My laptops touch screen keeps acting buggy. It shows I'm touching the screen even though I'm not. Little bubbles appear as if I'm touching the screen on those spots even though I am not and sometimes they flicker. Would it be a windows 10 bug or the laptop itself? Thankshttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Touch-screen-issues/td-p/5788970
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
After replacing my previous Lenovo Laptop because of my screen going black, my wife purchased this y50-y70 touch as a gift. I only had this since January 2016 and I'm already having problems with this too. I use this as a work computer so it is usually on at least 8 hours a day. The screen has a discoloration at the bottom left corner. It looks like when someone put a magnet next to an old TV causing the display to discolor. Also, the screen flickers a lot. And just today the display turned green. I've updated all the drivers which didn't have any effect on the flickering. After reading some other posts with similar issues, I went ahead and changed some display settings in the graphics properties. I hope someone can help with these issues. I've had this computer for less than a year. I currently have Windows 10 Pro installed.https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Screen-issues-Y50-y70-touch/td-p/3470662
Do you know that like a mouse, the touch screen does not process until you release? Check it out. Put your mouse over a link, hold down the left button, move the mouse and release the button. Nothing happens. It's the same for the touch screen.
How can I change this? I want the touch screen to activate when touched rather than removed. I believe this is in the mouse setting since it is acting like a mouse and performing the same job. I have looked all over the Internet and cannot find the answer. By the way, we have a HP Touch Smart computer running XP Home Premium.

My left hinge malfunctrioned and cracked the screen on the V5-571P-6657 notebook. I took it to a shop to be repaired. They replaced the screen digitizer. The touch screen is now jumping all around and there are bubbles on the screen. The shop told me there is nothing that can be done and I have to disable the touch screen. They said the problem is with a driver that can't be updated because the company was sold. This doesn't seem right. The touch screen was working perfectly well until the hinge malfunction cracked the screen. I have spent a fortune to get it repaired and now they tell me I can't have a touch screen. Can anyone give me some advice? I don't know if the problem is with the digitizer board, but know one sells these anymorehttp://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/V5-571P-touch-screen-issues/td-p/451275
I love this notebook when I have a monitor plugged in, but internal display is horrible as I cant see anything in many applications because of the 4k resaloution. Is there a way to have it set so I can read the applications when I unplug my exxternal monitor? Having to constantly scale every time I unplug is not fun, and I cannot get it quite right. Thanks in advance

Hi I seem to be having a few rcent issues with the touchscreen response on my Yoga S nbsp Seemed to make through the Windows update last year without many issues nbsp nbsp Touchscreen only works when it's folded less than deg from the keyboard If I fold it back or in to Tent or Tablet mode the touchscreen is not responsive at all Seems like this is a sensor transition issue of some sort If I touch the Yoga 11s issues touch (when screen folding) screen while folding the screen back and forth I can see the transition when it stops responding to touch nbsp nbsp When folded any touch to the screen results in a single touch input in the center-right of screen I see the circular touch input on the screen at that point Yoga 11s touch screen issues (when folding) EDIT - this seems to have gone away for now would appreciate some help with nbsp though this doesn't necessarily bode well nbsp Are there Yoga touchscreen drivers or a test utility I can use to try to fix this nbsp WIndows Intel i - Y CPU any other info I can provide nbsp nbsp Thanks in advance John
Follow-up for #1If I fold the screen in (<90 degrees) and view the computer properties, it say "Full Windows Touch Support with 10 Touch Points"If I fold the screen back to regular laptop mode, it says "No pen or touch input available" If I fold/unfold the screen while viewing the Device Manager, I see the # of Human Interface Devices change from 3 (at folded out) to 7 (while folded in)https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Yoga-Series-Notebooks/Yoga-11s-touch-screen-issues-when-folding/td-p/1838144

