Microsoft Lumia 640 Is 15 minutes or more off. Appointments changed by 15 minutes

Q: Microsoft Lumia 640 Is 15 minutes or more off. Appointments changed by 15 minutes

How and why did this happen? I have reset the time manually and turned off the automatic time update. So far the time and date are staying correct.
The calender items are a combination from Outlook and Google calendars. I believe the appointments with the 15 minute time change were entered in a window after those that the time did not change. There are also appointments where the time changed 6 hours.
In reviewing the forums I see this has been a consistent problem for 5 years, but I don't see solutions. Why has it not been addressed in your steady stream of updates?
I like having my calendar in the phone and not carrying a paper calendar. I also like having two interfaces that match among my devices. I would like to avoid the Android and iPhone phones.
Please explain why this happened, how to fix it, and how to avoid it.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help me with booking Outlook 2010 appointments in 10 minute periods? As far as I can see, only half hour periods are permitted and I would like to enter an appointment for 2:20pm.

I am running Windows XPSP3 with AVG Free, Spybot, Adware, Winpatrol and ZoneAlarm Firewall. Recently my computer has been running very, very slow. My anti-virus scans have increased from 40 minutes to 90 minutes. My anti-virus scan finds Adware.RogueSuspect and Adware.WhyPPC each time it scans and lists these are "warnings". Also, when I run Disk Cleanup and Disk Defrag recently, computer spends about 30 minutes compacting files (never had this much times spent compacting). Any idea about what is going on here?

A:Windows freezes up for 1-2 minutes a few minutes after startup

Open msconfig and on the General tab choose "selective startup" (uncheck all three items) and reboot. Does the problem still occur? If not, start adding items back to msconfig one or two at a time, rebooting after each change, until the problem reappears and you'll have identified the offending process. This is clearly a time consuming process, but it is the best way to determine if some process loading with the system is the cause of your problem.

Welcome to SF .

A few more dumps would have been nicer to have for better perspective on the issue.
Regardless, the single bugcheck contains activity with the audio subsystem (portcls & atihdw67)
with the driver involved is pretty recent.

That is not inline with your description of the problem, please upload any
other bugchecks that may exist.

For example I have 290 minutes; I would like to convert that into 4:50.

I have tried multiple ways but can't seem to come up with an accurate formula ???

I am running Microsoft Access 2000

Hi,

Are you sure you have the right specs for your PC, they just don't look right to me.
Your GPU appears to be a laptop only model, yet the quad-core and the 8 gigs of RAM suggest desktop. Could you just check your Graphics card model (type "dxdiag" into the start menu and then go to the display tab when the window opens).
Also, is your computer a desktop or a laptop.

I recently bought a bunch of blank DVD's and on the box (and also on the discs) it says 4.7GB and 120/240 minutes. However, I dragged and dropped a movie file into my burning programme (Nero Vision 4/Nero 7 Premium) which was 1.39GB in size and 3 hours 15 minutes in length. To my dismay the quality setting had dropped to the 'Low' setting. How can this be ? The length of the movie is well within the 4 hours available (240 minutes) and well within the file size limit of the disc - 4.7GB. Nero is telling me that I've used up 4.37GB of 4.38GB, this is even more confusing. How can I access this 240 minutes which is available on these discs. Also what is meant by 120/240 minutes ? Is 2 or 4 hours or what ?

A:240 minutes ???

120/240 minutes means the recording time varies for video depending on the quality selected at the recording stage.

The quality of your video has been decreased to fit on the disc, owing to the fact that Nero Vision re-codes the movie to a format which is different than the source.

To avoid loss of quality you need to use dual-layer 8.5GB media (and a dual-layer DVD writer of course)

Does anyone have an idea of how many minutes of VHS will fit on a CD. I've seen posts saying anywhere from 20 minutes to the 80 minutes listed on the cd . I would assume I wouldn't need to burn at top quality since I'll be working with VHS. I kind of liken it to scanning an image at 600 dpi quality and printing on a printer that can only print at 300 dpi. I see no reason to burn at a quality greater than the quality of the VHS I'm starting with. Is this correct logic??

