I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Recently my computer crashed and said it had to restart to fix a problem. After it restarted it tried to go into repair mode but now it gets stuck either trying to repair or at the HP loading screen.I ran some tests using the UEFI BIOS program and it said there was an error with the hard drive. Prior to this I was attempting to backup an iPhone on iTunes. The failure code from UEFI is 9gc72m-6j489x-qfpjw1-60tl03Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:HP Envy dv6 stuck at loading screen or automatic repair

Hi, The 24 character error code is a failure of the short Disk Self Test ( DST ) and would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with the boot issues you describe. If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - If needed, you can check your warranty status Here. You can contact HP starting on the link below. http://welcome.hp.com/country/w1/en/contact_us.html If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know - include the full Model No. and Product No. of your dv6 series notebook - see Here for a further explanation. Regards, DP-K

Hi,as the title says, I have an Envy m6-k010dx that is currently running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.I have all the drivers installed and working for the laptop except the beats audio one.I have searched all the previous posts on the forums and since HP "upgraded" the site,They all redirect to the Support page instead of the page with the driver. Can someone please post an updated link for the audio?I'm losing my mind trying to find it.Thanks in advance.

A:Envy M6-K010dx - Windows 7 Drivers

Hi there @Lifted47,  Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. It is a great site for information and questions. I have looked into your issue about wanting the Windows 7 beats audio drivers. It looks like Paul_Tikkanen wrote: Hi: See if this one works... This package contains the driver that enables the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. File name: sp66680.exe Did you happen to try that download? All I can see is that your HP ENVY m6-k010dx Sleekbook came with Windows 8 on it. Did you happen to downgrade it to Windows 7?  On your HP ENVY m6-k010dx Sleekbook Software and Driver Downloads page, Windows 8 is the lowest Operating System compatible with your Notebook and downgrading could be challenging. There are no drivers available for Windows 7 and your Notebook. You would be missing some of the special features. Here is a link so you can understand your downgrade rights.   I hope this helps.Have a great day!

All keyboard codes do is change the screen to say "setup" or Diagnostics or Boot. but never past that point. I'm trying to boot from CD or Flash drive to recover.  Sorry for the upside down pic it was right side up. You get the idea. If there is no way to get into the bios then this pc seems done.

Hi, I'm currently in the UK. And I have brought my laptop with, a couple of days ago it has started to be a bit slow. Then it wouldn't go past the loading screen once turned on, the circle goes around until it stops then the whole screen goes black then it pops back up to show the hp screen again. I have tried resetting it, (without losing my files) it worked and then when I tried in the morning it went back to being stuck on the loading screen I'm currently doing a system check and will let you know when it has an error. But is there anything else I can do once this system check is done

Hello,
Today I turned on my computer and Windows won't load. It just stops at the loading screen (the one with the Windows logo and blue loading bar). The bar just stops moving.
I can load Windows in Safe Mode, and I tried scanning for viruses (0) and spyware (5) - but it didn't help.

I didn't install anything new and haven't changed any setting. The only thing is that I turned my computer on while there was a CD in the drive. I took it out but it didn't help.

Someone has any suggestions?
Thank you.

While it gets stuck it starts to make more noise and gets warmer than it usually does while booting. I did a system check in the BIOS bit everything appears to be just fine. Anyone knowa the problem and/or solution? Thanks in advance,Giovanni

Hi Joe. Welcome to TSF!

Do you have your original system disk? If so, boot with that and select REPAIR. This will open up the Recovery Console. From there, you can type FIXBOOT followed by FIXMBR. Be advised that FIXMBR comes with a warning:

Quote:

Warning This command can damage your partition tables if a virus is present or if a hardware problem exists. If you use this command, you may create inaccessible partitions. We recommend that you run antivirus software before you use this command.

Being that your computer won't start, it sounds more like corruption of a system file and not necessarily a virus. I've never had a single issue with a computer after running FIXMBR either. I just want to be clear about what Microsoft posts about it on their website.

Good day!

Mike

So heres the issue, last night i turned my computer off like usual and havent messed with it recently, then today it doesnt get past the black loading screen with the logo and the blue bar that goes by. I CAN get to safe mode but it kind of craps out on me and an error that i got from event log says something along the lines of "xp failed to load": a small list of programs, among which are amdk8 and fips. I'm posting at my friends house so bear with me, this is pretty much it. I havent done anything major for a long time, with the most recent thing happening being prototype getting installed on my computer. Thanks for any responses.

