Preferred Solution: No Wifi showing up after windows 10 update.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello  Recently I am experiencing a very serious problem with my wifi  My OS is Windows 10 16.07 build 14393.447. The windows update happened about a week ago At start the system was freezing after 10 minutes of open wifi and no connection possible to my wifi network even if it was showing up and sending the correct password I have reinstalled the sp71571 drivers for the Ralink RT3290 wireless card with partially solving the total problem. (I have also disabled any firewall during reinstallation Now I don't have system freezes and my wifi can see other networks but not mine (and maybe a few others) which is quite strange My only connection to the internet is through Ethernet cable which is to say the least inconvenient Please advise BRDimitris Natsiopoulos

After one of the most recent updates from Windows 10 my Toshiba Satellite no longer shows the available 5Ghz Wifi signal I had set it to auto-connect with.
It does not show up at all in the available connections list.
My other devices (smartphone, tablet) still see it and can connect with it just.

My problem is not an option when using and there is no direct way to contact Customer Services at all.
Also Windows ships me off that the problem would be my drivers.

So far I've downloaded and installed it any updates available, but it still doesn't work.

i just got a new router, my brother helped me set it up
this router creates 2 wifi network, one named A, the other one named B.
A is faster than B (i don't know why)
on my ipad or phone or any mobile devices, i see both networks
but on my windows 7 PC, i only see B (the slower one)
so where is A? i need this faster one, why does it show up on mobile devices but not on my Windows 7 PC?
when he set up the router, he said to me that the website ( - where you can set up your router, put password, etc) says "A is available for Mac and B is available for Windows PC". is this the reason?
but what about mobile devices, they can connect to both networks,
please help, thanks

A:WiFi network is not showing up on Windows 7

Other than the router's setup software, routers typically don't care about the OS of the machines connecting to it. But they do require that connecting devices operate on the protocols that it supports. If network A is running 802.11n and network B is 802.11g, and your PC can only do 802.11g, you will only be able to see B. If your PC can do 802.11n then you would likely see both.

What's the make/model of your router?

I recently updated my Inspiron 14" 5459 to the Windows 10 anniversary update, i noticed that when my wifi access point changes or wifi signal drops or turning off wifi, my laptop semi-freezes, you could still scroll with the mouse or track pad and select open tabs but that's all, clicking other icons and even the windows start menu does not work, if you wait for more than 5 minutes, everything goes back to normal. Waiting around for about 5 minutes is annoying so what I do is press ctrl alt delete and from there restart the laptop. my wifi adapter is updated to the most recent version and also both graphics card (intel hd 520 and amd radeon m335) is also updated to the latest version.  Any suggestion on how to resolve this issue?

A:after Windows 10 anniversary update, Inspiron 5459 freezes if wifi is turned off or wifi access point is changed, is there a solution to this problem?

Please confirm the wireless card from the device manger or the network control panel. Also please update the BIOS firmware to the latest version. The BIOS update should ideally be version v1.2.2. Also please try system out with  a LAN cable as well to confirm if is indeed caused by the wireless. Though this may not run a complete diagnostics on the network you can run a hardware diagnostics on the computer using the following steps

Shutdown the computer
Hold the 'Fn' key and turn on the computer
Let go of the 'Fn' key after 2 seconds

This is will initiate the H/w diagnostics. Please let us know if it completes or if  you run into any errors. If  you do run into any errors.

Hi try clicking " Restore hidden updates" which can be seen in your screenshots.
If that does not work follow this : Windows Update - Reset
If your problem still occurs Try pressing "change settings" under windows update change it to never check for updates, then press ok. Next change it back to recommended settings, always check.... and so on, then press ok.
Please provide feedback, with how this goes.

When you receive it again, do not install. Set it to hide, just right click on the update and choose hide.. You should not be bothered again.

I have a program that requires .NET Framework 4 and saw that I didn't have it installed. I think it's supposed to show up in Windows Update but it doesn't and I have installed all the important updates, although I feel that there are updates that Windows Update is not finding because I had no updates show up for a while and today I had a few security updates show up that were published a few years ago.

