I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi, Creating a tile is not the Problem... The tile should Show updates like New Mails.

Regards Stefan

Only Windows 8 apps using WinRT can have live tiles.
Outlook 2013 isn't a WinRT apps. You should use the Mail apps (that can use any Exchange server) instead.

I have Outlook 2016 installed as part of Office on my Windows 10 computer and would like to import the 2016 contacts and calendar to the Windows 10 Mail app. I have searched to web for instructions for doing so but have not found an answer. I intend to use the Mail app on a W10 machine without Office installed.

Can this be done and how do I go about doing it?

Is there a procedure for syncing the calendar app in Win 10 with the Outlook 2013 calendar? I have been trying to sync my calendar in Outlook 2013 with my Blackberry Z30 in Blackberry Blend and Blackberry Link. So far I can only sync Windows 10 contacts with my BB Z30. Selecting the Calendar app isn't an option -- see the attachment. The Blackberry help and support sites are neither helpful nor supportive.

Not really. RIM software is hard to do. Try setting up the email settings with calendat on the phone. I know that howardforums.com is the best cellular forum that may still have their RIM forum up.

I use Sunrise with Chrome, so that I can sync my iCloud Calendar.

I have a desktop Pc and a laptop Pc with Office 2013. I want to export the contacts fra from the desktop to the laptop and when I export to a csv file on the desktop the e-mail adresses is missing in the file. They are not in the csv file. When I import it on the laptop names, phonenumbers, adresses etc. is ok but no e-mail adresses.

I think it is strange and I have not experienced it with Outlook 2010??

Peter

I imported the backup.pst and it did the trick.

A:Export Contacts from Outlook 2013 to Outlook 2013 on another Pc?

when exporting as a csv file you have to map custom fields first and take the email 1 address and move it into the other side for the addresses to get in there (from left to right) or the email addresses will not go correctly into the computer you want to do it to. If you back it up with *.pst then everything goes in much easiwer

Re: Outlook 2003
Is there is a way to designate a Shared Outlook Calendar (that is used as our company-wide calendar) as an individual's default calendar. We are set up with a Microsoft XP Exchange Server.
The goal is to have the company-wide calendar download to a Blackberry Curve as the user's default calendar. Right now he sees his own calendar which he does not need. We have the Blackberry Desktop Manager installed on his network computer.
Thank you.

A:Can a shared Outlook '03 calendar be designated as one's default calendar?

As an addendum, it would be preferable that the Outlook/Blackberry user not be able to modify the office-wide Shared Calendar (should there be a way for him to see it) so that all changes still go through our calendar maven. Thank you.

I'm currently using WLM as my email client with my ISP's email account and not signing in to my MSN account.

I can import contacts and the like but their birthdays don't appear in the Calendar unless I sign into MSN and then only the contacts' birthdays' that I have in MSN appear in the Calendar.

So if I don't want to use my MSN account with WLM then I have to create the Birthday calendar manually...

This is my gripe with WLM, it "encourages" the end user to use a Live mail account or all the features in WLM don't work.

If I'm wrong about this could someone explain how to get non MSN contacts birthdays to appear in WLM calendar.

Thanks

After last update all 4 apps from this package stopped working. I click on the tile, splash screen appears, and at the moment the loading animation should show itself, app returns to metro UI. It's still in background but when I try to restore it cycle begins again (splash screen -> metro). I've tried reinstalling app, clearing cache, even changing drivers. What can be the problem?

Hello,

I purchased a Lumia 900 last Spring, and synced with Outlook 2007. At that time I was running Windows 7. I recently upgraded to Windows 8, and my contacts and tasks disappeared, though my calendar was still intact. My contacts still reside on WindowsLive (though I have not been able to find my tasks/reminders). However, when I save the contacts on WindowsLive, and try to import as into Outlook as a .csv (DOS) file, as per the instructions provided, I receive a "Translation Error" message stating that Outlook was unable to initialize a translator to build a field map (I would include a copy of the entire message if I could figure out how to do so in Windows 8).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

I'm trying to help a friend who has just installed Office on her computer Windows Outlook to 10 Calendar 2016? I can't find any information on how to do that I've also looked for some kind of Export function in the Mail and Calendar for Windows app but I came up empty How do I get her calendar into Outlook I can't be the only one who finds Microsoft awful at documenting this kind of basic functionality Millions of people must have tried to do the same thing before me but if there's any information out there on how to do this it has eluded me so far

A:Export calendar from Mail and Calendar for Windows 10 to Outlook 2016?