Hello everyone So I been sending my All in One desktop to Samsung to find out whats wrong with the touch screen And this is the second time its been sent in in the past weeks Today they called after it being there for about a day and they told me that the touch screen issue is something wrong with Windows 8 of Touch Screen issues any Windows have type and told me to wait until is released They said when the screen is calibrated with the tablet PC settings that is when the Windows 8 have any type of Touch Screen issues issue happens But sadly its the issue still happens But they say it doesn't The issue is when your not using the touch screen it acts like you are and on the right edge of the screen every - mins How I can tell is I have Rapr installed and it takes screen shots of my desktop Also I know there is a issue when you have a screensaver and it turns off every - mins So does anyone know of any major touch screen issues in Windows or is Samsung trying to lie to me about trying to fix my computerhttp://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/29450-windows-8-have-any-type-touch-screen-issues.html
I'm having trouble with my touch screen
It worked great at first...then I tried to make it better by...
1) playing around in the gesture options...(task pane)
2) installing synaptic drivers
3) playing around in the touch calibration settings
Now the touch indicator is always 5cm to the "Left" of where I "tap".
ONLY with fingers...
1) the trackpad on the keyboard works.
2) the external (USB) mouse works.
3) the stylus pen works
At this point I think it would be very difficult to "re-trace" my steps...
Especially since the windows 8 "settings" are scattered all over the Metro and Desktop interface...
How can I restore the default Touch settings to my device?
Where can I download windows 8 drivers... for "Surface pro"
All I seem to find are HP, Acer, Samsung etc...
Does Mircosoft have any drivers for their self made "surface"?
K I fixed it...5min after posting
In (desktop mode) control panel...
"Calibrate screen for pen and touch input"
and it works again

I have recently purchased lenovo thinkpad x1 yoga from Germany. I have tried to install different versions of linux ubuntu in dual boot, but none of them seems to work. It boots from the bootable usb and gives the live ubuntu and install ubuntu options but when you enter then it displays a blank screen and nothing happens afterwards. I am facing another issue pretty consistently that the touch screen becomes unresponsive most of the times. When i use the pen it works fine but it does not works with my fingers. Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.
Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.
If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.
I hope this links helps you.

Yesterday I was on my laptop and before I shut it down it went into what looked like a different mode. I booted it up this morning and it is still in this mode. It looks like touch screen mode but I do not have a touch screen. The icons on the task bar are spaced out and there is a back button on the task bar too which is not normally there. When i right click against the task bar, one of the buttons says "Show touch keyboard button". All of my files are spead out as if to have room for touching if I had a touch screen but I do not. Check the Touch funtionality in OKR environment.
Turn off the computer and Turn it back on and right away start tapping F2.
Select Recovery. Once in the Recovery screen Test the touchscreen by touching any of the option if it will respond.
If the touchscreen works in OKR Environment, I suggest you perform a One key recovery (expect dataloss).
If the touchscreen still did not work in OKR Environment, I suggest you call Lenovo Technical Team for assistance.

My client told me this was a touch screen, so that is what I ordered. HP 749970-001 touch screen display assembly. It is installed, but not recognized. Hello @JeffJadoo, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! The Forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community! I understand that you are having an issue with the Touch Screen, and wanted to assist you! Did the notebook originally ship with Windows 10? How did you go about formatting the notebook, and installing Windows 7? You may be able to use the Recovery Manager to restore the drivers, however, based on how you installed Windows, the Recovery Partition may already be removed. You can also try reviewing the following document, to see if the information helps: HP Notebook PCs - Touch Screen Issues (Windows 8) Please post back with the results. I have a kiosk on which I've just installed 8.1 pro. It has an oem touch screen manufactured by General touch (p/n st6001u). I've installed the driver and it seems to work but Windows still says "no pen or touch available". My customers using the
kiosk will need to type on screen in addition to just clicking. Is there any way to for the OS into touch mode? I believe under 7 there was an option in Windows features but I can't seem to find anything on 8. Google has been no help.
I'm on the Driver Download page for the S400 Touch, but I have no idea which driver is for my touch screen. There are display drivers and mouse/touchpad drivers, but neither of them say anything (at least I don't see it) about the HID touch screen. Running Windows 7 64bit. Any ideas?

