I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Password types :

Power On Password (pop). this password can be reset by unplugging the cmos battery for a while, and plugging it back in.

Supervisor/bios Password (svp). this requires reading the eeprom chip (8 leg or 14 leg) with an electronic device by using another pc's serial port or by paperclip method if model type available.

Hard Drive Password (hdp). this is usually tied to svp, but not all the time. it requires special software and a library of known manufacturer's password. but can be cracked either recovering the data or wiping the data.

I am working on a Toshiba Satellite with Insyde H2O bios. It says to use F2 for setup and F12 for boot manager.

I've tried all the function keys, as well as esc and del and they only get me to Windows Boot Manager. (This includes F2.)

The machine has Vista that stops loading when it gets to the network drivers. Could a corrupt BIOS be the cause? If I download a new BIOS can I install it from the command prompt?

If the BIOS is still OK are there other ways to get into setup?

(Meanwhile F2 works just fine on my Dell Lattitude)

Try using a USB keyboard...

"Could a corrupt BIOS be the cause?"

I don't think you would get that far in the boot process if the bios were corrupt

Hi,

as the topic states I think of making a move from my old t1100 to FX8350.
Tricky part is that I need to flash my BIOS to make the old AM3 plank support AM3+.

MB, m4atd89gt. And current BIOS is the stock BIOS 1006. The BIOS that I'm updating to is a 3029.
Has someone of you fellow techspotters tried this already? Were the results satisfying, or just infinite amount of crashing? Which I'm just a little afraid of when making the change.

Any advice for such activity?
And yes, I know they are AMD proceccors

cheers

I have a toshiba satellite C870-11H. It used to ask for the password whenever it went to sleep. I checked and the system is still set to do so.

Some time ago I got fed up with the clowns at Microsoft thinking their latest update was more important than whatever I happened to be doing and destroying the work I was doing so they could load their rubbish. I set the system to ask me before doing an update. Well it doesn't bother to do that and now very rarely it does load an update without authority. Could it be that my system is now way out of date?

Is there a customer focused operating system that I could use instead?

Thanks.

A:Laptop stopped asking for password

Every OS is customer focused. Microsoft is for non-Mac machines and getting things done. Linux is more powerful but requires more techy-ness to use.

Maybe try Mac OSX.

But there's nothing wrong with Windows. Sounds like you have a decent amount of problems.
Run WIndows update, make sure it's completed every update.
Run CMD.exe in admin mode, run sfc /scannow

Hello all,

I use an ADSL modem for accessing Internet in my home. I think my wifi password is stolen. I wanna change it but I have a computer only in my office and use the Internet in my home by my iPhone. Is there a way to change that password with my iPhone or should I surely use a computer to do that work, please?

A:How to change the Wifi password of an ADSL modem without a computer

Hello abbasi ,
You can use your iPhone to log in the router and change the wireless settings, however this isn't usually recommended. If something goes wrong when configuring the wireless settings and you are not able to connect to the router you'll need a device that can be connected via Ethernet cable to restore the access.
If this router is supplied by your ISP you can ask them if they have remote access to it to change the password.
Hope that helps.

Recently something strange happened with my pc and every keyboard I tried to use doesn't work.So I thought by formatting it the issue might be fixed, but since keyboards don't work I can't enter boot menu.Is there any other way to format it?

A:How to format my pc without entering bios?

You will have to remove the hard drive and format it in another pc.
But you can't install Windows O/S on the second pc as it won't run on your original pc.
After you have formatted the hard drive and fitted it back in the original pc, you might find the keyboard works properly again.
This assumes that you have the original Windows DVD and product key, or you have a saved image of your 'C' drive complete to copy back again.
( I would be more worried about why none of your keyboards work, but if you can reinstall Windows again that would solve any keyboard driver issues anyway.)
Hope that makes sense.

