Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3193494 Also Failing to Install

Q: Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3193494 Also Failing to Install

http news softpedia Also Install Cumulative to Update Windows 10 Failing KB3193494 com news wind b -also-failing-to-install- shtml Microsoft has recently released Windows cumulative update KB in order to bring the KB saga to an end but Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3193494 Also Failing to Install it turns out that there are users Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3193494 Also Failing to Install who are experiencing issues with this Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3193494 Also Failing to Install new patch as well Some of those who were offered the new cumulative update are reporting problems when attempting to install it and the way it happens looks very similar to what others have experienced in the past In most of the cases the cumulative update fails to install and it simply rolls back before getting users back to the desktop The update is then reoffered and redownloaded before the system is once again rebooted to attempt the install Users who couldn t install the original KB update were confident that this new one fixes the problems so they rushed to install it I have already read some issues with this update and that you should install the offline updater It has the same problem Microsoft released KB to resolve the download issue so I tried again Still the same problem one of them explains on Microsoft s Community forums Post-installation problems Others are reporting issues spotted after the update successfully installed on their computers and upon removal everything seems to be returning to normal which is living proof that this latest cumulative update is the source of the problems The latest update KB makes my network drive to become inaccessible When I remove this update everything goes back to normal If the update KB gets reinstalled the problem comes back another user whose computer is experiencing unusual behavior after installing this cumulative update said For the moment this doesn t seem to be a widespread issue and Microsoft is obviously yet to acknowledge it but it remains to be seen how many users are actually hit by the reported problems as more install it from Windows Update Click to expand nbsp

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My laptop has been unable to install the KB3193494 update. Each time it gets to 99% then gives me a message saying Windows couldn't finish installing updates and rolls back the changes. The event viewer is showing a message of "Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x800F0922: Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3193494).". I've attached the event details here. Any help would be appreciated.

Windows Cumulative Update KB Fails to Install as Well Windows cumulative updates are certainly pretty helpful for the majority of users running Microsoft s latest OS version but at the same time they are turning into sort of nightmare for others who can t 10 as Fails Cumulative Well Windows KB3197954 Install Update to simply install them successfully Issues with Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3197954 Fails to Install as Well Windows cumulative updates have been around for a while and Microsoft has tried to fix them on several occasions but for some reason they keep coming back pretty much in the same form KB makes no exception and after being pushed to Windows users last week it appears that it fails to install on a number of machines due to a cause that s yet to be determined More than just installation issues Posts on Microsoft s Community forums are pointing towards various problems experienced with cumulative update KB including system freezes but in most of the cases it s the typical failing to install issue that makes it impossible for some users to deploy the patch on their computers Cumulative Update for Windows Version for x -based Systems KB keeps failing to install on my system The install starts fine but while restarting claims the install has failed and reverts everything Windows update history only tells me that the update failed to install one user is reporting adding that the error that he gets is Installation Failure Windows failed to install the following update with error x F Update for Windows KB Microsoft is yet to acknowledge these issues but judging from the number of reports that are currently online it seems that a fix would be needed this time as well For the moment however given the fact that we re just one week away from Patch Tuesday when Microsoft is projected to release new cumulative updates a fix might not be released Since these updates are cumulative installing the latest one always brings a computer fully up-to-date so even if you re experiencing issues with this one successfully installing the next should do the job nbsp

Hey guys n gals, just need a bit of help reading through my windows update log! Recently reinstalled win7 64x, because I wanted a nice new format before I go back to university ! Thing is, set up my new system, then started to download updates. Restarted my PC to install these updates and when rebooting it stuck at 0% for like 5minutes then went to the welcome screen. Bit worried about this, so I went into windows update and it seems 99% of the updates failed to install! I'm thinking that there is one stubborn update that is making the rest of them fail, so I've attached my log for you guys to have a look at!

Thanks a lot,
Tom

I am having Win 10 home version 1607 64-bit. While downloading KB31889866 through Windows Update it struck up at 45% for 3 hrs, now it has again struck up at 95% for >2hrs. Hi spapakons,

Please remove every crack/bypass on your system in order to proceed.
There are 2 main reasons,
1.

Troubleshooting a system with counterfeit programs is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit program contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.