You can manually export calendars from Outlook.com using a round-a-bout method I posted at this link. However, I don't think that's going to help you because what you really want to do is set up Outlook 2016 so that her email, calendar and contacts sync with (and stay in sync with) her Outlook.com account.

Therefore, instead of setting email up as a POP account and then importing calendar, contacts, etc. separately, why not just setup Outlook 2016 to work with her Outlook.com account? I haven't done it with Outlook 2016, only older Outlook versions that used Hotmail Connector, however the following instructions for Outlook 2016 seem fairly straight forward.

https://support.office.com/en-us/art...7-76d60b148b23
If she has two-factor authentication switched on for her Outlook.com account, then you may need to generate an app password from her Outlook.com account, and use that as the password instead of the actual Microsoft Account password.

Hello,

I have a standard free Yahoo Mail account with several personal folders and also use the Yahoo calendar.

I would like to move from Yahoo to my gmail account for both my emails as well as my calendar. I recently came across this neat CRM type software called Gist, and that doesn't work with Yahoo Mail.

What's the best way of doing this? I'd like to:
1. Copy my personal folders structure in Yahoo Mail to gmail, so that I have exactly the same personal folders in gmail as I did in yahoo
2. Copy the contents of my personal folders in Yahoo Mail to the respective personal folders in gmail.
3. Copy the entries/events in my Yahoo Calendar to Google Calendar
4. Copy contacts from yahoo email to gmail.

Thanks.

A:Moving from Yahoo to Google >>>mail, calendar, contacts

Try this if you haven't already done so.

Sign in to gmail.

Access Settings by clicking the gear symbol on the upper right-hand corner of the page next to your name.

Choose Accounts and Import/Import mail and contacts.

What I did not see was a way to import your calender.

If you use Internet Explorer and the page is wonky disable Compatibility View.

Hello

We want to allow users to schedule a leave request using out Outlook leave request calendar.
Is there a way for other users to see the requester’s name but not the details of the request?
Actually we want the requester’s manager to see the details but not the co-workers.

Thanks.

A:Outlook 2013 Calendar Requests

Probably Not a viable plan. Outlook as I understand, doesn't provide the security granularity you need to pull off the 'see names but not detail' requirement. And the approval/denial process would be another dilemma. This can be done in SharePoint using workflows. A quick Google shows 3rd party apps for outlook that might do this.

Good old paper with a managers signature is hard to beat. A leave calendar in outlook maintained by an administrative assistant is a helpful tool.

I am so confused about where outlook 2013 keeps things.

I have installed Outlook 2013 and would like to import my contacts from my outlook 2007 in another computer. I have already prepared the contacts.pst file from outlook 2007 and made it available in my public folders. I then imported the .pst file into Outlook 2013 via network. However the contacts shows up as a separate contact list rather than integrated into the outlook 2013 address book . How to correct it?

I must have got the process wrong.

Thanks

OK. I found the imported contacts in a separate list inside the address book. There are 2 lists one is "In This computer" the other is just "contacts" . How do I make the "contacts "list as the default so I get an address book when I click on 'To" ?

When you receive? Are you sure? IIRC, it only creates contacts using the email addresses you send email to. Of course that means if you forwarded an email that had 1,000 email addresses in it, all 1,000 of those email addresses would be added to your contacts.

I can't believe I can't find the answer to this dilemma, which I've tried to solve for years. Hoping someone might have some insights. I have my own business, and keep a Contacts table in Access 2013. I also have a Contacts folder in Outlook 2013 that I want to keep in sync with my database. Sometimes changes are made in Outlook (or using GSyncit to sync with Google on my phone or tablet) and sometimes when entering service calls in Access. When I go to created a "linked table" from Outlook to Access, I get a separate table of contacts that will not sync with my existing table. Every week, I have to literally export Access data to an Excel CSV and import into Outlook, then go through name by name to choose the latest entry to keep. Ridiculous! I've googled and googled, and I have found no joy. Any ideas??

