I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

After a cursory search, I see this has been addressed before. The Service Pack 1 update has been throwing me errors for way too long on a seldom used laptop. A friend "promised" that Noel the Magician would be able to suggest a solution. I've run SFC and SURT, (even SFCfix), Ccleaner and Malwarebytes which all report system clean except this issue.

I do have satellite internet with a data cap so am only able to do large files during the bewitching hours when bandwidth is free.

I hope I've included the necessary info: A huge TIA

OMG - I have to live up to my reputation now? - I need a drink

Please post the CheckSUR.log file - CheckSUR/SURT doesn't display errors, unless it actually crashes.

There are no significant errors in the CBS log and nothing in the SFC scan.
The CBSPersist are almost entirely clear as well - the only problems are those occurring during the SP install.
The main one - which is what's causing the error message - is:

Code:
Line 1448: 2014-07-08 21:18:34, Error CBS Failed to verify if catalog file \\?\C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\488053cdbca3231eeb2c2af7236d09ed\update.cat is valid. [HRESULT = 0x800b0100 - TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE]
This sounds to me like a failed download.

I suggest attempting to install using the standalone installer - from here...

Hey everyone! I'm in need of some desperate help. It just came to my attention that all of this time, Service Pack 1 has never installed. I've tried most of the common fixes from various posts on this topic such as the Windows Update repair tools and even Tweaking.com's Windows Repair tool and nothing seems to work. I would like to see if someone can help me work on the problem people have with the "Manifests" folder. If someone could give me some assistance it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to get a DBMS for SQL and need SP1.

I have attached my CBS folder for diagnosis
Let me know what other files you need me to provide for diagnosis and i'll certainly provide them!

Thanks

Hello,

I have seen that this problem has been solved before on this forum for other people, but that it is different in each case.
I have tried to install windows Service Pack Update through windows update and also downloading it. Both won't install due to error 800b0100.
I also dowloaded the recomended Windows6.1-KB947821-v12-x64.msu file to check the problem and maybe solve it. It hasn't worked.
I add the checksur log file, hoping someone may help me.

Thanks.

A:Windows 7 Service Pack 1 update error 800b0100

All of the content listed in the CheckSUR.log are contained in Service Pack 1.
So, the download or the installation may have been corrupted by 3rd party software interference.

To rule out both conditions suggest you first configure your system to Clean boot - How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

NOTE: In the Clean boot state all 3rd party firewalls will be Disabled. If a 3rd party firewall was previously being used, ensure that the native Windows 7 firewall is now On in Control Panel.

Then download and save the full, standalone of Windows 7 SP1 x64
Click the Continue button to Validate Win 7 first, then download and save windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe

When the download completes close all open programs and web browsers.

Create a folder on the root drive ( the drive where Windows is installed on, usually, C:\ ), name it SP1, ServicePack, or whatever suits your fancy.
Open the folder, right click windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe , choose 'Run as administrator', agree to the UAC prompt.
Do all of the restarts while the system is still in the Clean boot configuration.

Did that get SP1 installed ?
Whether it did nor did not, after the attempt to apply SP1, undo the Clean boot configuration and restart to normal Windows mode now.

I installed service pack 1 and a few other updates last night on my dad's work computer. I think the computer somehow managed to power off last night before completing the update even though it was plugged in.

Now the computer can not boot windows because it get's stuck around update 300 and receives a fatal error.

I am trying to do system restore however I can't access it due to an administrator password on the laptop. I talked to their IT person and I still can't get the password to work.

My dad never made a recovery disk like I asked and doesn't have the Windows 7 Pro 32 bit disk so I can't access it that way. I only have a 7 Pro 64 bit disk and a 7 Home Premium 32/64 disk.

What other ways can I go about fixing the problem? It's critical it is fixed within the next 12-16 hours.

A:Critical error after Service Pack 1 Windows update

Try this first.
Boot into Safe Mode before Windows starts loading. F8 on many computers. Try a System Restore before update.