A:Solved: Windows update failing to install

You would probably be better off and find it less annoying if you set Automatic Updates to

Notify me but don't automatically download and install them.

This way, you have control over which updates get downloaded and installed.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Go to the Windows Updates site, then do a "Custom" scan.

Once the scan is finished, see if those same 5 updates are displayed.

If they are, attempt to download and install them.

If you're met with the same error message, do a new "custom" scan.

Select only 1 of them to download and install.

If it successfully installs, restart the computer.

Repeat the same steps for each of the others.

Note: One of the other trusted advisors(DoubleHelix) here came up with those steps, and it has worked for some others here.

Hello

From the CBS log it looks as if the repair was to an opencl.dll file which is not related to a windows update but usually to do with graphics cards such as nVidia cards which change the opencl.dll file.

Have you still got problems trying to install KB3124263? Quite often these problems sort themselves out after a day or two.

After (finally) installing the latest released Cumulative update on my HP Pavilion dv7, Bluetooth no longer functions properly. Playing Music via Bluetooth to my Beatbox Portable is now "choppy" sounding - behaving like my Laptop is too far away for the Bluetooth connection. Even when I lay my Laptop next to the Device, it still doesn't function properly. Prior to the install of this latest release it was flawless - up to 100 feet away. Now cant use it at all. I note the date of the INTEL BLUETOOTH DRIVER is 3/2016 -- so looks like it was updated in this latest W10 update.

Anybody else? If no known fix I guess I'll have to back out this update, if possible, because I REALLY need this Bluetooth to function properly.

A:Windows Update (3) Failing install after reboot - error 8007054F

You have some errors in the CBS background that I've never seen before - hopefully there will be some supporting information in the event logs.

Open Event Viewer
click on the Windows logs entry in the left pane to expand it.
Now click on the Application entry - wait while it loads.
Click on 'File' in the menu bar and select Save...
Save the file as Appevt.evtx
Repeat for the System log
then zip both, and upload them.

For some reason my Windows 10 Home (x86) fails to install the latest cumulative update KB3194798 that was released a few days ago. It fails every time with error 0x8e5e03fa. Manually downloading and installing it doesn't work either, that in turn fails without an error message at all (The following updates were not installed: Security Update for Windows (KB3194798))
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hi I had trouble with the update, but I finally got it to down load. You might give this a try. This will reset your updates. Then try the updates again! I have done this before and it worked for me. If it helps please post back,so I can continue to recommend it to members. The author of this fix is a trusted member in the computer world. Windows Update - Reset in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Hello folks,

I need to have installed Office 2010 Cumulative Update for June 2011 as it's listed as a prerequisite for another software. However, I can not find this update in Windows Update (neither in downloads list nor in installed updates list).

Is there a way to install the update manually? And if it is, where can I find this particular update?

The KB3081424 have been rolled out today for Windows 10, and it's a Cumulative Update. It'll update a lot of files that are coming out in users' SFC and DISM scans as corrupted. Installing it could fix these files, so I suggest you to install it.Cumulative Update for Windows 10: August 5, 2015This update includes nonsecurity-related changes to enhance the functionality of Windows 10 through new features and improvements.Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously-released fixes (see KB 3074683). If you have installed previous updates, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer.

I should also add that when it finally does get to the desktop.....there is yet another delay and spinning small blue circle before apps are launched. (they finally all flicker) I don't even have that many of them. It really seems like the OS is delaying as it is doing something.....and all of this suddenly in the past two weeks.

Microsoft is rolling out the first cumulative package of non-security-focused updates and fixes for Windows 10 one week after the company began making available to users the release-to-manufacturing (RTM) version of the operating system.

Referred to by some company watchers as "Service Release 1," the actual update package is officially known as KB3081424. (Thanks to The Verge's Tom Warren for a pointer to the KB.)

There's not a lot of information so far about what's in today's update, which Microsoft is delivering via Windows Update. The KB page says the following:"This update includes non-security-related changes to enhance the functionality of Windows 10 through new features and improvements.Windows 10 updates are cumulative. Therefore, this package contains all previously-released fixes (see KB 3074683). If you have installed previous updates, only the new fixes that are contained in this package will be downloaded and installed to your computer."

