Hi, I am reinstalling my drivers for the hp dv6-2173cl laptop. This laptop has both LAN and WiFi cards. I looked at the driver listing for this model and I see that for the WIFI drivers HP has:Atheros and Broadcom drivers available. I let Windows Update decide and it installed an Intel WiFi Link driver that is not even listed on the HP's website. IDo I need to install either Atheros or Boardcom WiFi Driver for this model? I am worried that perhaps the Intel driver is a generic driver that makes the card work but does not optimize its performance as the dedicated drivers do. How do I tell wHich brand for the wifi card I have? Thanks,http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/What-the-network-card-drivers-for-the-LAN-and-WiFi-for-HP/td-p/5778772
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Here are few things which needs attention:1. What browser are you using.2. What website are you trying to browse.3. What type of connection are you using.4. Are you connected to the right connection.5. Are you browsing through Proxy or Firewall.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/hp-250-g3-wifi-amp-network-drivers/td-p/5695353
I wanted to check for updates for my wifi card, and i went to the intel driver website.
Downloaded and installed the newest driver.
And some thing happened:
My card name was : Intel Wifi Link 1000BGN
After the driver, it changed to : Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000
In inSSIDer: before the driver update i had a max rate of 64
after the update, it becomes 156
Are all thoses things normal?

Looks normal to me, the name change is just a different name for the updated version of the driver.
I assume you are talking about the wireless speed with those numbers?
156 is very good but 300Mbps is possible with the right settings and very strong signal strength.
I need VISTA drivers for an Atheros AR5BXB63. Looked all over google but cannot find them anywhere. Also looked on the Atheros website. Still no luck. Can anyone find them and let me have the link of where you found them? Thank you

I'm trying to get the driver (as mentioned in the title [Zyxel G-302v2]) to install successfully on my Windows 7 Beta Computer. I install it and it says it is successful with the install, but the wireless manager still says there is no driver and I need to reinstall the driver. I have tried many methods (using the Disc installing the utility and without the utility and using DriverMax) however, none have worked. How do I do this?
Hi, have you tried any of these drivers G-302v2 Driver by Zyxelhttp://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/5756-zyxel-g-302v2-wifi-pci-card-drivers.html

