Is it possible to upgrade wifi single band card originally installed on my laptop to dual band for picking up 5G. If YES, what the model?Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-DV6t-6c00-dual-band-Bluetooth-wifi-card-upgrade/td-p/5789032
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I would like to know if this model is compatible with the following card:http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Ralink-RT3090BC4-802-11b-g-n-WiFi-N-BT-Bluetooth-PCI-e-Card-SPS-602992-00... If not, then what kind of dual band + bluetooth card CAN I get? Also, is my system eligible for Win 10 upgrade? It says upgrade now or later but I have friends with the upgrade making their system freeze, corrupt recovery partitions and refuse to restore. Any help I would LOVE! Oh! Also, How would one partition part of their HDD to be used as RAM and is that even a good idea? I'm learning.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-DV6t-6100-CTO-Quad-dual-band-Bluetooth-upgrade/td-p/5642895

I'm not exactly sure why or what is the culprit, but I want to attempt to figure out what it is before I send my laptop back, so I know what to expect. I've had this freezing problem since I first got it in June. And it only ever does it if I have a couple active browser windows/tabs open and doing stuff online, AND listening to music. I've tried different music players, winamp pro, heard about foobar2000 and still all the same problem.
I'm tech savvy but as far as figuring out what to do next, and what to run tests for I'm clueless. Please help!!!
does it freeze or does it freeze and bluescreen?
Do you get any error messages of any sort?
My guess would be to try to uninstall and reinstall the chipset/audio/video drivers to see if there is any confusion.
I looked online and I'm still a bit confused whether I should get dual or single band wifi for a laptop that I would like to purchase. Can someone explain to offer a suggestion as to which one is best?
Thank you in advance.

do you mean a router
or as part of the laptop spec ?
what router do you have and does it work in dual band simultaneously
the advantage of the 5ghz signal is if you are in a crowded 2.4ghz environment then 5ghz helps avoid interference - also the coverage is wider - although the 5ghz router i have linksys - does not seem to be
if your current router only works in 2.4ghz , then no advantage in the short term
some routers are advertised as dual band - but you have to choose between 2.4 or 5 ghz and so ALL devices will need to support 5ghz
My school has now only got 5ghz wireless and now my laptop doesn't see the wireless network as a result. To fix this I need to upgrade my laptops wireless single band WirelessN card to a dual band AC card with bluetooth preferrably. I don't care if it is an original HP card so long as it fits properly and works. My laptop has an I7 quad core in it, 1 gig DDR5 graphics, 4gig RAM, 15.6" screen.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Need-a-wireless-ac-dual-band-card-with-bluetooth/td-p/5798762
Hi, Is there a dual band wireless adapter I can put in my Pavilion dv6 (product # A3E86AAR#ABA)? The current adapter installed (Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11b|g|n WiFi Adapter) doesn't work very good and is not compatible with 5 GHz. If there is one available how do I make sure I buy the correct/compatible model/part number? Thanks,Brad

Does anyone know which model & size of WiFi card that used on Inspiron 7459? I purchased this All in one from BH and it only came with one band 2.5Ghz G/N WiFi card and this card getting weak signal lately, so looking for a dual band to replace it.
The specs say: One M.2 slot for WLAN and Bluetooth combo card
Have you tried rebooting the router and updating the WiFi driver? Or changing the 2.4 GHz channel being used by the router and PC?
Depending on which WiFi card is installed, and the version of Windows, you can find WiFi drivers on Dell's support page for this PC. Look in Device Manager to see exactly which WiFi card you have and be sure to select the correct version of Windows on the support page before downloading the driver.
Since this is an All-in-One, it might be difficult for you to swap WiFi cards. So perhaps a dual band USB dongle WiFi would be easier to use, and it has the advantage that it can be moved to another PC, if/when you want.
If you go with a USB WiFi dongle, you'll have to go into BIOS setup and disable the internal WiFi card before you'll be able to use the dongle. But keep in mind this will also disable Bluetooth on this PC, so you'd have to buy a WiFi/BT combo dongle if you want to connect any BT devices to the PC.
Also keep in mind that dual band WiFi uses 5 GHz as the second band. The 5 GHz frequency may be less crowded in your neighborhood which could improve things, but 5 GHz typically has a shorter range, so the 5 GHz signal could actually be poorer if the router and PC are in different parts of your house.
If the PC and router are far apart, try to move them closer together. Or maybe consider a compatible WiFi range extender that you plug into a wall outlet closer to the PC that amplifies the WiFi signal from the router. That way you don't have to mess with swapping WiFi cards in the PC or USB dongles...
Sure your router is dual band? Does it support WiFi 802.11 ac?

