I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have a brand new computer and not liking the touch pad that randomly changes the fonts. Is there a setting where I can prevent this from happening.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/new-HP-Pavillion-17t-laptop-touch-pad-is-there-a-setting-to/td-p/5672396
Last night I took my brand new HP Pavillion 17t Touch Laptop out of the box and it is sooo slow. Boot up is slow. Running any operations is slow. Using the internet is slow. I tried transferring files from Carbonite to this new computer and just the process of accomplishing that setup took me half an hour. This morning I had to reboot and it took 5 minutes. I only know enough about computers to be dangerous so I don't mess with to many settings myself. This unacceptible performance out of a new computer. It is definately the slowest computer that I have ever owned. Any solutions that anyone can offer (reminder, I need step by step instructions)

Can we replace the capacitive touch controller or is it fixed?
Can you please provide more details?
What device do you mean?
My Ideapad S415 touch screen has suddenly stopped working. I've had a tech connect to my PC and try a BIOS reload of default settings, plus unistalling all "HID" devices in Device Manager with no resolution. I've also tried a system restore with no luck. The system properties does see the touch capability. Suggestions? Thanks.

I want to buy this mouse to better work with my laptop.
Can somebody give me some feedback on how this glas pane works instead of a scrollwheel? Handling, etc.
Sorry I can't answer your question, but this post piqued my interest. I use the Logitech 620 touch mouse on a Windows 7 box at work. I find a little touchy and has to tweaked. But I haven't tried the 620 on Windows 8. Because I'm always looking for the perfect mouse, I think I might just pick up the 400 tonight and let you know.http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/23647-logitech-touch-mouse-400-laptop-no-touch-screen.html

Hi Magnutus, welcome to the forums.
Please check if you Lenovo S210 is on warranty under with this tool.
After that you can open a ticket with Lenovo for the screen to be fixed, if it is not under warranty it will have a cost.
If you are the guys that like to fix it yourself (and it is not under warranty) I can recommend you to check the support site for your model, read the Hardware Maintenance Manual (on the documents area) and check how the machine is organized on the inside. On the parts lookup page you can find the parts number so you can find a replacements for the component that is giving you issues.
I hope this links helps you.

Yesterday I was on my laptop and before I shut it down it went into what looked like a different mode. I booted it up this morning and it is still in this mode. It looks like touch screen mode but I do not have a touch screen. The icons on the task bar are spaced out and there is a back button on the task bar too which is not normally there. When i right click against the task bar, one of the buttons says "Show touch keyboard button". All of my files are spead out as if to have room for touching if I had a touch screen but I do not. I am finding this very annoying because I cannot get onto my desktop properly and is not in the right mode. Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Check the Touch funtionality in OKR environment.
Turn off the computer and Turn it back on and right away start tapping F2.
Select Recovery. Once in the Recovery screen Test the touchscreen by touching any of the option if it will respond.
If the touchscreen works in OKR Environment, I suggest you perform a One key recovery (expect dataloss).
If the touchscreen still did not work in OKR Environment, I suggest you call Lenovo Technical Team for assistance.