I need some trouble shooting tips to help me figure out whats wrong First of all this is a Toshiba bad card going maybe? WIFI/Network P -S laptop Windows bit I have been having trouble with a weak wifi signal and poor connectivity Here is a test I did My back bedroom is about rooms away from my router in the back of the house In my room I have this laptop I ll call and another laptop also I ll call Both laptops used to get full bars excellent signal strength now has bars and fair strength and very poor speed and connectivity while still has a great signal and does great on speedtest net getting - Mbps download which is great If I run the speed test on it is variable from - Mbps download and sometimes looses connectivity and won t even WIFI/Network card going bad maybe? complete the test The problem has been getting worse over time If I take my lappy next to the router it is much improved but still doesn t get the speeds that it should I also tried plugging in a network cable directly into the router no wifi and it still is impaired Do I need a new wifi card in my lappy Would this effect it also when it s plugged in with a network cable P S I have already reinstalled the correct driver for the wifi and that did nothing for it nbsp
would you run xirrus and see what sort of signals you are getting please - see below
just and idea try
- try safemode with networking (sometimes wireless does not work with safemode )
For other windows version, XP,Vista, W7 as the PC starts keep tapping F8 - a menu appears - choose
safemode with networking - see if that works with better connection and speed - just in case something is interfering
It useful to know which program is controlling the wireless management, if this is a manufacturer or windows software
Try reseating the wireless adapter
If the adapter is easily accessible, usually through a cover on the bottom of the laptop.
Remove and reinsert carefully and firmly several times to cure any possible looseness or corrosion.
At the same time check to make sure the antenna leads are securely attached.
Note: This is not taking the machine apart. We do not recommend removing the keyboard when that is necessary to find the wireless.
Run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector
Download and install
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and install the program.
You will now need to take a screen shot and copy that back to the working PC and attach the screen shot in a reply on the forum here.
If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply
( the site now appears to require a business email, and does not allow webbased emails like gmail, hotmail or yahoo etc )
Use the links below
Then run and install the program - on a wireless enabled PC/Laptop
if you get an error - You will need to have NET Framework installed for the WiFi Inspector to function.
On windows 8 - (i do not have windows 8) but, it would appear that, When you first try to run, you may get a message that .net framework is needed, and included in that message is a link to download/install.
Run the program
A user guide is available here
post a screen shot of the program running.
if there are a lot of networks showing can you click on "networks" top lefthand area - so we can see all the network information.
post which SSID name is yours, its located in the list, under network "Adapter Name" (1st column)
For a reliable (or robust as the Xirrus user guide says) wireless connection you need a signal of about -70 dBm or better. "A desirable signal level for a robust Wi-Fi connection will be green".
note: the signal level is a negative number, so for example -88 is worst and -40 is better
To post a screen shot of the active window.
Hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application (Start> All Programs> Accessories> Paint) and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file.
Vista or Windows 7
you can use the "snipping tool" which is found in Start> All programs> Accessories> Snipping Tool
you can use the snipping tool > Open Snipping Tool (From the Windows 8 Start Screen, type "snip" and press enter.
>Press the Esc. key.
>go back to your Windows 8 start screen - Swipe from left or press Window Button
>Press Ctrl+Prnt... Read more
Hi Iv e been looking at a laptop recently - Dell Inspiron - At one stage it was picking up all the networks and now it won t pick up any I have done many tests which says the wireless card is functioning normally and the WIFI indicater is swiched on Fn F I have changed it from windows vista to XP and still the problem remains I m suspecting it would be that the radio signal is jamming somehow but I don t understand how it could happen Would it be something wrong with the network card even though all tests says card Network - WIFI that it is working properly Or could it be something like a driver or software that could be causing the issue even though I m after WIFI - Network card switching the Operating Systems I would like to know before I go and purchase a new network card everything seems to be working fine only for the radio part of it Thanks in advance nbsp
First, you need a way to verify the networks are available. You can't just assume a wireless network is available. So you need another PC or other hardware to verify the wireless network is working. Assuming it is working, the wireless card would appear to be faulty. As you've used two OS's, you've very likely ruled out an OS and driver issue.
what is best network card to recive a wifi signal from far away? Network Card or any type of hardware
I assume you mean desktop.
What do you mean by "...a wifi signal far away..." Indoors, outdoors, upstairs, next door
Do you have control of the "far away" source?
We recommend Linksys 802.11N WMP300N for PCI card, or the DLink DWA-542 Range Booster Wireless N.
But there is some advantage to using a USB Wireless N Linksys USB WUSB300N because you can move it around to get the best results for the local environment...
I am working on a friends hp dv se which had a bad hard drive when he brought it to me which I replaced I installed Windows on it and it doesn't seem to recognize the broadcom wireless network card that is in it My friend tells me that it worked before the hard drive crashed though he was running windows vista I have tried everything I can think of to get it to work I even disconnected it and reconnected it and the wifi network problem card dv6338se HP computer still does not find the device All the drivers are installed on the computer and doesn't show that any are missing Under network adapters in the device manager it just shows the wired LAN card I tried installing the broadcom driver and the HP wireless agent thinking it might make a difference but didnt Should I assume that the card is bad and go after a new one Or is there something that I am missing because I installed Windows on it He very much wants windows and I would rather not reformat it and reinstall vista if it is not needed Only thing I can think of is that it is a hardware issue Any input would be greatly appreciated
these are generally the series of hp laptops that had a manufacturing problem where the heat would separate the connections from the motherboard and you no longer have wireless internet ... or in some cases the computer would not boot up at all.
In your case that you can not get wireless internet I would recommend that you purchase a 15 - 50 $us usb wireless adapter and go about your way.
If you want directions on how to resolderer parts onto a motherboard... well I am not so good at that.
I warmly welcome
I have a problem with configuring network cards
WIFI comes nicely with DHCP pool 192.168.0 .*
I have a virtual network adapter "Microsoft Loopback Adapter"
in it I have to have a static IP address 220.127.116.11
and set it manually (IPv4)
the problem is that the WiFi card is still changing my IP address of the virtual card
how to prevent it?
I wanted to wifi card automatically collects the IP address
but did not interfere in the virtual adapter's IP
I quote (from ):
Microsoft Loopback Adapter is a dummy network card, no hardware is involved. It is used as a testing tool for a virtual network environment where network access is not available. Also, you must use the Loopback adapter if there are conflicts with a network adapter or with a network adapter driver. You can bind network clients, protocols, and other network configuration items to the Loopback adapter, and you can install the network adapter driver or network adapter later while retaining the network configuration information.
Given that, there is no way your wi-fi card can "change" the IP address of your fake network adapter. If you set a static IP for ANY adapter, it WILL stay that way, regardless if one adapter is set to release and renew based on DHCP and one is not.
I even tried it myself. I installed the loopback adapter, set an IP and all that for it, released ALL DHCP'd IPs and renewed them. the static IP for the loopback adapter didn't change.
Take a look at your settings again, make sure you didn't miss something.
Hello people I have a major issue with my wireless card I'll explain quickly - I had a trendnet wifi adaptater in PCI which I could get to work anymore after trying to desinstall resintall loosing connection in the middle of online games - I bought a D-Link DWA- Pci wifi card believing my old card was dead I tried it on a older computer with XP it runs perfectly - I installed the new card no problem - now Activated wifi to any but wireless network unable DWA-547 card, see the card is activated in the quot network connections quot tab it is even green just like seeing a few wifi networks but I cannot see any wifi networks and there are a lot nearby - I have tried to unistall reinstall my new card no luck - I have connected myself to Internet by RJ- to put everything up-to-date no luck - I have tried to desactivate reactivate my card - i uninstall quot bonjour quot as I read somewhere this could be the problem still no luck - Activated DWA-547 wireless card, but unable to see any wifi network furthermore when activated when i'm using the command line ipconfig all the wifi card does not appear in this command line - I tried the ipconfig renew it says quot the operation has failed because no card has the autorised status for this operation quot i'm translating it from french so maybe it's not the exact words maybe a clean install would be THE solution but I really would try Activated DWA-547 wireless card, but unable to see any wifi network not to do that please help
Welcome to Seven Forums,
I'd verify from your computer's BIOS if LAN and WLAN support are both enabled.
Depending on the Model of your computer, when you retart it you may either select F1 or F2 to go the BIOS setup.

