I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I continually get BSOD's while trying to play Infestation or Watch Netflix, run IE, Chrome, I've already run a Memtest86 with 0 errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:BSOD Watching Netflix, Playing Games, MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

Hello and welcome !
The majority of the dumps are showing signs of a driver misbehaving, mostly with association
to Steam, WarZ and AVG.
Please remove AVG and all of it's extensions mainly the toolbar (in each browser),
I suggest you use Microsoft Security Essentials instead.

For how many passes did you allow memtest to go through?
The following quote describes the best course of action right now, in great detail .

How? Say you have two RAM sticks and two DIMM slots. You obtained errors at the test with all RAM sticks installed. Now, remove all the sticks but one. Test it in all the available slots, one by one. Continue the same procedure for all the available sticks.
How to make the inference that is it a RAM issue or it is a motherboard issue? Suppose you have got the result like that:
testSlot1Slot2RAM1ErrorErrorRAM2GoodGood It is a RAM, a bad RAM.

But if you have got a result like that:
testSlot1Slot2RAM1ErrorGoodRAM2ErrorGood It is a motherboard issue. The particular slot is bad.

If memtest comes free from errors, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

 Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

 Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

 Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Keep us posted .

Hi, recently I have been suffering system instability issues but cannot for the life of me figure out which driver is causing the problem, or if it is indeed hardware related.
I have stresstested my CPU with Prime95, my GPU with various benchmarks and have run memtest successfully. This is why I am leaning more towards the driver issues.
My Dumps and specs should be included in the zip. Help would be much appreciated.

Hello, timpelplomp and welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, I don't expect this to be a quick fix, but we will start to work on it. These are your dumps. Notice different error codes and different causes. That is many times indicative of memory problems, and one of them even blamed corrupted memory.

Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Hi all,

I built my first computer about six months ago. After first completing it it never really crashed. Now, I get BSOD regularly when playing games (Civ 5, DOTA 2, Shogun 2) or when streaming netflix, just talking on skype. Here's just one of the error codes and dump files. This is a new BSOD code, the previous one was 3b or 3e. I can't quite be sure. But, I'll start recording it and post a record in these forums. Thanks for your support guys.

I'm not sure how to upload the dump file as it is in a .dmp format. Not sure if I can convert that to something.

Thanks for your time and help!

A:BSOD playing games/streaming netflix multiple error codes

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (Cx05) probably a driver.
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have Raid update its Driver.

Memtest.

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5-7 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Driver verifier

Quote:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Special Pool", "Force Pending I/O Requests" and "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen.
Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly.
The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.
If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Dumps are attached. the BSoD's normally occur while I'm playing certain games on steam, namely Flatout: Ultimate Carnage, Red Orchestra 2, Killing Floor
I have had the computer since Christmas and I had to reinstall windows twice because of Dell technical support being notorious for telling me to wipe my drive and reinstall windows and then they had a tech remote access my computer and download the necessary drivers.

A:BSoD while playing certain games on Steam

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

Quote:
A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress

Some generic advice.

If you are overclocking STOP. Return to the default settings at least for now.
If you are running a RAID update its driver.

Ive been experiencing a BSOD whenever I play PC games e.g. Rust, CSGO.

I have not been able to find a fix for this I have tried reinstalling drivers for everything and I have also run memtest which found no errors and that is all I could really think that the problem is. This issue mostly occurs after roughly 6-10 minutes of play time, otherwise the PC runs normally. Ive checked to make sure this isn't a cooling issue which it isn't. Ive uploaded a screen cap of speccy to better help with the specs.
also I think this is and unrelated issue but certain windows updates will not install i have attached a image of this too.

A:BSOD when playing MOST steam games

Your dumps are a mixture of mainly hardware fault 124 errors and a graphics driver error which could be a knock on from the 124.

0x124's are typically related to a hardware issue and can only be isolated by stress testing the major components.

If overclocking, reset all overclocks back to their default settings and then follow these:

RAM - run for a minimum of 8 consecutive passes

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

CPU - run the HIGH test

CPU - Stress Test Using IntelBurnTest

Video - run the FURMARK test for 20mins

Graphics Card Problems - Diagnose

Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Storage - run the SHORT test using the DOS version

A:BSOD while playing Steam games?

Welcome
The best place to start, would be to make sure it is not a driver that is to cause. Im leaning toward hardware, but the reports were not clear at best.

Driver Verifier
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Windows 7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"

The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Hi guys,

I've recently been getting random BSOD when playing games such as The Witcher 3 and Project Cars.

It doesn't seem to be a cpu temp or load issues as max temps are below 60 and load never really gets higher than 50%.

Even after observing the above I think I've traced it to be a CPU problem, but if someone were able to take a look at the attached dump file that would be great.

*edit* I have followed the rules and used the dm log collector now.

Thanks,
Dan

Microsoft Security Essentials is recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other internet security software. Malwarebytes is a great combo to MSE. They are free and lightweight.

