I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
The Z600 QuickSpecs indicates you can only have a single high end graphics card in the Z600. That is either one Quadro 4000 (142W) card or one Quadro 5000 (152W) card or one FirePro V7900 (<150W) card can be installed in the Z600. However, you can have two Quadro 2000 (62W) cards or two FirePro V5800 (74W) cards or two FirePro V5900 (<75W) cards in the system as this is supported (not that this will help with your graphics processing needs). The Z600 Maintenance and Services Guide also states you can have one 150W graphics card in either PCIe slot 2 or 4 (leaving the adjacent slot empty) OR you can have 2 75W graphics cards in PCIe slot 2 and 4. So SLI or crossfire is not a supported configuration with high end 3D cards due, in part to the 650W 80% efficient HP proprietary PSU used in the Z600 (which can't supply the needed power) and in part to the lack of system cooling validation for these more powerful 'heaters'. And as the HP PSU is a proprietary design, it is not a simple swap to an of the shelf standard ATX supply. Some cabling modifications would be needed and it still may not mechanically fit or work (as others have experienced no boot issues when attempting to use a modified standard ATX swap in their HP workstation - some have even damaged their system board so be warned). As for mixing cards in SLI configuration, IIRC, Nvidia allows mixing cards from the same family. So, presumably a Q4000 & Q5000 would work as would a GeForce 760 with a Titan, should the PSU have supported the load (which it doesn't). Mixing Q4000 with GeForce Titan in SLI configuration will fail as they would be considered a different family. And you can't use a Quadro driver with a GeForce card or a GeForce driver with Quadro card which creates a driver issue if you try such SLI mixes. So you may need to buy a more capable system (or do some development work to find a more powerful HP PSU you can fit into the Z600 or instead modify a standard ATX PSU to fit and resolve any issues this creates while also modifying the Z600 chassis cooling system to better cope with the extra heat). Good luck. [edited to add underlined text]http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/HP-Z600-graphic-card-upgrade/td-p/5054360

Bob, Correct Prefix of these processors is (x5650, x5660 and X5675) Model No Part No x5650 WG731AA x5660 WG732AA X5675 LB215AA I have also mentioned technical information below what these prefix's means, Letter Prefix:X = PerformanceE = Mainstream (rack mount)L = Power OptimizedW = Workstation for up to 2 processors per motherboard. The letters also refer to the power consumption figures of the CPUs in question. Note that the numbers associated with the letters are for the "Nehalem"-based Xeon family and older Xeons that use the letter designations have different TDP values associated with the letters. L = Thermal design power (expected power draw with a 100% CPU load running normal software) of 60 watts or less. These are the "low voltage" chips. E = TDP of 80 watts. Intel refers to the Xeon 5500/5600s with this letter prefix as the "basic" line and as a result, the idle power draw on these chips is frequently worse than any of the other series of chips, despite the other chips possibly having a higher full-load power draw. X = TDP of 95 watts. These are the "premium" mainstream chips as their TDP is not so excessive that they are difficult to cool in a rack server, yet their idle power consumption is far lower than the E-series chips. W = TDP of 130 watts and higher. These are the fastest, hottest Xeons made and they are designed to be used in workstations and pedestal servers with better cooling than an average 1U or 2U rack server. ========================================================Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.========================================================**Click the KUDOS star on the left to say 'Thanks'**http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-PCs-Workstations-and-Point-of-Sale-Systems/Z600-CPU-upgrade/td-p/5053635