I replaced the mobo on my Dell 5510. Purchased from Dell. Sticker on mobo says BIOS ver A05. About every other day I get blue screen and physical dump of memory. My system info says my BIOS ver is A07. How do I go about changing BIOS? Is it as simple as pulling battery for 15 seconds? Some have offered this suggestion but I get a little worried at "friends" advice.

A:Replaced MOBO on Dell 5510 BIOS sticker on MOBO says A05, system in still has BIOS of A07

Removing the battery won't change the BIOS version. You need to download the version you require from the Dell site. From Windows you "flash" the BIOS. Take your time preparing for this. If anything goes wrong you will wreck your motherboard.

Removing the motherboard battery and waiting a couple minutes before replacing it should reset it to where you can gain access again. It should help you. If not then reset your jumper to clear the CMOS. You can get the jumper resetting instruction in the motherboard manual.

Had an AMD HP G62-227CL laptop that overheated and required motherboard replacement with similar Intel motherboard. Old board clocked at 2.2 MHZ .. new one is 2.0 MHZ.

I have a Rosewill RC-215 PCI SATA card with an Asus SATA DVD/CD Rom drive hooked up to one of the SATA ports. When I boot up, the motherboard (Asus P4PE) bios doesn't recognize my DVD drive(Asus DRW-24B1ST) so I can't boot up from a repair CD/DVD disk. But once I'm in Win2000, the DVD drive (Asus DRW-24B1ST) is recognized and usable. And it shows up in My Computer, and Device Manager.

I need some advice so I can figure out how to be able to boot up from a DVD/CD when I need to.

A:DVD/CD ROM not recognized by bios, but works after Win2000 starts

You may have to spend a few bucks and get a PATA/IDE DVD drive. You have drivers for the SATA card loaded after 2000 boots, so that is why it works.

Have a look through your BIOS and see if there is any option that supports your SATA card. I remember this back on the A7V boards with the Promise ATA 100 controller vs the 33/66 that was 'included' with the motherboard.

I assume you have looked for that option in the BIOS. If you have, and it doesn't exist, I think you will have to pick up a non SATA drive.

Also, I think its pretty cool that someone is still running 2k.

I hardly know anything about the BIOS so I am asking you this:
Will I need to update my BIOS and if so how to do that?
Am I going to update it to the latest version(2103) or the version when the processor was first compatible(1006)?

Please help, I do not want to make a mistake when updating so please provide a detailed explanation ! ! !

A:BIOS update

Some might say updating the BIOS is not worth the risk unless you have a reason to chance it. On the other hand I've never had a BIOS update go badly. BIOS updates are not that difficult to do. But there is always a risk of the update failing. In the off chance of failure, the motherboard will be bricked. There are motherboards that come with a second BIOS for failsafe. I don't know if the failsafe can be used under a bricked board, I will assume it can until I hear otherwise.

There are three ways to update that I am aware of. All of which may not be available depending on motherboard model and age of system.

Within the Operating System (I've used this method but for awhile it was advised against)
You will need to download BIOS Update application. The application will download and install the new BIOS.

Within the BIOS
Within the BIOS there is an update facility. You will only need the new BIOS. (My BIOS will only update from a USB stick.)

From DOS utility
Not only will you need to download the new BIOS, you will need to download the flash utility that is designed for the update.

I recommend updating from within the BIOS (assuming you have this option). Download the new BIOS to a USB stick and then boot into the BIOS. Browse around to find the update facility and the rest is self explanatory.

cue 10 , minutes restarting and mashing the hell out of my keyboard. still nothing.

I dont have a fn key to press, its a standard keyboard, no special bios, just the standard asus bootscreen.

any help?!?

What kind of bios you have is it AMI BIOS, AWARD BIOS, PHOENIX BIOS ETC, try pressing f2 button..

