I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,So its difficult for me to pin down the problem here but I know that its not my Wi-Fi as i've had this issue at college and at various homes, cafes. I'll be browsing the internet when suddenly my thinkpad will disconnnect from the internet. Note, usually it will say that it is connected to the router but it isn't getting any connection. I will use another device at the same time that experiences no issues. When using Skype I lose calls frequently. It's dissapointing considering I dropped 1 grand on this laptop only to use my 100 dollar smartphone in many situations. Thoughts?

Hi jreder007 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
To start with I would suggest you try to check on the wifi adapter properties .
On Device manager , choose the wifi card and right click for Properties , Power management to uncheck on Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power .
Advance tab would also show Roaming tendency / aggressiveness that you can move to highest.
See if that would would , else you may proceed with uninstall and reinstallling your WIFI driver downloadable from the support site .

Hi Amy,
1. The memory is also extremely bad on my Yoga 3 Pro - 80HE010EUS - Silver: Web Special -- is this the same as the Yoga tablet you are talking about here? If not, what do I need to download to patch my Yoga 3 Pro - 80HE010EUS - Silver: Web Sp?
2. You mentioned some things to download to fix this memory problem, but where are the links? I don't know where to find these steps you're talking about or where to download this patch. I googled it, but just found some sites that want me to pay to download Lenovo patches.
Thank you & the help is much appreciated!

In the beginning of the year bought laptop in Poland, where i lived at that time. Then i gifted it to my family at Ukraine and moved to Singapore. laptop is still under warranty, but Ukraine support refused repair because it's only Poland warranty. They are right?

Display driver notification keeps showing up notifying me the display driver has stop responding. This happens simply when browsing with Edge and scrolling a web page. I ran windows update and looked for update drivers... the problem keeps coming back often. Very disapointed that this brand new PC running Windows 10 has so many issues out of the box. Lenovo should consider a recall.

I am having some problems with the battery on my Lenovo Ideapad Yoga nbsp I have searched the forum to find a mountain of topics with problems similar but not quite the same nbsp I have also tried a lot of the suggestions to resolve the issue but none have worked so I guess i have to start my own thread nbsp My Lenovo has been working fine well Yoga Ideapad - Lenovo 13 Issues Battery has fine as could be expected with these machines up until last week nbsp Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 - Battery Issues I had been using the machine in work without issue and put it into the car fully charged to take home nbsp When i went to use it again a couple of days ago I plugged in the charger as normal and turned it on only to find it completely dead nbsp The power machine didnt turn on and the power button didnt illuminate nbsp My initial feeling was that i may have accidently turned the machine on while in the car and this had drained the battery nbsp I also thought that perhaps the power supply was faulty so I bought a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 - Battery Issues new one nbsp When i tried the new power supply it was the same result as the original not turning on and no illumination on the power button nbsp nbsp I went back to the original power supply this time there was a fan noise although the machine did not turn on and the battery indicator flashed repeatedly orange which i believe means the battery is below and needs charging nbsp So i left the oringal power supply plugged in overnight to charge nbsp Next morning the battery indicator was still flashing repeatedly orange nbsp Back i went to the new power supply this time I turned on the machine and it started ok however the battery indicator was showing empty and the battery indicator continued to flash orange repeatedly nbsp Thats when i started hunting the forums for an answer nbsp I changed various battery settings on the ideapad which is running windows and downloaded the Lenovo Companion app which when it ran told me the battery was in Good Condition nbsp nbsp nbsp Last night i decided to leave the machine on and let it charge while the machine was running nbsp This morning when i got up the machine had eventually turned itself off but thankfully I thought the battery indicator was a solid white nbsp I tuned on the machine and the indicator beside the clock on the laptop screen showed full and charging so i disconnected power supply to see if it would continue to run which it did nbsp I then plugged power supply back in the indicator on the screen then started to show charging then went to show empty and the flashing orange light on the machine battery indicator started to flash repeatedly orange again nbsp I removed the power supply and immediately the machine died nbsp I plugged in the power supply again turned on the machine and in the windows start screen the battery indicator showed full the indicator beside the clock in windows is showing and chargaing and the battering indicator on the machine is still flashing repeatedly orange nbsp I therefore know that as soon as i post this and then unplug the machine will die nbsp nbsp nbsp I am conviced that the battery iteself is not the issue so i have down a few updates from the support site in the hope that this resolves the issue but i doubt it nbsp Anybodys assistance would be of great help nbsp nbsp