I would, following restoration problems reinstalling the network card,
I need the manufacturer's name and in the reference card
can anyone help me
find out the VEN_ and DEV_ numbers of the card in Device Manager.
Then google the VEN and DEV number to find out what card it is.
Have tried downloading new drivers from manufacturer, nothing seems to work. I have plenty of devices in my house and the router is working fine, but this machine (Dell XPS 8500) doesn't even detect the network.
i wrote it down once and believe I had a dell wireless 1702 802.11b/g/v (2.4ghz) driver, but upon downloading and installing, nothing changes. In fact, the manufacturer (Dell) suggests what appear to be entirely different drivers for my machine (similarly named but 1703 and 1704 instead).

My PC doesn't get detect 5GHz and the increase bandwidth from my router, so I want to replace it. But before I take it apart, I want to make sure that I can do so and buy the right parts. Is this possible, and if so what should I get? I also want to add bluetooth as I remember the website had an option to do so, but bc the Costco Set Config was cheaper, I went that route instead. Is it possible to do this internally w/o an external part [like a usb dongle] PS. Here is the Product Number: C8P47AV Is there like an installation/repair guide for my laptop model too too?

My laptop is inable to connect to internet via its own network card. The WiFi connects but shows no internet while im able to access the internet using a WiFi dongle. I have updated the drivers and even deleted and reinstalled the drivers but still issue didn't get resolved. The laptops own wifi is showing the networks just unable to get the internet and shows an error sign exclamation on the WiFi signal for the laptops wifi card while connects fine using the donglehttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/My-wifi-network-card-is-unable-to-connect-to-internet/td-p/5750730
Here's my problem.
I use the windows 8. Accidentally i disabled my wi-fi connection (like in the picture im doing with the other connection), and since then, i wasnt able to get it able again...
Now, as you see in the same picture, the Wifi connection, as well as the bluetooth, disapeared from that folder
Now i tried to set the wifi connection again, but it doesnt work.
I went to the device manager and i saw that something was wrong with the network card (Realtek....)
I tried to active and deactive, but nothing happened.
The option 'Roll back driver' is disabled (on grey).
I restarted the pc many times and nothing...
Can you please help me? This pc is new... i bought it 2 days ago.
thanks anyway, i've already solved thishttp://www.eightforums.com/network-sharing/18612-my-wifi-disabled-problem-my-realtek-network-card.html

Hello! I am going to install W7 Ultimate today, but I can't find any drivers for my networkcard. Apparently I have to back-up my network card drivers for W7 ultimate before hand on a CD. Or else I wont be able to go out on the internet.
This is my network card: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller.
I am using a networkcable. Do I have to back-up my drivers for that networkcard to able to go out on the internet? If you say yes, please give me a link.
I hope you understand what I mean cuz I don't want to stand there with no internet once I've installed W7 Ultimate. THANKS.

I need someone to help me with a problem on my sister's computer.
She just installed XP after taking off Vista, and now she needs the drivers to get her internet working. She's using a LAN connection, and I know the number 1394 is somehow involved (clearly I have had a ton of experience with network cards and such).
These are her specs:
I'll be happy to supply any more information that will help.
Put 1394 out of your mind for now, that's part of the firewire spec., not LAN.
The HP website says there's a NVIDIA nFORCE networking controller for the HP Pavilion a6230n Desktop PC and that is what you have to find an XP driver for. Google search came up with the following site for driver download, http://www.soft32.com/download_183257.html
Card is a 3com pci card - 3Com EtherLink 10/100 PCI NIC (3C905-TX).
Now, I have just decided to go 64bit, and all is installed driver wise aside from this card.
So, I have just downloaded a 3c90x1.exe package, (the site I have it from suggests it is 64bit compatible), but when I try to run the exe i get an error suggesting that it is not compatible with the version I am running.
Can anyone offer any suggestions on this please. or a location for a verified working 64bit driver?
Build is 7229.
Compatible with the version of windows (windows 7) or compatible with this version 64 bit.. Try installing it in xp compatibilty mode. If no joy then get 64 bit version. If no 64 win 7 try 64 bit vista driver.
Hope this helps and if not let us know

