I have a T410 here that has no product number, only a spare number and the serial number. I cannot even check warranty on this thing without the product number, and trying the normal t410 product number does not work. Does this thing even have a warranty?
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Hello, You may check the warranty of a unit with just the serial number here - http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/wc/public/home

Is there a way to revert a currently loaded SCCM thin client back to a HPDM-managed thin client? The quickest way I'm thinking of is to just thumbdrive reimage the device. I am trying to create a remote connection to my server at work (os ms windows 2003) - I currently have the vpn in place but the software I need to access requires a thin client. Do I need any additional hardware ? or can I run the software directly on the server to accomplish the same thing. also is there a certain type of thin client software that i should use? The software company said they have used "graph on" thin client before? I think that this company may be oob - because I can't find them. Any help would be appreciated!!! thank you
software usage has nothing to do with running a thin client.
the software needs to be installed/running from the server.
You ran the rras wizard and setup the vpn.
Now you need to logon remotely from any pc using remote desktop.
Test local RDP access before moving on to access from home.

Hi there.. I have Epson LQ-310 hooked on Hp Thin Client T5740 (WES 2009) When I turn on the printer the WES 2009 try to install the printer driver but in the end I got error install the printer driver. ..please help Thanks
Did you disable the Write Filter that the change gets applied? Also the driver might need more space on the ramdrive. You could enhance the ramdrive for that. Also you could change the Temp Folder via Control Panel - System - Advanced - Environment Variables and changes the Variables TEMP and TMP in "User variables" and "System variables" to a different drive / network drive.and after a successful installation undo those changes.

Could the Thin Client be trying to do a network boot and not being able to complete it hangs at the intel boot agent?
I'd look at the boot priority order.
We have been trying to get RemoteFX up and running on our HP thin clients mainly for the USB redirection feature. I have been all over the internet looking for ways to accomplish this. I have seen in several places where I need to go in to the
local group policy editor, but this is not available on the thin client. So basically my question is how do I enable/configure remotefx on a thin client? I believe it is set up on the server side.

I'm doing some work on a Windows XPe - HP thin clent machine, i have an issue where the anti virus service needs to be stopped and restarted on login...nice and simple, i've created a batch net start, net stop command and chucked it in the all users startup folder and given full control over it to the normal user.....HOWEVER the first one i created i had typed the name of the service incorrectly so i edited it and it worked fine, however when i then rebooted the machine the old batch file came back.....tried deleting the batch file and rebooting but the batch file still came back :|
Anyone got any wisdom as to why? I.E. is it cashing the info or something? and how do i permentanly delete and recreate?

We currently are using around 50 HP t520 thin clients in our VMware View environment. We have found the thin clients to BSOD(Frowny Face) right out of the box, and even after imaging it with the latest HP supplied image. Curious if others have run into the similar issues with this model. HP tech support has been less than helpful and unable to resolve the issue. We can reporduce it on our end generally by launcing the VMware View client.
MCoopes. We recently received a batch of T520 thin clients (Windows 8) that are continuously crashing, even after reflashing the HP image. We even sent some units back to HP and they still crash. What we think it is over here is something in the t520 not playing nice with Windows 8. Up until this windows 8 batch, we had been using the t520 with windows 7, this was not an issue until 8. -Nickhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Boot-and-Lockup/Thin-Client-t520-Crashing/td-p/5342091

I have an issue since upgrading office on my thin client server, i've gone from 2003 to 2007.
whats happening is, we use 'Track Changes' function alot as there are multiple users editing single files. some of the users use thin client access to the files through the thin client server, and now when we attempt to track a change made by a user under their thin client logon, it just states the update as being made by 'Administrator'
if however we open and edit the file on a normal workstation using a network domain logon, it all works fine
its purely a thin client problem and purely since the upgrade, it worked perfectly on office 2003
any input much appreciated
Regrettably I do not personally have knowledge of 'Thin Client'. However, Here are the results from a Microsoft Technet Search:

Perhaps there is something there which might help.
I planning to add HP thin client t5720 in my home network. The primary purpose I have in mind is to use it as a NAS with attached USB harddisks .
I have some queries in mind since the thin client computing is new for me :
1. Does HP thin client t5720 has USB 1.1 ports or USB 2.0 port (not very clearly mentioned in its specs)
2. Does it support the installation of regular Windows XP Professional (by installing a 2.5 inch harddisk inside as guided on various websites).
3. Does it support USB boot to install any linux (Ubuntu) installation or a NAS OS like FreeNAS.
Would appreciate if someone using it in a similar environment setup can guide about the queries.

downgrade client agent Hello, We use HP Device manager 4.4.3.All our thin clients are of the same agent, except one with the 4.5 agent so i can't deploy an image.Using update agent task also fails. How do i downgrade the agent on the client as it doesn't communicate with the device manager. Is there maybe an 4.4 agent to download and install manually on the client with a usb drive? Thanks in advance
There is no possibility to downgrade the HPDM Agent. Can you open a case with HP Support on this via www.hp.com/Support

I work in a small office with five computers connected to a Windows 2000 server to which all files are saved. One of the computers just died. The user only accesses the internet, email and a phone slip program which has phone messages. He also opens word documents from his email. I'm the closest thing to a computer tech here but I have had nothing to do with thin clients before. Instead of buying a new computer, would this be a good application for a thin client? If so, how do I set one up. Remember, I have no experience with thin clients so the more detail the better. Thanks.
Hello, I have a HP t5540 thin client updated to the latest available firmware . I configured ICA client enabling PNAgent , it works until the next reboot . In fact on reboot I get a warning window : " Unable to connect to the remote server. The remote server URLs may not be Entered correctly or the remote server may be down . Would you like to re-enter the URL server? " Even if I enter the correct URL is not working . But if , subsequently, in the ICA settings and I enable NAP agent with the same URL , it works . But at every reboot I get that warning message . And again , I have to go into settings and re-enable ICA PNAgent ( without changing the url that I had previously entered ) . Also enabling " Force PNAgent at the reboot" does not change anything . My infrastructure is based on citrix 7.6 .Other thin client work properly . Is this the correct forum to ask a question about XPe on an HP Thin Client PC?
This is the XP forum, so yes, this is the place
We recently purchased some t520 thin clients and already there's problems with the disk space. I removed a few programs and added a couple, but I've done nothing unusual to increase disk usage. The usual ways don't help, Disk Cleanup gives me just a couple MBs to free up. We have an application that requires .Net 4.6 but now I can't install it because of low disk space. The disk has a capacity of 16 GB but Windows itself is taking up almost all of that, and most of it seems to be located in the WinSxs folder. HP shouldn't sell these with 16 GB disks if its barely enough for the Windows installation. Please advise how to free up space on the disk.
I got some help elsewhere and was told to delete everything in the Windows/SoftwareDistribution/download folder, which freed up a few gigabytes, so I'm good for now. But still, these should come with at least 32 GB storage.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Low-disk-space-on-thin-client/td-p/5571234

Apply Then start the client WPS Client PIN number on client utility interface: where is this? process soon after You can find the client s PIN number on the client s utility interface Both of these options require me accessing the client utility interface - but I don t actually know where this is Thanks so much Adele Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version OS Version Microsoft Windows Home Premium bit Processor AMD Athlon tm II X Processor AMD Family Model Stepping Processor Count RAM Mb Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD Mb Hard Drives C Total - MB Free - MB D Total - MB Free - MB F Total - MB Free - MB Motherboard PEGATRON CORPORATION A X Antivirus AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition Updated and Enabled nbsp
If your wireless adapter does not support those you will not find anything about them on the wireless utility. I disable that new fangled stuff on the router and just use WPA(2) passphrases.
If your adapter does support WPS or Pin, are you using a special wireless utility ('client utility interface') or just the Windows 7 one? Either way, when you try to connect to your network you will probably see those options.
Can anyone suggest an antivirus solution for thin client computing? Basically I have a Windows Server 2003 server that pushes out an image to 20 - 25 thin client computers. I need real-time protection on the server and clients, but not necessarily a antivirus suite that monitors each thin client, Did I explain that correctly???
Any help is much appreciated!

