I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My Laptop is HP G6 Pavilion. I bought it by July-2012.  My problem is laptop is heating up very fast and it's battery storage capacity also seems to be very low.  It powers off by itself because of over-heating. Moreover it throws the error "601 - internal battery error. You need to replace the battery". Please guide me how to fix this.

I have a HP Pavilion n with Error Pavilion 763 HP Memory k of RAM running Windows XP I decided to upgrade the memory to GB by purchasing GB DIMMs which is the max that the motherboard specs said that the system could have After pulling out the k HP Pavilion 763 Memory Error DIMM and inserting the GB DIMMs I received a series of repeating long single beeps as I powered up the PC Upon searching the internet for BIOS error beep codes I assumed that the long single beeps were due to memory error So HP Pavilion 763 Memory Error I tried reseating the DIMMs which didn t solve the problem I also removed the DIMMs HP Pavilion 763 Memory Error used compressed air to clean out the DIMM slots on the motherboard and reinstalled the DIMMs This also didn t solve the prolbem Finally I put the original k DIMM back in This also now results in the same problem I tried putting the k DIMM in both memory slots and the problem still exists I checked all the connectors on the motherboard and made sure they were properly connected and the chips seated So I don t believe I have any loose connections So here I sit with a PC that won t boot I m not sure if the problem is with the DIMM modules or the motherboard I wore a static wrist strap and worked on a hard plastic mat Do you think that I fried the DIMM modules Or is there something else that I am missing that is causing the error nbsp

Remove the ram (probaly out already)

Dicipate the computer voltage, hold the power button in for 20 secs

Remove the motherboard power connector (big square one - momentarily lost its name)
Obviously power cord out

Reset the bios jumper (usually red connector) usually just need to remove it (can remove cmos battery too)

Put everything back with 512 Meg ram

Try again

Has anyone every experienced a problem with XP Home on a HP Pavillion PC that wont boot. It has the error message that lsass.exe could not load. I have searched MS and HP sites without too much help. I tried HP's system recovery (F10 at startup) and it still wont boot.
Could not get to the safe mode with command prompt either.
Any suggestions are appriciated.
I might end up formating and relaoding OS, but I want to save data for customer, if possible.

Welcome to SF nikpony .

This post, describes what your dumps show down to the tee, and I feel that Vir has
summed up the possibilities very nicely.

I would, however, like to check thermals.
Test for thermals and stability:
Download HWinfo and post a Screenshot of the Sensors Only window, one at idle and another while putting load on the PC using Prime95.Before running Prime95 make sure to enable Round-off checking (see 1st post under the tutorial).

It is not mandatory to run both tests simultaneously, although possible as long as the temperatures are under constant monitoring.

I have searched this error in your forum and online and I have no idea how to solve it.
This laptop is new - one week old - and I already get an error- I have no idea why.

I suddenly started to get blue screens yesterday and I have no idea why

Ii used your SF diagnostic tool an I zipped the file and uploaded it here

I would really appreciate if you could help me solve this - please!
BTW sorry if anything I do is against the etiquette here - this is the first time I am using a forum (believe it or not!) i tried to rename the file and upload it but it did not work.

Really looking forward to your response

Late for work, this is gonna be quick....

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [S] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/S] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link:
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

As wireless is mentioned in the dump files, please:
- download a fresh copy of the wireless drivers
- uninstall the current wireless drivers
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Hi guys,

Sorry if I sound desperate but I really am

OS Win7
No cd drive
No recovery disks

"Invalid Partition" at start

All the F keys (they might as well stand for " nothing") nothing works. The only place I can get into is BiOS but it all looks Greek to me.
I am a novice at playing with internal software of laptops and that is why I am asking help from you, the Geek Gods - please help!
Additional info - Primary hard disk test from BiOS passed same with memory test.

...And I am willing to format the drive if you guys tell me how to do it from this black screen that I've been getting

A:Invalid Partition error on HP Pavilion dm3

Using another computer, a 2GB or larger memory stick and an internet connection you can make a bootable USB drive containing a Linux OS.