Suddenly I can't open my calendar or contacts in Outlook 2007. Have been using this software for several months. Can open mail and notes folders but not the other two above. When I click the folder the hand sign comes on and the screen freezes. If I try to open another folder the screen goes white and hangs. I have to start Task manager to shut the session down. Only recent changes are MS updates from the web but can't see any problems there. No error messages appear and all other programs run OK. Other recent change was upgrading virus software to Norton 360. Ops system is Vista Home Premium. Have searched MS website for a fix and this site. Can anyone suggest a fix.

Are you on an Exchange Server or not? Is it installed with CW (Corporate Workgroup) or IMO (Internet Mail Only). If you're unsure, hit Help-About.

Sorry, but the answer depends a great deal on those questions.

I have an HP SPLIT 13-M121. I just upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I can't open my Outlook 2007 Calendar or Contacts. All my contacts were in 'contacts in iCloud.' I also had a problem with sending mail but running the 'scannow' command as system administrator solved that. I ran it 4 times but it didn't fix the contacts/calendar problem. I get an error message 'The set folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.' I can navigate to the Outlook.pst file on my pc but when I try to open it, I get a message warning me that it's a system file and asking what app i want to use to open it.
I'd be very grateful for any help!

Before you change anything have you checked to see if you have a Recovery point that you can use.

Open Control Panel, select Recovery & see if there is a Restore point you can use that is before the current dilemma. It may save you a lot of work.

Hi everyone!

What is the best way to sync my emails, contacts, and calendar with my Outlook 2010 (win7 pc), iPhone, and iPad2?

Basically, I want to send/receive emails to all devices, and update my calendar and contacts on my Outlook, and then have my iOS devices update automatically be synced with my Outlook contacts and calendar, and vice versa.

I've used Microsoft Exchange in the past to do this, but it seems like over kill... and it's a little overcomplicated for me. I was hoping I could just do all this with Gmail, but it seems that I need MS Exchange to do it that way too.

Any help and advice is very appreciated!!!

Hi -

This is a pretty dumb question, admittedly!

I am using MS Outlook 2003. I recently created a new email account (exchange) under my default profile. My previous email account (pop) remains my default; however, when I send an Outlook Calendar invite to other employees it arrives in their mailboxes under the new exchange email address.

I cannot find any settings in Calendar mode to revert to the old default email address as sender and do not want all my meeting invites coming from this new, secondary address. Is there any way to change this back?

Thanks!

A:Export mail and contacts from Outlook 2007 to Windows live mail 2012?

Don I might be way off track here mate but was the Outlook account the same email address as you have set up in WLM?

Just a thought you might try adding an account to WLM using the old address and password. I did this with my old account from my service provider then went to a Hotmail account.
Now admittedly it was still within WLM but worth a try.

What I will do is try and add my work account (Outlook) to my WLM and see if it works.

PS It added the account but I have to get the POP and STMP settings right first.

While trying to research a different problem, I created a *.live.com id in Live Mail. Now I can't figure out how to go back to my default identity. *.live.com has no contact list. Windows Live Mail asks me to login with the previous Id, but does not accept the default Logon Id. I've tried to have it reset repeatedly, but to no avail.

I do not have a problem with the *.live.com ID, but I need to get my contact list back, either move it to *.live.com or somehow copy and paste it to *.live.com or else get back to my default identify so I have my contacts again.

Does anyone know if you can change the default calendar in OL03?

I have an iphone and signed up for mobile be (which could be very cool if it ever works right) and I'm having an awful time syncing calendars... iphone recognizes a lot of calendars and outlook can see all of them, too but does not combine them.

so I figured out that I can change all the entries to HOME and then I can see one month view on outlook, but it's a PITA having to navigate to the HOME calendar from the default one.