Hi there. Since I bought my new mouse and illuminated keyboard, when I use the PC a lot, they have spontaneously been stoping for a period of time and then they work fine. I didn't have this problem before because I had a ps2 keyboard. Now I have USB mouse and keyboard and this happens. I do believe there is a problem with the power management. A friend of mine has the same motherboard and he incurs the same problem. I have a Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3V and here is a printscreen of my bios with the power management tab.
What settings should I change?

A:Bios power management

Hi,

I think you'd be able to adjust that power management settings in Windows under

Control Panel>Power Options>Edit Plan Settings>Change Advanced Power Settings>USB Settings
Or in Device Manager>USB Root Hub Properties>Power Management Tab

Hi guys,

I'm going to find the following info about new/recent computers. Is there anyone who likes to help?

1-Where the BIOS is stored on the motherboard? Inside the ROM, EPROM or something like USB storage on the motherboard?

2- I have also heard that this (BIOS) is stored into CMOS and a battery supplies the power for the settings of the BIOS, correct?

3- Also I have read that in the new motherboards there is a jumper that can delete the settings of the BIOS. What's your thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

A:BIOS & ROM on the Motherboard

1. See #2
2. CMOS is correct, sometimes these are removable chips.
3. Yes, many motherboards have a jumper to reset to defaults, this is pretty important for overclockers, because you can set the BIOS to settings that are so unstable the computer can't get to the BIOS.

4. Your definition of recent/new is not in alignment with what most people would say is new. Motherboards for a few years now have been shipping with UEFI rather than a traditional BIOS.

A:IDE Drive Recognised by BIOS not by Operating Systems

Hey 3g. I've never been in that situation myself, I do believe the BIOS only reads parameters about the drive that it gets from the preprogrammed circuits in the drive, whereas Windows is trying to actually read data off the drive and can't. Is the drive configured correctly for where it's placed with it's jumper pins?. You may want to run a diagnostic test on the drive from the link below

A strange problem indeed.

Triple check your wiring is correct using your motherboard manual. Be sure the motherboard is mounted correctly on the standoffs and no grounds are occurring.

Faulty buttons on the case itself?

Reset bios to optimal defaults, clear cmos.

After that I would return the mobo.

Sorry I cant be more specific, Hope this helps.

A:BIOS 'interact' with hard drive/OS files

The Boot sequence of a PC has this (legacy) sequence of events

Power On Self Test (POST) occurs
The video card is found
Secondary rom' are found and executed (eg IDE/ATA,...)
Bios vga display
System inventory of the devices occurs
PnP devices are found
Using the Boot sequence map in the BIOS, a device that is ready and bootable is found
the MBR is read if found
and the BOOT.ini processed to locate the kernel
ELSE FAIL
So the list of ready devices are sampled to find a MBR.
For UEFI support, the BIOS looks for the /boot partition.

Hi I have a HP Laptop it?s but with newish software running vista. Its all been working fine form about a year or so. The other day some of the keys stopped working, I have not dropped it or spilled anything on it. I turned it and when I tried to go back in to it, it came up with the black BIOS screen. However as the keys were not working it would not let me select anything (i.e safe mode) it times down to open in the already highlighted section which was rum window as normal (or something like that) it then gave a blue screen and said it was doing a crash dump. After this it went back to the black BIOS screen and repeated the whole thing. Its stuck in some sort of loop. I don?t have any disks to reinstall what can I do???

Try borrowing a keyboard that has a PS/2 connection. Your generic keyboard might have had a problem. I had to use a PS/2 keyboard in order to enter into bios on an old desktop that I had. It was annoying, but for some reason the motherboard wouldn't recognize the USB keyboard until it booted into Windows. Give this a try and see if it helps.

A:BIOS Upgrade question

BIOS updates are always considered risky and recommended only when necessary. With that said I have never had issues while updating, but that doesn't mean I never will. What I'm trying to say is no one can guarantee 100% success.

After studying the links you provided, I'm thinking you have a Core2 processor that your motherboard will not support.

BIOS updates are software updates. Board revisions are hardware updates.
The P2.10 BIOS update seems to require the V2.0 board revision in order to support the CPU in question.