Okey so about 1 month ago I got a HP Probook 6450b from my school and iv'e been using it for awhile but when Im being on the computer for awhile it lags and i have to unplug the battery to close it. But when i start it again it asks me to run the startup repair and it just search for problem for a long time until i close the computer or the battery runs out. It also hangs up at windows 7 loading screen and i cant get to safemode either. Since it is from school i dont have the w7 cd.

A:Windows 7 stuck on loading screen

As you dont have windows 7 installer dvd, you can Download Windows 7 System Recovery Disc (32 bit , as your system specs says), burn it in a disk and boot from it ..... and run Startup Repair .

Wait how long it takes..... sometimes it takes a long time coz it makes a system scan at the same time . If still fails, try Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times .

I've been trying to fix a friends computer for awhile with no luck. I formatted the HDD and when trying to do a clean install of Windows, it gets stuck on the Windows Starting or Windows loading screen. I've tried replacing the HDD and the RAM, I've used a Windows 7, XP, and Vista install disk but they all stop on the same screen. I know the CD drive is working and I'm hesitant to replace the motherboard. I'm working with an Acer AX1700-U3700A. Any suggestions?

A:Windows Loading Screen Gets Stuck

If you have replaced all of the hardware, then the only other suspect would be the Power Supply Unit.

A:Help! Stuck at WinXP loading screen.

watson123,

If this started right after you downloaded and ran the program in question - it's VERY likely that your PC has become infected with malware. I would re-post your message on the malware forum as I'm not authorized to support malware issues.

The other possibility is that by "slamming" down your PC (I'm assuming your powered it off) - you may have corrupted the filesystem on your hard drive. The only way to fix this would be to bring up XP (from the install CD) into the Recovery Console. Boot from the Install CD - but do NOT elect to install. Instead, press R to repair or recover. This should bring up the recovery console which will ask you which installation of windows to access and prompt for the Administrator password. If you get this far, at the command prompt, type

CHKDSK C: /R

This will run a comprehensive scan and repair of your filesystem.

Im just not sure where to go from here, Even though It is all rather outdated hardware, I am still new to troubleshooting errors so any help would be greatly appreciated

I have had an issue the past week with my computer both loading and shutting down and I also have an issue with hiccups during gamingHello -Could you please be a bit more "specific" as to the exact problems that you are having / had during the past week."Issue with loading / shutting down" can mean many things, and "hiccups during gaming" is very vague also -Have you run sfc /scannow and chkdsk /r (both at least twice), made sure you Defragged your system, run Disc Cleanup, cleaned the inside of your computer and fans, and if you feel that it may help, attempted a System Restore to a time prior to these "problems" starting ??Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.Checkmark the following checkboxes:•Flush DNS•Report IE Proxy Settings•Reset IE Proxy Settings•Report FF Proxy Settings•Reset FF Proxy Settings•List content of Hosts•List IP configuration•List last 10 Event Viewer log•List Installed Programs•List Users, Partitions and Memory size.•List Minidump FilesClick Go and post the result (Result.txt). Otherwise run Startup Repair.

All of a sudden my computer is having a really hard time loading loading XP Stuck on screen Windows the windows It starts up normally gets to the loading screen with the little blue bars going across the bottom and will sit there looking like it s doing something for hours on end I ve left it alone for quite some time just to see if it will actually load eventually but I ve yet to see it finish If I do a cold restart it recognizes that something went wrong and asks if I want to start in safe mode which thank god loads perfectly What I thought was causing the problem was a nasty kb file that was refusing any and all attempts made by me to delete it it kept saying it was being used so I downloaded a program that would delete it on the next restart I restarted and just to be Windows XP Stuck on the loading screen safe Windows XP Stuck on the loading screen loaded back into safe mode The file was gone and I ran adaware spybot and avg and then scheduled a disk check the next time my computer restarted I restarted and to my surprise the disk check came up and immediately said that there were no errors on my hard drive Windows XP Stuck on the loading screen normally it takes quite some time Then Windows booted I was overjoyed thinking that one of the things I had done had managed to fix it So I shut it down that night This morning I discovered that the problem still persists Some things I ve noticed is that during startup the loading bar pauses at certain points and when it starts up normally these points are different than when it starts up incorrectly Also I m not sure if this is related but my computer won t recognize my usb keyboard during startup which means that I can t select safe mode when it prompts me which is extremely infuriating so I ve had to borrow a friend s keyboard that has a standard plug Any ideas how to fix this I m at college so being without a computer is very inconveniencing nbsp

Try a system restore/recovery, using the techniques devised by Gateway.