Microsoft Delivers Windows 10 SR1

I know what you?re thinking. SR1? Seriously? But it?s true: just a week after the initial release of Windows 10, Microsoft has delivered the first major update to its latest OS. Dubbed Service Release 1 (SR1) internally, this cumulative update for Windows 10 provides no new features but does offer a ton of small fixes.

?This update includes non?security-related changes to enhance the functionality of Windows 10 through new features and improvements, the Knowledge Base article for this update blandly notes. ?Windows 10 updates are cumulative. HiI have upgraded to Windows 10 and my Windows says that its activated. Now the problem is that there is a Cumulative Update KB3081424 that won't install. Its stuck at 0% (preparing to install update) and I have also tried the standalone update installer (manually installing the update) and it stays at initializing installation. I have searched around on the internet and many people have this issue but they seem to get stuck at 30% and mine doesn't even go past 0%.I have checked for the registry problem like most people mentioned and looked at the ProfileList and everything was in order. Please if you guys know anything I would appreciate that.Tek Ideas Unlimited

At this time, it is not known what this release includes - but many users will be hoping that it contains a fix for issues that were causing some machines to enter a reboot loop while trying to install the first update.

and also amending windows update service(didn't work).
It appears that quite a few people are having this problem and some of these remedies work and others don't. Anyone with the same problem and ideas how to fix?

I had that also with this update.
So here is what I did to get over it.
I restarted it then ran the Disc Clean Up app
Which cleared all traces from the Disc
Then let it download and install, which took some time
Then it installed to 30% then Restarted then finished at 100%
Which again sat there for some time then flashed up it had finished and now running all ok on all my systems
Hope that may hopefully help you with your problem
Let us know how you get on
The one thing I found with this one, you cant rush it

Microsoft has just rolled out a new cumulative update for PCs running Windows preview builds so if you re not part of the Microsoft Update Windows 10 KB3176934 Releases Cumulative Insider program you re not going to see it What s odd with this update is that it takes the version number to Windows which the exact same version that another cumulative update released by the company earlier this week brought In fact Microsoft even says that if you have the old update running on your Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3176934 computer you re not going to see the new one which is kind of weird given the fact that it also includes an exclusive change Microsoft explains that this new update brings the same fixes as the previous one with just one exception Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3176934 but because you can t see it you re not going be able to get this improvement - the chances are that it ll be part of another cumulative update planned for the next weeks so you should receive it anyway at some point in the near future We have released Cumulative Update KB to Windows Insider Preview Build on PCs which will bring the build number to This Cumulative Update includes the same fixes as KB but with an additional fix Improved download size optimization of updates Microsoft explains Could be released to retail users soon What s also interesting is that these cumulative updates are currently available for insiders only so retailer users are very likely to get them in the coming weeks when all the testing is completed Windows build is the Anniversary Update that Microsoft released on August so these cumulative updates are expected to be eventually received by all users who are running the stable build We ll keep an eye out for more changes that Microsoft makes to its cumulative updates and will let you know when new ones are available for download for both insiders and retail users In the meantime insiders should get KB as soon as possible if they can see it in Windows Update nbsp

A:How to Fix Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3194496 Installation Issues

Also, if you have completely uninstalled (deleted) XBox and all associated items from your system, then KB3194496 will not install.

To get KB1394496 to install, you have to completely re-install XBox - and not forget to install all associated items.

There is a DISM re-install package method for advanced users, and then for everyone else there is a clean install of Windows 10.

Don't you just love it... ?

The better solution is to disable Windows Update service and only re-enable it to install any cumulative updates -- after waiting for at least two months for a "fixed" cumulative update.

Don't be one of Microsoft's guinea pigs...

I know most people here are complaining about anniversary update 1607 but Im not able to even reach that, Update KB3176493 is causing me a huge headache, it installed and reversed install about 20 times now, I almost cant use the computer any more. Ive tried every possible guide and solution I could find, including applying the update from a full offline installer, nothing works.

I have a different laptop that had no problems at all with this particular update. Just for the sake of clarity the ONLY thing I changed in this Windows installation was changing the directory of user files, if that's whats causing it I would happily change it back.

I would change it back and then see if you are then able to install the update.
If it still does not do it then you can always revert back to what you changed
Remember before you do create a restore point.