A:How many minutes on a VCD

The following link seems to indicate 70 minutes but as with normal cd record, some space is lost to overhead in formating and recording the setup info.

Like the title says - every 2 minutes, while my XP system is running, something is starting up & shutting down.

I can go into Control Panel + Adminestration Tools + Performance and watch the graph spike up to about 80% cpu, then it stops. But 2 minutes later, it does it again. If I play a game, such as MCM2, it basically stops the game for 2 seconds, then goes back to normal play - ruining the game.

Question:

How can I find out what is doing this?

I know of a lot of other people who have the same problem with their systems. If I knew what it was, I could shut it down and help the other people too.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just found this help forum and am thankful that it is here and available.

Running Win 2k, with mozilla (or netscape, it dosn't matter). Whenever the system turned on, not even connected or dialed in, the default browser will be initiated. If you shut down the browser (x it) it will be called by something within 5 minutes (seems to be exactly). Hence it will reappear again. This is a pain, especialy when I am using a spreadsheet, word processor or what ever. The only way I can prevent the re-occurrence is to keep a minimized copy.

What triggers the browser every 5 minutes?

Thanks
ken

I'd have to say some sort of spyware/malware has got ahold of you. Have you run spyware scans and a current AV scan? If so, you might try posting a HijackThis log and someone here will see what you appear to have...

A:screensaver 3 minutes

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

You probably have an event that brings the computer out of the screensaver mode every 2 or 3 minutes. Think of it as an automatic shake of the mouse. Please try the steps mentioned in this tutorial to ferret out the culprit.

If that fails to find the issue, we can try Process Monitor...
...but Process Monitor can be a bit overwhelming.
See my posts here and here.

I have XP pro and I have the following problem both with SP1 and SP2. Every exactly five minutes my pc stops responding for a few seconds, mouse is moving but clicking doesn't work until after the "slowdown" has finished, i can hear the disc working in bursts. It is very annoying, for example if i'm dl something, because sometimes the connections time out and in any case i experience a big drop in download speed. Or a game i'm playing freezes, or I can't see what i'm writing in word.

If i have the windows task manager open i can see lsass.exe suddenly getting cpu power, but not 100%. I've checked with many different antivirus and antispyware software, without any result.

any ideas?

Hi Everyone, I have a PC that seems to lock up after about 5 minutes. I tried reinstalling Windows XP to see if that was the problem, but half way through the installation, it again locked up. Anyone know what may be causing this? It is a no-name computer with 256 MB of RAM. Anyone have any ideas?

A:PC Locks up after 5 minutes

Any number of things could cause this. Could be heat, bad memory, or a defective CPU or motherboard. Start with the heat scenario and move from there. Make sure all of the fans are running, including CPU, power supply and GPU or chipset fans if there are any.

A:everything freezes after a few minutes

Update: I disconnected my monitor and rebooted (I'm on a laptop with a monitor connected to it)

It's been running a malware scan for almost 15 minutes now which is much longer than usual. Could the freezing be related to my video-card and the second screen?

(I'm running this scan in safemode with network - can't run scan without internet)

Update2: After 18 minutes the scan froze, and I had to reboot. Very frustrating I fear there's no other option than to backup and re-format. But I'll wait to here if I can get any feedback from here
update 3: Another thing I noticed that's odd is that "Microsoft Windows is no longer responding" or something similar. I've had this laptop for 3 years and I've never had a bluescreen on it before, nor have I experienced that windows stopped responding. Normally it's just a program or explorer.exe that stops responding, which happens now and then, but not windows.
Any thoughts?