Here is linux
Here is how to make a bootable linux USB drive
There are various other ways to do this, but this is nicely detailed online for you. This should let you boot into Linux and run some test as to hard drive health etc. You can also format your hard drive from there and take off any important files/folders you may wish to keep.

Before you can do that you will need to change the boot sequence in the BIOS. At the moment it is most likely just on hard-drive. You will need the order of:
Removable media

Alternative is an external cd-drive.

A:Pavilion G6: Windows 10 BSOD Error

Heres a big update! I managed to get my old G6-1c43nr running smoothly on Windows 10 using this meathod! (Please note that not all G6's can use this meathod and you should proceed at your own discression!) Steps to fix this error: 1. Download BIOS revision F.46 (You most likely have F.48 or F.49) if it is available for your laptop (Go to the Windows 7 Drivers section>BIOS>Previous Versions). 2. Install the older BIOS 3.After installing the older BIOS, your laptop most likely will not boot fully, it should give a BSOD and restart, let it do this twice and the third time it should attempt to perform a startup repair THIS WILL (AND SHOULD) FAIL! 4. After startup repair fails, click on "Advanced Options" 5. Click Troubleshoot>Advanced options>Start-up settings 6. Click restart 7. When you see the start-up settings screen, press "4" on your keyboard 8. You will then boot into safe mode, do not log into your computer when presented with the login screen, just press Power>Restart 9. You should be able to fully boot into Windows now 10. Put the computer to sleep and wake it, it should now fully work! The issue was that the newer BIOS breaks the way Windows 8/10 read the SATA configuration and downgrading the BIOS fixes it. Enjoy!

I have been having this bsod error for about a month and I am finally getting tired of trying to figure it out myself. Going to school for computers I tend to want to fix my own stuff. I just want to get this to stop but I will try to say all the stuff I have done so it makes it easier. I just updated my audio, video, chipset, & wireless drivers and I think I am still having the error. (I did all and still had it minus audio) I will now give you a few specs about my machine.. Okay well here are some specs, core i7 720QM, 2x4GB (8GB total) DDR3 GSKill 10666 Ram, Radeon HD 5650, Beats Audio...oh yeah its a HP Pavilion dv7 4071nr. This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...

My daughter's laptop suddenly started running painfully slowly. I ran the hard drive test in BIOS and got this error. Is the hard drive shot? Could this be a software issue?

A:HP Pavilion D 5000 #2-07 Fail error

Can't be software issue if the diagnostics were run outside of Windows. I'd say if the diagnostics give you an error code then the drive is likely faulty.

Hi, Use a can of compressed air to clean out all of the dust from all fans in the PC.  With the side panel off, power on the PC and again observe the fan rotational speed.  What do you see? slow, medium or high rotational speeds? Open up the RUN Windows and enter: MSINFO32 What BIOS level is your PC running? Install the latest diagnostics for your PC. Boot up your PC and tap ESC then F2 to run diagnostics.  Run a complete set.

SherialT Welcome. Sounds like you have a very frustrating problem. Seems like the computer is trying to boot from an outside source. First thing you should try is to shutdown your computer.Press and hold the "Windows" key and the "B" key, and then press and hold the Power button. After 1-3 seconds, release the buttons. Your computer should beep several times and then start a BIOS Update. Let your computer go through the process of updating (just a few minutes) and your computer should start up. If this doesn't solve your problem, come on back. I have a couple more ideas if this doesn't work. Jendyruth

A:How do I solve a "Hard disk 1 (301)" error on my HP Pavilion...

Hard Disk 1 (301) is a hard drive failure. It means that the hard drive needs to be replaced. You'll need to get a new hard drive and install it, then you'll need to reinstall the Windows operating system using the HP Recovery Media. If you're in warranty, HP will send you the parts per your warranty terms. If you're out of warranty, you'll need to purchase a replacement hard drive and then call HP to order the HP Recovery Media for your specific notebook. The number for US support is 1-800-474-6836.I will be glad to answer any additional questions or provide more details if you'd like to replace it yourself. It's not too difficult.

Hello all.:

I have an HP Pavillion Laptop dv800 and I bought it maybe over 2 years ago. But recently, it has been encountering some problems (monitor wise). It would turn on fine, all programs are fine... but the monitor would occasionally choke and twitch. and now, when I physically move the laptop monitor.. it would twitch insanely with a black choking screen with some colors in it.

