I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Everything is compatible.
I was told by a friend to be wary of the power supply being only 500W. Would it be recommended to raise it?Click to expand...
The 500W will be fine running a single GTX 760. However you did list a motherboard that supports two cards. AMD Crossfire anyway, there was no mention of SLI support.

Minimum Recommended System Power (W) - 500W

The minimum power specifications have headroom for the average user.
Hey guys I posted a couple weeks ago about a build I was going to do and I listed all the parts. Well I bought the parts yesterday and some are different so I want to see if you guys think everything is compatible. Here it goes
-corsair 8gb ram
-evga gtx 780
-128gb samsung evo pro ssd
-1 tb wd black hdd
Also I only have 3 fans at the moment. Do you think I should get more? Thanks guys
Hi this is my first build needing to know if all these things are compatible and may add a video card in the future.
And is the RAM OK how do I decide what to buy (what are the differences between them)?
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks
I would go with standard 1.5V ram from either crucial or corsair. Next is there a reason why you are going with a micro case? If there is fine however remember that they are smaller inside AND less airflow for cooling.
Here is the support page for the board you selected. Each board maker will have an approved list of memory. Check to be sure the memory you intend on purchasing is on that list.
Hey I'm going to build a new computer soon and I've already decided on the parts but I want to make sure its all compatible can you guys help me out?
List of Parts:
Computer Case: Apevia X-Cruiser 2 Silver
Motherboard: MSI NF980-G65
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 RX750W
Processor: Phenom IIx 970 3.5GHz Black Edition
Processor Cooling Fan: Should be the AMD Black Edition Copper HeatPipe EXTRA Quiet Fan.
RAM: Corsair 16 GB DDR3 1333MHz(4x4 GB)
Video Card: MSI Geforce 550 Ti Overclocked
CD Drive: LG24x Lightscribe DVD-RW
Fans: 3 120mm Fans, 1 Side, 2 back
I'm going to use my current Sata(Maybe Sata2 not sure) Harddrive and then I'm gonna buy a 1 TB Sata2 after I get my computer.
Do you guys know if this is all compatible together?
I am planning to build a PC using the following parts:
Mobo-Gigabyte*GA-890GPA-UD3H*AMD 890GX - Socket AM3
CPU-AMD CPU Phenom II 955 Black Edition Quad Core Processor
RAM-Corsair Memory Vengeance 4GB DDR3 2000 MHz CAS 10 XMP Dual Channel Desktop
GPU-Asus HD 5770 CuCore AMD / ATI Graphics Card - 1GB
HDD-Western Digital Caviar Black 750GB
Optical Drive-Lite-On iHAS124-04
PSU-Corsair Enthusiast Series 650TX
Case-Cooler Master Elite 430
These are my concerns:
I am not sure whether the Mobo is compatible with the CPU
if the PSU is suitable i.e. too much or too little power
whether the GPU would cope well with games like Black Ops etc.
The graphics card is weak.
What's your budget?
i m on my way to building a new pc and so far it s looking good but i want to make sure that what i have chosen will actually work for and in itself compatibility) (part this will work? build here s the build Cooler Master CM-STACKER STC-T -UW Black Silver Aluminum Bezel SECC Chassis ATX Full Tower Thermaltake Toughpower W W RU ATX V EPS V W Power Supply - will this build work? I am building my first computer and am pretty sure all of these parts are compatible, however wanted to check to make sure before making the buy.
Let me know.
and is it worth it to upgrade to this video card?
thanks in advance
I will actually be going with this motherboard/cpu package I think..
and two sticks of ram.
with maybe the upgraded video card
I'll use it primarily for gaming and music production, but for now, let's stick to the gaming part.
CASE: Cooler Master HAF 922
MOBO: ASUS M4A89GTD
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 970
GPU: GeForce GTX 560 Ti
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin
PSU: CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5
Monitor: ASUS VH197D Black 18.5"
Keyboard: Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4
I already have a decent mouse that I use with my lappy.
Are these compatible?
I checked already, and everything seemed to be in place, but I'm also a bit of a n00b, so I could be way off here.
And lastly, any recommendations/part swaps for a cheaper build while also maintaining a comparable level of power?
That PSU is quite a bit of overkill, unless you're considering multiple video cards in the future.
An 18.5" monitor would make me so very, very unhappy. I had two 19" wide screens and got rid of them both almost immediately. 22" is about the sweet spot for the 1680 x 1050 computer 16:10 standard, and you should bump up to 23" if you're going to get a 1920 x 1080P 16:9 ratio panel. There just isn't enough screen height in the smaller panels.
I tried plugging a desktop mouse into my lappy and it didn't work. Don't know if the reverse is true. I didn't try very hard though. Try it first.
You should have enough posts to link your parts choices. Being able to click to the product pages helps us a bunch.
Every time you reinstall Windows and re-enable insider builds, you have to wait several hours until the "Compatibility AppRaiser" runs and the correct build is targeted at your system...
Tipically this process takes 10 to 48 hours or even more.
Is there anyway to force said compatibility checker to run, to get the new build quicker?
If you create an iso each time from the install.esd, then no need to go back to 10586, and you will not have to wait after a clean install.http://www.tenforums.com/windows-insider/43178-any-way-force-preview-build-compatibility-checker-run.html

