I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
a simple question......will a HP Pavilion 15-n034sa motherboard fit into a HP Pavilion 15-n083sa ?
help me obi-wan youre my only hope!!
Actually that's a hard question, generally its not possible to install another motherboard, sometimes it is. In this case one is an AMD platform and the other is an Intel platform, there could be tons of differences in mounting holes, physical design, clearance, connectors, heat dissipation requirements, cooling systems, etc. Laptops are not like desktops that use more standardized designs.

Hello. The motherboard in my DV7 has gone the way of the dodo. HP Parts does not have it available for order, and the "recommended" resellers ... aren't. I've scoured the 'Net, and actually found and ordered one, but the next day received word that the vendor could not, in fact, get the board. A couple phone calls to other potential vendors netted the same result. It seems the motherboard is hard to come by. Anyone have any ideas or recommendations? Several on eBay, all coming from China or Sri Lanka. I have had fairly good luck with motherboards purchased this way and if you pay with paypal you have pretty good protection. Can anyone help me find the detailed specs on this computer (HP Pavilion a111on? I really just need to know what kind of a motherboard I have, I can't tell if it's an ATX or micro-ATX motherboard. Anyone know what the difference in measurements are?
MicroATX is 244 x 244 mm.
Download and run Everest from www.majorgeeks.com and it will tell you more about the motherboard - then you can google for more details.

I asked you guys about a diagnosis of a bad motherboard in an HP pavilion. We were all pretty much in agreement about the bad board. Well, I bought a new one and now comes the task of replacing it. Is it difficult? (I am e-literate) How much should I pay to have it done? Any help would be FAB!
Please my motherboard is a Core i7 motherboard but fried.I want to get a replacement but there's no identification number. So I need help with the identification number(eg. xxxxxx-001 / xxxxxx-501) and I would also appreciate if I am told how much it would cost to replace it

I put the motherboard in a new case. I am trying to connect the front panel buttons. I can't get the reset switch to work. I can't find a layout diagram of this motherboard either.
Do you still have the case the motherboard came out of? If so trace the front panel connectors back to the source and go from there.
My hP Pavilion is dead. I bought it used. Was working well, except for no sound from the on-board speakers. I opened it up and found that someone unplugged the speaker assy. I plugged it in, and the laptop would not power up. The LED light indicating power applied from the adapter wouldn't even come on. I opened the case and unplugged the speakers. Ohmed out the speakers, and found the left one a dead short. The computer will still not work. Dead as coffin nails. Evidently there is a protection circuit that won't reset. Or the main board is toast. Where can I purchase a new or used system board? (none on ebay). I have one HP computer left with the proprietary garbage from HP inside. The motherboard has the "HPANEL" plug, which incorporates all of the front panel control switches and lights in one single-sided plug, meaning that the traditional Power, Reset SW, HDD LED, plugs are non-existent. I am trying to install a new motherboard, but cannot, because of the HPANEL plug configuration in the machine itself. Anyone ever conquer this task before? Advice, other than scrap the HP heap? I want to upgrade my motherboard on this laptop for gaming purposes. I read somewhere that I can upgrade from AMD A6-4400M to an A10, but would only be possible if I had two sockets (i.e., FM1 or FM2). I do not know how many sockets I have or the type. Is this true? I have a hp pivilion 9795 that a friend of mine found in someone's trash and I need to find the motherboard diagrams. I know it works because I booted it up after putting in a new hardrive. I had to change cases so I forgot some of the hookups. Can someone help me find the diagrams.
I went to HP and managed to track down the system to this link.
It says that the MB is from Asus.
I'd try going to this site and seeing if you can narrow down which model it is. Mobo ID Tools
Then you can go to the Asus website and get the diagrams you're looking for.
Hello,Recently I had posted a message regarding an HP Pavilion DV6-3210us not booting but just blinking the caps lock. I've just replaced the motherboard & exact processor & when I turned the unit on, the fan sped up very quickly as Windows attempted to boot but within 20 secs, it shut down. When I attempted to restart it, I received a message saying that the unit was overheating & was shut down but it safe now. Once again, the fan sped up quickly & the unit shut down before Windows could come up. I've contacted the MB seller & they said they believed it was a bad motherboard & will ship another one out. Is there an issue with these computers doing this?Any comments would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!
If they have a bad motherboard yes. I think your seller knew he sent you a bad one and is willing to replace.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Replacement-HP-Pavilion-DV6-3210us-Motherboard-Overheating/td-p/5599577