So, i got a Lenovo y50-70 with an i7 2,6 GHZ AND 3,6 GHZ Turbo boost, 8 GB Ram, NVidia 960m 4gb and 1080p. My Problem now is, that whenever i start a game (like CSGO, GTA V, MW2, Trackmania 2 and more) the CPU clocks itself down to 2,6GHZ. I looked at the Power managment options everything is at 100 %, also the NVIDIA and INTEL settings are all on Max Performance. The funny thing is: When im using google chrome or copying some files, it clocks itself on to 3,6GHZ. I also did some virus scans - everything is OK. I tried to leave chrome open and start a game: BOOOM back at 2,6 ghz... i really dont know what to do - I even reinstalled all the intel and nvidia drivers (but we all know windows 10 is doing its own thing ) I grateful when someone could help me

A:Lenovo Y50-70 Performance Issues

Lenovo designed that processor to disable turbo boost when running CPU hungry applications(This can also be temparature limit or power limit throttling)....... If your temparatures are safe u can use the intel XTU utility to tweak the CPU to your needs.....  Link here... CheersKamal

Hi guys, I am opening this post because I think that it could be useful to everyone who would like to solve several issues related to this laptop. I think that it is a really good notebook but it needs a lot of work to have it working in a proper way.So first of all I am posting here a link of a doc in which I am monitoring several issues I encountered and how I solved them. I know that it is not very easy to read it because its style is personal notes-like but I am sharing it anyone...probably someone can find the information it needs.Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 80JH monitoring doc

A:Lenovo Yoga 3 - 1470 (80JH) - General issues to so...

In this second post I am sharing the configuration to use with Notebook Fan Control software (probably some of you already know about this software if you hate the noise which fans of this laptop are able to do!). I added of course some considerations I noticed in preparing this config. Here we are... Yoga 3 1470 80JH using Windows 10 and NBFC 1.4.2.I appreciated a lot the work done by Mr. Cheeze but I found it incomplete, so I basically investigated the issue a bit more.I did not open the notebook but I found online that it is equipped with 2 fans. So, first step was adding the 2nd fan. Then I started to investigate if we can effectively control the fans and the answer is NO, but we can play a bit to force them to have a behavior. My target was only one: REDUCE the FANS NOISE and consequently their speed, because I think that this laptop is almost able to work in fanless mode (and believe me I stress it a lot, especially in terms of multitasking). Before showing my personal code to be used in NBFC I am giving you some information I retrieved by the Read&Write software (32bit version works well).?When Fans starts HEX values show up at position 6 and 254. These are the 2 actual speed values of the fans.?The target values (so where you have to write the desired fans speed) are in position 86 and 176. I am not totally sure if they are the effective position to write but they seem the only position which considerably vary according to the change of fans speed For the sake of precision, I used the fan dust removal tool in the lenovo optimizer app to see how the fans speed changes and I assumed that the maximum speed is equal to the one produced by this tool. I have to mention here other three aspects:1. I have used as maximum the maximum value observed2. Without using NBFC the system never reaches this maximum speed because it is really very noisy. In normal condition the maximum speed is about 2/3 (still noisy for me) of the one reached when dust removal tool is used.3. The speed you have when dust removal is working is not the maximum possible one in reality. In the case you update the BIOS you can "appreciate" a noisy never heard before on the fans (but the PC is in DOS mode, so I could not measured it...for this reason I did not consider it) Ok, now it is time to post the configuration, but before that... KEEP IN MIND:1. I played a bit with the temperatures thresholds and fans speeds to force the fans to work at about the half of their speed (value which I consider acceptable in terms of noise). WE ARE NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THE FANS SPEED because the EC updates continuously the target value where we will write the desired speed. So reducing the EC poll interval at 500 ms, with this configuration I am continuously forcing the target value to stay at the desired one.2. The response time of the fans is not quick, so with this configuration the fans barely start to run (you have to stay at high CPU temp. a lot to notice the fans starting running)3. Play with the fans speeds and temperature thresholds according to your needs!!! E.g. if you want to fans constantly running at a fixed speed insert the speed % you desire even at the lowest CPU temp. ranges and you can notice the fans constantly running.4. I think the system is not able to use the fans at each speeds we want but there are only some fans speeds which can be accepted. Here I am indicating someones in terms of %: 0%?40.3%?45.8%?52.8%?66.7% (you can deduce the decimal value considering that 0% is 0 and 100% is 72....and of course from these you can calculate the hex values). Just to be clear, for me 52.8% starts to be noisy. Ok, now enjoy the code! Lenovo Yoga 3 1470 - Fans Control code for NBFC