As I write this, I see I probably should have asked before I did all this work whether or not there is a way to combine multiple calendars in Outlook???

thanks,

When you switch to calendar the first week of the month is the first week displayed, at the end of the month this means you don't see into the future without doing a next month and then Today function. Can I make the Calendar default to the first week being displayed in month view being the currrent week instead of the first week of the month? Also once I change the view, if I go out of Calendar and come back in it is reset, can it remember the last view you had?

1. My default calendar view is on the weekly setting. I'd like to see just "today's" appointments by default.

2. Each calendar line is only 5 minutes in length by default. I'd like to change the default length of each line on the calendar to 30 minutes.

A thousand times, thanks!

When you open the calendar there are three tabs at the top (Day, Week and Month). Choose Day.

Right click someplace on the calendar then click customize current view, and then click other settings. There you can set the time scale to 30 minutes.

A:How can I change default location of Windows Live Mail Contacts file?

There's no easy way to change the location of WEMail contacts. Any registry hacks for any Windows application only makes your system less stable. I don't know of any registry tricks for this.

A better way is to move your entire user profile to a sperate partition on the root drive.

User Profile - Change Default Location - Method One

This is preferred over changing individual standard folders location in the folder properties (Documents, Music, Pictures, Videos) and changing default locations inside an application (Msg Store location).

I set up my system that way, it's much cleaner and a reinstall doesn't affect that User profile partition (unless you do a factory reset or tell the install to use the entire drive).

You should use the root drive so that it is always available when you boot the system.

A:How do I change the default folder for saving contacts in Outlook?

I realize that this is an old thread, but I thought that I'd post an answer. As far as I have been able to find out (and I've spent weeks looking for an answer), it is not possible to change the default Contacts folder. The default contacts folder will always be the one in the .pst or .ost file which contains your default Inbox. If you go to Properties for that Contacts folder, you cannot remove the checkmark from "Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book" on the Outlook Address Book tab.

The best that we can hope to do is to change the order in which our various contacts folders are shown when we click the Contacts icon in Outlook's navigation pane, and change which contact list will be shown first in Outlook's Address Book (via the Address Book icon on the Home ribbon). To change the order in which contacts folders are shown, follow this procedure:
Select the Contacts icon in the navigation pane.
Under My Contacts, right-click the folder that you want to move to the top (or bottom) of the list and then click "Move Up" (or "Move Down").
NOTE: Unfortunately, you cannot remove any Contacts folders from any of your open .pst or .ost files from this list. Ideally, we would want to remove them, but we can't.
To change which contact list is shown first in the Outlook Address Book, follow this procedure:
Click the Tools menu (Outlook 2007) or the Home tab (Outlook 2010 / 2013) and then click Address Book to open the address book.
In the address book, click the Tools menu and then click Options to load the addressing options.
For Outlook 2007, click the drop-down arrow next to Show this address list first. For Outlook 2010 / 2013, select Start with contact folders or select Custom and rearrange the order of contacts as required.
Use the pull-down menu to select the contact list that you want displayed as the default when the address book is opened.
Click OK.
IMPORTANT: When you open Contacts the first time after starting Outlook, and possibly after that, the default Contacts list will be shown first, NOT the one that you moved to the top of the list. This is because it is not actually possible to change the default Contacts list unless you change the location of the default Inbox to another .pst or .ost file. However, if you delete all of the contacts in the default folder, seeing the empty list will remind you that you have to click on the folder that you moved to the top of the list.

Basically when a user opens their outlook 2003, I want a shared calendar or some type of medium to display any of today's activities on the Outlook Today page.

If more information is needed, please let me know.

