Short DST failure in system test

Q: Short DST failure in system test

I recently had problems with my computer and I did a system test which came up with the failure Id 9gf14k-79j87h-qffv6k-60rn03. What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Preferred Solution: Short DST failure in system test

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

@JockoTheTaco?, welcome to the forum. This error message is telling you that your hard drive has failed. Your only option is to replace it. You should buy a HDD the same size or larger to assure that the Recovery media will work with it. Here is a guide to help you with the replacement. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I ran the hardware test this morning and everything passed but the SMART short self test. It failed and gave me this code. WHD01V00G-BK7W0J It says to send to Lenovo but I don't know where. I also can't add my laptop to my products on my account. I keep getting a message #WL Service Busy #   What do I do?

hi Smurfette,

Welcome to the Forums.

The image below is the breakdown on how the LSC error codes mean.

The SMART short self-test that failed may have detected some certain sectors on the drive that are bad and predicted an imminent HDD failure so I would recommend you contact the lenovo helpdesk and report your findings as you likely need to send the unit for service.

Whenever the Hard Disk Short DST test fails that indicates that the Hard Disk Drive has failed and that requires a replacement to resolve the issue This issue could be due to Application or driver conflicts, virus issues, file corruptions due to incompatible applications, improper shutdowns, update failures due to conflicts, sudden power surges, if notebook is dropped etc.. HP will provide a replacement Hard Disk Drive if the Notebook warranty is Active, If not you need buy a SATA Hard Disk Drive from a retail shop nearby Please make sure you are getting at least equal capacity as the original one in order to use Recovery Disks. If you need you can buy a larger, but not smaller capacity Hard Disk Drive. For example if you have a 500GB Hard Disk Drive you can upgrade it to 750GB Hard Disk Drive but not 320GB Hard Disk Drive Please try the below shown troubleshooting steps once:Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the AC/Power AdapterStep 02. Press and hold the Power button for more than 30 SecondsStep 03. Plug in the AC/Power Adapter (leave the Battery out for now)Step 04. Press the Power button and check if the Unit works normal If the above mentioned steps does not help, then you can try reseating the Hard Drive on your Notebook If the issue persists again please Contact HP if your HP Notebook is under warranty, HP would replace the Hard Disk Drive and provide you a Recovery media to restore factory operating system after replacement (if you've not yet created Recovery Discs/USB Media) Note: Back up all the personal data to an external drive if it's possible. Otherwise you could connect the failed HDD via SATA to USB adapter with another PC or same PC after replacement of HDD & re-installation of OS and try copying /recovering the files. HP diagnostics returned error code 9lhvwc-5rg85u-mfh15f-60t903 during a hard drive short self test this evening. Prior to the test, the disk drive was working very slowly, as if it had trouble reading data. I am able to log in with windows in it's normal mode, but the drive performs poorly. Safe mode is better. I own an HP dv7-6175us with serial number 5ch134ijx7.

A:Hard Drive failure during short test

I suspect it's an issue with the header, because the disk drive was also clicking, and it was the click you hear when the accelerometer halts the hard drive. I suspect it's impact/shock damage. It was repeatedly clicking for about 5 time before I shut it down manually.

Hi,

I recently ran a scheduled diagnostic test of my PC with the manufacturer's diagnostic software. I received two error messages and the advice to promptly replace my hard drive. The first message was Failed (Error code: WHD20-1VR) and the second was Failed (Error code: WHD16-T57). The apply to Targeted Read test and Smart Short Self Test respectively.

So I ran Chkdsk for the C: drive and received no error messages.

Which is correct and what should I do about it? The error message won't go away on the software.

Thanks for helping.

A:Question: Failed Targeted Read Test and SMART Short Self Test

CHKDSK is a very basic check that mostly checks file system and can be set to scan for bad sectors. The manufacturer's diagnostics actually check the physical drive to make sure its operating within the designed parameters and is more thorough.

You should replace the drive.

A:G50 - targeted read test and smart short self test...

Hi there, Naveen-
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

The SMART Self-Test Unit means that the diagnostic utility failed to read some certain sectors on the drive and predicted an imminent HDD failure.