Personally I wouldn't blow money on an i7-980 1366 based system. Enthusiast level Sandy Bridge products are scheduled before the end of the year and AMD Bulldozer CPUs should be competitive as well, even the 1155 socket Sandy bridge systems are giving very similar performance to that Gulftown processor for a lot less money. I'd rather put the money into better video cards. Also 24Gb of ram is excessive. 8-16Gb is as much as I'd recommend for gaming. If you have other planned uses for the machine then you might have reason to put that much ram in it, otherwise cut back on the ram to at least 16Gb and invest the money into an SSD drive for OS and current games to be stored on. That improves boot speed and loading times for games. Don't think there should be a problem with the H50 in that case. As long as there is clearance between the rear exhaust fan mounting position and the CPU positioning for the radiator and fan to fit then you are good to go.
I am using Win 7 build 7000 and enjoyng a lot, everything works. But, this week i tried to install a program that requires the compatibility mode for win vista, and everytime i run it, the installer crashes.
Is there a way to solve this problem?
So right-clicking te .exe and running troubleshoot compatibility crashes it?
Try XP Sp2 compatibility and even try run as admin too.
Have a nice day!
I'm facing problem with Kaspersky Total Security 2016 and Windows 10 build 10586. When I turn my computer on, it said that both Kaspersky and Windows Defender turned off. But when I check, Kaspersky seems normally (open app windows normally, check and update virus databases normally, check task manager and see Kaspersky services). What's problem with Kaspersky on Windows 10 build 10586, it has no problem with build 10240 before. Is there anyone facing this problem, too?
Windows 10 build 10586 has lots of bugs with me. So disappointed with Microsoft!
A new patch D for 2016MR0c is being tested to give again W10 TH2 support and its new kernel modifications.
I'm testing new upcoming KTS2016MR1 beta (last one 188.8.131.521) in W10 Pro TH2 x64 and working so fine/stable here... I hope RC coming soon.
Hello I recently had issues with my PSU and rather than play guesswork on whether its still functional I rather just replace it My motherboard is a m n -pro Its a bit dated PSU/Mobo compatibility? backwards ATX confusion, V2.3 12V compatibility but ATX 12V V2.3 backwards compatibility confusion, PSU/Mobo compatibility? I d like for this pc to last another months before I build an entirely new rig If I read the manual correctly it requires ATX 12V V2.3 backwards compatibility confusion, PSU/Mobo compatibility? ATX V V The PSU I d like to change to since it just has to last another months this w PSU Would the m n -pro be compatible with this PSU One concern I had was that the m n -pro requires a pin ATX v connector If I read the PSU s specifications correctly it has one V -pin CPU power connector Is that -pin two separate power connector ie do I just use of the connectors to fit into the pin ATX v connector Please excuse my noobishness but what exactly does the v Motherboard specification entail I tried to google it but got less useful information and product results from newegg Also I read the wiki on the ATX V V X standard but it didn t answer my question - is ATX V v backwards compatible with the ATX V v standard Thank you very much for any help you can give nbsphttps://forums.techguy.org/threads/atx-12v-v2-3-backwards-compatibility-confusion-psu-mobo-compatibility.954729/
Can I install Icon Packs designed for Build 7600 to Build 7601?
An Icon Pack was saying install on to 7600 only and after I checked my regedit, I learned that I have 7601 (Probably SP1, I don't know).
Would I have any problems if I install the icon pack?
You can normally install icons anywhere you like, on any machine or system which uses them, they are merely small graphics of various types. Unless the "Icon-pack" is using software to install something else, ( in which case be careful what it does), you can install it anywhere.
Some "Icon-packs" make extensive changes to system files, are dependent on the system to which they are installed, and best avoided.
My win pro build hasn't received the November update build while my other win home versions have I know I'm not the only one having this problem but here's my two cents On my xw I upgraded from win pro to win pro as soon as was available some months ago I still receive other windows updates I downloaded 1511 the 10240 November pro build build received 10 win update hasn't the most recent iso from the media creation tool but I don't have an option to mount it from the right click menu Both sfc and dism have no issues I would burn it do a disk but I've read other users say its just reinstalled build instead I was using another random win pro computer at work today and noticed it hasn't received the November update yet either Anyone else with win pro that did get the update Maybe this issue has more to it like when I upgraded to pro I had an issue with onedrive I don't really use it so I only disabled it from win 10 pro build 10240 hasn't received the November update build 1511 startup in the task manager but it as a service disappeared except for registry entries and program files and win 10 pro build 10240 hasn't received the November update build 1511 I haven't found a way to reinstall it yet I know I could do a clean install of windows but that's not my style I move from pc to pc over the years using disk images win 10 pro build 10240 hasn't received the November update build 1511 This onedrive issue is the only problem I've come across that I haven't figured out without a clean install I mean I wiped onedrive from my system completely registry keys and all but attempts to reinstall fall short error corrupted file During the attempted installation it places all its registry items and files including the file it says is corrupt Copy those files that are working on another computer no dice sfc and dism no issues I'm getting off track I was hoping the November update would fix it but now that's an issue too Maybe Microsoft delayed the November update on win pro Thanks in advance
RE : I downloaded the most recent iso from the media creation tool but I don't have an option to mount it from the right click menu.
Did you burn the iso to a bootable media, then insert the media to the computer ?
If that was what you did, then you would NOT see the Mount option.
Instead, you would see the Setup option. Use that to start the installation.
So recently after the November build release I woke the next morning to find that my computer underwent a rather major update After which it seemed my home network was thrown out of newest build. to previous back rolling after find build Cant wack I immediately rolled reverted recovered to previous build But now everything is out of wack Most of the time I have to restart my computer just so it'll communicate with my printer to start printing And restarting the computer is twice as long if it restarts at all Most of the time It gets stuck in the quot restart quot progress animates the rotating circles and I have to press the restart button on the computer tower with great regret and dread Transferring files from one windows device to another is a hit or miss I'm pissed I'm not literate when it comes to networking and was super happy how everything was But now not only is my wifi home network out of wack but my computer itself is wonky I figure I might as well reinstall the newest build in hopes that it'll at least fix a fe of the problems But anytime I check for updates the newest build no longer shows up Can someone please help

