I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I have a HP Pavilion x360 11-n010dx notebook and I would like to be able to have/ use the Miracast/WiDi feature that the Windows 10 Anniversary update is suppose to have. I have the options to use the connect app and project the screen but I can not connect any devices to either. I pretty much just want to know if my pc is able to support the feature and how I would go about adding it to my pc? Ive tried looking everywhere for help so If someone can help me Id appreciate it. Hi @SALEEN-KIDD Welcome to the HP Support Forums! In answer to your request, the drivers for that model of notebook can be found here:HP Pavilion 11-n010dx x360 PC (ENERGY STAR) - Software & Drivers I hope this helps.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-PAVILION-X360-11-N010DX-NO-TOUCH-SCREE-DRIVER-NEED-HELP/td-p/4861010
Hello Everyone! Its been 5 hours since i have started using my brand new HP Pavilion x360 u004tu, and it's touchcreen has started misbehaving. By this i mean there is an invisible line about 1.5 inches from the left margin of the screen on which suddenly a lot of touch marks appear and the screen starts taking these bizarre inputs. Then so many things open on the screen interrupting my work. I even tried to turn off and then on the touchscreen. But this problem has persisted. WHat could be the possible cause for this? is the screen defective? What should I do? Should i send back the laptop or is there any driver etc whose installation might help me in troubleshooting this issue. Thank you in advance.Foxstarhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Touchscreen-behavin-absurdly-HP-Pavilion-x360-u004tu/td-p/5732811
I was using my computer one day and Windows performed and automatic update and now my touchscreen does not work. The I2C HID Driver has an exclamation point by it, but when i try to fix the driver uninstall or disable it still does not fix the problem. I went through the troubleshooting guide and nothing works. I've also tried through HP Support and still nothing. Very disappointing to have this convertible laptop and not be able to use the main feature o purchased it for because of a technical issue. Please HELP!!!!! Also says there is not pen input for this device which has to be wrong because it is touchscreen capable.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/hp-pavilions-x360-touchscreen-not-working/td-p/5737355

Hi :3Well, touchscreen was working when i purchased it even after Windows 10 anniversary update, but few days ago it stopped working correctly. The touchscreen recognize when i tap on it, but it won't work when i try to slide my finger on it (for ex. when i scroll down a web page) it just detect it as a lot of taps. I'm gettting frustrated of this, i already contacted with HP Support Assistant (Live Chat) they did these things: -Upgraded BIOS to latest version F.19.-Updated AMD Graphics Card Drivers.-Re-installed Touchscreen driver from Device Manager. It works when i turn off the computer and then restart it.
Check Windows update history to see if there was an update installed before the touchscreen started behaving strangely.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/My-touchscreen-is-working-partially-HP-Pavilion-Notebook-15/td-p/5723268
My touchscreen is not working. I've already tried all the control panel options (went to Tablet PC Settings and tried to configure but it didn't respond, went to pen and touch, same thing), tried to update the Touchscreen Firmware drive and still didn't work. I've even refreshed my laptop but the problem remains the same. Is there any other option that I could try before perform a total System Recovery?

Product Name: Pavilion 13 x360 NotebookOperating System: Windows8 I have been using the notebook for just 2 weeks and have noticed that the keyboard becomes unresponsive randomly. Touchscreen keyboard works ok but actual keyboard stops working. None of the keys incl. function keys work. Sometimes switching apps like opening mail and typing into a new message window solves the problem but only temporarily. Rebooting allows use of keyboard but only for entering sign on password and then stops working once on home screen. Please advise. Thanks.
Hi @ritz11 Welcome to the HP Support Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More. I saw your post regarding the keyboard becoming unresponsive at time and there are a few things that we can look at. Start by doing a Hard Reset as I have seen this resolve other odd keyboard issues. If that doesn't work look at uninstalling the keyboard driver. Go to your Device Manager and expand Keyboards and then right click the keyboard there and select Uninstall. Then restart the notebook and Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/hp-pavilion-13-x360-keyboard-stops-working-intermittently/td-p/4554122
My laptop's touch screen doesn't work after updating my drivers to date. I opened the Tablet PC Setting, it says 'There is no pen or touch input available for this display' . (I used Shorcut to open the setting because the Tablet PC Setting disappeared in the control panel along with the functionality of the touchscreen). I tried doing a recovery but it wasn't successful to bring the touch back. Plus the HID-Compliant touchscreen driver is missing. Please help me to fix this, thanks.

