I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey there, after looking at the Toshiba website, I feel like you are making an error in the model number as I could'nt find that one. You can go to the link below and try searching your model number. Once you find your laptop, click on Drivers & Updates from the list on the left select your desired OS. If Windows 8.1 is not there, you should go with the ones for Windows 7.

Official Toshiba Support | Toshiba

Secondly, can you tell me which drivers you exactly need? Because Windows 8.1 comes packed with most of the drivers needed. In my case, everything worked except that I had to install the graphics drivers to get OpenGL2.0 support.

Cheers!

So I downgraded from Vista to Xp home basic because I didn't like the way vista worked. Unfortunately something went wrong when I used my Xp boot disc and now I am missing the following devices:
Ethernet Controller
PCI Device
PCI Simple Communications Controller
SM Bus Controller
Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

Please help if you can, I have looked through countless forums and downloaded about 20 files already and I still haven't fixed anything.

A:Downgraded from Windows Vista to Windows XP Home Basic now I have missing drivers

First thing that needs to be clarified here, when you say "now I'm missing the following" what type of missing are we talking about here? Are the devices and such present inside your device manager and all that is missing here is their drivers? Or when you open up the device manager, all the above and stated hardware is gone? If this is a driver issue the fix or fixes could be relatively manageable. But if this is a case that nothing is there and indeed these devices aren't showing up with anything inside Windows, but you know they are there and still nothing, that might be a manageable thing to deal with, with the end result being perhaps a wipe of the disk and starting over from scratch. Maybe Windows didn't find these items when it was being installed for whatever reason or reasons. If you decide to install the O.S. again, I would first go into your computers BIOS and just with your own eye's, confirm the presence of these items, for if they are in BIOS and register fine, than they should translate over to Windows being able to find them as well. And while you are inside BIOS, doesn't hurt to make sure that nothing is switched off, just make sure all these items your talking about are activated or just active through BIOS and you should be fine.

If I go in "Sign in options", there are various functionality (Windows Hello, Password, PIN, Privacy) but there is not "Require sing-in" with the ability to choose whether to sign in after standby or not.
Can I enable this feature through another way (for example through Group Policy or regedit)?

Hi Everyone, I have a T510 which I have just upgraded to Window 10.  I have installed the 'Lenovo Settings' app and the other various components it prompted me to install and the app itself functions fine. However, I am wanting to set the battery charge level to 50% to conserve my battery lifespan, but I can't find where to do this.  I understand that it is normally under the battery option in Lenovo Settings and is now called 'Conservation Mode'.  Unforunately this option does not appear in this location on my laptop. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can resolve this issue? Thanks, Sam.

A:Missing drivers for Windows 7

Hi -

Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor --> http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...e-advisor.aspx

Windows 7 does have legacy drivers it will install to get through installation. However, often these mobo drivers do need to be updated or BSODs may occur. Your hardware must be fully compatible with Windows 7.

Here is the listing from Windows 7 Compatibility Center --> http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...0SLI&os=32-bit

Be sure to select x86 or x64.

Welcome to the forum,

Base system device is usually cured with the chipset driver.

I only see a Vista chipset available on ASUS,

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download M51Vr

It should install, but you may need to use Compatibility Mode

That should let everything get recognized. We can point out the other drivers after that.

The STK770D is a TV tuner I believe.

After you install that chipset, follow this tutorial,

System Information File - Create in Windows

Then we can see what is going on.

examine the disk for smudges, scratches etc.. if the disk is clean it could still be defective. OR it could be that the optical drive you are using for the install is defective.

In device manager double click on the ethernet adapter, click the driver tab, click update driver, then the hardware update wizard should come up. Click not this time for the internet seach, then on the next page click from a specific location, then browse for the file you saved on the memory stick. That should do it.

I wiped out my computer and reinstalled windows 7 home premium 64-bit on my HP A7A75UA Laptop and
Now it's saying I'm missing the drivers for "HP NetServer 10/100TX PCI LAN Adapter" under the category "Network adapters" and under "other devices" It says I'm missing "Network Controller" and "PCI Device", I don't know exactly what the actual drivers I need to download are but also I cannot connect to the Internet on my laptop without those drivers and I've tried "update driver" but it doesn't work can anyone give me the links to where I can download the drivers please?

Hi all

I have tried to find these myself on the interenet but it all seems to be trial or just so confusing I have no idea what I am doing. I am hoping someone can help.

I did a clean reinstall of windows xp prof SP2 and everything is ok but the drivers for the following things are missing.

