I have a Toshiba Satellite L750 laptop. Works fine for sometime and then the orange LED lights start blinking and then the battery stops charging and laptop shuts down once the battery drains. When I notice the blinking orange LED light if I remove the power cord and reconnect, then I dont have the problem for some time and then reappears. When the orange light blinks the Toshiba PC health monitor shows 0% system power consumption, Battery condition good. I don't think its a problem with the battery because I already bought one. Can anyone help me solve this problem?https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?93824-Satellite-L750-battery-stopped-charging
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I just bought a new battery for my Toshiba Satellite s70-a-10c as my previous one stopped charging.
The new battery charges but won't go about 70%. Can anyone help?
For some reason I can't edit my post to correct a typo and add this screenshot so I'll post it here. It has gone upto 71% now but it always says something like "1 minute till fully charged" but it won't ever be that quick.https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?89694-Satellite-S70-a-10c-new-battery-not-charging-about-70
When I put the mouse on the batery symbol right down, appears a message: "Batery 8% available(connected and no charging)", but my ac adapter is connected.
Sometimes it charges, sometimes it doesn't. I've tried disable and enable Devices admin/bateries/Microsoft CA Adapter and Devices admin/bateries/Baterie with control method...ACPI of Microsoft. But the problem persists. When I get the batery charging it only arrives to 70-80%.
I have purchased a brand new Toshiba Satellite S50-B. The first time I charged the battery I had no problems.
The second time, it doesn't charge at all.
What happen when you connect your notebook to the AC adapter?
Is the power symbol changed from battery to the AC status?
Can anyone help me, I have a satellite A500 that when plugged in works but when I unplug it it immediately switches off and yet it says their is battery power which is depleting.
I have tried holding down the power button with no battery in then switching it on and replacing the battery.
The help screen on Toshiba says use PC battery health check but it is not on the laptop.
All this has seemed to have started since updated to windows 10
Is anyone able to help.

What to say; the coffe has been spilled on the notebook and any fluid is not really good for a internal parts especially for the motherboard.
I have no idea what part has been damaged exactly due to the spilled coffee but it looks like an motherboard part is affected. Maybe the power supply electronic is faulty?
I think the notebook needs an check? and don?t ask any pseudo amateur technicians because such guys just talk about possible issues.
The unit needs to be checked by an professional technician (Toshiba authorized service partner in your country) who has some special tools and diagnosis software.
Hoping to get this solved quickly because it has turned my laptop into a desktop computer Everything was working fine until one day my battery decided to stop charging It says quot available plugged in charging quot and sometimes it says the same but quot not charging quot I have to have the AC adapter plugged in for it to power on I went in to Best Buy to hopefully get it fixed but my warranty doesn't cover battery replacements They refused to help me out I don't even believe that it needs to be totally replaced because it literally was working perfectly holding charge took hours to drain only a year and a half old until one day it magically wasn't Some other forums suggested I should remove the battery hold down the power button for seconds and put it back in This old battery year charging. a only and not and Satellite a half S50-B doesn't work I also tried removing the battery driver and trying a friend's AC adapter but neither resolved the issue I installed the free program BatteryInfoView by NirSoft to see if I can get some more info This is what came up Unfortunately I don't know what this all means Notice that some values are just blank I'm running Windows if that helps at all I'm a college student and at Satellite S50-B only a year and a half old and battery not charging. the moment I don't have the funds for a replacement battery so really ANY other suggestion would be so appreciatedhttps://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?91310-Satellite-S50-B-only-a-year-and-a-half-old-and-battery-not-charging
I have been using my Satellite Z30 mostly as a desktop till now (the charger has always been plugged in).
One day i had an option pop-up to increase the battery life (charge it only upto 80%) and i accepted the option.
However now i am going to be travelling and am unable to reset that option.
I want to charge the battery to a 100% and be able to take advantage of the longer battery life.
How can this be done? Help!!!!
I think you have changed this setting within the +Toshiba Battery Manager+.
You should disable the "Eco Charge Mode"
Maybe this Toshiba info would be helpful:

Batteries don't last forever. They are called consumables... Purchase another battery and try it
I am having issues with charging my toshiba satellite A215. When I plug in my adapter it will say charging for a few minutes and then it will say plugged in and not charging...Has anyone experienced this and can tell me what the issue could be??? Thanks
First you should check if the battery is correctly installed in the battery socket.
If it is, check if the cable is correctly plugged and that nothing is stuck in the cable port. Last, you could check if the cable is broken.
If none of these, i'm sorry, i can't help you.
I've found a number of threads with similar issues, but none of the solutions worked for me, so here it goes:
I have an L500-1GE, which is about 6 years old, but hasn't been used much.
Since yesterday, it won't charge when plugged in, and when I pull the plug, it immediately shuts down (everything goes black suddenly), although it shows the battery to have about 25% power.
I have just installed the newest bios (2.10) from Toshiba's official site, but I don't know if this has anything to do with the aforementioned issue.
Should I just buy a new battery, or is there something to try before that?
My laptop is a Satellite M70-165 PSM70E. I'm using Windows XP Home. I recently bought a new battery and it is impossible to charge it above 50%. I updated BIOS to 1.70 (for non Windows Vista users) and I still have the problems aforementioned. I tried to dischage it completely and charge it again, several times, with no luck.
Is there any solution?
One more question. There is no "EC version" in BIOS, only "BIOS version 1.70". I hoped there will be some battery calibration or power management after BIOS update, but there is no "Power Management" menu in BIOS.
Is that correct?
Thanks in advance.
> recently bought a new battery and it is impossible to charge it above 50%
In my opinion the new battery is not OK.
You should definitely check another new battery? maybe you bought an already used battery???
>One more question. There is no "EC version" in BIOS, only "BIOS version 1.70".
On the Toshiba EU driver page you can find one BIOS update.
I assume such update contain the EC update too.
Hi I just recieved my Satelite Click Mini a few days ago and there seems to be an issue with the battery in the keyboard When I received issues L9W-B - Mini Click Battery/Charging Satellite the laptop I fully charged it and all was fine I have been using the laptop frequently and noticed today that the main battery was down to I assumed that the power would revert to the nd battery but it did not and shut down I then recharged and powered it up however the charging seemed to stall at about After checking the forums I thought that a bios update to would solve this however it has not and other issues have flagged up The first battery charges very slowly and seems to stall at the second battery is showing at zero percent before update it was at it also states that its plugged in and not charging Also and i don't know if this is linked but I found it extremely hard to type in this forum as the screen is flickering and I have to wait after pressing each key I have had to post this on another laptop Any help would be appreciated I am worried this laptop needs to go back to the factory Many thanks Richard Waldman
There have been a few ideas thrown around here in the forum. Easiest thing to try at this time would be to leave the tablet AND keyboard plugged into the wall to charge overnight. If the notification centre is still showing that it's not charging you might have to try a (maybe several) cold reboot (hold down the power button for 5-10 secs while tablet is on) to try to fix it. I would also ensure that Windows Update is up to date.
I'd just like to pitch in just for sharing's sake that BIOS update 1.70 increased my batttery life immensely. I was having to charge the tablet every night, now I can go every other night.
My laptop got quot reset quot by a Virus removal tool called AdwCleaner last week WARNING - NEVER run this on your laptop - if software not Satellite after charging re-installation Pro S300-11H: Battery could ruin your life Anyway the upshot of it was I had to take it to a repair shop where they were unable to restore the Windows XP I had been using since I got the machine and so they Satellite Pro S300-11H: Battery not charging after software re-installation had to re-install the original Windows Vista which was the OS when I bought it I bought a quot downgrade quot to XP disc with the laptop Before that happened the battery charging and everything worked fine but since I got my laptop back from the shop the battery does not charge When I hover over the battery icon bottom-right it says quot available battery not charging quot The battery is installed OK because if I unplug the power lead the laptop stays on Is there some setting somewhere which is telling the machine not to charge the battery How do I get it back to normal Cheers Mark Full Model Satellite Pro S - H Message was edited by KasinoKing - typo in title
I?m wondering if the guys installed all the Toshiba Vista drivers which are released on Toshiba EU driver page.
I?m thinking especially about the software and tools like Value Added Package
I would recommend you also to check the device manager.
In device manager expand the battery area.
Here you should firstly uninstall the
-Microsoft ACPI compliant control method battery
-Microsoft AC adaptor
-Microsoft composite battery
Then reboot the notebook.
Check how the battery charge process would work
In case the new hardware would be found (these would be the three devices uninstalled from device manager) wait until the system has installed the driver, reboot once again and check the charging

Hi Guys I have always had fairly good battery life out of my month old laptop but suddenly it is saying quot Plugged In plugged Good not 0%. Satellite health L50D-B battery in, charging Not Charging quot The second I unplug the power cord it switches off needs to completely restart when plugged back in I have used the Toshiba PC Health software and it says my battery has good health I have ordered a new charger online Waiting on it to arrive But I suspect it is more of a software issue - I just don't know WHAT Can anyone help out My computer took it upon itself to update to Windows this week but this was happening prior to that but now I am dumbfounded on where to even find anything on this dumb system and my head is going to explode Replacing the battery is not an option Satellite L50D-B plugged in, not charging 0%. Good battery health due to funds - i'll deal with that if I have to down the track So anyway in the meantime can someone please recommend something I can do I have read through the forum and through google but the sudden upgrade to windows has made it really difficult and used all my mobile data making it an expensive unwanted upgradehttps://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?92180-Satellite-L50D-B-plugged-in-not-charging-0-Good-battery-health
Hi, I've bought the Click Mini and have been setting it up for my personal use today. However I noticed the keyboard battery isn't charging. I have upgraded the bios to version 1.7. What I see now is that the Tablet is charged, which is good, but the keyboard is 'charging' according to windows, but it also only stays at 0%, thus not charging for real. I do also hear a high pitched noise coming from the keyboard when it is trying to charge. I have only tried to let it charge while it is in sleep mode so far. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Edit: Another thing I want to add: When I first opened the box containing the laptop, I had to completely charge it first before use. It was not possible to start the laptop without charging it first.
ok, nevermind. I've left it charging overnight and it seems to be ok now.
The Keyboardbattery seems to be completely charged now