Hi, I've recently formatted my Laptop HP Envy m7-n101dx (touch) and installed Win7 Ultimate (64 bit). I have downloaded all drivers available on HP website and installed on my laptop. There is only one unknown device left (acpi\msft010), and I'm unable to to find the correct driver. My problem is I'm unable to use the touch screen of the laptop, I've googling and found that is there must be a problem with with the Human Interface Device, but when I've checked the Device Manager no Human Interface Device is on the list. Please could anyone help me out. Thanks in advance
Hello @JeffJadoo, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! The Forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community! I understand that you are having an issue with the Touch Screen, and wanted to assist you! Did the notebook originally ship with Windows 10? How did you go about formatting the notebook, and installing Windows 7? You may be able to use the Recovery Manager to restore the drivers, however, based on how you installed Windows, the Recovery Partition may already be removed. You can also try reviewing the following document, to see if the information helps: HP Notebook PCs - Touch Screen Issues (Windows 8) Please post back with the results. It is possible that the Touch Screen may not be supported for Windows 7 on that particular notebook. Please let me know if this information helps you resolve the issue by marking this post as "Accept as Solution", this will help others easily find the information they may be looking for. Touch screen on our HP Pavilion 23ST Touch All in One PC P2N42AVstopped working after about 6 months. I reimaged and restored it back to original system. To make sure nothing waschanged by any updates that may have been done.I cannot see any options in device manager for the touch screen.Everything else is working just fine but no touch screen functionality. doing F2 and trying component test. My client told me this was a touch screen, so that is what I ordered. HP 749970-001 touch screen display assembly. It is installed, but not recognized. In order to use it as a touch screen, would I have to replace the motherboard too?Is there a driver available? The display works, it is just not working as a touch screen.
I have a kiosk on which I've just installed 8.1 pro. It has an oem touch screen manufactured by General touch (p/n st6001u). I've installed the driver and it seems to work but Windows still says "no pen or touch available". My customers using the
kiosk will need to type on screen in addition to just clicking. Is there any way to for the OS into touch mode? I believe under 7 there was an option in Windows features but I can't seem to find anything on 8. Google has been no help.
I bought a Lenovo G50-80 Touch Laptop, but for some reason the touchscreen is disabled and it also says that it doesn't have touchscreen on it.https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-B-and-G-Series-Notebooks/G50-80-Touch-Touch-Screen-isn-t-working/td-p/3324184
So I have got a Lenovo Y50-70 with 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display for about two years now. I've accidentaly dropped my backpack, while the laptop was in it and cracked it's screen so I need to replace it. The screen in the cracked part is working as it was working before the accident, the crack is on the glass. So I was wondering if I can replace my 15.6" 3840x2160 UHD Touch Display with a 15.6" 1920x1080 FHD Non-touch Display? Is it possible?I've read that whether screen you are changing, its working depends on the quantity of pins on the Video signal connector.

Hi, My daughter has a Pavillion g7 running on Windows 7, which will not load. When the power button is pushed the fan spins, white power light comes on, the white light on the side comes on (does not flicker) and the broadband light comes on but stays orange in colour (does not turn white as when connected to broadband). I have tried tapping F2, F8, F10 and F11 when pushing the power button. I still cannot get passed the black screen. I have tried the above on battery only and power lead ony, still no change. Is there anything else that I can try? Thanking you in advance for any suggestions. Andy Baxter
Thank you for your reply. I was going to do as you suggested but, the last time I attempted a boot up and failed, I closed the lid before removing the power lead. I plugged the power lead back in to follow your suggestions, lifted the lid and the laptop booted up! Amazed. Hopefully the problem is resolved. Thank you for your input. Hey guys my hp pavillion g has suffered some injuries over the years due to missing screws from the hinges my own retarded fault The defect began by sometimes when I made the angle of the screen wit the bottom of the laptop a bit over deg it would give me a white screen This problem would gradually get worse until it does this at every angle and flickers What I have done Made sure the signal connector HP screen Pavillion G7 white from the screen to the motherboard is properly connected Check if the there seems to be something wrong with the connection between the LCD and the cable to the motherboard I didn't take it of and put it back in because it looked fine and it was taped up Measured some resistances in HP Pavillion G7 white screen the screen from the black and white power wires found that the black one makes contact with the hinge but when I lifted the cable so it doesn't touch the hinge it still gave contact so I thought this was intended I would also like to add that I accidentally put quite a bit of force on the chip between the motherboard and the black and white power supply cables because I forgot to take it off before trying to take the motherboard out The resistance between the outputs is vert very low is this how it is supposed to be Any thoughts on how I should proceed
From CLICK HERE if you have already checked all connections the problem could be a defective motherboard or screen.http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forum/helproom-1/hp-pavillion-g7-white-screen-4597879/

Hey all, I woke up this morning and started using my computer to find that there were white spots on my computer screen that I had not previously noticed. I have had the computer for two years and haven't had any similar issues. There does not appear to be anything wrong with the pixels, as the color changes appropriately - it's just brighter. Furthermore, the bright spots on the screen heat up much more than the rest of the screen, which remains cool. I also noticed that, though this may be a separate issue, the touch screen isn't responding. Here is an image (it's much more noticeable on a white background): http://imgur.com/09sYisg Any help is much appreciated!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Lighter-Spots-on-Computer-Screen-Touch-Screen-Not-Working/td-p/5745362