Also uninstall your existing Antivirus software before you install MSE.

Good and Free system security combination.

Hi,

I've been having this problem for a while now but have pretty much just been ignoring it, but its got to the stage where I can't play games without it happening. I've tried googling the errors I get but am not sure if what is coming up is specific to my problem.

I'm running windows 7 x64, I have a GTX 660SC and an i5 3570k processor. I am not overclocked. I have attached the file generated with DM Log collector, if anyone could give me any help it would be much appreciated. I believe the latest blue screen is the most frequently occurring one, although there does seem to be a few that pop up.

A:BSOD When playing some games on Steam

You have a lot of errors with stop code 124. This stop code relates to hardware errors. Analyzing one of the dump file shows that there is problem with CPU cache:

My recommendations are:

- try to monitor processor temperature envinroment with one of the popular utility like HWMonitor;
- try to detect defective capacitors on motheboard
- try to verify work of power suply

Hello
Recently I have been receiving a periodic BSOD on my computer. During game play, the window will become clear and minimise. The game will not recover and the event log shows the following error : "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered." The computer continues to function until a game starts. For some games it BSODs on launch, others it happens once it loads a level. I have tried a clean install and driver updates. This does not happen every time, and in some games (such as CS:GO) disabling multi core rendering seems to avoid this issue. Hopefully someone can give me a hand with this.
Thanks in advance.

As you can see, it needs updating. I am going to give you some suggestions of how to get a clean install of the driver and not use a lot of the stuff they include with them which can conflict with other drivers.

I am going to give you some links that will help you get a good clean install and not have any drivers you don't need that will conflict with other drivers. Download a WHQL driver from Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7 . Once you have them downloaded, uninstall you current driver from control panel. next clean up any left over drivers from following this tutorial Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling and select only ATI Display Drivers. After you have done that and rebooted, install the new driver, only select custom install and install only what you have to. Very few people need most of what they include. You do not need the audio/HDMI drivers as you already have that in your Motherboard drivers. Unless there is some reason you need them, the only thing you really need is the Display Driver.

As far as the ZoneAlarm, if it were me I would uninstall it using these instructions Free Antivirus + Firewall Uninstall help. and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials (Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows)

Please do those things and see if they are of any help.

I would also monitor my CPU and GPU temps at all times, especially during gaming.

I also noticed an excessive number of Windows Errors with Bulls and Cows.exe. I would check and see if there are any solutions to it and maybe reinstall the program. Otherwise it really needs to go if it can't be fixed.

Hi People
I need a little help fixing my computer, recently i've been getting Blackscreens/BSODS when playing steam games except counter strike 1.6. for example : when i turned on cs go , after few minutes my computer monitor showed a black screen and a sound like it was a BSOD. it's getting really annoying now and i wanted to ask for a solution , because i haven't been able to found anything useful.

I've included the BSOD dump below.

The first blue screen i received today was while playing Borderlands The Pre-sequel, and gave me a Memory-Management error. The second blue screen was during a CounterStrike game and gave me the Critical Structure Corruption error. I recently built this PC and have done nothing that would put it in danger. I ran the windows memory diagnostic and during the test it gave me a hardware error. I have not run memtest yet, but will be doing it over the course of tonight. Just looking for some help from the forums. Thanks in advance for any help. VELOCITYY-Wed_08_05_2015__03205_16.zip

A:Two BSOD's today, both while playing games on steam.

Hi ScVelocityy,

Welcome to the 8forums.
I have looked a little bit at your dump files and I think the critical structure corruption error is related to your memory.

Download and run MemTest86+, How to test and diagnose your ram with MemTest86+ | Sevenforums.
Run MemTest86+ for at least 8 passes.
I recommend to read this thread for a possible prevention of BSOD's or system freezes related to Nvidia GPU.

Hello everybody I have built a custom computer couple months ago and began to notice blue screens off and on sometimes it would fix itself and I would not see one for days but now it has become a bit consistent when playing most D applications I performed my own tests to see if any hardware issues might exist I did a memtest with no problems in the memory swapped videos cards installed every single driver from sound card to video card solid state and beyond However I still get this problem I also went into my bios setting to ensure that nothing is overclocking my CPU I had both video cards NON SLI because it would always bsod in sli so I was titles Steam Playing games other BSOD and using one of the cards dedicated for gaming BSOD Playing Steam games and other titles for a little while The problem would only occur when I loaded into a game I would get a black screen and enough time to predict it was going to bsod the game would hang and allow me to alt tab to desktop seconds before everything froze completely BSOD Playing Steam games and other titles and crashed I decided to take one of the video cards out and see if it duplicated the symptom to my surprise I was able to run the game for a little while longer approx - minutes and then it would blue screen again I tried this with the single card three times and continued to have the same issue Otherwise the computer is stable on desktop with no problems so far I have become very frustrated with this build as there are so many hardware components involved and narrowing it down would be difficult without rmaing every single component individually My last resort is to seek help from a BSOD analyst expert to help dictate what the problem could be I would greatly appreciate any time you put in to helping me out in this situation Sincerely Static

Hello,

2 days ago, I had a couple BSOD errors which occurred when playing "Counter-Strike: GO". I figured that they were related to my graphics drivers, and since then have updated them. The BSOD stopped occuring after that.