Motherboard and processor failed on Pavilion p6-2133w with AMD A6 3620, AMD Radeon HD 6530D, Windows 10 Pro.I paid Staples Easytech Replaced to replace motherboard and processor with AMD A6 3650.The system is now identified as HP Pavilion p7-1154 Desktop PC -- I did not expect or know the product name would change.I installed AMD Catalyst Driver https://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/latest-catalyst-windows-beta.aspx which recognizes the Acer S201HL display but I still can't increase resolution beyond 640x480.Two questions.First, this may be a dumb question, but is the change from p6-2133w to a p7-1154 an issue?Second, one idea is that the BIOS should be "reset" -- which I thinks is the same as "flash?" -- so that it will recognize the hardware but I can't figure out how to do the reset.Any ideas appreciated.
Greetings, 1. Only if you are in warranty. 2. You can enter 'SETUP" , set BIOS to defaults, and "save and exit". Staples replaced the p6-2133w MB with a similar board used by HP in a different product number. You should get HD screen resolution. This integrated graphics board may be HP OEM. Remove the AMD graphics driver. Let Win 10 install the driver and see if that helps. Install a discrete graphics card if the AMD GPU is not compatible with Win 10. My HP Pavilion 500-205t was destroyed by a lightning strike. The HD is o.k. I have purchased an HP Pavilion 500-490 because the specs were very close. I want to use my 205t HD. Both computers are Core i3-4130, have 1 TB 7200 SATA 6G 3.5 HDs, same OS (Windows 7 Pro 64). My question is: can I swap them out, or do I need to get an external HD enclosure and copy the 205t to the 490? If I need the external HD enclosure, looks like aluminum would be best, but would like recommendation for one which would hold my HD.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Can-I-install-my-HP-Pavilion-500-205t-HD-in-HP-Pavilion-500/td-p/5660060

I've been looking for the front panel pin layout on the Dell Dual Xeon Motherboard with Dell P/N: 0WN7Y6 (it is a # zero, W, N, #7, Y, #6).
The front panel connector is 27-pin...28 spots with one pin left blank. The pin layout isn't included in the manual and I'm trying to boot two of these motherboards without the 27-pin connector. I just need to know which pins need to be jumpered in order to test for boot to BIOS.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Dell doesn't make the front panel connector pin-outs public. So unless you map them yourself or somebody else has done it...http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19996055
Hi (a post after a long time)
I've a F90M motherboard (with intel 915G chipset - i gues chipset doesn't have to do anything with front panel connections, but ... ). It came out of Acer 3700GX PC (i think its a bit old ).
Ok, now i'm trying to put it in a standard larger ATX casing. I've fitted it in and everything works fine except the front panel connections. I cannot identify the front panel connections and could only manage to identify the power switch pins on the motherboard.
I've searched over internet and couldn't find a manual of the motherboard (found manual for the PC on www.nodevice.com but it doesn't tell how to connect front panel)
so can you guys please suggest me the connections for front panel LEDs, Audio and USB.
and i really believe that you TSG guys are up to it
Thanks in advance
is it such a hard/stupid question??