I have ProLiant ML110 G6 I've bought Sapphire Radeon R7 250 2GB GDDR5 card. Before I buy, I've checked compatibility of my PCIe v2 x16 slot with PCIe v3 x16 card. I'ts compatible backwards so I can use v3 card in my v2 slot i MB. But When I was trying to install it I've noticed that on MB is inprinted PCIe x16 45W (I attached photo below). So can I use this card - in specification is given that consumption of this card is 70W. Can undervoltage break my G card? Maybe I should ure Riser with extra molex pin? x16 slot gives 45W and molex can give 35W = total 80W. What you thinkhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Graphic-Card-upgrade-use-70W-card-in-45W-socket/td-p/5678590
Would like to upgrade my graphics card and whatever else that is required . The PC has a Intel Core i5 2400, motherboard supports Intel Core i7-2xxx (Sandy Bridge) according to the original documentation. PC will be used predominantly for gaming and video; there are two monitors currently being used. Need a Long Term fix. Suggestions on my options? Or would be better to just upgrade to a newer PC? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Your PC is a slimline PC . They are notorious for being the worst candidates for upgrades. Your slimline PC was delivered with a 270 W PSU. Upgrading the PSU to 400 Watts is not a viable option. A PSU of 400 W or more that has six or 8 pin PCIe power connectors is a base requirement for gaming video cards If you want to Game with a desktop PC and a Video card capable of supporting 3 three or more displays, then it is time to get a full sized desktop PC.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Graphic-Card-Upgrade/td-p/5594877

You probably will not find a card classified for gaming under $100.
The GT 630 is definitely not a gaming card. You will need at least a GTX-550Ti or better but the 550/650 is considered to be at the bottom end of gaming graphics. Other than a general rating for graphics cards, it really depends on which games you plan on playing and if you want to max out game settings. Your best bet would be 560/660 arena. Price-wise that is around $150 and the Radeon HD 7800 series.
Could somebody please give me some advice,I would like to install a new graphics card and wondered what a compatible one would be for a GA-7VTX motherboard on a windows XP SP2 system. I know my system supports 4x mode & AGP 2.0 which is backwards compatible to 8x mode cards. I have at the moment a NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400. Preferably I would still like an Nvidia graphics card, only with more memory and DVI connection.
For a value you could go with a 6200GT, not to expensive but surely a huge improvement over your current card
Something like this, just for your info, I just did a quick search and there are many more options and price ranges for this card

My Graphic card memory is 64 mb .Can I replace it with another graphic card to upgrade it to play games and enjoy high levels of graphics ?
Hi: Unfortunately not. There are no graphics 'cards' in your notebook that can be removed and replaced like you can on a desktop PC. The GPU is a chip that is part of the motherboard, and the only way to upgrade the graphics would be to replace the entire motherboard with one listed in the service manual for your PC that has better graphics onboard. That would be very expensive and labor intensive to do.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Can-I-Upgrade-My-Graphic-Card/td-p/5718011

Hi: Since you are running W10 64 bit, I recommend you install 4 x 2 GB of PC2 6400 memory. Your PC can handle 8 GB of system memory. See the Q965 chipset specs below...max memory size... http://ark.intel.com/products/27732 You cannot upgrade the power supply so you are limited to whatever cards may work within that constraint. Probably a nvidia GT 610 or an AMD Radeon HD 6450 would be as much as you should install. Make sure you get the conroe E6700 and not the wolfdale E6700. http://ark.intel.com/products/27251/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-E6700-4M-Cache-2_66-GHz-1066-MHz-FSB Use this handy power supply calculator to see how much wattage power supply you need with your proposed upgrades. The basic tab should suffice. http://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator There are no optional CPU coolers that I know of. If there is no dust clogging the vents and heat sink fins, it is remotely possible that the thermal sensor in the processor is bad (it thinks the processor is too hot and then signals the cooling fan to rev up).http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Graphic-Card-Upgrade-Help/td-p/5790505

@edmondrj, welcome to the forum. You computer is old enough that I don't want to recommend a video card. It is difficult to know which ones will work. I suggest that you choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help with choosing the best card for your system. The sellers pay for shippuing the card to you, but you pay to return the card if it doesn't work. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/Graphic-card-upgrade/td-p/5850620
i have an nvidia geforce 880 gts 320 mb and would like to upgrade, but the figures quoted on cards is a bit confusing.
i have this mother board asus p5nd2 se
and want a card in the £150 range i have looked at the XFX GeForce 9600 GS Fatal1ty 768MB PCI-E Graphics Card whcih is pci express x 16, would i get much benefit from this.
That's isn't an upgrade. The 8800gts and 9600GS are in the same performance bracket for GeForce cards... 8800gt/gts640 320/9600GT/GSO - all about the same.
You may see 0~5fps faster or slower depending on the game.
Its a pretty old Mobo with very limited CPU support. Save more money for a future upgrade in a year or so.
I need to replace my video graphic card, I would like to play GTA V on my pc.
HP Pavilion Elite HPE-112y