Hi, did you received an answer for your problem?
i have the same problem, the kayboard dosn?t charge
hope for your reply
To help work out how widespread is the issue of the non-charging of the keyboard battery on the Click Mini, let's do a quick poll. Please note your OS and BIOS version and we can see who can and who can't make this charge.
To start us off...
No, it doesn't charge at all.
OS: Windows 10

My laptop fell to the ground. HDD was damaged. No bootable.
I only could recover HDD recovery folder from L: (partition recovery). Did a copy of HDD recovery folder on another PC and then the HDD was completely unreadable
I do not have recovery discs.
How can I recover OS from HDDrecovery folder ? (Already bought new HDD)
Thanks for your help
Unfortunately you cannot start recovery image installation from folder. It works a bit different.
All you can try is to read http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm and check if you can somehow create recovery media following the instructions described there.
I now need to buy a new internal HDD for my laptop and would like to buy one which is at least 1TB. What is the maximum capacity drive that I can buy for this laptop and are there any restrictions on manufacturers/makes that I should buy? Are there any good internet sources for this?
Also I would imagine that most laptop HDDs are SATA now.
Many thanks for any advice.
No one answered this in 2015. Does anyone know the answer please?
Is a 1TB SATA HDD good for my model of laptop (Satellite L750-16Z)? Can I get an even larger drive? Is SATA the right one?
Hello, i watch/read thousand video"s/forums about how to factory reset in Toshiba Satellite L750-115. Everywhere i found only "press 0 while starting". But it didnt working for me. When i try to get help on toshiba support website i can even search my laptop.
If anyone can help me it will be very nice...
Generally speaking you have two options:
Either you would use the HDD recovery option to recover the notebook back to factory settings, or you would use the Toshiba recovery medium (disk or USB stick) which must be created using the Toshiba recovery media creator software.
But this medium should be created as long as the notebook works properly…
Did you create such medium in the past?
If not, you could use the HDD recovery option BUT ONLY if HDD and partitions are not affected!
I assume the Windows 7 was preinstalled on your notebook.
Well, in such case power up the unit and press F8
Then you should get Advanced Boot menu… here choose: repair my computer….
Then Toshiba HDD recovery.
If this isn’t possible, the HDD recovery isn’t possible and only way to recovery the notebook is the usage of recovery disk…
As mentioned, if you don’t own the disk, you could try to order such medium here:
I'm trying to activate the wifi on my Satellite L750 -V16 after reinstalling Windows 10. When I try to do it using the wifi configuration it fails: Even though I set it "on" the wifi lamp at the front of the laptop remains red and in the short-menu on the right bottom of the display it shows that the wifi is switched off.
I've already googled a lot and found that I need to active the wifi using the FN-key + F8. Unfortunately I cannot install the neccesary "Toshiba Value Added Package" with the utility for the shortcuts. When I start the setup, I get "Setup TVAP error. [0x8145030B]".
Before I've used the laptop with windows 7 and later with windows 10. It's the first time that I've reinstalled it. I've installed the driver for "Qualcomm Atheros AR9002WB-1NG Wireless NEtwork Adapter".
Thanks a lot,
Hi have a Toshiba Satellite L750 with a 1366x768 screen, the GPU is a Intel HD Graphics 2000 (device id 0106).
The max resolution should be 2560x1600 according to https://software.intel.com/en-us/art...cs-hd-graphics
Yet when I try with a 1920x1080 screen it looks as if all green pixels are on max all the time.
I wrote a page about it here: http://www.emagnusandersson.com/lapt...n_upgrade_fail
The reseller of the 1920x1080 screen says that the screen is OK.
The reseller of the 1920x1080 screen says that the screen is OK.
What shall I say: maybe the reseller isn’t right… could be interesting to know if another screen would work properly …
Hello everyone .. I have a Toshiba Satellite L750-17P, for some days now, when I turn on the PC, after the logo toshiba I get the loading screen and the window ms dos with the inscription: system32 / drvload.exe
ms-dos screen remains blank and the computer does not load .. could you help me ??
Are you able to repair the system using the Windows own repair options?
I guess you use Win 7 as this system was preinstalled by Toshiba.
Power up the unit and press F8. Here you should choose the first option called ?repair my Computer?.
Now you should be able to choose between several options. I think you should try the first option which allows you to repair the system automatically.
If this option does not help, try to set the system to the last good working configuration/state
I have had a complete HDD crash on a satellite L750. (way out of warranty)
I have replaced the HDD with an SSD. I can't access the recovery drive and have long since lost the recovery CD. When I try to download windows from Micros**t with the windows key it tells me its OEM (of course) and to contact Toshiba.
I just want to create a windows 7 bootable USB so I can reinstall the OS using the licence I paid for.
this laptop has been awful and unreliable suffering many crashes and moments where i have to go through the services and self troubleshoot what one is causing the problem the main problem now is that the internet doesnt work i have tried in safe mode with networking and the same problem my wireless adapter shows up as the atheros ar wb- ng when i log in i see an icon of satellite not l750 working Toshiba internet a monitor with an excalamation mark next to it which says no network acces when i click it i'm sending this from my ipod so its not a problem with my connection when i tried to reinstall the wlan driver from the toshiba site win bit it comes up with a message when i run the setup saying that i cant copy a file to Toshiba satellite l750 internet not working a destination i tried changing the setup location and running as admin neither worked please help me as this happened so suddenly- it was fine last night and i woke Toshiba satellite l750 internet not working up this morning and it didnt work