AMD Athlon XP 2400+

Ethernet connection driver
Multi Audio Contoller driver and
SM bus controller.

I know the ethernet is important as I cannot connect to the internet on my pc anymore lol. Can someone please point me in the right direction

Thank you

I bought a refurbished HP 6200 SFF computer in order to revive my old Nikon LS8000-ED film scanner that requires FireWire.  I also bought a FireWire card and installed it in the computer.  After spending many days trying to get the FireWire working with several iterations of drivers and Windows 10 adjustments, I bought Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I have now loaded Windows 7 several times, with varying sources of .iso file, and I have no network or FireWire capability. In fact, device manager shows listed under "Other Devices": a) Ethernet Controller; PCI Serial Port; c) PCI Simple Communications Controller; d) SM Bus Controller.  Each of these devices also shows a yellow triangle symbol with the exclamation mark in it and no driver for it.

So what should I try next?  I've been ALL over the internet looking for clues but most sites want to sell me something I do not need.

Thanks in advance...

Right click each device with a Yellow exclamation mark. Select Properties. Under the Details tab select Hardware IDs in the dropdown box. Copy and post the first line for each device into your next post. HP's support site has a number of Ethernet drivers and posting the Hardware IDs will help.

The Hardware details from the Device Manager are

I also need a Multimedia Audio Controller Driver, for which the details are PCI\VEN_1039&DEV_7012&SUBSYS_020FA0A0&REV_A0

Even though the CD is not available, you might try going to Dell's site to download the drivers.

Another possibility is to find out the manufacturer of the sound card and network card and download from their site.

Any help would be great.

A:Asus X202E - Missing Windows 10 Drivers?

Hello and Welcome to TenForums!

If Asus have not provided drivers for your model on Windows 10 it does not mean that it will not work, just that they will not support you. If you feel comfortable experimenting you could try the upgrade and see if the W8.1 drivers still work in W10 - this is true for many of the older systems but I cannot guarantee it will work for you. Obviously if you do have a go make sure you backup all your files and create a system image and recovery disk so that you can get back to your current working system. There are a number of tutorials on Windows 8 forums that can help you with this.

A:Missing windows drivers on computer boot up

You can try copying these folders from a working machine and paste them into the hard drive. You will need to remove it and plug it in as a slave drive or external first. The pci.sys is a generic XP driver so it shouldn't matter about different hardware drivers. Once you have done this reconnect the Hard drive to the PC and Boot.

Other way maybe, is you could attempt to boot using safe mode - Press F8 after BIOS post and attempt a system restore.

Possible causes of this is most often a Windows Update either installed wrong or MS updating your system drivers using generic releases.

This is a long shot, a straw-grasp on my part: have you tried booting rescue DVD or USB stick and running Startup Repair? I'm hoping it would sniff out that the Drivers directory is missing and reinstate it. I'm sure you have already clicked un-hide folders & files from within Folder Options.
Tweaking.com's Windows Repair (All in One), accept default clicks, add items #26 & 27 -- might be your first and best bet.
And, you're not using any 3rd party DriversUpdateManager, correct?
Before doing much more than the above: please make sure you have restorable image backups just in case.

I have an HP Pavilion G7 Notebook PC that was loaded with Windows 8 - unfortunately the hard drive died on the system and I only have a licensed copy of Windows 7. I replaced the hard drive and I installed Windows 7 on the machine and am now in need of the Windows 7 drivers for my HP Pavilion G7 Notebook PC. I have searched the HP website for the drives and have found several posts concerning this issue. My questions are two fold. The drivers I am missing are for USB 3.0 support I believe, the hardware identifies the manufacturer as ELAN SMBus.PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E31&SUBSYS_1845103C&REV_04PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1E22&SUBSYS_1845103C&REV_04 These were identified by device manager. 1) Can I get an ISO file of Windows 8 recovery for the G7.2) If not - can I get the drivers for Windows 7. Thanks in advance for your support.

SM Bus is part of the Chipset, so you'll need to install the Intel Chipset Driver which is available on the Intel website. Or you could use the Chipset driver from another Toshiba model, such as the Satellite P200.

PCI Memory Controller is the Robson Card I think. Its not compatible with XP, so just disable it in Device Manager.

A:Windows 7 7264 Build - CD/DVD Drivers Missing?