In other words it looks as if the BIOS update supports your CPU but also requires the V2.0 board revision. Without the needed hardware, the software update is useless (unless you need the update for another reason).

Hey guys, I've attempted a bios update through this website and I've been left with this sitting on my desktop for two days and the loading bar has not moved an inch.
I tried to update the BIOS because for the last few weeks when my computer is booting the screen would go blank and just stay blank and I would have to keep resetting until it would finally boot. I was hoping a bios update would do the trick otherwise I would not have bothered.

Im worried if I exit out or shut-down my computer I could corrupt my BIOS. Any ideas?..

A:Bios update help

I would exit and maybe try again. Thats the download phase which has nothing to do with the actual update process. The download will complete, before any attempts to update will begin. Updating the BIOS can be very risky, updating would never be handicapped by possible problems of downloading.

I folllowed asus instructions and copied the bios to a floppy disk and tried to flash from that. Is the 1.5 TB drive the one that had Windows installed to it? If so, it is pretty likely you are screwed.. I mean, there are some options you have, but none have a real high success rate on a drive that has failed.

Check out the tools on Hirens boot CD. Boot from that, and have a go with a few of those tools, that is your best chance now outside of professional recovery. Professional recovery costs will strongly test how "irreplaceable" those pictures are.

Hello! I'm new here at Tech Spot. This is a great website.

Where can I get a copy of the newest BIOS update for my motherboard?

Model: Asus P5GD1-VM Motherboard
Version: 0602
Chipset: I915
Date: 09/06/2005-16:48:11
Onboard Sound: Azalia (swa)
Onboard LAN: Exist (wl)
BIOS Size: 512 K
BIOS Type: AMI

I downloaded all BIOS .ROM files in the official website of Asus. But it weren't compatible with the BIOS to be flashed.

Please help me! Thank you very much in advanced!

A:Motherboard BIOS update

The latest BIOS for your board is version 1015. It's not necessary to load each BIOS in order, just load the latest. To load the BIOS you must copy it to a floppy disc and rename it P5GD1-VM.ROM If you didn't rename it, that's why it won't load. On the same Asus download page, you can get the user manual for your board, which goes into detail how to reflash the BIOS. It can render your motherboard un-bootable if you do it wrong, so I would read the manual before attempting it again, and follow instructions carefully.

I upgraded my cpu to a 3GHz cor2duo E6850 from a E4500 2.2GHz
now my pc is stuck on bios logo screen.

When it powers with the new CPU I get one beep then it just sticks on bios logo screen, I left it for 20 minutes.

So I put my old CPU back in and updated bios then it stuck on logo screen witch ever CPU I used.
So then I tried to reset cmos, that's when it really crapped out, no beeps no display.
so then I took my cmos battery out and drained the board put my old processor back in and (thank god) it booted into windows.

Bad CPU?

Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Motherboard is a foxconn 45cmx (Bios has been updated)

You've pulled out all the stops. If the BIOS doesn't see the drive, there's not really anything more you can do. Drive has failed somehow. Send back to mfg. if still under warranty. Hope this helps!

A:Can't operate my BIOS menu

It'll recognise the right one but the problem is this varies between different computer makes and motherboards. There are a lot of possibilities. Try Googling for example - key for bios (Acer). If no joy post back details of the computer model and no doubt someone will be able to suggest the correct key or combination of keys.

I powered down the machine yesterday (Shut Down) and now this morning the computer will not boot.
When I try to boot the machine the BIOS screen does not appear, the HD light flickers on but then stays off. All other lights on the machine are on as normal. The fan kicks in within 30 seconds and sounds like it's running at maximum revs.
I did a hard reset and reseated the HD and the RAM and replaced the RTC battery without fixing the issue.
I will disassemble the unit and make sure the fan is not clogged, in the meantime does anyone have any thoughts ?
TIA

I recently bought 2x4GB sticks of DDR3 ram for my computer only to find out that my motherboard only supports 4BG of DDR3 total. So I started looking around to find out and see if there was an update for my mobo's bios and how to flash it. There is an update for it but I also know if you do not absolutely need to flash the bios you are better off not doing it. The basic situation is if the updated Bios will allow support for more ram, then I can save money by not having to get a new mobo and CPU to upgrade my systems ram. If I am completely off base here let me know but the bios was the only thing I could think of that could effect the capabilities of the mobo.