Hi all, first of all sorry my bad english. Now, I have one question, can I change my Graphic target from my Notebook Satellite L750-1KU (PSK2YE-0JY00CCE)? thanks.
Installed 10 yesterday and immediately lost my wireless connection. Solved that by rolling back Wireless Network Adapter driver in Device Manager.
Second problem - no sound from internal speaker, but Device Manager reports no problems with Sound Controller...
'My Toshiba' app reports L750 not supported for Windows 10 ???
Can anyone help to solve the sound problem please?
Forgot to mention:
Upgraded from problem free Windows 7 Home edition
Checked 'FN-F8' not muted, and System tray icon not muted.
'Troubleshoot Sound Problems' detects no problems...
Can someone please advise when Toshiba will be releasing Windows 10 driver updates for the Satellite L750. I cannot see this model listed in the devices eligible for the Windows 10 upgrades so does this mean Toshiba are declaring the Satellite L750's obsolete?
Would appreciate any information on this subject.
This notebook isn’t listed here:
Models not listed do not support an upgrade to Windows 10.
Unfortunately; this means that Win 10 drivers will not be released for this unit
Hi everyone, i got notebook that have dead motherboard.
Toshiba Satellite L750
Part no: PSK2YA-0T902V
DC 19V- 4.74A
motherboard no: A000081570 ZB316754W
i checked online and there are many mobos with like A000081450, A000082100, A000080830 and about 10-20 different ones.
All of them saying they are meant for Toshiba Satellite L750 L755!
These are different numbers to suggest that they have different configuration related to GPU and VRAM or their brand like NVIDA or AMD types, i guess.
My question, are they all meant to fit physically in all Toshiba Satellite L750 ?? have any one got experience of such mobo replacement with another board.
Will appreciate if someone can offer me any advice, as exactly same mobo not available for me, so i am thinking to put another similar one.
i have with the function keys is
1. when i install the function key driver the airplane mode on/off works ok but the red indicator led light doesn't turn on/off.
2. if i remove the function key driver the red indicator led light works but fn+f8 doesn't turn although the wifi turns on/off windows doesn't recognize off as airplane mode. but the WiFi is always on after restart, wake from sleep or booting regardless of the status before shutdown or sleep so if it was shut down when wifi was off on starting next time the wifi will be on with indicator led off and sometimes it turn WiFi on automatically after few minutes even if turn it off
i have a dual boot windows 7 so in case of the first the indicator doesn't work in windows 7 as well and in case of the second it works fine. so is there a way to fix this?
So simply said: the Win 7 is OK but the LED does not go OFF using Win 8.
Did you install the drivers using the Toshiba Win 8 upgrade Assistant or did you install all these drivers manually?
sometimes my l750 shutdown automaticaly (as if i removed the AC adaptor) and power indicator and Battery indicator both start bliking in amber but DC IN indicator still white and this while the battery is not connected to my pc
i saw this case one time when the battery was connected and AC adaptor too, the same indicators are blinking and DC IN still white but the system still working and the pc don't shutdown. and when i shutdown the os, only power indicator still blinking in slow rythme.
Note: since a good time i have a problem in AC adaptor cable, and i'm forced to plug it in way so the cable don't move and try to not touch or move the cable to not cut the energy source. i think it's breaked at some point inside the cable.
Sounds like a hardware issue, maybe mainboard or DC cable.
An ASP can repair it.

This is how it work in Win 8
>2. bluetooth drivers: i couldn't find driver for this laptop so i used atheros bleutooth filter of another B series toshiba laptop which comes with windows 8 and bluetooth driver. now its working.
Yes, some Win 7 drivers works in connection with Win 8
>3. computer turns on when opening lid even if its shut down or hibernated. installed toshiba hardware driver i saw an option to turn on pc when opening lid tried both on/off no change
Here you should perform a complete shutdown in Windows 8
In Windows 8, when shutting down a computer, actually a hybrid shutdown is performed by default.
More details here:
On starting the laptop, no access past named user screen unless in safe mode. Hit user name the screen goes black.
All ideas appreciated, wife has an essay to do for college this week!
Your posting is pretty confusing and I don?t understand what happen exactly. If I understand you right you cannot use Windows but you have full access in safe mode. Is this correct?
Anyway try follow: start Windows in safe mode and try to roll back OS to earlier time using system restore tool. Do it at first step, check what happen and post some feedback.
After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, Wifi internet not working. Wifi not recognised. Seems that the driver for wifi does not work with windows 10. Any ideas please?
it seems like driver problem. you should installed WiFi driver for window 10.
I upgraded to Windows 8, after a short while I found the DVD wasn't displayed in windows explorer and devices. I had seen this before on another laptop and installing the Win 8 SATA drivers seemed to cure it.
I have gone to the driver section on the Toshiba site for this model and there are none for SATA. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a fix or the Win 8 SATA drivers for this model please?