Hi, This is my first post, Please let me know if this is correct forum. My Lenovo 11 Yoga recently had an issue with its power jack where the inner rectangular part came loose. I ordered a replacement power jack connector E54926 and was able to remove laptop cover and attach the replacement. Now, when powered - I can see a very faint "LENOVO" logo and nothing afterwards. So, I am unsure where the problem could reside.  I tried increasing the brightness which didn't help. Could you please suggest how to troubleshoot further. Let me know and I can fill additional details. Thanks in advance

Hi,I've been considering buying a new GPU for my SFF M92p.I currently have 1GB 620 GT nvidia GPU & I would like to upgrade to a 2GB GPU.  i7-3770 Cpu 3.4GHzWindows 1016GB DDR3 RAM1T HDPSU - 240 Watt I need professional assistance on : - Can i find 2GB GPU to use on this current system @ 240 ?- If not, would i need to change my PSU ? And where do i buy such a unit ? What's it called ? [It's for gaming]

A:Lenovo ThinkCentre M92p 2988-E2U [Video card upgra...

The GTX 750 Ti could work with a SFF M92p.   Upgrade to the latest BIOS beforehand, CD ISO method is most reliable.   Check that there aren't any taller heatsinks on the motherboard that could interfere with the graphics card (refer to photos of the card.)
Since your system is older, to ensure the necessary airflow, clean the front air intake and fan with vacuum and canned compressed air, jam the fan with a cable tie or similar so it can't spin and over-speed.  Same for CPU fan and heat sink, and vac the intake and rear exhaust of the power supply.

I can confirm that this MSI brand low-profile  GTX 750 Ti 2GB  card works perfectly in my M93p SFF machine without upgrading the PSU:   MSI N750-Ti-2GD5TLP
Measuring the power draw running Prime95 (CPU benchmark) , FurMark (GPU benchmark) , charging mobile phone via USB and copying large files at the same time , it stays below 190W.   Have been running this for several hours. I have also been playing Fallout 4 (FullHD, ultra textures, 60 FPS) for 100 hours without any problems.   As the case is quite compact, I was worried about the temperature but it stays below 80C for the GPU at full power over extended periods of time (about 25C ambient temp in the room).
Installation is ok. Just mount the low profile bracket and move the PCIe 1x WiFi card (if you have one) into another slot.  Preferably leave an empty slot next to the graphics card.

Hey guys, I'm a PreMed student who's life revolves around his laptop. I'm always on social media, watching some show, listening to music, doing an essay, taking notes, updating some website, or emailing some person on campus. Of course, my old laptop broke. It was a Dell Inspiron. Now, I have a campus job and have been saving money(so money is not factor necessarily). After researching my options, I've narrowed my choices down to the three previously listed laptops. I just want to know which do you guys suggest and why?

A:Surface Book vs Lenovo Yoga 900 vs ThinkPad X1 Yoga

By looking at your requirement, you prefer on-the-go PC that lets you do all that on a decent budget, SP4 is better than SB(if you want lightweight device and decent battery life), Lenovo's are pretty good too. X1 w/o OLED seems to be a better buy in terms of ultraportability and battery life. You could wait for others to chime in.

My son accidentally got his leg caught in the cord of his laptop when he got up and the laptop  fell approximately 2 feet to the tile floor.  It boots up but stays on the Lenovo splash screen.  If I go into the BIOS and select System Recovery it goes through the "Loading files..." process, the Lenovo splash screen appears with the dots going in a circle but, then after about 2 minutes of that the screen just goes black.  If I tilt the screen forward or back I can tell it is still backlit just with nothing to display.  Anything we can try?

Hi moonshine1, welcome to the forums.
Can you please share the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga ?
What I recommend is to update the drivers of the machine, specially if you upgraded to Windows 10. That can solve some issues with power and video. There is the System Update utility that can help, but it is also look manually for updated drivers on the support site, because sometimes the utility misses the newer ones.
About the touch screen, there had been some reports of "ghost touches" on the Yoga-3 with LG touchscreen. There is a firmware update for it. But if you have a non LG touch screen and you are having that ghost touches the best way to deal with it will be to open a ticket with Lenovo. If you bought it a month ago it should still be on warranty.
CompUSA is still open somewhere? I didn't know that. I thought it was bought by TigerDirect.