IE 11 cumulative security update for Windows 7 fails to configure after reboot. It then reverts and restarts. Everything else appears to be operating normally.

This is the only update that fails to configure. Install finishes without error, but it won't configure on the boot.

Tried (not in this order):
Removed IE 11 and added it back through WIndows update.
   Reset Windows update components.
Downloaded and installed update specifically (KB2909921).
Ran the "Fix it" (it says it fixes a few things, but doesn't change the problem)
Installed update with Trend Micro turned off
*probably other things I can't recall, because I've been at it for too long.

**I have limited time with this machine, because it is otherwise perfectly functional.

Microsoft officials say the latest Windows 10 cumulative update fixes problems some users were having with Windows Store. What else is in it? We have no idea.

The newest cumulative update is KB3081438. The Microsoft Support page says nothing about the specific features and fixes that are new to this update beyond "This update includes improvements to enhance the functionality of Windows 10."

A:Microsoft's third Windows 10 cumulative update said to fix Store issues

"This update includes improvements to enhance the functionality"
Any update with a vague description like that should be considered suspicious. If I were offered an update worded like that for my windows 8.1 machine I would definitely refuse it, if they won't say what it is for it is either not important or not pleasant. Remember that this is the sort of language which was the wording used for the KB page of kb3035583 when it was first released (it's page has been updated since to give a more accurate description of what it does, but when that update first came out it's page was all vague like that).

The update fails to install on some computers, users claim

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 cumulative update KB3097617 earlier today and the first reports pointing to problems experienced during installation or even after that are already reaching the web.

For example, a number of users who turned to Microsoft's Community forums explain that KB3097617 fails to install on their PCs, undoes all changes and then restarts the machine, pushing it in an infinite reboot loop just like it happened with previous cumulative updates.

Microsoft user Darkc0de explains what happens on his Windows 10 computer:

?The update is just not installing, after asking for a restart windows update, initializes goes till 30% Then PC restarts and from 30, goes till 54% and restarts again this time it says We Could Not complete undoing changes and updates 2- 3 Team PC restarts again saying undoing changes and finally finally PC starts.?

Hello,
I installed several new updates but Service pack 1 for Win 7 keeps failing giving me the error message 0x80070541. I am using Win 7 Home Premium 32 Hebrew version, updated from Vista 7 Home Premium 32 Hebrew version

I have tried twice, it gets to around 98-100% downloaded and then displays the error and the option to retry. The same thing happened when I tried to install IE9.
I am using an admin account and have default Windows settings with McAfee Antivirus software , which I have disabled during the update. I have tried running standalone install programs:
Windows6.1-KB947821-v14-x86.msu, IE9-Windows7-x86-en.exe and setup37561_100_DL.exe, with the same results.
Normally I don't have any problems installing updates.

I have included a summary of my computer?s system and components.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Microsoft's first cumulative update for Windows 10 - KB3081424 - is causing havoc for some users. How do I know this? Because I spent a good part of my Sunday morning dealing with it, that's how.

The problem, in a nutshell, is that the update puts affected systems into an endless crash loop. The update tries to install, gets to a certain point, fails, and then displays the unhelpful "We couldn't complete the updates, undoing the changes."

If it stopped there things wouldn't be too bad, but because Microsoft now forces updates onto Windows 10 users, the OS kept trying - and failing - to install the update, which in turn placed the system into a periodic crash/reboot loop that put quite a dent in my productivity.

I have a Windows 10 system upgraded from Win7. Windows Update failed on this recent cumulative update. The web has lots of hits about this. After trying a number of fixes, the following worked for me:

1. I went into Disk Management and saw that my System Reserved Partition was 100MB vs the minimum recommended (according to some sites) of 400MB.

2. I used MiniTool Partition Wizard (free edition) to resize the System Reserved Partition to 450MB. That required burning a CD from a downloaded ISO.

3. Since the Windows update failed again, I deleted the contents of C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download (I did NOT delete the DOWNLOAD folder itself, just the contents)

4. BINGO! The update installed.

Hope this helps someone else who may have this problem.

A:cumulative security update failed for IE11 for windows 7 64bit

You have a large number of Manifest file problems.