A:Would updating BIOS help in this situation?

Flashing the bios will not let your mother board support 8 gigs of ram. If was only design to run 4 gigs

After doing this they said the game started to work.

Im only asking this because I have a computer that should be able to take 3 gigs of ram. But for some reason all the ram ive tried in it only read as 128 *which could be possible cuz the ram was from old systems* but I just got a 512 stick of ram for it but when it came it reads 128mb as well. They could have sent me the wrong thing but now im wondering if for some reason there was a limit set on it somehow. So im just wondering if thats possible.

A:Can you force a RAM limit through BIOS?

Do not just buy RAM randomly, you must know the exact model. Try running this utility: http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/
The utility will tell you what ram to purchase and the maximum it can hold. What is the model of the PC because there may be a BIOS issue if it is a newer more than old PC.

Hi

I recently installed a gigabyte B75M-D3H 1155 mobo, i5 cpu, my pc boots fine but there is no BIOS splash screen at all and it is worrying me. I can boot into win 7 fine, but when I turn the computer on it goes from blank screen very quick (1 second) cursor flash, then windows splash screen. Is something wrong? It has done this since the 1st time I booted it. Going into the Bios there is an option named "full screen logo show" but it makes not difference whether that is enabled or not. My monitor is on the whole time, not waking from sleep or anything like that.

A:New motherboard - BIOS splash screen is skipped during boot

The new MBoards are really fast going through the BIOS Post. I looked at thier site, and there is a utility that lets you access the BIOS through Windows. Install the app, then you can set a post delay.

My detected and CD-ROM BIOS not HDD in desktop had windows xp installed in it Yesterday I tried to installed XP- sp in it I inserted the bootable cd and repartitioned the whole hard drive Then selected C drive for installing the windows XP- SP then the option came formatting the drive with NTFS CD-ROM and HDD not detected in BIOS format I selected it and C drive was formatted But after formatting the system shows an error The message was quot The drive cannot be formatted due to an error please use another partition for installing windows Then I selected D drive and the same message was displayed again Then it showed that there is an error in installtion and CD-ROM and HDD not detected in BIOS press F to quit setup Then I restarted the windows and tried to changes booting device priority Now in BIOS only floppy drive is being displayed No HDD and CD-ROM is displayed in booting devices But initially before installing XP- SP cd I entered BIOS and changed the priority to CD drive At that time both HDD and CDROM was displayed in booting devices priority I dont know what to do now Every time I open windows now it shows that quot Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device quot And when I am entering BIOS and trying to change the boot devices priority neither HDD nor CD-ROM is being displayed there Hows that possible that both HDD and CD- ROM is not detected in BIOS Please help guys Ur advice might be very helpful for me Thanks in advance Regards Vishal nbsp

A:CD-ROM and HDD not detected in BIOS

Hi Vishal, One simple thing you could try, is to remove the BIOS battery, leave it out of the pc for 5 minutes.
Fit it back in the pc, and try again.
Also if that battery is more than 5 years old it may be at a low voltage, so if you have a voltmeter you should get 2.5 to 3V dc, across the battery.

I switched some switches in my BIOS to try to increase performance, and all that ended up happening was that my computer won't boot up AT ALL. Is there some way on a motherboard to perform a hard-reset off all features?

A:Is there any way to fix my BIOS?

Un-plug the PC from the wall.
If it's a portable PC, take out the Battery.
Last but not least, remove the motherboard battery (usually the size of a small coin) for about 10 Minutes.