Welcome to the forum wapwap!
We need to see what Windows Vista thinks you have for a network card. To do this please click on the following:
Click start icon > right click on My Computer and select Manage > Select Device Manager and look under network adapters and what does it say there?
P.S. I too looked on Asus and nope no network drivers. Strange!
via Device Manager I see my Broadcom card's drivers are from year 2004. At Broadcom's webpage I see issued in 2009 for my model. Would like to update. Downloaded from Broadcom's and saved them to desktop. It's a zip file. When I extract it, I see 3 files b57win32.cat, b57win32.inf and b57win32.sys. How to begin?
When I try to update via Device Manager, when I select desktop as a folder place, OK button remains blank.
an easier way is to go to the mfg of your computers website such as dell, ibm, hp, etc and look under support and drivers and downloads for the model of computer that u have.that way u will get the correct drivers for your computer.if the driver u have now is working fine you shouldnt have to update it.if u have no driver the device mgr should find the correct one for u. if not go to who made your computer and then download it to your documents and then open it and install it. hope this helps u.
I just reinstalled Xp onto my pc and my motherboard discs with all of my drivers have dissapeared..
My network card doesn't have drivers so I can't do anything right now. How can I find the proper network drivers for my card. I don't remember the exact model number of my motherboard and DXDIAG doesn't give it to me.
(network card is integraded)
Can someone offer some help or advice
You will need those drivers. Download the free version of Everest ( here) and it will give you the motherboard make and model. Once you have that go to the manufacturer's website and download all the drivers you need. If you need help with sourcing the drivers then let us know (along with the make/model of your mobo).http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/reformatted-network-card-drivers-290269.html
Hi My computer has recently randomly- Ralink card wifi connection Notebook network drops started to drop the WiFi connection reconnect after a while and at times not even detect my WiFi connection for a while Then repeats the process for no apparent reason I'm not sure when exactly thus problem Notebook drops wifi connection randomly- Ralink network card started as I Notebook drops wifi connection randomly- Ralink network card had been using Ethernet cable up until last week I am certain that this is not related to my router as - other devices in my house can access the internet perfectly fine I have tried doing a power cycle of the router restarting the notebook re-installing updating drivers and cmd ipocnfig refresh and other commands along those lines My notebook model is the hp pavilion tx- windows bit intel I gb ram and uses a ralink RT network card Ps the problem appears to be alright if I use older versions of the driver have tried and the default one which came with the notebook which is older than it however I would prefer not to have to use the older versions as task manager says that its link speed is only mbps whereas versions would show mbps Thankyou in advance
It sounds to me like a signal problem. A competing signal drowning out your wireless signal can cause these kinds of random losses.
To test for this try this program:

Hi and Welcome to TSF!
Do you happen to know the name of the driver?
It will be on the CD that came with the product.
Look on the CD for the driver and please reply with the name of the folder containing the driver.
It will be something like "RTL8188SU"
I have a network card , the one mentioned in title on my laptop , and
Vista system, I have no idea why,but this card loses randomly (sometimes for short sometimes for quite long time) a connection with a router as well as main net, I've tried to deal with a problem by changing the configuration but it didn't work
Can somebody help me? or maybe is it possible to change a card for another one?
i had the same problem lg laptop , i googled for weeks & came across many possible remedies but never got lucky until i decided to recover the system using dvd recovery. when done and launched windows i spent 3 hours online without a single disconnect, but after updating the wireless driver the random disconnecting came back , this time i didn't recover the whole system , i roll back driver and its working so good so far.http://www.vistax64.com/network-sharing/259140-intel-r-wireless-wifi-link-5100-network-card-problem.html

Please help. I have Dell D630 Laptop, was Vista, then 7, ( has been running Win 10 successfully on Wireless) Started showing problems on boot-up, but always got started using the network troubleshooter. Then Total failure. I've re-installed a clean copy of win 7, same disk works sucessfully on another Dell 1545. I've had the w/lan module out, cleaned the connectors with electrolube, but booting-up, doesn't recognise w/lan. How do I go about further troubleshooting. I can do quite a bit but 76 year old silvery. Thankshttp://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/391132-dell-d630-laptop-windows-7-wifi-w-lan-network-card-fault.html
I am new here so please let me know if I need to provide more information but my problem is as follows:
I got a TP-Link archer t9e network card and I have an asus z87-k motherboard. I can fit it in fine and the system recognizes when I boot it up. So far, so great. Now go to install the drivers and it does. Then once the installation has finished my system completely freezes. I can boot it up in safe mode to uninstall the drivers and then it works fine again. Is there a way to get this card to work on my computer or is it just incompatible?
Oh, and my operating system is Windows 7 64 bit.
Hi Welcome to Seven Forums ... Try the Driver from the Link below