If with the test you did you are getting a SMART test or a smart short test failure then I believe you need to back up your data and be ready to replace the drive.

I recommend you contact Lenovo support and report your findings as you likely need to send the unit for service.

Update us how it goes.

I recently decided to recover my computer (Toshiba Sattalite A135 S4677), because it was getting slow, and I didn't have any personal files on it. I put in the cd, ran the recovery utility, and it said it was finished. I restart, and it gives me the following:

"PXE-E61 Media Test Failure, check cable"

I tried reinstalling the os, but it says it could not find the hard drive. Also, i returned the bios to default configuration. What more can I do??? :

A:PXE-E61 Media Test Failure on recently recovered system

Hello samir155,

Welcome to the Forums.

This problem is a hard drive fault. You can try resitting the hard drive if that's something you know how to do, although a replacement hard drive may be nessacery.

However, something which i've seen fix this problem first hand, believe it or not, is to give the laptop a good old whack. Putting some relative force into a slap on the rear setions of the laptop has resolved this issue. Although i should add, it's entirely up to yourself if you wish to try it.

This problems happens because of a problem with the head and the platter.

Goodluck,

C.Skyco

Hi,

I have turned my laptop on after an update and it won't load up,
At first it said to launch startup repair or start normally,

I chose start up repair but it didn't complete the repair.
It now comes up with a repetitive screen with PXE-E63: media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: exiting PXE ROM

I have tried googling the answer and going into the BIOS menu and to the boot section but I can't seem to change anything to work.

There is and exclamation mark in front of what I think is my hard drive on the screen

!HDD1/SSD1 TOSHIBA MK2555GSX-(S2)
CD/DVD HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT20N-(S4)
FDD
LAN

I DON't have anything in the disc drive and I don't have a recovery disc.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanx

Leon

A:Satellite L450D-13X does not boot system - PXE-E61: Media test failure

Hi

For me it looks like HDD malfunction and therefore the BIOS cannot find an bootable device and switches to the last possible bootable option which is LAN.

The exclamation mark in front of the HDD indicates that there is a problem with the HDD? therefore I think that you would need to replace the HDD and will need to install the system again.

PS: What notebook do you have exactly?

My computer Portege R200 PPR21E-00K00QEN is saying the usual toshiba stuff : ie

PXE - E61 : media test failure, check cable
PXE - MOF exiting PXE ROM

Insert system disk in drive

Now my model doesnt have a disk drive and i bought it second hand so I haven't got any recovery disks.
I have checked the HDD and its seems connected properly.

Would I need to buy an external disk drive and try and get a System disk or is there anything else I could try.

Any suggestions or advice?

A:Portege R200 - PXE - E61: media test failure - Insert system disk

The PXE - E61 : media test failure, check cable message appears because the notebook tried to boot from LAN.
Why?
Because it could not boot from HDD nor from another source like CD/DVD drive.
Mostly this happens because of faulty HDD.

So how to fix?

I think first of all you need to replace HDD.

Since the Portege R200 does not support internal CD/DVD drive, you would need to install the system using bootable USB flash memory stick or you would need to purchase an external USB CD-ROM drive which would be compatible with Prot?g? R200

A:Operating System not found (PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable)

Maybe I'm not understanding your log, but it appears to me that both your OS and data partitions are toast.
When a disk or partition shows up as raw, everything is gone, leaving only possibilities to reinstall, and even then, I'd do a diskcheck/repair before installing, as something made those partitions go raw so it might be a seriously corrupt hard drive.
I just repaired a Dell this past weekend that had the same thing happen to it and there was no saving it. The hard drive was simply too damaged so I had to change it.
It looked near idential to yours, except that it didn't have the OS and data partitions separated, but it was raw, just like yours.

I have a Dell Latitude D505 laptop and just yesterday when I try to open certain programs like Outlook, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office to name a few the program does not open and my computer locks up. Some other files open ok, its just that when I open certain ones it locks up. When I do a diagnostic I get an error at the DST test. The error I get is:

Start DST SHort Test
Test Results : Fail
Error COde : 1000-0146
Msg : Unit 0: DST Log contains previous error(s).

