I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all,

I'm facing with this problem today.
I have two updates available from Windows Update:

1) Security Update for Microsoft Office 2007 suites (KB2687311)
2) Update for Microsoft Office suites (KB2596848)

I tried to download them but I got the error code: 8007003 as soon as the downloading start.

I don't have the Office Package but I have the viewer versions installed of them.

I'm assuming that I need to install these updates since the checking process shown them as to be installed.

Any idea?

Thank you

From the looks of it, you have the hack in place to enable WinMail/OE in WIndows 7??

If you undo the hack then that should allow the updates to install.

However, if the hack is not in place - or undoing it doesn't work - then let us know, and we'll deal with the problem.

Please also...
download and save the CheckSUR tool from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
(you'll need to look in the details for Windows 7, downloading from the Microsoft Download Center)

Run it - The tool can take anywhere from 5 mins to a couple of hours to run (or 'Install') depending on how much it has to do, and may exit silently - it may appear to freeze for most of that time, but be patient.
The result is logged in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file - and an archive …\checksur.persist.log file

Then zip the CheckSUR.log and upload it to your reply.

I found this; Rename (or just delete) the SoftwareDistribution folder and see if it helps. You can use the procedure described here: http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5co...id=21&ln=en Note that a side effect of renaming or deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder is that you lose your Windows Update History listing (not critical). (later on, you can just delete the renamed SoftwareDistribution folder) http://www.eggheadcafe.com/forumarchives/w...ost24597399.aspBut can not make it out, and can not see the relationship with the, Microsoft Online Assisted Support ?Anyone who can co-relate this in explanation I will be glad to hear from !

A:Windows Update 80070003 error

Hi, GmaN98 and welcome to sevenforums, I hope you will enjoy your stay!

I don't know what all you have tried but here are some steps you might wanna try doing:

Quote:
The Windows Update Troubleshooter is available that fixes some problems with Windows Update, and it might resolve this error for you.
If that didn't work, try the following steps.

To stop the Windows Update service

You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

Open Administrative Tools by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type administrative tools, and then click Administrative Tools.
Double-click Services. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Name column heading to sort the names in reverse order. Find the Windows Update service, right-click it, and then click Stop.

To delete temporary update files

Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer.
Double-click the local hard disk where Windows is installed (typically, drive C).
Double-click the Windows folder, and then double-click the SoftwareDistribution folder.
Double-click the DataStore folder to open it, and then delete all files in the folder. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Back button. In the SoftwareDistribution folder, double-click the Download folder to open it, delete all files in the folder, and then close the window. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To restart the Windows Update service

You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

Open Administrative Tools by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type administrative tools, and then click Administrative Tools.
Double-click Services. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the Name column heading to sort the names in reverse order. Find the Windows Update service, right-click it, and then click Start.
Close the Services window and the Administrative Tools window.

I hope that these steps will put you in the right direction and solve your problem.

Cheers!

Your computer is infected. Please click on Report and kindly ask to be moved to the Virus & Other Malware Removal forum. Be sure to provide the appropriate reports in that forum after reading THIS. From there, be patient. The malware removal experts are very busy! You should get an answer within the next 48 hours.
Malware will often change Lan settings and configure proxy settings by "tunneling" traffic through a certain port (e.g. Local address: 127.0.0.1 Port: 5555).

Open Internet Explorer. Click Tools > Internet Options > Connections > Lan settings > Proxy server > Advanced > delete proxy server settings > click OK > uncheck all boxes > click OK.
Also, you have 4 antivirus products on that computer, MSE, AVG, Avast and Symantec. You need to keep only one and remove the others.

For Avast, use the Avast Uninstall Utility.

For Symantec/Norton, use the Norton Removal Tool.

For AVG, use the AVG Remover.