My current system was upgraded to windows 7 32bit from vista 32bit (I bought the windows 7 home premium upgrade disc when it was first released). I am going to build a complete new system. Can I install windows 7 64bit from the same windows 7 disc? Or do I have to buy a new windows 7 disc? Is there a way around buying a whole new disc?
It won't activate and you will end up in Safe Mode permanently. One machne = one license. You need to buy another full version. But you can do it if you don't use 7 on the old machine. You will just have to activate by phone and explain. Then if you go online with both, one will deactivate and go to Safe Mode.

I've been stuck on build 11102.rs1_release.160113-1800.
Going to Settings. Update & Security, Check for updates says "your device is up to date".
Checked for updates at least 10 times and always get the same response "Your device is up to date".
I don't want to download an ISO and clean install - I'd like to get the insider updates through
the standard update process.
Any suggestion or solutions?
Try this - worked for me in a similar situation.
I deleted all folders in the software distribution folder, selected to leave Insider Program from updates menu, rebooted, rejoined Program and then it found the updates. Try just deleting folders first and checking for updates. That works for some but did not for me (it was the leaving and rejoining that seemed to do the trick).
If you try rejoining and leaving, make an image backup of 11102 first, just in case leaving and rejoining should cause it not to activate (especially if you never started from a valid 7/8 licence). Good idea to make the backup anyway in case the upgrade fails (you would then have to go back to 10586 and start afresh)

Do you have the Razer Synapse software installed? That seems to have been what's caused it for me. Unfortunately I seem no longer to be able to trigger the update, darn it, as Windows now feels it has updated and all's fine (it hasn't).
uninstall the Razer software and try again. Hopefully it hasn't messed you up completely.

If I get an .iso of Windows 10 RTM (14393) , I can install over the Preview Build (14931) I'm using without losing my personal files, Win32 programs and applications?
Yes. Mount the ISO file as virtual DVD by double clicking it and launch the Setup.exe to start upgrade.http://www.tenforums.com/installation-setup/65102-install-rtm-build-14393-over-preview-build-14931-a.html
I am currently running OS 7 Beta RC Build 7100. Were do I get this newer version, is there a big difference? And am I able to upgrade to the newer Beta?
I realize that October is fast approaching for the RTM but I plan to keep running the Beta for a couple of months past the Grand Opening.
Is it possible that all the updates that I have received equally add up to the newer build?
I'm still wondering where people got build 7600. :/
I'm running the same build as you, but this beta is gonna expire soon, so we got no choice but to get the RTM.
utorrent isn't working too well whereas it usually does and I want to know what is the best utorrent for vista ultimate x64 build 6001 and also what are the best tweaks and settings for the version I should use please tell me the best/most ideall version and aqlso link me to a tweak/settings guide thanks. hi ,,, i also use utorrent,,, as regards tweeks, there is not much you can do,,, its more to do with your hardware if you want faster and more stable downloads and what profile your broadband is,,, im on an 6meg profile and achive about 5 meg as im about 2km fromthe exchange,,, i use a site called kitz.com in the uk and they sugest useing a router and resetting the MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximum_transmission_unitif files collide then it has to be sent again,,, if the mtu is set to high it could be to fast and collisions happen and it has to be sent to you again slowing the download,,, default for ethernet setup on a windows os is 1500,,, to high,,, i reset mine to 1423 and torrents take less time now because files dont have to be re sent.http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/index.htmlook in ADSL tab at the top of the page and then "tweeking mtu" ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, good luckhttp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/149849/best-utorrent-build-for-vista-ult-x64-build-6001/
Windows 7 has reached RTM builds
and there will be several candidate builds in RTM.
first candidate build of RTM is build 7260.
6.1.7260.0.win7_rtm.090612-2110 - RTM branch build
compiled on 12 june.
You may ask why the first assembly win7_rtm has already been collected on 12 June not 15 June. There are several working groups involved in the process of assembling win 7 RTM build and will be assessing the quality of assemblies. Once the assembly is collected and its quality is confirmed, only then they put to the vote.
you may take time to understand all of these steps and procedures, so only the assembly from June 12 and June 15, attained the status of the real candidates for the final RTM release.