Hi: What model wireless network adapter does your notebook have? Most likely the bluetooth radio on the wireless adapter is not compatible with W10, but let me know the model, and I will see if there is a W10 driver that may work. If you don't know what model wireless adapter your notebook has, go to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters device category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/driver-bluetooth-for-pavilion-dv6t-7000-win-10/td-p/5629829
installed intel ac-3160 dual band + blue tooth in a Sony notebook system wont allow blue tooth to start.
also there is no interface available to connect any hardware to it, i know it has something to do with some Vaio software on the system.
it allows me to use dual band mode and it shows that blue tooth is present but disables it claiming interference with 2.4 GHz band.
now i have had blue tooth dongles installed working while using 2.4 GHz band before with no issues, so i don't get the issue now.
any input would be appreciated.

I sent this laptop in for repair awhile ago and I just noticed that my computer doesn't recognize my dedicated NVIDIA 650m graphics card. It's not avalible in device manager or anything. It's as if it doesn't exist. I've started doing some work where I really need it and I'm stuck with the integrated graphics. I've ensured every drive is up to date, I've tried downloading drivers from NVIDIA's website, and I've tried downloading HP's posted Windows 8 drivers (there's nothing for WIndows 10). Nothing has worked so far.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Pavilion-dv6t-7000-doesn-t-detect-graphics-card/td-p/5638917

No. Sorry. That model still has the HP BIOS whitelist which will prevent the laptop from booting if anything other than officially sanctioned wireless cards are installed. None of the approved devices is an ac type receiver. Some are combination wifi/bluetooth. Post back if you are interested in locating and installing one of them.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Installing-Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-A-C-7260-Plus-Bluetooth/td-p/5607955
I just upgraded my laptop wireless adapter from "Broadcom BCM43142" to "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac" upon confirmed that the new card is supported from service manual. Both latest Intel wireless and bluetooth drivers are installed (18.104.22.168 and 18.1.1611.3223 respectively). AC connection works perfectly fine; however, the bluetooth seems to be having issue here. For pairing and maintain active connection between bluetooth device and laptop, I have to put them right next to each other literally. Any distance more than 10cm apart, the bluetooth device will be inactive and unusable. I don't have such problem with Broadcom which I can perform pairing and maintain active connection even a meter apart. Does anybody face the same issue before with Intel AC 3160 bluetooth? Or is this a hardware issue with the card itself?
Hi @cfc723, Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand from your posts that you are having an issue with your HP Pavilion 15-p041tx Notebook and the new Wireless card you installed. The only one that was compatible in the service manual for a Intel processor was the Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn 1x1 Wi-Fi adapter. Here is a link to the service manual. Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Intel-Dual-Band-Wireless-AC-3160-bluetooth-issue/td-p/5595211
Just want to add to the compatability discussion....... I just successfully replaced stock RTL3290 adapter in my HP Pavilion n-010dx X360 Win10 64-bit (ver.1607) with an Intel AC-7260. I added a second antenna to inside of the laptop display chassis and the card connected to my SonicWall TZ-217 Wireless N NSA at 300mbps without any fuss. Bluetooth 4.0 works flawlessly with my Jabra STEALTH (v.22.214.171.124) headset (headphone and microphone). Using the stock HP BIOS (updated) and Intel drivers BT_19.10.1635_64_Win10 (64 bit) & Wireless_19.10.0_PROSet64_Win10. Speedtest.net pulls 51.51/5.42 on my 50/5 connection. Totally screams. I've downloaded the driver and i click setup but then it comes up with this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action pleases install a program or,if one is already installed, create a association in the default programs control panel.
I live in a neighborhood with lots of 2.4GHz Wifi (and other) activity, and would like to swap out the wireless card in my Lenovo Z570 so I can use the 5GHz band as well. Is there an official upgrade I can purchase from Lenovo for this? If not, can I get an Intel Wifi card to replace it, or possibly get a Thinkpad-certified card if that is necessary? I understand that the BIOS may prevent non-approved cards from being recognized and used in my system. Thanks in advance for your help! Alan

