I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have to replace the battery in my Ideapad Z410.  Lenovo customer service tells me to contact product support, but my machine is out of warranty.  The model number on the back of my computer is 20292. I have tried entering my model# on the Lenovo website, so I can find a compatible replacement, and I get a message that they have no info for my model number. I have tried major retailers, and their customer support cannot tell me what is compatible. I just want to buy a %$#@ compatible battery, and it seems like no one can tell me what will be compatible.  Help! Thanks.

A:what replacement battery for Ideapad Z410?

Here is a snapshot of the batteries for your unit taken from the hardware maintenance manual.  From Ebay this battery seems to fit the third list from the top. Note it is of the 41.6 Wh capacity.

Lenovo's Community Moderators,& Rest of Lenovo's Ideapad S405 users,                    Sorry, this is a repeated post, I just now discovered I can post here, about my product.                   It appears my battery has completely died, who is the best & trust-worthy seller of Lenovo's Ideapad S405's batteries? And why                   Plus, I have lost the little metal clip that covers, in the back, the joint that connects the monitor to the rest of the laptop. If I do not replace it, then is it risking damage to my laptop? Rust? Water into the laptop? If I do decide to replace it, who is the best& trust-worthy seller of such a part?

My W540 is asking me to consider replacing the battery. The original battery is a 57++, 9 cells, 11.1V, 8.96Ah 100Wh, Li-ion00 battery. Searched on ebay, cannot find an exactly the same one.  The closest match one is this:  Some 9 cells 57++ is 10.8V, 9.21Ah and Li-ion 20  ----- does this one is better than mine original because of its lower V?----- do you have a reliable seller from ebay or amazon to recommend ? From the Battery Maintenance window I found there is a Battery Health Mode feature somewhere. But where I can find it??

Hi, my sons Z500 screen has cracked and I am after a replacement screen. This is the non touch sensitive screen and has a gloss finish. Could anyone tell me if Lenovo used just one screen for this laptop or if they used a couple of different types of screens during manufacture, like some other companies. I know I can remove the old screen to have a look at the specs, but my son is still using the laptop with an external monitor and would prefer me not to take his precious computer apart until I have the new screen. Any help will be very appreciated.many thanksIan

Hello, Have a need to replace LCD screen for Ideapad 300S. It seems laptop was bought last Dec and a slight ding on the back of display was enough to distort the LCD screen. The laptop came with FHD(1920x1080) screen. While looking for a replacement for the same model, I see an IPS version as well:https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/IBM-Lenovo/IDEAPAD~300S~80Q4000MUS/ Questions:(1) Was wondering if I can replace the current screen with IPS screen. Will that work?(2) Can I replace just the LCD without opening the whole laptop? i.e. just work through LCD bezel and do that? Of course, I need to be careful not to damage the LCD converter cable. Is that feasible or is it too risky an approach and I should open the cover, disconnect the cable from system board first and go that route? Thanks for you help.

A:Battery Replacement Toshiba OEM or Battery-Biz

Could you provide links?
I think with batteries the big thing is Watt/Hours. (Don't quote me on that tho)
You might be better off using the same battery as the one you had before, simply for the sake of reliability.
It also will depend on what you use this laptop for.

I have the 10.6" little red 100s Ideapad with Win 10. It comes with a 32GB eMMC SSD and I thought that would be sufficient, as it is a 2nd system for me. I have a 'workhorse' Dell laptop that I use at work and home and I bought this to take to class and travelling, etc. I really thought I could get away with the smaller drive. I put a large micro SD card in and keept many of my files in the cloud, but I am still running out of space. I would like to replace the SSD with a larger one, like 120 GB, nothing too huge. Can it be removed from this system easily? What is the size of the drive, the specs, what can I buy to match it? or is it even possible? Thanks

I bought a new Ideapad 500 in January (came with Win 10) and when I try to work without the AC adapter, the battery will only last about an hour and a half before I have to plug it back in.  The second I unplug it, it goes down to 94% battery life.  I have reset everything, closed things and it doesn't make any difference.  I took it back to Best Buy (I have the extended warranty as well) and they said that since it is an internal battery it will need to be sent back to Lenovo for replacement.  I have really enjoyed my new laptop, but this battery problem is very bothersome.  I use my laptop daily and to have it gone for over 2 weeks is troubling.  Any suggestions?

is it possible to run this laptop without the battery pack? my last laptop  had a removable battery but this model appears to be fixed? there are screw fixings but im not sure if these will detach anything, would welcome any information on this.
when the battery is fully charged can the adapter remain plugged in? or should i remove it? i was wondering if there is a cut out for when full charge is reached or it just keeps charging as i use it, this is why removable battery packs were standard a few years ago and the laptop could run off the mains with the charger plugged in, i would rather do this than eventually have to replace a worn battery later on at more cost etc,
thanks for your help in advance