*Why does my CD/DVD Drive not work after upgrading to Windows 8?*
You will need to uninstall the Toshiba programs:
? TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator
? TOSHIBA Disc Creator
my computer satellite l750 was fallen and the screen is locked, when I press any
key the caps lock's key light get on and the num luck simultaneously
Sounds like you need a new keyboard, at least.
Try turning on the screen with the Fn keys and I think it's Fn4 or Fn5 along the top.
I have 1 laptop Satellite L750, and windows service audio crash randomly.
I have two windows 7 install, reinstall all sound driver repeatedly, but same problems.
For me this issue looks more like Microsoft Windows system issue (probably sound driver) and therefore I recommend you to check the MS support community for possible solutions.
I found this interesting post in the MS forum:
[Windows Audio Related Crashes|http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-pictures/windows-audio-related-crashes/49a3634b-6dfe-4208-9c22-c8be6242b2ac]
According to the 2nd post, the sound driver reinstallation should fix such issues.
In case this workaround would not fix the sound audio problems, I recommend roll back the system to the early point before this issue started to occur.
In worst case you would need to recover the notebook using recovery disk but I guess you should try the workarounds recommended by MS
I now have an attractive thin red brick
What to do to fix apart from this scary stuff?
note the new hdd password is ok

I guess this should help to solve your problem since it seems to be known MS system issue:
Check the Microsoft knowledge base article:
[You receive a "The User Profile Service failed the logon? error message|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215/en-us]
I upgraded my Toshiba L750-A-210 laptop (short number: PSK2YV) to windows 8.1 pro from win 7.
but now windows crashes on every restart and i cannot log in to the system, also i cant recover because i deleted the recovery partition in order to install the windows 8 but i have it on another hard disk.
*do you have any ideas about resolving this issue.*
I read some threads on the web and apparently it's a compatibility problem with the Qualcomm wireless adapter also toshiba site says my laptop model is not supported for 8 upgrade.
I just want to get my laptop back to win 7
P.S windows shows this error: system_thread_exception_not_handled (athwbx.sys)
my laptop specs:
The athwbx.sys belongs to the Atheros driver? It looks that the installed Atheros Wlan driver isn?t fully compatible by the Windows 8.1 system.
You could try to remove / uninstall the driver in order to solve this issue.
If you did not create the recover disk in the past then you will not be able to recovery the notebook back to factory settings? to Win 7
I guess you will need to order the recovery medium from Toshiba in case you want to use the Win 7 again.
By the way: your notebook model has been released in USA? So you should check the Toshiba USA forum and support page for driver update.
By the way; here is an forum thread about the similar issue:
Now I'm getting the TAIS with the yellow exclamation mark under Devices and Printers option. What could be causing this? There was no error in Device Manager.
What do you mean by TAIS?
Can you add more details about this device: for example device ID (DEV ID) and vendor ID (VEN ID)?
This would help to find out what device this could be
I have a Satellite L750 which was originally installed with Windows 7 and have recently installed Windows 10
. The PC is stating that "System Thread Exception Not Handled".
I have tried updating the display driver which did not help the problem.
Try to uninstall the graphic card driver from the device manager and reboot the notebook.
After the reboot, go to device manager again and choose the graphic card.
Then let Windows search for the new GPU driver.
I am having a problem with my laptop computer. I figured out that my laptop, when being charged or using the Power Outlet, runs at 100% CPU at times, and slows me down when running and working on some open applications. At first I thought I had tons of spyware or even a virus, and even posted a Hijackthis file here. Nothing was found.
I figured out that my cpu runs at 100% when using the power outlet, or when my computer is chargnig. When I unplug the powercord and use the battery life, everything runs GREAT!!!!! my cpu drops to a normal 4-8% usage with multiple applications running. WEIRD huh? Can anyone relate to this ?? Is this and indication that my battery is going bad???? Can someone help me with this or suggest what is going on? I am running windows XP home edition, and have a compac presario 1500 series. For some time have received the error message regarding under power smart adaptor with newer replacement HP adaptor matching original. Battery icon lists % charge & "not charging". Battery tests good in HP Support Assistant battery check. Power adaptor will power my older Pavillion laptop but not the Envy with or without battery installed. Battery charging LED does not light. Have tried re-calibration by deleting Microsoft devices in Device Manager. Envy will operate with and without battery while using Dell power adaptor. Computer repair shop says Smart adaptor produces 0 voltage (even though it powers Pavillion) and I need a new battery (even though diagnostic test indicates good). Help!!!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-OK-not-charging-no-charging-LED-replacement-Smart/td-p/5748345