Have you tried the Roll Back Driver option in Device Manager?
Or try moving the card to another PCI slot.
Also if when you updated the drivers you used an installer then go to Programs and Features and uninstall it that way.
Lastly who is the manufacturer of the card and what brand is it? And the updated drives drivers, did they come from Windows Update, Realtek, or the card manufacturer's site?
I've had Windows 7 since the Beta and RC. And all of a sudden the last 4 days I've been having problems with my network and sound card drivers. Every time I boot up I have to enter device manager and reinstall the drivers. Every time. They install fine but it's just a pain in the ass. Anyone ever have this problem?
Please complete edit of system specs and make sure all drives are updated from manufactures web site.
Welcome Sick Nasty to 7 Forums.
The only description I have for this integrated network card is:
nvidia nforce mcp networking adapter
I got that from Everest (system information). The main board is marked ms-6553 ver 1, if that helps.
The computer is a Compaq Presario 8000 (8ZSXE2). Compaq has all the drivers for download except the integrated network card. They don't even list one.
I've been through at least a hundred web pages. It seems to me there should be something at nvidia.com; but, I can't find any network drivers at all there.
Hello to all, I bought a HP Microserver G7 N54L and installed Windows home server 2011.Windows does not recognize the HP network card. The network card is NC107i PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet. Did someone know where I can found the driver for this card ? Thank you Chris
Hi: Yes, I have attached it below... Download, unzip and manually install the smbus controller driver I attached under Attachments below. Go to the device manager and click on the smbus controller needing drivers. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that you unzipped. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install. Then reboot.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Hp-Microserver-G7-N54L-network-card-drivers/td-p/4723446

I need hte drivers for it on a floppy disk for my old IBM Thinkpad... there is no other way I can get the drivers on that laptop and I was wondering if anyone has the drivers on the floppy that they could send to me or if they know where I can get the drivers that fit on a floppy disk. I had the floppy at one point of time but no longer have it since I moved.

Hi I have an older model Intel Wireless Network card that was recently discontinued and I don't have the installation CD for it. And I was wondering if anyone could help me? The model number is G57005-002.
Windows 7 64bit
Is this card installed and running?
If it is you can download the Intel driver update utility which will search for your device and provide you with latest drivers.
Edited to add: When I did a Google search for this card I didn't find anything for the model you have posted.
After a new WinXP Pro sp3 installation, I no longer had internet access. I discovered that the network card (Ethernet Controller) wasn't installed. I had the motherboard (Asus P4PE) CD so I tried to install the LAN drivers but everytime I try, whether from the CD or from a folder on the hard drive, I get the same error message telling me that Access is Denied. I've tried in Safe Mode, but that didn't help.
I've checked some User Permissions, in Local Security Policy (Administrative Tools) and I seem to have permission to install and uninstall drivers. But I'm not very familiar with Permissions and Access Rights so I need some help with this.
I've also run Dial-a-fix, but it didn't find any problem with permissions.
Can someone help with this, my computer is pretty useless without internet access.
I'm now gone into the registry and checked the permissions for PCI. The admin is set for Full Control, and I'm the administrator. I tried changing Everyone else from Read to Full Control permissions, but that didn't make any difference. So I'm still stuck on this.
BTW, I was able to install the Soundmax drivers (integrated sound chip) from the Asus P4PE installation CD.
Hey guys im back again I just bought a brand new Satellite today at the local best buy and it had windows installed i opened the box didnt Drivers - Satellite Card Toshiba Wireless/Network C55D-A5108 even bother turning it on and began removing the hard drive so i can put in the solid state from my old satellite also formatted and installed a clean copy of Windows Ultimate The first problem is i cannot connect to a network either on wireless or wired I have checked the Toshiba website and downloaded a few different drivers but they arent installing not real sure whats going on I havent ran into a problem Wireless/Network Card Drivers - Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5108 where it just wont install maybe its a fluke idk The biggest thing is that i cant seem to figure out the make model of the card installed in this laptop It seems as though Toshiba put different cards in this model depending on which config you get I used speccy to try and look it up but since there are no drivers installed it doesnt know either it sees it but cannot tell me what it is The laptop model number is Satellite C D-A The laptop part number is PSCFWU- C Thanks as usual for any and all help I will continue searching myself i cant just sit idle
Murd3d mate where did you get the OS from ie did you buy an OEM or retail version?
First of all this are the driver downloads Drivers & Software Support | Toshiba
Now there are three that I can see and we need to establish which card is in that machine.
To do that look at this
Using HW Info
You can test the volts on the PSU with HWInfo HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 -Download < download the right bit version andclose the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power sectionwhere you will see what the volts are doing see my pic.
The original right hand window shows themachine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use themain left hand side panel
Open each + down into the componentitself and then click on it - in theright hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds andother essential info that device. See pic for example.
Thsi I did up for volts on the PSU but in the pic you can open out in your case the Network + and see the wifi adaptors and see what is in the machine as we need to know the brand that the driver sis for.
Hello all Hoping I can get some help here this issue is driving me totally insane I have a Gigabyte G M-Combo motherboard with an Atheros AR ethernet component I re-installed Windows today It failed to automatically detect the ethernet component so I couldn't get online No big deal I just used Google Translate to painstakingly navigate Atheros' website at a friend's house until I could find the driver files download them to a cellphone and take them card to manually. it allow Windows won't fails then network auto-install drivers, home Yet alas when I open Device Windows fails to auto-install network card drivers, then won't allow it manually. Manager and point it to the drivers I want to use it tells me it won't because Windows has cleverly determined that I'm already running the best drivers for that device Weird So I totally uninstall the drivers from Device Manager scan for hardware changes then update the drivers again pointing to the files I downloaded Again within seconds -- quot Windows has failed to install device drivers quot quot Windows has determined that Windows fails to auto-install network card drivers, then won't allow it manually. you're already using the best device drivers quot How can I force it to listen to me and just install what I ask it to I honestly have absolutely zero idea of anything else I could do It won't let me install new drivers and it won't install its own
if it's a brand-name PC, you must use only drivers from the PC manufacturer's website.
On brand-name (OEM) computers, drivers direct from the device or motherboard manufacturer will usually be the wrong ones. OEM hardware is custom-made, hence custom drivers are required. Only the PC manufacturer has these.