Their may be other options but this may get you working again.
Let us know if this works or if further help is needed.

I have tried multiple ways to resolve this problem (System Update Readiness Tool, SFC scan, Microsoft Fix it, manual installation, etc.) but to no avail.

When I try to install the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) via Windows Update, the installation fails with an error code 800B0100.

When I tried to manually install the SP, an error message appeared with details: "trust_e_nosignature (0x800b0100)."

I am pretty frustrated considering the number of unsuccessful attempts and time I've thrown into fixing this problem. So, hoping that it will be addressed here, I have attached my CheckSUR log. Please let me know if any more information is needed.

I get an error message that reads something similar to "Can't read from Database.."

I can't give the exact message because I'm not at my home computer. But when I click ok on the error message it shuts down the entire installation...

Its very frustrating, I've tried deleting unwanted things from my computer and rebooting but nothing works. Please help

Offering to help fix a friends computer and I notice the machine doesn't have the service pack installed. I downloaded the 64-bit service pack and tried to install it. Everything goes fine until the actual installation process where it finishes almost instantly with an error message saying "Arithmetic overflow exceeds 32 bit." I cannot figure out how to fix this issue so any help or explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

I already tried installing different tools (Fixits, Tool System Update Readiness etc.) from Microsoft Knowledge Base - none of them worked.

It neither installs with Windows Update nor with downloading the update manually.

I use windows 7 professional 64bit.

Hope anyone can help because I am at the end of my wisdom

Thanks a lot for your help!

I am trying to install SP1 and am not able to either from Windows Update or the complete x64 package. I get the error File_Not_Found(0x80070002). I get this error after the computer restarts and the service pack fails to configure (around 10%). I have 7 Home Premium x64.

This happens after the computer restarts and fails to configure SP1 during startup. The solution for this error mentions having this error searching for updates which is not the problem in my case.

I have tried SFC scan, System Update Readiness tool and Fixitit 50202 but none of them fix the problem. I don't want to resort to an inplace upgrade.

Here are the log files-

Can anybody tell me what to look for in the CBS log file?

SP1 is indeed causing grief for some users.
I note you have tried the recommended
You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services

See if this helps -
* Unplug all USB devices
* Clean out all temporary folders,
* Download and scan with SUPERAntiSpyware Free.
* Make sure your anti-virus program is not interfering in any way with the installation.
*Try it again.

You may have to do the unthinkable & reinstall Windows.
This would save a lot of time / be much quicker than all the hours you might spent trying to fix it some other way.

Hi all,

I'm having trouble trouble installing Windows 7 SP1 64-bit (error code: 800B0100).

I've tested numerous methods to solve the problem (including the steps found in your post instructions) but to no avail.

I've attached the CBS file as requested.

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

A:Windows 7 Service Pack 1 won't install (error code: 800B0100)

Hi.

This issue may occur if the Component-Based Servicing (CBS) manifest is corrupted.

Did you try to run SFC /SCANNOW to check for damaged Windows files?

1. Open an elevated command prompt.
2. Run the "sfc /scannow" command.
3. Try to install update again.

Hope this helps.

Ok, a lot of you have looked at this question, but nobody has responded. Is it because it's not an important update? Or is it too old a problem (going back to 4/09)? Or some other reason? I can't believe no one knows the answer to my question since I've asked much more obscure questions in the past and gotten answers. So PLEASE, if someone could clarify what I'm dealing with I would offer techie sainthood upon you.

When I clicked "ok" it took me back to the "Intall Now" screen where I figured I'd click that again (no reboot) and went through the steps until I got to the "Where do you want to install windows?" part. However, it now shows to locations instead of just one.