OS: HP ThinPro 6-64BIOS: L41 v01.02 I'm looking for a bit of guidance on flashing the BIOS on this TC. Instructions for the softpaq say to run hptc-bios-flash but this will only work with the tool-less option set in the BIOS. As this is a very early BIOS version, that option does not exist in the BIOS config. After a reboot the update is not applied. Ideally what I would like to do is to create a bootable USB to flash the BIOS from, but the part I'm struggling to find is the correct BIOS flashing utility. The ami-flash reports a corrupt BIOS file, although I know it is fine as I've used the same file on other systems. I was wondering is i can upgrade the 5740 HP thin client with windows xp embedded to windows 7 embedded. And if i'am still complaint with the licenses for the thin clients
JVDDistribution Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! You'll be facing two problems if you attempt that:1) drivers2) license In terms of the first, HP supplies no Win7 drivers for that PC, so after the Win7 install, you'll be stuck using generic drivers that are supplied by MS, and those only support the most basic functions. While you can install some older drivers in newer OSs using Compatibility Mode, MS changed the drivers models a LOT for Win7, so the XP drivers are most likely, not going to work. In terms of the second, your PC has an HP OEM license for XP and that does not carry over to Win7. You would have to purchase Win7 license to use it on this PC. Good LuckI am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.========================================================================If you feel my suggestions helped you, please click the Thumbs-Up symbol to say thanks! If they helped resolve your issue, please click "Accept As Solution" to help others find similar information.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Can-you-upgrade-the-HP-Thin-client-5740-from-XP-to-Windows-7/td-p/5571284
Hello, I am trying to re-image our Dell Thin Clients but the problem I am having is that I cannot get the Reflash Utility to do a factory reset.
I downloaded the file from DevonIT but it may be missing some files. I created a bootable USB with the program Rufus but for some reason its not factory reseting the Thin Client.

Hi All, Hoping Iv'e put this in the right place and someone can help out or point me in the right direction. I'm looking for some information on Thin Clients and Device Manager (HPDM), specificly on imaging and best practice on building and capturing images, cross platform would be advantageous. I'm currently imaging using HPDM for my t5470, t5470e, t610 and t620 thin clients. I have been looking for some docuemntation on HP's recomended setup for imaging. is it to make a "golden image" or can it be scripted through HPDM like Microsofts SCCM or WDT?It would be fantastic if I could get this down to a single WES7 Image for most of my Thin Clients if possible. Thanks in advance.J
HPDM doesn't provide functionality of building a image, tt just simply do capture and deploy. The factory image which include all the drivers are built by HP WES R&D, there should have person who can help you, but as far as I know there is no document to log the detail steps. I would suggest you raise an impact ticket to HP for help. MDT cannot be used to deploy image provided by HP. When build the image, no matter it's a factory image or Thinupdate captured image, HP has done some customization in/after imaging process. I don't think MDT can identify and even proceed these customizations.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/thin-client-imaging-cross-platform/td-p/5454867

I am currently converting our t610 thin clients from windows embeddded over to the smart zero software. I have had zero issues with windows pe but on the test batch of 30 thin clients that I have installed and configured for smartzero, I am having an issue. Whenever they are rebooted, sometime they will come up in PXE boot instead of booting to the hard drive and the only way to get them to boo tback to the hard drive is to physically pull the power. Any one have any thoughts on this?
Not sure how you have configured the SCCM server, but as far as I know, it could be possible to set network boot as only boot method via SCCM.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/T610-thin-client-gets-stuck-in-PXE-boot/td-p/5564783