So I have got a Lenovo Y50-70 with 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display for about two years now. I've accidentaly dropped my backpack, while the laptop was in it and cracked it's screen so I need to replace it. The screen in the cracked part is working as it was working before the accident, the crack is on the glass. So I was wondering if I can replace my 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display with a 15.6" 1920x1080 FHD Non-touch Display? Is it possible?I've read that whether screen you are changing, its working depends on the quantity of pins on the Video signal connector.

After updating to win8.1 from win7 there is a slight delay from when I attempt to use the touchpad to move the mouse there seems to be a slight delay. I have changed the pointer settings already regarding an inherent delay of mouse movement when the keyboard is accessed. I have restarted my PC just incase the change need a fresh start.
I have also check the drivers for any needed updates using WinKey + x and then right clicking on the options and checking for any updates. No luck. Though I could have just missed something.
It can be from a .05 delay of action to a 4 or 5 second delay of action. It acts as if the touch input was never there, not like it is a tracer of any kind, if that makes sense.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys I m having some wacky touch pad issues and I was wondering if any one knows what might be wrong I am by no means a technology expert but I do expect it to be some sort of hardware issue About a week ago regular use of my touch pad was starting to act up I couldn t scroll or make use of tapping left clicking or right clicking When on the desktop tapping or left clicking would bring up the actions panel where I clicked as if I tried right clicking but I still couldn t right click Regardless I would still be able to move the mouse icon around When I plugged in my wireless mouse I could use the touchpad somewhat normally - Touch pad issues I Touch pad issues could move it and tap left click but still couldn t scroll or right click And just Touch pad issues this morning I find out that I can t use the mouse pad - at all None of it will work I can t even move the icon around on my screen Touch pad issues I am relying entirely on my wireless mouse and the portability of my laptop is essentially gone entirely which is a high inconvenience given my reliability on it to take notes in class Would any one know what s going on Or should I have it checked out by a professional If the latter does any one have any suggestions on whom to call for support Thank you for any help you might be able to provide ETA Also I am using an Acer Aspire on Windows If you need any more information just let me know and I will provide it nbsp

Hey all, I woke up this morning and started using my computer to find that there were white spots on my computer screen that I had not previously noticed. I have had the computer for two years and haven't had any similar issues. There does not appear to be anything wrong with the pixels, as the color changes appropriately - it's just brighter. Furthermore, the bright spots on the screen heat up much more than the rest of the screen, which remains cool. I also noticed that, though this may be a separate issue, the touch screen isn't responding. Here is an image (it's much more noticeable on a white background): http://imgur.com/09sYisg Any help is much appreciated!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Lighter-Spots-on-Computer-Screen-Touch-Screen-Not-Working/td-p/5745362

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Can you please try the following:
1. Create a system restore point (for backup purposes).
2. Uninstall the Bluetooth Driver.and reboot the system.. After the reboot, the bluetooth device should now look like this in the Device Manager
3. Download and run the Bluetooth Driver installer
- this will identify the type of Bluetooth Device installed on the system (eg. Qualcom Atheros, Intel, etc.) and it will install a generic Bluetooth driver. If successful, try pairing the bluetooth keyboard and observe.
If everything goes well, try installing the official bluetooth drivers by navigating to the D:\Drivers\Bluetooth folder and check if you can connect the other bluetooth devices.
4. Run Windows Update to get the latest patch and bug fixes for Windows.
Let me know how it goes.

If im doing something like watching a video, then the entire screen does it. What should i do? I have a warranty.
I charged the battery, and once it was 100% it stopped happening. Now my touch screen is on, and i can't turn it off no matter if i use the command or change it in the settings. Im assuming this is a touch screen problem.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19994288

Hi KeatonBeutlich ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
The best guys that can decipher Result Code: WVC003002-UL7VON would be calling in technical support .
Otherwise you can simply proceed in manually installing display drivers from the device manager ( Intel then 970m) either from the support website or directly from manufacturer.
Related discussions here and here for review.
For the freezing issue , updating the BIOS can help. Check on this discussion for the steps including the readme files from the support driver site.
Disabling the caps/num lock indicator you may follow this steps from this article Similar also here or this this post.
Let's try it a step at a time .