From the Z570 hardware maintenance manual, the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 6250 agn + WiMax will work fine. You can purchase the Lenovo version of it here Make sure the FRU P/N is 60Y3195. I got a new d-link wireless N router the other day which solved most of my slow internet problems. It is a dual band router and supports 5ghz but my current network card is only 2.4ghz. I'm in an apartment complex so I figure if I run it on the 5ghz band I will get much less interference from other people's wifi. Only problem is I cant really find a dual band pci card??? The only one i've found is a Linksys WMP600N. I was hoping there were some more options out there. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sorry, but like you this is the only one that I could find with a PCI interface. They are a reputable manufacturer though.
Hi, What dual band wifi cards are approved for the S410p? I tested a random Intel card and got the following message: 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. System Halted. Is the whitelist available online somewhere? I couldn't find it. Thanks, BM
Go to Solution.
Hello and welcome,
The best source I know is the parts list in the Hardware Maintenance Manual - IdeaPad S410p, S410p Touch, S510p, S510p Touch . WLAN cards are on page 80. I don't see any that are dual band from the description - but I haven't checked each one individually.
As you probably know, to pass the BIOS whitelist check a card must be an approved model and have a Lenovo FRU number (firmware modified for Lenovo).
I was wondering if it is possible to change my network or WiFi card to a card that supports dual band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands? And if so, what cards will work? Direct link will help. My card is a 1x1 wifi card.
Hi mate i would say go for intel 7260 dual band wireless lan card but do check if it's a full size card or micro but for to make it work you got open the laptop and install the card and install the drivers. If this helped you out please drop a kudos point thanks.
I have a dual band wireless router with 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz using the N standard. I am purchasing a laptop soon. What kind of wireless card will I need to access the the 5.0ghz frequencies? Do I need to have a dual band wireless card or will just a N standard wireless card suffice to see the 5.0 ghz? My work laptop with a "G" wireless card recognizes the 2.4ghz band only, which makes sense.
Hey guys and girls. First post in the forum here I'm about to upgrade some parts on my Pav G6 1344sa, namely replace the HDD with a SSD and replace the DVD drive with the HDD, replace the tired keyboard for a new one and upgrade the wifi card for a 5G dual band so i can untilize the speed of my newly installed fibre broadband. After a bit of research i have read there maybe issues getting the Intel AC 7260 card i just ordered to work in this notebook. Can anyone confirm if it will work? I read that some users have used a tweak of covering pin 20 and/or pin 51 with tape to make it compatible, anyone tried this or can explain how this works? Cheers
No it will not work and the covering of the pins is actually a Lenovo trick that I have never seen anybody recommend for an HP. I would think it will not work since the problem is a whitelist. The card has to prove to the BIOS what it is, not hide what it is from the BIOS so stopping the identification data from being read will just cause the wifi card to be rejected by the BIOS. As stated, there is a BIOS whitelist and only the specific HP branded wifi cards originally offered with the laptop will pass and allow the system to boot past BIOS. If you want that list just post back.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Intel-AC-7260-Dual-band-wi-fi-card-compatibility/td-p/5268994

