I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello! I have made many driver pachages and image loads of lenovo pc, but i cant figure this one out. I think I have spent 4 hours of researching and I have realised I need to put down my pride. I need help. Using:Sccm 2007.WinPe 3.1 I'm using the Onelink+ pro usb to RJ45 adapter to get ethernet. It says it supports PXE. We use winpe 3.1 and want to deploy Win7.I have added all the drivers from Lenovo sccm pachage. I have turned "only legacy" in the bios. I have added the USB3 Exstension driver to both the image and WinPE. I get to download the Winpe and start it up. It have an IP and shows activity untill it start Winpe and check connectivity. It show error, but simply just reboot. When i f8 and type ipconfig /all it shows nothing. Please help me.

I recently got a X1 carbon 4th gen (20FB), and I have been super happy with its performance. However, it seems like whenever I have the laptop closed, the keyboard is leaving a mark on the screen. I sent it to repair, and they changed the screen, but that didn't seem to fix it. I noticed that the body and the lid are not perfectly aligned - one of the corners of the lid seems to be jutting out a little bit with respect to the rest of the body. I've attached picture to show this. I'm not sure if this is a part of the general design of the Carbon.  Can anyone with a X1 carbon 4th gen confirm that this alignment feature is not present in their machine? Thank you ?

Hi, We are having an issue with our X1 Carbon's(20FB). The audio output via an HDMI cable works, we see the Epson speakers in the playback devices. After the user is logged on for a while, the speakers will no longer showup in the playback devices and the auidio will just come through the laptops speakers. After we restart the computer, the audio will again work and play to the speakers. Windows 7 X64 Any help or thoughts on this is greatly appreciated.  Thanks,John

Hi, does anyone know if there is a list of compatible embedded LTE chips that will work on a X1 Carbon 20FB?  The reason why I ask this is bec the current model, EM7455, only operates at some frequencies that some abroad contries do not support and the older models such as the EM7355 support those frequencies.  One being GSM.  I tired to install a EM7355 into my 20FB laptop but the bios isn't allowing it. Thanks!

A:X1 Carbon 20FB Embedded LTE Compatibility

EM7455 is versatile enough and supports a lot of 4G/LTE including LTE-A and 3G bands worldwide. It does not support 2G (GPRS/EDGE) access technology.

Hi, I've got an X1 Carbon 20FB (4th gen), and noticed it doesn't have Lenovo System Update on it, which I've found useful in the past. So I went to the Lenovo downloads site and found System Update, but it doesn't list the 20FB as one of the X1 Carbons it supports - it only goes up to 20BS, 20BT: (See the "Note for ThinkPad X1 Carbon users") Should I avoid downloading System Update then? I've not noticed anything that's not functioning, but I figured it makes sense to keep things up to date from a security and features point of view. Why is it not included by default? Thanks for any advice!

I'm setting up a new X1 Carbon with machine type 20FB. It came with a Samsung MZNTY256HDHP SSD. I noted there was a recent SSD firmware update package for this laptop model, so I downloaded and ran the updater. It reported there were no updates. However, after digging a bit deeper, I discovered that the SSD firmware updater for the X1 Carbon 20A7/20A8/etc. DOES have an update for the SSD in this machine. What is going on here? Does this firmware update somehow only apply when the SSD is installed in a 20A7? Or did this particular model of SSD just get missed when Lenovo was putting together the firmware update package for the 20FB?

Hello, I have this problem for month now :I close my X1 Carbon lid before going to bed, and in the morning, when I resume it from hibernation, the trackapd and trackpoint are totally unresponsive. Everything else work fine, I just have to wait, sometimes 20/30sec, sometimes a whole minute, to have the trackpad working. This is very frustrating to have a computer resuming so fast from hibernation but being unable to use it. I have the latest BIOS (1.15), latest UltraNav driver ( several drivers uninstallation/reinstallation, several fresh windows install, problem is still present. Actually on a fresh install of Windows 10 64bit (Anniversary update).

Hi, trying to get a Windows 7 Install done on a Carbon X1 2016 20FB w/ Samsung950 Pro. Bios 1.14 (latest as of May 2016)Special issue is, I need to get it done in a Legacy mode (BIOS,MFT style). I was able to install Win7 based on a win7 image that got the 950pro drivers and the USB3 drivers infused through NTLITE, and then I build an image with Rufus 2.9 (both UEFI/GPT and UEFI/MFT) worked, with the X1 BIOS was set up to UEFI only with CSM.BUT I need to to run on the BIOS setting 'Legacy' and in MFT style, b'cause the special Win7 installer I need to use does not support anything else. I know, sounds weird, but..... . So- is there a fundamental limitation against booting / installing a Win7 on a Carbon X1 2016 20FB - Samsung950 Pro in Legacy 7 MFT mode?