I've had my y50-70 for about three weeks now and in the past week or so, I've had issues with the touch/mousepad. I'll be using it and suddenly it just stops. The mouse won't move and won't click, despite trying. Sometimes it takes a few minutes before the mouse finally starts working and usually continues for a while. Usually it stutters before stopping altogether. I've downloaded the updated driver, changed the mouse setting, etc and nothing has worked. Hello @Leah_anais and @sirdoom34 , Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand you're having issues using the touchpad on your ENVY notebooks. Please take the time to go through the following document for touchpad issues: Using and Troubleshooting the TouchPad or ClickPad (Windows 8). Make sure the touchpad is up to date with the following drivers: Synaptics TouchPad Driver. If neither of those work please contact HP Phone Support for service options. I don't mean to SPAM this board with the same issue that othyers have previously reported and discussed but this iPod sync issue doesn't seem to ever get solved in any of the threads that I have read I've seen this problem reported hundreds of times and almost always the symptoms are reported slightly differently I think the with Sync iPod Touch... issues reason is that the storage device that the sync software is trying to access is not actually the iPod and the error the user gets is based on what kind of device they have installed that is quot in the way quot I have this problem when I connect to an external WD My Book e-Sata and it has Sync issues with iPod Touch... an assigned drive letter D I disconnect the external drive and the iPod instantly syncs successfully I aslo have the issue since installing my USB-connected HP All-in-One and it used drive letter D for it's internal card reader In either case I can get the iPod to connect and successfully sync just by disconnecting the conflicting device If I have either one of them on then the sync process just hangs or sometimes gives me a device-related error The iTunes log file specifically says that it is attempting to access an invalid un-recognized device I tried changing the drive letter assignment of the external drive and that worked When I connected the iPod Touch it immediately brought up iTunes and synced However if I change the drive letter assignment of the printer's card reader -- the only DLA associated with the printer that I can find -- it does not solve the whole problem The printer then begins to give me a printer scanner error There is no issue between the external drive and the all-in-one printer if the Apple software is not installed It's pretty clear to me that the iPod iTunes installation will assign a device id that is already being used It's also clear that when other devices are installed after the iPod they do not detect the drive assignment already in use by the iPod I just don't know how to get that last little bit of absolute confirmation The iPod Touch by design does not show up on the drive list when connected like the older iPods did and when I look in Device Manager Sync issues with iPod Touch... it just shows it as a portable device without a DLA What I need to be able to do is to confirm the device access assignments for all of the installed devices Does anyone know how I can do that
Is there anyone here who has an iPod Touch and an All-in-One, preferrably an HP All-in-One, printer working successfully together on a desktop machine of any type and Windows OS?
I would love to hear from you if you do.
I keep plugging away. Yesterday I started with a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit build with just the HP 6500 All-in-One and the printer and all of its functions were working perfectly. I plugged in a Sony Video Cam via a 1394 connection and it found and loaded the driver and popped up the dialog to capture the video. The popup occurred just before another popup informed me that the HP 6500 had gone offline. I then turned the camera off and the printer came back on line. I removed the vid cam driver and left the camera off.
Then I plugged in the iPod, after having installed the newest 64 bit version of iTunes, and it detected the device but wouldn't complete the driver installation. I powered down the HP 6500 and the iPod installation completed.
I then turned the printer on and it appeared to work but the iPod wouldn't complete the sync process unless I turned the printer off.
Then I changed the drive letter of the HP all-in-one from "E:" to "G:" and rebooted and it appeared that everything was working. I brought the scanner up but didn't actually scan anything but, still, no disconnect messages. Finally, success I thought.
Today my daughter tried to send a fax from the computer. It started the scan, stopped after only partially scanning and said that the printer was disconnected.
She then rebooted and tried to scan a photo and it did essentailly the same thing -- a partial scan, froze, and then reported the printer offline.
I just upgraded to Display Touch/Pen 7 Windows Issues Windows Home Premium x I have two monitors a quot Dell WFP-HC which is just a standard non-touch monitor and a Wacom Cintiq UX which is a pen-enabled display I've got two issues which may be related The Wacom is pressure-sensitive but in Photoshop the pressure-sensitivity isn't registering The lightest press creates a line with the Windows 7 Touch/Pen Display Issues same thickness as the heaviest press Also every press results in the little swirling circle Tablet PC thing which wasn't the case back when I was using Vista In Windows 7 Touch/Pen Display Issues Vista I would get that only the first time I pressed the pen to the screen The problem seems specific to Photoshop as I do get pressure-sensitivity in Corel Painter I'm not sure if this is the cause of the issue but when I go into the Tablet PC Settings in the Control Panel on the Display tab under Display Options there's a drop-down menu listing both monitors When the Dell monitor is selected it says quot Pen Input Available quot and gives me a Calibrate button If I choose the Wacom it says quot No Pen or Touch input is available for this display quot and the Calibrate button is greyed out If I click the Setup button under Configure still on the Display tab both screens turn a light grey and the Dell screen shows a message saying quot Tap this screen with your tablet pen to set it as the Tablet PC screen quot with the option to hit enter to move the message to the other display I do that then tap the Wacom but it doesn't change anything I'm not sure if the two problems are related or not I've installed the most recent driver from Wacom and gone through all Windows 7 Touch/Pen Display Issues the steps for calibrating it but it doesn't seem to make a difference I don't know if the fact that Windows things the plain old Dell monitor is the Tablet PC screen is what's causing my Photoshop issues but any help would be appreciated
In case anyone is interested...
Which monitor is listed as being Pen and Touch enabled depends on which one is set as primary. Changing it didn't resolve my Photoshop problem.
However, I took a shot in the dark and disabled "Pen Flicks." That solved the Photoshop issue.
As is the default on most laptops. my touch pad freezes when I am typing on the keyboard. If I want to use both of them at the same time (for playing video games, etc), what am I supposed to do to disable the freezing feature? In the past I have turned off "palmstick" in the mouse settings, but with the 5510 I can't seem to find anything like that.
I'd suggest you update the System Setup(BIOS).
After you updated the BIOS then I suggest you update the drivers as well. Please enter your service tag number( or use Detect Product) onto the link below:
I've searched for days to find a fix for this problem but i can't seem to find one. My laptop is running window 8.1 and has the include Intel 3.0 Usb Extensible host controller for my usb ports. I have no issues connecting devices, except for my Ipod - which when connected, rapidly connects and disconnects without ever being able to be seen or selected on device manager. I'm assuming the issue is a clash between the USB controller and the Apple media device manager? I know there are no cable issues, as i could use the cable on my Wifes laptop (which is running woefully slow otherwise id use that instead). How can i fix this problem?
My computer touch pad doesn't seem to work properly since Ive had it, when i try to use it the pointer moves around erratically if at all. The strange thing is that when i connect my computer with the Ethernet cable the touch pad scrolls and works perfectly fine, Ive tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling but still have issues, has anyone seen this before? Im also have issues with the battery not charging, says this is not the recommended battery.... please helphttp://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19988663
Just installed 8.1 preview on the new Acer W3. Runs smooth but there is a huge problem with Internet Explorer 11 Touch (the modern UI version of the browser). Since the tablet is small (8"), I set the page zoom at 125% to fill the screen. Every time I open a web page zoomed to 125% (like www.cnet.com for example), the page loads with 1/4 of it pushed to the right and out of view. I can of course touch and drag the screen to center it, but that's a pain to do every time I open a new page. What's strange is when I click "refresh", the page reloads and centers correctly. The issue does not occur using the desktop version of IE11 and it did not occurs at all using IE10 (both modern version and desktop version). Here is a quick video clip that shows the problem:
I have the same issue with my EXOPC, worked fine with version 8.0.
We'll have to wait for an update....
TECRA R940: I have been having problems with my the laptop's touch pad and keyboard.
The touch pad disables and enables itself erratically (usually when typing) and several keys on the keyboard either don't work or work incorrectly (e.g. pushing the T key enables the ALT keys and a T cannot be typed and pushing the 5 key results in 05 being typed).
The catalyst for these issues seems to be related to automatic Windows Updates. I noticed these issues began after an Automatic Windows Update on 19/12/2014 entitled "Critical update".
Now, when I uninstall the most recent Windows Security Update from Microsoft, the keyboard problems are fixed (except for the hyphen key, which doesn't work for some reason).
However, the touch pad problem remains, so using a wireless mouse is now a must.
Should I unistall and reinstall a new driver for the keyboard and touch pad?
The keyboard driver cannot be updated or installed because it?s already part of the Windows system.
But from my point of few you should test the keyboard functionality using the external USB keyboard.
In case the external USB keyboard would work properly, the issue isn?t related to the system update but to the internal keyboard malfunction? this would require keyboard replacement.
The touchpad driver should be available on the Toshiba EU driver page. There you can find the Alps Electric as well as the Synaptics touchpad driver.
I'm not computer savvy and I am not entirely sure this is the proper place to ask a question for help but I've noticed and dealt with over time that my USB mouse seems to click multiple times I would tap my touchpad from time to time to get exact clicks when needed but ever since I started reorganizing files which includes clicking and dragging I've come across issues nbsp So my USB mouse and my touch Touchpad Laptop and Touch on Y70-70 mouse issues pad seem to have issues with being consistent with Touchpad and mouse issues on Y70-70 Touch Laptop clicking If I hold down the click on the touchpad it might spitter to clicking letting go then clicking again Or it might click multiple times and rarely will it not click I believe I Touchpad and mouse issues on Y70-70 Touch Laptop noticed a difference after I updated to windows and I thought the issue was just my USB mouse with perhaps dropping it on the floor and it developing an issue Could anyone please help me resolve this I believe this is the laptop I'm using nbsp Y - Touch Laptop Lenovohttps://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Touchpad-and-mouse-issues-on-Y70-70-Touch-Laptop/td-p/3437676
Hi all Not sure if this is the right forum to put this in considering it seems like both a software and hardware issue so let file touchpad PDF Multi-touch after opening issues s just see I just figured out that whenever I open a PDF file whether it be within a browser window I use the newest version of FireFox as a downloaded file or even just opening Adobe Reader on my computer the program PDF file window freezes for at least seconds to a minute or so then unfreezes and lets me continue with my work Everything goes back to normal except for the features my multi-touch Multi-touch touchpad issues after opening PDF file touch pad has such as scrolling and zooming in and out I checked for updates using Adobe Reader s Help Menu link but it said there Multi-touch touchpad issues after opening PDF file were none This issue is pretty annoying because the only thing that seems to solve it is if I restart my computer and it happens at least a few times a week if not more Any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it or prevent it Thanks Ceal Laptop - Gateway NV Series - Windows Home Premium nbsp
Update: Restarting Firefox allows me to use my multi-touch pad again, however the issue is still persisting otherwise.
I just figured out that whenever I open a PDF file, whether it be within a browser window (I use the newest version of FireFox, 4.0), as a downloaded file, or even just opening Adobe Reader 9.4.3 on my computer, the program/PDF file window freezes for at least 20 seconds to a minute or so, then unfreezes and lets me continue with my work. Everything goes back to normal, except for the features my multi-touch touch pad has, such as scrolling and zooming in and out.
I checked for updates using Adobe Reader's Help Menu link, but it said there were none. This issue is pretty annoying because the only thing that seems to solve it is if I restart my computer, and it happens at least a few times a week if not more. Any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it or prevent it?