I downloaded the Fix It from:
Troubleshoot problems with installing updates - WindowsUpdate_dt000

But after I re-scanned for updates it just showed the same updates I had before with 1 available important update (which is IE10 but I dont need it).

Here I have screenshots of my installed updates, I dont know where the log is saved so I'll just post pics:

The solution:

load internet explorer->TOOLS->MANAGE ADDONS->ENABLE/DISABLE
use the drop down at the top of the page to show:

"addons that HAVE BEEN used by IE"

I found the following addon DISABLED

muwebcontrolclass ---- activeX Control --- muweb.dll

I highlited this line, clicked on ENABLE, closed IE7 , rebooted the computer AND, guess what,

The next time I loaded IE7 to go to windows UPdate, I was asked to install the activeX, I did it, and windows update now works properly.

I recently made a new fresh install of Vista Ultimate 64 bit. I was using it already, but had to format and reinstall, so everything is new and clean.

I have noticed something strange in windows update: optional driver updates for some devices (such as my monitor or the realtek network adapter) are no longer available and they are not showing in the available optional updates list. They seem to work ok but they are displayed in device manager using the generic microsoft drivers.

For example, whenever a new network adapter driver was available, I used to receive a windows update notification telling me that new Realtek drivers were available. Now they are not showing anymore.

Settings for Windows update are "check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them" and "include recommended updates" is ticked.

A:Driver updates not showing in Windows Update

Did you install SP1? It is possible that the updated SP1 files are more recent than the previously shown drivers in WU.

Also, I have noticed that WU never includes the most recent driver available for a system, just usually an older one that is fully compatible with your OS - I noticed this time and time again with nVidia drivers, for example, WU wants to install 169.25, whereas the newest driver version is actually 170.16....

Hen in doubt, I go with the latest drivers from the hardware manufacturer's site as opposed ot Windows Update.

Well I have a strange situation with ActiveX and was hoping if you guys would help me out.

He says that on any other website where he downloads software the ActiveX bar shows up.
Windows automatic updates works and keeps him up to date. Its just that on the Microsoft update website ActiveX won't show up.
Any ideas?
(We've allowed ALL ActiveX to prompt before allowing it to execute).

Thank you for taking the time to read this thread.

A:Solved: ActiveX bar not showing up ONLY on

When the Microsoft update page tries scanning your computer, it explains about not having ActiveX.
Assuming you or the other employee is at the correct page, there should be a sentence or two explaining that you need ActiveX. I'm quite sure you just need to install ActiveX as I had to when I was facing my dilemma yesterday

Some context:
A couple days ago I had experienced this: Svchost almost 100% and Windows Update not pulling updates
I left Windows Update open all night and it finally found the updates and when I woke up I installed them. Took 2 hrs or so to install the updates
Svchost is not acting up anymore

Now the issue is that the Windows Update shield is not showing in the notification bar. I know for sure there are updates available. When I go to install the update I see the lil "downloading and installing" icon in the notification area.

Anyone experience the missing Windows Update shield before? This is a first for me.

A:Windows Update shield not showing up in notification Area......

There is no Shield in Windows 7? - and mostly the notifications are hidden, unless there's a reboot pending.
You can change the Notification behaviour by right-clicking on the TaskBar - select Properties.
In the Taskbar page, click on 'Customise...'
Select Windows Update in the listing, and change to 'Show Icon and Notifications'
Click OK out.

Hi there,

I run IT for a 70 people who are all running Windows 8.1.  I'm not seeing the Windows 10 reservation screen on their machines to which I have seen and activate don my home machines.

All updates are pushed out via my WSUS but the required update (KB3035583) is not showing in my WSUS.  It is available as an optional update if I choose to search Window's updates for updates.

Naturally I want this to be pushed out via WSUS to save time.

Any ideas would be much appreciated as I can't find anything online.

Thank you.

A:Windows 10 reservation update (KB3035583) not showing in my WSUS

One of the files deposited by KB3035583 in the folder "GWX" -- some have interpreted that as "Get Windows 10" -- is "config.xml," which includes a long list of instructions on how the ad-based notification system will work.

