Aspire E15 574G battery disconnect

Q: Aspire E15 574G battery disconnect

Is there a way to disconnect the battery from my E15 574G without opening the case? I want to keep my battery disconnected when I'm not using my laptop for long periods of time. There is a little hole with a battery icon next to it on the bottom, anyone know what it does?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, The hole marked by is used to reset the internal battery only. Unfortunately there is no solutions to disconnect the battery apart by removing the bottom of the laptop.

I recently bought a laptop thas a built-in battery, and i was wondering how should i take care of the battery? I do alot of gaming and have been keeping it fully charged and plugged in,  while doing so.  So am i damaging my battery by keeping it fully-charged and plugged in? and if so, are there any suggestions to take care of my battery while gaming?

There isn't much you can do with built-in batteries. Hopefully, when it's at 100%, it's not charging.Would help some to unplug and let it discharge once in a while. Don't let it get completely discharged.

Hello, I have an acer aspire v15 v3-574g-70xl. As I use my laptop a lot at home, I would like to use it without battery, just with AC power most of the time, in order to preserve the battery. How would that be possible? The battery is not removable. Thanks.

Best regards,

I just bought a laptop Aspire F15  F5-573G-74R7 .I intend to use essentially connect to a mains power outlet. When I insert a paperclip into the battery reset pinhole and press for four seconds, nothing change, and it seems it is recharging. How really turn off the batteries and to be sure it does it when I'm plugged to the AC power? Thank you, in advance.José

You're supposed to use the reset hole with it unplugged. The reset hole is to remove static buildup from the laptop. It does not permanently disconnect the batteries. The only way to disconnect the battery is to open the laptop case and unplug the battery. If you are going to use it plugged in all the time, just do it and don't worry about the battey.

On the ACER website there is a new BIOS for the Aspire V3-574G:BIOSAcer1. Update N16V-GM vbios to 80.28.8F.00.28.1.354.0 MB2016/01/07DownloadThe N16V-GM is the NVIDIA GeForce 920M, my laptop came with the NVIDIA GeForce 940M 4GB which is GPU Variant: N16S-GT-S.  Is this BIOS update misnamed or incompatable? N16S-GT-S

A:Aspire V3-574G New BIOS v1.35

The reply from Acer on my inquiry about this issue: First, please be guidede that BIOS updating is actually one procedure that we highly do not just recommend owners to do on their own unless they are willing enough to take the risk of having the possible breakdown and harm that BIOS updating can do which is no longer reversible and will totally damage the board. Now as for the BIOS contents if you will notice in the selection portion of our website for drivers support, each models are specified in different variants which carry different hardware package where some has the NVIDIA and the other does not have NVIDIA but regardless of the model under the V3-575 series you select, they all carry the same BIOS versions. The BIOS developer is only stating that the said version already carry the new BIOS version for the unit who uses the Nvidia 920M GPU and if not it will not be of use.

It says I've input some invalid information. Error Code 9001. Someone Please Help.

Hello, According to the Acer specifications, your laptop supports up to 16Gb - DDR3L -1600MHz (2x8Gb) and each slots supports 2,4 or 8Gb maximum. There are several models shipped with 12Gb so no problems. I advise you to check the brand and the part number of the current memory module using HWiNFO portable version (no installation). The orignal ones are Kingston, Hynix or Samsung.

I do alot of gaming, and the fan seems to make noise, while rubbing against something when I: tilt the laptop downard, press under the left side of the laptop too hard with my knee, move the laptop from mid-air to my lap quickly. the sound is miniscule or nonprevalent when non gaming, obviously because the fan is not in much use,as the computer is not that hot.  so is this normal laptop behavior? or should i get it checked out? I asked around and someone said that it might just be touching a wire, and that it isn't a big deal. He said I should just get a usb cooling pad. Will this issue cause my fan to break faster? will it cause over-heating issues? i have never gamed on a laptop nor owned one, so i'm pretty oblivious. thanks fro your help.

A:Aspire-E5-574G fan makes noise

The faster the fan spins, the noisier it will sound. They either have a ball bearing or a sleeve bearing and the bearings can wear out, but they last for years. I wouldn't really think it was hitting or rubbing something in most cases.