A:ideapad 110 - Battery charging question

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

As you found out, the battery for your model is not removable by the consumer.  A simple solution to your problem if you are using Windows 10, which I'm guessing you have, is to use the Lenovo Settings app.  One of the options of Lenovo Settings is Conservation Mode.  That mode will maintain the battery at a 50 to 60% charge level which will allow you to power the laptop by the adapter without continually charging the battery.  The Lenovo Settings app is available in the Windows 10 Store if you do not have it installed already.  Just search the store on the word Lenovo to easily find it.

Once in Lenovo Settings just click on the battery icon on the left menu.  A new screen will open on the right and in the middle of that screen will be Conservation Mode.  Just enable it.  In the event you need a 100% charge to go portable with the laptop, just disable Conservation Mode.

My battery seems to charge very slowly when connected to AC and when I unplug I lose power in less than 20 minutes and the diagnostic says battery is in "Fair" condition and only charging at 41.38% of its original full charge capacity.  When I called customer service since I am still under warranty, they just said I could send in the laptop for repair which takes about 7 business days or go to a Best Buy for the GeekSquad to repair.  I went to Best Buy, but the Geek Squad said they would have to send it off for 13 days so none of this was helpful as this is my only laptop and I need it daily so to send it off for 7 business days would be difficult.  Are there any other options for repair that reduce the time significantly?  I can't believe Lenovo doesn't offer overnight shipping to expedite the process

A:IdeaPad 300-17ISK - How to remove the battery

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

Page #59 of your model's Hardware Maintenance Manual will explain how to remove the battery.  Here is a link to that manual......

https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_300-14isk_300-15isk_300-17isk_hmm_201510.pd...

Please keep in mind that the amount of dis-assembly required to remove the battery will most likely void any remaining warranty that you have.

Also keep in mind that during peak resource usage some laptops fall back on using the battery for additional power even though they are plugged in.  Removal of the battery may result in a loss of performance or cause the system to shut down.

A:Options to upgrade IdeaPad 700 battery?

Hi Lazy,

Welcome to Lenovo Forums.

As per the datasheet, your laptop comes with 4 Cell 60 WHr. The IdeaPad Y700 (Y700-15ISK) has 5 hours of battery life. This laptop has great battery life by gaming laptop standards. However, do not expect it to last a good portion of the day without having to be plugged in.The laptop is compactible to replace battery if it Lenovo battery from 4 cell to 6 cell.

Let us know how you get on.

I have just bought the above, which advertises "long battery life", however when fully charged it tells me I only have 2hrs 55minutes of charge, then if I have my usual programs turned on (such as Lenova or Cloud etc), it tells me even less.Right now I only have my anti-virus going, and it is 2hrs 42mins, with 89% charge.    This is not what I paid for or whatis advertised.   Am I doing anything wrong here, or do I have a lemon??

Hello, I'm having problems with my battery removal. As my title shows, I have a Lenovo ideapad 100, and I am supposed to be sending it off for repairs. For my issue, I need to take the battery out because it's not part of the problem; however, I can't get it out. I read on here to take the base off, but when trying to do that, it seems that it's breaking the inner clips keeping it attached. I don't want to keep breaking these off just to pay for them to be repaired later on. Is there a simpler way to take this base off?

Experiencing regular low bttery warnings with my Lenovo Ideapad 700 - battery status shows battery charge of 70%, then suddenly low battery warning appears, as well as battery icon changes for low battery icon, basically after a second the warnng disappears, as well as battery indicator shows battery charge of 70% again. This occurs randomly quite regularly. What could cause this? Quite annoying, although not a problem otherwise.

Hey, As of today my Lenovo N585 is having battery charging issues. When I plug in the ac-adapter/charger the battery charging animation in Windows shows progress for almost 15 seconds then it stops. When I boot the laptop with the battery removed it works fine. The battery or Windows is the problem I'm guessing. Anyone else having this prob? Rafael M.

Hughdal,

Thanks for sharing your findings with others - sounds like a good work around solution.

I'm not sure which model IdeaPad you experienced these symptoms on.   Generally, I would recommend checking for battery firmware updates (which may be available for some models) and also checking for later versions of energy management software.

If anyone else is experiencing these same symptoms and found hughdal's solution helpful, could you share which model you have, what OS version and energy manager version installed.

Thanks!