It really isn't a driver problem. For some reasons many have had this problem, and have had to do some form of work around to get win 7 loaded. The same problem happened with mine, thus after several attempts I tried loading it from Vista and it worked. Basically you run Windows 7 as if you were loading a regular applications; then just follow the on screne instrustment. One thing you will want to watch for is during the restart the computer will attempt to run the setup disk unless you go into the bios/cmos and set your startup to the disk drive containing Win 7.

Hello, Have installed Windows 7 on my Windows 8 laptop, everything is perfect except I'm missing 2 drivers in Device Manager apparently, anyone know what these might be?  The first missing driver is the Ethernet Controller These are the hardware id's PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_188F103C&REV_05PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_188F103CPCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_020000PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_0200 Next is ''Unknown Device'' ACPI\HPQ0004*HPQ0004 Both of these are under Other Devices And also was it okay for me to download the AMD Graphics Driver straight from AMD Website or do I need to download it from HP (Couldn't find a driver for my Radeon HD 7340) on here. Thanks

Hi I clean installed Windows on my HP Pavilion DV - C DX laptop using these guides SSD HDD Optimize for Windows Reinstallation Clean Install Windows I noticed when I was installing Windows I never had a screen pop up step asking about my network location type After Windows was installed my laptop couldn't find any networks regardless if I tried plugging an ethernet cord from my modem into my laptop When I click troubleshoot it says quot Install a driver for your network adapter quot I click next it says quot Windows could not find a driver for your network adapter quot I look in my Device Manager I see under Other Devices it lists Ethernet Controller Network Controller PCI Device SM Bus Controller Universal Serial Bus USB Controller Universal Serial Bus USB Controller Unknown Device and Unknown Device all with yellow exclamation marks next to them My Googlefu skills told me that when clean installing windows it only installs generic drivers and I need to install the drivers on my motherboard disk The problem is my laptop 7, installed multiple drivers Clean missing. Windows didn't come with any such disk I tried going on HP's website on another computer and burning all the network drivers onto a blank Clean installed Windows 7, multiple drivers missing. DVD can't use a USB since those drivers are not working When Clean installed Windows 7, multiple drivers missing. I installed them nothing really happened I usually like to figure this stuff out by myself but I've ran out of ideas

A:Clean installed Windows 7, multiple drivers missing.

You are on the right track, going to the website. You probly didn`t put the network drivers on the disc properly. Just get the network driver, don`t worry about the others. You can fix those once you get online.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...t=5210863#N360

Save the driver downloads to the desktop of the pc you are using, then copy them to a cd, don`t burn them, and they should work fine. You only need the 1 to start with. Your realtek LAN ethernet driver. ( bottom of the network list )

Once you get online, you can use windows update. When you`re done, if you have still have drivers missing, then go back to the website.

Very odd your usb won`t work.

Hi Kiatambari, welcome to Ten Forums. It looks like you have two different problems. For the right click problem, first try running the SFC command. This is from the Tutorial Forum. SFC Command - Run in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums.

For the driver issue have you tried updating the driver using Device Manager ( +X click on device manager). Try double clicking on speakers and in the driver tab click on update driver. Also after installing windows you need to check for software updates on the apple side ( I'll just mention this because it is easy to forget to do.)

Hello all, I have a client laptop that I performed a fresh install of Windows 8.1 on. The install worked fine, unfortunately some drivers are missing that I assume were vendor (HP) specific. Currently the laptop can connect to the Internet wirelessly, but a wired Ethernet connection is "unidentified" and "limited." One of the listed unidentified drivers must be networking-specific, unfortunately all the networking drivers on HP's driver page have to do with wireless connectivity. I took a screenshot of the unidentified devices from Device Manager, hopefully a member of the HP community can help identify what the drivers are and how to find them. The laptop is an HP 15-f010wm Notebook PC  Thank you

I earlier on used WinUtilities to delete duplicate files on my computer to free up space, and it deleted nvgts.sys from system32 >.< I turned my computer off, then a couple of hours later wanted to go back on it and got the following error in BIOS:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: system32/DRIVERS/nvgts.sys
I later learned that this was a Graphics Driver from nVidia, and that it was needed to run the computer.
I have been searching for hours now, unable to get access to a recovery/reinstallation disk or make one of my own.
I set a recovery point before this happened but don't think I can access this in BIOS.
What else can I do now?!
Thanks for any help, much appreciated.
I am on Windows XP by the way