Build 237 (2015-02-10) BETA
IMPROVED: Malware removal on Windows 8.
Build 236 (2015-02-10)
FIXED: Handling of Proxy Auto-Config (PAC) files.
ADDED: Command line switch /proxy=<noproxy|auto|wpad|http:|serverort>
IMPROVED: Remnant scanner.
Somewhat unusual situation here. A machine running the latest build (11102) got badly infected by malware. It was such a major attack that I was about to reload the earlier day's image from my Windows Home Server. But it seemed even easier to revert to the previous build, not yet removed from the Windows.old folder. This I did, and everything soon was running fine as expected.
The issue is that the Updates check is not offering Build 11102 again. This isn't a showstopper; I'm sure there will be another newer build soon. But it would be nice to be back up on this latest build, just as all my other Win10 machines are running.
Does anyone know how to make this happen?
If you have set it on Fast ring, it will be updated after 24 hrs, so need to be patient.
After updating to this insider build my start menu, cortana menu,WiFi menu and action center do not work, how can I fix these?
Also sfc /scannow does not work "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service." - FIXED with batch file
Settings menu will not open since the start menu wont, even the personalization menu from the desktop does not open.
Assuming you updated to 14295 through Windows Update ?
If yes, try to reinstall using the newly released 14295 ISO file.....
Download the iso file that corresponds to your Win 10 Insider Preview version ( i.e. language and bit-version )> save it to a folder.
Right click at the iso file > click Mount > click Setup.exe.
Installation will begin.
No product key is required.
Activation will be automatic.
Hopefully, reinstall will fix the problems.
I'm Tired Of Still Formatting My PC When Evered Anew Build Is Released
Can I Update Win 7 From Build To Build Without Formatting ?
Quick Answer: Yes
You could upgrade from a build to another build but it is recommended to do a clean install.

Ive recently built a new comp and put win 7 on it. Now, I was wondering about the new/differant builds. Looks like I have build 7100. And thus far really like, alot!
Should I download a new build?
What are the differences? Will I notice?
Where Do I get new builds?
The new build (7127 is the only new 1 so far) is available on most torrent sites. If you are having no issues with the RC build 7100 then you may not notice any difference, although, 7127 does seem a bit faster.http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/11123-should-i-upgrade-my-win-7-build-newer-build.html

Good, except for the E6600. Get the E6400 and overclock it (should overclock well with that board and your ram, without blowing up your processor in 3 years). Will save you quite a bit of money that way.
Also just a personal recommendation. Get the Enermax Noisetaker II 485W PSU instead.
I seem to be stuck on Windows Insider build 14342 (Version 1511 OS Build 14342.1002). Since this build was installed, I haven't gotten any other insider builds.
Any ideas on how to fix this? I want to avoid having to reinstall if possible.
Is there a way to manually install build 14352, the one that followed the one I'm stuck on?

Hello Pkshadow Welcome to the Ten Forums!
The prompting you are seeing is most likely to get you to notice and install updates that have been accumulating. Otherwise that is a strange one. You might have to sign into an MS account if you already had one setup in order to see that account's information updated on the change from Insider to Anniversary. That would then see everything synced properly.
A buddy of mine is looking to build a new computer and turned to me for advice I got some help here last year on my build and I never did post a follow up so here s what I ended up with CPU Intel Core Duo E Wolfdale GHz overclocked to Build Update New Help Build and GHz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP -UD P LGA Intel P Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX GB overclocked HSF Xigmatek HDT-S mm Rifle CPU Cooler with Xigmatek Retention Bracket HDD Western Digital Caviar Black GB Build Update and New Build Help RPM CD DVD Burner Samsung X DVD -R DVD Burner RAM G Skill Build Update and New Build Help PI Black GB x GB DDR PSU Corsair CMPSU- TX W Thermal Compound Arctic Cooling MX- OS Windows Build Update and New Build Help Vista Ultimate -Bit Case NZXT Tempest ATX Mid Tower Monitor Acer X Wbd Black quot ms Widescreen LCD Speakers Logitech S- Multimedia Speaker System I m happy with the choice I made and never looked back The build went smooth and I m looking forward to doing another one in the future I keep myself up date on everything new that s out The only problem is that my friend is looking at cheaper products that I haven t looked into nor do I have the time Here is what he s looking for Budget No gaming He ll be using the computer for browsing the web hosting web sites and that s about it He does want a fast CPU though TB HDD He already has a monitor keyboard and mouse At least GB of RAM He would like to not have to upgrade for a few years He s majoring in a computer related field and he s a sophomore Any help would be greatly appreciated nbsp
As you know you'll get some great help here so I'll suggest that he consider an AMD build. For what he wants to do and his budget he can get a very, very nice build especially since he won't be gaming.
Consider the AMD AM3 Propus 620 quad core 2.6 GHz for $99.00 at NewEgg with free shipping and for a few dollars more there is the 630 @ 2.8 Ghz. Both chips are getting great reviews.
I just got my income tax return back and now it's time to update my PC. Please bear in mind I'm a newb!
I want to keep the following:
1. Corsair 750W PSU,
2. Antec 1200 case, and
3. EV3A 460GTX 756MB GPU.
In other words I likely need a new motherboard, processor, cooling fan for the processor, RAM, etc. I don't know if I'll need a sound card or ethernet card or if on-board will be good enough. I've heard from a couple friends that Asus Mobos are good. I think I want to go to an Intel processor as that's what I've had to this point and it's done well for me.
What are your thoughts? Where should I start looking?
I dont know a lot about computers. My first build is corei7920.what is the best ram for performance? I will be using 6GB but I will not be overclocking.I just want to use the ram as it comes in the package at stock settings.ASUS P6T SE motherboard?GTX 260 graphics, antec 1200 case,300GB velociraptor,windows7 I have read that corei7 can only use ram at 1066 speed w/out o.c.This motherboard can use 1333 ram w/out o.c. I do not mind spending a little extra $ for good ram, but I am confused. Not overclocking because I dont know how yet.I have not bought anything yet.
Type your motherboard into the right places when www.crucial.com comes up. This is a good standard for what you want, then build on that by going to other sites.