All customized BIOS settings are stored in memory powered by a battery and removing the motherboard's battery will default all settings to factory.

My son tried to install drivers and a new USB mouse.
Immediately a message "something about a conflict" popped up and the keyboard became unresponsive.
He tried rebooting, still keystrokes have no effect--so he can't log in to remove or reset the driver.
F2 during startup doesn't take you to a BIOS screen, instead, it brings up "Windows Boot Manager"
(We own 2 of the same model computer and F2 is the proper key for BIOS)
F10 works normally
Keyboard uses serial port.
Would removing and reinstalling the CMOS battery be of any use?

Believing that people who post questions on the internet should be courteous enough to post solutions or workarounds, when found, here it is:
I bought a USB keyboard and both it and F2 now work.
Problem is apparently either the serial port itself or the serial keyboard driver--probably the latter.
I had tried 2 different keyboards earlier but both of those had been serial.

Hi, when I push the power button on my Asus k50ab all I can see
is a black screen and the power light on.
1. Windows doesn't start at all.
2. Even when I tried to start with my RAM removed it's the same, only black screen,
no sound, nothing.
3. I tried to shuffle my RAM around in any possible combination is the same.
4. I also tried to start with my HDD removed, its the same.
5. I tried (quite a lot) to remove the battery, unplug the cable then
press the power button for 60 seconds and then start without the battery,
but sadly no result. Even tried it with my lid in the lowest angle possible.
6. I also tried to plug a monitor to my laptop (I did also press Fn+F8 to change
displays), but still nothing.
If anyone has any idea whats going on I'll be very thankful.

ive tried switching between different web browser. default gateway is 198.162.1.1

tried using cmd prompt. used ipconfig /release. ipconfig /renew. just for the heck of it.

ive also read that this same model and version is giving alot of people trouble as far as resetting it goes.

honestly, im not sure what firmware i have installed. im not sure how to check it... if that may be the issue.

while trying to login to router via firefox, i get the security level 15 message

cant remember my username/password

A:Unable to reset linksys BEFW11S4 ver 4 router

Sounds like your router needs a hard reset, the following has helped me in some cases, but be aware, if these procedures don't work, than your router has gone bye bye, it's junk.

To reset your router to factory defaults, use the following procedure:

1) Power down all computers, the router, and the modem, and unplug them from the wall.
2) Disconnect all wires from the router.
3) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
4) Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds, then release it, then let the router reset and reboot (2-3 minutes).
5) Power down the router.
6) Connect one computer by wire to port 1 on the router (NOT to the internet port).
7) Power up the router and allow it to fully boot (1-2 minutes).
8) Power up the computer (if the computer has a wireless card, make sure it is off).
9) Try to ping the router. To do this, click the "Start" button > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt. A black DOS box will appear. Enter the following: "ping 192.168.1.1" (no quotes), and hit the Enter key. You will see 3 or 4 lines that start either with "Reply from ... " or "Request timed out." If you see "Reply from ...", your computer has found your router.
10) Open your browser and point it to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to your router's login page. Leave the user name blank, and in the password field, enter "admin" (with no quotes). This will take you to your router setup page. Note the version number of your firmware (usually listed near upper right corner of screen). Exit your browser.

If you get this far without problems, try the setup disk (or setup the router manually, if you prefer), and see if you can get your router setup and working.

If you cannot get "Reply from ..." in step 9 above, your router is dead.

If there's some time left on any type or warrenty for this device, I would recommend using it, that is if in fact your router is dead.

Good luck.............hope this helps!