What should I do? Is this solvable? or should i just get a LCD Screen Laptop replacement?

A:HP Pavilion Vista64 BOOTMGR Missing and 1002 Error

Well, I have followed the instructions on a similar thread : Bootmgr is Missing - Cant load Recovery Disk as Operating System not found

While all of the commands take, there is not C: partition to fix anymore. After trying several other things I am resigned to the fact that this is a DMI Mismatch that HP does. I have tested the HDDs with the built in tests. In case the built in tests were faulty, I installed Ubuntu which works just fine. But I want windows...

Not comfortable with hacking bios to change the tattooing of the s/n due to the technical difficulty, I am thinking that a clean install of Windows is my only option. Buying a new copy is about the same price as having it fixed locally and significantly cheaper than sending it to HP (who I do not want to give a single cent to at this point).

Does anyone know if HP prevents a fresh install with the DMI mismatch like they do with recovery?

Hi, The 24 character error code is a failure of the short Disk Self Test ( DST ) and would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with the boot issues you describe. If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - If needed, you can check your warranty status Here. If you live in the US, contact HP Here. If you are in another part of the world, start Here. If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know - include the full Model No. and Product No. of your g3 series notebook - see Here for a further explanation. Regards, DP-K

Here is the Service Manual: Manual Hard drive replacement is shown on page 36 of the Manual. Your laptop, by the specs, came with a 500 gig 5400 rpm drive. This model only uses the superslim 7mm hard drives so that is what you need to buy. There are also options for an M.2 solid state drive or a regular-sized SATA solid state drive in lieu of the slower 5400 rpm mechanical drive. In other words, this would be your opportunity to speed it up a bit.  This would be a 7200 rpm mechanical drive of 500 gigs and would be a nice replacement at a low cost: Solid state drive which would replace the hard drive: If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.

Hello stevegmail. I understand that you're receiving a hard disk does not exist error. Is this correct?Have you noticed any other problems such as blue screens in the time before this occurred? I know you state the notebook was working fine but a lot of people wouldn't connect the two events. It sounds like the hard drive has died on you. The only other cause of this sort of error would be a bad connection between the notebook and the hard drive. However, this would've normally been resolved by reseating the hard drive. Could you also provide me the product number of the notebook? This document can show you how to locate that.I will await your reply; have a great day!

For anyone who has a similar problem with their computer, my "BIOS error" (as coded by my computer's flashing lights) turned out to be a failed video card. The repair shop said this happens when computers overheat frequently, which mine often did. So, they changed the video card and fixed the overheating problem, and my computer is back in working order.

Hi, new to forums! I got about 3-4 year old Pavilion dv6-2137eo. I was installing some updates, and then it suddenly stopped working. I got black screen and nothing else. And now, whenever i try to power on it, ok it starts, but then it flashes num and caps lock light 2 times, 2-3 secs and again 2 times. I know it means BIOS failure, but i don't know how to fix it. Anybody please help! Thank you!

Hi there @Nuu5kamu1kkun3n?, Thank you for joining in on the HP Support Forums and Welcome! This is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post on the HP Support Forums. I wanted to reach out to you and help! I understand that you having an issue with blinking LED's on your HP Pavilion dv6-2137eo Entertainment Notebook PC.  Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential connected devices, as these, could cause some issues. Try to start your Notebook normally after you have disconnected everything. If that does not fix the issue, please continue with troubleshooting.  The next step would be for you to try to Restore the BIOS. You will see that the document says:  If the BIOS on your notebook becomes corrupted, such as from a failed BIOS upgrade or damage from a virus, the computer might show any the following symptoms: The computer displays the error message BIOS APPLICATION ERROR 501.The computer stops at a black or blank screen and it will not enter any of the Boot Options, such as the BIOS Setup Utility, Hardware Diagnostic Tools, System Recovery screens, etc.The computer does not boot and the Caps Lock or Num Lock LED blinks twice or the computer emits beep codes. The computer turns on, for example, the fan might spin, but there is no video on the internal display or external monitor and it does not boot into the operating system. If the computer shows any of the previous symptoms and it does not boot up, use this document to restore the BIOS. After you Restore the BIOS see if you can start the Notebook normally.  Please let me know if I answered your question by clicking the 'Thumbs up' if the troubleshooting steps in this post resolved the issue for you please click the 'Accept as Solution' button. This will allow other's who have the same issue to find the solution also. If you require further assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please just re-post with the results of the troubleshooting.  Have a great day!

