Male 4 pin to female 3 pin fan adapter

Q: Male 4 pin to female 3 pin fan adapter

Hey guys. On my raid, I have two 120mm fans that are four pin females. I want to control them on my cooler-masters fan controller. In order to do this, I will need to convert the pins to three pin.

The most cost efficient way is to have the splitter first then the converter. Two cables instead of Three.

The problem I am having is that I cannot for the life of me find a male four pin to a three pin female connector.

Amazon and Ebay has failed me. (only offers 4 pin molex to three pin. Not what I need.)

Where do I find one of these cables?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Male 4 pin to female 3 pin fan adapter

If you are connecting them to a fan controller the fourth pin does not matter so much.

Its a PWM pin that allows your motherboard to control the speed of the fan. Since you will not be using the motherboard headers you will not need it. You can just offset the connector in the socket.

What model is your fan controller?

Where's the best place in Canada to buy a DVI Male to VGA Female Adapter?

I know Canada Computers and The Source have them, but The Source is twice as expensive ($15) as Canada Computers, but Canada Computers is really far away.

Would Staples or Walmart have one?

I am partially computer literate, but not knowledgeable about the deep things of computers.
However, I am trying to keep as up to date with things as I am able. One thing I am trying to get a handle on is USB-C and USB 3.1. I have read there are many bad quality USB-C cables out there, courtesy of Google engineer Leung Benson and others, but have been trying to get hold of a USB 3.1 cable that I could use.
Having misunderstood exactly how the USB-C fits, I bought these cables by PThink:
click here I have no devices with a USB-C socket! I only have micro-USB socket.
So I trawled the net for some kind of adapter, and found only 4 items. I settled on this by Seenda:
From eBay: "Type C USB-C Female to Micro USB Male Adapter Converter Connector For Huawei LG"
Is there anyone out there who can comment on these cables please?

I have a compactflash to IDE adaptor, using it on a nano board for a car PC.. Anyway, I'm building the case, and the adaptor stands a bit too high for the case, therefore, I'd like to convert the adaptor from a female IDE to a male, and use a IDE cable to place it in a better area of the case..

Where can I find one?

A:Female to male IDE adaptor..

DOH!... I got it.. Marked this one solved..

Turns out on my Noritake 311D VFD's (bought off ebay for $16) come with a double sided pin adaptor on the board that's not being used for anything.. Isn't even soldered in.. It will work fine for what I need..

I added a multifunction panel to my Dell Dimension 8100 computer so I had a few ports on the front. Courtesy of my Soundblaster soundcard the firewire port works. But I can't get the USB ports to work. Why? The Dimension 8100 doesn't have USB headers on the mobo.

I do have a USB card installed with one internal USB Female port and (1) 1x4 header. I have been searching everywhere for an adapter to convert the 2x10 header cable coming off the panel to the 1x4 header on the card OR to the USB Female (or is it USB A) port that's also on the card.

Anybody else every run into this? What was your solution. I'm also open to making my own cable if you can recommend a good tutorial AND will consider buying a USB 2.0 card with a 2x10 header on it if you can recommend one.

Thanks for the help.

Building my first computer and I have a couple 2-pin fans I need to plug into the PSU. But my PSU only came with 4-pin females, no 2-pin. I've heard that plugging a 3-pin fan into a 4-pin female connector is bad, is that true and is the same true for 2-pin? If so do I have to go out and buy an adapter for the fans?

Can I add a 3rd monitor to my laptop by getting a 'hdmi male to vga svga female' adapter

I have a HDMI socket on my laptop
I can output to large screens

I came up with a great idea of also outputting to a normal monitor by getting a 'hdmi male to vga svga female' adapter

Is there anything wrong with this? Will it work OK?

I can't see why there should be a problem

I thought 'hdmi male to vga svga female' adapters would be widely available - I can only find a few sellers on eBay
It's only a small price - but didn't want to waste money if it won't work

Thanks

A:Can I add a 3rd monitor to my laptop by getting a 'hdmi male to vga svga female'

HDMI is digital,vga/svga is analog.
A simple converter cable won't work.
You would need a signal converter to
change the signal.