Hi,
I've just bought an Asus X201E. I got the linux version, because as a student I get a free MSDN copy of any Windows OS... Long story short, I've been trying both Windows 8 32/64bit and Win 7 32 bit, all of them dosplaying an error during unpacking system files in the installation process @32-42%. I've tried everything, switching the SATA mode to IDE, rebooting, switching flash drives, etc. Since there are X201E models being sold with Windows 8 I figured there would be no problem installing it? Help please, it's really driving me mad..

Hi, I'm have a problem with my Vista computer. Recently I tried to install the service pack 2 for Vista because it was said that I needed it to download Windows Live Messenger 2011. So I did install the updates and reboot the computer. However, after the computer reboots there's a message on the screen that says "Service pack failed to install. Reverting changes. Do not turn off your computer." It has been there since 11.30 AM and now its 10:34 PM. I think someone who tried to use the computer restarted it and probably messed it up? I have tried rebooting into safe mode but this message still pops up and I currently do not have the Vista CD. Is there anyway I can remove this message and use the computer normally?

Hi. I was referred to this site by the Safer Networking Fourums. They helped clear out some malware from my kid's computer. Here is the link to my topic http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=314091#post314091. I was asked to try to update to Windows service pack 3 and I was unable to do so. I got an 0x800A0046 error message. I can not get into the control panel to try some of the suggestions to resolve the error on Microsoft's troubleshooting site. If I try to open the control panel my computer locks up.The computer is a Dell Dimension 3000 running Windows XP Service Pack 3. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Since you can't get into control panel, take a look here: 0x800a0046 Windows Update ErrorSpecifically, options two and three since option one involves the control panel.

A:Can't update Service Pack 1, error 80092004

Try this:

Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [August 2013] from Official Microsoft Download Center

You can manually download SP1 here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=5842

Download, *save*, and install the Service Pack.

Disconnect from the Internet, turn off the antivirus program, & close all nonessential process in the task manager.

Which Browser are you using? Try using IE 10, if your not already doing so.

A:8007000D error Cannot update service pack 1

Hi mawil1013,

I noticed your trying to install a 64-bit SP1 version on a 32-bit machine!
(according to your specs):

Code:
"Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) -
Download size: 73.6 MB - 892.6 MB"
Try the Update readiness tool for x86 machine:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3132

Failing that, try installing SP1 using a standalone installer:

Download Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) from Official Microsoft Download Center

You want to download and install this version:

Code:

windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe - This application installs SP1 to a
32-bit machine running Windows 7.
If it still fails, try installing the SP1 update with your Anti-virus disabled, and internet connection disabled.

Remember to enable AV if you are successful.

Hope this helps.

cheers

Hello, I upgraded my computer from Vista to Windows Home Premium 32Bit with no problems that I could detect. Windows Update offers me the SP-1 Upgrade but it fails to install. I receive an Error Code: 80073701.

Based upon its spec's, although the upgrade to Windows 7 went without a hitch, could this computer be too underpowered for SP-1 to install? I've tried a half dozen times, even getting the download separately. Thanks for any help or info.

I'm a guy who likes to keep all the software on my laptop updated to the latest version (Except Windows updates). Recently I saw on the web that there is a service pack update for Windows 7 named Service Pack 1 and searched more for details about this update and found that many users who have updated to Service Pack 1 are experiencing slowdowns. I have already downloaded the genuine SP1 ISO file for the Ultimate version and hesitating to go for a fresh install because of these bad reviews.
Will a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 (x86) make my computer slower than my current non-SP Ultimate (x86) edition as many users have posted on the internet? If so how can I overcome that problem?
Please help me

A:Should I install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Update?

I'm one who applies pretty much all OS updates on all my machines (other than hardware drivers from MS update) and have never experienced a slow down due to updates being applied. IMO, even if you don't apply any other updates you should apply SP1.

Windows 10 Repair Install Error 0x80070570 - 0x2000C

The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during APPLY_IMAGE operation.

So, I want to do a repair install. Have tried many times and keeping getting this error.

I have run sfc /scannow, and Dism, both report no errors.