Hello Let me begin by telling my story Yesterday I was playing League of legends and Crash 2-5 minutes after Starcraft HotS I had to go to sleep so i exit'ed starcraft and shut the computer I was in a rush and can't remember if I let the computer shut itself or if i clicked the big button I was at work all day and got home around PM and started Crash after 2-5 minutes my computer It worked fine a while then I clicked a button in the game and the whole froze I could still make quot squares quot by dragging the mouse on the desktop i pressed ctrl alt delete to get up the big blue screen where u select task manager but the system crashed Same thing in both windows xp and windows partition Been a while since i used the windows xp partition though Went into Windows Safe mode uninstalled a game and deactivated most services and startup items that weren't microsoft I still have the crash at windows xp i crashed in the login screen and windows i crashed just after logging in and starting up a program It feels like a overheat problem but safe mode won't crash the computer The longer I wait between starting the computer letting it cool the longer time i have before it freezes completely Suggestions

A:Crash after 2-5 minutes

Update:

Installed SpeedFan 4.49 in safe mode on windows 7

When i opened the start menu, the whole **** lagged out again.
Everything is lagged out except for speedfan and it tells me i have about 0.6% CPU usage.
Edit: After i lagged out, I clicked in a dropdown menu in speedfan, then it lagged more. After about 90 seconds everything went black except for speedfan, then after a little while i had BSoD.

I was using the computer normally 2 days ago, without a single problem. I didn't install or download anything

Hi everybody,

My Windows 8 professional keeps BSOD every 30 minutes, or there abouts.

I've tried to decode the DMP files, but don't seem to be getting anywhere (the debug tool MS provide is ~1GB and my internet is very slow, so this isn't a viable option)

I've recently formatted my laptop and then installed Win8, and I believe I've installed all of the correct drivers onto my Dell Studio 1558.

Could anyone please help? I've attached the files that should be able to help you.

Regards,

James

The first device appears to be a phone and Windows cannot start it. Please physically remove the phone from the computer, then uninstall the software for it.

The other device appears to be a problem with a Microsoft network device that isn't working.
Locate this device in Device Manager, right click on it and select "Uninstall"
Reboot and check to see if the error has gone away.

These are all Registry errors and appear to be occurring when running ngen.exe
What are you using that requires this tool?
I would suspect that the ngen version is outdated, but cannot find any trace of it in the system reports.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Hello,

My computer generates that Windows tone that signifies the completion of a task, every 5 minutes, when it is on.

It just started doing this yesterday. The only changes to my system were the installation of the MSFT Junk Mail filter and Malicious Software removal tool. A Dell tech updated my monitor driver but Dell says there is no connection.

I don't, knowingly, have any alarms or reminders set. All thoughts will be appreciated.

Thanmks

Hello removed and welcome to BleepingComputer. You have Microsoft Antispyware running. The MSAS real-time protection can interfer with the fixes we are about to do so we need to disable it for the duration of this cleanup.Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.Click on Tools, Settings. In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended). After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware. To re-enable it, you follow the same steps but check Enable Real-time Protection.Download LQfix.zip. Unzip it to your desktop. Doubleclick on LQFix.bat. A command window will open and close again, that is normal.Configure Windows to enable viewing of Hidden and System files. Start HJT and click on the SCAN button. Put a check mark in front of the following lines if they still show:R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = about:blankR3 - Default URLSearchHook is missingO4 - HKLM\..\Run: [checkrun] C:\windows\system32\elitednl32.exeO16 - DPF: {1C955F3B-5B32-4393-A05D-24B4970CD2A1} - http://stream10k.redhotnetworks.com/cabs/videox.cabO19 - User stylesheet: (file missing)With ALL OTHER WINDOWS CLOSED, click on Fix Checked.Open Windows Explorer (Windows key+e), navigate to and delete the following files and folders (Don't be concerned if they can not be found):C:\windows\system32\elitednl32.exeIf any of these resist being deleted, boot into Safe Mode and try from there. It appears you are running Windows in 'Selective Startup' mode. In other words you have some programs disabled via MSCONFIG. I need those programs re-enable to be able to get a complete picture of your system. Go to Start | Run, type in msconfig and click OK. - On the Startup tab, note which items are unchecked. - Re-enable all items by putting a check mark in from of the currently unmarked items. - OK you way out of msconfig. DO NOT REBOOT. - Open HijackThis, scan, and save a fresh HJT log.- Return to msconfig and uncheck the items that were previously unchecked. OK your way out of msconfig.Post the fresh HJT log.