That should enable you to determine if it's a hardware situation or an O/S situation.

Heeelppp. Ive recently been putting my comp in standby every night instead of shut down, but last night I shut it down and now it wont come back!! It stays at the Windows XP loading screen.
I am only able to load it into "safe mode w/ networking." The "Last settings that worked" option does not work.

I have tried to restore it 3 times to 3 different dates, and all give me the same result---stuck at windows XP screen in normal mode, or loading in safe mode.

I have also tried unplugging the system, as well as several components within it (ram, hard drive) in an attempt to maybe reset something, but this did nothing. Im currently running a virus scan with EZ antivirus, but i dont have much confidence in that : /

Hi,

Try booting off your XP CD, going into the repair console, and run CHKDSK /F.

Failing that, maybe try repairing your XP installation?

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

Make sure you read through the warnings to prevent data loss.

If you don't want to do a repair, and feel comfortable enough with XP, then maybe boot into Safe Mode, run MSCONFIG, choose "Selective Startup", and alter the settings to determine which component(s) may be causing XP to hang (trial and error).

But the repair might be easier...

You can try booting to the alternate boot menu (press F8 before Windows starts to load) and select Repair or start up repair if that is an option.

or

Try to boot to safe mode. Reboot the system and press F8 before Windows loads. Select Safe Mode.

After that it was finished installing Windows XP Professional, it rebooted and I got this XP loading screen. Now is the problem, it's stuck there forever with this loading thing moving and moving in an endless loop. What could be the problem? I hope it's nothing hardware related as they are all new.

hiya,
i have a windows vista 32bit and i turned away from it for a moment yesterday and it turned itself off (so i have no idea why it happened) and now i cannot get it past the loading screen...the very first one that appears when you turn on the computer. not even a windows loading screen. i can't override this screen and get it to go to safe mode or anything. i tried putting in a boot disc but it didn't fix the problem. i haven't been able to backup my data for awhile because i've been travelling and wanted to do it when i got home...so that was what i intended to do yesterday (and the whole reason i turned away from my laptop!) so if there's any way to recover my computer without wiping it i'd be quite grateful!

i'd appreciate any help.

You could do a repair install of Windows XP. This won't delete your files, but you will need to reinstall many of your programs.

A:Computer gets stuck on WinXP loading screen.

is your 100gig maxtor HD the one that's being effected by the nforce4 chipset? there are reports that some maxtor's HD have compatibility problem with nforce4 chipset (I think all the 16mb cache ones). Check your model number and do a google search. Also, what version of bios is your mobo? I have the same mobo and I am running at hte latest bios (with similar specs as yours) and I have no trouble with windows.

I've been troubleshooting an issue with a Windows Vista machine that has been having boot problems. The machine just sits at the loading screen with the green bar scrolling across. I've tried several methods already to remove this and just when I think I have it fixed, it won't boot. Below is the information and steps I've tried so far.

Hardware: Dell Inspiron Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB RAM
OS: Vista Home Premium 64 bit.
OS Antivirus: Norton Internet Security Suite

Troubleshooting

1. Booted in Safe Mode w/ command prompt and ran VIPRESECURE Rescue. Found three threats and cleaned them. Machine booted fine after this. Downloaded Windows Update and now stuck at same loading screen.

2. Booted in Safe Mode and ran Malware Bytes. Did not find anything, machine still will not boot.

I'm pretty sure I have a boot kit virus on here, but not sure what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciative.

Thanks!

Weird

Hi Darkfire777

Well this is a weird issue your having, cant say I've had it before and I cant say what the solution will be, but here is what my attemts would have been.

I would first of all, format and re-install windows just to make sure its not a sytem file issue.

I had a similar problem with a pc once, I tried everything (other hardrive, etc.) eventually I changed the CPU and BAM my Problem was solved, do try different hardware ofr ex. RAM and CPU.

Good luck!!

When my computer boots up, it always comes up with the GIGABYTE motherboard loading screen where it states the information about the motherboard and the key commands at the bottom of the screen such as, Post Screen, BIOS setup\Q-Flash etc.

For some reason it is just stuck on this screen, and it cannot get past it at all.

I have a Cyborg Gaming keyboard which always lights up when the computer comes on, but it does not light up and cannot be used, same as the mouse.