Today however, a new BSOD error occured, talking about a potential bios issue, however there was no driver listed and no dump was collected after the issue. Because of this I decided to use verifier.exe to figure out which driver caused the issue.

I followed the steps outlined here and my system did indeed bsod upon startup, before even reaching the user screen.

This dump file should be the most recent one, and the one I am having trouble with. The required files are attached.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi There,

This last one you are concerned with is caused by Comodo,

You might want to uninstall it for the time being if you are troubleshooting another issue.

When you say a potential BIOS issue, what was it that pointed you to that?

I got this pc a few months ago. I have been able to play blizzard games (WoW and Diablo) fine but whenever I try to play a game I have downloaded from steam (total war shogun 2 and Borderlands 2) I get a BSOD code 101
I am not very pc savvy so if the explanation on how to fix this could be as detailed and easy to follow as possible that would be appreciated.

A:BSOD Playing games from steam, code 101

Ok, so this is very likely to be a hardware issue. I once had this problem my self, my fix was to clean out the dust. Even though there was none veiwable i took a vacuum and cleaned it. It worked. Now check for dust, dirt etcc. Next if you have overclocked STOP and revert. Follow the posted link above it has all of the needed information. And the most likely solution to your issue. If you are still having problems, i suggest lowering v-core. This do not touch for now though.

And i also suggest running these to help diagnose hardware for any issues.

Stresstests:
Ram : RAM - Test with Memtest86+
General hardware: Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95 ( (Three pre-set configurations are available: Small FFTs and In-place FFTs, and Blend. Small and In-place modes primarily test the FPU and the caches of the CPU, whereas the Blend mode tests everything, including the memory.)
Graphics: Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark (Do the above Graphics test only with the latest drivers, and then Run it until the temperatures stop increasing; should be less then 10 minutes. If you don't see any crazy glitches or distortion on the screen, The test most likely passed. Take note if the Temperature gets too high, or you see Visual artifact - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia to stop the test.)

My, that could be anything. do you know if Asus has any diagnostic software? like to test your ram and cpu and motherboard? go to Asus website and search your model or search for diagnostic programs/software from Asus to test your ram, motherboard, video card..

start with those.. blue screen of deaths are a thing of the past with me and i have not seen one since at-least 2 years ago..

Have been experiencing BSOD regularly and occasionally RSOD. It is happening at least once each time I play intensive steam games, most recently Project Cars.
I am not overclocking.
First i though it must be the temp of the CPU or GPU, but the CPU is sitting at 45 deg and GPU is maxing out at 62 deg as i have an aggressive fan mapping to ensure that it was keeping cool.
Have stressed tested memory with memtest86+, CPU with Prime 95 and GPU with FurMark
Windows is up to date.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi timo,

Welcome to the 8forums.

The level 0 cache of the CPU is causing the problems.
What tests from Prime95 have you performed?

Please make sure your drivers are updated.
Please uninstall ASUS software.
Please make sure your BIOS is set at default settings.

Hey,

since a few days I experience BSOD while playing/starting Steam games (noticed it the first while playing Payday 2, tried Space Engineers later and it happened there too).

This only happens while playing or starting Steam games, I played WoW for hours now without any problems but as soon as I try to play a Steam game I get a BSOD. Also my games now got black borders which I was able to fix for Payday but it's still strange that they appeared at the same time as the BSOD.

My Specs:

CPU: Intel i2500k

GPU: Asus HD Radeon 7950 (AMD Graphic card)

Mainboard: Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen 3

Power Supply: be quiet! Straight Power E9-CM 480W ATX 2.4

RAM: TeamGroup Elite Series DIMM Kit 8GB, DDR3-1333

Please let me know if I forgot any specific logs/specs or any other information you need to help me.

Steam non-stop frequent BSODs ever since updating to win As far as I can recall they seem to have been triggered by playing Steam games CounterStrike to be non-stop BSOD (likely triggered by playing Steam games?) precise From then on the BSODs will pop up even when I'm not in a game and without Steam running in the background The BSODs are sequentially DRIVER VERIFIED DETECTED VIOLATION IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL A completely blue screen with little white squares KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL frequent appearance DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL avgloga sys DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL dxgmms sys NTSC FILE SYSTEM Ntfs sys SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED dxgkrnl sys I've removed AVG antivirus after BSOD but they still keep coming So I did a clean install of installed all the latest drivers from the ASRock and AMD website and hoped for the best It ran smoothly for a day or two and that was when I thought I'd fire up Steam and give it a try Barely secs into a game and the BSOD appeared 'irql not less or equal' I rebooted it and an hour later this guy came up 'attempted execute of no execute memory' Then the system ran with no hiccups for the rest of the night This morning I got a bit cold turkey so I went into Steam again for about mins No BSOD I'm wondering does any of you guys here know what is going on By the way Here's the link to the minidump http rapidshare com share CA E AE A A E I'm pretty sure I'd run into another BSOD again so I really hope I can get this fixed once and for all Any input is appreciated Thanks