I have a dell xps 12, bought in 2012. Recently the battery stopped charging. The battery shows 0%, so I have to be plugged in to turn the laptop on. When it is on, the battery icon on the task bar says "plugged in, charging" but after a day it is still 0%.
Since then I bought a new battery. Just fitted it, but now the battery icon on the task bar says "plugged in, not charging". Furthermore, when I Fn+F3 to show the battery meter, it says "battery charging diabled". There is no option here to turn battery charging on. Nor is there an option to enable battery charging in BIOS.
BIOS does show battery performing normally, so does the battery meter (Fn+F3). BIOS also shows AC adapter as 45W, which is the original adapter.
Any help is appreciated!
I've had my HP Envy laptop for about 3 months, and yesterday I noticed that when it was plugged in it wasn't charging (the battery icon says "plugged in, not charging"). I turned it off overnight, plugged in, and this morning the battery was fully charged. It only seems to not charge when it is turned on. I have tried removing the battery, turning on, deleting the ACPI-compliant control method battery, turning off, and turning back on again (as advised in other forum responses), but with no joy. At first I thought it could either be a battery issue, but the fact it fully charged overnight whilst off would lead me to believe it's not, and is probably a software / settings issue. Any ideas please, I've run out of google search ideas!!

Hey @EnigmaDimirti, Welcome to the forums. I'm here to help. I would strongly suggest Testing and Calibrating the Battery. Should that not solve the issue, I would suggest calling in for support to see about replacing the battery, as it should not be displaying "no battery is pluged in" when you run a battery check. I have just replaced my CMOS/BIOS battery today, as , I have faced some critical problem regarding regular BIOS date/time reset after system shutdown. But I want to know how do i recognize, that my new batter is totally ok or functional.
Battery Meter gadget shows that "battery Not charging"
Is it a gadget problem?
Is there any method available so that I can track that my new installed CMOS battery in PC is working fine?
Please help me.
The battery you have replaced is solely there to maintain the clock and other BIOS settings (if you have changed them from their defaults). It will not prevent you from booting your system if it is dead/missing; all it means is that you will have to enter the BIOS each time and make the correct settings and time. This battery is not rechargeable.
Do you still have to enter the correct time, or is the BIOS maintaining this now you've changed the battery?
Laptop will only charge to a max of 86%. Battery test indicates OK. After recalibrating batterythe max charge was reduced to 76%. Will a new battery solve this or could this be something more die?If new battery is necessary, can HP provide it or am I forced to go to 3rd party supplier?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-not-fully-charging-but-passes-HP-battery-test/td-p/5777397
I am becoming more and more concerned about my laptop's battery each and every passing day. When I check the bottom right of my computer screen to check if my computer battery is completely charged, it says "0% available (plugged in, not charging)". I have had to buy two new batteries because of the same thing and they also read "0% available (plugged in, not charging)". When I unplug my laptop from the power source, it turns off automatically. I cannot even bother calling Dell to check this issue for me because I bought this computer off the street for $35.
My question in general is how do I get this problem fixed and how do I keep an eye on how my laptop computer charges correctly (or not)???
Some reading and testing for you

I have Toshiba satellite model C875?7304. The battery indicator on the desktop says that it's charging but the percentage is depleting. This is on a brand-new battery that came with 67% full and a new adapter. When the laptop is off the LED indicator in the front is lit like the battery is charging. However it is not. After leaving it plugged in for a few hours the percentage was the same as when I turned it off. Also the adapter wasn't warm at all. I've tried all Toshibas recommendations removing all power from the laptop and holding the power button down for 30 seconds to a minute. Also removing the battery for the bios and reinserting it. Still that hasn't worked. I removed the laptop battery and the laptop will not power on using AC power only. It's almost like the laptop is only using battery power and the adapter is not charging the battery or keeping the laptop on. Laptops only about a year old. Any suggestions anyone?
As the laptop's only a year old the original battery should be fine and not need replacing. Also if it won't run from the AC power only something is wrong. Look for your receipt and if it's still under guarantee take the laptop back.
Client's relatively new Yoga 500 is exhibiting a weird problem in Windows 10 anniversary edition. The battery is currently at 47% but keeps flickering between charging and not charging. The icon changes every second, possibly faster. Tried swapping power supplies so it's not that. When first reported, the battery was at 40% but then got to 47% during a reboot. The battery on the Yoga 500 is internal so not possible to try swapping batteries. For a few months now at some point my battery would indicate nn plugged in Battery not plugged in, unaccessable battery charging AND not charging and would maintain that charge as long as it was plugged in Running on the battery the charge would eventually diminish and in order to get the battery to charge again I have gone through to process of uninstalling the ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery in Device Manager Usually within Battery plugged in, not charging AND battery unaccessable hours things would revert back to plugged in not charging However that is no longer remedying the problem When this was Battery plugged in, not charging AND battery unaccessable an issue the indicator light next to where the AC Adaptor plugs in would flash blue Also I upgraded from Win to a few weeks ago but this issue has been occurring for a few months now nbsp Now the battery reads plugged in not charging and when I use the HP Support Assistant to check the battery I get the message HP Battery Check was unable to access the battery I have performed a hard reset reset Battery plugged in, not charging AND battery unaccessable the BIOS and updated the BIOS all nbsp to no avail If I unplug the adaptor the computer shuts off nbsp Any suggestions for additional fixes I have seen one additional suggestion to do a system recovery but I have not yet made a recovery disk for win I do have one for the win and would it make any difference anyway since the plugged in not charging problem was occurring under winhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Battery-plugged-in-not-charging-AND-battery-unaccessable/td-p/5718067

I know that a battery not holding a charge can sometimes be a motherboard problem, I don't want to spend the extra $50 on a new battery if it is the motherboard. Is there any way to decipher which one is the culprit.