ANy one got any suggestions?

Run the System File Checker

Go to the Run box on the Start Menu and type in:

sfc /scannow

This command will immediately initiate the Windows File Protection service to scan all protected files and verify their integrity, replacing any files with which it finds a problem.

Unable to boot my computer this morning, I ran hardware diagnostics. The computer passed the memory check and the SMART check but failed the Short DST.Error code: UFH3HF-000840-XD7V7F-60SL03Product ID: G8B26UC#ABAI know generally a failed DST test means the hard drive has gone bad, but I have yet to see an error code similar to mine on the forums so I thought I'd check, just in case.

A:Short DST Test Failed

Hi, Unfortunately, the code does confirm a failure of the short Disk Self Test and would indicate that the drive should be replaced.  The error codes are unique as they contain a hash other information such as the time of the test. Regards, DP-K

I ran Dell's PC Checkup and it failed on the SMART Short Self Test. From what I get this basically means my hard drive is going to fail any time, true? When I get a new hard drive can I use the Windows 7 code that's on my computer or will I have to re-buy Windows 7? Are there any tutorials for replacing the main hard drive? Thanks

A:SMART Short Self Test Fail

Well the drive may fail sooner or later but its a good idea to get another. Yes, you can use the key on the sticker on the computer to activate windows. Better still, while the current drive is still alive, just save an image of the windows install using Macrium free or Acronis to an external drive, then you can just restore to the new drive- you wont even need to use the sticker code.

Imaging with free Macrium

Heres how to replace your hard drive:

Run the 32-bit diagnostics on the system (F12 a few times at powerup to get to them).  Please post any error messages you see, along with the full system model (i.e., Inspiron N5110, 5531, etc.).

Hi all,

I got my Compaq computer just 1 year ago. Recently, the monthly maintenence test ran and SMART Short Self Test failed(Failed (Error code: HD521-2W). What does this mean? I went online and many posts said that it meant my Hard drive is dying. Is that true? Are there no other ways to solve this problem except replace my HDD?
Regards,

@Les1207? If you can not boot then remove the HDD and connect it to a SATA to USB connector.  Take it to any laptop/desktop and see if you can copy the DATA you need. REO

Welcome to TSF

DST stands for Drive Self Test, If it fails the test it means your drive is failing. You will need to replace it.

Here is the message I am getting after running the lenovo solutions diagnostic  WHD01V000-UJ7WQFWhat does this mean?My computer is a week old, got it off ebay, new, but had been set up already.  It has been running quite slow, when I open 20 tabs in firefox it will glitch and sometimes freeze, sometimes I can't access my files, it just says file explorer on the top and displays nothing and I can't close them.  It has 6gb ram and a core i5, e431 model, so it shouldnt be running so slow and this diagnostic worries me.  I called Lenovo before running the diagnostic and they said it could be a hard drive failure.  Anyone know this error message?

A:SMART short self-test Warning???

Hi,

Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!

If the result of "SMART short self-test" returns an error code, the hard drive has indeed failed or is about to. Then you may want to do a repair or have a new hard disk.

Take a backup of all your data while the hard drive can still be accessed and contact Lenovo Technical support if you are under warranty.

Click here to open a link where you can select the country and get the exact contact support number. I?m sure they will be a great help.

Best Regards,
Mithun.

SMART is a hard drive error reporting feature available on SOME (not all) hard drives, via hard drive firmware.

Check your BIOS Setup and see if it is enabled. IF the HD has the feature you will be able to enable it. It is an option usually in the same window listing your hard drives.