Bought my son a Lenovo yoga 3 on 15/7/2015 from PC World £800, by 5/8/2015 it stopped working. Took it back on 5/8/2015 and PC World exchanged it no problem. After one year and three week the replacement has stopped working. Sent it back to Lenova who are now demanding £250 to repair it saying it needs a new main board and power supply - what after just a year old - clearly not fit for purpose - they accept it has not been damaged through misuse. I am waiting for a manager call back but I am absolutely appalled at the stance being taken by lenova and unless we get it repaired free of charge I will be taking the matter further. Any one else experienced such problems ?

The Touch Screen doesn't work.I have tried all the solutions mentioned on the other post off this problem, but they don't work for me.I don't have the option of the touch screen in the HID interface on the device manager, so i cannot enable it.I've already downloaded all the drives of lenovos site for windows 10 (my OS). It just doesn't seem to work. Can anyone help me to get this problem fixed? Is there any specific driver for HID Touch Screen that i can download? Is there any other way to fix this problem? Thanks for all the help you can give me. Regards Carlos

I recently purchased a Yoga Pro despite serious concerns about the reviews citing such poor performance from Intels new M-core processors I had read at some point in my searching that Intel was supposedly releasing a firmware update that would essentially fix everything I have a suspision that my issues are related to the processor The problem I'm having can best be described as performance drop or fps drops when playing videos in Youtube and on Twitch tv I've tried multipled browsers and updates to flash The browser is the only program running It does not come in waves or anything it is a constant issue on these sites Beta twitch tv however does not have this issue I believe they switched away from flash-based players Netflix also has no issues The issue is not a buffering issue Maximizing the video also makes the problem worse If anyone has any ideas or solutions I would be very much appreciated I love the laptop and would hate to have to return because I can't get a few small parts of it to work nbsp Thank you

A:Yoga 3 Pro Performance issue on streaming video

Hi snickers, and welcome to the Lenovo User Community!
Like you I read the performance reviews, so I've been trying to stretch the Yoga 3 Pro. For video I've watched YouTube, Netflix, and VUDU maximised at full screen. I've watched full-length movies. I just watched a few videos. I have yet to experience any poor performance. My browser is 32-bit Chrome. I'm on a 50-100Mbps Internet connection and either 802.11n or ac.
What are the symptoms you're seeing? When you say fps drop, what are you seeing exaclty? Are you using factory default drivers?

I was experiencing some similar issues after a recent Windows update- Upon startup I would briefly see nearby networks, but as soon as I tried to load my browser, the WiFi would disengage and the Wireless adapter would dissapear from my Device Manager. I uninstalled the most recent Windows update (not recomended, but I was troubleshooting potential software issues), turned off as many start-up programs as possible and also began recieving the Power State Failure error.I would recomend that you update your BIOS and then make sure that you've updated all Network Drivers (there may be a couple).Hopefully that fixes the issue for you. Best of luck!

Hello there ! just a quick message for those who would like to add a SSD HD to their Lenovo Yoga. I read some topics about this upgrade and was afraid if it was not working (because I read that some HD was not working...). FYI, I bought a Samsung SSD 850 EVO and it works perfectly (btw, opening the laptop is easy!). I installed Windows 10 Ent and the speed is awesome. I was not sure of the perf but now I can confirm it's the best upgrade I did on this laptop (increasing the RAM to 8 Go was not sufficient as the hard disk was the bottleneck). HTH Thierry

Hi. I am an owner of Lenove yoga home 500.I have to admit that I disapointed from the first day as concern its performance. Apps stoped working instantly without a reason, onscreen keyboard is not responding sometimes, touch screen also(just for a minute) etc....The reason i enter the forum is because now wireless mouse and keyboard stopped working for a third time during two months. I replaced the batteries but didn't solve the problem. Last time I faced the same issue it recovered after 2 or 3 restarts. It is unacceptable for a machine that cost 1.500euros