I know graphic cards are all about $$ and that I will have to replace my power supply.
I would like to stay under $200 for the card and $100 for the power supply.
Well all I do on my computer is Skype and minecraft and on minecraft I get around 10-19 FPS nothing else I reset it and reinstalled windows nothing has worked so I'm wondering if there is a way to upgrade it cause my computer has hardly nothing on it
Here's the problem. The processor is an N3540 Pentium also known as a "Bay Trail" processor. These are lower end processors that are designed to be inexpensive. They are much less powerful than "normal" Intel processors like an i3 or i5. And then the motherboards are made all as one piece so there is no way to upgrade the processor. You could likely upgrade to 8 gigs of RAM but that is not really going to help the gaming performance much. So consider the laptop probably cost $300 or less and you can do Skype and email and internet. It is faster than a tablet, just not upgradeable in any meaningful way. They do run cool and have very good battery life.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Upgrade-graphic-card-or-anything-else/td-p/5138318

Also, would it help with performance? Because I have a video game, & when I turn on shadows it gets a little laggy.
NOTE:I'm very unfamiliar with these sorta things.
The question is almost a double negative, from what I know !!
To "upgrade a card", you can either hunt for a newer release of drivers, or beg / borrow / steal a newer card.
Since drivers are not usually upgraded on a regular basis, I would go another card ..........

I have a Thinkpad P50 laptop workstation. I use to work with Photoshop and I had several crashes even with lowest performance settings. I'm wondering if it's related to my graphic card (Nvidia Quadro m1000m) and how I can bypass this problem. Do I need to upgrade some stuff?
Are you running with BIOS set to "hybrid graphics" or "discrete graphics"?
Recognizing the impact on battery lifetime while running portable, I'd suggest using "discrete graphics" and installing the latest nVidia retail Quadro Series (notebook) driver rather than using the back-level driver provided in the Lenovo Optimus driver package (both Intel and NVidia) for the P50.
See if that improves your stability and performance results.

even if you did upgrade your graphics card you will most definitely need to up the ram as well, 265mb is nothing for a gaming pc, i suggest you remove it and add 1G of ram to your machine as well as the gfx card.
a pc that old can only take 1.5G of ram and i think its an apg slot for your gfx card.

There is probably no point buying parts for this Unit as the cost effective point is mute. Although I have seen new PCI graphics cards for sale (about $30AUS) there is argument that this is not any better than on board graphics in an old\second-hand laptop. Also there is the restriction of your RAM memory not being capable of much out-put, this would be a better place to make a noticeable difference to your problem although again this is probably not worth the spend.
You can in the meantime download and play some DOS Games like Doom here
I am looking to upgrade for the last time my Asus A8V Deluxe which has AGP and wanted to know what is the best card out there was. Thanks.
If you can find then any more it is s toss up between a HD 3850 and HD 4670, with the edge to the HD 4670 if for no other reason than it uses less power than the HD 3850. Doubt you can find a 3850 anywhere anymore and the 4670 is becoming rare as well (Newegg for example doesn't have them any more). If you decide to go for one check any local shops or try ebay.http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/137146-best-agp-graphic-card-out-there-upgrade.html

Yes, there are limitations based on which cards the BIOS will recognize and support. I suggest you search (above right) on "M58, graphics" to see what others have successfully used.https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkCentre-A-E-M-S-Series/M58-Graphic-card-upgrade/td-p/2019193