Hi,

In an abstract sense I wonder if a regular usb lead, can be replaced with two bluetooth dongles and a female-to-male usb adapter.

More specifically, I am simply trying to replace the wire I normally use to connect pc with printer.

Why should I need to buy more expensive equipment, such as printer servers, etc etc...

Is it really not possible to buy to simple pair of bluetooth dongles [possigly identical] and use this as a replacement virtual wire?
I would have thought that if the printer can power up its dongle, this should have been possible.

I really wonder why people didnt think of this before:
just to sell dedicated bluetooth dongle pairs, one with a female plug, the other with a male plug, such that the two could be used as a virtual usb wire.

Please excuse my ignorance, and allow for my frustration. This is an honest question.
Many thanks,
Mike.

This is for splitting an XBox360 output to a USB capture card and my T.V.

A:Hello and Female to Female Y Splitter

Doubtful, you could probably rig something up if it were an emergency but these connectors are not designed to be reused. I've spent a lot of time harvesting crap out of old electronics. I'd give this one 50/50. But if you all already have the tools and your looking for a project give it a shot and see what happens. That's half the fun. Otherwise just spend the 5 bucks and get the adapter. You are on the right track though. Keep in mind you will get signal loss every time you split your signal. With one split it will probably be ok but there is a chance your TV and/or the capture device wont look as well as they should even with just one split. It's not just the voltage drop on the cable you have to worry about its also the internal components of the equipment you hook up to. Good luck.

I just built a workstation with a Gigabyte H81-D3. It has 2 USB 3.0 ports on the back panel, but not USB 3.0 header on the motherboard. I'd like to install a Rosewill front panel, which has (amongst other ports) USB 3.0 with, of course, the cable that attaches to the motherboard USB 3.0 header.

I know I can get adapters to convert the 3.0 header cable to 2.0 USB header, but I don't think that would result in USB 3.0 (would it?).

I can also get this adapter that seems like it would work best. I'd have to get a few 12" USB male to femal extensions.

Or, I guess I could get a USB 3.0 hub.

What would be the best working solution for this problem (getting USB 3.0 from back panel to front panel)?

Thanks for any ideas.

A:USB 3.0 A Male to...

From my understanding, you can make USB 3.0 to 2.0 via header. I would not recommend that however because the wiring on the pins may be different .
You should just get a USB 3.0 hub instead.

Hi,

First: is there a software firewall installed? If so, it is probably getting in the way.
Try booting into safemode w/ networking (http://www.pctherapy.ca/blogtherapy/?p=21), and trying the internet connection

Second: Try rebuilding the winsocks:
1. XP (SP1).
a. In command prompt, type: "netsh int ip reset blah.log" [without the quotes], and press Enter. Reboot.
2. Windows XP SP2
a. In command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset catalog" [without the quotes], and press Enter. Reboot.

Post back the outcome.

Hello,

I am using my motherboard's audio card which has a front and rear panel.

The front panel has the basic 3.5 jack female, for headphones and microphone.

I am using the headphone one constantly, attaching and removing about 15-20 times per day.

Due to that (I believe) the connection or something has been broken (not completely) and so I have to find the right spot so that I listen correctly from both sides.

MY POINT.

What should I change n there? the whole panel or can I find just one jack?

If I can change just the jack, what should I search for online?

Thank you!

A:3.5 Jack female

Depends on how the jack is installed and the actual physical jack. Some companies use common jacks so a new one can be soldered in. Others, you have to buy a new front panel I/O assembly.

An option, if you have space in the case, is a separate audio I/O jack panel that fits in either a CD drive space or a smaller space.

But i have got a new set top box for my TV that box only have audio and video composite cables to connect/...
so i was wondering if i could connect it to my PC then i could play and record TV on my PC.by connecting composite cables to my S-video cable's female ports.
give me an idea if i could connect it or not....and why if not?

A:Use of my 4 female pin S-video cable

Very unlikely that you can do that right now. Mainly because its doubtful you have a card that can take video input. Then also, because if your box doesn't have s-video, you can't use that cable.