I'm getting blue screens when playing games on steam. The games I've noticed it on are:
Skyrim
Loadout
Sleeping Dogs
DmC Devil May Cry
Shadow Warrior

According to BlueScreenView the cause for the last few crashes is dxgkrnl.sys, and has previously been atikmpag.sys. As far as I know the drivers for my graphics card and motherboard are up to date, and I'm excluding my Steam folder from F-Secure's real-time scanner.

Thanks for any help!

Problem is persisting after reinstalling Windows, can't really pinpoint it to any certain program, since the problem seemed to start right after installing ''the essential'' drivers and stuff from MSI disket that came with the motherboard. I hope the files attached help, I'm sorry for not being tech savvy at all I'm happy to provide additional information if needed, provided that it is not beyond my techincal skills.

Thank you for taking your time to help,

-Jake

Edit: I mean, thank you for spending your time to help me... Well I hope I at least make myself somewhat understood -__-

Blue screen came again, but this time I thought the error message was different! I couldn't see it properly as it flashed on the screen for maybe 2 seconds, but I think it said something along the lines of; IRQ_LESS_THAN something something...

New log files attached, thank you for your patience.

Please Run Memtest86+

 Information

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask

Hello!
Since last weeks I've had multiple BSOD's and it seems to happen mostly while I play games through steam. Games like GTA4, The witcher 2 and Sleeping dogs cause the crashes while I for some reason can play Shogun Total war 2 for hours without problems. Games that are not connected to steam, like Battlefield 3, seems to work good as well. I don't have any cd/dvd tools like Daemon tools installed. I would be very grateful if someone could help me with this problem.

A:BSOD playing games with Steam. Multiple error messages.

Hello Kwandao and welcome to Sevenforums.

Have you tried to disable the Steam Overlay? To do this-* Launch Steam and click on the "Settings" button. Click on the "In-Game Settings" tab.
* Uncheck the box next to "Enable Steam Community In-Game" and click OK.
* Disable the Steam Overlay on specific games only by right-clicking on the game title, click on "Properties" and uncheck "Enable Steam Community In-Game" in the "General" tab.

Troubleshooting

Different culprits pointed towards your ATI Graphics Driver. Driver Sweeper will ensure that you'd have a clean install at the end of the procedure, and by that no leftover files that'd bork the system.

* Make your way to ATI Drivers - Downloads and download the latest driver for your card, save it to your desktop for instance
* Uninstall the Graphic driver you currently have and all its extensions (do not reboot yet)
* Download Driver Sweeper
* Get to safe mode (without network) and search for Driver Sweeper in your START
* Select all the ATI components and analyse them
* Clean them, head into Windows without internet and install the driver you've downloaded previously

DirectX

* Have you updated your directX recently?
* What's your temperatures just before a crash?
* Does the crashes only happen on demanding games?
* Have you checked threads on Steams Forums?

The title is pretty self-explanatory; I keep getting BSOD on steam games, particularly DotA and Civ V. I've been supremely bored without my vidjya, so any help would be much appreciated! I've attached the requisite BSOD paperwork, and am pasting some more stuff, and my system specs should be in my profile.

Hello, and welcome to SevenForums!

First of all, have you overclocked your graphics card at all?

The 0x00000124 error code appears during a hardware complaint, such as overheating. If you have overclocked your GPU, RESET IT IMMEDIATELY. This could be causing numerous critical errors in your GPU, causing the whole system to crash. Also, overclocking can severely damage your GPU. I would only recommend it if you know what you are doing and are not just following a tutorial.

But, this could be other things too. I see that your GPU driver is WAY out-of-date. Download the latest drivers via the AMD website.

Best of luck,

PeregrineX

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Hey,
Recently my laptops been getting a BSoD when i try and do simple things, such as when i start Steam it will BSoD or even just watching Netflix. The error message i receive changes and is either that it stopped to prevent loss of Data or is 'KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR'.
I've already tried a few things ie chkdsk , however i dont know how to check my dump file to figure out the exact root of my problem. When i try and attach my .dmp and XML documents about the crash it says i dont have administrative permissions to open the file...even though im on an admin account
Thanks in advance

I was given the notification in the store yesterday that my Netflix app needed an update...since then, I can't use it. It keeps giving me an error message that there is something wrong with my network connection, and that it may just be temporary & to try again later..but no matter how or when I try, I keep getting the same message. I've tried uninstalling & re-installing the app, nothing. Not a HUGE deal since it works in my browser, but I was enjoying the app & wondered if this is an issue on the Netflix end or what? I knwo it can't be my PC as I just got it a couple of weeks ago..so it's brand new. And my internet connection is fine. I also get an error message when trying to use the Hulu Plus app as well.