Hi, I am trying to load any of the later versions of Win7 32bit 4G embedded onto two t5740e thin clients. The USB format stage is working correclty and allows me to image the thin clients, however when removing the USB and booting into windows, it hangs on the "Starting Windows". I know that the thin clients are working correctly as they were able to use a much older version of the same OS. I need one of the later versions of this OS on my devices in order to use the version of Citrix Receiver currently being used in my organisation. Is there anything anyone can suggest please? Thank you,Stephen Brookshttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/unable-to-image-thin-client-t5740e/td-p/5590634
Hi, I am using easy shell config in HP Thin Client T520 (Win 7 Embeded). I have published remote apps from a Terminal Server and installed the remote packages as local apps in the Thin Client (path: C:\Program Files\RemotePackages).In the Easy Shell Configuration I have configured the remote apps by adding them in the Applications tab. While running these apps from the Administrator (from easy shell), all works fine and the the remote apps are running fine. While trying to open them from the User profile the RemoteApp window appears and asks normally for the credentials but it stucks after entering them. It seems that the login proccess completes succesfully but the remote app fails to appear in full screen mode. Is there any modification to be done in the registry? waiting for your feedback, thank you in advance. Hi I hope I ve posted this in the right section I ve got a PC and an HP Thin Client with an Aten KVM switch and a Samsung LCD TV monitor screen resolution x When it was just me my PC and monitor I didn t have any issues and picture was crisp but since I ve been given the HP and KVM switch it s causing nothing but grief Screen res always switch and monitor Thin Issues HP KVM with Client, readjusts and settings won t save My PC desktop even realigns all icons to the left of screen rather than keeping them sorted in the way I had them sorted When I change the resolution back to x everything is back to it s original size but I lose major video quality It s quite blurry When using the thin client occasionally it doesn t even give me the option to select x - the bar just doesn t go up that high If I shut down and go back in it seems to fix the problem but it s a little annoying to do this every time When I take the KVM switch out of the equation my PC is back to perfect again but the thin client still plays the same games with the screen resolution Any ideas on how I can fix this or even Issues with HP Thin Client, KVM switch and monitor just an explanation as to why it would be happening would suffice Oh and please don t get too technical with your response I know Issues with HP Thin Client, KVM switch and monitor how to use a computer but as far as what s inside goes I m completely clueless Thanks nbsp
This clearly sounds like the KVM doesn't have the required bandwidth to support the resolution of that display. I suspect the RX is a better KVM.

Hello! We are experiencing long start-up times from our new HP Mt42 laptops. The thin clients are configured from the HPDM (HP Device Manager), where i made an image from one the laptops which i configured for our company. The start-up time till the thin client is 'ready to use' is 90 seconds. I think that is way too long for a thin client. The longest part in the start-up is when the HP Logo is on the screen, and the rotating dots appear. It stays there for about 30 seconds. After that, the screen turns black for about 10 seconds. Then the standard User account is loading which takes 20 seconds. Then the Thin client needs about 30 seconds to Start-Up the standard HP Tooling, UWF etcetc..Any recommendations to make the boot time shorter?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/Slow-Starting-HP-Mt42-Thin-Client-version/td-p/5821341

Hi, I have a remoteapp published (via RDP file) from a 2012r2 server. All is well testing with Win7 client computers. Now I need to select thin clients to run this app, but am struggling with what will or won't work. t410, t510, t610?Which OS? Thinpro, and FreeRDP, or WES 7 or 8? A pointer to a "product selector" would be awesome ;-). But failing that, any recommendation or discussion is appreciated.
Personally, I suggest WES8, as it provides the support of latest version of RDP client.