I have a windows 7 touch screen laptop which I am using along with an extended desktop on a secondary monitor. Is there any way I can lock the mouse/pointer onto the secondary monitor but still use the touch screen facility on the laptop itself?
thanks in advance for any help provided.
I've had this Chromebook for under a week, and today out of no where it the screen flickers nonstop.
If im doing something like watching a video, then the entire screen does it. What should i do? I have a warranty.
I charged the battery, and once it was 100% it stopped happening. Now my touch screen is on, and i can't turn it off no matter if i use the command or change it in the settings. Im assuming this is a touch screen problem.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19994288

Hi I need to replace a screen on the above laptop - however I am unsure which screen I need - there seems to be one with a dual back light - and a 17.3" screen size as wellas the 17" - any ideas how I could find out which part I need ?
Look on the back of the screen itself there should be some numbers on the back of the screen type model number from the back of the screen into google or eBay that will give you the correct screen.
My daughter has an HP Pavillion Entertainment PC, Intel Core 2 Duo. Runs on Vista.

nbsp My neighbor had this computer for several years and it started as a Win and has been upgraded to a Win He gave it to his sister -in-law to use Last wek it flickered and went to a white screen He thought the screen was bad so he bought a replacement and I installed it The new one is still a white screen white dv7-6c93dx Pavillion screen I plugged in an HDmI cable and tried multiple reboots with no chage I left it alone and after hours the LCD plugged into the HDMI came up with the rotating circle like that POS Win constantly does after another two hours I finally could log in and do updates run anti-virus and malware It came up clean I then checked SYSTEM to see if it saw the moniter and it shows two iterantions of PNP moniter Deleting both and a reboot and they come back Going into the Intel screen for the video and it says there is two screens but can't show the system display moniter as connected I notice on several HP laptops you can have a white screen and it is a bad inverter and it is under the beezle but on this one that section of the beezle does not come up like it does on other units The Wihite screen will blank on and off when the PC does the same to the HDMI connected screen but outside of that you can't do anythying else which means no ability to check anything at boot up because the Itel video drivers are not loaded I've tried pulling power and batteries and holding the power button and the same while Pavillion dv7-6c93dx white screen pulling and rotating ram slotshttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavillion-dv7-6c93dx-white-screen/td-p/5638427
I have an HP Pavillion G72 which had a cracked screen and so I replaced the screen like I did with my other laptops. The original LED screen has a code of LP173WD1, it was replaced by a LTN173KT01-DO1. The retailer has shown that these replacements are compatible with each other and my friend had no problems with his. After I replaced mine, I experienced green lines, pink bars and somehow a double screen on my Pavillion. I've tried updating my drivers and BIOS as well. Could anyone direct me to further troubleshooting steps before I decide to return the new screen?
Doesn't look like a driver issue.......is it the same in Safe Mode?
Also try a external monitor just to be sure.

HP Pavillion 23 All In One LTM230HT10 Replacement Screen needed due to cracked screen. I also would like to know if I can order a "touch screen" as a replacement screen instead of the original if it will work or not. I would also like to upgrade the RAM. Otherwise I just need to purchase a replacement asap. Where can I order one and what is the price with shipping included. Thanks, Christianhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Pavillion-23-All-In-One-LTM230HT10-Replacement-Screen/td-p/5622809