Hi every body….any body know what is the best Touch screen software (Kiosk Development Software) please let me know ….thank you.
don't have that much expereince with these, but have a look at this site:
I'm thinking of connecting a 19 inch touch screen to my system to use Media Center and security camera's in my kitchen.
Has anyone got this setup and if so what screen are you using?
it all depends on if you want to be able to use the new "multi-touch" features, if you do you will be very limited to the screens you can buy.http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/27637-touch-screen.html
Looking into using a touch screen monitor. I use Windows 7 Home Premium and I understand that Windows Touch is available on the version.
If I would get the monitor, do I need to find drivers or are they include with Win 7?
Is anyone using a touch screen monitor now?
Looking at Windows 8, I have been playing with the Consumer Preview copy and it looks like a touch screen would be useful with Win 8 if a person would decide to upgrade to that.
Hello Jack, welcome to Sevenforums!
Touchscreen is useful, and fun. It is by no means neccessary, however. Windows has a standard driver, but for a touchscreen, you will want to look up the driver on the monitor's manufacturer's website. There are 2 different drivers - 64 and 32 bit. Make sure you get the right one according to your system.
If I were to use touchscreen, it would be because of application(s) that require it, or are easier to use because of it.
My touch screen stopped working under Windows 8. I tried every step I could find on these forums - disabling the touch screen driver, restarting, updating the driver - with one exception; under Component Tests in my HP Diagnostics UEFI, there is no Touch Screen component listed. It is there under Device Manager etc., but cannot be found in the UEFI. I updated the computer to Windows 10 and the problem remained. I restored the computer to its factory settings and the problem has remained. There is no damage to the computer, which is still quite new, and which works perfectly in every other respect. Previously, the touch screen might stop working and a restart would solve the problem, but it has not worked at all for some time now. Any suggestions?