Hi everyone!

I rebuilt my computer about a half a year ago, I moved my old mainboard (Matsonic 8083E) to a new box, exchanged the power fan, got a new harddrive, formatted everything and reinstalled XP.

The problem I have been having is that my system freezes after about 3-5 minutes, then it goes through a period of about 5 minutes where it freezes all the time when I reboot. But if I keep the power plugged in it snaps out of it after 5 minutes!! Then the computer runs for hours problem free!!!!
I've scanned with AdAware, Spybot, CWS shredder, Bazooka and Norton. No problems found, just DSO exploit that won't go away..

Would very much appreciate your help!!

Thanks!

Ok, I just build a PC and it's shutting down during the Windows XP setup. Everything went together fine, if my cables inside the case are a bit unorganized.

The only problem I noticed is that my CPU ran at 70 C minutes after startup. I passed POST, and my mobo, which has a nice LED digital error code display gives me nothing. The PC just shuts off.

It won't stay with me long enough for XP to install. Although it ran for 15 minutes so I could set up my BIOS stuff and copy XP from the CD to my HD partition.

Please...any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you!

A:PC Shutdown after 5-15 minutes

I got it to run better by lowering the CPU multiplier by 1x.

After 15 minutes of running....the temp on the processor was 88 C. This is hot correct? The chip is a E6600.

As of right now I'm watching the temp fall back to 80....

my computer keeps restarting with a blue screen and the error messages are different each time; I've attempted to wipe clean the windows and all data doing a fresh re installation but the same problem comes back 2-3 days after the re-installment. i tried looking for solutions online but i'm not very fluent in anything to do with computers so i'm hoping to get some help here. here are some diagnostics reports i got through what i managed to make sense of from other online resources hopefully it'll have the information you guys need for pointing me in the right direction to fix this problem.

thanks in advance!

A:Restarts After 2 Minutes

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you. You've got some issues in your log that we need to take care of, but first you need to move hijackthis into a more secure location.Download and run the HijackThis autoinstall program Please choose the default location of C:\Program Files as the destination.Run the program only from that location from now on. It is essential that you follow these steps or certain important features of the program will not function correctly.Once you have Hijackthis running from this folder, please reboot and post a new hijackthis log as a reply in this thread.

My Dell Dimension 2400 with XP Home gets disconnected from my ISP every 5 to 8 minutes. There's an icon on my task bar that says, "LOCAL AREA CONNECTION. A NETWORK CABLE IS UNPLUGGED" I have no idea what that means or what to do about it. Could that be the reason for my disconnects?
Thanks for any help you can send my way.

A:A disconnect every 5 to 8 minutes...

Could be a faulty NIC driver. Go to the Dell website and see if there are any updated drivers for your NIC.

A:CiD Pop ups appearing every few minutes

You have two anti-virus programs running which will cause problems. Remove one of them.

Download OTScanIt.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.

Close any open browsers.
If your Real protection or Antivirus intervenes with OTScanIt, allow it to run.
Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
In Additional Scans section put a check in Disabled MS Config Items
Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
The program will be scanning huge amounts of data so depending on your system it could take a long time to complete. Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
Save that notepad file
If the log is too large to post, use the Reply button, scroll down to the attachments section and attach the notepad file here.

A:BSOD every 20 minutes

Lol, you made a thread on 4chan? I wonder how that went...

Anyway, can't do analyzing with images. Please follow Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions - Windows 10, 8.1, 8, 7 & Vista if you can get the system to boot.

If you can't, 0xF4 and 0x7A together are 99.9% telling me your hard disk is simply just done. Do you have another one to swap to test?

When my computer starts, after couple of minutes of using, he freezes.
It happened just few days ago.
I also have a problem that when the screen going of because of the screen saver, and I want use the computer, the only to do that is to do a restart.
And also before the problem my computer has been working slow sometimes...

So I wanted to know if there any program that I can run it for a few hours and she checks if the RAM/GPU is ok? Because I think it's an hardware problem...

I always zero in on heat in these cases. Go into the bios on start-up and look for "Health" (different on some computers). Post the temperatures back here both in Fahrenheit and Celsius.