I could use some creative customer service here. My M3800 shipped with the known power-on motherboard defect. It was replaced at no charge, which was very nice. However, the replacement (2nd motherboard!) is now having the same intermittent dead / no power problem.
To get the computer running, I have to remove the case (12 screws) and un-plug the internal battery to 're-set' the electrical fault. After I put it back together, the computer starts normally. This is not very convenient, especially when meeting with new clients.
The problem is that I am being told I am outside the 3-month repair warranty. I think this stinks! It's a known issue and I would like someone at Dell to step up make my expensive computer work normally all of he time.
Yes, I have run every diagnostic known to man and the internet.
Okay, so as the topic title implies, for the life of me, I cannot figure out which motherboard model I'm supposed to get for this Dell Inspiron 1300 here. Only info I have is that it has the Centrino sticker on the palm rest of the case, and I also have the service tag, but that doesn't seem to give me much information from what I've found.
I've taken the motherboard out of the thing and looked it over, but no luck, as I don't see the model number on it.
Will someone please tell me how I'm supposed to figure out the motherboard model number so I can get a new one?
You can search by the service tag number
hey guys, does anyone if there are any other drivers for this board? i'm looking at this page after selecting 'driver' and 'win7 64 bit'. http://gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3166&dl=1#dl i only see 'audio', 'chipset' 'LAN' and 'RAID'. on the other boards i've seen, the driver software was much more comprehensive and contained several different pieces of software.
what's the main driver i need to install after installing win7 for the motherboard? just wondering if i'm missing something and need to install something else for the 'main features'? or are there main features found in the BIOS before win7 boots up? how does win7 recognise the board btw? does the board have drivers built in already? how can winxp recognise mboards that have been made very recently?
Those are all the drivers you need, and really all any motherboard needs to work. You also have some Utilities under the drop down menu of "Download Type" but these are optional tweaking and similar utilities not required for proper operation of the system. Any version of Windows will have limited driver support, enough to install and run until the correct drivers are installed, or for a SATA or RAID controller under Windows XP drivers are loaded via the F6 prompt during the initial stages of the XP install to allow it to detect the hard drive. There are no drivers built into the hardware itself.

I'm trying to be a bit cost effective for college by replacing parts of an old computer in order to get it to run CAD (specifically making it possible to run Solidworks 2016) better, but I am new to modifying computers. I currently have a Dell 15r 5520 with no modifications. I have found a 15R 7520 motherboard on eBay to replace it but it says with no video. Does this mean I would have to buy a separate graphics card? If so, any recommendations? Would I be correct in assuming that it comes with the i7 processor? Also any input on upgrading to a SSD?http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19985609
I just started running Replacing Solved: motherboard with motherboard? identical a Solved: Replacing motherboard with identical motherboard? home business for PC Repair and Tutoring My first customer has a malfunctioning motherboard I believe She has an old Gateway with Win ME I believe that it is the mother board because nothing works on bootup during the gateway splash screen It says that it has detected the keyboard and mouse but also to consult the user manual if a further problem exists The keyboard and mouse won t work with it anyway It goes on to say that there is no hard drive detected and there is no CD-ROM drive detected I am left with a blank black screen with a flashing cursor at the top left hand corner The whole time that it is booting there is a continuous ticking noise I thought that it might be the hard drive for that but it is fine I suspect a bad capasitor My question is this If I find an identical motherboard will a swap go seemlessly or not I am also inviting any other advice on this The only drive that does work is the A drive but when I put a disk in it I get a message saying to take it out and strike any key Well you can t strike any key if the keyboard doesn t work Plus I can t find the any key Just kidding I m not that dumb I knew it was going to be an adventure getting into this business but didn t know how hard it would be to troubleshoot something that was originally a simple issue When I first looked at her PC the Goback utility wouldn t let her onto her desktop because that clock was set for a time that hadn t yet come to pass The ticking noise was present at that time and her original usb keyboard and mouse wouldn t work with the computer either I opened the computer just to see what she had inside it and I changed out the clock battery thinking that this may have had something to do with it I closed it again and the next thing I knew it wouldn t even boot far enough to get to the GoBack screen that was poping up just before the windows startup I doubt that changing out the clock battery would have caused the motherboard to crash That is why I m hear I guess Anyone want to take a stab at it Many Thanks nbsp

I would start by checking your power supply with a good tester tool and multimeter.
I am installing Motherboard Monitor. Wizard wants to know what motherboard I have. Don't know where to find it. Related question, MBM list of supported models does not list mine (Dell Inspiron 6000), however, last MBM update was late 2004, (before i6000) and i 5100 is on the list, so I am assuming i6000 is supported. Where do I find motherboard ID? Thanks for prompt response --> wizard is waiting.