Hi all, I have the X1 Carbon 2016 (20FB) and it is running Windows 10 Enterprise. I have all the lastest Windows and Lenovo updates. It all works pretty well except when it comes to starting back from sleep mode. I have the laptop configured to go to sleep when I close the lid. However when I reopen the lid, the power button and keyboard lights come on but the display stays off. Opening and closing the several times doesn't help. The only way to get the display to turn on is to quickly press the power button. This puts the laptop to sleep. If I press the power button again the laptop comes back to life and the display works again. Anyone else have this issue? Any possible solutions? Thanks,Ian

Just got my brand new X1 Carbon (4gen 2016/20FB) with the 512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD (THNSN5512GPU7). Was expecting a blazing fast disk, but it felt sluggish something that AS SSD Benchmark confirms (see attachment). According to the specs this drive should offer up to 2400 Mb/s read and 1500 Mb/s write. But I get 1800 MB/s read and abysmal 113 MB/s write. The machine has all the latest updates from Lenovo (incl BIOS) and all the drivers for Windows 10. Anyone else tested their drives? Found a Dell XPS owner with the same drive that complained about the same issue. Turning off windows write cache buffer flushing does help, but that is not a good answer.

Hi, I updated my X1 Carbon 4th gen to 1.17 BIOS, and since then, opening the lid won't wake the computer from hibernation, except when plugged.Bios changelog states Disabled the power button when the computer is in battery mode and the
computer lid is closedbut when I read "power button", I don't think "this is gonna break the behavior of the lid". And of course, no rollback is possible from 1.17, so I'm stuck with a computer wich won't wake from hibernation correctly. I just can advise you all to not upgrade bios, and see what's inside the next version...

Lenovo Gen 4(20FC) Carbon loses audio after Lenovo System Update We have several of the Gen 4 X1 Carbons here at work and they work fine until Lenovo system updates gets run. We have had 4 people run the system updates and now the system has no audio. If you click the audio icon in the try, windows begins diagnosing the system. If you try to install a different driver, it fails with code 1. No matter if you uninstall, reinstall, different versions of the driver....nothing seems to restore the audio. I finally did a system restore to before lenovo system update was run and the audio returned to working. It seems to be a software problem but I would really like to know if there is some way to get it working without having to restore every time someone runs lenovo system update.

I bought my X1 Carbon Touch 2014 brand new about 2 months ago.Today was a normal day, I set it to sleep before leaving work and came home. A few hours later, I pulled my laptop out and connected AC and pressed the power button. It woke up normally into the login screen so I swiped my finger to login and 1~2 seconds after, the screen suddenly turns funny and then shows black screen (I think it powred off or something at this point). And then it turns on (but not the screen) briefly for about 1 second and then turns off, turns on for 1 second and turns off, and repeat... I tried the reset button and it made it stop the loop. But then whenever I try to power it on it starts that loop again and I have to use the reset button to power it off (holding the power button will not stop the loop). Also, pressing the reset button does not stop the loop when the laptop is plugged into AC.. I have work tomorrow and this is my work laptop.... Any ideas of what's wrong??This is so disappointing. It will be a huge headache if I have to send this in to Depot as our company policy requires the SDD to be wiped before sending it in for repair.   UPDATE:Seems like I'm doomed now. After leaving it for a while I powered it on and it powered up normally and went to boot screen. I chose to normally boot up window but then screen turned blank again... After that, trying to power it up will again enter that power on/off loop. So I reset it again and left it for a while. Then powered it on again and it shows the boot screen normally. I chose Safe Mode this time and it asked for the bit locker key because the system was not turned off normally. While I was looking for the key in my other computer, the screen suddenly turned funny again (lots of red dots and stuff). Keyboard was unresponsive and soon after it went into the power on/off loop again..

Usually keyboards support at least 3 keys pressed at the same time...Is it normal for x1 carbon, or the problem is with my notebook?  Thanks!