A quick search here (http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/Acer/aspire-v3-574g) seems to point to DDR3 1600 RAM for your laptop. There are 2 bays/slots. Now, not every board supports 16gb RAM, almost all of them out there now will do 8GB for sure (2 4GB modules). I suggest you purchase from a retailer that would allow returns just in case your computer doesn't support a pair of 8GB RAM sticks. The RAM in your computer will have a label on it indicating exactly what it is. It will most likely say DDR3-1600 or DDR3L-1600. You'll want to get that exact same type (Matching the number at the end is most important. DDR3 and DDR3L are usually interchangable) as to avoid any incompatibilities. Brands I recommend: Kingston, G.Skill, Corsair, Crucial, PNY. There are a few others out there that are good quality as well but these are the "safe" choices. I'll even hook you up with a Newegg search link: NEWEGG: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3/3L-1600 Laptop (SO-DIMM) Memory Good Luck!

A:how long should I charge my new Aspire E-15 574G f...

If you want that your notebook battery has a great performance, the first thing to be done by the first charge 100% the calibration. Calibration of the battery levels the load of each cell that may eventually uneven plant. Never leave your battery reaches 0% of charge, because this habit, and dramatically decrease battery life of your notebook, subject to the risk of unusable her to leave her without charge for a while. The only exception is when you need to perform calibrations. And day by day, how many hours should I leave carrying? One should not think of the "number of hours", but in "load percentage." You can leave the battery to reach 100% charge usually to keep connected to outlet, it will "pause" the load going to use only the energy source. Identify this behavior through the charge indicator LEDs on your notebook. Remembering: It is recommended that you leave your battery runs with load below 20% or charge it to 100% often. When you charge your battery up to the limit, it will warm up and it is harmful. If you choose to use the notebook without the battery, direct at source, charge the battery to 60% charge and store it in a cool, dry place. But do not get more than 15 days without using it . I have helped

As I stated, my Aspire's keybaord has six non-working keys. The "Left Bracket", "Equals", "Home", "Num Lock", "Up Arrow", and "Left Arrow" keys won't work no matter what I do. All keyboard tests that I've tried don't show any change when I press on these keys. I plan on using this laptop to program Java, so a broken "Left Bracket/Left Curly Brace" key is completely unacceptable. Can anyone here tell me how to fix it, short of buying a completely new keyboard. By the way, this laptop is less than a month old. It has Windows 10 installed, and has barely seen any use at all.

Hi, I'm trying to figure out what type of memory I have so that I can get a 2nd dimm and upgrade it my aspire laptop.  My computer shows that I have 8GB DDR3 L Memory, and I downloaded CPU-Z and it says that i have Kingston part# ACR16D3LS1KNG/8G (PC3-12800, 800mhz, DDR3, 8192MBytes).  However, when running a search on Kingston's site or the web, I can't find that part number and most of the 8gb memory that I find is 1600mhz, not the 800mhz that CPU-Z says my max bandwidth is.  I'm assuming that I can't use two different speeds.  Does anyone know if the memory information displayed is correct for this laptop or how to proceed from here to get a 2nd dimm to upgrade?   Thanks in advance!!

Welcome_Matt,

Good question. I've sent a message to our engineers about this being in the user guide to get a "better" answer for you, but batteries today don't have memories like the older NiCad ones did. You shouldn't have to follow that process to get maximum life from your battery. Here is an article that should help you understand how smart the technology has come regarding battery life.

A friend asked me to look into why his Aspire One (P1VE6, 722-0879) doesn't power up. The transformer is putting out 19v so I assume it's okay. But with the transformer plugged into the netbook there's not a flicker of life after pressing the power button, regardless of whether the battery is installed or absent.  One possibility is that the battery is dead, and a battery must be present for the netbook to power up. Can anyone confirm if a working battery must be present for an Aspire One to power up?  Thanks.

Hi everyone,I have an Aspire E1-571 for three years now. I have done all the Windows Updates, so now I have Windows 10. The first problem is that I cannot seem to find any Acer drivers for Aspire E1-571, the only drivers available are for Windows 8. The main problem is that since the last big Windows 10 update, if I unplug my computer it shuts down. When plugged in and working the battery message says "o% 01 min ti full charge". As I am sure you understand this is highly unpractical. So I was wondering if you could offer me some suggestions, mainly to find out whether it is a system or battery problem, since I have tried all the solutions I found on the Internet but they didn't work. Thanks in advance!Katerina

Hello Everyone here. I have just inherited an Aspire 5315 when i got it i turned it on and it appears to function as it should, i charged it and it seemed to do that ok.  I installed windows  7 on it and all appears to be ok. Now when i go to charge it the charge light comes on and stays on for about 5 minutes ( not sure exact time) then goes out, after a while the light will just blink every 3 or 4 seconds.  If i unplug it at the laptop and  then plug it back in the whole process starts again.  The charge light comes on then after a short time it goes out then blinks every 3 or 4 seconds. If i remove the battery and use the laptop fom the charger it is ok so it points to the battery being the culprit.Any help with this would be great thanks. Cheers Sam