HiI bought this for my daughter this Christmas and after registering using the keyboard it suddenly stopped working and I could only use the touch screen keyboard. Then for no reason at all the pc display went in to tablet mode and won't come out of it.I have tried a total reset and everything I described above happens again. I have downloaded all the drivers etc again and rebooted and the outcome is still the same. Have wondered if throwing it against a wall would help, but realised that would only help me and not the laptop.Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you resolve it?Thanks

I realize after researching the error that my only solution is to replace my hard drive but I need some advice on what exactly I need in regards to a new hard drive. Not very tech-saavy. Please advise.Failure id 9fnhbr-7b783q-xd7v6k-61ed03.Thank you for any help.
Here is the Service Manual: Manual Hard drive replacement is shown on page 36 of the Manual. Your laptop, by the specs, came with a 500 gig 5400 rpm drive. This model only uses the superslim 7mm hard drives so that is what you need to buy. There are also options for an M.2 solid state drive or a regular-sized SATA solid state drive in lieu of the slower 5400 rpm mechanical drive. In other words, this would be your opportunity to speed it up a bit. This would be a 7200 rpm mechanical drive of 500 gigs and would be a nice replacement at a low cost: http://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Laptop-7200RPM-Cache-ST500LM021/dp/B00ISKS416/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1462017567&sr=8-2&keywords=7mm+laptop+hard+drive Solid state drive which would replace the hard drive: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E250B-AM/dp/B00OAJ412U/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1462017682&sr=1-1&keywords=Samsung+850+Evo If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Hard-disk-error-long-dst-failure-pavilion-11-n010dx/td-p/5603063

I have three questions regarding my HP Envy which I recieved in September, 2016. 1) how do I find the serial number? 2) how do I correct this system error? AccelerometerStexe - System Error. MFC120U.dll is missing. 3) I have an Espon Perfection V300 Photo Scanner, it works perfectly with Windows 7 on my work laptop. I cannot get the scanner with Windows 10 to work. I am connecting the scanner via a USB. The laptop recognizes the scanner and adds it as a device. However, it does not install any drivers to make the connetion between the scanner and the laptop. I have tried multiple times to download the drivers from Epson.com and still does not work. The system is totally up to date and I know the USB works. This is driving me crazy as I need this scanner to work with this laptop.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/HP-Envy-x360-15t-Touchscreen-2-in-1-laptop/td-p/5809085