Dear All.
I have been stuck to a peculiar problem. Let me discuss the situation. I Have got the following configuration: Asus motherboard with Intel Dual Core processor, 2 GB of DDR2 RAM and one 80GB P-ATA and one 500 GB S-ATA HDD. I have installed Windows in the S-ATA HDD and decided to use the P-ATA HDD as additional storage drive. Now the problem is, sometimes the system cannot detect the P-ATA HDD, and sometimes when it detects it appears as Primary IDE Slave and in that case the SATA drive disappears from the boot priority drive list in bios setting. So the system cannot boot. Presently I am using my PC without connecting the P-ATA drive. But I want to use both of them. In this situation can u masters help me out of this problem? Thanks in advance........ Kabiraj.

A:My SATA HDD is not available for boot priority selection in BIOS settings

Is the BIOS updated to it's latest firmware?
Alternative solution would be that you buy an pata HDD USB box and put the pata HDD in there.

My dad's Dell Studio 1537 laptop hanged during a bios update, so the bios chip is fried. I want to desolder the chip and replace it with a preprogrammed new bios chip, but I'm not able to indentify or locate which EEPROM is the bios chip.

Anyone with tips how to identify the right chip?

A:Dell Studio 1537 BIOS chip number or location

I got a reply from the website that sells the chips and they identified the right chip for me based on a picture I've send them. In case someone else has the some issue: it's the chip on the back of the mainboard next to the large chip with the label ITE.

The id of the chip is:
MX - 15G
25L1605AM2C
2Y330100
TAIWAN
L082124

A:Unable to see virtualization option in BIOS

may not support it. make sure you look up the processor you have and check if it supports it.

Windows 7 64-bit
Motherboard: F1A75-M Asus
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracude 7200 Sata 3.0 320GB
Processor: Llano AMD A8-3850 2.9GHz Quad Core
Memory: 12gigs DDR3 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance RAM
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX560Ti - 2gb GDDR5 - 256bit

Power Supply: 600w Corsair

When I boot or reboot my screen remains black for about 3-5 minutes and then Windows will boot.

I do not see my boot screen (where it says "Press DEL to enter BIOS" ), nor am I able to boot into Safe Mode holding down the F8 key.

Any ideas on what could possibly be causing this?

The system is brand new, and windows was just installed for the first time about 4 days ago. I have never been able to enter BIOS or start in Safe Mode.

I have a dell vostro 1500 needing a fresh install of xpi got from a friend who had for some reason taken it all the way apart and when he put it back together the screen stayed black when you turned it on. i fixed that, but the keyboard will not work at all so i can't access the bios to change boot order. I have taken back apart and everything seems intact. I am assuming a usb keyboard will not kick on in time to let me access it either. . . so i am stuck

A:Can't access BIOS on Dell laptop because keypad isn't working

"I am assuming a usb keyboard will not kick on in time to let me access it either"...

Try this before you say you are stuck... Keyboards are cheap. Check them out on EBay

A:BIOS not detecting Internal SATA DVD/CD optical drive

Apart from the detection on the screen, does the drive seem to work normally? If so, I would leave it alone.

If not, the drive has likely failed... it doesn't take much for an optical drive to go bad.

Final test? Does it work in another computer?

A:Anyone know how to enter the BIOS of a HP/Compaq?

I haven't looked up the power requirements for a 6670 but I think I can safely say you'll need a new power supply, preferably a reliable brand. If you still wanna get into the bios you could try the "delete" key.

I just try to install KOMPUTERBAY 1GB DDR DIMM (184 PIN) 400Mhz PC3200 DDR400 DESKTOP MEMORY on a EMachine T3120. With 2 sticks of mem, it started beeping and it would not boot. With one stick it will boot but after a few seconds it will go to the Blue Screen of Death.

When I replaced the 512mb ram original it all went back to normal. I thought I had the wrong RAM since it look different from the old (see attached picture) but I was told I might had to do something to the BIOS. Any ideas?

A:How to change BIOS to accept new RAM on a eMachine T3120

Your're gonna have to look for a long time... It is time to change out of that eMachine into something you can learn on, and enjoy. The life expectancy of eMachines among our clients has been very short.
There isn't anybody at eMachines that can help you on this issue either.