Although I?m not using Windows 7 OS yet, what it has to offer & all that I?ve seen, it's pretty impressive. I'm in the process of deciding whether to go with the upgrade W7 or purchase a new Laptop/Notebook? One concern or complain I must state. I understand that Windows 7 comes with touch screen capabilities, but ONLY works with a human touch? Being physically disabled & cannot use my hands at all I type by using a head-pointer with an eraser for a tip. Yes, I?m not going to be dishonest here, I?m using an aftermarket touch screen with Vista, but I?m leery on how (or if) I can still use it with W7? I don?t know how, but I would just love to get in contact with a MS Developer to express my views. Am I correct in assuming that the touch screen option requires a human finger touch?
W7 isn't limited to touchscreens that only respond to finger operation but to touchscreens whose controllers identify them as HID touch devices, a relatively new category. W7, like its predecessors, recognizes HID mouse devices, which most touchscreens have been until recently. Treating a touchscreen as a mouse has never delivered the best user experience, as it precludes right-click-on-hold, calibration, edge acceleration, and many other valuable facilities. Consequently, vendor-specific drivers, which do provide these facilities, have been used. W7 accepts most of these drivers. In the WDM driver stack, these are lower-level drivers. To the OS, the device still appears to be mouse. Therefore, none of the new touchscreen-specific features of W7 will be available.
The reason that you might have heard that only finger operation is supported is that W7 recognizes as touch devices only those that identify themselves as HID-touch. Of these, only the ones that generate touch-specific events allow you to use gestures and multi-touch. The two technologies most likely to support these are capacitive, which requires finger activation, and wire-matrix digitizer, which requires an electronic pen. W7 can still use other touchscreens, including old ones, but the new capabilities will not be available.