Hello, I just bought a Targus stylus (http://targus.com/us/stylus-for-tablets-and-smartphones-black-amm01tbus) to use with my HP Spectre x360. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well with the touchscreen; I have to press it so hard that the screen wobbles back and forth. I find this strange because it is very sensitive when I use my finger; a light touch is enough. Is there a setting where I can remedy this? I tried Calibrate, but it seemed to only calibrate for location, not sensitivity. Or, would anyone recommend a specific stylus other than the HP Active Stylus? I just want a simple, non-battery-operated stylus to use to draw and take notes without smudging my screen with fingerprints. Hey guys please help I'm sort of panicking nbsp The touchscreen and pen worked perfect after initial setup However I was experiencing pen pressure problems and decided to download a different HP 13-4003dx Drivers x360 Spectre Touchscreen/Pen Lost for driver from here http support hp com us-en drivers selfservice HP-Spectre- -x -Convertible-PC-Series mod The driver I downloaded was the nbsp HP Active Pen Control Software Rev A nbsp which I failed to notice hasn't been updated since Dec nbsp Upon installing and restarting my touch screen and pen input no longer work at all I am pretty sure this is not a hardware issue seeing as the hardware worked perfect until I installed this nbsp I tried loading a restore point and Lost Touchscreen/Pen Drivers for HP Spectre x360 13-4003dx then factory resetting which was probably the worst thing I could do nbsp Before I did the factory reset the Pen and Touch devices were hidden but listed in the Device Manager under HID human interface devices Now they are not there even if I show hidden devices Instead there is only an Unknown Device listed under Other Devices nbsp When I view its properties it says Currently this hardware device is not connected to the computer Code To fix this problem reconnect this hardware device to the computer ACPI VEN HPQ amp DEV is the Hardware ID which I believe to be the touch screen since it wasnt there until I factory reset nbsp I tried the component test and there was no touch screen test option There are also no more pen touch options listed in the Control Panel even though there were before nbsp It seems that this driver effectively prevents my computer from detecting the touch screen nbsp Please help me I like this device and I do not want to return it I just want to know how to get my drivers working againhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Lost-Touchscreen-Pen-Drivers-for-HP-Spectre-x360-13-4003dx/td-p/5763499
hello, my computer had a Windows update today, and now the touchscreen (which was fully functional before the update) is not working. it is not the screen, as this happened once before to me and I did a system restore to fix it. I tried a system restor this time, didn't work. I looked in the Device Manager, and there IS NO DRIVER for my touchscreen. how do I reinstall, it is NOT listed in the driver list on the HP website for my product. help! Screen brightness defaults to very dim. There doesn't seem to be a brightness key to adjust. To rectify, I have to go through a settings/display calibration then restart to recover brightness on screen. An annoying process. I recently received the HP Pavilion x x360 Pavilion laptop as a gift By the second use it was evident that something was wrong with the touchscreen It will occasionally go berserk and self-activate in which a poltergeist is seemingly tapping my screen incessantly and opening programs windows and files The touch screen animation of little taps across the screen clicks up and down the left side of my entire screen causing the most disturbance when it clicks within the Windows start menu where it clicks open programs etc While this is happening I cannot even control the mousepad as the cursor is incessantly being dragged back to where the touchscreen is being activated In the end I always have to force shut-down and generally I can reuse it for a while maybe like four hours or so before I have to go through the whole cycle again nbsp I have not noticed a pattern yet regarding when it occurs Sometimes it's write when I start the laptop sometimes it's after I've been using it for an hour or so nbsp Tactics I have tried Uninstalling and reinstalling touchscreen driverChecking for updatesRe-Calibrating the touchscreen nbsp Eventually just going into Device Manager and disabling the touchscreen altogether nbsp Here's a video of my HP Touchscreen ghost in action https drive google Pavilion x360 com file d B R-obFJQJotNG YzZkcFpKRjQ view usp sharinghttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Pavilion-x360/td-p/5715748
TPM support in the BIOS avaialble? How to access the Bios?
Hi EmilLuca, Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion x360 and you needing to gain access to the BIOS. I do not recommend messing with the BIOS it could brick your system. If upon startup you click F10 and this should get you to the BIOS. Hope this is helpful. Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-x360/td-p/3678094
Hi guys I bought HP Paviion x from Future Shop a month ago At that time I didn't get for Pen 130 x360 Pavilion HP any pen or pen drive software Pen for HP Pavilion 130 x360 So I'm just wondering if it's their mistake or I should buy one If possible I'd like to use one of these pens Lapazz tablet pen stylus pen and a pen for HP tc tablet pc Also I want to use pen pressure for photoshop If I have to buy the pen What pen will fit for my laptop What pen drive do I need to install Do I have to buy both of them can I download a free software from HP website I really need the pen pressure system If I don't need to buy Can I get a digital pen from Futureshop Best Buy I don't know much about Tablet PC and It was first time to buy a laptop by myself Unless Does one of pens on top work on my Pen for HP Pavilion 130 x360 laptop and to use pen pressure I tried to touch the screen with them Only stylus worked Can I use Lapazz tablet pen as a digital pen a stylus
Unless I'm missing something, this is a touch screen which you use your finger to navigate rather than a mouse. If you are more comfortable using a mouse you can use a usb type with the laptop. I personally don't know anyone who uses a stylus on a laptop touch screen.
Just out of curiosity, where did you read that you needed to use a "pressure pen"?
Hi! What models have the same touchscreen as 11-n001tu? I cannot find a third party vendor selling a screen for 11-n001tu and there are no spareparts per HP Technical Support team. Thanks!