Could be the battery. Could be the charger. Could be both. For about $20 and another $15 in a miscellaneous purchase, you can check them out and buy both new with free shipping from Amazon. Just search for Aspire 5315. 8^) Jack E/NJ  PS: Could be the MB too. But that's a whole nuther thing.

hi there,

I have a Acer Aspire E1 570 laptop that I use for college, the laptop is less then 8 months old. For some reason recently it starting going dead at 40% battery charge remaining. I ran a powercfg -energy from the command prompt and it said that my batterys designed charge is 37000 and last full charge untill the battery read it was fully charged is 36526. If some one would happen to know why this is happening that would be great, as i use the laptop on the battery all the time while i'm at school. I was thinking maybe just refresh the PC from the recovery i made using the provided software with the computer. I'm unsure if that would correct the issue. As well as i haven't found anything on google for this issue on my laptop.

Thanks
RitualJman

I would contact Acer, since the laptop is still within the warranty period. There are programs out there that can "fix" errors like this. Most likely you just have a bad battery pack in your laptop.

I tried resetting the battery but it didn't work. Any ideas how else to fix this?

A:Aspire V 15 Nitro "No battery is detected"

Hi, First you can try to update your BIOS to the latest version if you don't have the latest one. BIOSAcerUpdate KBC to V1.171.148.8 MB2015/03/20Download But I don't expect it would help. If you just purchased the notebook just bring it back because I don't think that it has anything to to with the software side. It could be that the battery is just not connected (just by mistake they forgot to connect the battery connector) or that the battery is defective. Either way I would bring the notebook back. I don't expect that you can turn on your notebook without the charger plugged in and if this is the case it clearly means that the issue is not software related.

Hi - a very odd situation here..... The laptop does not seem to recognise the correct battery status. For example, battery power icon can state: 100% charged yet when adapter cord is removed in order to run on the battery there is almost instant shutdown. On the other hand, having (presumably) charged the battery, if the adapter cord is removed whilst booting to Windows, it runs quite happily on the battery despite the power icon saying "0% remaining". And on the other hand again, it won't cold boot without the adapter cord in. I have tried uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI-compliant Control Method Battery but no luck with that.... Maybe the wrong board to post in but could find no appropriate option for this laptop

Yup, that's it. So the battery is internal, but I'd like to go over a power reset just to make sure.

It will be a bit tricky, but hit the battery pin hole reset with a paperclip or something similiar. You should feel a pretty definitive recession when you push on it. If you can, hold the power button for 10-30 seconds and then try.

If that fails, I'd recommend contacting your local service team as I can't think of any other troubelshooting and I suspect that the battery has failed.

Acer Aspire 5534 battery flat and battery meter at 72% but not charging.

Thanks.

A:Acer Aspire 5534 battery won't charge

First check that the laptop works on mains power by removing the battery and having the a/c adapter plugged in.

if the laptop works on mains power okay, you need a new battery.

I'm getting a message that my laptop is recommending a new battery, however, I can't find anything on the settings etc that tells me what type/size battery to buy - without having to open up the unit first.  Can someone please advise what I need to buy and if any special instructions to change out a battery?

A:My Acer Aspire 5742 is recommending a new battery ...

To help you understand, what type and size of the battery is required for your laptop, you can check it by removing the battery from the back side of the laptop.- To do this, first of all please make sure you turned off the laptop and the power connections.- Now turn the laptop to the back side and pulled the clips to remove battery, which is the only removable part from the outerside.- Now you can check the specification of the battery and find it online on the manufacturers website.- Your battery is of 4400 mAh Capacity, 6-cell.- Ac adapter input is AC 120/230 V (50/60 Hz). Hope this will help you.