Hello I have recently bought a new pci wifi lan card Ralink rt turbo and have plugged in and installed drivers Initially the drivers the company I bought it from 7 any Ralink WiFi not windows RT61 card, signals wifi Lan receiving told me to install didn't work but after some googling found the correct drivers and downloaded from Ralinks website However these didn't work either When using the Ralink wireless utility it says that the card is disconnected however in device manage it is both connect Ralink RT61 WiFi Lan card, windows 7 not receiving any wifi signals and the correct drivers installed and everything is perfectly fine I ignored the wireless utility and hoped that windows would still be able to use the wireless card as past experiences have shown to be true This case however I get nothing Windows says that the Ralink RT61 WiFi Lan card, windows 7 not receiving any wifi signals wireless card is experiencing problems it doesn't show any of the routers that should be shown I have been looking around a lot and there have been several drivers Ralink RT61 WiFi Lan card, windows 7 not receiving any wifi signals that should have worked and they haven't I would have thought that the antenna is broken or the card doesn't work however when I use it with ubuntu instead of windows it works perfectly fine without any hassle so the card is definitely working Any advice that anyone can give on how to resolve this would be very welcome Thanks Aieden
Have a look at this thread.

Hey guys So what i'm trying to do is create a hotspot computer wifi built-in with Wifi card. Welcome to Vista Forums!
Unfortunately, it isn't as simple as that. You are connected to the router fine with your computer, but that tells us nothing about the ipod because wireless is off (but that's not the whole story either - you need something extra to do what you want). The following article should tell you what you need and how to do it: How to Connect iPod Touch to Windows 7 Ad-hoc Wireless Network. Although it says Windows 7, there are procedures for Vista as well (and the software will work with Vista).
I hope this helps.
This USB Wifi adapter seems to be a MEGA performer --Lovely finally to be able to THINK of getting rid of LAN cables all over the place.
I've no probs with decent HD Movie streaming from a SERVER with one of these (I unplugged the LAN and inserted the USB Wifi adapter into a USB3 slot --note this needs genuine USB3 to work at proper speed). My Home router can deliver 802.11ac so no probs there.
Brilliant piece of kit and NO MORE CABLES !!!!!!. Wifi will soon be able to deliver comparable speeds to LAN especially for HOME networks. !!!
Here's the UK Link but is available in US and Europe. In any case it's delivered (in my case) by Amazon S.A.R.L (Luxembourg) so no tax !!!. even though I ordered from UK web site --they will ship outside UK tax free.

This is my first time posting so i hope its in the right place. Here it goes:
I have just replaced my WiFi card from (BCM943228HMB) to BCM94352HMB. Before replacing my WiFi card i done the following:
1. Made computer boot in safe mode with networking.
After that i replaced the card, then booted into windows 10 (safe mode with networking) and checked device manager. Everything was OK (See attached picture). I then tried to turn on WiFi, but it does not turn on. Any help is appreciated.
Hahaahahaha don't look at the other tab
Why are you booting into safe mode? I would connect a network cable to the wired network port, if possible for you. In regular windows, not safe mode, right click on the 802.11ac network controller and uninstall. Right click on the top device manager entry for the computer itself and select scan for new hardware.http://www.tenforums.com/network-sharing/31364-wifi-not-working-after-replacing-wifi-card-bcm94352hmb.html