Hi. I have only had this computer for a week. The computer did a reconfiguration and after taking over an hour to restart, I restarted it manually and I get the message below: Checking media presenceMedia present...Start PXE over IPv6 Error: no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed I have turned my computer off/on several times and I still get this message. Can someone please help! I am extremely aggitated with this and about to bring it back and get my money back!
SherialT Welcome. Sounds like you have a very frustrating problem. Seems like the computer is trying to boot from an outside source. First thing you should try is to shutdown your computer.Press and hold the "Windows" key and the "B" key, and then press and hold the Power button. After 1-3 seconds, release the buttons. Your computer should beep several times and then start a BIOS Update. Let your computer go through the process of updating (just a few minutes) and your computer should start up. If this doesn't solve your problem, come on back. I have a couple more ideas if this doesn't work. Jendyruth

Hi there @rplp, May the Forums be with you! I understand that your computer is not starting properly, and although this post was moved, presumably you also have been getting a "No boot disk" type of message. The operating system is windows 8.1, I'm unsure of the bit size. The first thing that happened was the screen kept going black, I sent it off and it got fix, was never told what was wrong with it. A few months later it started to freeze up after being on it for a few minutes, I can shut it down and restart it and it does the same thing.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-Pavilion-x360-keeps-freezing/td-p/5614204

I also wanted to know if the memory ram is upgradable from 6 to 8 GB ? Thanks !!

Can the HP pavilion x360 13-s120 use an SSD for Windows 10? I have cloned my hard drive to SSD and when I install it says please install an operating system. I have also tried a fresh install of Windows to the SSD and it (and I) cannot find the required drivers. Is there a new BIOS that needs to be installed? Or is this scenario impossible? Hi all, I've recently (October 2016) bought a Pavilion x360 (model 13-0004nl); the internal 5400rpm 1TB disk is extremely slow so would like to upgrade to a SSD disk.I'm not able to find info on this machine and if it can be upgraded to a SSD disk or not, someone have info? Some link to the documentation would be appreciated, thank you in advance.
Hi, It uses a 2.5" thin HDD, you can upgrade to SSD BUT you need to ask an HP authorized service provider. Please read a manual called Maintenance and Service Guide on a following link (similar/older machine): http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-13-x360-Convertible-PC-series/6936239/model/7200476/... Originally, my laptop runs Windows 8 SL. My touchscreen experience satisfies me a lot when I'm using the device far from my table. After upgrading to windows 8.1 SL, I encountered touchscreen difficulties. There are times that I can use the touchscreen interface of my device smoothly but there are also times that I can't interact with my laptop using it's touchscreen. I've tried several troubleshooting like disabling and reenabling the HID-compliant touchscreen driver and also the display adapters of Intel and NVIDIA. I can't interact with my laptop using touchscreen until now. Can you guys help me to get rid of this? thanks in advance.
I have the same issues, i also tried everything that i can find for the solution that were on the forums but nothin works, I think this a sotware issue, windows 8.1 has drivers conflict to Hp touchsmart users. And HP must coordinate with windows in regards to this matter. I hope they give us feed back on this matter.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-Pavilion-TouchSmart-14-b132tx-Sleekbook-touchscreen-didn/td-p/3147555

Hello everyone.I just bought a Pavilion x360 13-u062na, that comes with a 128gb SSD. I'd want to upgrade to a larger ssd. Reading tech specs, this notebook supports m.2 sdd drive. My question is: do I have to buy a "slim" ssd like this Crucial-MX300-SSD-525-SATA or can I buy a regular 2.5" ssd like this Crucial-MX300-Interno-SATA-525gb? Crucial brand is not essential, I just linked these sdd for example. If both type are compatible, which do you suggest? Which brand has best value for money?Thank everyobdy and sorry for my english.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavilion-x360-13-u062na-SSD-upgrade/td-p/5853991

I have read many different reviews and experiences about the compatibility of this pen for HP convertible notebooks and have only come up with mixed opinions, none of which relate to my model. Hi, The auto rotation setting stopped working some time ago and I'm having troubles trying to restore it.Also the keyboard and mouse pad are not automatically locking when the laptop is in tablet mode. I've had an HP Pavilion x360 for two months now. The other day I tried to connect it to a public wifi network and it wouldn't connect. Hello. I recently bought Pavilion x360 11, and on pretty much every review site etc. there was written that the full charge should last for approx. 6 hs of browsing internet. I tested it twice just browsing internet, and not even that much because at the same time i was playing on my PC. Both tests ended up in laptop hibernating after 4-4.5hs. I must say that is rather low battery lifetime, specially for me as I bought it for outside use mostly. Can it be defective battery or maybe upgrade to win 10 would work it out for me ? (asking about win 10 because I've read couple general opinions about how it extended their battery lifetime from i.e. 6.5h to 9h ) Any help would be very appreciated, as I have to make a decision if i want to replace the laptop at store or not. Thanks in advance.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/pavilion-x360-low-battery-life/td-p/5833199