Touchscreen isn't working properly. Can't scroll, swipe, enlarge or make smaller. It kinda goes crazy. Open/closes without me touching anything.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Touch-screen/td-p/5610638
I'm planning to buy a new laptop but will never be using the touch screen. Will I lose any functionality in Win10 by just using a mouse and keyboard with a touch-screen laptop? Do touch screen models use a different version of Win10?
BTW, I know I can buy a non-touch screen model and may do that, but we're looking for a large screen and non-touch choices are limited.
There's no problem with that, any icons or tiles are clickable with mouse, just like everywhere else. For touch screen devices there is "Tablet mode" and can be turned off to behave same as any other desktop/laptop. If device doesn't have touch screen, Tablet mode is disabled by default.
Tablet Mode - Turn On or Off in Windows 10
There's no special version of Windows for such cases except for Windows phones.
My touch screen on my HP Pavilion 23 all-in-one has stopped working. I have tried to calibrate it, but can not find the sttinghttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/Touch-Screen/td-p/5854687
I am using a Lenovo IdeaPad S510p Touch laptop (Running Windows 8, x64 bit), and have recently installed updates after not having updated it for three months.
Now I am having issues with the touch screen. It was working fine before, but now it is not responding to any of my input. The drivers seem to be all up to date, and I've installed all the available updates for my PC.
Does anyone have a solution for my problem? I don't want to have reinstall Windows or anything like that, so please don't suggest it unless I really have to.
Check if is enabled in control pane, you should have option "Pen and Touch"
R14 touchscreen works at starting and stops after some time. Still works in other windows. Problem resolves after restart and toichscreen stops after sometime.http://community.acer.com/t5/S-and-R-Series-Laptops/R14-touch-screen/td-p/463230
I have a netbook and a desktop. When Windows 8 comes out, if I install it on my desktop, would I have to get a different monitor to use the touch screen or will it work with any of the newer monitors?
If you want touchscreen capability, you will need a touchscreen. But I am sure Win8 will also work with the traditional gear.http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/1916-touch-screen.html