Hi! i have an Hp eliteBook 8560p and when the battery is plug it shows me this thing Battery #1:1% available(plugged in,not charging) Battery #2:Not present what are my to do to resolve this?please help
How old is the battery? You do not have a Battery #2 more than likely. That would be the optional modular battery not the regular main battery.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-1-1-available-plugged-in-not-charging-Battery-2-Not/td-p/5808654
My Dell inspiron 3542 laptop had a very good battery life(>6 hours), but today morning it showed an error message saying "Battery has experienced permanent failure and needs to be replaced." I updated the BIOS from A3 to A10, but it didn't help! The PC starts only if its plugged in and the battery charge is constant at 82%. What should I do?
It's quite possible your battery did suffer a failure; the Lithium-Ion chemical reaction may (which produces electricity) have finally broken down.
First thing to try is to run Dell's diagnostics. When you first power it on, press F2 to run the ePSA Diagnostics & see if any failures occurred.
Have you tried powering the laptop on with the power cord and battery, then once it's loaded removing the power cord to see if it stays on?
Another thing to try: remove the power cord & battery from the laptop, then hold the power button down for about 10 seconds. Then reconnect the power cord, power it on, then reconnect the battery.
From here, once it's on, you can try removing the battery again to see if it stays powered on or leave the cord connected to see if the battery begins charging.
Hope this helps!
I am new at this stuff and I seek help from all those who can give it. Ok so my first charger stopped working and I bought a new charger. The charger worked great for a few months after purchase. Until one day the charger stopped charging on and off. I unplugged it a few times and then it stopped working. I let the battery die after. I am guessing that it stopped working because i may have screwed up the charger socket by tripping on the cord thus pulling on it im not really sure anymore. The laptop is in a bad condition, it's four years old i think but it can still run. The battery is the same not change. HELP ME for I am an *****
You probably broke the internal AC adapter socket. It can be repaired, but you will have to take it in for service

Hi, I need some help with my Laptop. For some reason, my charger works for another computer, but it won't work for mine. However, other chargers work for my laptop. It is a Dell Inspiron e1405, and Dell support refuses to give me help because it is out of warranty. Maybe someone can help me here.
If it was only one or the other, I'd say it was the power jack soldered to the system board where the power module plugs into. Does the connection feel the same whether you plug in yours or the other? ie. plug nice and tight?http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/200937/battery-charging/
actually my hp notebook battery is not charging up to 100% and drains very fast and shut down at 30% without any notification
Prab. Power-on laptop then start tapping ESC. Go to System Diagnostics and run the battery test. REOhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/battery-not-charging-to-100/td-p/5641789
I own a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4757 laptop, and when I plug in, the battery light comes on indicating it is charging. After 3 or so seconds, the light turns off. At first I thought it was just something wrong with the light, but when I turned the laptop on, the battery says "Plugged in, not charging" It has never done this before. Any suggestions?
Two possibilities - bad charger or bad battery. Hope for a bad charger, when is relatively cheap to replace. The cost of notebook batteries are outrageous. Also, see if there is a break in the charger wire by rotating the wire. If the light goes off and on, it's a break.http://www.vistax64.com/general-discussion/257120-battery-not-charging.html
Hi I ve been using my Dell Inspiron carefully for the past months and not Battery Charging have a persistent problem for the last months Whenever I turn on plug in or awaken my laptop I am now receiving the nbsp quot The AC power adapter type cannot be determined Your system will operate slower and the battery will not charge quot message along with the BIOS message and quot the plugged in not charging quot message Battery not Charging Although the battery is not charging the laptop is still working fine otherwise when plugged in It currently has lt battery left and also seems to be operating as normal when not plugged in As the battery will soon deplete I am essentially using my laptop as a desktop and am requiring it to be plugged in constantly Some things I have tried so far amp other notes Cleaning dusting reconnecting removing the adapter and moving it around a bit etc The Dell AC adapter is working fine - the blue indicator light is working The laptop works when plugged in and there is no battery inserted The same issue occurs on multiple plug sockets around my house The same issue occurs when using a replacement Battery not Charging new AC adapter Cleaning dusting reconnecting removing the battery and moving it around a bit etc Dell battery meter says quot Your battery is performing normally quot No problems have been detected when using the Diagnostic tools for hardware Update BIOS is fully updated AC Adapter is listed as Unknown on BIOS Uninstall re-install battery driver I have yet to buy a new battery due to the price amp as I am unsure whether this is actually a battery issue as I am seeing similar problems listed here Please help
If the system is under warranty, call Dell for repair. If not, first try a new OEM Dell AC adapter. If that doesn't get the system to recognize the adapter, replace the DC power jack next:
And if that doesn't do it, replace the mainboard.
Without a recognized AC adapter, the battery will not charge (though the system will run).
Battery Not Charging Got a New battery still not charging tried testing the battery with hp support system it say battery is ok but its still not charging.
Sometimes Windows says ¨battery no charge¨ but it?s a windows power state error, you could also try to update your BIOS first, also perform a Reset to your unit (remove adapter and battery then press and hold the power button for 30/60 seconds)http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-Not-Charging/td-p/5625979

I have Alienware 14 laptop. I keep getting a message that my battery is not charging when I plug in the laptop. I run system test through Alienware Support Assist and the result was " Warning the battery is not charging to full capacity. This is normal as batteries age." My laptop is under warranty. Can you help me fix this problem please?!