Anyone out there experiencing this or have any solutions?

Thank you!

Sup guys.

Was just wondering what you guys use to stream movies and shows?

I have netflix, was wondering if getting Hulu too is worth it, or just the same lineup and availability of shows?

Would be interested to hear from anyone who has both.

I appreciate your input.

Hulu Plus is based more for TV Shows where as Netflix is basically a subscription to movies. If you are a TV person, go with Hulu. (as I am, although I pay for both.)
Netflix on average has a worse quality for me but let it be your choice.

Hey guys at Windows 7 Help Forums,
For the past several months I have been having huge issues while playing games.
The issues seem to differ from game to game, however Dark souls 2 and occasionally Dota 2 will sometimes cause a BSOD. Sometimes instead of BSOD games will simply crash to desktop without warning or error messages. This happens anytime I want to play GTA 4, Dota 2 any bioshock titles and many other games. a large majority of my video games have become simply unplayable. From what I can tell all my drivers are up to date and my computer is free from malware.
My specs are pretty good and nothing appears to be overheating.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

CPU - intel i5 quad core
Ram - 8gb
GPU - Geforce GTX 670
Motherboard - ASUS P8Z77-V LK

Kindest regards,
Blaise Parnell

A:BSOD and crashes to desktop playing certain games

Hi Blaise Parnell.

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

My specs : (Everything is new and hardly a month old)
AMD FX 6300 cpu six cores

8 gb RAM
Nvidia GTX 750 ti 2 GB OC edition
Cooler master CM force 500 cabinet
PSU : Cooler Master 350w.
I am getting constant BSODs (some times random crashes with a program stopped working message) while playing NFS Rivals, Batman Arkham Origins, FIFA 14.. The games work fine on my other PC (core i5) so it is not the issue with games installed.
I had windows 7 ultimate edition first. When I started getting BSODs I changed the OS to windows 8.0 pro edition.
I tried changing RAM, diagonised HDD without any issues, reinstalled windows 8.0 pro (had windows 7 earlier which showed samw errors), uninstalled antivirus (BSOD appear with and without AV). Updating Nvidia drivers did not help either.

I even tried playing games on a clean windows install before installing any other applications.
I am considering swapping my Nvidia card with ATI Raedon, not sure it will work.

That 350 watt power supply may be too weak for your installed hardware, especially the video card...

Meanwhile, i figured that my issues may or may not have something to do with games running off Steam. As i just played Planetside 2 and hearthstone for quite a while, and no crashes happened. However as soon as i tried to run Rocket League nor The crew, it crashed.. may try with Gta V but i don't really want it to crash again.. So any tips yet?

A:Random BSOD and other crashes while playing games

I am afraid the mpost recent crash uploaded was from December 2011 and related to your Rt86win7.sys. I have no idea what is causing them now without the most current DMP files.

A:BSOD... Frequent crashes when playing games...

Well to start all of the dumps point to this
1. MijXfilt.sys - MotioninJoy simulate Xbox 360 controller (virtual Xinput device) = i suggest uninstalling motionjoy, and restarting to see if issues further continue.
If issues no longer occur, then i suggest using a new software to run your xbox controller with.
If they do occur, make sure motionjoy is uninstalled and report back with new dumps.

Is there a reason why you haven't installed Win8.1 yet? I ask to see if there were problems with it.

Only 119 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Please uninstall Razer GameBooster as it has been known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

Out of 6 memory dumps there were 5 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers) - such as Daemon Tools or Game Booster
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

You can get a head start on the hardware diagnostics if you'd like - they are located here: Hardware Diagnostics

Post back if this doesn't stop the BSOD's and we'll suggest some other tests.
Good luck!

A:BSOD while playing games like WOW and LoL now just random crashes

If it was shipped to you, first thing I would do is open it up and make sure all the parts are properly seated. All kinds of things could have come loose during shipment. Video card could be sideways in it's slot. Ram chips partially unseated. The heatsink may have even poped off partially and your CPU could be overheating and locking up.

It happens quite often on computers that get shipped around...

My laptop is about 2 months old now and when ever I play games I usually get a BSOD crash within half to an hour every time. I personally have no clue how to fix these problems or read a dumb file correctly.

I have added an attachment with my latest crash logs any help would be much appreciated.

I used option 2 tool as well for bsod

A:BSOD Steam Games & Freeze (always) on Steam error 0x124

Stop 0x124 is usually a hardware related issue, but actually it may be caused by anything and everything in the computers environment. Unfortunately the crash dumps are not very effective for the 0x124 BSODs.

Please read this: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Read the article carefully. Proceed with the remaining tests. Let us know if any assistance or clarification is needed.