Does anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

A:Computer stuck on Motherboard loading screen

tx,

try using a different keyboard? post your system specs as well, please as it may help everyone to assist you better

the only thing i can think of pertaining to your problem is that either

1) the BIOS error settings are set on HALT ALL (which means if you have an error with the keyboard it will not let you continue) which is kind of unlikely, unless your machine is brand new and Gigabyte got "cute" with their error settings since i've last owned a board from them or you've changed the keyboard one yourself...

2) something is wrong perhaps with your hard drive or other hardware (power supply unit, etc.) that would prevent the computer from POSTing or even getting power to the keyboard...

Computer gets stuck after windows xp loading screen?

When I turn on the computer, I get the normal option to pick windows XP professional, or windows.I pick windows xp professional, it has a 30 second delay before the Windows xp loading screen pops up (with the blue bar moving below the logo), after that screen it just goes into a black screen and won't go on. I tried starting in safe mode but it gets stuck at agp440.sys. I put in the Windows XP CD to run the repair mode, using the guide on microsoft support, I disabled agp440, but in order for agp440 to be "officially" disabled, the computer had to be restarted. I restarted the computer but agp440 won't disable, it remains at "boot at start-up".

I have windows XP professional on a IBM thinkpad T40

My windows vista laptop has for some reason frozen on the loading screen, although the loading bars move it does not load the startup routine. I have tried the windows vista startup repair via disc but that did not make difference, I have also tried a system restore which did not work either. Is there a command I can do via cmd prompt? what do I have to do? I can load the computer in safe mode as well, I done a norton internet security scan but that picked up nothing.

A:Windows Vista stuck on loading screen

run a thougher an antivirus of your computer and an anti addware. if you've got one in safe mode. try scan disk or similar.

Hi My godmother just find screen, on the solution Stuck Can't loading xp gave me Stuck on xp loading screen, Can't find the solution her old dell precision because it was getting the BSOD I managed to get rid of that by getting a new motherboard battery heh The problem is while i was trying to figure out what was wrong with it I cleaned my hard drive of everything including Stuck on xp loading screen, Can't find the solution the OS and all the drivers I have an xp disc so I just installed it After a couple restarts it gets stuck on the XP loading screen and I can never get through after that So I've been repeatedly formatting and installing xp on my hdd which I know can't be healthy I've been looking for a solution anywhere anyone have an idea what it could be Also The only drivers I d l are the ethernet and the nvidia quadro nvs driver I'm going to try a format without downloading anything and see if nothing happens Also I recently got a new hard drive and tried installing xp it still freezes so that's out of the question I was thinking it could be the power supply but I'm about to get a new one just to find out my old one is fine Please reply if you have any ideas gratefully Justin

A:Stuck on xp loading screen, Can't find the solution

Boot off the XP CD and Delete all the partitions on the drive. Then create a new partition and then Format NTFS, don't do a Quick Format, Full format will take some time. If you still have problems after installing XP then go into the Bios and post the temps, voltages and fan speeds.

Hi

I hope someone can help me with this. i have a socket 775 quad core machine. 4gig ram 1tb hard drive 2.33ghz.
i have always had windows 7 on my computer. however i notice in the past year if my computer had been on for long periods of time and i tried booting it up after 10 minutes it would get stuck on the loading windows screen. i always thought maybe it was over heated. i recently cleaned my computer removing all components. the machine looks like new. however i tried installing windows 10. the installation was successful but upon restarting the machine again on the loading screen it froze. i now believe this is not a software issue but a hardware one. can anyone give me tips or advise me on what i should to. thanks

There was a power outage a couple hours ago and it turned my computer off. Now when I turn it on, it cannot get past the loading screen. I've left it for at least 15 minutes and I've tried running startup repair and running in safe mode. When I ran safe mode, it showed all the drivers it was loading and got stuck at crsdisk.sys. I have a recovery disk if that will help, but I'd rather use that as the last resort. Thanks to anyone that can help.

A:Windows vista stuck at loading screen

There is possible hardware damage from a power surge. But start by checking the disk for errors and repairing them. Run chkdsk /r from a command line from the booted DVD or your recovery environment.

A:Solved: Windows XP stuck at loading screen

Get a windows xp pro cd then when you boot up your computer, you would see an instruction like ''Press any key to boot from cd'' then press any key on the keyboard. then the win xp setup will load, press R to repair, when the repair page appears, you would see something like C:\ continue with this command ''chkdsk /r'' without the quotation marks. This repair process can take up to an hour or more. After this process is finished., type chkdsk /p and after this one also finishes, type exit to close the repair console and the computer will boot when it's booting when it prompts you to press any key to boot from cd, don't do anything until it loads to windows, then now you can take out your cd from the ROM.