Thanks for the help,

A:Setting Outlook Today as default to display Group Calendar

Does anyone know of a good book that might help us administer Exchange/Outlook? I don't like the fact that everything seems so much more difficult in exchange when it cost so much more than our last email server. Unfortunately the powers that be wanted to change.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit on my Intel Duo 2,4 GHz with 2GB RAM.
I would like to migrate from EURORA 7.1 to OUTLOOK 2013.
For OUTLOOK 2013 I would like to change the default address for all the email and mailboxes from the operating system Drive (C) to another hard-drive, Drive (E). I have done that in EUDORA 7.1.
To do that I followed the instructions as shown on this link under "Workaround":
http://http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2752583#FixItForMe
But neither the manual way of doing it, or the "FixIt" application works.
When I go to OUTLOOK 2013 and then FILE / ACCOUNT SETTINGS / ACCOUNT SETTINGS and then tab "Data Files" it still shows the link to a Drive (C) address.
Any solutions? I'm not a techie so please make it simple for my simple mind.

A:Solved: Outlook 2013 Change Emails-Mailboxes Default Address

What do you mean by default address? I think you mean change the default location of the Outlook data(PST) file?

It's actually pretty easy, find the file in the current location, and cut and paste it to where you want it to be. Then open Outlook, it will ask for the location of the file since it can no longer find it, browse and select it.

In Outlook 2007 Calendar, the default reminder time is 15 minutes. That is, Outlook will remind you of each appointment 15 minutes in advance.

In Tools\Options..., I've tried to set the default reminder time to a shorter interval. But no matter what I set it to--10 minutes, 12 minutes, 5 minutes--Outlook keeps reminding me of each appointment 15 minutes in advance.

In Tools\Options..., there's a checkbox called "Default Reminder:" Whether I check it or leave it unchecked has no effect on the reminder time either--Outlook keeps reminding me of each appointment 15 minutes in advance.

Any ideas what could be happening here?

Try this:

1.) Make sure Outlook is closed, not running! Open Control Panel (right click Start button, select Control Panel)

2.) In Category view, select User Accounts:

3.) Select Mail (Microsoft Outlook 20XX):

4.) Select Email Accounts:

5.) Select your email account, click Change:

6.) Type the new password, click Next:

7.) Account settings will be tested, when done close all windows:

Notice please: you can only change password if the account type is Exchange ActiveSync, IMAP or POP3. If the account type is Microsoft Exchange (for instance Office 365 Business email accounts), changing the password with this method is not possible.

What worked for me was a program called Address Magic Plus. Like you, I was trying to go from Windows Live to Outlook and this did it for me. The Plus version exports & imports your address book, email, etc. It was worth it to me. It supports many different email formats so you can use it for other programs if you decide to change later on. It can be found at: http://www.connectedsw.com/Overview/57262

Personally I would leave the account as it is. An IMAP account have the advantage of leaving copies of e-mail on the server. So in the event of system failure all your e-mails are safe.

I have a client who uses Outlook 2013 on windows 7 x64

They are using iMAP

They have an issue that emails are not being delivered to Outlook when they open up Outlook first thing in the mornings. All emails are being delivered to their web mail. It then begins to work after a couple of hours.

I have tried to repair office, run updates, scanned for viruses, created a new outlook profile.
And none of the above work

Any ideas??

I downloaded the Office 2013 preview and used it for a while (without uninstalling Office 2010). One thing that I didn't like is that, although my e-mails were indexed for searching within Outlook 2013, using Windows unified search (clicking the Microsoft button and searching for a phrase, for example) only turned up old e-mails that had been received and indexed when I was using Outlook 2010, but nothing received after installing 2013. Also, no previews of the old e-mails were available in the preview pane of the search window. Maybe all this was because I still had 2010 installed?

I'm interested in buying 2013 but I'm not going to do it if I can only search for e-mails within Outlook or if I can't preview them using Windows search. Can someone confirm for me whether 2013 is working as 2010 did with respect to Windows search, inlcuding previews if the preview pane is selected? Thanks..

A:Outlook 2013 / e-mail search question

OK, I answered my own question by shelling out $99 for Office 365 Home. Microsoft continues to believe that users don't want to use Windows search to search for e-mail messages or their contents, even though Microsoft itself delivered this technology when it first released Desktop search and then integrated it with Windows in Vista and Win 7. I use this feature literally every day. It's very frustrating when a software company takes something away that people have found useful, for no apparent reason. I can't believe that it was somehow not possible to retain the feature - it seems more likely that it took some work to disable it.