I have searched here, and tried the install using English and English International ISOs (extracted). Both report the same error. It appears on the first reboot, about 2% into the install.

The install is onto a SSD, which was migrated (a few months ago), using Paragon Hard Disk Manager.

Look forward to your replies, thanks in advance.

Hey guys I just built a PC and tried to install windows 7 ultimate.
Specs:
-i5-3570k
-gigabyte ga-z68-ud3h b3
-8gb ram
-sandisk extreme 120GB ssd
-coolermaster 525W extreme PSU
Seagate 500GB storage drive

I first tried the DVD and got this error:

I assumed it was a corrupt DVD. I then downloaded the ISO from Microsoft and installed on a USB. I got the same Error. Re downloaded and reinstalled, same error. I looked online and found out it could be a ram error. Tried one stick, tried different slots, tried completely different brand of brand new ram, all to no avail. It always goes to 9% then gives the error. Any ideas?

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

Boot into BIOS setup, reset to defaults, save changes. If an EFI BIOS you'll need to decide if you want UEFI BIOS vs. Legacy BIOS: if UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with, or enable Legacy BIOS or Compatibility Support Module. Set DVD drive first to boot, HD second, set SATA controller to AHCI, Save changes and Exit.

Then boot into Windows 7 installer DVD or flash stick burned or written using tool and latest ISO for your licensed OS version here.

The Windows Update in my dell Inspiron laptop has stopped working for more than 6 months now. When i click on the update icon it tells me computer needs to be restarted, it did not work. Anyway I have tried various solutions available on internet but nothing helped. I cannot find the Update service when i search in services.msc section. Is it that some virus has corrupted .dll registry files in my laptop?
I have even tried copying the wuauserv registry files from a healthy laptop but the issue wasn't resolved.
Can someone please help me fix it?
Thanks,
Papri.

I reinstalled Windows recently, but it used the same boot partition from my old installation. I got rid of the old partition (it was on the wrong hard drive) and created a new one with the repair disc. Windows boots, but won't install updates. Bcdedit outputs
The boot configuration data store could not be opened. The system cannot find the file specified

I think it can't find the boot partition. Is there anything I could set so that it knows where it is? Thanks.

A:Created boot partition manually, Service Pack update error 0x800F0A12

Could you use the snipping tool to take a picture of your disk management window and attach using the paperclip?

Is the old drive still in your system, and if so have you tied removing it?

Hi,

I cannot install this as I keep getting an error saying it cannot be installed. I don't necessarily want it, I just don't want the update to display anymore. Is this possible?

Do I need another update to replace it?

Thank you,

A:Windows Xp Service Pack 3 Error

You previously loaded the wrong thing...One caution, you may want to un-install IE7 before you do this...Then re-install afterwards. Service Pack 3 is still using IE6 as its base component. I have read on a post here that if you have IE7 installed before you install SP3 and something goes wrong with IE7 you can't un-install it, but if you remove it first...Install SP3...Then re-install IE7 you will be able to remove it if needed.

I searched for the download page at microsoft but could only find the over view.

Hello Bionca and Welcome to TSF. Sorry to hear you're having problems installing SP2. I did some research and came across this http://blogs.blogosphere.ca/brock/ar...9/19/3230.aspx or you can do a slipstream of your XP cd which you can find the instructions here http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm. Report back letting us know what happens.

0490 errors are often very difficult to resolve - and it may be easier and quicker to do a repair install, since there are so many.

See the insructions here - Repair Install - I would advise downloading the SP1 version of an install disk and using that, as it will bypass the need for the later install of SP1.

Installation will not let me move on without copying this file. I have an athlon processor and I heard that could cause a problem...Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Windows xp service pack 2 error message

Hi!

Unfortunately, the most common cause of these errors is bad installation media or a bad cd rom drive...

Make sure that your XP cd rom is clean and try again. You can also try installing from a different drive if you have one.