I don't even know where to start but Lenovo are very good at making it First - Yoga Pro product!!!!! 3 LAST Lenovo and almost impossible to speak to any kind of human being who can assist with their Yoga 3 Pro - First and LAST Lenovo product!!!!! faulty products so i'm starting here nbsp I bought my Lenovo Yoga Pro in August with a one year warranty however it would seem Lenovo's warranty start date is when they ship it to retailers and not when you actually buy it but this was the least of my worries and one issue that I was able to rectify nbsp Within a couple of weeks 'BOOT DRIVE MISSING FAILED' started popping up nbsp every now and then and I would have to turn the power off and on again and everything would be fine At the start of September this message came up again permanently and dispite numerous attempts at factory resets restores boots etc which were suggested by the Medion crew on the tech support helpline the laptop failed to work At this point I was working abroad and had the added hassle of returning it to the UK to then have it shipped off to Germany for repairs Dispite the fact that the laptop was only a month old Lenovo said they could not replace it only repair it nbsp even though it was clearly a faulty product The retailer I purchased it from also refused to assist laying blame with the manufacturer nbsp The laptop finally made its way back to me in October apparently repaired although you wouldn't know it as there was no information on what work had been done just the laptop in an otherwise empty box Within minutes of turning it on I had the same issue the laptop was basically a very expensive brick again nbsp AGAIN Lenovo said send it back we can't replace it but we will repair it Being abroad still this would have caused more hassle yet again so I instead found a Lenovo warranty shop who replaced the boot drive and a number of other things the laptop was in for repairs between November and January as certain parts had to be shipped it nbsp I had the pleasure of being able to use my laptop between February and the end of March fault free Until Start of April turn laptop on and all it does is continuously cycle through the very first 'Lenovo' logo you can't even get onto the boot menu because it is rebooting itself every - seconds At this point I was back in the UK and had nothing to lose LENOVO still saying their was nothing they could do but keep attempting to repair it I sent it back to them After recieving a nice email asking for money as they believed I had caused some damage to it and part of the repair would therefore not be under warranty nbsp catagorically untrue nbsp - I dont think I was in possession of it long enough I paid them and heard nothing back until today - 'SORRY WE CAN'T FIND THE PARTS WE WILL SEND YOU YOUR MONEY BACK ALONG WITH YOUR BROKEN LAPTOP THANKS' Ok that isn't the actual quote but it was along those lines nbsp This is the first time I bought a Lenovo product and the product and subsequent support and customer service has been atrocious I'm not sure how they can even get away with refusing to replace a product that has been faulty from nearly day one nbsp As I said there isn't even a complaints process to go through so this is what I resorted to I'm writing a similar letter to BBC's watchdog to see if they can assist nbsp Cheers J

So, I have been searching all over the internet for this issue where the Yoga keyboard flashes and then nothing.  I have seen lots of YouTube videos of the problem, lots of forum posts describing it.  Sometimes, someone is able to do some sequence of hitting the reset button and holding the power button for over a minute that gets it up and running again, but the majority of the time, the problem still seems to be unresolved. Has anyone had this fix performed?  How much did it cost and where did you take your machine to have it done.  Mine is just out of warranty (figures!).  Thanks for your help.(Sent from a 12-year old Toshiba laptop that just keeps on running, sitting next to an 18 year old Lenovo that is useless.)

USB 3.0 wasn't supported back then. Doesn't work with Win 7. You have to stick to the 2.0 ports. Return to the original installed OS or Windows 10 for it to work.

You have a Realtek RTL8723AU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter:

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win8/8.1 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later systems - using older drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have the latest Win8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use older drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

Lot's of Windows Updates failures in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report. If the problems continue, please post over in the for further expert assistance with this issue.

Both of the memory dumps point to networking issues, one to the wireless and one to a USB device - so it's most likely an issue with the wireless USB adapter. Please remove the adapter and it's software -then test the system to see if that stops the BSOD's. (connect to the internet with a wire, or with a wireless PCI/PCIe card that plugs into a slot on the motherboard).

Please uninstall the Magic Control program as it's driver dates from 2011 and it may not be compatible w/Win8.1

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

The drivers that are struckout don't have updates available (AFAIK).
DO NOT delete them, just leave them be.

I have an ongoing problem with my Lenovo Yoga 700 14isk. When using Windows 10 edge it heats up and gives a high pitched noise. When using Adobe it gets worse!! for most of the time that the fan is spinning, it makes loud grinding noise as if the blade is off balnace hitting the housing of the fan. Laptop is only few months old. The Bios is 22 with no new update on Lenovo site.