Display issue in Lenovo X1 CarbonDisplay non touch. Native resolution 2560x1440 on ci7 8GB 256GB SSD.When I wake the laptop from sleep/power on/restart it keeps happening for around 5 -10 mins then screen goes to normal.Sometimes screen stays dark but when I move the screen to and fro at different angles at some point display starts working.Though on external display it works fine. Now I would like to ask if any one who has the Idea that? 1. Is it a BAD/loose connection between display cable & mother board or between cable and back side of LCD panel?2. Is it a bad cable itself?3. Is it an issue of faulty LCD panel? or 4. Hi, I have a Lenovo X1 Carbon running Windows 10. I would like to connect an external monitor and my only option seems to be using the HDMI port and using a HDMI to VGA cable. I plug this into a Philips 24" ext monitor and nothing I try can get me to
duplicate or extend my display. I just get a message on the ext monitor of "Check Cable Connection". New cable, and new laptop.
How can I even check, if the HDMI port is enabled or is there some other hidden switch / setting / feature I need to turn on first. I have tried the display settings and 'Detect' but nothing.
Any thoughts please.
Kind Regards,

Dear community nbsp I have this rather special issue that I would like to ask for your assistance with nbsp The case I have a Lenovo X Carbon nd generation A running Windows x One day the touchpad touchpad not Carbon responding 20A7 2nd X1 Lenovo stopped working but initially by making the cursor jump around the screen when I used the touchpad and later with no response Lenovo X1 Carbon 2nd 20A7 touchpad not responding at all Currently neither the touchpad or the trackpoint nbsp work and nbsp only when combining all of my effort and luck nbsp emphasis on the latter I can get a response For instance I recently had luck nbsp reinstalling the UltraNav driver nbsp which made the touchpad respond though rather nbsp patchy but only until nbsp I restarted the computer nbsp The background I bought the nbsp laptop while living the United States but have since moved to Denmark where I cannot use what remains of my warranty I tried calling the Lenovo callcenter and an employee suggested that I enabled the nbsp touchpad in the nbsp BIOS and reinstalled the driver but nbsp when that did not work he fell short on advice It seems that those guys are primarily there to help old people create a password and what not nbsp The twist I am aware that one excellent possible solution to my issue is that I can do a clean install of Windows on my device However I currently have a limited use version of some very expensive software installed and I need that in my daily work and cannot get a new version right away so doing that would set me back quite a lot nbsp I would really appreciate if somebody knows anything about what I could possible do in my situation I will try to respond as quickly as possible and am willing to engage in quite complex trouble shooting nbsp Faithfully CThyssen

Hello and welcome,
It seems that you're leaning toward a software rather than a hardware problem.  You might try booting a live Linux USB flash drive to verify that the hardware works.
It's typical for ThinkPads to have international warrantees.  Have you verified your specific coverage?   SUPPORT above, then International Services in the Warranty and Repair drop-down.
If your machine is eligible for local warranty service they will probably reinstall the OS as a diagnostic - and possible repair - effort.  If you can isolate to a hardware issue as suggested above you might avoid that step.

Hi guys,
troubles started only after the upgrade to Windows 10 and I frankly tried to ignore the 1-2 BSOD's per day as I'm working 10h+ and still with deadlines in tow.
Lately the BSOD's hit more often and from different reasons: Kernel Security Check Failure, IRQL not less or equal, Memory Management...
I already ran all kinds of hardware tests, everything seems to be fine.
Please note that the SysnativeFileCollection is a .rar inside a .zip as the file was too big.

Hello, Firstly, i am sorry but i don't speak english very well. Secondly, i just bought an external bluray reader which reads bluray thanks to the Cyberlink PowerDVD Application. Nevertheless, when i try to read a bluray, it doesn't work. So, i launched the Cyberlink bd advisor and it is written there is a problem with my laptop graphic card. The laptop is a thinkpad x carbon 4th gen and the graphic card is an intel hd graphic 520. So, i tried to reinstall the drivers after having retrieved them from the intel website. Nevertheless, i get an error message : "you should contact the computer constructor in order to update your drivers". Then, i went to the lonovo x carbon 4th gen driver's page in order to get the good drivers. However, it doesn't change something... So, i come here to ask you some help.

Not all X1 Carbons have WWAN; many were WWAN ready, with the antennas and SIM card slot fitted but no WWAN card. You need a machine with a WWAN card and a suitable SIM for WWAN to work.

Hey all.

I've been using a Macbook Pro 15" for years, with Win7 Ultimate installed. Naturally I have everything just so.. It died a few days ago. I figured it was the SSD, but it was the mainboard or something.

I now have a new Lenovo X1 Carbon, and the SSD from the MacBook Pro is in an ext. USB enclosure. How would the experts recommend that I image the old installation onto the new laptop?

I found this article (Restore Windows 7 to different computer ) but it requires the old computer to be working.