We need the actual .dmp file for analysis.. Navigate to c:/windows/minidump and zip up the .dmp files, then attach them to your next post...

Hey, I keep getting a BSOD that say either Memory Management or Page fault in nonpaged area. Now, I had this problem before, and it was bad ram (16 gb of corsair vengeance) but I replaced it with kingston hyperX and the problem seemed to go away until just recently. Its back and i have no clue what to do, since I replaced my ram and the problem came back. Could it be my motherboard that is somehow ruining my RAM? I have no idea what to do here..

Motherboard: Asrock970 Extrem3

My work PC freezes after about 15 minutes from starting. I can't do anything at that point and I need to restart it by pressing power button. After second start it runs normally for the rest of the day. Next day when I switch it on it happens again and it's been like that for the last week. It froze on IE, Firefox and Outlook. I checked event viewer but don't really know what to look for as only errors that I've found were that of unexpected machine restart. I've checked installed programs and there's nothing there recently. Any ideas?

Hello all:
My brother's PC runs XP Pro.
I'm not sure he's the safest web-surfer.

Every five minutes (more or less) it generates a mouse-click sound.
Don't know what does it or to where it is clicking.

Furthermore, the active window loses focus regularly.
For example, you might be browsing Internet Explorer or any other program, scrolling down the window, and all of a sudden the window loses focus and you are no longer scrolling anything.

It's annoying when you are trying to type something.

Any suggestions?

I installed and ran Spybot for him and he insists on Spyware Doctor though I am suspicious of it.
He has kept up w MS updates.

A:Pc Mouseclicks Every Five Minutes

Are you finding any suspicious processes in Task Manager? When you experience or encounter strange behavior, always check for new, unknown or suspicious processes that may be running on your system.Anytime you come across a suspicious file or one that you do not recognize, search the name using Google or the following links:BC's File DatabaseBC's Startup Programs DatabaseFile Research CenterDetermining whether a file is malware or a legitimate process sometimes depends on the location (path) it is running from. One of the ways that malware tries to hide is to give itself the same name as a critical system file. However, it then places itself in a different location on your computer. A file's properties may give a clue to identifying it. Right-click on the file, Properties and examine the General and Version tabs.If you cannot find any information, the file has a legitimate name but is not located where it is supposed to be, or you want a second opinion, submit it to jotti's virusscan or virustotal.com. In the "File to upload & scan" box, browse to the location of the suspicious file and submit (upload) it for scanning/analysis.-- Then post back with the results of the file analysis.

Everything runs fine on startup for about 20 minutes. Then it will do nothing but show the hour glass. I'm running xp on firefox. Cannot ctl-alt-dlt either. I have to turn off the computer manually. When restarted it works fine. The processor fan is on and running.

A:everything stops after about 20 minutes

Post a Hijack this log.
Download HiJackThis here:
Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
Double-click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\HiJackThis.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
Put a check next to 'Create a desktop icon' and click 'Next' again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click 'Finish' and it will launch HijackThis.

Click on the 'Do a system scan and save a log file' button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click 'Save' to save the log file. The log will open in Notepad.
Click Edit => Select All => Edit => Copy.
Paste the log in your next post.
from that we may be able to determin if you have to many programs running in the background

I've had like 30 BSOD's over the past 2 days. I've checked on things and it's mainly when I start uTorrent. After a few minutes, it BSOD's. It's mainly .sys that is listed in the memory dumps. Had one .exe listed. They were nwifi.sys, nvlddmkm.sys, tcpip.sys, athrxusb.sys, ntkrnlmp.exe, pacer.sys, and memory_corruption. Any ideas? Let me know if you need more information.

I've attached a text file of the memory dumps to be more precise for you all. Sorry if I was rambling there.. xD

Hi Takara welcome to the forum. It looks like you have driver issues. As a start I would suggest you remove any non native Win 7 drivers. Download the latest Win 7 GPU drivers from Nvidia and install those and the ones for your chipset as well. Report back once you have done this.