The additions were atop the previous (EnableEnterpriseSku)false(/EnableEnterpriseSku) and (EnableDomainJoined)false(/EnableDomainJoined), that blocked the ad campaign from Windows Enterprise, the corporate edition available only through volume licensing deals,
and barred it from Windows devices that connect to a network domain. The latter would rule out the notifications' appearance on devices running the Pro edition, such as Windows 7 Pro, when they're joined to a corporate domain.

A:Problems with wifi after Windows XP update?

Are you talking about the Compaq in your computer specs? If so when you reinstalled windows XP you also needed to install all the drivers. Go to the HP website and download the drivers for your computer then copy them to a CD or DVD then install them. That may cure your Ethernet and Wifi problem.

My girlfriend recently updated her computer from Windows 8 to 8.1 Since then, she's been unable to connect to her home wi-fi. She can only connect via cable. Unfortunately, neither of us have disks to roll her back to Windows 8.
Now here's what's weird. Yesterday she brought her computer to my house and it connected to my wi-fi with no problem.
I updated her adapter drivers to Windows 8.1 but that had no effect on her ability to connect to her home wi-fi network.
Last night she ran "troubleshoot problems" and it says that her adapter is damaged. I highly doubt that since the computer is only a couple of months old and she could connect to my wi-fi network.
So any thoughts on what the problem is and/or potential solutions to try???

I've tried 3 times to make the Windows Update Ralink RT5390 802.11 b/g/n/ Wifi Adapter with Drive Date 11/14/2012 and Ver that's on the update site now but it does not work. So I've reverted back to the former adapter each time, including now.

My current adapter is drive date 9/7/2012 and Ver This one works fine.

Also each time I tried to update I kept getting the message that my DNS settings had been changed. Did I want to keep current settings or change to new settings. This is also confusing.

Any ideas what's up with this obvious screw up from Microsoft or Ralink?

Sometimes when I grab it I notice theres no wifi connected and when I try to connect it, it just says "Cannot connect to this network". After the Windows 10 Anniversary Upgrade I can't connect to any WiFi. Since then I tried uninstalling Windows WiFi Direct Virtual Adapter because I read that after doing that scanning for hardware changes would add it back, and it did, but after repeating this step again it shows up as disconnected. Now the settings menu WiFi section doesn't even show up. I don't know what to do.

I would probably try using System Restore to restore the restore point that should have been made automatically during the Windows Update that started the problem.  (See link below) If that resolves the problem, look for, and install, any updated WiFi Adapter driver from Lenovo (preferred) or Intel before allowing Windows to update again to make sure it works.      I would also run checkdisk on the system before updating again too. (see below) If you cannot restore from a restore point, locate the WiFi Adapter in device manager and delete it;  and when prompted, delete the existing driver files and reboot.    When prompted for drivers when Windows detects the WiFi adapter, point to the latest driver you downloaded from Lenovo. Best of Luck. Recovery options in Windows 10  How to run CheckDiskRight Click on Start MenuSelect Administrator Command PromptType Chkdsk /FType Y to check on next restart when prompted  C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /fThe type of the file system is NTFS.Cannot lock current drive.Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by anotherprocess. Hi guys.

Since installing the recent updates for Windows 10, every now and then my Wifi will just disconnect... Turning it back on is as simple as clicking on the Internet icon and clicking "connect" again, though I'm a gamer and when the connection drops out during games it becomes a real problem. My Wifi is set to connect automatically, but that tool seems to be ignored as it disconnects and stays disconnected until I manually click "connect".

A:Wifi disconnects randomly since windows 10 update 2 days ago.

Hi Earless, just want to let you know that, although I don't have a solution to your problem, I've had my wifi icon change to show I'm always in "airplane mode" even thought I'm not. In other words, others are having similar problems, and the solution must go beyond simply "turning system icons on and off" and "restarting the system." Those don't work. For any and all reading this thread, this is an issue of consequence, for indeed we all know that at times our wifi does go out and it'd be nice to simply verify that at a glance at a functioning icon rather than to have to run several test web pages to see if, indeed, I am still connected to the internet. Does anyone have a solution? My experience also came immediately after the recent (Dec 19th, 2015) update to Windows 10.