I have recently aquired two touchscreen machines. They are the control unit for cash registers. They are both fairly low spec:
Just like to hear some ideas on what I could do with this with focus on the touch screen.
It would be great to upgrade them and then use them as photo editing computers for cutting and painting on images.
my touch screen doesn't work anymore? how do I fix it?https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/516a39c4-ea3f-413c-a1b7-6d08d2adc68e/touch-screen?forum=w8itprogeneral

Anyone know if it is possible to use touch-screen technology on a laptop like you can on the pen tablets?? If so, can someone point me in the right direction for the software?? I am currently using a Dell Inspiron 4000 with Windows ME. Any help at all will be appreciated.
Please e-mail me with info
My Ideapad Flex 15 had a Windows 10 update a couple of weeks ago. A week to 10 days later, I discovered that my touch screen was no longer working. I've checked the Device Manager control panels and drivers and everything is up to date. I did the uninstall of the HID-Compliant Touch Screen Device & Reboot that is noted elsewhere on the Lenovo Search Results and that simply re-installed the device which still didn't work. At one point I was able to access an update log, which said that the Windows update was done, but below this showed that the update had deleted 2 Lenovo Systems Driver Packages. Should Windows remove stuff that the MFR included to run the computer?? Has anyone else had a similar issue or have a solution??Any ideas would be appreciated.ThanksJimhttps://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-100-305-500-Edge/Touch-Screen-Issue/td-p/3398708
We're buying an inexpensive Acer Aspire for the office. The new lower end machines now are preloaded with Win8 vs Win7 (unfortunately).
To upgrade the machine to a touch screen would require an additional $150.
We only use the machine for Word, Excel and Outlook--a touch screen is totally unnecessary.
Is there a way to setup a Win8 machine with a non touch screen to use with a mouse (or similar pointing mechanism) and not negatively affect one's use and performance? Also, is there a way to setup a Win8 desktop so it sort of looks like a Win7 desktop?
Classic Start Menu is what I use for gaining a start button/menu. It works quite well, google will find it for you, there are also several others available online.
The computer should function just fine with a mouse as it comes out of the box. I have an All in one unit with touch screen and I seldom use the touch. I go to the metro side now and then and use the touch but it is not something I value very much at all. I can use touch to scroll around and move the cursor but the mouse does fine as well in the desktop.