My comuter normally takes about minutes to boot up Unfortunately yesterday it just hanged after the first black screen with the windows symbol in the middle and after about - minutes there was a message that it could 10-15 minutes To Up? Boot not boot and tried to do an automatic repair The message later said it could not repair the problem automatically and 10-15 minutes To Boot Up? would send an error message 10-15 minutes To Boot Up? on line It booted up fine into safe mode and I deleted my graphics card driver in case that 10-15 minutes To Boot Up? was the problem I used a third party programme to run a disk check and now it will eventually boot up into windows after hanging on the same screen for to minutes which is very frustrating - the graphics card driver was automatically loaded after it boot up into Windows with no option of a roll back I recently upgraded to Windows service pack and also upgraded my ATI Raedon series Graphics card driver to version to dated - - I have no idea where to start debugging this problem so any help would be appreciated Kind Regards Chris

A:10-15 minutes To Boot Up?

Hello Chris.

Have you tried a system restore to a point before you originally updated the video driver, that would be the best, first thing to try; have a look at Option Two in this tutorial at the link below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

I don't know why but my computer keeps locking after two minutes of being idle. It goes straight to the logon screen and says locked. I've checked power settings but no luck. It just keeps doing it. Any ideas what is happening?

It's driving me nuts.

A:PC locks after 2 minutes

Hello there.

Could you elaborate a little bit better your issue? does it reboot after the locking? do you have to manually reboot it? do you see any strange behavior?

Could you upload a screenshot of Resource Monitor (resmon) in the CPU tab sorted by CPU usage? use the paperclip button to attach an image

Hi and welcome Gualtiero

I took a quick look at 2 of the three dumps. there are 3 issues
first old drivers the below at least need to be updated especially \dxgkrnl.sys
Second memory corruption
DL and run memtestx86 for several hours (prefered over night)
run a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admiin>sfc /scannow

Let us know the results

My laptop is crashing every few minutes and I'm not sure why. I've downloaded the Debugging Tools for Windows but it says it doesnt have the symbols necessary for my dmp.

Any help would be appreciated!

A:Crash every few minutes

Welcome to Sevenforums!

A few questions to help us solve your issue:What version of Windows 7 and where did you get it?
Have you updated the BIOS in the lappy to latest version?

I've been getting multiple BSOD's even as soon as Windows has finished booting. Majority of the BSOD's are caused by tcpip.sys with various different bug check strings and codes.

My system: (only about 3 weeks old)

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel Core i5 2500
ASRock H61M/U3S3
Sapphire Radeon HD6950 2GB
Corsair HX-650

Tests I have done:

FurMark burn-in test with extreme burn-in settings and noticed no artifacts or overheating.
Driver Verifier for about 12 hours without any problems
Prime95 Torture test for about 12 hours without problems

I would appreciate any help at all because the problem is driving me crazy Thanks.

A:Several Different BSOD's in a few minutes

Hi.

Remove avast from your system.

Download, install and use Microsoft Security Essentials with windows firewall.

Update software\driver for FNet Turbo HDD USB Driver

Welcome to PQI Website

Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker you may need to run it 2-3 times to "fix" everything.

Run RAM - Test with Memtest86+
leave it to run overnight.

Finish with the above steps and post back.

I've had no problem with this before (not in the beta either), but suddenly, my computer just started to ignore input after a random amount of time.

I can press a few keys like Windows Key + L, move the mouse, etc.

But if I click the mouse or press a key, nothing happens.
I can work for some time, then suddenly it locks like that. I then click around and trying to type thinking it's frozen, and it just stays like that. Though, it's not frozen as everything with animation is still moving, and sound keeps going, I just can't click or press keys.
I then found out that if I press Windows Key + L to go to the "Switch user" screen, all the clicks and keypresses I did while it was frozen are processed, and it's all back to normal, for a random amount of time.

A:Input ignored after a few minutes.

This is getting really annoying. I can write whole essays when it locks up, then hit Windows Key + L and watch it all type in -.-

These crashes were all caused by hardware, in this case you network driver (netw5v64.sys-- which is circa vista) Replace it. Update the others listed below

It is possible, though not very likely given dell's limited bios options that you can enable the ide option for your cd/dvd drive in the bios of your computer. I don't have any personal experience with your particular model though.