Follow This:  Troubleshooting Windows UpdateThe first thing you are required to do is to start Windows Update troubleshooter to find and fix the problems for you. In order to that, follow the steps.Search for Troubleshooting inside your Windows search box. If you are in Windows 7, go to Start menu and search for it inside the box at the bottom of the menu. In Windows 8, follow the same process to open the troubleshooting windows. I can not for the life of me get SP1 to install. It always gives me the 80070002 error.

I've done what the microsoft help says to do which is clear out my updates list after stopping windows update in services then starting them again but it just produces the same error code.

I've run the system update readiness tool as well as a sfc /scannow and heres the CBS zip, a zip containing all the cbspersists(so I get them both uploaded under the limit) and a screenshot of the error.

This is starting to affect my ability to play newer games giving me 3B bluescreen errors and the like.

Thank you so much in advance for any help you can provide me! -Tera

After a reset of my laptop, Windows isn't activating.   I'm getting the error 0xC004C003: The activation server determined the specified product key has been blocked.  I talked to Microsoft support; the first person dircted me to activate Windows by phone (which didn't work), and the second told me to contact the maker of my laptop (HP).  Judging by other forum posts regarding this subject, HP needs to give me a new Windows product key.   Any and all help would be appreciated - I'm hyped for Windows 10 and I don't want that unactivated when I upgrade.

Hello,
I have been having some trouble with Windows update recently. My CheckSUR.log file says I'm missing 146 CSI Payload Files

I've attached both CBS and CheckSUR log files. Thanks for any help offered!

A:Windows update failure - error code 80073712

Here's the summary from your CheckSUR.log file...

Code:
Summary:
Seconds executed: 889
Found 146 errors
CSI Payload File Missing Total count: 146
This tome indicates that something serious interfered at the crucial time of an update install where the files were being relocated after a reboot - especially as SFC appears to find nothing amiss.

I'll post a fix protocol for the above errors later - but I wouldn't hold out too much hope of its being effective.

I think there is no more step left in the course book .. hence no replies... no worries , i am making our friend run a factory image restore on the hard drive. Windows Mail as always gave me some hiccups while exporting the messages as it came up with an error which said that the external HDD where i was saving the file , was running out of space (Genius!!! , the external HDD has 195 GB of free space and the file we were copying is 296 MB ) or the messages are corrupt. I then had to turn off the UAC, copy the actual Windows Mail folder at a differet location on the HDD and change the file attributes and finally it got copied on the external drive manually(Microsoft should have had reasons to release Widnwos 7).... neways i thank all the viewers for passing by the post and pray to God that i resolve the issue as early as possible.

I'm running Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1. I have run the System Update Readiness Tool (May '14). It completes successfully, but I don't know what it actually accomplishes because it doesn't make things better as far as I can tell.

Hi

Are you getting that error for every updates or when installing a specific update ? . Before trying any repair attempts,  uninstall your antivirus software and see if it helps. You can re install it later.

If that didn't solve the issue, please follow the below steps.

1 ) Make sure Date, time and region settings are correct.

Make sure your WIndows 7 is SP1 installed. If not download and run the SP1 offline setup.

2 )If all areOK download 'Windows Repair ALL in One' from  http://www.tweaking.com/content/page/windows_repair_all_in_one.html

3) Install and open the tool. Click next to continue. Go to Step 3 and click on the Do it button to run System File Check.

4 ) Go to Step 4 and click on the Create button under System Restore.

5 ) Go to Start Repairs and click on the Start button.

6 ) If it asks permission to backup registry, allow it to do so. Now you will see the main screen.

Click 'Unselect All' to remove default selection. Now select the following items.

 Register system files
Set Windows services to default start up
 Repair windows Update
 Repair Windows Firewall

Now click the start button and repair will start. It may take sometime to finish. If it asks for permission to restart, allow it to do so. Now check the Windows update.

Hi

I'm using Win 7 x64
I've got a problem with KB2937610 for over a month.
I've tried to install it manually, use MSFixit and install it from clean boot. Neither worked.
Recently I found this forum, so here I am to ask for help.
(I'm sorry if I made any grammar mistakes, my English isn't prefect).