So about 2 months ago, I purchased the AC53 when I moved in to a house share.
We have Virgin Media SuperHub that does both 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
When I installed it, it worked fine and connected excellently to the 5G band, a few days ago however the 5G connection disappeared off my list and now it always connects me to the 2.4ghz band.
Tried resetting my SuperHub and re-installing the drivers and software utility for the AC53 but alas it doesn't show. My phone however can find and connect to the 5G band.
I'm a bit confused as where to go from here!
Any help would be much appreciated!
After re-installing you can't connect at all or just only connect to 2.4?
Can you run ipconfig /all and post back the results.
Click Start, in the search box type cmd, under programs right click on cmd and select "Run as Administrator".
In the command prompt window type ipconfig /all and press enter.
Next right click within the command prompt and select "Select All" press enter.
Paste the results back in this thread.
I have a 1440p monitor and was wondering if there is any way to get up to that resolution of 2560 x 1440. The max resolution I can get to is 1920x1080 using extend desktop or using only monitor 2. All drivers are up to date. In the manual it says the max resolution supported by the hdmi, which is what I'm using, is 1920 x 1200, but my graphics card is not listed in the manual, which is the 7690m xt. And before you ask, yes all my drivers are up to date, even though the amd display driver is from 2011. I've also tried the other output which is vga, again maxing out at 1080p.
Hi, How do you connect to it, HDMI port on your computer only supports 1920 x 1200 (or 1080). Regards.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Connecting-HP-Pavilion-dv7t-6c00-CTO-Quad-to-2560-x-1440/td-p/5697189
Hello guys, I want to update my computer to have a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, i've tryed some PCI-e boards but It was not compatible...Do you know any PCI-e board wifi and Bluetooth 4.0 that is compatible with Pavilion G6? Thank you
Need exact model and the big question is whether it is in the "whitelist" era. Generally anything with a 4th gen Intel Core or newer is past the whitelist and you can install any wireless or wifi-bluetooth card of the same form factor as long as you have at least 2 antennae which I believe the G6 models do.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Wifi-and-Bluetooth-module-for-Pavilion-G6/td-p/5786320
N600 Wireless Dual Band Router WNDR3400.
I am trying to get a signal out in my garage at the opposite end of my router location. I am getting 1 bar and "poor" signal. I downloaded inSSIDer to analyse my signal and I notice that my "Wireless Network (5GHz a/n)" is not broadcasting anything. The checkbox for "Enable SSID Broadcast" is checked.
I have very limited knowledge of this stuff but it seems to me that if it is a dual band that I should be seeing 2 different signals, right?
All I see is this: Wireless Network (2.4GHz b/g/n)

Here is the Service Manual: Manual It uses DDR333 aka PC2700 SO-DIMM maximum 2 gigs. This memory should work for you: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2X-1GB-DDR-PC2700-2GB-333-PC-2700-SODIMM-LAPTOP-MEMORY-/370498461245?pt=US_M... For the replacement procedure, see page 5-15. The hard drive is shown at Page 5-7. The hard drive type is EIDE aka PATA. This is "legacy" (obsolete) hardware and larger sized PATA drives are getting hard to find. There is no size constraint imposed by the BIOS or hardware, but the market may not supply you with anything bigger than about 320 gigs and it is going to be expensive to find a new one. The biggest I ever saw was a 500 gig but I have not seen one of those in years. You want to try to find a 5400 rpm or 7200 rpm model although 7200s are extermely hard to locate. 4200 rpm models are just too slow to use. It can be done. Hello Everyone, I am having hard time figuring out the right RAM module for HP Pavilion dv6t-1300 CTO Notebook PC. A similar issue was discussed in another topic. And according to the service manual which is located at http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01859609 (this is also the service manual suggested in the other topic for this model) the RAM is DDR2. However when I googled ram upgrade for that specific model it is claimed that the compatible memory module is DDR3. Besides, I have DDR3 installed in dv6t-1300 CTO and it works like a charm.. Can someone help me clear my confusion please!! Thanks in advance.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-dv6t-1300-CTO-RAM-Upgrade/td-p/5789562

Hi, This is and old laptop. From its Maintenance and Service Guide you only have 2 options (for CPU) and 8GB of RAM max. I am thinking to upgrade from windows 7 to 8.1 on my notebook but there are no drivers on developers homepage for windows 8.1. Will windows 7 drivers work fine?
In most cases (all in my case) the Win 7 drivers worked on Win 8. There are a few isolated cases where Win 8 audio drivers do not work properly with Windows 8.1, and updated Win 8.1 drivers are needed, but otherwise it shouldn't be a problem.
Actually, Win 8 will probably install most of the needed drivers, except sound. For sound Windows will only install the generic, basic function, "High Definition Audio Device (Codec).

Hi!FYI, this worked for me, finally a solution!Strangest thing--I uninstalled the Atheros driver. Did NOT reinstall it. After I uninstalled Atheros driver, a right screen Windows 10 style panel immediately appeared--either on notifications panel or in WiFi settings page, was sleepy, don't remember which--containing a labeled entry box for my wifi password. I entered the password and boom, the wifi worked. It's been working since.Again thanks. Will mark solved.