I need to know if the HDMI motherboard in a 60" Samsung Plasma TV can be used in a Sony Bravia 52" TV. The motherboard in my Sony died and I have access to one in a Samsung Plasma that's screen cracked.
No, it would not be, in the past I had to repair a tv for a friend that had his board shorted that was an LCD Sony Bravia 52 Inch and its board was very specific as with all Sony Products. The Boards on the TV's are the hearts and the companies that built them don't allow for parts to be interchanged easily. Your best bet is ebay and finding the part number to find a board, that's how I got the one I used to fix it.
Hey to all the people seeing this! First of all thanks for viewing this thread ^^
Right, You may have seen my posts about a faulty motherboard not giving video, If not then it doesn't matter to much because this is the story:
I needed to replace a motherboard as the old one was bad.
The New motherboard came, Still no Video, Dead motherboard
Sending the faulty one back for a refund
NOW heres the dilemma:
I can't find the motherboard again so I'm going to replace it with another ones (make/model not yet decided) But how do I go about installing the drivers for the new one? I've searched Google yet the only thing I could find is being able to boot up the computer to un=install the old ones? Is there anyway to do this without booting it up prior to installing the new MOBO? Many thanks, Mark ^^
I have read the forum on sysprep, however I see that there are some procedures which must be completed before the old HHD is removed and input into the new motherboard.
Problem is.....My old motherboard crashed and I cannot implement sysprep on the old system, how would I get along doing this if the hdd is not botting up on my new motherboard?
For what it is worth, Windows 7 seems to be pretty tolerant of new motherboards. Quite a few people have reported here that they swapped boards, reconnected the old hard drive, and booted OK. Without using Sysprep.http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/210374-motherboard-died-need-new-hdd-new-motherboard.html
I'm having to get a replacement motherboard as i have a fault on this one. It will be a like for like replacement (exactly the same) Will i have to reinstall Windows 8.1, or can i just plop it in and it will boot/load the drivers that are needed?
I wanted to ask, as people often changed it for a different motherboard (chipset/make)
Any help would be great!
There's usually no need to reinstall Win8 even with different MBs.http://www.eightforums.com/general-support/43813-replacing-motherboard-same-motherboard-win-8-1-a.html
i just finished my build and i have no idea why i went for a motherboard with 2 slots for ram it can hold up to 16gb but luckly ebuyer sent me out an extra 4gb of kingston hyperx ram so i have 8gb all together but theres a problem theres 4 sticks !
obviously i wouldnt want to send it back so what do ya think either upgrade my motherboard and smash the extra 4 gb in there or keep to my original one i dont have money to blow atall im really struggling if its something that will really make a difference ill go with it if not then ill just keep to my original and when i come to buy a graphics card i will get a 2gb graphics card to help with gaming all i really do is gaming i dont really do anything else
thankyou for your time
I'd go with 4 gigs until you had a major reason to believe it wasn't enough. If that ever happens, consider your next move. Most people do just fine with 4 gigs.
I considered 8 gigs on my 4 slot board but decided against it and don't regret it.
Hi today I opened my computer and it wouldn't go past hp logo. Called hp, they advised to release the static. Did that, comp worked fine. HP Pavilion g7 right speaker is non-functional. The issue occurred after unit was dropped. I am absolutely certain it is not driver, software or balance settings etc etc etc... Is it possible that the connection was jarred loose somehow? Both channels work through headphones.
Could be the connection, or something broke like the actual speaker, one of the wires, or the circuit board/adapter/plug for the speaker.
You will need to open it up and a look, no other way around that.