A:wifi disconnect frequently after update windows 10 Notebook ...

linustocn Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about WiFi frequently disconnecting and wanted to help.Anytime someone comes here running Win10 and complains about something suddenly not working, I immediately suspect Windows Driver updates.Unfortunately, Win10 automatically forces driver updates on all of us, without our knowledge, and without our permission -- and when this happens, a working PC is suddenly "broken".  This might have happened to you.You need to go into Settings, Update & Security --> Windows Update. Then, choose Advanced Options --> History to see when updates were last applied.  If you see any that include device drivers, those could be the problem. So, if you can, you should see if you can rollback the drivers that are causing the problem.  You do this by going into Device Manager, seeing if the appropriate device is still listed, and if so, trying to rollback the last driver update. And if that fixes the problem, then consider disabling future driver updates using the information in the link: If you didn't see any driver updates recently, then try the steps in this thread:  HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and InternetGood Luck========================================================================I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.---------------------------------------------------------------If my posts helped you, please click the Thumbs-Up symbol on my post to say thanks. If my posts solved your problem please click "Accept As Solution".========================================================================

Hi, first post but very much need help. I saw similar threads to what my problem is but not exactly the same.

Basically I got a new wireless adapter last weekend. It was working fine, but then an automatic windows update occurred and I could not connect to the Internet anymore. It just says "limited access". I system restored to before the update and it went back to working fine. But now I can't restore to that previous point anymore so Internet is completely gone. I've not been able to get a cable to connect yet but I'm fairly sure that will work. However I would obviously prefer wireless to work.

I'm positive it has to do with this update but have no idea what and how to solve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A while ago, after accidentally opening the Store app, Windows forced me to restart to install Windows 8.1, which I was unable to weeks before because of driver issues. I didn't need Windows 8.1 yet, so I didn't download it before then.

However, during the installation, it failed (again) due to either my antivirus or the aforementioned driver issues. Upon logging back in, my computer was unable to find any WiFi networks. Seeing as I live in the middle of a densely populated city, this isn't possible. Plugging in an ethernet cord still works, so no issues with that adapter or my home internet. I checked all the drivers for my WiFi adapter, and my Ethernet adapter, and both are up to date and display as working properly. Restarting several times didn't seem to fix this issue, and using system restore didn't seem to work either. I used the Troubleshooting tool, and that didn't give my any helpful advice or answers, so I got nothing.

What can I do to fix this issue?

For reference, I have a Broadcom 802.11ac Network Adapter, Driver Version, and a Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller, Driver Version

So the problem is that my WiFi somehow doesn't show up on my devices. However, the internet works perfectly fine through ethernet cable for my PC. All my other devices such as my phone and laptop dont see the router even though I have enabled wifi through the router control panel. I also have reset the router manually, updated to recent firmware. My ISP said it might be my computer so I disconnected the cable from the pc to the router and hardwired to another computer, tried that for a day but still no help

I thought it was my router's problem so I exchanged it for the same model (Netgear N300) but the problem still exists. I went back to ask the computer store to test the router's wifi and they said that it worked fine...

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi We have a network of WiFi access points and a lot of them are on Channel we are located in Europe so these channels are allowed to use nbsp Recently we started getting complaints from different users that they are not able to Can't after to affected) windows connect channel different update on WiFi computers (multiple 13 connect to our access points The users use Can't connect to WiFi on channel 13 after windows update (multiple different computers affected) different brand computers HP Asus and different brand of WiFi adapters realtek atheros and are using either Windows or Can't connect to WiFi on channel 13 after windows update (multiple different computers affected) Windows The only thing in common is that they recently installed Microsoft Windows updates nbsp The SSID is public not hidden they Can't connect to WiFi on channel 13 after windows update (multiple different computers affected) all were able to connect to the SSID before the updates Currently they can't even see the SSID in the network list If we install some rd party tool to scan the networks on the computer - it does see the ssid If we boot up from a livecd - it also does see the network If we put the WiFi on channel or some other lower channel - they are able to see the network but not on channel - So this is definitely something related to windows update Are there any known issues with this How can this be fixed Any workarounds available nbsp Unfortunately these notebooks belong to our clients and we can't replicate the issue on a few of our own notebooks we tried I would try to deinstall each update until i find out which one makes the wifi broken but still waiting for a customer to sacrifice his notebook to me for a day or two to find this out P S Changing the wifi channel to something other than is not a solution as it does not fix the underlying problem in windows I asked the same question on nbsp http answers microsoft com en-us windows forum windows -hardware cant-connect-to-wifi-on-channel- -after-windows adc -e e- - c -e e f b e but i've been forwarded here