This is happening with many games. I recently got a new graphics card and I am worried that it is broken some how. Because I will be gaming and then my monitor will go to no signal, like the DVI has been removed. But it also seems the whole system crashes because I lose sound and my VoIP server. Pulling the DVI in and out does nothing and I have to force shutdown.

Here are my specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz | GPU: Radeon HD 7970 Vortex 2| Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V LX | RAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz

I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.

I used the SF Diagnostic tool. The first 3 minidumps are from older BSOD's though. And I think the forth is too, possibly.

Hello,

I hope someone here is able to help. Basically I bought this computer in about January and for the first 3 months it was amazing (iBuypower from tigerdirect). After that it just started randomly crashing during World of Warcraft and then it started crashing more frequently with every game. The first time it crashed, I thought it was my new keyboard (Razer Lycosa) but then I re-installed Windows 7 two more times and it still crashed even with a different keyboard. I'm extremely frustrated and I've tried just about everything to my knowledge so I would appreciate it greatly if someone knew what the problem was and could help me out.

Here is my computer information:

OS - Windows 7 Home Premium
64-Bit
Windows 7 Home Premium
OEM Version
8 Months
2 Days, Reinstalled 2 Times
Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
XFX Radeon 5570 1GB
?

Thanks a lot. If there is any more information required please let me know.

A:BSOD - Windows Crashes from Playing Video Games

There are no memory dump files in the uploaded reports. Please do the following:

Quote:

Please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service . I recommend Windows Live SkyDrive - http://skydrive.live.com or another free, file-hosting service. Then post the link to it in your topic so that we can download it.

Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file): http://www.carrona.org/setmini.html

There is one STOP 0xA error listed in the MSINFO32 report. While waiting for further BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these directions:

- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
NOTE: You can use Low Resource Simulation if you'd like. From my limited experimentation it makes the BSOD's come faster.

If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line:

Code:
Delete these registry keys (works in XP, Vista, Win7):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDrivers
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDriverLevel

Hi this problem has nearly ruined me and cost a fortune so far first I'll explain the problem about months ago I had a PSU blow out on me so I replaced it and all was well for a time when the PC would shut down and then restart without even showing a BSOD at first it was System when and restarts no bsod displayed playing crashes games now and then but gradually got worse At first I thought it might of been the CPU overheating I also thought that when the PSU blew it caused damage to the MB So over a period of time I have ended up replacing all the hardware For a time it seemed okay but the problem soon returned just to note it only shuts down when playing or starting System crashes and restarts when playing games no bsod displayed games I can surf the System crashes and restarts when playing games no bsod displayed net or play videos etc without a problem My next thought was that it was a software conflict so I have ended up rebuilding a second PC with a new HDD just incase it was a virus etc I've loaded Windows home bit installed the graphics card GeForce Ti with latest Nvidia drivers and a Asus sound card I then installed Minecraft just as a test game and sure enough it crashes So I have eliminated the possibility of it being a hardware problem or a software conflict I then thought it may of been the graphic card drivers so I uninstalled the latest driver and installed a older driver but the problem remaines Whilst trying to check detals of my system I noticed that the quot Windows Experiance Index quot score was only whereas in the past it's always around something it shows gaming as and Gaming Graphics as so being a new install I cliked on the quot Refresh Now quot button the test starts but when it gets to quot Direct D Texture Load Assessment quot the system crashes as if I was playing a game I then realise that I can not use the Windows Aero desktop as the experiance score is so low needs to be or higher When I have looked at the Events Log I notice when the system crashes it reports quot Kernal power quot etc I've looked at the Microsoft website but dissmissed their explanations as the powersupply I have is new and powerfull enough I have searched the internet for days now without getting any answers I have tried upping the power for the CPU and ram but made no difference So Windows forums is my last chance to get this sorted I have come to the thought that theres something within Windows that detects when huge amounts of graphics are being shifted and cant cope so it shuts down As I stated this is on two different Asus MB's and Intel i 's It has me stumped please help before I smash the lot up

I see you have Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB but you have Windows 7 32 bit installed. With windows 32 bit you will be limited to use only 3.25 GB out of 8.00 GB. Any particular reasons for not using the 64 bit of windows?

From the one dump in your zip files shows you are getting
STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD Index
Their usual causes for this bug check are: Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows, Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility

From the installed programs in your msinfo32 I see no antivirus installed. Please let us know what antivirus are you using?

Answer the questions above and then we'll see the further troubleshooting that can be done with your computer.

Hi,

Of the attached DMP files, we are seeing:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)

Quote:

This indicates that invalid system memory has been referenced.

Usual causes are a bug in a device driver, hardware related memory issues, corrupt NTFS volume, anti-virus software.

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3b)

Quote:

An exception happened while executing a routine that transitions from non-privileged code to privileged code.

This bugcheck is generally related to a video driver issue.