So is it possible to build pc with these parts?
Sorry I'm from lithuania and my online shops are lithuanian laguage. But Names of parts is in english
The issue I see: your mobo supports "ONLY" 4th gen CPU and your CPU of choice is a 5th gen (gen=generation). Even though the mobo is socket 1150, same as CPU, there may bay some firmware incompatibilities. Not sure if there is a BIOS update for the mobo to support 5th gen CPU's, which I doubt it does.
So you may want to consider a new mobo that supports intel's 5th gen series CPU's. Also; there's no mention of a PSU (power supply). I would also move up to a GTX 970 GPU....it's just a better GPU period.
Does the home premium of win7 have the compatibily capability ?
I am looking into developing apps on Windows 8 using my desktop and laptop, which are both running Windows 8 Pro x64. I do not own any physical Windows RT devices. Is there any way to emulate Windows RT on Windows 8 Pro or does Metro handle the compatibility (sort of like Java between Windows and other OSs)?
Also, I have Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate installed.
I am looking at getting a new psu and hdd but after a heap of searching the internet to determine compatibility with my existing system, I'm still not 100% sure.
I'm thinking of an Antec ATX Smartpower 450W ver2 and a Maxtor250G 7200rpm 16M cache HDD.
My existing specs are...
DFI AD77 VIAKT400 (not Infinity model)
Award BIOS v6.00PG
AMD Athlon 2800+ (Barton core)
2x256M PC3200 HTL
1x512M PC3200 Kingmax SuperRam
nVidia Geforce 6600GT 128M AGP
Do you think the new psu/hdd would be suitable for this setup?

System Specs are fully updated.

I need to add RAM. It currently has 4GB, but it isn't sufficient. I have to use VMWare workstation, Microsoft Office, Google Chrome, and possibly Microsoft Project, and other high resource software.
It says both slots are occupied (I am guessing 2GB per slot).
How difficult is it to replace? Is it worth it?
Average cost? Can you recommend one? Ideally, 6GB-8GB is desirable. I don't have much to spend.
I am an Information Systems student (for tech knowledge).
It would be nice to find the motherboard manual. It would give needed information.
I Googled and all I got was a bunch of eBay stuff and some chop stick websites.

How do tell what psu my pc is compatible with?
You don't have to worry about psu compatibility. What you have to worry about is if it will fit in the slot and if it has the proper cables; i.e molex cables if the gpu requires them. A psu is one of the only pieces of hardware that doesn't have to match the motherboard/cpu.
I bought a wireless xbox gaming receiver from ebay, and the seller didn't make it clear enough for me to notice that it only works on 32 bit: White PC Wireless Controller Gaming Receiver Adapter for Microsoft Xbox 360 | eBay
Is there any way to use it while playing my games on the 64 bit version?
Bonus: can i use the headset with it while gaming online?
It states pretty clearly in the advert that it's for 32bit only???
I'd just relist it and put it down to experience.
Hi To whoever replies THANK YOU INFINITY for taking the time because I Compatibility know there s not a short or easy answer to my question Yet I have looked through other posts unable to find the answers I m looking for hence why I m making this post And it doesn t matter if Compatibility everything I ask doesn t get answered help is help no matter what and I appreciate it all the same My question is if I buy parts to build my own new PC from scratch what specs do Compatibility I have to be very careful to look for to make sure all the components CPU video card PSU RAM Compatibility MOBO etc are compatible with each other I don t want to tell you what parts I will buy and then for you to tell me if they are compatible or not cause I m not even sure what I will buy yet NO I want to understand these specs so I can choose on my own Also the model names and specs of the different components are confusing to me as well because I don t know whether they refer to performance or compatibility or both For example Intel Core i - K LGA CPU or Geforce GT -bit GDDR video card I know that LGA is the type of socket on the CPU and that must match the motherboard but other than that I know nothing and that s just one component Like what about the amount of watts my PSU needs for the components I choose how can I verify this manually not via some website calculator In conclusion I want to know all the information that s relevant regarding compatibility so I know all the components I buy will work with each other Thank you nbsp
CPU's are easy, every motherboard manufacturer has a list of compatible CPU's and the required BIOS version. Look at the list and find one of those processors.
The motherboard manufacturer may also have a list of compatible, in reality just ones they have tested, memory modules and video cards. Most big memory manufacturers also have lists/tools that will list compatible/tested memory modules, for example www.crucial.com
Most video cards pretty much work with most motherboards. With video cards you have to make sure you have a quality power supply with sufficient wattage. Video card manufacturers will list a general recommended wattage for the power supply, that's for an average system with that card. They may also list the actual wattage the card itself will use.
Best way to figure out how much power your system will use is to actually use one of the those website calculators, someone has already done the work for you, no need to re-invent the wheel, Be sure to leave some headroom from growth and get a quality power supply. If the system will be used for gaming or intensive workloads then get a proper power supply for that for example Corsair has a CS/CX line for basic use and then it has better AX/HX lines for gaming systems, etc.
Also be sure the components will meet your needs. You wouldn't buy a AMD APU system for a high end gaming system nor would you want to use a GT 730 as it's a low end. This is where online benchmarks and charts come in useful. Tom's Hardware has good hierarchy charts for both CPU's and GPU's and there's also the PassMark website as well. Actual model numbers are useful only to a point, yes an i7 will generally be faster than an i3 but not always and not for all tasks. Also model numbers don't really do anything for comparisons between Intel and AMD processors.
Does anyone know of any AGP conflicts between versions or specific cards?
I am having trouble with a machine I am building. I get no video and get a beep pattern of 1-4-3-3, which is not defined by the manual.
I am attempting to use a Voodoo3 1000 that I pulled from a Compaq Presario 5852 with an Intel SE440BX-2 mobo. The mobo was brand new.
I am hoping that it is not a bad mobo or vid card. I tried reseating the card about half a dozen times.
You are going to need another video card to test it or another system you can put that card in. Double check all of your jumpers and switches if any. You might want to look at you clear cmos jumper to make sure it is in the proper position. If you have some extra memory or more than one stick you might want to reduce it to just one stick or try some new memory.
I posted a computer build a while back and was told I should consider a different mobo I was hoping for some feedback to see if I have anything conflicting here Mobo http www newegg com product product asp item N E Power supply http www newegg com product product asp item N E Ram http www newegg com product product asp item N E Here is the entire build https secure newegg com NewVersion Wishlist PublicWishDetail asp WishListNumber amp WishListTitle donnies pc I tried to have a look and make sure I would be able to hook up the power supply to the mobo but cant be sure Guess thats a main worry of mine Hope nothing looks silly and it is possible I have under or overkill Feel free to let me know if compatibility does here? my look How I have done something stupid This is my first build thus the really stupid questions And as always thank you so much for any help nbsphttps://forums.techguy.org/threads/how-does-my-compatibility-look-here.595889/
I'm looking to get a AGP mid-range graphics card to last my PC another year or so before I upgrade to a PCI one. My power supply is relatively weak so I can't get into anything really good but these two cards, XFX GeForce 7600GT 256MB and the SAPPHIRE Radeon X1650PRO 256MB , were the two recommended to me. I currently have an Radeon 9600 in the system with an Asus A7N8X v2.0 Deluxe motherboard. Would I have problems switching to the 7600GT? I have already checked the power and memory requirements, is there anything else I need to be sure of before buying either of them?
Just make sure to uninstall the old driver before you install the new card / driver.
I've read through several of these posts and am still having issues regarding the downloading of CS4 on Windows 7. I get an error message during the disc one phase, it says to contact adobe costumer service, yet get no real answers through Adobe. Is there something I'm missing? Any Solutions?
Have you clean your registry before having the Install?
Or have you tried another CS4 installer?