Have been running this Pavilion just fine until last week when I hooked up a projector to the on board vga. It worked fine the first few times, but then once, when I unplugged the projector cable, suddenly the PC froze. And now when I try to boot, the system powers on (meaning the LEDs are lit, the optical drives & the fans are working too) but, there's no display in the monitor.. no beeps. So basically the system isn't booting..
I tried adding a new vga card, a new power supply and even RAM but none of them seem to be the problem.. so what do u think might be wrong? is it possible the motherboard is fried? or could it be the processor?
Thank you in advance for any helpful responses..
I have a HP Pavillion 6000us, it started looping to MBR Errors.
- I ran HD diagnostics and it failed in the first test, fail code 07.
- The HP support site seemed to point to HD failure, so I ordered a new HD from HP.
- Using newly installed new HD and run Recovery from DVD, just after Recovery starts running I get the Blue Screen of Death.
- Couple calls to support suggested Motherboard failure.
- Further looking and seems MotherBoard no longer stocked...!@#$%.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, a friend recently dropped his HP Pavillion DV6, now it comes up with the windows did not start succesfully, and im given the options launch start up repair or start normally; starting normally it loads for a minute or so then a blue screen appears for barely half a second, and what appears to be a papragraph with writing, it is impossible to make out any of it, this also happens when I start it in safe mode. Start up repair loads then just a blue screen appears, as does the mouse which can be moved, nothing else, i cant ctrl-alt-delete, im forced to shutdown. Im guessing a component has broke and its a matter of it being repired, but maybe something can be done, ive attached a picture, would appreciate help very much, thanks.
If it was working prior to dropping it I would say the laptop has sustained some damage.
Hello Need help! HP laptop screen is black, when the adaptor is connected I can hear the fan through air vent beneath. Pressed ESC this is the message that appears, "ESC...Pause Startup". Hi, and welcome. What graphic card are you using? Have you checked for windows 7 updates yet?http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/4698-hp-pavillion-dv6000-screen-resolution-problem.html
So this Christmas i was very excited to get this laptop and it cost me Overall this is an outstanding laptop aside that the graphics card could be better and the sound quality from the speakers isn't as good as I expected it to be Anyway back to my question I have been using the laptop all day long and so far everything is working randomly HP off turns beats screen pavillion normally However at times randomly without any notice the screen goes black and it basically freezes This happend once while I was typing and once when I was watching a video I have been active both times that it turns off and the battery is never near death when it does this While the screen is frozen I cannot do anything with HP pavillion beats screen randomly turns off it only turn it off HP pavillion beats screen randomly turns off And to give you closure I HP pavillion beats screen randomly turns off did try turning the nbsp backlit keyboard on and off no changes whatsoever and I also tried pressing the Caps Lock button to find a resonse and as presumed no lights turning on nothing Like I said when these pauses happen I am highly active and the battery is charged If it helps I haven't experienced them WHILE the laptop was charging It's a shame that such a great laptop has a simple flaw that could probably be easily fixed nbsp Thanks for listening Jalen Solved View Solution
You are a godsend. Very useful info. Thank you so very much. Which brings me to my last question; in the document, it mentioned manually restarting the computer with the power button when the lock ups occur due to overheating, unable to produce image on screen, etc. I was wondering if manually restarting the PC this way would at all cause damage or cause the PC to be slower in the future. Thank you so much again for your help! Jalenhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-pavillion-beats-screen-randomly-turns-off/td-p/4797267
I have an Hp Pavillion that i purchased 2 years ago and have a black screen issue. I turn on the power and hear the fan and hard drive but my display is black. I have taken the battery out an drained the power and then rplaced it and it worked acouple of times, but now that does not work at all. I will leave it for a week and then try and turn it on and it will work fine for a few days and then go back to having a black screen. I have changed the ram and that didnt solve anything, so i am looking for some advice. can anyone help. its is weird that it works sometimes and then goes out again. Model # pavillion g7-1167dx
Hi Antonio59,I understand you are having issues with your HP Pavilion g7-1167dx Notebook and black screen displays. Note before starting disconnect all peripheral devices from the notebook before doing a hard reset. Here is a link to a document on black screen troubleshooting.Hope it helps.Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Hp-Pavillion-g7-1167dx-notebook-black-screen/td-p/3460629
Hello.I have a hp pavilion dv4 model, which today, out of sudden, stopped booting. Though the lights are on (power, touchpad, etc), it only shows a black screen. No sound coming from hd or fan. The scroll and caps lock LEDs keep blinking, they don't stop ( I already checked the led code table And this is none of them). I already hard reseted it. Anything else I can do?
Just saw another person with this problem. The led sequence indicates insufficient power:http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01732674Check your battery. Try to boot without the battery installed. Try a different plug (wall outlet).http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Hp-pavillion-dv4-not-booting-black-screen-and-blinking-LEDs/td-p/1673191
My Pavillion DV8000T Laptop Screen has a slight hint of white at the base when booting up, but once Windows XP starts loading it OK.
Is this the sign of problems starting with the screen. ??
its called bleeding and is normal
As the subject says. I've had this laptop for about a month and this has happened about 5 times now. I'll be using the laptop and the screen will go into sleep mode. Pressing keys, clicking buttons on the pad or the mouse won't wake it up. They only way I've been able to wake it when it does this is either by holding the power button down then power back on, or closing the lid and re-opening it (easiest way). Based on searches this seems to be an issue with this model, has HP done anything to resolve or address this? What can I do to fix this?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Pavillion-17-g121wm-screen-randomly-goes-to-sleep-during-use/td-p/5839458
Friday I think I downloaded a virus. My computer would come on but briefly and I would then get a blue screen saying dumping files . My computer would then restart. I reset my computer back to several days prior to having the issue and continued to have the same issue. I then downloaded Norton and left while it was initializing. I came back to a black screen. Now my computer will come on and at the bottom say something about pressing esc, then nothing. I have tried a hard restart and I have no way to back up files now. Please help. I am running Windows 7 on a HP Pavilion G6.
my laptop is showing this problem for last two days, whenever i am opening it after showing HP screen it shows a blank screen. I even tried opening it in safe mode but it dint started and shows the blank screen only.
Please suggest what can be the cause for this and how to resolve.
Would like to tell one more thing that on the same day i upgraded my RAM,it worked fine but in between it was showing blank screen but after 3-4 times it created this problem,so cn it b the reason fr the same or not.
Hp laptop taking to long to boot up and monitor remains blank
I have been experiencing the blue screen problem almost once a day from the past one week. The system stops working while i am browsing. Then i restart in safe mode and then restart again in normal mode. It works fine. But i think this could lead to some serious problems later. Hence i request you to give me some solution for this problem. Your help is appreciated. I have attached the required info and given below are the details of my laptop.
Laptop is a HP Pavilion DV6 notebook PC.
Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit (6.1, Buil 7601)
The OS came pre-installed with the laptop.(OEM)
Both the laptop and OS are about an year old.
Note: The antivirus is Avira Antivir Premium (Evaluation version) which did not get identified during the System Health report generation.
Thanks and Regards,
Hello Abdul Waheed,
I see several crashes was caused by Avira driver.
So I recommend to uninstall Avira for a while to see if the BSOD will stop.