Hello and welcome Cave mate I think personally although fiddly using this tutorial and invoking the ie.cfg removal tool would be far less problematical as long as you choose the correct version for which you have the activation code for.

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 it does also give info on doing it with a stick anyhow.

Gents,

Thanks to all those who take a look at this.

My problem is on Some software programs(only 3 so far and i have installed many succesffully), during the installation phase, i will get error: -1639 Invalid command line argument. Consult the Windows installer SDK for detailed command line help.

The only information i have found(from googling) is that special characters in the Company name may cause this, however i didnt put a company name in during install.

If the above is causing the problem is there a workaround without having to reinstalling windows?

If its not does anyone have any ideas?
im running xp pro with sp2
Thankyou again.

A:Windows 7 Professional Security Update failure (Error Code 80000ffff)

.NET 3.5 is part ofWindows 7 - so we can't use the usual trick of uninstalling/cleaning it out.

There are a mass of what appear to be simple download failures in the update log file - but nothing informative in the CBS.log file
These failures relate to updates as early as KB2862973.

Please run the CheckSUR tool, and post the CheckSUR.log file

Please download and save the CheckSUR tool from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821

Been trying since 9/21 to install these two updates. I have tried the solutions suggested at Microsoft Community to no avail. I was able to install a Win Defender update today, but not these two. Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas to fix the problem? Thanks.

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

While I understand that you "have tried the solutions suggested at Microsoft Community to no avail", I have no way of knowing what suggestions those are, so I fear that I'll be repeating suggestions.

Have you run the automated tool from here:

A:Very Slow Windows 7 Installation with Error Code: 0x80070057

Hello and welcome Lazor PC mate for starters it would be best to remove all the drives except the one you want as the boot drive one - I mean just unplug the data cables (SATA) on the others and then try this tutorial way of installing it is the freshest version of whatever version you have on the machine. Br careful to pick only the version you have already because some smart A's try to go to a higher version and then get grief +++++++ when trying to activate using the original code.

Might I make a suggestion that if your budget can stretch to a SSD then it is by far and a way the way to go.

If you were getting SMART popups then it's quite likely your hard drive is having problems. Run the vendor diagnostic.

A:Error code 0x8007045D during Windows 7 Professional x64 Installation

Hi,

You covered a lot, so the only thing I can think of is to take the CD/DVD drive out of the equation (although I note you did install a Linux distro using that, in addition to PW).

Download the appropriate Windows 7 ISO here, then use this tool to write it to a 4GB USB flash drive, which also makes it bootable. Insert the drive into a USB2.0 port, and then boot from that and try the installation.

The error is usually an I/O error....although I don't know why you should be able to install a Linux distro and not Windows. Did you install all the motherboard drivers prior to attempting to install Windows 7?

Regards,
Golden

Hi ubtchanova Let's see if we can get the upgrade to install on your system. Follow the instructions below please.System File Checker (SFC)Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply; On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select Run as AdministratorOn Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin); On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);Enter the command below and press on Enter;sfc /scannowNote: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Entercopy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't contains the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

Following the Windows Update Posting Instructions I have met a difficulty in that I see the maximum zip file upload is limited to 8MB. My CBS.zip file is 27.2MB and I would appreciate advice of any steps I should take before proceeding further.

I have installed the System Update Readiness Tool and the installation of KB976932 fails with the display of error code: 8024200D.