I am receiving numerous blue screens do death. 10 is not stable for more than 5 minutes once it boots up. I upgraded from 8 and have no USB boot stick. Can Acer community help me? Will Microsoft help me? I have posted in ten forum for possible help with windows 10 experts (not Microsoft). I have detailed error messages and even test results for memory, disk and drivers. Very frustrating to have trusted the upgrade and now be completely unstable. Just looking for next suggestion. Thanks in advance

I replaced the screen on my Pavilion dv6, and to do that I had to take off the sticker that is over the display speakers. Now I would like to replace the sticker as it doesn't sit flat against the computer. In the manual the part is named display bezel screw cover (pdf page 98, booklet page 90) On the PartSurfer, under the display options it says "Speaker mesh sticker needed". So those are the two names I have found for this item. But I do not know how to obtain it.
Did this not get an answer? I need one too and have only found price gougers wanting over $30 for the sticker. The stupid replacement screen cost only $75! Curse you HP! It is bad design to put screws behind non-replaceable stickers! Shame on your product managers for allowing such an explicit design flaw...http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/How-can-I-get-a-Pavilion-dv6t-7000-Speaker-Mesh-Sticker/td-p/2746003

Hi,I would NOT recommend such an upgrade. You need a new mtb, heat sink and the cpu. That's a lot's of money as it's very hard to get a RELIABLE product from eBay or Alibaba. I don't think HP have it in stock and if it could like £400 for a new mtb.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavilion-dv6t-3000-CTO-Entertainment-PC-Notebook-Laptop/td-p/5716940
So I have the same issue with 3 dv6t-7200 laptops. I went to HP site and the sticker is $191.70 each. I am seriously confused and pissed if this is just for the sticker.
Hi @benmroz3, Welcome to the HP Forum! It is a terrific place to find answers and tips! For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide. First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I understand that you are looking to replace the mesh that covers the display speakers. You did locate one on the HP website but it was 191.70. Here is the HP ENVY dv6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide. When I checked the manual the part number is for the display screw kit which includes the mesh cover. The part number is 682093-001 and when I checked the HP Parts store, the price is as you stated $191.70. You can contact HP Support to see if they can order the part and provide you the price or if you have questions. Contact HP Support Fill out the online form and follow the prompts. You could also try a web search with the part number to locate one. Please let me know if this resolves the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution". I need to order Windows Vista 64 Bit for an HP Pavilion dv6t-1200 CT laptop. I don't see it on the driver and software page for the model. Does anyone know of a number I may call to see if they can be ordered? Thanks!
HP does not keep the stock of older Recovery kits beyond Windows 7. You can order them from third party providers like the one as follows:http://www.computersurgeons.com/ As this is a special configured model, please provide your product number to them instead of model number for exact recovery kit.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Recovery-Discs-HP-Pavilion-dv6t-1200-CTO-Entertainment/td-p/5772312
My notebook has gone terribly slow and I have triedMcAfee Enterprise, Hitmanpro and even MalwareBytes but to no avail. To make it worse it some times overheats. I have set it on top of a heat dissipation platform it has somewhat helped keeping the heat controlled but the internal fan is still running at very high rpm. gets a bit noisy. what would be a solution to this these problems which seem to be interelated. Thank you
Hi @tchellaram, Thank you for your inquiry. I understand that your notebook is overheating and the performance is slow. Although you have availed yourself to using a cooling pad the fan still constantly runs. Here are two links I think will help you with this difficulty. Actually, I just double checked, and the driver is NOT installed for the Wi-Fi card. I was looking at the driver for the regular LAN controller. I was tricked because it is a MoBo integrated LAN controller, but the driver labels it as a Realtek PCIe.
I did download the driver exe from Realtek and I also tried the one from HP. Neither seems to load the WiFi functionality of this card.
Also, if it helps, the card is a Realtek branded for certain HP laptops.
See my system specs for my laptop make and model. I cannot get the audio driver to install. I have tried two drivers from the HP website that it recommended for this model (sp55094.exe and sp51637.exe) as well as allow Windows Update to locate it for me. It's not working. It is an IDT software, specifically for Beats Audio. And it simply is not installing. It says the hardware is not supported.
Disclaimer: I did get a new mobo over Christmas break, but it was matching identical to the original I'm not sure why the audio's not wanting to work.
Reinstall the Intel motherboard chipset drivers and then see if the IDT will install. Since you had the motherboard replaced the chipset drivers may need to be reinstalled. One of the things the chipset drivers do is define (Identify) all the devices on the motherboard. I have seen many Intel based motherboards that will have problems specifically with the audio chip if the motherboard drivers were not installed during Windows installation.
The Intel chipset drivers are listed on the HP download site for your model.