As a last resort you can make a copy of your XP cd rom and try installing from there. Don't worry, this is completely legal as long as you have a valid license key.

Wonder if you guys can help with an installation of SP1 for Windows 7 32-Bit. I have attached the cbs.log containing the error information however all the fixes suggested around the net (disable AV, selected startup, install in safe mode etc) don't work and the service pack still fails to install.

I am not sure what it is I am looking for in the log but if someone can help me out by pointing me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Cheers!

There are known issues with SP-1. Some requiring re-installation of certain previous updates. Google it.

what is the error codes you get (if any)?

Been getting this error for the past few days. I have tried just about every recommendation I've seen on this error; Ive gone through 8 sticks of RAM, multiple ISO's and burns, USB install, different DVD drives, removing all extra USB devices, 2 video cards, multiple HDD's, canceling the install before it errors out and then restarting, all without luck. Anybody have any other ideas? Using a Maximus IV Extreme Z, no overclock.

A:Win 7 0x80070570 install error

Use 2gb of RAM for install. Test your RAM using memtest86 for 5-6 passes or overnight. Then when known good, test good stick in all slots to test slots: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Where did you get the ISO? Try slow burning DVD at 4x speed with ImgBurn once you confirm the ISO hash against official Win7 HASH: Windows 7 RTM SHA-1 hash - checksums.
Win7 SP1 hashes are on TechNet Download page under details for each download and accessible even if not subscriber.

Next try writing ISO to flash using this simple tool with Win7 in dropdown: Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3 | USB Pen Drive Linux

Next check for BIOS update for mobo. If none, reset the CMOS: Clear CMOS - 3 Ways to Clear the CMOS - Reset BIOS.
While in BIOS setup set SATA controller to AHCI to try install.

Next try wiping the HD for possible boot corruption: SSD - HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation

As a last resort, move HD to another computer to install. SysPrep install before moving back to problem computer: SysPrep to move HD to another computer

I am getting the error code 0x80070570 Everytime I try and install Windows 7. I am trying to do a custom install so it cleans out the computer. I have Windows 7 Pro OEM 32bit. I have the requirements it takes to put Windows 7 on a computer. I have tried two different discs same results. System is custom built, with Gigabit GA-H55M-S2H motherboar, Intel core i3, 4gb Memory, 500gb hdd. It gets past the part of coping files and then comes up with the Error code of 0X80070570. I have tried to install several times using two different discs and allways the same result.

I have been having problems installing 8 updates since early May 2012. I am getting the error code in the title line.

The updates are:

[LIST][*]Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2596672)[*]Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2596792)[*]Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2596880)[*]Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2597162)[*]Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2597969)[*]Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2007 (KB2597161)[*]Security Update for Microsoft Office Word 2007 (KB2596917)[*]Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Junk Email Filter (KB2687267)

I have run FixIt, but to no avail. I have also turned off services and rebooted and ran Windows Update and still got this error.

Do I need to just skip these updates, or somehow troubleshoot this and fix it. If I need to fix it, I need help.

Regards, and thanks.

How to fix:

1.First prepare special recovery disk Create a Recovery Disc
and make sure boot order in your BIOS is CD-ROM,C,A
(if you don't know how to to do that then check your computer manual)

2.Download attached to post FixPacks.zip file -in zip file is packed Packs folder -you have to unpack it and place directly on C: exactly as I show below:

Click this bar to view the full image.
3.Boot burned special recovery disk (if you don't have Vista DVD instead use special recovery disk )
Choose language>>Repair Computer>>WinRE>>command prompt

and type:

robocopy C:\Packs C:\ /E /IS

press ENTER

del C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\*.*

press ENTER

4.Back to your system and run Readiness Tool again.
5.Try install SP2 from Microsoft Download Center Download details: Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 and Windows Vista Service Pack 2 - ALL Language Standalone (KB948465)

Hi!