Hi
Recently I insalled a new hard drive on my sisters PC. I wanted her to be able to go straight to the desktop after loading and not get the log in screen. so I went to start, run and typed (I think) userpasswords2 or soemthing like that and unchecked the box about passwords being allowed or something. (I found a site that explained how to do it)
anyway, now when I try to start up the PC, it gets all the way to the desktop and then super fast an error message comes up that says "Windows could not load..." and I can't read the rest because a new screen appears over the top of it that says "Windows is loading" but it stays there for hours and never loads.
Can anyone help?? I can't get into do anything! PLEASE!

If you can still get into safemode, try Last Known Good Configuration. See if you can boot into safemode again. If that dosen't work, boot to recovery console and at the windows prompt type chkdsk /p notice the space between k and /
at the next prompt type exit.

Hi kultivater,

When you first turn on your computer, you may see a prompt stating press F10 (or another function key) to go to System Recovery (label may be different)

Please try restarting and then check for that key press. If you get into CMOS (bios) setup screen, that's not it (which is usually DEL or F1 or F2 key)

Hello,
I've been playing Runes of Magic for a few months now. Everything is fine except when Windows 10 installs a new update. I either have to reinstall the game or rollback to the previous version of Windows.
The problem I am having is every 12 midnight and 8 A.M., I cannot log into the game and get stuck on the loading screen. On the hour, on the dot. Everyday. I am able to log in again after 2 hours. So, I was thinking, maybe there is a scheduled task that is updating and hogging all the bandwidth of my internet connection.
I was able to see a task and set it to 2 P.M. but I forgot how to get there. I did not use the Task Scheduler window. And if you are able to help, I don't know what to disable and enable if ever I see the list.

Please help

A:Game stuck on loading screen because of possible scheduled tasks

Hello deuce Welcome to the Ten Forums!

One thing found here lately when any Steam or non Steam driven pc game will suddenly stall even crash and maybe even require the use of the Task Manager in order to get back to the desktop will be some 3rd party update! Whether it be Firefox, Waterfox, Cyberfox, etc. out of several web browsers kept on and randomly in use or some other program like PaintNet as one example a new updated version's desktop shortcut will be found on the desktop.

One way to set things up where the WU or Windows Updates wanting a full system restart to finish putting on some new update you can try to work would be the new scheduling feature now seen in Windows 10 would be setting up the Start and End times for the Windows Update Active Hours - Change in WIndows 10

The guide there explains how to delay the WU from going to work during the schedule hours upto 12hrs. in fact of what would be your regular Active Hours at the system you have there. The WU will be put on hold or a standby status during the active hours and only then outside of those select hours be able to automatically end any running programs while installing updates which often may require a full system restart.

With non MS apps automatically seeking self updates the situation for each of those however may require a visit to the app's own settings where you would then disable any automatic check upon start up. For Steam driven titles the Steam engine is also notorious for Steam News and Steam engine updates as well as security checks where you then need to verify your account information.

Often some small update for some otherwise non intrusive utility app will suddenly become an annoyance if left unchecked! Been there too many times and as always when not the WU wanting a restart some small app is found to be at fault!

A:Stuck at black screen after "Windows is loading files"

for hp PC's you can start a system recovery (fresh install of the OS) by pressing the f11 repeatedly when booting up the pc, it will take you into the recovery manager in there you can do a system recovery with or without backing up files

you can alternatively go into f2 for a diagnostic test to see what is failing (run all the tests)

My brother's computer that I built for him a year ago recently started acting up. It now will not progress past the Windows XP loading screen with the blue loading bar. If I try to boot it in safe mode, when all the drivers are listed on the screen (which I assume are the ones being loaded) it stops with "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\System32\Drivers\Mup.sys" being the last listing shown. So I need a way to make it boot somehow or figure out what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

P.S. I tried booting with no USB devices plugged in (a suggestion I saw on another post) but to no avail

A:Stuck at XP load screen, stops during driver loading

This sounds like you have a corrupt file in your hard drive.

Check out your bios setup to make sure everything is ok.

Reboot your computer with an XP installation CD, then open the recovery console. Run Chkdsk/p then try to reboot. If that doesn't work then try Chkdsk/r.

Also, check your Ram.

Good Luck

A:Stuck at loading screen, safemode doesn't work

Hello kultivater, Welcome to TSF!

If the data is not important to you, have you the following items handy?...