Interestingly enough, we have an ATI/AMD based bugcheck in these DMP files: A0000001

If we take a look at the stack:

Code:
STACK_TEXT:
fffff880`03d63768 fffff880`048a211c : 00000000`a0000001 00000000`00000005 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 : nt!KeBugCheckEx
fffff880`03d63770 00000000`a0000001 : 00000000`00000005 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 : atikmdag+0x2311c
fffff880`03d63778 00000000`00000005 : 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 fffffa80`05764078 : 0xa0000001
fffff880`03d63780 00000000`00000000 : 00000000`00000000 00000000`00000000 fffffa80`05764078 fffff880`03d637d0 : 0x5
As you can see from the stack, atikmdag (ATI/AMD video driver) is what triggered the BSOD.

Ensure you have the latest video card drivers. If you are already on the latest video card drivers, uninstall and install a version or a few versions behind the latest to ensure it's not a latest driver only issue. You can use beta drivers if newest version / previous versions do not help.

If drivers are not the issue, run a Memtest for NO less than ~8 passes:

Memtest86+:

Quote:

Download Memtest86+ here:

Quote:

http://www.memtest.org/

Which should I download?

You can either download the pre-compiled ISO that you would burn to a CD and then boot from the CD, or you can download the auto-installer for the USB key. What this will do is format your USB drive, make it a bootable device, and then install the necessary files. Both do the same job, it's just up to you which you choose, or which you have available (whether it's CD or USB).

How Memtest works:

Memtest86 writes a series of test patterns to most memory addresses, reads back the data written, and compares it for errors.

The default pass does 9 different tests, varying in access patterns and test data. A tenth test, bit fade, is selectable from the menu. It writes all memory with zeroes, then sleeps for 90 minutes before checking to see if bits have changed (perhaps because of refresh problems). This is repeated with all ones for a total time of 3 hours per pass.

Many chipsets can report RAM speeds and timings via SPD (Serial Presence Detect) or EPP (Enhanced Performance Profiles), and some even support changing the expected memory speed. If the expected memory speed is overclocked, Memtest86 can test that memory performance is error-free with these faster settings.

Some hardware is able to report the "PAT status" (PAT: enabled or PAT: disabled). This is a reference to Intel Performance acceleration technology; there may be BIOS settings which affect this aspect of memory timing.

This information, if available to the program, can be displayed via a menu option.

Any other questions, they can most likely be answered by reading this great guide here:

...but not when watching blurays and files from HDD.

AMD A6-5400K, Rosewill FBM-01 - Staci Build - jonathantrillo's Saved Part List - PCPartPicker

Getting to the end of my tether with this problem.

As title says, I've tried reformatting, I've tried adding a graphics card! None of this makes no difference. It really only seems to be when streaming HD, it's not too bad on youtube, but noticeable. Very bad on hulu.

Internet speed is 30mb/sec so no problems there. All the drivers are up to date.

It's been around 4-5 months now and I've barely been able to use this HTPC.

This is a custom PC so maybe something is wrong with settings regarding parts working together?

Win 7 Home premium.

A:Stuttering problem Netflix / Hulu / Youtube etc

its could be something simple!
have you tried changing your ethernet cable?

or if your using wireless it could be your router. I had a cheap crappy on from my isp which was not capable of streaming media properly, I swapped it out for a 5ghz netgear one and had no issues since.

do you have an aftermarket firewall? or a stupidly over protective virus scanner? if so disable these and give it a try.

do you get reliable download speeds? I know you say you get 30mb/s but do you get like decent speeds on large files? id expect at least 10mbps,if your getting kbps then you have an issue!!

Hi,

Just got a new laptop, a Dell Latitude D830
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz
Installed RAM: 3.00 GB
64 Operating System
Windows 7 Pro
Service Pack 1
NVIDIA Quadro NVS 135M

Intel Cor 2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz 1994 Mhz

Problem is, video play on Netflix and Hulu is choppy and buffering.
YouTube videos are just fine. So are videos on Facebook. Is this
a frame rate problem? Do I have enough RAM? Enough power?

I've updated all drivers and codecs and the browsers, both Chrome
and Firefox are sluggish to say the least. Often not responding.

Did malware and virus sweeps. Nothing to be found.

Help!

Thanks!

A:Problem streaming Netflix and Hulu...Browsers not responding

Could be RAM. Minimum required to run Win7 64 is 2GB, and that is the bare minimum. 4GB is recommended, more depending on how the computer is used. With small amounts of RAM, data is cached on the HDD. So if you are trying to do something and it's sluggish, a good indicator of RAM would be the HDD LED is lit constantly.

Also, those are base specs for HD support.