I would like to ask for help because the computer I tried to install windows service pack 3 on is now not starting windows.
It shows error message that presetup.cmd and setupORG.exe are not existing.
The message is shown after windows loading screen.
During the update those files were missing.
Is there a way to reverse instalation and return windows state as it has been?
I tried with start with the 'last good known configuration' and 'safe mode' but there has been no result.

I appreciate your help.

So I ve had a bit of trouble lately with gaming applications and crashes Some of the applications work fine in fact most work just fine Occasionally I will get a blue screen on the demo for Windows Service Professional Pack error XP 3 with Bugcheck FIFA PC The reason I am posting this here and not a FIFA forum is that this error is recurring from the past and occasionally appears in other applications too It should be noted my specs are single core and the requirements want dual core However I have been able to sneak by the requirement in the past for other games such as GTA IV and MLB k by putting graphics on low or medium and not maxing anything out Neither game really has trouble But the Bugcheck error with Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 FIFA demo is the most troublesome of all This demo gives me frequent blue errors whenever I play The blue error involves a Paged Fault in Non Paged area I don t have a clue what this means I have had issues with this error before in the past Previously I had attempted chkdsk to attempt to fix memory and rectify the issue The problem was dormant for a while but with the FIFA demo it has erupted in full force I will run the application and it will work fine but at times it will just go to blue screen in game Other times it will blue screen after I alt tab One thing in common the computer is a bit slower before the blue screen crashes the computer which leads me to believe this may be a memory issue I am strongly suspicious my computer cannot run this game but just to make sure what advice would you give to rectify this issue The specs are as follows Processor AMD Athlon Processor Ghz RAM gigs Video Card Nvidia GT Here is the bugcheck log The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck The bugcheck was x xb f d x x a x A dump was saved in C WINDOWS Minidump Mini - dmp Any advice you can give would be appreciated thanks

I have just downloaded and installed Service Pack for Windows from the Windows Update site It certainly took much longer than half an hour to complete and when the download reached I was presented with the following information warning window headed Microsoft Visual C Runtime Library and with the following text Runtime Error Program C Program Files Internet Explorer IELowutil exe R Not enough space for thread data To my complete relief Service OK had but error a Service Pack Windows 7 installed Runtime Pack quot successfully installed quot it then ran through the configuration re-start procedure successfully too I checked the file IELowutil exe and the one I Windows 7 Service Pack installed OK but had a Runtime error have on my machine is dated and is a KB Application I have no idea what it does or what the Runtime Error means and wonder if this is something I can happily quot forget quot or is it something that could pose a problem and I am a bit anxious about this as I am no computer expert So if there is a fix I hope its easy to do

Hello,

I am having difficulty updating windows. Specifically, when I attempt to install service pack 1 (KB2585542), I receive error 8007065E. Before coming to these forums, I tried rebooting the machine and installing with antivirus temporarily disabled. I have since followed the instructions on the forums and run the system update readiness tool (SURT), done the SFC scan, and collected logs. Any assistance with this would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

The update you quote has nothing to do with Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 - instead, it's this update. MS12-006: Description of the security update for Webio, Winhttp, and schannel in Windows: January 10, 2012

There are no problems in either the CheckSUR or SFC logs -

The background CBS data however, shows this error sequence...

I've slipstreamed my windows 2000 disc with service pack 4, but the install cd is the upgrade. Most of the machines I delpoy this on work fine, but on some it asks me to insert the Service Pack 4 CD at the install screen. I've noticed this only happens on the same machines where I actually have to put in my Win98 cd first, then put the 2000 cd back in. Any ideas on why this is happening? Is it because I'm using the upgrade and not the full. (don't have much choice, as our open licenses are for the upgrade). Or did I make my bootable CD incorrcectly? Any insight into this is appreciated. Thank you.