Yes, I do know that I can search for my e-mails within Outlook 2013. That's not how search is effective for me. I'm looking for something that I know I have, and I don't know if it's in a document, an e-mail, or whatever. I want to do what I've been able to do for several years now - one search to find my information, wherever it may be.

Even more frustrating, I can't keep Outlook 2010 as my e-mail client and use Office 365 for all the other Office suite apps (Word 2013, Excel 2013, etc.). Even if I keep and use Outlook 2010 as my "default" e-mail client, that doesn't solve my problem, and anyway, even with the default box checked in Outlook 2010, it's not really the default. Why do I say this? Because I uninstalled Office 365 and left Outlook 2010 (and the rest of Office 2010) installed, but Windows now tells me that I have no default e-mail client, no matter how much I fool around with the Default Programs. I had to do a system restore to a restore point prior to the installation of Office 365 in order to return to my (eveidently outdated) version of "normal."

Hello,

I just installed Office 2013 and decided to give the updated Outlook a fair try. I'm coming from using Thunderbird as my main e-mail program.

I have 10 gmail IMAP accounts setup in Outlook, using to be what I believe are the default settings (I haven't changed anything in any of the accounts). I am not working offline, and I have Outlook set to send/receive every 10 minutes.

In Thunderbird, anytime a new e-mail message is received, it is automatically downloaded and I get an alert sound.

However with Outlook, in order for the e-mail to be downloaded, I have to click on the Inbox of the respective e-mail account in order for it to be automatically downloaded.

How can I solve this? This isn't an e-mail account problem because I immediately receive new e-mails via IMAP in Thunderbird and on my phone.

Thank you.

Connected my @hotmail.com account, but all folders (inc. Inbox and Sent) only go as far back as "Three Weeks Ago".

Windows Live Mail downloaded it all.

Any ideas?

A:Outlook 2013 only downloads past three weeks of e-mail instead of all

I use Outlook 2013 & I think your problem could be that Outlook has been set to delete all emails from the server older than, in your case 3 weeks.
Select File in Outlook then Account Settings & then highlight your Hotmail A/C, then select Change & page through all the settings & you should find a setting on how long to keep emails on server, or something similar to that. From memory it is very nearly the last setting.
Windows Live Mail uses a different type of email arrangement & there are no settings available for that, however it is very much easier to set up in Outlook.

I've got a weird issue with Outlook 2013 on Windows 8..  I've read several other posts that are kind of similar but they don't really apply.
So, Outlook 2013 uses the "Desktop Mail Notification" sound event..  unless I change the .wav file assigned to that event.  Then it instead uses the "New Mail Notification" event.  Then when I change the .wav file assigned
to THAT one, it changes again to instead use the "Notification" event.  Then when I change the .wav file assigned to "Notification," Outlook just won't play anything at all when receiving new mail.  It just flat refuses to use
anything but the default .wav files.
Has anyone run into this before?

I'm torn between letting Windows 8.1 automatically sync to my Outlook.com account and use the interfaces provided in Windows 8? Or just add URLs (as apps for the start menu) for Outlook.com mail, calendar and people. The latter is a much better interface (IMO) and the only thing I seem to lose is the live tiles for mail and calendar that come with Windows 8 mail and calendar.

Am I missing something here? Is there an advantage to using the inherent mail, calendar and people apps? I just don't like their over-simplified look and inability the change things like calendar colors, etc.

A:Help importing contacts & mail into Outlook 2002

Just few tidbits, not a comprehensive answer at all, and based on Outlook 2003 and not 2002:

Few outpost files are in
C:\Documents and Settings\<userName>\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Files I see are outcmd.dat, Outlook.NK2, ourlook.srs, outlook.xml, outlPRT. No idea what they are.

.pst file and archive.pst are in
C:\Documents and Settings\<userName>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
also here are extend.dat, mailbox.PAB, outlook.log

Outlook.pst contains contacts and mails in one bundle.
I once made changes, and had to reimport contacts and it wasn't easy. I actually had to make another layer in Contacts, so I have some empty Outlook thing and under it is my contacts list. Unfortuanately don't recall the details