Traditionally you'd need a TV tuner card, but since you are going from a TV box to a computer, you don't really need the tuner part, you just need something that can handle the input. If you have a desktop PC you can get a PCI card. If you don't, or just want it more portable there are several USB devices that will work. This should get you pointed in the right direction: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicat...y_slc.asp?CatId=1428&name=USB Capture Devices

I have a blue data SATA cable coming off my main board/motherboard. On the non-motherboard end of the cable it the regular data connection that goes to the hard drive. On this particular cable, next to the hard drive female connector is a male tab. The male tab is rectangular in shape with approximate dimensions of 1/4 inch wide by 1/8 inch thick. The tab is slightly longer in length than the hard drive female connector. Where do I plug this connector in? It appears my hard drives do not have a rectangular female hole in the back of the hard drive to receive this 1/4 by 1/8th inch tab. I have not found any pictures of this kind of connector. To make this blue SATA cable work, it would appear I would have to cut of the 1/4 inch by 18th inch plastic male extension.

Your help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your replies.

A:Solved: SATA Data Cable With Rectangular Male Tab??

OK, this cable was designed to go with only on drive, a Seagate. Since I could not use the cable with any other drive, I cut off the rectangular extension. Now I can use the cable with other brands of drives.

My computer was recently infected with sufsidekick, and spysherif. I think i got rid of both of them but i still recived VCClient.exe error messagges aswell as Rundl and other errors. I fixed most of them except VCClient, and an "E2Give" program that won't leave. In the process, i am not sure if i did it or if a spyware did, but my internet connection dissapear. I have a wierless connection useing a Linksys modem, and my computer seems to be unable to detect it. Iv tried going into control panel and all it has is the LAN network, which i think just connects to the second computer in the house. Can someone please help me get rid of VCClient and E2Give, and help me reconnect to the internet?

I bought a new case for an old Megatrends mainboard. The new case has four USB ports on the front of the case. The wires coming out of each of these USB ports terminate in a black, nine pin, female connector. The black connector measures .5 inches wide by about .25 inches thick. My old main board only has two USB ports in the back of the machine. The two USB ports coming out of the back of the machine are mounted directly to the main board.

How can I connect the four ports not being used at the moment on the front of the new case to the ports on the old motherboard in the back of the machine? Is there some kind of connector I can plug into the nine pin female connector in order to chain all the ports together?

Thank you in advance for your reply.

I am desperate. really really desperate, I don't know what to do anymore

I spent a lot of money on a new gaming pc and it has been a complete nightmare from the start. I have wireless network at home so I had to het a usb wifi adapter, the Netgear N300 WiFi USB Mini Adapter.

Its setup cannot complete because it is stuck eternally at "detecting adapter"

I sought online but it's only people reporting the problem and NOBODY giving a solution. pleas pleeeaaaase somebody help.

A:Netgear N300 WiFi USB Mini Adapter stuck detecting adapter

Power down PC...while it off remove USB wifi adapter....power on PC. When PC has finished booting up, search in the uninstall programs list for any software related Netgear and uninstall it. Reboot and start the process again.

According to the system requirements for that device, it does not support windows 10, which may be you issue.

What is the purpose of all those links at the end of your post?

What is listed in Device Manager under Network Adapters?

What, if any, warnings or errors (yellow or red) flags are anywhere in Device Manager?

While trying to connect by both ethernet and Wi-Fi ...

Please attach a screen shot of the Networks page (don't collapse the Radar, Connection or Signal History) of the Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector. If you need help with that see TSG Posting a Screenshot. FWIW to take screen shots with Windows 7 or Vista I prefer to use the built-in Snipping Tool.

Also show ...

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

Type the following command:

IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

Hello

I have my AWUS036H for a few months now and it worked perfect until now.
My landlord has a router in his appartment and I need to connect to that router to get access to the internet.
I bought this adapter for a better signal but this week I got a very weird problem.
My adapter can find all the networks surrounding it except my landlord his network. But my inbuilt adapter can find my landlord's network and all the others. To clarify, here an example:

AUS036H finds:
Neighbour1 (strong signal)
Neighbour2 (strong signal)

Inbuilt adapter finds:
Neighbour1 (weak signal)
Neighbour2 (weak signal)
Landlord's network (weak signal)

What is going on? It drives me nuts!