Please download and save the CheckSUR tool from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
(you'll need to look in the details for Windows 7, downloading from the Microsoft Download Center)

Run it - The tool can take anywhere from 5 mins to a couple of hours to run (or 'Install') depending on how much it has to do, and may exit silently - it may appear to freeze for most of that time, but be patient.
The result is logged in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file - and an archive …\checksur.persist.log file

Then zip the CheckSUR.log and upload it to your reply.

Why o why is Microsoft so slapdash with its updates. The error code I am getting covers everything under the sun and offers no solutions to the problem.
I am so fed up following so many leads from its advice pages but can never get to resolving the problem. Is there anyone anywhere that has overcome this problem.
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit IE9.0.1

http news softpedia com news micr te-kb -installation-issues- shtml Microsoft rolled out a new Windows cumulative update for PCs running version Anniversary Update and just as we reported yesterday there were plenty of users who experienced installation issues In a post on the firm s Community forums Microsoft engineers confirm the installation problems and explain that KB3194496 Microsoft 10 Windows Installation Cumulative Update Confirms Issues the team is already investigating and developing a fix Investigating There are no details as to when exactly this new cumulative update fix could be released Microsoft Confirms Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB3194496 Installation Issues but it s worth noting that Microsoft itself says that there s no point in trying to install this cumulative update because it ll keep failing anyway Teams have dug into this issue and do believe the cause has been identified The correct team is developing a fix workaround and once we have the full details we ll be posting that information For your affected machines there s no need to keep attempting the install It ll keep failing In the mean time hold tight We re all over this and will keep sharing information along the way Microsoft says Several company engineers have already joined the discussion thread on the Community forums asking for more details on the problem so it s very clear that the firm is actively investigating the problem What s more frustrating however is that this cumulative update actually experienced the exact same issues when being tested as part of the Windows Insider program but Microsoft shipped it anyway This is a bit odd given the fact that the previous cumulative updates also had problems installing on a number of computers so Microsoft should put more focus on testing these updates before rolling them out to all PCs worldwide In addition to this new cumulative update fix that should land in the next few days Microsoft is also expected to release a new one on October when the company is also shipping Patch Tuesday fixes for all Windows computers CUs for the original Windows version and for November Update should also go live nbsp

This is an interesting move. So those running 7 and 8, how do you feel about this move?

What Microsoft won't be doing after October, however, is shipping the individual hotfixes any more. Fixes will only be available through the Monthly Rollup or security-only update. This means that the ability to pick and choose individual fixes to apply will be removed; they'll be distributed and deployed as a singular all-or-nothing proposition. Microsoft argues that this will improve patch and system reliability.Click to expand...

Okay, I've heard about this horrible update and how it refuses to work, but I went around searching and found no one with the same problem as I did. So here is what happened:
1. I found it through updating, tried to update it, doesn't work (downloaded 9.5 mb, but failure on installation).
2. I manually downloaded from the Microsoft website, installed it, doesn't work (says install failed).
3. I closed everything, including anti-virus (Avast) and firewall. Installed it, doesn't work (same error message).
4. I reboot to try all the above steps again x2, doesn't work (still same error message).

If anyone has a solution to my dilemma, it would be greatly appreciated.

A:Update KB2973201 failing to install repeatedly

If you run the DISM command and it fixes a Windows component you should rerun the sfc command again and reboot the computer. If the update still does not install the update, you could hide it if you are sure you don't need it You could also try a Repair Install and as a last resort, reinstall Windows.

Trying to install the KB3185614 (anniversary 1607) update, but getting the 'couldn't complete the updates undoing changes' messages after 100%.  System log shows a 0x8024200D error code. Tried.... 1. uninstalling all anti-virus apps, inc luding cleanup tools afterwards.2. deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder contents.3. downloading the update manually from the MS catalog site and installing from that4. doing an upgrade install using the latest 1607 iso on a dvd from within Windows Anyhting else I could try before I go for the last resort of a clean install using said dvd?. thanksjoe

The Important Security Update shown in the screenie below keeps reinstalling itself, cueing on the Shutdown button, then installing itself at Shutdown, failing and then repeating process. This has gone on for weeks now it seems.

I have run Option 2 batch file in Windows Update - Reset - Windows 7 Forums twice now.

Any other suggestions short of a Repair Install?