Hello @SFKervin , Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand the hinge has broken on your notebook and it no longer turns on. It's possible that the chassis has separated preventing the power button from making contact with the power button board below. The simplest solution would be to replace the hinge. You can find detailed instructions on how to replace the hinge here: HP Pavilion g7 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide on page 57. You can order a replacement display hinge kit by searching the part number 682746-001 and the display hinge covers with part number 682747-001 (if needed) online from many retailers like Amazon, eBay, or the HP Part Surfer web store. Regarding any recalls you can see a list of active recalls for HP on the following website: Replacement programs and product recalls. Hopefully this helps!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Broken-Left-hinge-on-HP-Pavillion-G7-2246NR-17-3-screen/td-p/4477888

Try resetting the BIOS to default settings and check any other external devices that are connected that might interfere with the computer during hardware discovery. If nothing helps, remove the CMOS battery for a couple of minutes and see if it will correct the problem.
I powered down the machine yesterday (Shut Down) and now this morning the computer will not boot.
When I try to boot the machine the BIOS screen does not appear, the HD light flickers on but then stays off. All other lights on the machine are on as normal. The fan kicks in within 30 seconds and sounds like it's running at maximum revs.
I did a hard reset and reseated the HD and the RAM and replaced the RTC battery without fixing the issue.
I will disassemble the unit and make sure the fan is not clogged, in the meantime does anyone have any thoughts ?
The motherboard has probably failed do to consistent overheating over time...
I had to do a factory reset on my laptop and now when i turn it on it is a black screen with a cursor in the top left corner and the screen never changes. What do I do?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/HP-Pavillion-g7-series-factory-reset-and-black-screen/td-p/5831748
My friends wife died a few months ago. His son dropped his laptop and I volunteered to fix it.
I hooked it up to a monitor and it is working fine.
The LCD is broken so I ordered a new one.
My problem: I can get almost the entire thin black casing frame off. It snaps off. I just can't get the bottom portion of it off.
There seems to be two circles on this black piece of plastic frame. It is on the bottom right and left? That is the only portion that won't snap off. I fell that if I put too much pressure it will snap. Does anyone know how to get this last little portion to snap off?
Those black circles are screw covers. Take a pointed object, sharp knife or something and pry the covers off. You will find 2 small philips screws under the covers. Look here for your model and probably detailed instructions how to take the laptop apart. http://repair4laptop.org/disassembly_hewlett_packard.html If you don't find your exact model look at a couple of the others as they are all similar.
Same porblem as all the others. The bottom left corner of the case has broken off leaving the hinge intact and hanging. I see this is an HP QC issue as there are thousands of complaints yet few good resolutions posted..,http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Broken-Left-hinge-on-HP-Pavillion-G7-2246NR-17-3-screen/td-p/5615478