So here's the lowdown My PC used to run Windows Ultimate but it wasn't Genuine To prevent any potential future problems with Windows from Windows Ultimate not being Genuine I reverted back to Windows Home Premium which I had my product key laying around for I did a clean install to make things feel fresh I backed up all my personal files and stuff to a second partition I made on my TB HDD After the clean install I downloaded every update available from Windows Update including the Microsoft updates I didn't install any programs or drivers yet except for my Ethernet driver as well as any found by Windows Update so I could download the Windows Updates and Activate Windows Home Premium so it's Genuine I figured having a more bare-bones Logo, C1900101-20017 Windows at Error Code Blue Installation Hangs OS would cause less compatibility issues with the Windows upgrade Then I Installation Hangs at Blue Windows Logo, Error Code C1900101-20017 reserved the Windows upgrade in the Get Windows app After that I tried nearly every trick in the book to upgrade to Windows because I didn't want to wait Installation Hangs at Blue Windows Logo, Error Code C1900101-20017 really The first thing I did was download the Media Creation Tool and used the quot upgrade this PC now quot option Everything went without a hitch but then after the first reboot the installation hung at a black screen with a light blue Windows logo I figured I just had to wait even though I saw no light for my hard disk activity so I dozed off When I woke up about hours later nothing happened I tried testing my luck with another upgrade option instead I used the Media Creation Tool to download the installation files to my GB USB stick which I formatted to FAT and made sure was empty Running it from within Windows everything went without a hitch again until the first boot where I was stuck at the same screen again In addition I tried to see if I could boot from the USB stick and I could but once again I was stuck at the blue windows logo I then tried the convoluted quot force Windows upgrade via Windows Update quot route I went into the registry and navigated to the OSUpgrade key and made a DWORD -bit value named AllowOSUpgrade set to the value of The upgrade appeared in Windows Update and once again everything went without a hitch until the first reboot where I was stuck at the same blue windows logo screen yet again All times I had to force my PC to turn off The times using the Media Creation Tool I was presented with a window that said quot Installation failed during SAFE OS phase with an error during BOOT operation quot upon logging back into Windows The time I tried the Windows Update method I opened up Windows Update in the control panel after logging in and was presented with quot Failed to install Windows quot and the error code in the title which matches the error code I got with the Media Creation Tool attempts I would try the method of burning the ISO downloaded via the Media Creation Tool to a bootable disc but the problem is I don't have a big enough disc to burn the installation files to This is the exact screen I am stuck with that does literally nothing every single time I don't know what the problem is because I know for a fact my PC meets the requirements of Windows The clock speed requirement is GHz while mine is GHz The RAM requirement is GB for -bit OS which I'm running while the RAM amount I have is GB The hard disk space requirement is GB for -bit OS while the amount I have is currently GB I am also very certain that my graphics card qualifies as Windows Experience Index rated it a As for resolution the requirement is x whereas I'm using x So PC specs should have nothing to do with it Additionally each time I used one of the methods for the Windows upgrade I deleted both the Windows BT and Windows WS folders along with every single thing in C Windows SoftwareDistribution Download as many sources claim should be done before performing the upgrade So those ... I just bought a new PC (Intel i7-2600) with windows 7 installed.
I did windows upgrades.
All upgrades went OK.

The latest upgrade was to SP1
--- a very large one.
--- downloading OK
--- preparing install OK
--- configuring install Ok
--- install: after 10% the install fails, windows 7 is turned back to original status.

The messages are:

ERROR_PATH_NOT_FOUND

All steps of:
Windows Update error 80070003

are done without any success.

PC Medion/P5303D/i7-2600/6GB/1,6TB/GTX460
windows 7 Home Premium x64

Also downloading of full upgrade and installation of full SP1 from Microsoft website does not provide solution. This is manual procedure, not windows update.

Any way to solve this issue/problem.

Thanks in advance.

The installation is counterfeit.
The Product Key is from an ACER computer - and the apparent SLIC table in the BIOS has been simulated by a hacker's Activation exploit in an attempt to circumvent activation and validation requirements.

You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key.

I'm trying to install a PC with Windows 7 threw USB (2.0). Therefore I've used Windows USB/DVD Tool.
To note, I've installed a NEW hard drive, the old one broke down due to it's age.

Now I'm getting the next message: DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK.

I've tried setting the boot sequence but none of that helped, I keep getting the same message.

Thanks in advance,

Momkay

A:Windows 7 Installation error DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK

Normally means that the hard drive is not detected. Check its connections, plugged securely into SATA1 port with no others attached, data and power cable securely attached.