Thanks in advance

Here is the problem, the AWUS036H can only see b or g signals, it's not 802.11n capable so it can't see N only signals. The Landlord has a router which is set to broadcast the faster setting which is 802.11n only, not mixed with b or g because that would limit the connection speed to 54Mbps.

This means that you can't see his N only signal because the AWUS036H isn't N capable. No doubt the inbuilt adaptor is N capable.

You really need to get one that can pick up b, g and more importantly n which is much faster and usually has more range.

A:Wifi adapter could not bind IP protocol stack to network adapter

Hi Ron, Welcome to Sevenforums.

Try this to start

Control Panel > Administration Tools > Computer Management > Services & Applications > Services.

Scroll down this list to find 'WLAN Auto Config'

Double click on 'WLAN Auto Config' On the general tab, select from the start up type drop down menu, select 'Automatic'. Under Service Status click on 'Start'. Then 'Apply' these settings and exit from all open control panel windows.

This should then allow Windows to set the required bindings.

Hey, I wanted to put some new games on my Laptop, and I got the Direct X 9.0c Compatible Graphics Adapter message. So I went online, and was instructed to go onto Device Manager and I found I had Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, so then I got some kind of update checker and it looked through my hardware and found that my Graphic Adapter needed updating...

I have already put some of the games I want on my laptop before now, and un-installed them when I ran out of space, and now I have more space I want to put them back on.

I tried a link for the Update, but it told me to use Windows Update, but it doesn't seem to work.

Does anyone know a free way of updating Standard VGA Graphics Adapter?

That would be helpful x :grinthumb

problem w/ Microsoft 6to4 adapter (network adapter)

I am frequently being disconnected from the internet.

Microsoft 6to4 adapter (network adapter) has a exclamation mark (!) in a yellow triangle in device manager.

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.

When i check for solutions, it says cannot load driver software.

Hello, this problem has really confuzzled me. I have just bought a new wireless USB adapter, ran it through the setup entered the password etc. Fine. Nicely connects to the router everytime (well ok most the time). But it cant seem to find the internet, which i know is there because my house mate has no problems with it. I've read quite a few complaints about this adapter. Is it worth just returning it and trying a different one? Or does anyone have any ideas?

It finds the submask, ip address, sets a channel automatically. One thing i noticed though is it doesnt create a gateway. (i asume cos i cant find the net). I did have internet before but they were wired. I've since then disabled the normal ethernet adapter and disabled the old connections. So i dont think theres anything conflicting.

Please help?!!
Thank you in advance i really appreciate it.

A:Belkin Wireless adapter - can connect to the adapter, but not the internet!!!

I'm going to guess that the IP address that it finds is 169.254.x.x and the subnet mask is 255.255.0.0, right? It's really NOT connecting to the router, which is why you don't have a Default Gateway or DNS servers.

You don't have to disable the wired interface to connect wirelessly, there's no conflict.

I'd suggest you first disable the encryption and see if it connects. If it does, then you need to make sure you enter matching passwords for the encryption on each end. Note that for WEP you should ONLY use the HEX password, do not use the passcode option.
Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

The name of your ISP and country of residence.
Make/model of the broadband modem. If dial-up, please specify.
Make/model of the router (if any).
Connection type, wired, wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc.)
Make/model of network card or wireless adapter.
Make/model of your computer (motherboard if home-built).
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2.