I have an Aspire that I thought had an issue with the battery being very old Yet when I replaced the battery with a new one the laptop came on normally but was not charging the battery and eventually it shut off from having drained the battery too low nbsp I removed the Aspire 5516 AC, not won't battery off chargi... power power plug and the battery held the power key for seconds and then plugged the power plug into the laptop Pressing the power button resulted in the blue power light on the front and the ON button coming on for about a second then turning off It seems like it is polling for a signal that is not present and shutting down when it is not found nbsp Putting the battery back in and plugging the external power in gives me a very slow-blinking inconsistant orange light The machine will not turn on Charging the battery for several days like this yields no different results nbsp I have checked the connections to the plug from the outside of the laptop and have made sure there is good contact with both the center pin and the outer conductor nbsp Checking the voltage on the plug I believe I had V Checking the pins that contact the battery the extreme end contacts when the power is attached to the laptop showed V across them The other pins showed V to ground nbsp Online searches mention a fuse that could be the battery's charging problem but my understanding is that the machine should function on power cord alone with the battery removed This is currently not the case nbsp Is the laptop designed to power on and function with no battery if connected to external power nbsp If it is designed to be powered externall only and it is not working what could be the cause nbsp How can it be repaired nbsp What would cause the battery to not charge nbsp Thanks in advance for any help

Hello, how much is duration expectancy before battery must be recharged for this model? I know it depends of what are you working, but my battery is empty after little more than one hour of usual work (internet browsing, no multimedia). I am on balanced power profile and not on full performance. Nothing working in a background. I even installed SSD. This was the case with the first battery when I bought my device five years ago and today I bought new battery with even more capacity and the short time of usage still remains.

A:Acer Aspire 5536 Battery duration

Do you have screen brightness set to 100%? The screen is the biggest drain on the battery.Try calibrating the new battery so it can get a sense of run time.http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11574/~/how-do-i-calibrate-my-battery%3FIf you upgraded to Windows 8, you will have to go through settings to get to Safe mode.Keep it plugged in until you start Safe mode.http://www.digitalcitizen.life/5-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-8-windows-81

Good Morning everyone.

I recentally bought an acer aspire 5000 laptop on craigslist to replace my macbook that was stolen from the coffee shop... looked for another macbook but couldn't find any reasonably priced so decided to give windows 7 a try. it has windows 7 professional installed. 1.8 amd turion 64 processor and 2 gb ram. it needed a battery so i got a new one thru amazon. installed the new battery, charged it until indicator turned green. my question is is 2 2 hours and 10 minutes reasonable battery life or do i need to calibrate the battery monitor? new battery has been installed for almost 2 weeks. my macbook got almost 4 hours on a charge...

A:Battery life on Acer Aspire 5000

That is normal if you are have power settings to high performance on battery. if you have power settings to power saver mode, then it is a little short of life.

I am looking for a replacement battery for my ACER Aspire 3634WLMi laptop and have noticed one available in Australia which is listed as a replacement for the Aspire 3630 and wondered if anyone could advise if this would be a suitable replacement for me.

Part number for the existing battery is:
Sanyo 4UR18650Y-QC219 Rating 14.8v at 2000mAh.

The replacement however is quoted at 11.10V at 6600mAh.

Anyone have any idea if the voltage difference will cause any problems?

Clearly something wrong with the battery on my Acer Aspire 7740 laptop. Preloaded with Windows 7, 64-bit o.s. [would love to get rid of that]. Battery, which is always fully powered, allows only 1 1/2 to 2 hrs use off power. Transformer is functioning, connection to laptop is good. I have a lousy battery, right? This product is under warranty, was purchased about 4 months ago.
Lots of problems. Have attempted to work with Acer support, but the communication is not only difficult, but virtually useless. Most of the time they can't understand the problem.

Hello,

I have an ACER Aspire 3680 laptop. About 1 year ago, I purchased an OEM battery (compatible based on number match) to replace the manufacturer's battery that had stopped charging. I installed the battery, plugged in the AC adapter and turned on the computer. Once fully booted, the battery icon said "Battery not found". The laptop works as long as it's plugged in to the AC adapter, but powers off immediately if the adapter is removed.

I'm not sure if this is a hardware issue or a software issue. My thought is that it might be solved by updating a driver, but it could also be that the hardware that converts the AC to charge the batter is defunct.

I appreciate all suggestions!

It is touch screen. I want to take it out sometimes and just use electricity from the wall so I can prolong the life of the battery.

You don't need to take out the battery as there's a built in mechanism to turn off charging once the battery fully charged, if you insist on removing the battery, you need to take off the back cover and removing the battery similar to the model in the link below. You need to remove the service hatch( for HDD and RAM) first for your model.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHJhiwxsWWMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXNKOkdrEhI

How long does the battery take to charge?
How long does the battery last before having to recharge? (Just say for general purpose)
I just bought one and i forgot to ask. I couldn't find it anywhere in the User manual.

A:Battery For A Acer Aspire 3000 Notebook

i found that the user manual is on the notebook, they must be cheap as they don't seem to print them out these days. Anyway i found that it takes about 3.5 hours to charge if that is right or not and lasts about 3 hours before recharging if that's right.