Then enter BIOS setup by tapping the key given for that on the first screen. Is the hard drive registering anywhere there? It often will be represented by its Serial Number.

Reset BIOS to defaults, set SATA controller to AHCI, Save settings and Exit.

I am getting this error code 5D0030009

device initilization failure unable to to access USB

I am running Windows XP on a Dell E521 PC with two gigs of RAM

I cannot get my PC to recognize and install CH products flight sim yoke or CH rudder pedals pro into Microsoft Flight Simulator X

My radio control flight sims won't recognize the flight controller USB devices either
I have no yellow question marks or exclamatin points in device manager

I have one device that is "unknown" shown under game controllers in device manager

Is there an easy fix?
Will a registry cleaner and repair program fix this and if so, which is the best?

Thanks!

I'm running a Windows XP Pro system, 2gb good RAM, AMD Athlon 64 3500+, nVidia GeForce 9800 GT. I attempted to install a copy of Oblivion (which I have had and used many times in the past). The disk is in very good condition, and can be used on another machine. I have tried it on multiple drives for this one PC, but now, it will not complete the loading of the InstallShield Wizard. It gives me this error:

First post, thanks in advance for any help.

Problem:

IE 10 update fails to install.

What I've done so far:

Updated all drivers for everything under device manager
Windows fixit program to no avail
Ran selective startup thru msconfig and attempted install to no avail
Installed SURT
Ran sfc /scannow

CBS.zip file attached, I think that's everything from the post instructions.

Thanks again!

But I guess that isn't an option for you so is it just an update for the IE10 or the IE10 itself?

Hi,

I keep getting disk boot failure error code Boihd-4. I think it happened because I accidently pressed a wrong button. Formatting the hard drive. I hit continue instead of back. Now the computer keeps asking me to put the system disk in. I keep going back to the page were I made the mistake of pushing the wrong button. before all that happened my computer turned it self off an started looping. Is there anyway to fix this without reformatting my computer. (with Windows Vista 32bit Are there programs that will allow me to download all my files that have.(movies video audio etc.) I have another computer with windows 7.

Hi
i can't update IE on several machines (some desktop pc's, some notebooks. different images, but all Win7SP1, 64bit) the IE 10 or IE 11 from IE 9.
we dont have internet on our production LAN, so i want to update via internal WSUS..like other pc's and notebooks in our LAN worked with success.
then i tried with offline installer...also both...IE 10 and IE 11, same failure.
i tried many things:
- uninstall products via FORFILES /P Command and install IE afterwards
- uninstall preReq Updates and install again
- install via Online-Update (Internet)
all done with real PC or a virtuell PC-Image, so i could try the things from begin on new checkpoint.
Done with Local Administrator and Domain-Administrator
i dont know what to do anymore.....
Last thing i tried: reboot - Run KB947821 - reboot - run again, took about 2 hours - reboot - try to run IE install with WSUS

Thanks for help

Recently, my computer got infected with a virus, so I booted in safe mode, ran Malywarebytes to get ride of it. I repeatably went into safe mode, scan, log into windows to see of the virus was still there

When it seemed that I finally got ride of the virus in safe mode, I rebooted and received this error message

***STOP 0x0000007B (0XB84C7524, 0x000000E, 0X00000000)

I know 0x0000007B means a boot issue, but I have no idea what those numbers afterwards are.

If someone could point me in the right direction of what this error message means, since I don't want to guess and check, I would be grateful.

That should help you out a little. Honestly if you just removed a virus I'd say a system critical file may have been altered or deleted. Try using your OS CD to run a repair install, GL.

A:Hard Drive Failure and an error 100a code

Hi gw122, welcome to the board.

Sounds like either bad SATA cable, bad connection or port. Have you try a different post? Also, replace SATA cable. Other possibility is your PSU went unstable which causing mb damage. PSUs in all big computer manufacturers are questionable in quality. So HP may be right about the mb is being bad.

Hope this helps.