I m not totally computer-literate when it comes to hardware and such but I am fairly literate with most computer terms So in advance I apologize for any confusion a misused hardware name may cause Also before I begin let me just say that the issues hereafter discussed apply to a computer separate from this one compatability Network Adapter/Wireless Adapter This computer works fine but the one I will be talking about my computer is the one without an internet connection at the moment So recently my network adapter decided to stop working I won t go into the details but it s completely fried and I d much rather spend the money to get a new one instead of go through the hassel of trying to fix my old one And Network Adapter/Wireless Adapter compatability thus we come to question number one Do most if not all network adapter cards work with most PCs I have a Dell Dimension with Windows XP Home edition with highspeed cable internet so would pretty much any network adapter do the job My stepdad who is fairly computer-literate though often too cocky about it says that pretty much all network adapters will work with any computer unless the computer and network adapter are old or new respectively Also what are the most reliable brands of network adapters What kind of details about the product should I look for when purchasing Now on to the second part of my post wireless internet adapter For a while my computer has been a few feet from the router because we had have no way for a cord to reach anywhere else particularly my room Now because of spacing issues in this room I am being forced to relocate my computer My choices are these a Buy a wireless network adapter so I can move my computer to my room or b Have an internet-less computer for an indeterminate amount of time Obviously I prefer the former So my next question is basically the same as the first one but about wireless internet adapters rather than network adapters Do wireless adapters work universaly for computers Again I have a Dell Dimension with highspeed cable internet so I m pretty sure the speed of the wireless adapter is important And again what are the best most reliable brands of wireless adapters What product details should I be looking for I hope I ve provided all of the necessary information I m most likely going to be ordering the aforementioned hardware bits off of NewEgg com or some other similar computer hardware site I don t know if that helps in answering the question s at all but I figured any additional information may help Thanks to all of those who have taken the time to read my questions and I appreciate any response greatly nbsp

I bought a new MEDION AKOYA P5334E and the system arrived installed normally with win7 home edition.

I've installed on the computer the win7 enterprise edition (x64) and many drivers could not be find. I've installed nost of them, except the display adapter.
It's stuck on "standard vga graphic adapter".
I have the AMD Radeon HD7570 card but no matter what I try is not working!!!
tried to uninstall the current driver, tried to download the driver from the AMD website (when executing it - it's running but does nothing).
when executed the auto detect from AMD website, I got the message "we were unable to find your product or OS"

Will be greatful for any help!!!
Thanks a lot!!!

A:display adapter is stuck on standard vga adapter

Welcome to the Sevem Forums, Oraz.

If you still have the DVD of Windows 7 home edition and if it is also 64-bit then you might find the graphics adapter driver there which might get installed. Otherwise try installing Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD7570 in Windows XP SP3 mode.

Another option is to try installing the Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD7570 that you have downloaded in the safe mode. In case the this driver gets loaded in the safe mode then it shall install too.

I just bought a brand new Asus K52F and when the laptop goes into sleep mode the "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter & WiFi Miniport Adapter #2" fail. When i turn the computer back on i have trouble connecting to the internet, and the devices have error (code 43). I can still connect to the internet though. I have re-downloaded the drivers, rolled them back, updated them, everything but it hasn't worked. Any help would be sweet.

Also can anyone tell me what the white light up button next to the power button does??

A:WiFi Miniport Adapter/Adapter #2 Error

The virtual wifi mini port adaptor is used as a virtual wifi device so you can turn your machine into a wireless AP "access point" either with commands or the connectify software. The adaptor sometimes activates itself and causes problems, even when your not using it as an access point.

It should fix the problem if you go into device manager, go to "view" top of page, then choose "show hidden devices" which should allow you to see the mini port, disable the virtual mini port adaptor and that should fix the problem.

That little button next to the power button is a reset button, it's like restarting but a little different.

Hello ausred, and welcome to Windows Vista Forums.

First, can you describe the "problems" you are having with your Ethernet card?

Can you post a screen shot of the Ethernet card entry in your "Device Manager"?

It would look like this:

I've been using my USB adapter for quite awhile now and decided to go back to my laptop's wireless adapter and when i did it refuses to connect to my Internet.

I try diagnostics but it says there is no problems but it would keep verifying if the network diagnostics service is active. However it is functioning but still doesn't find a reason to why my internal adapter isn't connecting to the Internet.

Could it be that my laptop's network adapter is not functioning?

Bear with me as I am a newbie to networking. I got a Netgear WGR614 router and have it hardwired on a Win XP SP2 PC. It is working fine. My other PC is Win98SE and I got a Netgear WG111v2 USB 2.0 adapter for that PC. I had some trouble installing it but finally got it done. My download speed on that PC is about 650K, where my other PC is 1500K. I am using a Broadband modem. What I was wondering is would a Network card make the speed any faster compared to the USB adapter, as my 98SE PC only has 1.1 USB and not 2.0, or is it slower because the PC is just old!...confused...thanks for any insight......Carole

A:Network Card adapter or USB 2.0 adapter?