I watch repeated TV programmes using BBC iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer using both Opera 9.26 and I.E.7 in Win XP Pro SP3. I've started seeing the following problem:
Without warning, the full-screen display mode reverts to a display-within-page view. Normally this only occurs if the Escape key is pressed, or at the end of the programme.
This happens at exactly 10 minute intervals, and synchronised with clock time 'on the hour'.
Although I disable the screensave before watching the programme, the screensave gets enabled whenever the display switches from large picture to small picture. I use a program called ControlSS to manage screensaver use, and its icon changes from disabled to enabled when this 10-minute effect happens within the browser.
Both Opera and IE are similarly affected.
A second computer on the same internet router does not display this problem, so I think we can eliminate the ISP.

I'm infuriated and baffled. What can I do? Thanks for suggestions.

Hello tthedd and welcome to TSF,

Is the machine more stable in Safe Mode?

1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Use the up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode and press Enter.
5) Login with your usual account.

If so, restart the machine again and boot into Safe Mode with Networking. Follow the instructions in our pre-posting topic New Instructions - Read This Before Posting for Malware Removal Help and post the requested logs in your next reply.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

I have just done a new install of WIN XP Pro on my PC. Now when I use IE after a few minutes it stops displaying pages - page cannot be displayed messages come up after waiting a long time for the page to appear. It will only work again after I disconnect and then reconnect and re open IE - merely closing IE and starting it again makes no difference. I use AOL Dialer to connect to the internet. I have downloaded all the latest updates.

I am typing this on Wordpad and cutting and pasting as by the time I would enter it on the forum IE would have locked up again.

Does anyone know whats causing this and is it an AOL problem or an IE problem

Thanks,

Derek

My computer takes 7 minutes to boot. I have run mbam complete scan, avast! standard scan, and superantispyware complete scan, all in safe mode, and I have run checkdisk. I have run Glary Utilities scan, and I have run disk cleanup and defragmenter. I have followed the instructions in the topic "4 minutes for computer to boot!" that appears in this forum. None of these actions had any effect on the startup time. I have Windows XP pro, 1.69 ghz and 1.12 gb of RAM. Can anyone help?Edit: Moved topic from Windows Startup Programs Database to the more appropriate forum. ~ AnimalThanks Animal, I thought maybe I had too much stuff at startup, I started out there, didn't really know where to post. yd5

A:7 Minutes to boot

I really doubt, 7 minutes startup is caused by a software issue.Let's get some info from you...Please, post some computer info:- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key , hit Pause/Break key)- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")- security programs in use (antivirus, firewall)===============================================================Download Autoruns for Windows: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinte...s/bb963902.aspxNo installation required.Simply unzip Autoruns.zip file, and double click on autoruns.exe file to run the program.Go File>Save, and save it as AutoRuns.txt file to know location. You must select Text from drop-down menu as a file type: Attach the file to your next reply.

Over the last few months, I have tried lots of things to fix these bsod, most recently, and relevantly:
- binned a pci serial card
- upgraded to the gfx card to the 9600 from a 7600
- had all of the ram replaced under warranty
- reformatted and reinstalled windows

I have attached the most recent memory dumps, taken since reformat; I have to admit that I don't really understand them I have looked at tutorials for debugging, but I am stumped
The crashes seem to come at anytime, from working in Adobe Lightroom to just browsing the web in IE8, I don't even have flash player installed.
Before the reformat having the latest versions of drivers didn't seem to help, and since the reformat going with the ones vista found doesn't either!
I have attached the latest 5 dumps, any ideas?
thanks
Steve

How well matched are those RAM modules? Did you buy them as a 4 x 2GB set (do they sell those? ), or was it two separate purchases of 2 x 2GB?

At first glance, your minidumps look rather indicative of a hardware problem. The one with TCPIP.SYS and the "timer wheel" in particular. Have you tried running just 2 x 2GB for a bit?