You can see my specs down below and so as said in the title, what do you think the best option would be?
Take in consideration that I mostly use my pc to play games like Dota 2 and csgo and other random steam games but the important fact is that I am eventually looking to play Overwatch and the new Battlefield which I think it would be too much for my gtx580 (overclocked 15%)
Budget 300? (~334$) max. 330-340 (~372$). Im searching to play such kind of games fluently but obviously not expecting to get a crazy amount of fps.
Hi I want to Upgrade Graphics card from NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 10.18.13.5382 to NVIDIA Quadro K620 2GB Graphics CardLow Profile bracketDP to DVI-D adapter i want to know this new graphic card fit to slot ( NVIDIA Quadro K620 2GB Graphics CardLow Profile bracket ) best regards Mo
It will fit. You don't need to use a low profile bracket. The original graphics card had a full size double wide slot bracket.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/Upgrade-Graphic-card/td-p/5701475

Hi. I'm looking to increase my video frame rate (primarily for gaming purposes), my system specs are for a HP Pavillion a1630n:
Should I purchase a new video card to up the frame rate and over all performance? Cost effectiveness would be great (under $200). I just purchased a 550w power supply, and it does have PCI express slots.
Thank you very much for any suggestions.
what games do you want to play?
for some games you need a better GPU than for other games.

Hello, I am sorry to come up again with the same topic, but the last is more than one year old. I have a H430 desktop 10091 model and I decided to upgrade the graphic card.I bought a Gigabyte GTX 750 Ti card, however, after installation, I see only the Lenovo screen and then a beep. I already upgraded the PSU to 500W one, so the juice is not the problem.Could you, please, recommend me, on how to upgrade the BIOS (ECKT25A) or what could I do?Or, is the H430 original motherboard, actually, compatible with such new graphic card, or should I consider upgrading the mobo as well? Hi everyone I know this tread was already answered in October but I have some not sure infos about upgrading graphic cards Now I have qosmio g - e with nvidia geforce with video memory Because this card is purely not enough for high end games today I wanna upgrade it at least to GB of video memory Like lots of people here I've tryed to find some info online but its just waste of time I've been asking in every PC shop in my upgrade - graphic G40 Qosmio card town about it and of them answered that it is possible but it will cost you as well They couldnt say exactly witch card should fit in but logically it will nvidia series which were used by Toshiba manufacter so what I will do I will find some nvidia card from younger model of Toshiba and will just try Qosmio G40 - graphic card upgrade to fit it Logically as Toshiba laptops chassy is nearly the same of course mounting and screws might be different but in the end its a project The only issue is motherboard I heard that motherboard might not accept some graphic cards If you have some infos about it please let me know Also coz of different stronger card there will be cooling problem so if you have some ideas to resolve heating please share this with me Thanks a lot adrian
I presume you know very well that upgrade possibilities on mobile units are very limited; especially GPU or CPU upgrade and notebook manufacturers don?t offer any kind of support. Due to specific design common problem for mobile units is cooling system. More performance means more heat and more heat means either hardware damage or notebook switch offs.
Notebook manufacturers don?t support this and don?t offer any kind info about it. In my opinion GPU upgrade is not a good idea. Ok you can do with your notebook whatever you want and play a bit but I?m afraid your project is too risky and will not end successfully.
If you need more powerful machine I think it is time for new notebook with more powerful hardware. What so you think.

Cheers for any info
The problem is that graphic card is an not upgradeable part. That means you can?t exchange it with another model because it?s fixed/soldered on mainboard and not exchangeable.
You can read about this here:

My laptop is hp g42 458tu notebook pc with intel hd graphics and i want to upgrade it to nvidia if i can upgrade it give me suggestions.
Unfortunately, this would require you to replace the entire motherboard and there may not even be a more powerful card available on a motherboard. It will be costly, time consuming, and you may also need to replace the power supply with a more powerful model. I do not suggest you perform this upgrade.http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-cards/303882-can-i-upgrade-my-laptop-graphic-card.html