My screen went black. At firdt I thought there were no images/graphics, but when i shine light on screen I can see graphics and navigate with no problem. Blue LCD light is on above the "end"/"pg up" button.
I recently did full reset to factory settings....tho computer was working fine for 4-5 days after that.. I may have hit some buttons on keyboard. Last download before issue was Adobe Photoshop trial download.
Just registered so I could also say thanks to the member who came up with the cost-free solution to this problem. Put a towel around the laptop until it overheated enough to turn itself off. Waited for it to cool. Started right up w/ no issues.Woo hoo! My wife asked me how I fixed it, after my computer guy said it couldn't be done in a cost effective way. I told her I used a bit of witchcraft. lolhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-Pavillion-laptop-black-screen-blinking-Caps-lock-button/td-p/5612682
The computer had been working fine before, but now it is stuck on a black screen saying things like "memory bank 1: not installed" and other various banks up to 4 which say "2048 MB/DDR3 SDRAM" and also "initializing USB controllers...done".
I tried shutting the power off and on but the same screen stays.
It also says to press F10 to enter setup but when I press the key, nothing works and is completely stuck.
Mate first reseat all the sticks and clan the slots if it is an older machine
Now as for the slots to clean them use astrip of old credit card about 1/2 inch wide nip the corners off one end - preferably round them offhold apiece of thin lint free cloth over the end dab on some form of alcohol - isopropyl alcohol (what we swab the skin with before an injection) is good and GENTLY swipe along the slots.
This can also be done for the GPU slot/s.
then run this if it does not function
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html this one you will need to make a bootable disk set the BIOSto optical (or USB if preferred) boot the machine and let it run for at LEAST 8 passesunless the errors come upstraight away. Takes a fair time to complete and some leave it runningovernight.
If you do get errors and have morethan one stick then you will need to test each one separately and maybe even inthe separate slots.
Hi every body….any body know what is the best Touch screen software (Kiosk Development Software) please let me know ….thank you.
don't have that much expereince with these, but have a look at this site:
I have recently aquired two touchscreen machines. They are the control unit for cash registers. They are both fairly low spec:
Just like to hear some ideas on what I could do with this with focus on the touch screen.
It would be great to upgrade them and then use them as photo editing computers for cutting and painting on images.
Touchscreen isn't working properly. Can't scroll, swipe, enlarge or make smaller. It kinda goes crazy. Open/closes without me touching anything.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Touch-screen/td-p/5610638

Looking into using a touch screen monitor. I use Windows 7 Home Premium and I understand that Windows Touch is available on the version.
If I would get the monitor, do I need to find drivers or are they include with Win 7?
Is anyone using a touch screen monitor now?
Looking at Windows 8, I have been playing with the Consumer Preview copy and it looks like a touch screen would be useful with Win 8 if a person would decide to upgrade to that.
Hello Jack, welcome to Sevenforums!
Touchscreen is useful, and fun. It is by no means neccessary, however. Windows has a standard driver, but for a touchscreen, you will want to look up the driver on the monitor's manufacturer's website. There are 2 different drivers - 64 and 32 bit. Make sure you get the right one according to your system.
If I were to use touchscreen, it would be because of application(s) that require it, or are easier to use because of it.
I have a netbook and a desktop. When Windows 8 comes out, if I install it on my desktop, would I have to get a different monitor to use the touch screen or will it work with any of the newer monitors?
If you want touchscreen capability, you will need a touchscreen. But I am sure Win8 will also work with the traditional gear.http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/1916-touch-screen.html

I'm thinking of connecting a 19 inch touch screen to my system to use Media Center and security camera's in my kitchen.
Has anyone got this setup and if so what screen are you using?
it all depends on if you want to be able to use the new "multi-touch" features, if you do you will be very limited to the screens you can buy.http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/27637-touch-screen.html