Hi - on ebait, someone is selling dell thin clients with windows 7 embedded. The computer is "Dell Optiplex FX170," with an Atom N270. I cannot find info on the motherboard. When I have looked at Windows Embedded info, it seems that it is supposed to have great modularity so that the OS can be kept small and can be tailored to specific apps.
I have loaded Win7 on an Asus netbook, so I know the Atom processsor will run Win7 decently.
What degree of Windows functioning would I have if I tried to use one of these as a normal stand-alone desktop? Could I run most all Windows-compatible software? I am guessing software would have to be loaded onto flash drive or another drive - it seems like this comp only has memory for the embedded OS.
You can set Windows Embedded to install itself essentially as a Win7 machine. Just check all the modules.
I am unsure on program compatibility.. it should be OK, but I'm not 100%
Also, you're actually gonna buy this thing? Do you know what a thin client is?

I'm trying to send a HPDM rule task that will sync the system clock to an NTP server every day at a specific time. With the write filter off it works fine, but with it enabled the system reboots to commit the filter. I don't want it to reboot (I'm fine with the change being lost on the next reboot) but I don't see where to set that option. When sending a manual task, I can choose to send regardless of write filter status. Is there a way to do that for a rule task? We are currently attempting to upgrade a large amount of older machines at our facilities to WES thin clients HP models t e The rollout has been going quite well with one nagging Certificate Thin RDP HP popups Eliminating warning Client complaint a warning box when trying to connect to the RDP server Every time a user clicks the 'connect' button on the HP Connection Manager we get the following We have joined the thin clients to the domain created certificates and Eliminating HP Thin Client RDP Certificate warning popups we assigned trusted root CAs via Group Policy but the warning persists Going in through IE on the machine shows us the certificate IS being trusted despite Eliminating HP Thin Client RDP Certificate warning popups the warning box stating otherwise The only way we've been able to get the warning to stop showing up is by disabling all the local resource redirections IE 'redirect local printers' 'redirect comm ports' and so on I honestly don't know why that would affect the certificate being trusted or not but it's not a good fix for us We need local resource redirections for about half our deployments Has anyone here had experience with this or a similar issue
Hi CBT, welcome to the Seven Forums.
Do this on remote clients, both in Group Policy > Computer Configuration and Group Policy > User Configuration:
(Click to enlarge)If it does not resolve your issue, see this article for further information: How to resolve the issue: ?A website wants to start a remote connection. The publisher of this remote connection cannot be identified.? - Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services) Team Blog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs
Don't let the title fool you; in your case it's not a website making a remote connection but the workaround is the same.
I have an HP t520 Flexible Series Thin Client running Linux and the toolbar at the bottom is missing. Is it not hidden, as the gears icon doesn't even show in the lower center of the screen, nor does moving the mouse to the bottom reveal this toolbar. Hello, i bought a couple days ago a few thin clients from somebody. These has still their password on it for entering the bios. All thins are from the T5000 series. Dous anyone know how to remove this password? / or clear all setting to default?- i searched for a reset jumper, but didnt found it. Only one jumper is near the audio output, but i guess that isnt the one i'm searching for.- kept out CMOS battery for a few minutes, didnt help (maybe i must take it out longer?) thanks in advance, S Drosaert.
Thanks Hanspuppa, it worked. Suddenly i realized that, as you say, some capacitors may still have some charge on them right after shutting them down.So i left the thins unplugged for a whole night, and after that i removed the CMOS battary for 1 hour. Thats all. Thanks for your help..http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Thin-Client-T5000-series-password-reset/td-p/349237