A:Lenovo Yoga 700 Fan heating

Hi MoJo2016 ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Would there also be some noise in the BIOS?
To access BIOS , shut down the pc and use the novo button to turn on (item 3 page 11).
If same noise is head then fans hardware integrity needs to be check and attended to .
Since you have BIOS ver 22 updated , call in tech support for the necessary service for your laptop.
English  9:00 - 18:00 Monday - Friday0333-777-3991 (National Rate)
Seems when additional load triggers fan activity as normal but if noise is apparent when this happens , there may be some cables touching it or simply mispositioned fan.

A:Lenovo Yoga 3 sometimes won't turn on

I routinely have the same issue.  What I have done is hold the power button ON for about 30 seconds. Then try to restart.  It succeeds sometimes, but boy, is this a frustrating problem.

Hey, I am starting my first year in the University next year, and I need a laptop.
Most of my time I am watching Netflix and surfing the web, so I am searching for a hybrid laptop, 2 in 1.
I checked laptops for a while and found 2 that are in my budjet and they are looking good:
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 128 GB Intel i5
Lenovo Yoga 500 500 GB Intel i7
I dont know what to choose, I prefer the surface (because of the pen) but lenovo is cheaper.
Other recomendations are welcome as well.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the help!

Hello, I just got a Yoga 900 and noticed when I put pressure under and above the base there is an audible lcikcing noise around the track pad. Is this  normal behavior? By this i mean my fingers pinch the base beside the track pad and give a clicking noise like the trackpad itself though nothign registers. Thanks

Hello all, I am looking for some help.  I just bought each of my kids a Lenovo Yoga 710 11 inch model.  We just got them turned on and connected to the Internet via our Wifi and they each downloaded Roblox.  When they go to play Roblox the games will not load or they take a good 5 minutes to load or the game will just leave the screen as it is trying to load?  Is this a common problem?  Is this not a good notebook for having a couple of games on?  I only wanted a notebook for them for schoolwork and gaming should I have went with something different?

I just got a brand new Yoga 710 with 7th gen i7 (Yoga 710-14IKB 80V4). I've been using it for a couple of days only and already it has several times frozen to a state where nothing else than pressing power button for a long time helps. The issue can be repeated if I e.g. leave the laptop viewing youtube it will freeze. It varies how it takes but it seems to always happen sooner or later. Is there any other fix to this but refund? I was planning to have this laptop for several years and the start is not very promising. So I'll be pretty easily executing my right to return within 30 days. Thanks for any advice!

Hi, I have a few questions about Laptop Lenovo Yoga 900.The first is that the a laptop with a resolution of 3200x1800 takes more battery than as if he was in 1920x1080?The second question is that I am looking browser that consumes the least energy, from what I read that Edge does best but Opera claims of doing better, so I do not know which is better. The third question is how I set the screen resolution to 1920x1080 then the text on the screen is blurry

A:Lenovo Yoga 900 Few Questions

Hi Hisayuki ,
Welcome to the Community Forums.
Higher resolution is not a significant threat to power as compared to lower resolution on normal usage as full LCD panel is still lit . Higher pixelated displays type needs higher power (HD vs. FHD vs. QHD). In gaming setting higher video setting would requuire more power to be used by the video card . Dimming the brightness would lessen power draw.
About the browsers , features offered by Edge would lead most test and others may claim otherwise but may also depend fairly on the user and the websites visited. Limiting number of open browsers sure would lessen processes therefore less power consumption.
Adjusting to lower resolution manually to what suits your vision can help as other simply use applications to automatically do it .
Hope this help answer your query.

Hi I turned on my Yoga 3 after a long time briefly. It showed battery as discharging and shut down after 5 minutes.  The charger is connected and I've tried various adapters but it is not even showing a charging signal light now. What can I do or get checked?

A:Help! Lenovo Yoga 3 not charging

I had an issue with mine, where the plug end on the charger wasnt making contact so the charger wasn't getting power.
This was on the US one however, so not sure how the plug differs on other models.
You say you were using other adapters. What do you mean by this, as the yoga 3 has extra pins in the charging port that deliver the 20V needed for charging.