Hi, I have a HP 15-g009ax. Since a few days it has sarted showing Wifi problem. Certain times after restarting the laptop, the wifi doesn't work. Even the Wifi logo doesn't show in the taskbar. At this time the laptop doesn't detect the wifi. Trouble shooting has also not helped, cause it only detects Lan connection. I have tried updating & reinstalling the drivers, but in vain. The wifi starts automatically after unspecific time & restarts. After removing the battery of the laptop & reinstalling it back, the wifi starts working again. Can you please let me know for what should be the problem. Thanks

Hi. Since yesterday, whilst I can see that there are wifi networks within range, none of the names are listed. Not a problem when I'm in range of a familiar network, but makes it impossible to connect to any new networks.
At the same time, when I click the power options button, whilst the box is there that should contain the sleep, power off and restart options, no text is visible (although it is still there as if I hover over where sleep is, I can put the laptop to sleep). Does anybody have any advice?

Hello! About two weeks ago, my friends computer started bugging out with the wifi. It started when she unexpectedly shut down her computer, when she brought it back up, the wifi symbol wasn't up, so she shut down and restarted her computer correctly; the wifi symbol still isn't appearing. It's showing the symbol for hooking a computer up through ethernet cable. I went to wireless on her computer to see if it was toggled off, but "wifi" isn't appearing at all, it's just showing "bluetooth". The Toshiba is a Satellite C855D-S5104. Thanks

I am using Windows 7 and I have my Administrator account and a Guest account. I had a friend visiting me and I had him use the Guest account when he wanted on the computer.

Today, I went into the Guest account, and the wifi is not showing up. It was working when my friend was using it. I went back to my Administrator account and the wifi is working fine there.

When I try to access the internet under the Guest account but of course it will not connect. I tried the troubleshooter but it did not help. I went to Control Panel and Networking but was not able to find a way to get the wifi to turn on in the Guest account.

Anyone know how I can get the wifi turned on in the Guest account when it is up and running fine under the main Administrator account?

A:Wifi not showing up in Guest account

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Have you tried to manually add your SSID under Guest Account?

I'd try creating a new Guest or a Standard User Account see if that helps.

A:wifi not showing kali linux

Hello, Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome! HP computers (most of them) are designed with Microsoft and Windows in mind. They do not officially support Linux due to lack of tests, HP propretiery and tested drivers, etc... As you probably know, Linux is different from Windows and FOSS drivers here come from the kernel itself. If wi-fi or sound adapter is not recognized OR if it does not function well, it may be due to lack of proper and tested drivers in the kernel. I can advice you try with different still supported Kernel versionsor post in the Linux community >> Kali is special Linux-based operating system not typically used by novice Linux users and not typically run on daily bases. You may also try the most common Linux-based OS Ubuntu or Linux Mint.

I'm just curios, when looking at the list of WiFi connections available to connect to in WIN7, I see one that says: DeviceSerialNumberLogger.

Any idea what this is?

Could be that somebody in your area assigned an SSID of DeviceSerialNumberLogger to their WiFi router or access point.

I recently found that "xfinity wifi" is showing up in my available internet access list as an openly available option.
I have comcast xfinity hi speed internet as my internet provider but have never had it show up on the routers available connections list before. The home network I set up years ago has a different name.

I am puzzled why this free open network has suddenly appeared in the list. As it requires no password I think there is a possibility its use might present a security risk
Is this a new Xfinity feature??