I am buying a new processor for my motherboard and was wondering if this would work?
Via P4M800Pro-M478 (obviously Socket 478)
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 3.0E Prescott (what's e stand for?) @ 3.0ghz w/1MB L2 Cache
The reason why I ask is that it has the letter "e" at the end of the name and that someone who wrote a review had trouble with his motherboard.
That will work with socket 478. The guy who said he had a problem with the socket probably had a different socket and was a newb. All socket 478 procs fit all socket 478 mobos and your mobo is compatible with this proc. Enjoy... and get urself a new vid card.
Is there a way I can run a program in x32 bit mode or something?
Reason being is I need to extract the ROM from my TI-83+ calculator, and I cant do that because it says I need a x32 bit OS.
Does it involve installing a device driver? If so then maybe not.
Though have you tried running in any of the cmpatibility modes? THose might fake the program out enough that it'll stop balking at finding a 64bit OS. But then if your installing a device driver you could be taking a chance on causing a problem. A lot of people install older drives and they ususaly work ok but then a lot of them fail causing all sorts of boot/bsod troubles.
Can a CD made up of audio and video via the Movie Maker feature of Windows ME be played on a standard DVD player attached to, for instance, a TV? In other words, I would like to share my home movies with others who have a DVD player for their TV I know that DVD players can play audio CDs. Thank you.
Nope. DVD players only play audio CDs and DVDs. They can't play computer generated data CDs.