Hi, The 24 character error code does confirm a failure of the short Disk Self Test ( DST ) and would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with your description of the issue. If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - If needed, you can check your warranty status Here. If you live in the US, contact HP Here. If you are in another part of the world, start Here. If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know. Regards, DP-K

A:SMART Short Self Test - Failed HD521-2W

> Clone and replace WD Hard Drive?  If so, what is recommended WD replacement model? Your current disk-drive is 1000 GB.  So, any 1000 GB or 2000 GB drive will work, without any worries.Anything larger might have an issue, if the motherboard is "older". Note that WD offers a download of free "disk-cloning" software, as long as either the "source" or the "target" disk-drive was manufactured by WD. How "full" is your current drive?  Buy a new hard-drive, and backup all your data/files/music/pictures/bookmarks to it,while your current disk-drive is still working OK.  Or, "clone" your current disk-drive to the new drive. If the disk-drive is still under warranty from WD, WD will replace it.  You might have to pay for shipping it to WD. If the disk-drive is out-of-warranty, WD sometimes has a "customer loyalty" program. You tell WD the serial-number of the drive, and you get a discount on theh purchase of a new disk-drive from WD's online-store, and you don't have to return your current disk-drive.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.  Yes, the files can most likely still be retrieved.  To do this, you would need to take the hard drive out of the notebook and connect it directly to a desktop computer or insert it into an external hard drive dock/cradle and browse to the files you need.  If you feel this is too difficult then you could take it to a local computer repair store and they'll be able to do this for you (for their fee). Once you've got the old drive out, you can have another put in and recover the operating system using the HP Recovery Media and it'll put the notebook back into the same condition as it came out of the box.

This is an attempt at understanding what makes a power supply wake up.

I believe that you have to short a couple pins in order to make this happen.
Anyone know what pins to short?
Or am I on the wrong track?
I have a Power Supply checker that causes the PS to come to life when it is plugged into the molex connector. However, i am curious if, in the absence of this tester, if I could check the PS with a multimeter.

Hello everyone, About a month and a half ago, I've bought the mentioned laptop. During the first week of using it, I've noticed that somehing is wrong, so I ran some tests in Lenovo Solution Center. HDD had faild it, so I've contacted your service immidiately, and they replaced it with a new HDD.  The laptop was in service for like 27 days, and when I got it, I had a problem booting up a system... When it finally started to work I couldn't download and install drivers normally, it stared to freeze, aborted the actions etc. Like the last time, I managed to download Lenovo Soultion Center and ran the tests, again. The result of the test was Warning for SMART Short Self Test and SMART Drive Self test. Can you somehow advise me what to do? Thanks in advance.  Result code: WHD01V000-HL0Y9G

A:Lenovo Y50-70 SMART Short and Drive Self Test Warn...

Hi Dakilajk ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It would be best to contact tech support for the recommendation and decode of WHD01V000-HL0Y9G ,
and since you are experiencing freezing at this moment , back up your files as needed .

You may also run counter scan using similar diagnostic software as this to check further and verify the detected imminent drive read failure . SMART test are pre detection software to alert users to back up their files if the integrity test falls its set standard each different from different harddrive manufacturers ( example seagate , Western Digital etc.) .

LSC may be a bit sensitive to its SMART detection but then if you are having freezing issue , most likely it is doing its job as expected.

hi, the 'dst' means drive short test, so a problem is showing on your hard drive. You may want to consider running the longer test offered in the diagnostics section on your hard drive, but of course running tests on a failing drive has a risk attached. Do you have all your files backed up? If not, do you have another computer available, you could slave the drive to it in order to try to get your files off. Or, Can you get in to safe mode on your inspiron, as you start the notebook press the F8 key up and down to get to the safe mode menu. If you can do this back up your files before running the extended test.

My laptop will not boot, the screen comes on and the dell logo is there and the lights flash around the like it's trying to boot and then it goes dark and that's it.  When I check the setup it can find the hard drive, it lists it by the HDD.  When I run diagnostics it fails with short test unsuccessful.  I have reseated the hard drive and tried to reboot,  but it is not working.  I'd like to run chkdsk /r from the command console like I saw in one of the possible solutions, but I don't know how to get to the command console.  I'm thinking I need a new hard drive but I would like to try everything to save this one first.

Suddenly my dell latitude d620 stopped working. Message when I boot the laptop is "Start DST Short Test - no hard drive detected - error 1000-0141".