Hello out there, we have for our Customers here the new Lenovo Yoga X1. After we have solely Dell, this is a challenge. I need to set all BIOS Settings via powershell in a Tasksequence in SCCM 2012. I found nearly all settings, but one is tricky: How can I change the TPM from Intel PTT to use Discrete TPM only via Powershell? I would appreciate if someone can help me with that. RegardsMatthias

My laptop suddenly stopped charging. I've checked the adapter, it still provides the USB power to charge my mobile phone. I can also charge my phone from the residual charge in the battery. So the remaining possibilities are that the charger isn't producing 20V power, the wire has gone bad or there's a problem within the laptop.  The replacement charger costs a pretty penny and will take time. Is there any way of checking if the wire or the charger block are working or not ? The alternative of taking it to Lenovo sucks, can't work for a while. ThanksRahul

A:Lenovo Yoga Pro 3 1370 not charging

First, is it still under warranty? Many are.   If it is, call support.   Do you know anyone with another machine where you can borrow an adapter?  The Yoga 700 and Yoga 900 use the same sort of plug except they have a max power draw of 65W.  The 700 and 900 don't work right on the Y. 3 pro's 40-w adapter, but your machine is OK with the larger one.  I looked at the adapter and the power cord and  it would be difficult to test the output with a meter, without shorting something out.  I have all sorts of tools and meters, and I takeapart and fix machines, so if it were mine, I would open the machine and pick up the input leads from inside and test with a meter.  If you are not comfortable doing that kind of thing, don't risk making it worse.  DON'T OPEN UP AND WORK ON A MACHINE THAT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY.

Hi, I have a fresh install of Windows 10 Pro (x64) on my X1 Yoga, installed in UEFI mode. I wish to encrypt the drive with Bitlocker with TPM and PIN. Another user on a different thread alluded that this is not possible as the X1 Yoga I have uses a PCIe-NVMe disk, for which there is no hardware support for Bitlocker. Is this correct or am I confused?

A:Lenovo X1 Yoga (20FQ) BitLocker with TPM and PIN

I meant you cannot use the AES hardware engine of the NVMe SSD (if a SED like the OPAL2 option) - but you can use software BitLocker just fine. This means the CPU will have to do the crypto instead for some performance penalty depending on your I/O - see CPU utilisation during a benchmark for example. Also do note that using FDE (full disk encryption) on a SSD is not "great" as the whole disk "looks full" to the SSD - so you may need to over-provision for best performance. You can also use "encrypt only used space" instead. There are pros and cons for each.

onboard microphone not working. tried plugging in an external microphone to no avail. unit is newly bought. this is a very bad experience for me. first it was the micro hdmi, now this. it seems Lenovo produces defective products. i will never ever buy anything Lenovo again! researching the issues i'm having, i've read so many people have the same problem. both micro hdmi and microphone are defective. it's a hardware issue, hence a factory defect right out of the gate.

Hey Guys I'm rather confused about the pen support for the new Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 15. I've read quite a bit about it and find the information quite inconsistent. Some say it does support active pen some say it will in april and some say it doesn't. What I would like to know:A.) What kind of pen technology does the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 15 support atm?B.) Are there any changes in sight? / When? / What changes?C.) Can I write on it while resting my hand on the screen aka has it palm rejection?D.) How good is it for note taking? Can it keep up with my writing speed? Links to videos where I can actually see it being used / tested would be greatly appreciated.

A:Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 15 Active Pen

From what I know there isn't too much information out so far. But here's what I found out. First off, the current Thinkpad Yoga 14 and 15 don't support pen digitizers at all, and will not in the future.Secondly, the Toshiba Encore 2 Write apparently uses the same technology. See this thread. Here's what I know:- It's called Wacom "Active ES" as in Active Electro Static.- It's battery powered. Unlike Wacom's older technology, you need a battery in the pen.- Palm rejection is more of a driver thing and not the technology. So it works, basically.- People say it feels "different", not sure if that means better or worse.- Precision is apparently very good, perhaps even better than the older tech without battery.- Pen lag (speed) doesn't seem to be an issue. Might even be better than the older technology. Other than that I personally couldn't find any information about whatever will be built into the Thinkpad Yoga 14 and 15 Only that they call it "Active Pen" and that it will be out in April. Also that the displays will support something called "anypen" which basically means you can use any pen-shaped metal object to write on the display. But that isn't really of any interest to me because I want pressure sensitivity.