Hi experts, just a question: is it possible to upgrade the HP Pavilion x360 11-U002NG to 8 GB RAM?The processor is an INTEL N3710 and should do the work: http://ark.intel.com/products/91830/Intel-Pentium-Processor-N3710-2M-Cache-up-to-2_56-GHz Another question is, is it possible to upgrade the SATA Hard drive to a SSD drive? I cannot find information about that in the data sheets of this notebook. Thanks in advance, dschajloohhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-x360-11-U002NG-HDD-and-RAM-Upgrade/td-p/5708055
I just bought this new laptop about 2 months ago.so yesterday after shutting it down with the power cable attached,i tried to turn it on again but with no success.the power button lighted up when i pushed it but after few seconds the light went off.the fans, the screen and everything didnt seems to work too.i thought maybe the battery were running low so i left it charging until its full.later when i turn it on again its still the same.pls help me.
First I would like to ask does the light show up right beside where you charge it(orange when charging white when done charging)? So if we can see if its just a simple problem with your cable, and if it doesnt show a light tell me if the charger works on other laptops.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Hp-pavilion-x360-wont-turn-on/td-p/4261160

I bought my Pavilion x360 from Germany and primarily I use the English language. I managed to change the operating system(Windows) to English, however I am at a loss when it comes to settings because the language is still German, all help related to the laptop is still German! Can anyone help me change this? I dont think its a problem with Microsoft, but with HP laptop language!
I think you will find the link below helpful.Link: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3813-language-add-remove-change-windows-10-a.htmlhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/I-need-to-change-language-on-my-HP-Pavilion-x360/td-p/5731647
whether it is impossible to know what ozhet be a problem in this laptop, it does not want to run, pressing the button activate the fan is started and periodically (every 15 seconds) is stopped and re-started, the screen is black, potential damage to the BIOS, but flash dump the BIOS of this model, I do not found, you can tell where you can find a dump of the BIOS on this model?
I bought this laptop, new, yesterday. It charged all night. The specs say it has a battery life of 11.75 hours. That is the sole reason I decided to go with this laptop over one with better RAM. I just turned it on 30 minutes ago and it is 100% charged yet it only has a battery life of 5hr, 26 min. After 30 minutes of light use, it is 85% charged with 4hr, 3min left. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue short of returning the computer?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-issue-with-a-new-HP-Pavilion-x360/td-p/5804411
Hi , i have a Hp Pavilion 13.3 " x360 13-s060sa and i want to upgrade the hard drive for an SSD , does anyone know the compatible SSD makes for this notebook. No websites seem to recognise it or have my model on their compatibility list . It must be upgradable since the one up model has an SSD and also other model numbers of the same laptop are supported. Any help and info would be really good, Thank You
This laptop has a standard 2.5" drive so any 2.5" SSD will work.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Hp-Pavilion-x360-13-s060sa-compatible-SSD/td-p/5596089
I am having the opposite problem then many others. My rotation lock button is greyed out, but rotation is on and i want it off i have tried changing autorotation, enable but it doesn't work. I really hate the screen turning when i lie down on my side. i want to see it normally plz help.
Hi @SwaggerPony, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion x360 Convertible and the auto rotate not working correctly. I would make sure all updates have been done on the Notebook first. Restart the Notebook. Here is a link to show you how to configure and disable the screen rotation feature. In the Device Manager, click the arrow next to Display Adapters. Right-click on Graphics and select Uninstall Driver Software if more than 1 Graphics adapter do 1 at a time. Then restart the Notebook. The Notebook should find and automatically install the updated driver. Please get back to me how this goes. Please click the Thumbs up below to thank me for my efforts! My HP Pavilion x360 will only charge when the lid is closed or the computer is in sleep mode. I have tried changing any relevant power settings and have already consulted multiple friends. I'm wondering if there's a hidden setting I have yet to discover The HP assistant check said the battery is OK. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 some time ago not sure if there is a link to the problem I saw a thread for the fix for the Windows 8.1 but sure if that will work for Windows 10 tried a few of the videos on you tube about uninstalling drivers but they did not help. any clues please