I removed the hard drive (hitachigst travelstar) and placed another one from another laptop. The laptop worked well. I placed the 1st hard drive in the 2nd laptop. I got the same error as above.

So is something wrong with the hard drive???

When I shake it gently, I can hear a small part moving inside. This doesnt happen in the 2nd hard drive. So is something broken too?

A:Short DST Failure

"Short DST Failed"

DST stands for "Drive Self Test" which means the hard drive is starting to fail.

For confirmation of this, download the drive-makers diagnostic software (the DOS version which is bootable).
The links are at top of this page: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

The download will consist of an ISO file from which you create a CD using Nero if you have it, or IMGBurn from here:
http://www.imgburn.com/

Boot your laptop from the CD you've made and run the test.

The PC Boots up ok in Safe Mode, but I can't run anything..the round circle swirls and then disappears. Can't run anything, it is very slow booting up.  I tried to chkdsk but it hung at 6%.  So I ran the advanced diagnostics which report Short DST failed.  All other tests pass.  FAILURE ID  9PMXNM-5BD884-XD002K-6OUH03  with PRODUCT ID XP267EA#ABU.  Hard Disk 1 Hard Disk Test: FAILED.The disk drive has a regular sound, so I feel that the drive has a physical problem.I have gone into CMD and accessed the drives, but when I look at User Documents directory, there are no files.  I am assuming that the drive is inconsistent.  The PC was Windows 7 64 bit but has been upgraded to WINDOWS 10 so don't know how to approach the change???Help!!

A:Short DST Failure

Hi, The error code does confirm a failure of the short disk self test and indicates the drive will need to be replaced. Firstly, regarding the HDD, your notebook is listed as coming with a 500Gb Hard Drive, but you can just as easily install a 750Gb HDD if you want a bit more space - the drives on the following links are examples that would be fine for your notebook. 500Gb Hard Drive 750Gb Hard Drive. The procedure to replace the Hard Drive starts on Page 45 of your Maintenance & Service Guide. Regarding reinstalling Windows 10 on the new drive, as the machine has been previously upgraded to 10, a hardware profile ( Digital Entitlement ) will have been recorded by the activation servers. As long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after the upgrade from 7, you can just create your own installation media and perform a clean installation as detailed in the guide on the following link.  Note: At the activation screen, select 'I don't have a Product key' - Windows will activate automatically once the installation has completed. http://www.howtogeek.com/224342/how-to-clean-install-windows-10/ Regards, DP-K

Hi guys
I just had a power out in my place due to a short circuited toaster...
After that, my pc wouldnt start. meaning:
I turn it on, the lights turn on, the all the fans start spinning, there seems to be some strange "woofing" noise (from what i think) the psu, i hear one long beep (2-3 seconds) and of course nothing on the screen

what do you think i should do before calling a pc repair man?
I'm pretty handy so should be no problem opening up the pc and pulling stuff in and out..

thanks

A:PC failure after a short circuit

if you know the type of bios it is [american megatrends/pheonix/IBM....] then google the beep numbers with it, so if you had an american megatrends motherboard with 1 long and 3 short beeps then look for a couple of sources that confirms that it's THAT part that might need replacing.

No video.

According to http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm , the problem is the video card.

Motherboard: ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=15&l3=148&l4=0&model=375&modelmenu=1

Video card is eVGA GeForce 7800GTX KO 256 MB PCIE

I removed the GeForce 7800GTX KO 256 MB PCIE , installed a new eVGA 7300 GS, as a test. Same problem.

ASSUMING that the 7300 GS is working, what can I do, other than replace the motherboard?

The ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe motherboard has 2 PCIE slots. I tried the 7300 GS in 1 slot; then the other. Perhaps the 1st slot needs to be occupied when a video card is placed in the 2nd slot.

Thanks for your advice.

Sincerely,
RF123

A:short SD failure, laptop start up fails

There are data transfer kits available. They will allow you to back-up thee entire operating system along with all your saved files to a new disk. I would suggest replacing your current drive with a SSD, as hard drive disks tend to not last as long when they are being moved around a lot. You will also appreciate the performance boost.