Hi I presented this Windows Update problem error code to the forum about months ago and at that W7 failure error code Update 80070643 loop, time I decided to reinstall W as it was the least complex option The problem I have is a Windows Update failure loop which leads to the failure of all subsequent Windows Updates and also disables System Restore and W7 Update failure loop, error code 80070643 the update failure always starts with the NET Framework update When this problem started it occurred every months so I had no major issues reinstalling W7 Update failure loop, error code 80070643 just to correct it Now it is occurring every months making re-installation unsustainable My question is this Microsoft kb states that an MSI fix Microsoft Fixit should be used first to try to resolve the issue When I tried to run it I got the message Windows Installer this action is only valid for products that are currently installed Visiting Microsoft Help for more info about the Fixit there was this System Tip - This article applies to a different version of Windows than the one you are using Content in this article may not be relevant to you Visit the Windows Solutions Center Even though there is an MSI DLL file in W system does that mean I do not need this Fixit at all If so I can then go ahead and try the uninstall reinstall the NET Framework secure in the knowledge that I did not miss one important step i e the MSI Fixit Thanks

A:W7 Update failure loop, error code 80070643

The type of error message you got often means that you've downloaded the wrong bitness of installer - however, I do mot think that's the case here (as far as I know, there is only one Fixit50123 file)
What I suspect is that there is a failure in dll registration somewhere - and you need to fix that before attempting anything else.
Are you seeing any other symptoms, besides Windows Updates problems?
try this KB article - How do I reset Windows Update components? use the fixit from that and see if it helps (or gives the same message!)

Hello.

I'm running Windows 2000 on my p.c. (using the laptop now) and am getting "inaccessible boot device error number 4096".

I can get as far as the safe mode options but am taken straight back to the blue screen.

The message also says that if this is the first time this error has occurred, to use CHKDSK /F as file \i386\biosinfo.could not be loaded.

There are two hard drives in the computer and I presume it's the old one,
containing the operating system, that's failed.

Using AVG Antivirus and Zone Alarm.

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

I have researched solutions to this, and everyone says the same thing: to remove the previous version of AVG. We don't HAVE any previous versions of AVG on our laptop. We had Avast, and we removed it. So now what??

A:AVG installation error code 0xC0070643

EDIT:I'm assuming you are trying to install AVG instead of Avast. If you are NOT trying to install AVG and this error is popping up out of the blue then see the following post (#2 from Johnw) instead. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The usual cause for AV uninstall issues is not first shutting down real-time monitoring.I wonder if it is Avast remnants that are actually causing the problem - mis-reported. Try the Avast removal tool here (it removes all traces):http://www.avast.com/en-gb/uninstal...I'm curious as to why you are making this change. Mostly Avast is given better vibes than AVG.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanksmessage edited by Derek

A:How to fix driver installation, error code 28

Just keep in mind that in the case where a PC has been positively infected by malware that the system can be messed up so badly, often due to the cleanup, that a clean install is the only viable option.
Of course we all want to avoid the clean install due to the sheer size of the project (installing and configuring Windows is the easy part) so it makes sense to try some possible fixes, but at some point you have to realize the time spent trying to patch up a system could exceed the time needed for the clean install.
Set a time budget. When you exceed the budget it is time to bite the bullet.

You might start by trying a Repair Installation:
Repair Install

Or you could start by uninstalling any programs related to the problem devices, then uninstalling the problem devices, and then scanning the Windows registry and deleting any and all keys that contain the device name. Then finding and deleting any folders related to the device. You could do the devices all at once, or one at a time.
Reboot, then run CCleaner's registry cleaner to find any stragglers you missed.
Then reboot and start installing the devices again (clean).
This is an advanced method, only for folks who are experienced working with the registry. You can really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing.
If these do not work you may be stuck with the solution that cannot be named.

Hello, I just formatted my pc and installed with Win7. Then I tried to install a game i previously played on WinXP (name of the game is Sudden attack). However, it shows me "Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package".

anyone knows how to solve this?