My PC doesn't get detect 5GHz and the increase bandwidth from my router, so I want to replace it. But before I take it apart, I want to make sure that I can do so and buy the right parts. Is this possible, and if so what should I get? I also want to add bluetooth as I remember the website had an option to do so, but bc the Costco Set Config was cheaper, I went that route instead. Is it possible to do this internally w/o an external part [like a usb dongle] PS. Here is the Product Number: C8P47AV Is there like an installation/repair guide for my laptop model too too?

i have been through about wifi cards in the spand of laptops looking for the best range and speed without the interference i had a realtek dualband wifi card with bluetooth and i sold that to get a a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC expecting that this would be the top of the line in wifi standards i mainly sold my realtek because a issue with buletooth if im using card (Internal) avaible the whats possible adapter+bluetooth best wifi the whats the best possible (Internal) wifi adapter+bluetooth card avaible wifi and i connect my bluetooth headset to the laptop the sound would be choppy and laggy so when i got my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC i was amazed that this quot was quot no longer the issue i connected my HBS- and walked out my apartment and down the hall and the bluetooth was clean but it seems that now perhaps driver change the bluetooth on my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC is also bad i cant even step feet away from my laptop without it cracking to hell at feet and not facing the laptop i disconnect it was never like that before and i know its not my headset because when i connect it to my phone its flawless and i connected another bluetooth adapter and tried and its fine the issue is that when the wifi is on theirs too much interference and yes when i connect to a g network the issue is greatly reduced but for me g is mostly not a option i was wondering if theirs a such thing as a shielded internal wifi wouldn't think so i would just love if i could use the bluetooth and the wifi flawlessly i already for another reason plan to get a Alfa AC external wifi adapter for a desktop but i would rather not use that for my laptophttp://www.tenforums.com/network-sharing/49592-whats-best-possible-internal-wifi-adapter-bluetooth-card-avaible.html
Hello, I have a customer that wants to upgrade his internal wifi card to a dual band AC card. I purchased the intel sual band wireless AC 3160 card and got the unsupported card bios error. Hi I have a new HP Pavilion 15-po78sa Notebook, Product number: J5B65EA#ABU, running Windows 8.1 64-bit The Wifi card is a Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn. I'm getting only 1 bar signal strength but all other devices in the house (laptop, ipad, nexus) have a full strength signal. I tried a Samsung USB wifi adaptor & I'm getting full signal strength with this. I updated the drivers for the Broadcom card but there's no difference.
Hi, I am having exactly the same problem.I recently bought a laptop HP Pavilion 15, product number J1Z18EA#ABZ, running Windows 8.1 64 bit with a Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 bgn WiFi adapter. My modem is barely 3 feet away and the signal strength is 1 bar. My mobile phone (Nexus 5), the iPad and my other laptop (an old HP running Windows 7) are showing full strength (or at least 4 out of 5 bars). All the drivers are up to date and nothing changed. How can we fix this? regardsfilippohttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/HP-Pavilion-15-Weak-wifi-signal-from-Broadcom-card-but-USB/td-p/4669922