An issue I had resolved a few months ago has begun occuring again wherein the laptop has difficulty loading things when started up and soon after crashes and has to be restarted I assume this means the hard drive has failed again and so I have no doubts about how to resolve this but I am posting this query to ask Why Why has a laptop I have had for not even a year DST short failure... drive again. Hard check at this point already had the same problem occur twice even with replacing the part that broke the first time I'm willing to assume it's something to do with excessive use as I will admit it is switched for a Hard drive short DST check failure... again. good part of most days often for several hours as I play games on Steam on it I do not currently plan to have the hard drive replaced again as this is clearly an issue that is going to keep occuring the way things are and so I may as well get a Hard drive short DST check failure... again. PC that won't break every time a gust of wind hits it Any information on why this is occuring and how it could potentially be prevented in the future is appreciated particularly if it provides a solution that doesn't involve paying an extortionate amount of money

Possibly a quick question - I'm unable to load Windows and I've got Short DST Failure: Q0AFV3-7PD89P-PXPALJ-60Q503 with Product ID: K5G63AA#ABA. Is this just a failed hard drive or something else? I can install a new HD without problem. If it's something else then I've obviously got bigger problems. That failure code sheet isn't exactly written for the semi-technologically inclined. Thanks!

My hpnl laptop has been use a lot of service host and running slow. Then it would not boot all it would do it spinning dots, so performed a Hard Drive Short DTS test and it failed.Failure code: PQDXKR-7SA85C-MFPWMF-60UV03Descriton: Hard drive 1 - Primary HDD Bay*

A:Hard Drive short DTS check failure code meaning?

Hi, The  error code is a failure of the short Disk Self Test ( DST ) and would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with the boot issue you describe. If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - If needed, you can check your warranty status Here. If you live in the US, contact HP Here. If you are in another part of the world, start Here. If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know - include the full Model No. and Product No. of your 15 series notebook - see Here for a further explanation. Regards, DP-K

So i got this hp 2000 notebook pre installed win 8 from a friend. I did some HP tests and shows HD short DST Failure.
I was able to refresh the pc and it does run per sa but constant always getting dst failures. So i assume its dying. I bought a new hard drive for the unit. Now if i put it in, will windows setup pull the product key from the bios? I put windows 8 on a usb key. Can anyone guide me through the process?

A:hp 2000 notebook Hard Drive DST short failure, Reinstall?

Hi, if the PC came originally with Windows 8 preinstalled the product key is embedded in the BIOS so it would be detected automatically. Here is a great tutorial how to install Windows 8 Clean Install - Windows 8.

Good luck, werty

Test results: Fail
Error code: 1000-0141

Looks like the hard drive has failed again, you could however remove and reinsert the drive to see if that gets the drive detected again, most likely a failed hard drive.

I am experiencing a rebooting problem with a P III 450 System. So far I have replaced the ram, the motherboard (Abit BE 6 II), the power supply, the cpu, I have add a UPS and reinstall the win98 OS. I run Micro Scope and it indicated that I have a RTC RAM TEST FAILURE 32 00 20. Number one does RTC = Real Time Clock and two if so how do I correct a Real Time Clock failure, three are there any other things that I should check out.

A:RTC Ram TEST Failure 32 00 20

Well Real Time Clock is part of the motherboard. You said you already replaced that.

Since it says RTC RAM... I am guessing that it means it had trouble with a timing test loop in the RAM chips. But you said you replaced the RAM too.

So, personally, I would ignore that error and assume that the error is due to the program not working correctly on your system.

Try this one: http://www.simmtester.com/PAGE/products/doc/docinfo.asp

It's free and works very well. Let it run overnight - if there are no fails, and the machine doesn't reboot, I would say the RAM and power supply are ok.

What are these rebooting issues anyway? How often? What OS?

I have a Dell Latitude 600 and it totally crashed on me after a blue screen. I was unable to get into windowsXP. I ran the f12 diagnostic and it snagged on the DST Test. After looking around online, it sounded like my harddrive crapped out. I purchased a new one, and have the same problem. The new HD never booted up! Any help will be greatly appreciated!