My HP Pavilion x360 2 in 1 (brought in February this year) is plugged in but not charging. I can't remove the battery without opening the back panel which I don't want to do. It's plugged directly into the wall socket with the cable provided with the notebook when it was purchased. Please advise on how to fix the problem. Many thanks

When I try to turn my laptop on, the power button lights up, the fans run for a second, and then ceases. The power light stays on, and a light on the capslock key turns on and off repeatadly. The screen does not turn on at all. I would normally try a hard reset, but it does not have a removable battery. I have tried holding the power button for 15 seconds, but that doesn't do anything different. My laptop isn't included in this list, http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768 so I am not sure how else to do a hard reset. Help please! Many thanks
I have had no luck finding a hard reset guide for your model. If you are still in warranty I would give HP Support a call.If you live in the US/CA, contact HP info Here. I also have a newish pavilion x360. It worked fine for two months but now we have the white light no screen caps lock light blinking problem. From other posts this is quite common. I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed at the factory yet.I need to buy five more notebooks for a small business. The x360 seemed perfect but am now reconsidering. Is there anywhere you can get robustness information for notebooks and laptops?
Hi there @nickyrbainbridg,Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you are experiencing a blank display and a flashing caps lock LED. I am happy to help you with this. The flashing LED is a way the system can inform you of an issue preventing the computer from starting properly. The number of flashes in the pattern tell you which part it is that is causing the condition, and depending on what it is gives you an idea of what needs to be done. In actuality the problem is not as common as you believe, although it does happen. It is the cause that is relevant. Sometimes it is just something that has worked loose inside the system. This could be due to handling, or an accident, it is hard to say. In answer to your question about robustness, it is possible to research that. The types of tests that any device is subjected to depend on the product and normal working conditions it is intended for. When dealing with any electrical device common sense tells us of hazards or things to avoid. In reality, some users still use hardware in ways it was not intended for. The types of specifications you will find are things like operating temperature ranges, battery life and handling, etc. Anyway, back to the flashing LEDs, please check through this page. It will guide you to the error codes so you can identify the issue. HP Notebook PCs - Computer does not start and the LEDs blink or the computer beeps After that please post what you find, and I will happy to help you with it, or if you prefer, you can always call our technical support at 800-474-6836. Hi there, I recently purchased a HP Pavilion x360 13-u013na and I would like to purchase a stylus to use with apps such as Wacom Bamboo Paper. I've tried a few styluses like the surface pen that didnt work and was very unresponsive. My laptop is: HP Pavilion x360 (Model: 13-s060-sa) if anyone knows of or has found a stylus that works with this model i would be very grateful to know what it is. I was looking at the HP Active Pen but this model wasnt in the compatibility list. I recently just purchased a HP Pavilion x360 11-k101na and on the first day of using it, it restarted by itself twice due to some sort of problem, and it froze once and I couldn't get it to work. I had to hold down to power button to shut it down which I hate doing and upon turning it back on, it just wouldn't. This is only the first day of usage and I'm afriad something is wrong with it. Just wondering if anyone else had these problems or how they can be fixed, or what's even causing them?
If it is brand new and doing this I would call HP Warranty or better yet take it back to where you bought it if you have that option. It is rare, but not impossible to get a laptop with a bad hard drive right out of the box. This will just continue to cause troubles for you.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavilion-x360-restarting-by-itself-and-freezing/td-p/5601281

Hello! So i've been trying to find a solution to my x360 laptop. Yesterday, while i was typing in microsoft word for some school projects, it suddenly shuts down. I thought it ran out of battery but i perfectly remember it was fully charged! But i did try plugging the AC charger anyway but to no avail, nada... no lights or anything went on. If someone knows a solution, hopefully you can reply. HP Pavilion x360 m1 Convertible keyboard becomes disabled with screen "flexed" around 360 degrees. A larger monitor is plugged into HDMI port and it works fine. Keyboard works with screen in normal approximately 100 degree postions all the way to flat (180 degrees). But if screen is "flexed" past flat then keyboard becomes disabled. Mouse does work when screen "flexed" or folded. The unit is new with no software additions. The reason for wanting to fold the screen all the way under is that the space available to rest the laptop on is too narrow to accomodate the full size of the unit with the screen folded out to 180 instead of able to be folded underneath the main body/keyboard. How to enable keyboard to work with screen folded all the way around 360 degrees?