Just got this laptop yesterday.  My old laptop had a removable battery, so I would keep it plugged in and take the battery out to conserve its lifespan.  The battery cannot be removed from this ideapad and I was not able to locate the settings for the battery (still getting used to Chrome OS).  Just want a suggestion on when to charge and when to unplug to prolong the lifespan of the battery as long as possible.  I use it at home so the duration it lasts is not an issue. Should I only charge it when the battery gets low and unplug at 100%? How can I change the settings? Not that knowledgeable on the subject, so thanks in advance for any help.

A:IdeaPad N20P Chromebook Battery Care

The best thing to do is to keep in in the charger and once a month let it discharge till 20%. It's much better to discharge a little bit and charge it again when it hits like 60 to 80%. This is the best way to preserve the battery life.

i have bought Z510 one year back, within this short time i am facing battery problem.Battery is not charging and the system to be keep in plugged condition at every use.I am a home user and use laptop for limited time.I dont understand why lenova has not provided detachable battery which can be change by user only. Now new battery is not available in the market ,moreover Lenova is simply shedding their responsibility by saying Laptop in not under warranty.I request Lenovo to go for root cause analysis of this problem as hundreds of people are facing same problem in this model.Hope Lenovo would provide some software for attending the problem or atleast give the details of service provider from where battery can be repaired/replaced.

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

If battery indicator you are referring to is like the one shown above, this indicator is called the Lenovo Battery Gauge.  That application can be uninstalled in the Start Menu..... Settings...... System.... Apps & Features of Windows 10.

Lenovo recently released a newer version of Battery Gauge which might resolve the issue you are having.  Just uninstall the old version, reboot and install the latest one.  Since Battery Gauge is used in conjunction with the Lenovo Settings App, I would also uninstall Settings when you uninstall Battery Gauge and then install a fresh version of the app along with Battery Gauge after the reboot.

Here is a link to the latest Lenovo Battery Gauge application....

I recently purchased a ideapad 700 for home use. However, when the conservation mode is turned on, i noticed the notebook sometimes charged to 100% by itself without consent. Then I would have to disable the conservation mode, and then re-enable again the function so the battery would deplete its battery to 60%. This is not often happening everyday, but it did happened some often and it is annoying since it is wasting the charge cycle of the battery. Any help?

A:Ideapad Z400, Z500, Z510 battery will not charge -...

Hi CuriousFox ,

Greetings.

To isolate fastest is to have another battery to use or charging the original battery on a known working compatible laptop.
The power checkout guide of the hardware machine manual provides steps to check battery charging integrity (example form Z510 manual page 21) .

You can also try plugging the laptop but not turning it on for 1-2 hours checking if there would be changes with the battery indicator LED.

Would it be the same using similar energy manager and operating system that came originally with the machine?
How is the battery health and battery report?

Update us how it goes.

Regards

I've been using my new Lenovo laptop for weeks now and today it just shut off screen went black everything stopped running suddenly and the battery light was flashing amber I didn't want to panic too quickly so I just plugged in the battery and waited a while before I tried turning my laptop back on When I managed to turn it back on it asked me to wait while it was updating nbsp I quickly googled about the 4 amber battery flashing Ideapad Flex light flashing amber light and found people experiencing battery problems This laptop is still very new so I'm not sure if it would apply to me Anyway it's the first time a laptop computer has suddenly shut off to apparently do updates So I'm wondering if I should look further into this or brush it off since my laptop is now again up and running My laptop is currently still charging but before it shut off I didn't see any notifications about running out of batteries

Just received my new notebook and am extremely happy with it execept for the battery indicator The effective charge reamining fluctuates by a wide margin suddenly jumping from hours remaining - to hours - to hours in a matter of minutes The PC was left in idle state with no processing happening whatsoever at charge it shows hours mts of remaining time as the charge drops to after mins of idle the remaining time changes to hrs mins and at charge after another mins it shows hr mins of remianing time nbsp I called Lenovo service and after one hour of trying this and and that they offered to replace the PC with a comment that battery takes week to settle down and stabilise I find that a bit out of the ordinary nbsp My config is S i GB RAM GB SSD Windows with Lenovo optimiser loaded The battery gauge reset suggested by service is missing in this version - the service staff themselves could not find it nbsp nbsp Is anyone else having similar issues nbsp nbsp

A:Ideapad S510p touch - Battery discharging too fast

hi Bhan168,

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.

To check the battery, can you try and run following:
1. Download and install BatteryCare and post the detailed info on the battery.
   - Sample info

2. Open an elevated Command Prompt (press the Windows key? +X and choose Command Prompt (Admin))
   - on the command prompt box, type powercfg -energy
   - once It generates the energy-report.html file, move this to your desktop and double click it. It will help if you can post a screenshot of the report or upload it (eg. Dropbox) so we can check if there's an app or a driver running on the background that's eating up power and making the battery drain much faster.