Multiple t520 Windows 8 thin clients have repeatedly failed. Meaning occasionally when a user will boot up the device it will present a Blue Screen of Death recovery screen- " System needs to be repaired". This has happened on 6 or 7 of our windows 8 thin clients. In order to even get past the BSOD we have to re-flash with HP's stock windows 8 image. However, the issue is not occurring on our windows 7 thin clients of the same make and model. Only the Windows 8 devices. HP support has not been very helpful or synpatheic, we even sent a couple back to HP to re-image and they also fail again when placed back in production. Is anyone else having this issue with their Windows 8 t520 thin clients? My best idea is to roll back these machines to windows 7, however HP does not offer a solution to roll the devices down to 7 from 8.
The t520 Thin Client does not support Windows 8 32-bit, so I am assuming you mean WES8 64-bit. There is a recently updated WES8 image for this platform and I'm told it resolves a BSOD issue. If you want to try it, download and install the ThinUpdate tool Softpaq from the t520 drivers page. You can install ThinUpdate on any Windows PC connected to the Internet. It will download the image and build a bootable USB key (if you're not familiar with the tool.) Look for the images with the + symbol. --Keithhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Windows-8-t520-Thin-client-failures-consistent-crashes/td-p/5525437
Hi, After reimaging our T520/T510 Thin Client devices with the current HP ThinPro OS T6X52011 Rev.15 Jun 2015, after rebooting the devices some return with factory default settings. All settings are lost. This does not occur after every reboot, it can take 5-20 reboots of a device before it happens. There have been over 25 occurences of this. Is there a setting or something else that needs to be change? or is this a fault in the device HW?We have over 250 devices and 10% device reset is not good!! Hi nbsp T510 SCCM Thin filters / T610 write client HP I am deploying T and T Thin clients using SCCM Current Branch I captured a Cusomized WES image initially deployed from the HP GB image Now I am deploying the image and all goes well HP T610 / T510 Thin client SCCM write filters only the last part Finalizing the Task Sequence fails It ends up in Your computer is being serviced and the Win logon screen When I reboot Windows start with Starting for the first time And keeps doing this because write-filters is now enabled I can HP T610 / T510 Thin client SCCM write filters fix this by logging on as Administrator manually and disable the write filters reboot nbsp It looks like the TS then finishes nbsp I followed the document provided by HP http h www hp com ctg Manual c And used a Unattend XML with the settings as described in Appendix-B of this document It looks like the Commands from the Unattend XML work because Write-filters get enabled But Somehow it seems the Tasksequence is not completely finished when the write-filters get enabled nbsp Pls any suggestions to get a smooth deployment with write-filters enabled nbsp nbsp nbsp nbsphttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/HP-T610-T510-Thin-client-SCCM-write-filters/td-p/5849421
Hello nbsp We nbsp have a lot of new T Thin Clients nearly and I have several problems when they reboot They automatically reboot nbsp times per day nbsp We have an image that works perfect on and blue desktop Client screens T610 (0xC00... Thin gets frozen T and T Thin Clients but not in the T The only difference is that in T automatically enters as administrator nbsp Some of them randomly get frozen when rebooting or I get a blue screen Theses problems dissapears when I locally reboot them again pushing the button But it usually appears again in another reboot This doesnt happen in all of them but on most of them nbsp x F seems to be the power supply but they are new xC A seems to be winlogon exe the autologin to T610 Thin Client gets desktop frozen and blue screens (0xC00... Administrator I suppose nbsp These are pictures taken from the errors when rebooting T nbsp Frozen desktop it starts rebooting and get frozen like this Thi is the worst error because if I get blue screen I can tell windows to automatically reboot but when it freezes nbsp I can do nothing and I have to locally reboot pushing the button nbsp nbsp Error nbsp nbsp Error nbsp nbsp nbsp Thank you very much
Could you please explain why it would automatically boot into administrator's account on t610? What kind of customization have you done on this image?

Hey everyone, Ive been working on my new thin client (t620) recently and everytime i restart my thin client it resets to default/factory settins, everything gets deleted.ive tried to look up anything in the settings but didnt get anything off it. any help ? thanks in advance!
Is it a WES unit?If yes you need to first either disable the Write Filter and then enable the Write Filter after you made those changes or use the File-Based Write Filter and add the changed files/registry to it.Otherwise no change will be saved after a reboot when the Write Filter is enabled.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Thin-client-t620-Automatic-resetting-to-default-factory/td-p/5586340