Test if the issue persists on a wired connection to rule out the wireless adapter hardware so troubleshooting can be directed towards the right areas.Test another connection: Many people rule out their home network as an issue if another device is working on the same network. Networking is not that simple. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to rule out settings in that device until the notebook has been tested on another network. I looked online and I'm still a bit confused whether I should get dual or single band wifi for a laptop that I would like to purchase. Can someone explain to offer a suggestion as to which one is best?
Thank you in advance.
I should get dual or single band wifi for a laptop that I would like to purchaseClick to expand...
do you mean a router
or as part of the laptop spec ?
what router do you have and does it work in dual band simultaneously
the advantage of the 5ghz signal is if you are in a crowded 2.4ghz environment then 5ghz helps avoid interference - also the coverage is wider - although the 5ghz router i have linksys - does not seem to be
if your current router only works in 2.4ghz , then no advantage in the short term
some routers are advertised as dual band - but you have to choose between 2.4 or 5 ghz and so ALL devices will need to support 5ghz

Okay, usually when you hover over the networks listed and available from the taskbar icon, you get a nice little window with a few helpful tidbits of info for each listed network when you mouse action hover over the names. It tells you the encryption type, and the SSID, plus a few other details.
Well, on my computer, the information is appearing behind the list to where I can't read it. The network list is overlapping on top of the hover info. Talk about annoying. I searched for various things on google, with no luck. I tried:
Windows 7 network list obscuring hover details, and various other combinations to no avail. Anyone here have a clue what might be breaking this? I'd like the hover details to appear properly so I can read it. In the meantime I've installed the free version of Acrylic Wifi to work around the issue. Thanks.
The problem must be driver based or an add-on program because I don't get any of that. All I get is the name and whether it's connected or not. Check that your adaptor driver is up to date and/or the program you use to display the data is up to date.
Forgot to mention:
Dell adds "bloatware" to their PCs to "improve the user's experience" so I would check Dell Support for your specific model and look for updates.
Yesterday I had the Windows defender virus on my Desktop computer I read things online and most places were saying to use rKill ComboFix and Malwarebytes So etc. Windows Had no drivers, the Defender audio Network virus. drivers, Now I followed everything and then the virus was removed I believe Less than an hour later a Had the Windows Defender virus. Now no Network drivers, audio drivers, etc. friend of mine went to a website which I believe got me a Had the Windows Defender virus. Now no Network drivers, audio drivers, etc. virus Ever since then when my computer boots up the task bar at the bottom of the screen is grey and plain looks like a task bar from Windows XP maybe it says that my Audio service is not running and I do not even have the bars that show my Wifi signal I'm assuming that I am missing the driver now I do not know if ComboFix is what did this or if I have another virus but I have become so frustrated with this that I figured I would ask for help I'm running a Gateway DX Windows and a wireless internet card If ANY other information is needed then I will be more than happy to give it

It keeps dropping our home wifi network connection. I have to shutdown power, wait, and power back on and it refreshes. This is annoying. I am seriously considering returning this device. The whole point of this purchase was stability and ease of browsing and light internet use. Frustration is not part of the purchase.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Network-Connection-Error-Dropped-Home-WiFi-Network-only-on/td-p/5638654
Is there a way to setup network profiles or something so that when I bring my Surface Pro to work and connect to the wireless network there it will use the static ip address I have but when I disconnect and then connect to my home wifi it will go back to DHCP? On my MacBook Pro I can go into the network settings and change the location profile I have setup for networks but I don't see anything like this for Windows 8.
You can go into IPv4 Properties of this NIC, then you can use the Alternate configuration tab to set up the alternate IP, or use the Advanced tab to add a static IP/gateway/DNS etc. to TCP/IP.http://www.eightforums.com/network-sharing/29158-specific-network-settings-based-wifi-network.html
I have windows 7 32 bit on my hp 530 notebook. Since a few days when i try to connect to any network it shows connected but when i click on networks it says identifying network. I do have the latest drivers. I have windows 8 installed and wifi works fine in it.
I'm building a subscription wifi network for our area.
Cisco Aironet 1550 series: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5679/ps11451/data_sheet_c78-641373.html
Proxim Orinocor series: http://www.proxim.com/products/enterprise-wireless-lan-wi-fi-mesh/orinocor-wi-fi-mesh-series
The Proxim seems like the better product, and sells for a bit less.
Will I need to purchase anything else besides several of these for the network? I'm assuming the 'home' router connects to a PC (or the PC via the gateway address) for managing the network.
Thanks allot for your insight.
Just in the process of reinstalling my Win7 OS. I have an ATI Radeon HD5750 Graphics Card and when Windows was installing I noticed that it installed drivers for the graphic card. In my previous install I had the Catalyst Control Centre installed but never ever used it for anything that I know of. So my question is, do I need to install the CCC package from the ATI site or are the windows installed drivers just as good. On a similar tack without starting a new thread. Do I need to reinstall the chipset drivers for my Gigabyte MA770T-UD3 Motherboard or are they still installed?.
If you have an ATI graphics card/chip...some say that you don't need to install CCC.
I have a history of ATI cards/chipsets and I always install the full package because the card/chip works properly and I don't care about the fact that I don't ever use CCC.
Any drivers installed by Windows by default will work...but for optimum use of the graphics function, you probably need to install the drivers provided by the system or motherboard manufacturer.
Anytime an O/S is reinstalled...all previous system files are flushed. Of course, a clean install fllushes everything.
It also slows down my computer it appears - The driver that was installed automatically says 2006 IC USB Storage-CFC USB Device
this is the hardware ID
under USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE
And under one of the Tabs:
Any help would be appreciated ! Thanks all