Right mate do you have all the Quickplay software. If so all you need to do is goto Start, Computer, Devices, Hardware. At the top of the page you will see System Devices. Click it.
You will then see a window just like XP. Hit the hardware tab then scroll down to the USB line.
Once there you should see "USB composite device". Right click on it and choose Enable.
There will be a pause as the device is enabled.
You will then need to scroll up a little and find "imaging devices". Right click on "HP Webcam" and enable it.
That should sort it out. If not let us know.... Hope that helps. Peace

I am trying to reinstall XP and all of the sites I've visited regarding this (Including HP) say, "From the Windows XP desktop, click Start, All Programs and then HP Tools.
I do not have that on my menu. The only thing regarding HP is the HP Share to web and Hewlett-Packard officejet software.
Where do I find HP PC tools so that I might perform HP PC SYSTEM RECOVERY ?
I've tried doing a SYSTEM RESTORE from the SYSTEM TOOLS menu and it goes through the process and then restarts only to say that it failed. Any advise would be refreshing!

I just bought an HP Pavilion and tried to set it up. I could not get the existing monitor to work with the new hard drive. He new Pavilion does not have the same way of connecting the monitor that the old one did. I had to take it apart and put the older machine back in. Why can't I connect my monitor. The plug just won't fit.
Okay, we need more information from you, like... -PC model number (not just Pavilion, but the whole model number as a LOT of Pavilion PCs exist.)-Monitor model number and brand, or pictures of ports on the rear. It sounds like you will need to buy an adaptor which is easy enough to obtain; we just need to know which adaptor to get you.

I currently image our new CPU's with a secure image of Windows XP Sp2. Our computers (desktop and laptops) mainly consist of Dell's and images work fine thanks to our information management staff. However, our director has an HP Pavilion dv8000 notebook that I cant get an image to take on it. It just goes into a cycle of choosing safemode or boot normal.
The weird thing is, I have an option at the start of the image to choose "network" or non-network (stand alone) and the stand alone image works fine.
Are they any settings on this HP that I need to turn off or on for the network image to work?
Thanks in advance

I was having some issues with my laptop being slow and randomly shutting down applications that were open. I scanned for viruses thinking that could be the cause, but none were found. I then decided to just do a total reset and erase literally everything on there. The reset got to around 62% and then it said it failed. Now my laptop will not completely turn on. It just goes to a black screen with the HP logo and then back to a black screen. Every once in a while an error screen pops up with a message saying something like CMOS checksum error. I have tried resetting it with the power button but it haven't worked. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's only a couple months old and I really don't want to buy a new one!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Hp-pavilion/td-p/5708940

My Hp says this, what do I do ,?? Hp Battery alert The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low. For optimal performance , this battery may need to be replaced primary < internal > battery ( 601) please help me me I work from home and no computer is not good lol.. Than you in advance
Hi, The error 'Primary (internal) Battery (601)' does indicate that your notebooks main battery ( not the cmos battery as the error tends to suggest ) is showing signs of wear and you may want to consider replacing it - the 601 error typically occurs when the storage capacity has fallen below 25% of its original value. Further information on this can be found on the following HP document. http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443470 This is a warranty item, so if your notebook is still covered, contact HP and arrange to have it replaced - If needed, you can check your warranty status Here. If you live in the US, contact HP Here. If you are in another part of the world, start Here. I was about to do a restore on my computer today. I restarted my computer and hit the F10 key like always, but nothing happens, the computer just restarts. I tried it repeatedly with the same result. I went back to my computer and seen that the restore partition is still there can anyone tell me why I cannot get my restore working? Is there a way around this I mean is there another way to activate my restore?
My HP Pavilion has the intel 810 chipset. It won't give me more than 24 bit color.
I have reinstalled drivers and down loaded new drivers till I am blue in the face - to no avail.
Any hints what to do next would be appreciated.