Not sure if this is the right board to post in - apologies if it isn't I could't find one more relevant? We're running the HP CIK (Client Integration Kit) with SCCM 2012 R2 and it works great! Unforunately, we're missing some drivers for a couple of older but key models in our environment: -HP Elitebook 8530w-HP Elitebook 8540w I am able to find the drivers under Windows 7 32 bit in the CIK, but not under the 64-bit section. I know 64-bit drivers are available from HP because they can be downloaded using SSM. It would be nice if they were availbable in CIK though. Am I missing anything here?

my problem as follows:

I start the PC, as soon as I see my desktop the PC kind of "hangs" for 5-10 seconds, nothing is happening, task manager reports NO CPU/HDD usage and then it continues to load the normal start up programs, display color correction files etc. I took a look into the event log and it says something about it missing drivers, but I have no idea what the devices are. Maybe you guys can help me out? I appreciate any tip! Thank you!

Hey guys, my hardrive burnt up so I went to a computer repair shop to see if He could check it out, when we were 100% it was done for he had a blank laptop hard drive he could sell me with a burnt windows 7 disk or charge 75$ extra to install it for me. I of course took the blank HD with the installation disk and went home and started it, but when I started the installation I got to the part where it requires drivers but it didn't find any on the disk.

My question is, since I'm going to have to get drivers, can I use a flashdrive to install the drivers? And if so, do I have to format the flashdrive or anything so it will read the drivers?

The laptop itself is a...

I downloaded the graphics and audio drivers, along with the wifi one, but are there any that it absolutely has to have in order to work? I've read elsewhere about a chipset driver, but I cannot find it on the HP website.

Once I get it started i'll be using public wifi to get the rest of the drivers as well via auto update im assuming, or I can just download the rest as i see fit.

Hello,
I recently upgraded my Sony Vaio VGN-AR71S laptop to Windows 7.
All went well apart from two issues.
My memory card slots no longer show under 'My Computer' and nothing is recognised when I insert a memory card into the slot.
..and secondly
My built in web cam no longer works (although the mic does)
Under device manager I have one yellow exclamation mark next to a USB device which I believe is my web cam and another under an unrecognised device which maybe my memory card slots.

I have tried the Sony support site and done a search on the web but so far I haven't found any drivers or solutions to my problem.

I appreciate any help or advice you can give

Hi and welcome.

Have you tried the HP site? Have you googled for example your model + drivers?

How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

Hi, duncod2, welcome to BC!Try performing a Repair Install of Windows XP. This will reinstall Windows without erasing any of your data. You will, however, need to reinstall most programs.

Hi, Everyone this is my 1st post, I had been reading Sevenforums before i actually join it. Eversince then i got most of my doubt solve.

I just bought a Sony Vaio Y series come with Windows 7 Starter.

I got a bad deal form Malaysia giving windows 7 stater and 320gb hd, whereas S'pore giving Windows 7 home premiun and 500hd. Anyway i like the design and portability of this model.

I got a Year Warranty, But i'm wanted to upgrade it to Win7 Ent. and also wanted to upgrade my ram to 4GB max. my existing one is 2GB. but i afraid this would void the warranty.

Let get my question i wanted to update to Win7 Ent with out and not keeping my starter. but i afraid of driver issue, i plan to boot by USB setup.

Any advice?

A:Install Windows 7 Enterprise on Netbook Replacing Windows 7 Starter

Yeah -- warranty advice can only properly come from the warranty holder (despite what others here may tell you). So, you need to check with Sony support to see if performing such a Win7 upgrade will compromise your warranty in any way. My guess would be that it would not -- but (like everyone else posting here) -- that is only a guess.

We purchased a VLK with Software Assurance from a local distributor here my question is what if from their VLSC License the Operating System listed are

10 Windows 7 Professional
82 Windows 8 Enterprise
15 Windows 7 Enterprise

We don't want to install Windows 8 as of now to our office and we wanted to retain the Windows 7 Pro and Enterprise as our Operating System. Do we have a problem for Activation if we still insists to used Windows 7 Pro and Enterprise Operating System using the Windows 8 Enterprise 82 Licenses?

Thank you very much

A:Activation Windows 8 Enterprise VLK but wanted to install Windows 7Ent

There is no way you can use a Windows 8 Enterprise licence for anything else than Windows 8 Enterprise. You simply can not activate Windows with a product key belonging to another Windows version and edition.

With those licences you can install and activate 27 25 Windows 7, not a single more.

Hi all,

I've got lots of photos on my Vista machine & would like to know if they'd still be there after upgrading. I've previously upgraded a Win7 machine using the auto upgrade feature which was impressive but I read that it won't work for Win8. Is there anything in particular I should watch out for?