all of the relevant drivers can be downloaded from the acer website for your laptop.
you can gain access to the internet from the acer by plugging an ethernet cable in directly from your router/modem.
only download from trusted sources, and when it comes to drivers only download from the vendor. just go onto the acer website, click support or downloads. and fill out the form. making sure you choose win 7 64bit as well as the correct model of laptop.

Sorry if this has already been discussed. Couldn't find on a search.
I have a small secured network in my office with a modem/router networking three computers wirelessly. I would like to add another router that would allow clients in the waiting room of my office to have internet access. Could you assist me in a setup or map? I already have a wireless Linksys router available to use as the second router.
Are those in the waiting room to be allowed into OR forbidden access to your Lan systems?
You already have
to Isolate the W.R from your lan, connect
modem---router----your.lan.systems (assumed 192.168.1.x or 0.x)
+---new router (new channel+ssid+no encryption)
set LAN addresses and DHCP for 192.168.10.x
add firewall rule to ALL your existing LAN systems to deny src address range=192.168.10.0 thru 10.255

Dell Inspiron 1525 with a BCM 4312 802.11b/g lp-phy wi-fi card. I can't locate a 64 bit Vista driver. It's the last piece of hardware I need a driver for and I well have a nice clean 64 bit install. No luck in finding W7 64 bit either.
For anyone thinking of using 64 bit OS on a Dell Inspiron laptop check Intel's driver page, chip set and gpu in 64 bit. The Dell drivers work for the LAN card and card reader. Everything else seems to like the Vista drivers from the OS install.
This may be of assistance,
I used a Lenovo driver that matched up with the same Hardware ID from a Dell I did a clean install on for my neighbor a while back.
Not saying it'll work for you, but it did in my case.

hi all was wondering if any one can help i have just installed windows 7 on my eee pc 901 but am stuck for drivers for web cam and wifi any help would be much appreciated
Hi kicker10 and welcome to the Forum. easiest way is to go to the manufacturer of you webcam and look for Windows 7 drivers there. Though if a suitable driver was no found automatically it could be that your webcam is not compatible with Win 7. If you can't find a driver post the webcam and any other hardware details here and one of us will look them up for you!
Just had a look at the spec for your notebook. Did you run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before installing Win?
OK now i have not done this for a while but can some one help me and give me the right link to newest drivers to my sound card/video card.here is a screen shot of what video/sound card i have.
heres the creative downloads page where you will find the drivers for your soundcard.
and that link is to the Nividia drivers download page

i have also have a dell inspiron 2200, which has almost identical hardware, and that works fine with win7.
someone else was having the same issue but there has not been any update on it.
thanks in advanced, -Joey
Your machine is not on the Win7 compatible list;:

Install the chipset drivers first. Then whatever other ones you need (unless, of course, Dell recommends a specific order for that model).
Recently, my HP 520 notebook suddenly turn offed, after restarting the system its not detecting the wifi signals, as i downloaded and installed the Intel Chipset Installation Utility for ICH8 for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP and Intel PRO/Wireless Drivers (International, American) drivers to my notebook, i'm using windows xp professional 32bit intel core processor, if any one went with same issues try to help me.

I reinstalled windows 7 lately and I got everything to work like usual. I wanted to move to WiFi on this computer from Ethernet because I wanted to use the Ethernet cable on my PlayStation4. I installed the Realtek Thinkpad Wireless LAN Adapter Software, but I can't get it to work, the only place that I can find it in is the uninstall programs list, nowhere else to be seen. So can somebody help me get my WiFi working...
What model computer or wireless adapter are you using?http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/619338/wifi-drivers-not-working/

I have refreshed my laptop as I intend to sell it, i have installed Windows 7 Ultimate, and downloaded all the necessary drivers from the manufacturers website. However, none of the three wifi drivers work!. I have also used several different driver detection softwares to ensure that the drivers are correct, and each time I am given a different driver, which hasn't worked. This problem has plagued me for about a week now and I could really use the cash. The problem I am having is that the driver apparently installs, but i am given no means to access local wifi networks, and only certain drivers will show up under the system>device manager
The laptop is a;
Packard Bell TE11HC
Windows 7 Ultimate