1: The original Motherboard Drivers CD
2: A Windows? XP SP2-CD (or access to borrow one)
3: The Windows? Product Key that came with the computer.

Once you have these, we can give you a step-by-step guide to wiping your HDD and reinstalling the Operating System (Windows? XP) on your computer...if that's what you really want to do

Regards,

My friend's computer (which I'm using) is stuck at loading screen. It's a Toshiba Satellite 64-bit with Windows Vista. I told him to format but he refuses because he doesn't want to lose stuff he has.

I am currently on the Safe Mode with Networking, so anything you need me to do I can do from here, except install programs.

I tried to do a virus scan with avast!, but the computer shut down. Tried again, and it shut down again. It shut down when it was about 70% done, and it had found 18 infected files. I did another scan, but this time I stopped it when it had 11 infected files and moved them to chest. And now when I do the scan it shuts down on 4%.

Can this be the cause of my problem? Or is it another thing? Solutions?

A:Stuck at "Windows is loading files" screen during installation

You are missing the point...that being the origin and ensuing actions that you have taken regarding this one computer.

IMO, in order for anyone to properly respond to your situation...they need to see the complete story.

The complete story is available and summarized as told by you...in the original topic.  The fact that you initiated other topics about the same issues regarding this one computer...is misleading, IMO, to anyone trying to answer intelligentlyt.

The fact that you repeat the same data 1,000 times...won't change my belief that all your attempts reiterating the same facts about this one system...need to be in one topic, as it is currently.  That topic remains open for the benefit of all who would attempt to get the complete story, not just part of it.

I don't know why you should object to such, but...it seems that you do.

This topic is now closed, since it amounts to duplication of the topic at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/484007/my-computer-wont-boot-help/#entry2966290 .

ToxicXGL, try booting it in safe mode. If that works uninstall the video card driver, then reboot.

If that works then update the graphics driver

A:Stuck at black loading screen after first installation restart

I'm afraid that I won't be much help - but I did have a similar problem with Windows To Go.
Waiting may work - mine took an awfully long time, but I had walked away from it and came back an hour or two later.

If it doesn't work, then try disconnecting all non-essential devices. Remove all devices plugged into the computer via USB/1394/eSATA/etc. Remove any cards that are plugged into the motherboard that you absolutely don't need. Use a generic mouse and keyboard if possible. In short, remove anything that you can that isn't a Microsoft OS component (even Microsoft video cameras, etc).

My sony vaio was on and I had AIM up, also with an away message. I had been away from my laptop for about an hour. When I came back my laptop was frozen. I tried task manager with no success. I ended up having to hold down the power button until it turned off. I waited a few minutes and tried powering it back on. It powers on fine, goes to the vaio screen and then gets stuck on the black windows xp screen with the loading bar right underneath, still moving. I tired turning it off and letting it sit for awhile. I tired taking the battery out and powering it with just the power cord. It does go into safe mode with no problems but I'm not too familiar with using safe mode. I'll take and try any suggestions. I'm pretty much lost without it right now. Thanks!

Run a hard drive diagnostic by downloading the appropriate utility from the hard drive manufacturer's website or try the hitachi drive fitness test.

A:Startup Stuck on "Microsoft Corporation" Loading Screen

Hi,

The fact that chkdsk failed (or appeared to fail) is quite disconcerting.  That would lend me to believe that the Hard Drive could be on its last leg.

You said the first thing you did was to back up your wanted files.  Good Idea.  I would double check to make sure you have backed up everything you need.

How much hard drive space is left available on this computer?

When you ran chkdsk previously did you run it within the windows command prompt ?

Or did you start the computer and choose safe mode command prompt?

I think for sure we would want to make sure your hard drive is healthy before we try much else.

Hi, a few hours ago I decided to install the hp updates, however it would not finish, so I had to turn off my computer by holding down the power button. When I had restarted it, it would be stuck at the loading screen continuously loading. So I try to load in safe mode, but It would not let me and would just freeze at "crcdisk.sys". I have browsed the internet for possible solutions, but none seem to have worked. I have also tried downloading a recovery dvd and burning it to a disk with my other computer, following the guide step by step, but I could never get to the normal vista screen, instead I would end up with the loading screen. One last thing I have to mention is that my computer has like literally 0% space left in the harddrive. Can anyone help? =(

A:Windows Vista stuck on loading screen(green bars)

One last thing I have to mention is that my computer has like literally 0% space left in the harddriveThat's the most likely reason, you can't boot. You'll need to slave the drive in another computer and remove some stuff.