I have the released version of Windows 7 I received for attending a Windows 7 developer conference this week. I installed it on my laptop and like what I see so far. The one exception is that the Netflix plugin does not show up in media center as it does with Vista. I have read all the posts in this forum having to do with Netflix and what I gather is that it is coming soon. Any idea of when it will be available? Also, like others, I would love to see a Hulu plugin integrated into Windows 7 media center. Thanks, bweiler

A:Windows 7 Media Center Netflix and Hulu plugins

I don't think the Netflix plugging is going to be available till around the offical release date for Win7 which is October 22nd. As for Hulu you might want to try Hulu desktop and using Media Center Studio http://www.adventmediacenter.com/ to intergrate it into you MC's start page. It's not a perfect solution as it minimize's MC and puts Hulu desktop to full screen, but its better then nothing.Von Roch

A:Netflix, Hulu, Next Issue and Windows Media Center fail

I've done a SFC /scannow and DISM check, scan, and restore health and it made some repairs and I restarted my PC. It did not solve my problems. I also ran the Microsoft app checker and it said that my Windows Store is corrupted and my graphics driver needs to be updated, but I need more technical support in order to figure out how to fix these issues.

I'm at a loss right now in terms of available options. Please help if you can. I don't want to have to perform a full system recovery back to the factory default configuration if it can be avoided. However, I will consider doing so as a last ditch option.

I'm running windows 7 on a Dell N5010 laptop
It works fine while just browsing with chrome or using skype, but as soon as I try to watch a video on youtube it won't play smoothly unless I have it on a stupid-low quality (with nexflix too)
same with my games on steam (I only have two downloaded right now- TF2 and Skyrim) and both of them are super laggy, even with the graphics, ect all set to low.. Minecraft does the same thing.
It gets pretty annoying as you can imagine.

I've tried closing all my background programs while playing and deleting a bunch of stuff to give more space on my RAM but nothing really seems to make any difference.

Any advice..??

A:Bad lag while playing steam games and watching videos

You're running Intel HD graphics that's built in to your laptop. wont do ya much good if you want to play games or watch movies. bare minimum internet browsing. If you want to play video games on a laptop, i recommend getting a new laptop that has dual video cards. one for highperformance (videogames/movies), one for power saving. Also, your i3 processor isnt helping much either.

Generally, laptops are meant to be upgraded every 3 years. I'd also recommend a desktop if you want to play video games. cheaper, more powerful

This is what everything was like before this happened..

C drive on SATA0
Steam drive on SATA1

Now, I got a new hard drive, so

C is on SATA0
New drive is on SATA1
Steam drive is on SATA2

Now, it seems that whenever I close a steam game, explorer.exe will crash. this is EVERY time. I can do it on demand, start a game, close the game.

I really have no idea what to do. I've tried uninstalling both drives and rebooting, letting Windows redetect them to no avail.

Keep less stuff at the start-up. Only anti-virus, this helps avoid driver conflicts and improves time to log in to windows.
Startup Programs - Change

Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean StartupUse the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 . Use a laptop cooling pad if possible

Blow out all vents with canned air (DO NOT use a vacuum cleaner or an air compressor, they can damage the components).

Ensure that the fan comes on and is blowing air out of the vent (may not happen at startup, but should happen after using it for a while).

I only get BSODs now while playing runescape, the most common one I've found would be when I'm playing it with Netflix. I can play AC4, Skyrim, any game that I've tried now without issues except Runescape. Thanks in advance guys

I have no idea what it is nor do I know what to do. Help? (THIS CRASH ONLY HAPPENS WHEN GAMING)

A:BSOD/Hard hangs when playing video games Kernel Mode Trap

I'd also like to add the crashes are accompanied by repeating audio of what was happening in game a well as a frozen monitor (Doesn't go black, just hangs and I can see the last frame in game before I crash)

Hey Guys,

I have been dealing with random bluescreens and system freezes for over a year now and it is getting really frustrating. I have troubleshooted so many ways including memtest and driver updates.

This is a custom built pc, built by myself.

AMD FX Series 8 Core 4ghz
16GB RAM (2x8gb)
AMD R7 200 series video card (2gb)
I can go a few days without a crash if I uninstall and reinstall video drivers, but it doesnt fix the problem.

Attached is my last dmp file and I really hope someone can read it better than I can, because I am clueless at the moment.
Thanks guys!

Hey folks,

I've received a few BSOD's in the past couple days while doing what's in my title. These are the 3 messages I've received:

POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
ATTEMPTED_WRITE_TO_READONLY_MEMORY

I'm fairly confident that chrome or wow are culprits, but not entirely sure. I've collected 4 mini dumps, which I hope will help (attached).

I've ran a Windows memory diagnostic which came back clean. I'm using an 840 Evo SSD which I've confirmed has the latest firmware.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: had to update my attachment, but computer crashed haha, it's up and good to go now!

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

A:BSOD when playing video(youtube or netflix) new motherboard

It would appear that the motherboard or CPU is still hosed. The dump indicates a hardware failure caused by a third party devise on the CPU bus. In this case, the event log supports this and points to the Northbridge bus. This may be caused by the CPU not being properly seated or damaged/dirty contacts. (Perhaps thermal paste on the contacts.) If you are not familiar with removing, cleaning contacts and reinstalling a CPU, you should get help from a competent PC specialist to examine the CPU and socket contacts.