Well, it's hard to imagine USB being faster than the Ethernet, not to mention that Ethernet is more stable for networking. The slow downloads may just be the machine, the network drivers, or the adapter itself. I only use USB adapters as a temporary measure to test machines.

I have a USB to LAN Adapter and recently it hasn't been working properly, the LED on the adapter would light up, but when i go on IE it either goes straight to "Page Cannot Be Displayed" or takes forever on @Detecting Proxy Settings" is it the PC or is the Adapter Dodgy?

when that happens, go to the Command Prompt (Start > Run > type cmd and press enter) and type ipconfig /all. Note down the information given.

EDIT to make it easier, you can put ipconfig /all > c:\ipconfig.txt and then go to the C: drive and open up ipconfig.txt so you can copy and paste it here more easier.

Can someone tell me the name of the current hard drive interface in my laptop?  It is nothing like a SATA interface.I want to exchange the factory hard drive with a new SATA SSD but know what to call and were to buy an adapter that will allow this connection.

A:SSD Adapter

Hi: Actually the drive in your PC is a sata drive. There is an interface on the drive which looks like it is part of the drive, but it can be removed to expose the typical sata drive connections as pictured below.  What I can't tell you is if a SSD will work in your notebook or not. If you have an Intel processor and chipset and install an Intel SSD it might. I put an Intel 535 120 GB SSD in an old HP nc6400 notebook with the Mobile Intel 945 chipset and it worked just fine. If your notebook has a nvidia chipset and amd processor a SSD may not work at all. I can tell you that if your notebook has a nvidia chipset and amd processor, SSD TRIM support will not be enabled because that controller does not have an advanced host controller interface.

Q: Adapter

Where can I find somthing to convert a harddrive from IDE to Sata 150 Raid. is there an adapter for that? So I can have the big wire go from the HD to the adapter and the small wire go from the adapter to the mobo?

This isn't the best place to post a question like this, but these forums have so much activity and I wanted my question to be answered as soon as possible.

My friend gave me a Y adapter. I want to hook up my PS2 or Gamecube to my TV, which unfortunately only accepts video and one audio composite plug. I don't need a Y adapter, but I'd like to hear both audio channels. I'm thinking he got the wrong type of Y adapter. It's mono-to-mono for taking two composite audios, connecting it to the Y adapter, and plugging it into one composite audio jack in the TV. Was this the right thing, or should it be stereo-to-mono or mono-to-stereo? I only hear sound from one speaker.

A:Y adapter for TV

If the TV only has 1 plug, it's mono.
The Y adapter sounds correct, the limitation is probably within the TV.

Friend gave me computer Pavilion Entertainment PC - Everything complete in box.  However, I can not plug in the adapter.  It will not go completely in but I get power if I hold it tight against computer.  There is a plastic or nylon gromet on computer where you plug it in which I have never seen on a laptop before.  I don't know if this could be what is preventing it from plugging all the way in.  I did not want to pry it out in case it belongs there.  It is a Vista computer but looks perfect and I would like to use it if I can get power to it but I don't want to break it.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  (Note:  I do have other HP computers and none of the other plugs fit it either.  They look right but just won't go all the way in.

A:AC Adapter does not fit right

I have a PCI card that I need to use, but no PCI slot, only PCI-E.

I bought this PCI-E adapter :

http://www.startech.com/item/PEX1PCI1-PCI-Express-to-PCI-Adapter-Card.aspx

but unfortunately with the PCI card, it won't fit in the case (probably a quarter inch more and it would fit).

I was thinking of buying this cable:

http://cgi.ebay.com/PCI-Express-PCI...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item53ddbadeda

inserting the adapter into that, and the PCI card into the adapter. It would then be hanging out the back of the computer, figured I would put it in a box or something, not sure how hot they get.

Seems sort of crazy, but would it work?

Thanks.