I recently bought an IdeaPad N20P, mostly because I wanted a small notebook with a long battery life. Unfortunately, the battery charge only lasts for 2 hours max. I don't see any settings associated with battery life or power savings plans. Can anyone give me any tips on getting more battery life?

My laptop is IdeaPad Z570. Yesterday, I was working on my laptop. It was working fine. It was in charging state. Suddenly, laptop went dead and the LED indicator on the charger that is the orange LED started blinking. Now the laptop is not turning on and whenever I insert the charger into the laptop the LED of the charger starts blinking otherwise it isn't blinking (that is when it is not inserted into the laptop). I have checked the charger with a multimeter and it is fine.  I already tried draining the battery by pressing power button for long time then charging; Removing the battery and then charging etc. Nothing is working. What should I do?

Hi nimish816 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.
Can you again try to unplug the charger and remove the battery , power drian down on the power button again and plug back the ac adapter without any battery . (power check out page 21)
Use the Novo button (one key button item 6 page 2) to turn on instead of the power button .

If same issue ,unplug the charger and remove the harddrive and memory (page 36-38) and try to turn on using both power or novo key. Would the laptop beep ( it should without any memory)

If all steps fail then call in tech support for service to have internal systemboard and dc in board and cable checked.

Update us how it goes.

Regards

I have a lenovo ideapad y510p and everything was fine until for I thought I'd do the battery reset in the lenovo energy management,at first the battery was dead and laptop wouldnt turn on,,I found one way around this which is that first I take the battery out and then insert the ac adapter, the laptop turns on then I put it in hibernate while I insert battery after which it seems to charge but only after I do these steps, but if I take the adapter out and insert it back in,it would stop charging.this is all because of the lenovo energy management software battery reset.I've uninstalled it but it doesnt work.any suggestions?I'm guessing one of the steps after full charge during the battery reset the battery gets drained where it says "plugged in and not charging" until it reaches zero is the problem.

Hi everybody nbsp I recently bought the nbsp Ideapad S IBR at a local store the on September th It is a nice notebook but I just discovered something pretty unpleasing New battery - capacity 14IBR 100S Ideapad Shrank nbsp nbsp With Windows installed nbsp I could do hours of word processing New Ideapad 100S 14IBR - Shrank battery capacity with close to full battery which is pretty neat After installing Linux to my surprise since this OS has bad reputation about battery life I still could get around nbsp hours of word processing just like Windows Very nice nbsp for college usage However Linux Mint gives access to more in-depth informations about battery life that I can't seem to get on Windows nbsp nbsp As you can see my brand new battery nbsp can store nbsp up to mAh full charge according to its desing but I can only store nbsp mAh at full charge which is an indication of wear This discrepancy seems pretty large since I just recently bought it see charge cycles in days of usage but the battery is already at only of its life expecatncy which seems to be a lot of wear for such a small period nbsp I know that these tools aren't the most accurate but the charge full rate has been going down pretty reasonnably normal wearing since I have been monitoring this data nbsp so the measures seem nbsp to be pretty legit and not complete fantasy nbsp It really surprises me since I've been using my laptop very reasonably making sure it didn't heat nbsp and keeping the battery life between and in order to avoid nbsp cells being damaged I've been very conservative nbsp What can I do about Do you know if the customer support would change nbsp my nbsp battery Is installing Linux voiding my warranty anyways my issue is from hardware nature so it shouldn't matter right nbsp Thank you

Hi everyone. I recently purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 2 14 for school and general purposes. In general I really like it, but I have noticed that the battery life is not like the 9h (or was it 6h?) that were advertised. I am getting around 2,5-3,5h of battery life, while I'm doing some light tasks like surfing the web. I should also note that this is with power saving mode on. Have I gotten a bad battery or is this basically what I can expect with this product?  You can see the specs in this link: http://www.prisjakt.nu/produkt.php?e=3019464

I have the same problem. Probably lasts an hour on a full charge. Piece of crap laptop and Lenovo should recall this garbage. I wouldn't recommend any of their products.

Hi,My Y40-70 has been unable to hold a charge and it's restricted me to using it plugged in only. I was hoping someone here would be able to give me the steps I should take to getting this sent in for a replacement. Some extra info:- AFAIK, the warranty is already expired since I bought this August 2014- Battery runs out in approximately 1.5 hours without running any programs and about 0.5 hours browsing on Chrome (after a full charge notification)- I checked sirbuster223's post and he was suggested to posting his machine number so the support could find his parts numbers and I have my machine number ready if it is needed. Please help! At this point, it's become a desk computer instead of a laptop.