Tried to update my BIOS but there's no update for my windows 10. Tried to reset my unit by holding down the power button foe 30/60 seconds, but that didn't work. Also did a battery check on my old battery and my new battery with HP Support Assisant and by reatarting and pressing the f2 button. It said that the battery is good. Then I Checked the power cord where it plugs into the computer and the pin inside the plug is in good shape but the battery's still not charging. With the old battery it charge when it got to under 10% then it would upto 10% and stop charging afther that.New battery had about 77% charde on it now it has about 74%. Computer will run with the buttery out but with the power adapter in
You can try to Press F2 button at the power up and run a Battery test.If the test passes it may mean that the Battery is OK. For a BIOS update, try to check the same for windows 8.1 and see if there is an update available. The OS would not matter as long as it is a BIOS update as these are made for all the supported OS versions.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-Not-Charging/td-p/5626759
My laptop is not charging eventhough it shows that it is connected to AC and my battery is running down fast. the connections are oks. Any solution?
Hi, This may be worth trying. First of all, shutdown the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter unplugged, remove the battery, and then hold down the Power button for a full minute. Now, plug in the AC Adapter and start the PC without the battery inserted, start the notebook, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager, expand the entry for Batteries, right click on and the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and select Uninstall - do not uninstall anything else here. When the uninstall is complete, shut the PC down, unplug the AC Adapter, re-insert the battery and then start the PC on just the battery. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver - leave Windows running for a few minutes. Shutdown the PC again. Now plug in the AC Adapter ( with the battery still inserted ) and start the PC to see if the battery now charges correctly. Best wishes, DP-Khttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Battery-is-Not-Charging/td-p/496787
The battery is not charging at any time.it is showing 0% charging when it is plugged in.when i remove the adapter from the supply pc dies there itself. When ever i plug the laptop into the supply, in the beging the indication near the leftside charger socket shows orange colur for some seconds and it will turn to white colour and it is blinking .when i did battery diagnosis, the result was 'unknown'.The battery indication on the screen shows that it is plugged in but no indication of charging.Kindly please help me out from this issue. I have a new Z - with Win pre-installed on it and the battery in it only charges up to I read that this is supposed to prolong the battery life A number of posts indicated that this behaviour could be changed via the lenovo energy manager LEM but the only SW for the z - on the lenovo downloads site under LEM is a MB file called acpidriver exe When executing the program there is no indication or sign of anything being installed so I have no idea what it does to 60% Battery charging only The only other program that I found was Battery Gauge but that doesn't have any options for changing the charging limit Does anyone know how to reset charging to allow for a full charge Battery only charging to 60% nbsp Battery only charging to 60% Thanks for any infos nbsp nbsp Edit When checking the battery status via the Lenovo Settings App I always saw the status portion in the GUI and assumed that was it I just looked again and noticed a very small gray scrollbar on the right It always looked like there was nothing to scroll and I happend to click on the white portion and to my surprise there is a section below that that has exactly that option to stop charging between - I will turn it off and see if I can get a full charge out of it nbsp nbsp Edit Managed to get a full charge by turning off the Conservation Mode option nbsp
I also have this problem, my laptop is z40-75 80DW. I've installed Windows 10 Pro Anniversary edition 64bit, and I've installed ACPI driver version 188.8.131.52-20150824. I can not find the Lenovo Applications, or OneKey Optimizer, or Power Manager.https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Battery-only-charging-to-60/td-p/2215449
I recently installed a new battery in my Dell Latitude D610. I received instructions to upgrade the BIOS but forgot to do it. When I used battery power it ran down and I plugged in AC power. I saw it was down to 6% and would not charge. I tried to update BIOS now but it requires 10% power. What can I do?
Try running the old battery again, or try running with no battery at all.
Have you visually compared the batteries to make sure they are both exact?
Battery Stopped charging. Tried different charger with same indication. No LED with charger pluged in. Computer worked until battery dies. Tried different plug and charger.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Battery-not-charging/td-p/5814585
i have compaq evo n1020v laptop. my os is windows xp sp3. i have 1 gig of ram . i got my new battery today 8/18/2010.it is the oem battery for this unit. after installing the battery it charge for 10 min. then the battery light started to blinking a orange color.i have to remove the battery and then reinsert it in the computer.at this rate i will be dead before it is finish.
make sure your power adapter is plugged in tight and the power scheme in the System Tray of the computer when it is in Windows, says that it is not using battery but the Power Adapter. You might try plugging the power adapter into the wall socket directly instead of a surge protector. If that fails then your adapter is bad or the connector to the motherboard is.http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/charging-a-new-battery-507282.html