Please can someone help? My laptop has been slow, noisy and basically unusable for about a year, to the point that I have just stopped using it altogether, until today. It is slow to load, the internet is slow, I can only enter my password in safe mode and I'm up to date on virus checks and have deleted so much it's almost empty. Short of throwing this useless piece of metal out the window, I'm lost for ideas! Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

A:will a HP Pavilion 15-n034sa motherboard fit into a HP Pavilion 15-n083sa ?

Actually that's a hard question, generally its not possible to install another motherboard, sometimes it is. In this case one is an AMD platform and the other is an Intel platform, there could be tons of differences in mounting holes, physical design, clearance, connectors, heat dissipation requirements, cooling systems, etc. Laptops are not like desktops that use more standardized designs.

My HP Pavilion 500-205t was destroyed by a lightning strike. The HD is o.k. I have purchased an HP Pavilion 500-490 because the specs were very close.  I  want to use my 205t HD. Both computers are Core i3-4130, have 1 TB 7200 SATA 6G 3.5 HDs, same OS (Windows 7 Pro 64). My question is:  can I swap them out, or do I need to get an external HD enclosure and copy the 205t to the 490? If I need the external HD enclosure, looks like aluminum would be best, but would like recommendation for one which would hold my HD.

i have been using this laptop for 2 years i get it from my friend .

from start it always charges battery upto 56 percent.

and i thought that there is problem in the battery cell and in few months battery backup becomes very short.

Yesterday i bought a new battery for my laptop but it is giving me the same problem which i had with my previous battery.

So this is not battery problem.

Things i have tried

1)Removing battery and uninstalling windows ac adaptor from Device manager.

2)Removing both battery and power Adaptor and pushing the power button for 20 sec if there is any residuel current.

Nothing has worked for me so far.

I would be thankful for your guidance.

Thank you

Hiya morgansssss,

Right mate do you have all the Quickplay software. If so all you need to do is goto Start, Computer, Devices, Hardware. At the top of the page you will see System Devices. Click it.

You will then see a window just like XP. Hit the hardware tab then scroll down to the USB line.

Once there you should see "USB composite device". Right click on it and choose Enable.
There will be a pause as the device is enabled.

You will then need to scroll up a little and find "imaging devices". Right click on "HP Webcam" and enable it.

That should sort it out. If not let us know.... Hope that helps. Peace

We have purchased 5 HP Pavilion 550-132d having a windows 10 OS, we need to downgrade the OS to windows 7 32 bit because we have a system that only run up to win 7 32 bit. But unfortunately upon installing the win 7 32 bit OS, the mouse/keyboard freezes! and general 'hanging'  during installation . When we purchased the computers we are expecting that we could install windows 7 without any difficulty since windows 7 is still on the market.  Can we have a work around so that we could install win 7 32 bit on those 5 new HP Pavilion 550. We will greatly appreciate immediate response on this. Thank you very much.

My Hp says this, what do I do ,??  Hp Battery alert  The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. For optimal performance , this battery may need to be replaced   primary < internal > battery ( 601)  please help me me I work from home and no computer is not good lol.. Than you in advance

A:Help,!! Hp pavilion dv6 -6c 11 nr

Hi, The error 'Primary (internal) Battery (601)' does indicate that your notebooks main battery ( not the cmos battery as the error tends to suggest ) is showing signs of wear and you may want to consider replacing it - the 601 error typically occurs when the storage capacity has fallen below 25% of its original value. Further information on this can be found on the following HP document. This is a warranty item, so if your notebook is still covered, contact HP and arrange to have it replaced - If needed, you can check your warranty status Here. If you live in the US, contact HP Here. If you are in another part of the world, start Here. Regards, DP-K