vaio pcg-grt25 at some time i'm going to replace the lcd panel. where can i find which different models of lcd's or vaios i can get a screen?
I think you're going to be very limited in what you can replace this panel with. Even if the physical LCD display is the same as another make/model, the controller and the mounting hardware is normally unique to a specific model laptop.
on the specification part of a certin motherbord, ive read a description that says
"DDR3 1600 with Intel? Ivy Bridge CPU, DDR3 1333 with Intel? Sandy Bridge CPU."
does this mean that if my processor is ivy, (i3 3210) then the only compatibility memory that i can use is ddr3 1600mhz? would 1333mhz work on this specific processor?
ASRock > H61M-VS3
I can say with 100% confidence that 1333MHz Ram will work fine on that motherboard and with that CPU.
I cannot fugre out how to tell if these are compatible. I have to replace my motherboard so have decided to upgrade to a dual core processor. The motherboard I picked because it has an AGP slot so I can still use the current video card. If these don't fit together, it would be easier to decide on a different CPU than a MB.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Manchester 2.4GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor - Retail
ASRock 939Dual-VSTA Socket 939 ULi M1695 ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
I would really appreciate some advice. I want to spend as little as possible so if you have better choices let me know.
What I have to have is SATA, mem cap 4 gb (DDR 440), at least 6 channel audio, and at least 1 AGP slot.
Both are socket 939, and the motherboard supports dual core processors, so you're good to go.
One question though, why are you building a new dual-core rig with an AGP slot???
(BTW - you specify 'at least one AGP slot' when there have never been any boards made ever with more than one. Dual-card setups are only available in PCI-Express)
AGP is dwindling since PCI-E came out, and pretty soon, will be extinct. I'd suggest finding a motherboard with a PCI-E slot instead.
EDIT - - - Never mind, I see that you want to keep your existing Vid card. However, if you can scrape it together, you'd be WAY better off to upgrade your video card too, and go PCI-Express. Otherwise, your whole system will be out of date very quickly.
Hi All I ve just bought an PII PIII m board that has a mhz bus The reason i why i bought it was because i thought my parents old PIII m board was faulty freezing and two or three popped caps and this board was the exact same board However it did not turn out to be the m board so i thought i might just use it for another basic compatibility RAM PC The problem is i ve put PC MB and PC MB into the m board The pc boots up fine to the BIOS screen but hangs after the memory test everytime This happens with only AGP card installed hdd fdd cd modem etc are all disconnected I thought it maybe a quot halt on all errors quot setting within the BIOS due to me only having a USB keyboard but i ve since attached a PS keyboard with no luck however i cant get to the BIOS Can anyone tell me if my RAM is compatible I still need to flash the firmware to get it up to scratch however i RAM compatibility cant even get it past this memory test to do it Any help would be great thanks Regards Steve nbsp
Hey Basically I have compatibility CPU an Acer EM SM EM PM motherboard It currently has an AMD Sempron Processor Socket AM nm technology I m Looking to upgrade this to a decent dual core processor say GHz But Im not sure if there will be any compatibility issues I originally thought that any AM processor would be fine no matter what the GHz I still believe this to be true But after researching I have found that AM processors can be used in AM slots but some motherboards apparently have compatibilty problems or limitations to the processor itself I was wondering if anyone could tell me if AM processors will work in my motherboards AM slot and would there be any drawbacks For example would there be so many drawbacks from using an AM processor in my AM slot that it would actually be worth using an AM processor with the same GHz Finally if you could recommend any processors it would be great Thankyou nbsp
Is the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT compatible with the HP Pavilion dv6648se?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Compatibility/td-p/5756411
One of our new computers is using 8.1 and our antiquated database which uses a runtime version of Filemaker Pro 3 will not run. It does run on our home computer which also has 8.1 and it runs in Windows 7 and Windows 8. Tried all the compatibility troubleshooting options. Any ideas why it will run on one and not the other?
(bear with me im new at this kind of computer stuff)
i have a Intel P4 cpu 1.6ghz processor (socket 478), if it is a willamette could i use it on a mobo that says it supports presscott cpus? and what is the differance between the two?
okay, so i'm running win10 on my laptop...well i suppose that's obvious... but anyways, win10 can run apps. hurrah for apps. NOW, i was wanting to play a SPECIFIC app that is only made for android phones.
app can be found here https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ssellate&hl=en
now if apps are apps, no matter the phone/op system, then win10 should be able to make it work, but i have no idea how to do that.help?
Hi - I am due to visit USA in the next couple of weeks and have heard that my visit will coincide with release of the new Play Station Portable (PSP) gaming device on 24th March
If I purchase one in the states aside from having to use a charging adaptor, would there be any compatibility issues when bringing it back to the UK. I understand the games that are being released will be region free so there are no problems there.
I have a 5yr old Dell Dimension.
How do i determine if i have USB 1, or 1.1?
And...if a CD drive is usb 2.0, will it communicate
with my Dell's USB ports?
A USB 2.0 drive will work as it's backwards compatible. It just won't work to specification that's all.
The following were not compatible with my Win 7 prior to the Win 8 upgrade;
1-dvds -does this mean I cannot play commercial videos but can still play my home dvds? How do I get get a codec for commercial dvds?
2-secure boot -I do not know how to rectify this -is this Bios?
3-screen resolution and snap I assume does not apply to my desktop
4-tv -I do not want
5-MSE -I can use Win 8 Defender in its place, I think
6-Avisynth2.5 - I can reinstall but do not know where to get it
If you could briefly point me in the right direction I would be very grateful; especially the first two.
I wonder if these can be done after upgrading?
1) you need to install a app like WinDVD, PowerDVD, Nero show.
2) is for uEFI BIOS.
3) Update drivers, IF ANY
5) MSE & Win 8 Defender are the same.
i have a HP PSU compatibility p - c computer and i am using a Bestec ATX- - Z-D R psu that has watts which is weak i want to know is using a different brand of psu with different specs is ok to use with my pc or do i have to use that same model of psu i wanted to buy like a watt startech psu if i don t need to use a replacement psu of bestec watt psu PSU compatibility because i heard bad things about bestec power supplies Is a different brand or model of psu going PSU compatibility to have the right adapters on it to use right away on my pc I keep thinking there are didn t adapters on all atx power supply units so i am not sure if others are compatibie with my pc help please I want this psu for to use with a HD gb video card i plan to purchase soon any ideas what i should do nbsp
If the PSU is stamped as a ATX PSU, and not some oddly sized OEM style version then you can upgrade it with any ATX type PSU.
Any half decent PSU will have all the connectors you need included. I would recommend you purchase a 500W PSU to give a little additional headroom.
What is your budget for a new PSU and I'll recommend a few.
Hello This is my first attempt at a build and my hardware knowledge is limited compared to my software compatibility I have used PC parts Picker but Micro Center is near me so I built this desktop there Now I need to see if it all fits and is compatible ITEMQTYTOTAL Microsoft Windows Pro -bit - pk DSP OEM DVD SKU Intel Core i - GHz LGA Boxed Processor SKU Corsair Vengeance Series GB x GB DDR - PC SKU EVGA GQ Watt Gold Semi Modular ATX Power S SKU Corsair Carbide Series SPEC- Mid Tower Gaming Co SKU ASUS Z -AR LGA ATX Intel Motherboard SKU ASUS x Internal DVDRW SATA Writer SKU Samsung EVO Series GB SATA compatibility III Gb s quot I SKU Subtotal In-store Pickup Tax Grand Total BIOS does it need flashing paste needed or not with Intel more cables fans Is there a site where I can enter these parts to see if they are compatible or is there some one who an help me I wold gladly check this with PC PP but I cannot figure how to enter it unless it is built there If I build it at PC PP a lot of parts are not available at Micro Center Thanks for taking a look Peter
The mainboard will ship with current bios at time of manufacture, the processor may or not come with paste, and you should get cables with your components. I think that case only ships with one fan but has the capacity for five, you should have at least one fan in and one fan out. Check the individual part specifications on Micro Center's or the manufacturer's websites. Asus's MB specs will tell what processors, memory, ect. are compatible with their product. You will also find the extra cables and accessories that are packaged with the individual parts. I would definitely consider a graphics card and an extra HDD for storage. If you plan to use the machine for gaming, video editing or other processor intense applications look into a better cooler to replace the stock Intel one.
Will this work as a boot drive on my Alienware 17 R3 so that I can boot Windows 10 from it?
Samsung 850 EVO MZ-N5E500BW
Hi,Ideally you should be able to boot windows 10 from it. Just make sure that drivers are available for the ssd, incase it is requried at time of the OS installtion on the m2 SSD.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19995756
I was curious that if I start out with a Pentium 4-M 1.7 GHZ CPU which uses the Intel 845MP chipset, would I be able to use a CPU such as a Pentium M (Socket 478, of course) when the Pentium M needs the 855 chipset series?
If they both have the same Socket then they will work
Is spybot - search and destroy immunization, spywareblaster, and ie-spyad all compatible together?