I have NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400.
But I have problem when I run Nero Info Tool.
It says that my Graphic CARD and Graphic DRIVER required to upgrade.
I downloaded latest DRIVER for NVDIA Go 7400....and now it says in Nero Info Tool that my Graphic DRIVER is Good.
But my Graphic CARD still there's "upgrade required" message.
This is only 4months old Laptop. I don't know why i received this message regarding my graphic CARD?
I currently have ATI Radeon HD 5700 series (x2) on my computer and I'm thinking of upgrading one of them or both.
Now I'm not really familiar with graphics cards and hardware compatibility stuff and I would like to know if it's possible , for example, to replace one of my ATI 5700 with a more powerful graphic card like AMD HD 6970? Or would it be better to replace both graphic cards?
I would appreciate it if you gave me some suggestions of possible upgrades.
My budget is around $500-600.
If you wish to continue with Crossfire, you have to pair compatible cards. See the chart here:
Looks like you can't Crossfire a 6970 with any 57xx card.
With a $500+ budget, you could consider a 7950 or 7970. (Or a GTX 680, if you're willing to go over to team green.) I think that a single 7970 would give much better performance than a pair of 5770s, but I've not found a review.

If so whats the best graphic card and RAM mermory compatible with this model? Pls help..thank you. Here are the product specifications for the HP Pavilion p6717me Desktop PC. Based on the specs, there are 3 things that you could upgrade to improve your gaming (and overall) performance. I've listed them in the order recommended. 1. RAM Upgrade: Your unit shipped with 4GB of RAM so you should upgrade it to 8, 12, or 16 total (16 GB MAX). 2. GPU (video card) Upgrade: I would definitely recommend upgrading your GPU. You can get any PCI Express x16 card that will fit physically into the slot. The only limitation here is your power supply unit (PSU) only offering 300W of power. Most of the better graphics cards will require a minimum of 450-500W of power. The power supply is a standard ATX power supply so you should be able to upgrade it easily if you want to upgrade the video card. 3. CPU upgrade: Your unit shipped with an Intel i5 CPU and it could be upgraded to an i7 CPU. Models and information are listed in the specs link above.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Graphic-card-and-RAM-upgrade-compatiblity/td-p/5617852

Check with the manufacturer of the card. I suspect it's a UEFI VBIOS card, not Legacy. Your system only supports Legacy. An explaination by @old_geekster? can be found here.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Graphic-card-upgrade-from-geforce-530-to-740/td-p/5600550

So this Notebook has NVIDIA GeForce 830M (2 GB DDR3 dedicated) and i was wondering if I can upgrade the Graphic card to something else which is higer than this.. Is it possible? If yes can someone suggest which Graphic card should i upgrade it to..
Hi: There is no removable/replaceable graphics 'card' in your notebook like what can be done in a desktop PC. The only way to upgrade the graphics would be to replace the entire motherboard with one listed in the service manual for your specific model PC that may have better graphics. This would be a costly and labor intensive project.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-15-p210TX-Graphic-Card-Upgrade/td-p/5768127

If all is working well - leave it alone. The BIOS does not need an update based on what you added.
DO NOT go to Windows 8 - in my experience you will be better off to stay with W-7. Remember that Windows 10 is the replacement for W-8/8.1. Just my 2 cents.

I recently bought a Dell Mobile Precision M4700, with Intel® Core™ i7-3720QM Processor and a graphic card NVIDIA® Quadro® K1000M with 2GB GDDR3.
The graphic card is good enough for the applications I'm running right now, but I'm wondering if it will be possible to upgrade it in the future (K2000M or more ), because I'm planning to install new applications which may request a better video card.
No, it's not - the video chip is part of the mainboard and cannot be replaced (there is no socket for a separate video card).http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/t/19474944
Im a design student using this model, it was an all in one pc and I hope to upgrade it to the maximum that this pc can afford. or maybe can I extend it by using another CPU?