Hi,I've been considering buying a new GPU for my SFF M92p.I currently have 1GB 620 GT nvidia GPU & I would like to upgrade to a 2GB GPU. i7-3770 Cpu 3.4GHzWindows 1016GB DDR3 RAM1T HDPSU - 240 Watt I need professional assistance on : - Can i find 2GB GPU to use on this current system @ 240 ?- If not, would i need to change my PSU ? And where do i buy such a unit ? What's it called ? [It's for gaming]
The GTX 750 Ti could work with a SFF M92p. Upgrade to the latest BIOS beforehand, CD ISO method is most reliable. Check that there aren't any taller heatsinks on the motherboard that could interfere with the graphics card (refer to photos of the card.)
Since your system is older, to ensure the necessary airflow, clean the front air intake and fan with vacuum and canned compressed air, jam the fan with a cable tie or similar so it can't spin and over-speed. Same for CPU fan and heat sink, and vac the intake and rear exhaust of the power supply.
I can confirm that this MSI brand low-profile GTX 750 Ti 2GB card works perfectly in my M93p SFF machine without upgrading the PSU: MSI N750-Ti-2GD5TLP
Measuring the power draw running Prime95 (CPU benchmark) , FurMark (GPU benchmark) , charging mobile phone via USB and copying large files at the same time , it stays below 190W. Have been running this for several hours. I have also been playing Fallout 4 (FullHD, ultra textures, 60 FPS) for 100 hours without any problems. As the case is quite compact, I was worried about the temperature but it stays below 80C for the GPU at full power over extended periods of time (about 25C ambient temp in the room).
Installation is ok. Just mount the low profile bracket and move the PCIe 1x WiFi card (if you have one) into another slot. Preferably leave an empty slot next to the graphics card.
Can someone explain in layman's terms how a dual band wireless router works? I've spent months reading various articles and websites, and I still just don't get it. I read on one site (can't remember which) that dual band routers require special wireless adapters, but I've never seen a dual band wireless adapter, so I doubt the validity of that. Is a dual band wireless router good for splitting video streaming from regular web surfing?
If someone knows of a good website that offers a clear and accurate explanation, please post a link. Don't post links from random Google searches. I've read most of them. If they helped, I wouldn't be posting here.
It looks like neither of the drivers above support bluetooth in Windows 10 Home 64-bit, but someone might be able to help.
The WiGig card's driver is the latest, and the 3YX8R cannot be detected by any means!
Thanks a lot.
I have a Linksys WRT600N router connected to my XP computer, and a Linksys WMP600N PCI adapter in my Windows 7 computer, and both are enabled with Dual-Band. I can connect to my 2.4GHz and my 5GHz connections just fine on my Windows 7 computer. My question is, can I connect to both at the same time to speed up my connection, and how?
I dont believe you can connect to both at the same time. Your computer should just connect to the best available connection. Why do you ask, are you not getting good connection speed from the wrt600n or just curious.http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/48912-simultaneous-dual-band-operation.html
Hello, my laptop wifi signal began to fluctuate, even 1m away from router, the signal strength is on the one-point. So I decided to buy a new wifi card intel 7260.But after installing new card and its drivers, LED indication on the key F12 remains orange, unresponsive and i cannot turn it on. Can anyone help?I updated the bios and do the windows update, and using the latest drivers from Intel. Thanks in advance
Hi: You can't use an Intel wireless card in a computer with AMD hardware. That is why it doesn't work. And there is nothing you can do to make it work. Plus your notebook has to have 2 wireless antennas or you can't upgrade the wireless card at all unless you take the whole notebook apart including the display panel to add a second antenna. If your notebook has two antennas, and if you want a dual band wireless N card, you need to get a Broadcom one. Hello I was thinking of picking up a dual a Help choosing router band dual band router during the coming Black Friday sale but really don't know which to buy or Help choosing a dual band router how much I really need to spend Right now I'm using a D-Link running on a Mpbs connection I game once in a while but my main concern is streaming HD video from my main PC to my upstairs PC for my parents I may also cut Cable at a future date and use the internet for all my TV programing I have look at two router so far a higher end D-Link DIR- L with up to Mbps GHz Mbps GHz speeds and a D-Link DIR- L with Mbps GHz Mbps GHz Is there any benefit of getting a router with a higher transmission rate since my connection is only Mbps or am I just paying extra for a whole bunch of nothing I am open to any brand of router so please suggest ones you had good experiences with I just looked at the D-Link cause the DIR- worked very well Thanks
Don't think you'll get any better internet speeds because even 802.11g is at least twice the speed of your internet connection ( 54Mbps) and 802.11n up to 600 Mbps. So, you know, "The weakest link in a chain" saying ? and "Speed of a convoy is the speed of slowest ship". 5GHz range of frequencies is also more sensitive to interference by walls and other obstructions.http://www.eightforums.com/network-sharing/57618-help-choosing-dual-band-router.html