A:Installation error code 1335

Hello!

Well, the error message is telling you what could be the problem.
I don't believe that you are installing this game from network,
so I am assuming that you are installing from CD-ROM.
Now, CD-ROM might bad and cannot read CD properly and that is why this could be problem with the package.
Maybe CD is bad and CD-ROM cannot read the content on the CD properly.

Try to install the game on some other PC.
If you successfully install this game, than problem is most likely with the CD-ROM.
If you cannot install on the other PC, the problem is most likely with the CD being bad.

Keep us posted...

PamHello teddy249100, This message appears to be a warning that the hard drive is failing. I would backup my data as soon as possible. You should also have a set of HP Recovery Restore disk, since if the hard drive fails, you would need these Recovery disk set to reinsatll the operating system and all your software that came with the HP system. Here  is a link that has some information on this issue.

If you've already activated 10 on the system, you can reinstall it at any time.  You'll need the same version (10 or 10 Pro) you had - you can get the ISO from Microsoft and put it on a flash drive to do the installation.  Once 10 is activated, you have a digital entitlement on the system that allows reinstallation.
It is better to remove the faulty drive from the system and reconnect it once you have WIndows reloaded - to try and copy the data.

I don't know what is happening how this problem come into my laptop and what i will do as i am having very important data store in it.

Please help me in fixing the problem or either let me know the way how i can recover my data atleast.

A:Error code 2000-0146 internal hdd read failure

Your hard drive has died, I hope you made backups.
If the machine is still under warranty Dell will send a replacement.
You may be able to hook up the drive as a slave in another machine and access the data but it can be hit and miss, there is third party software that can locate data from failed drives but it does depend on how bad the drive is.
The only other way is to send the drive to a lab that specialises in data recovery, but it can be expensive

I have a HP6530b which goes into sleep mode regular and at that point blue screens saying with" Error Code 0x09F DRIVER STATE POWER FAILURE"

Latest Mini Dump file attached

Thankyou

A:Error code 0x09F driver state power failure

Your error is 0x0000009F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
A driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. Typically occurs during events that involve power state transitions, such as shutting down, or moving into or out of standby or hibernate mode.

The specific driver cited as the cause of your issues is accelerometer.sys and it belongs to Hewlet-Pacard software.

Here is a link to a more descriptive explanation: http://www.runscanner.net/lib/Accelerometer.sys.html

Hi,

I write this still traumatized by a battle with viruses which was finally resolved yesterday. (Closed Hijack This Forum Post here: http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...galgar-dy.html)

After doing a Repair Install, I installed Windows Updates, (successfully after MANY failed attempts), and tried to install IE7. Installation failed multiple times.

Now, IE6 gives me this message:

"Windows cannot find '(null)'. Make sure you typed the name correctly then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

I can open pages from sites and links INSIDE the browser window, (below the address bar, etc), but any clicking on buttons from the tool and navigation bars give me the pop-up with this error message, and another blank IE6 window.

thanks in advance for looking at my issue!

Welcome sebas215 to Sevenforums.........

You are trying to update to windows 7 from Windows vista Home premium..

First of all you cant update Windows vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate..
You can update Windows vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate..
You must have vista Sp2 installed in order to update.
Not to mention HDD space and all.......

Hello,

I've just installed Windows 8 (from usb) on my brand new HP laptop and everything worked fine. But I didn't partition hard drive as I wanted, so I decided to install it again.

During the 2nd installation, the keyboard wasn't working (don't know why). So, when I was supposed to make partitions again, I deleted every partition and tried to make new ones, but I couldn't 'cause of the keyboard. So I just exited from the installation and turned off the computer.

Then I tried to boot the system from usb again, but all I could see was a blue screen with a message that my computer is damaged and needs to be repaired. There was also an error code 0xc0000034. And now everytime I turn it on, there's only the blue screen with no other options.

Any suggestions what to do?
Thank you in advance.