Hi, You can not change or update the graphics card, because the video chip Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD is soldered on the motherboard.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Did-i-can-upgrade-my-graphic-card-hp620-labtop/td-p/5739737
Hello, I would like to upgrade my computer to Windows 10. Unfortunately, the system test says that the graphics card is not compatible, therefore, I can't upgrade. I have the Nvidia Geforce 6150SE Nforce430. Are there any cards out there that would be compatible with my system and Windows 10? If not, is there a workaround that would allow me to upgrade to Windows 10? Thank you!

I have a Satellite Pro P300 and was wondering whether the CPU or Graphic card can be upgraded?
I really like my laptop but an upgrade is looming and before I take the plunge I just want to see if there any options other than a new laptop.
CPU and graphic card upgrade is not supported and there is no list with compatible CPUs. So everything happens on your own risk. In worst case a new CPU will not recognized from mainboard or BIOS, probably you need a new cooling module too so I wouldn?t do this?
Furthermore the graphic card is fixed on mainboard and cannot be exchanged.

Hi! I got a few years old HP EliteBook 8540w and I bought graphic card Radeon r9 270x. Is there any possible ways to connect the graphic card to my laptop? Tnx in advance!
Hi, Is this the one ? http://www.anandtech.com/show/7503/the-amd-radeon-r9-270x-270-review-feat-asus-his No way you can use desktop video card for laptop internally even the card in your laptop is replaceable (yes, your machine, not all laptops). If you wish to connect this card, please try a very hard way: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2984716/laptop-computers/how-to-transform-your-laptop-into-a-gaming-p... I'm getting a new computer and found one that does everything I need...BUT...its graphics capabilities are only mediocre. SO...I also purchased a spiffy high-end card. BUT..now I read that this card requires a big power supply, preferably something over 600watts and ideally 800 with the "rails" to run it. SO....is that true? And if so, how much power should I get? The computer has 300watts.
The card is a EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked 896MB and you can read the specs on the link to the page at TigerDirect where I got it. Please advise. Thanks!

Seasonic 620 watt M12-II 620 power supply from that list is high quality and will run any single video card.
You might not notice any difference if you went from 4 GB of RAM to 8 GB. I'd probably leave it at 4 unless you have some particular reason to need 8. Most people do not use all of 4 GB. You can look in Resource Monitor in Windows and see how much RAM you are using at any particular time.
I'm here to ask if is possible upgrade the graphic card of a Toshiba Qosmio x870 (13K model). I use it mostly for work (3D Work) when I'm out of office. When I had decided to disassemble it to clean all dust and changing thermal paste to reduce the heating - successfully, btw - I had notice that nVidia graphic card (gtx 650M) was pluged into a *MXM 3.0 type B* slot.
So I thought: "Is it possible to upgrade?!". I'm very interested to upgrade for a 770M or 870M, with more dedicated memory, of course. I had noticed the size, the format and also the poscion of the "slot screws" are the same relatively to newer cards.
Mobile machines are not upgradable like desktops. GPU upgrade is definitely not supported and I?m 99,9% sure it cannot be done.
Due to specific design and limited cooling possibilities such upgrade cannot be done.
Some basic info about CPU or GPU you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm
hi all i write this post becouse i realy suprised yesterday... My pavilon 15-ab291sa is 3months new and when i start use Ashampoo Movie Studio Pro 2 to create and build my movies my laptop stop working... Graphic card is realy low, and i thinking to add one more and that is the qyeston, can i add 1 more good graphic card to my laptop ???
robcioslaw Sorry to say this, but you're operating under a misunderstanding, as laptops to do not have customer-replaceable graphics "cards". Instead, they have a graphics processor (GPU) that is soldered to the system board which also contain the CPU chip. While these are sometimes replaceable, that involves sending the PC to an HP Service Center and paying a LOT of money to have it disassembled, have the system board replaced, and have it reassembled -- typically considerably more money than simply buying a more powerful laptop. So basically, it is not practical to upgrade the graphics on a laptop. Hello. I have a HP Pavillion 15 Notebook PC product number: J1X37EA#AB9 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.60GHz, RAM: 12,0 GB, Windows 10 64-bits and in what comes to graphics i have Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 and a NVidia GeForce 840M. I believe my intel graphic card is integrated in the board but the Nvidia one can be upgraded. Am I wrong or can I really upgrade my graphics card?
Hi, Unfortunately the Nvidia chip is integrated and not an upgradeable component - this is the case for most consumer class notebooks. Regards, DP-Khttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Can-I-upgrade-my-graphic-card-in-my-HP-Pavillion-15-Notebook/td-p/5843097