I have just bought a D-Link DWA-160 A2 network adapter and it is really slow.
I have been using a D-Link DWA-125 N 150 A2 for a while now and it is faster, getting a higher signal.
My new network adapter is suppose to be faster.
The only thing I can think of is that the software coming with the adapter never installed. I get an error: Wireless adapter not found! Please insert the adapter now.
Thing is, the driver is installed and I can surf the internet.
I did some speedtest net tests and I see that my DWA-125 A2 is faster. How can this be possible?
Hello, this is my first post and I was hoping someone can help me... I looked on my router and seen that is supports a 5 Ghz connection, but my computer can't find it in the listed networks. I look into it a little bit and find out that my Wi-Fi Adapter does not support it. I was wondering if anyone knew any adapters that would fit my laptop, because I know some computers have different slots for them kind of things or whatever lol. I looked everywhere and I have no clue on how to figure out if there is a dual band adapter that would fit my pc.. :/ The adapter is Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter Thanks!!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Are-there-any-dual-band-Network-Adapters-that-would-fit-my/td-p/5699584

I am needing to replace the Realtek wireless card that came in these systems with an Intel Wireless card that will support dual band. Is there a place I can find what I can install in the following models Lenovo L530Lenovo L540
For the L530: https://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/l530_fru_list_20130819b.xlsx.pdf
See the ADAPTERS AND SUBCARDS section.
For the L540: https://download.lenovo.com/parts/ThinkPad/l540_fru_bom_20140807.pdf
See the WIRELESS AND SUBCARDS section.
In both cases, you should be able to use the FRU P/Ns to determine your options.
Hope this helps.
Hi, Anybody knows what driver to use for this device please? UMB\VEN_0033&DEV_0008&REV_01 Cheershttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Dual-Band-Repeater-Driver/td-p/5610803
Hi all -
I have a couple of questions if someone has some time to help.
I just purchased a new wireless router (Belkin N600) and it has dual bands 2.4 & 5.
It has the option to name each band's SSID differently. I currently have them set to the same name.
Here are my questions:
1. If the components in my house are set to pick up and log into the SSID by default, will they automatically connect to whichever on is faster or less busy, or will they just log into one?
2. Should I be naming the SSID's differently and specifying which components connect to each one?
Does it make a difference?
For reference, here's what's accessing the router:
1 Logitech Revue
Thoughts? Am I overthinking this? If everything is working fine now, should I just leave it, or can I improve performance somehow?
Surely some of those devices only have 'a' or only have b,g or n adapters, so will only connect to the corresponding network. I have no experience with dual band adapters so I don't know what options you have with those. If I did have dual bands I would probably be naming the networks differently and would tell each device to which network I wanted to connect.
It seems like and od question, but those anybody knows if I can connect and USB Hub to the USB port on this router and use lets say a printer and a external HDD at the same time to share on the network. Also I don't have the unit at the moment just planning to get one.
Thanks for the replies.
Check the manual on the D Link site, and I think you'll find that they recommend against using a USB hub. I believe the USB port is meant for a single device.
I recently got a zte g n290 phone,TV phone, but its locked to a particular network/ service provider. I got some info on how to unlock it and did, before I did it said invalid sim but now it goes through and now it searches and then says Emergency / select a network. I've tried other codes and stuff.
If there is any other way that I can do this please inform.

And the problem is?
i have tp-link WDR4300 Dual Band Router. I have installed open-wrt on it. Working perflectly for more than 10 months now.
today morning, 2.4gz network stopped working, none of my devices using this band not getting wifi. Network will show up, b devices won't be able to connect. 5gz network though, is working perfectly, one of my laptops use it.
1- please share how do I solve that.
2- one added issue is that I am unable to login into my open-wrt web interface. i found online that 192.168.1.1 is the address for that, but i just get 'no page foiund' from my browser, even when connecting lpatop with wired connection to router. Any help, to connect to webUI of my OpenWRT interface?
3- in worst case, with no access to webUI of open-WRT, how do i revert back to original tp-link firmware?
thaks in advance..
I hope someone can help me.
The issue is after I stop using my Macbook Air, iPhone or iPad and come back to use them again, I can't connect to the 2.4 ghz band. I can switch to the 5 ghz band without a problem. Then, I can immediately switch back to the 2.4 ghz band and it works. Once I am connected to the 2.4 ghz band and keep using it, I stay connected. It gets frustrating when i get up in the morning or come home from work and I have to do the switch to connect to my home network. Also, the router always switches back to the 2.4 ghz band so this compounds the problem.
I switched routers hoping it would solve it but it's still an issue. I had a Netgear 3800 and now have a Netgear AC1450. My service is with Comcast and I use a Surfboard 6121 modem.
Any thoughts on what's causing this? thanks. Ron