(Please keep in mind the X1 doesn't have an optical drive -- I will have to create a bootable USB key for this process.. Or perhaps it's possible to boot off of the external HD -- I'll check the BIOS)

Thanks in advance..

4.  Open the lid
5.  Screen stays black?

A:My Lenovo model no. is 1200-CTO

Hello and welcome,
Both The Google and Lenovo Support's search by MT-M feature think that is a ThinkPad Edge E525.  Does that seem reasonable?
Here's the support page:
You should be able to confirm the model - and perhaps the specs - by using the parts lookup page.  Enter your serial number there - BUT DON'T POST IT HERE IN THE FORUM.|Parts%20L...
BTW, the "CTO" part of the MT-M indicates it was a "configure to order" machine so some of the specs may vary within the "1200" model range.

Hi wicharit  ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Checking on ( noticed the photo seems not showing the JBL logo)
Better way ( view models tab ) getting a machine number to verify parts listed on that model (ex. 80RU00APUS )
Based on parts lookup page:  JBL speakers available , upper case JBL cover mark
Part number : 5SB0K85910 Speaker W 80RU R+L NJBL SPEAKERS INTERNAL
Part number : 5CB0L03571 UpperCaseW80RU BK BLNJBL W/KB USA COVERS
Pulled up a different page for a black and red topcover and it showed red JBL logo just above the keyboard (price a little different from the first)
It may be a top cover design that may show of a different part number but basically checking on the parts lookup page using the machine number is technically preferred for verification.
Hope this helps.

A:B590 - Memory for Lenovo Model 59410449

Hi AC2000 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Based on the product specification for this model , memory :
8GB max7 / PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3, non-parity, two 204-pin SO-DIMM sockets; * System automatically clocks down for processors with 1333MHz memory controller
This is the recommended Max memory supported for your model eventhou some processors can handle more (example : 15- 4310U handling 16 GB) since certain consideration are maintained by the systemboard and BIOS for full functionality and avoid non essential upgrades for users.
Your 6 GB ram probably have 2GB and 4 GB (PC3-12800 1600MHz DDR3) at the moment so you can simply match the a similar 4GB to max it to 8GB and be able to use dual channel synch for faster communication and transfer.
Hope this helped answer your query.

For the longest time I couldn't install Windows 10 on my Lenovo S30. The problem was that Windows 10 could not deal with the SCU hard drive port, apparently. Many forums will tell you to open your case and move your hard drive from the blue connector to the red connector. But now there are drivers that will fix the problem. I installed them on Win7 with no problem, and then the upgrade to Win10 proceeded flawlessly.

I am trying to deploy an image onto a newer model Lenovo M900 PC.  I use a bootable USB to get to diskpart then imagex to deploy the image.
The USB stick containing the .wim image file will not display in diskpart.  Its recognized during BIOS boot, however once within the windows command prompt section where you use the diskpart and imagex commands, it won't display or be recognized.
I have a feeling its something to do with this newer model Lenovo having only USB 3.0..  I had to enable USB Virtual KBC Support to get the USB keyboard working in BIOS initially as well, however still no USB memory sticks displaying

A:How to install SSD Disk on Lenovo B590 model 6274

hi nonesofar13,
Welcome to the Forums.
The B590 (6274) does support an SSD and you can opt to get a 2.5" or an mSATA form factor.

Since you already have a HDD, you can try to get an mSATA SSD and make it as your boot drive and just make the HDD a storage drive (i.e., For picture, movies, etc.).

Alternatively, you can just replace the HDD with a 2.5" SSD and optionally get an caddy or a SATA enclosure to convert the HDD as an external drive.

Battery Issue - Lenovo V570 (Laptop) - Battery Model L09S6Y02

First off I for the most part do not use the battery. It is normally detached from the laptop. I only attach it to periodically charge it and test prior existing charges' performance.

O.K. here is the problem. I attach battery attachment, computer does not make it to the window screen more often than not. When it does, it freezes at the please wait loading screen.

I rarely use the battery at all, but I want all my equipment up and functional. It's life should still be good for I periodically recharge it. I think since I've had the laptop I've only recharged it a total of 6 or 7 times and that's been a year or so.

I, for the moment at least have the battery working power adapter attached. What did I do? I uninstalled Avast (freeware version) ?

I learned from prior experience that running two of any system utility software can cause problems, but it normally restricts itself to what it is protecting. Then I remembered: "If you remove the possible whatever is left however in probable must be the truth."

Next phase of testing is test the battery on it's own.