HiI want to upgrade graphic card in my hp pavilion g6 laptop
No there is no video card slot to add anything in. We would need your model number to see if there is any motherboard replacement with better video but that rarely makes any economic sense.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/I-want-to-upgrade-graphic-card-in-my-go-pavilion-g6-core-i3/td-p/5704708

Hello, we have a Dell Dim 3000. I read an article that says that you cannot upgrade the integrated graphic card because the motherboard has no AGP or PCI-e slot. Is this true or is there a way to upgrade the graphics?
Hello and welcome to Techspot.
While it is true your computer doesn`t have AGP or pci-e slots, it does have 3 pci slots.
So, a pci graphics card upgrade is possible and would be far better than your current onboard graphics chip.
Take a look at this excellent thread HERE.

hi firt of m new at this website so if m in some wrong topic or wrong thing sorry fo tht.
secondly i got a toshiba satlite pro l300
1.9 core 2 duo
64 bit ATI card
120 hard disk
i want to know if i can upgrade my hard disk and vedio card
Please let me know...and rough guesses how much would it cost me as i live in UK
Yes you can upgrade it but the prices will depend on what you want to put on it, how much Hard Disk space and what Video Card. Also if you are asking for a technician or agency to do it you may need to pay a suplus so it will be difficult to give you the exact amount.
Hello everyone. I asked on reddit and did some research and finally found out that I couldn't upgrade my laptop's video card the traditional way. However, someone suggested that I use the eGPU but told me to check if my laptop would support it. I would also like to know the possible repercussions of this installation (someone said that I may have to remove my laptop's wireless functionality.) Thanks in advance.http://community.acer.com/t5/V-and-VN-Series-Laptops/Acer-Aspire-V3-772G-graphic-card-upgrade/td-p/461695
Hi!I have HP EliteBook 8460p (Core i5/500GB/4GB RAM/Intel 3000) and I was wondering if I can upgrade it's graphic card and Video Card?I would also like to know that can I upgrade my CPU to i7?Thanks.
The CPU can be upgraded.See the following image. Upgrading the graphics solution depends on whether you have the base model with UMA graphics or one with discrete graphics. If you have the base model (UMA) with the Intel graphics only, then the answer is no. Check in the Device Manager to see which graphics solution is available, unless you already happen to know.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Graphic-and-Video-Card-Upgrade-for-EliteBook-8460p/td-p/4554542
Hi. I currently have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE-315be with a nvidia geforce GT320 and I would like to upgrade it for the new models of graphic cards such as GTX900 series. Is it possible in terms of the size to fit the Case, energy supply and so on? If no, are there better graphic cards that may be an option or since it's OEM it is a brand new desktop?I'm keen on changing the graphic card because since the windows 10, when I play some video games the computer crashs and reboots for no aparent reason (I'm assuming it is the graphic card). The Protege 4000 is compatible with PC133 modules! As far as I know you can upgrade this notebook's RAM to 1GB (1024MB) and you could use these modules;
PC133 512MB (PA3108U-1M51)
PC133 256MB (PA3086U-1M25)
PC133 128MB (PA3085U-1M12)
> Am considering alternative options to XP, namely 98SE or 2000 as these are lighter operating systems. I can put this on an alternative (test) disk. Is it possible to set up a partition for the Recovery CD Rom (which has 98SE) on it and have some space left over for installing another Linux o/s or does its partition manager overwrite everything?
You could create some partitions on the HDD using an 3rd party tool like Partitions Magic 8. I use this tool and it's really nice.
After you have created 2 or three partitions on the HDD, you could install different OS (operating systems.)