I was at an education institute using the lab of the institute, running on windows xp professional service pack 1. Then out of nowhere there is a pop up window saying that it need to shut down with 50-60secs i guess. Any clue on this? I did try to look for help in www.microsoft.com but cant find any related topic. My friend just encountered this kind of problem 2-3days back also. I am not having problems at my Home pc cos i am using windows xp professional, version just before service pack 1.

A:Windows XP service pack 1 - auto shutdown error? :(

Yeah.... First turn on the windows Internet Connection Firewall. start->controlpanel->internet connections. Right click on the connection for your ethernet card, and select properties. Click on the advanced tab. Put a check in the box for "use the internet firewall".

Now update windows. Most of the things that cause this have been fixed by various windows patches/hotfixes.

Hey,

I tried to install SP1, but Windows Update still gives me that error (8024200D). Installing without Windows Update doesn't work. Tried System Update Readiness Tool and installing again - still no effect. SFC scan also didn't find any problems.

I was trying to find solution on Internet, but no results... So I am writing here for help ;/

Hi,

Hope someone can help me with this issue.

I am trying to install Windows 8 64 Bit on a HP 2530p laptop using a USB Flash Drive that I set up with DiskPart and copied OS files to - from DVD disc.
I first tried to install using a DVD disc in a external DVD RW I plugged into USB port of laptop - this laptop has no built-in optical drive.
I got the same error code with DVD disc that I get with USB Flash drive.
I formatted HD during beginning of install so there is no OS on laptop...

Windows cannot install required files. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x80070570.

I ran a MemTest86 and did a HD Test from BIOS and both passed.

Any thoughts?

Thank you all

I would rebuild your USB install drive, you might have ended up with some corrupted files. Was this computer shipped with Win 8? if not then you'll need to set up your USB to boot UEFI, IE is has to be formatted fat 32, then on boot up hit which ever key on your computer that brings up a boot menu select you UEFI USB drive
UEFI Bootable USB Flash Drive - Create in Windows
Upgrade Install to Windows 8 or Windows 8.1

However I would use RUFUS to create your install USB thumb drive

Hi,

I'm experiencing a strange problem when installing Windows 7. At the file expansion stage, error code 0x80070570 appears and my installation fails.
Funny thing is, I installed 7048 from a DVD burned image 2 weeks ago and it worked fine. Downloaded 7057 and durned the .iso to DVD and when trying to install to formatted partition this error appeared. Since then I can't re-install 7048 either!
This is driving me crazy, I've tried different DVD drives, re-burned the .iso's at slow speed, but no luck.
Anyone managed to resolve this problem?
BTW, I am installing x64 versions...
Thanks

Make sure you take your computer CPU and memory overclocks back to original specs. I can install by x86 without any problems but always have to take off my overclocks when I install or upgrade my x64 versions.

I turned my Mcafee Firewall off, so I could install the "Windows XP Service Pack 3" Update I received. It installs about half of the bar. And then it stops and gives me an Error Message. It says "Can not Copy File Syssetup.info" So then it has to uninstall what I had installed. And that's as far as I get with it. A:FAILURE TO CONFIGURE WINDOWS 7 SERVICE PACK 1 x-64: Error 0x80070490

Conventional wisdom is that you are likely to have to do a repair install of the OS before updating to SP1.
Your CheckSUR log is clear
Your CBS log is regenerating at a high rate - which is not a very good sign - but the SFC scan produced no errors found.
I eventually found the SFC log in the CbsPersist_20130113214718.cab file - 180MB of data generated in less than 5 hours!

Here's a sample of some of the errors in that file.....

Hello,

I'm trying to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 x64 KB976932 but i keep getting Error 8024200D.

1) did start SFC Scan 5 times - no noticeable error notified. "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
2) downloaded the "System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7" for Windows 7 x64
3) started it and attached the logs
4) found an entry in the forum for this error but didn't help. cbs.zip contains only cbs.log (made a copy cause windows wouldn't let me zip it - file being accessed)

Thanks for your help,