Hi @vivekcoool21, Welcome to the HP Forum! I am pleased that you have become a HP Forum member.  It is such a wonderful site to find answers and tips. Here is a link to guide you   to having the most rewarding experience and answer any concerns about posting.: First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More  I understand that you suddenly lost your WiFi and you have the message :"No Networks Found" with a red cross on it.  Please try the following by @Great-Deku-Tree: First, we have a step by step guide to walk you through the troubleshooting process here: Troubleshooting Your Wireless Network and Internet Connection A second option, is to try these steps:Power cycle the network:1. Shut down your notebook.2. Unplug the power to your router.3. Unplug the power to your modem.4. Wait at least 45 seconds.5. Plug in the modem, and wait for it to come back online.6. Plug in the router, and wait for it to come back online.7. Turn on your notebook, and test your connection.Disable the Power Off option for the adapter:1. Open Device Manager. (Win Key+R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)2. Expand the Network adapters.3. Right-click on the Ethernet/Wireless Adapter and click Properties.4. Click the Power Management tab.5. Remove the check mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.6. Click OK.7. Test.Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.2. Right- click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.4. Restart your PC and test.It may also help to reset the winsock catalogue:1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.4. Restart your PC and test.Reinstall the network adapter drivers:1. Download the drivers from here but do not run them yet.2. Go to your start screen/menu and type Device Manager.3. Expand Network adapters.4. Right click on the wireless adapter and choose Uninstall.5. Run the downloaded drivers from step 1.6. Restart your PC and test.Test an ethernet connection:Self- explanatory. Test if the issue persists on a wired connection to rule out the wireless adapter hardware so troubleshooting can be directed towards the right areas.Test another connection:Many people rule out their home network as an issue if another device is working on the same network. Networking is not that simple. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to rule out settings in that device until the notebook has been tested on another network. If those three steps do not resolve the issue, try this document published by Microsoft for networking issues: Wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the dropdown in the upper-right corner of the document. Hopefully, this helps. Please click the ?Thumbs Up? below to thank me for my efforts! My Brand new Laptop: Lenovo g505 after upgrading it to windows 8.1 from MS Apps store now i am not able to connect to internet i get "limited" or "No Internet Access". i have tried to re install the driver no luck

Lenovo support suggests to do factory rest but i dont want to go back to windows 8

Does anyone else has any other idea on how to fix this issue ?
Thank you very much

A:Windows 8.1 Wifi showing "limited" or "No Internet Access"

Try rebooting the router & modem. Usually limited connection, means that the compute has failed to communicate properly with the Wireless Access Point, or wired router connection.

i remember with windows xp and office you could go to a different part of the microsoft windows update website in Internet Explorer and it would prompt you with ActiveX to allow updates for Office and after you did that then when 2010 for update updates win7 not thru showing office windows office you went to the normal windows xp update site there would be a whole other section of updates for microsoft office available That was with office anyway i use a dell restore cd for windows professional on a dell pc obviously to install win from scratch I can do windows updates no problem I have microsoft office professional plus with a valid license key these are provided by my IT dept Office installs fine not showing office updates thru windows update for office 2010 win7 during the install i can go through the options and install excel powerpoint all shared tools and so on Once installed it works fine There is no service pack installed at this point From here not showing office updates thru windows update for office 2010 win7 if I go windows update I never see anything for office From within office Microsoft Word file menu help for example it shows office is activated and if i click on check for updates there it then not showing office updates thru windows update for office 2010 win7 opens an IE window which says updates can be done from start menu - programs - windows update If i do that it's a normal windows operating system update and I get nothing for office I have manually downloaded from microsoft Office SP and SP and have installed either one When i go to the help menu it then shows office SP so the service pack seems to have installed no problem But I still never see any updates for office from windows update what's the deal

A:not showing office updates thru windows update for office 2010 win7

You mean what's called Microsoft Update. If you go in to the settings in Windows Update, do you have this checked:

I have Office 2013 Pro Plus, but the click-to-run version which updates itself and is not part of Windows Update. But I don't think there's a click-to-run version for 2010 Pro Plus so that is probably not the issue here.

Do you get internet access with an ethernet connection?

Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page (don't collapse the Radar, Connection or Signal History) of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. If you need help with that see TSG Posting a Screenshot. FWIW to take screen shots with Windows 7 or Vista I prefer to use the built-in Snipping Tool.