I use all 3 and they work fine together.
Is it ok to have installed in my PC AntivirXP and Sygate Firewall??
If you mean the XP firewall and Sygate then the answer is no. You need to disable one or the other, I recommend turning off the XP firewall and going with Sygate.
My HP Pavilion DV666OSE laptop had a hardware failure two months ago. The original hard drive was a 250GB 5400RPM SATA 1 HDD. This specific kind of HD is not made any longer. My question is this: is a SATA II or SATA III HDD operating at a much higher RPM compatible with my system?
Based on the HP Pavilion dv6500, dv6600, and dv6700 Entertainment PCs - Maintenance and Service Guide, the following were factory installed hard drives in the series; 2.5-inch hard drives x 9.5-mm, Serial ATA? 250-GB, 5400-rpm? 200-GB, 4200-rpm? 160-GB, 5400-rpm? 120-GB, 5400-rpm? 80-GB, 5400-rpm Any like drive of the 2.5" SATA II/III 7mm/9.5mm variety will work just fine. This includes drives with higher rotational speeds, as well as many 2.5" SATA III SSD (solid state drives). The only issue you may encounter is use of your HP Recovery Media may not function properly, leaving you without an operating system. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Good afternoon, I have been fortunate enough to get my hands on an xw8600 which from my understanding is a s775 motherboard. I was able to get high performance heatsinks gammaxx300 and although are not the oem , I have modded the heatsink clamps so that the fit the mobo. Thanks again for all the prior info but I have just one more question if I may.. Since the x5460's i bought are from a 771 mobo , do I still need to apply the mod stickers to run them on the board or are they just plug and play with this mother board. I did take what you said into consideration about getting the 5450 and the xw6600 but since i had already purchased the 5460's i tried getting a good deal on the mobo which luckily came through. Thanks again in helping me get through this journey.
If you get the xw8600 QuickSpecs via a Google search you can look up any of the dual-core or quad-core processors for that motherboard and find that they all are LGA771 socket processors..... your X5460 is listed in those QuickSpecs and that is why they will work on your motherboard. That is not a LGA775 motherboard. Those tab things won't work on these HP motherboards.... the motherboard looks at the sSpec code of the processor, which you cannot change, and if it is not on the approved microcode list it won't fire up (there are some very rare exceptions). You need to read up on my post on how to spoof the motherboard of a xw8600 to think that is has a "Performance" heatsink and fan, I believe, because it is my understanding that the motherboard can tell if you are running processor(s) that are 120W max TDP or hotter, and wants to see the higher performance double fan double tall heatsink over each of those processors. It is all in the forum.... you'll need dig a bit. You have the key words to search under now.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Xw-compatibility/td-p/5569115

Yes, that should work with what you already have.
I'm making a new computer with mostly new parts and some old. Will a motherboard that has a DDR2 1200Mhz Standard still run 4GB (2 x 2) 1066Mhz Ram?
Which motherboard are you referring to? The asus mentioned in your sig?
I have a Dell Inspiron 570. I need to purchase a new external hard drive and most drives currently available are USB3.0. Will these external drives operate with this computer?
Dennis ([email protected])
USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0 so if you only have 2.0 ports you shouldn't have any issues using the 3.0 drive, it just won't run at full 3.0 speed.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3514/t/19978077

Ritsune, welcome to the forum. While this is a Hewlett Packard (HP) help forum, you gave enough of the specs for me to be able to find your Dell online. From what I can see, I believe that the video card should be compatible. The GT 610 series of video cards doesn't require UEFI in the motherboards instead of a standard BIOS. I am pleased that you trusted this Forum enough to post on it. If I can be so bold as to make a suggestion, the next time that you buy a new computer, I would like to suggest that you consider HP. You evidently have come to know how good the support is for their computers or you wouldn't be here.
