000 series have different hinge covers, but not sure about the 5000 series.
Comparing photos on Google has been inconclusive and I am unable to find a part number.
Anyone able to help me?
I'm planning to buy a new laptop but will never be using the touch screen. Will I lose any functionality in Win10 by just using a mouse and keyboard with a touch-screen laptop? Do touch screen models use a different version of Win10?
BTW, I know I can buy a non-touch screen model and may do that, but we're looking for a large screen and non-touch choices are limited.
There's no problem with that, any icons or tiles are clickable with mouse, just like everywhere else. For touch screen devices there is "Tablet mode" and can be turned off to behave same as any other desktop/laptop. If device doesn't have touch screen, Tablet mode is disabled by default.
Tablet Mode - Turn On or Off in Windows 10
There's no special version of Windows for such cases except for Windows phones.
Looking into using a touch screen monitor. I use Windows 7 Home Premium and I understand that Windows Touch is available on the version.
If I would get the monitor, do I need to find drivers or are they include with Win 7?
Is anyone using a touch screen monitor now?
Looking at Windows 8, I have been playing with the Consumer Preview copy and it looks like a touch screen would be useful with Win 8 if a person would decide to upgrade to that.
Hello Jack, welcome to Sevenforums!
Touchscreen is useful, and fun. It is by no means neccessary, however. Windows has a standard driver, but for a touchscreen, you will want to look up the driver on the monitor's manufacturer's website. There are 2 different drivers - 64 and 32 bit. Make sure you get the right one according to your system.
If I were to use touchscreen, it would be because of application(s) that require it, or are easier to use because of it.
