Preferred Solution: My computer lags a semingly random intevals i.e after restart / or 2 days later.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: My computer lags a semingly random intevals i.e after restart / or 2 days later.

System restore to before the problem occurred? Only solution I can think of.

A:BSOD Semingly random BSODs Arma2/crome

Welcome hosolon to the forum, I had a look at your files and there are a few things that may be causing the problem here:

First pleas update you network driver:

Code:
NETwNs64 Sun May 01 17:33:01 2011 (4dbdd18d) 0083e505 None NETwNs64.sys
you can find updates for it here:

Intel Download Center

next please uninstall Daemon tools it is a known causer of BSODs, once it is uninstalled download and run this tool:

DuplexSecure

when the tool runs if the uninstall button is grayed out then your done and you can close the window, if not then please cluck it and let the tool run. DO NOT click the install button it will install a driver that is known to cause BSODs.

Last please update your video card driver it is very old:

A:computer lags at start up - will restart saying it has recovered from a serious error

Hi,

Please do the following:

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

* IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:
Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
Notes:
1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.

A:Computer Lags And Restarts At Random

Hello mickeymontes and welcome to the BC HijackThis forum. I do not see any signs of viruses or malware in the log. There are a couple of housekeeping entries that we can remove that do not have any files associated with them so let's do that while you are here.Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {F5881F8D-DD85-4663-B157-9A008A0AA045} - (no file)Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair. For non-malware related performance issues I suggest posting a question in the XP forum here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/56/windows-xp-home-and-professional/ . They can help analyze the system to determine what, if anything, might be causing poor performance. Let them know that you have been to this forum and that no malware was found.Cheers.OT

Hi -

Did you purchase the system as-is from retail store or did you/other build it?

If non-retail purchase -
1. Is ALL hardware brand new?
2. Is Windows 7 x64 a full retail copy?
3. Is Windows 7 x64 the 1st and only OS to run on the system?
4. Have you activated/ validated the Windows installation --> www.microsoft.com/genuine

Are ALL Windows Updates in --> www.update.microsoft.com

Any BSODs?

Regards. . .

A:running autocad after restart and still lags

There might be a slight hardware issue or a resource error. We will start with a hardware issue investigation.Check the hardware compatibility list and then post back in your next reply if your hardware is/is not listed and compatible for AutoCAD 2009.Video CardAfter you check that and it is listed, then make sure your Graphics card is up to date.

I'm using a friends laptop, and I was looking at a friends photos on myspace when randomly i got a blue screen from windows. It restarted the computer pretty quickly and i had very little time to read it. I think i saw error with file and dumping physical memory..

It restarted fine, but I got this screen before with a computer that I had never used and it ended with the computer restarting and getting disk read error and not working at all, so Im very worried.

All I have for info is the error report which I've attached an image of.

Should I be worried?!
Please Help. I'm scared of even using the computer now.. :/

Hi guys. I'm not to experienced with computers and software/hardware but hopefully you can help me out. (A friend recommended me here). My computer recently started crashing and the problem windows is saying it is is ''Blue Screen''. I've tried to restore it to a earlier time using System restore but that doesn't work.

The first problem is that when I play World of Warcraft and switch between WoW and Desktop that my computer will sometimes (Randomly) crash in the process of switching which all it shows is a black screen but i can still hear the sound. The second problem is that, again when im switching between wow and the desktop that it will just (Randomly) restart itself.

Hope i posted in the correct section ^^

Hello and welcome. Please follow these guidelines while we work on your PC:Malware removal is a sometimes lengthy and tedious process. Please stick with the thread until I’ve given you the “All clear.” Absence of symptoms does not mean your machine is clean! Please do not run any scans or install/uninstall any applications without being directed to do so.Please note that the forum is very busy and if I don't hear from you within five days this thread will be closed. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.Press Scan button. It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply. The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Hey, I have an odd gaming issue I just noticed the past couple days. I have my computer hooked up to a standard 22' lcd monitor, and a 37' HDTV. Often I clone my monitor to my TV and use a 360 controller to play games on it such as Assasin's creed and Bioshock through steam. I noticed that after around 20-30 minutes of play using just the controller the HDTV and Monitor will turn black, and it resolves itself when i move the mouse of the computer. Initially I thought it was the screen saver or hard disk shutting off or standby, so i disabled all those and it still occurs. It doesnt however occur when I use the mouse/keyboard to play the same games. It also occurs when i am just using the computer monitor and the 360 controller. Any ideas what could be causing this?

A:Odd and semingly unique gaming problem

I don't really understand but I'll throw some ideas around nonetheless

Sometimes, I have played with my display properties and if I choose the option to have my desktop on both displays (22" LCD MOnitor + Std TV), my 22" LCD goes black and the desktop only shows on my TV.

Now, seing as to you are capable of playing for at least 20 mins, I don't think your problem is what I stated above but, worth a check anyways.

While I am at it, I would check temps, video drivers, re install video drivers even if you did it recently, they tend to get corrupted easily (at least for me) and I would also check Monitor Drivers, I have issues when my monitor doesn't have dedicated 64bit drivers and uses the Std or Generic Drivers.

Is it a Windows Update restart notice like the one in the tutorial below? We did have a few updates this week that required a restart to finish. If not, what does the pop-up say?

Has been happening on and off for the last couple of months, strangely enough the problem went away once after we had a power surge but has now returned, Usually get at least 1 a day at a random time ( Maybe a game, maybe on youtube, maybe just right clicking a folder )

Took a photo of it last time and got this error code,

*** STOP: 0x0000001e (0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000)

After a bit of searching this forum i found i should also post a dump log from C:\Windows\Minidump ... When trying this i keep getting an access is denied message but i have admin privileges ?

Should also add that i have read about faulty drivers/ software and ran software to "fix" the problems yet i still get the BSOD.

Will try and get the dump log on for my next reply but any ideas straight off the bat ? Seems to be quite a common problem.

Anthony

Looking at your PC spec: Newegg.com - HP AMD Dual-Core Processor 4GB DDR3 500GB HDD Capacity Desktop PC Windows 8 110-014 (H5P35AA#ABA)
Unfortunately, your PC is not that powerful.
There are few reasons that cause lag/delay/skip:
Your video is too big. While watching, You are running multiple tasks such as Anti Virus, Windows Updates running in the background, Disk defragmentation etc...Your HD is connected via USB port.Your integrated Video card cannot handle the streaming.

Hi So lags lags, Asus laptop lags, I'm running Windows on a Asus K E with a bit operating system and GB of RAM I've had it for close to years and can't really afford to get a new one at the moment Right now I'm having an Asus laptop lags, lags, lags issue where the laptop isn't running as smooth as I feel that it could It's really noticeable when I stream any audio or especially video content anywhere online something I do all of the time The audio will stutter and glitch creating kind of a dub-step sound effect It's been happening for months though it used to only happen if it wasn't plugged in or if it'd been on for too long etc Now it happens very frequently sometimes once every other minute if not more and nothing I've tried updating the audio drivers and taking better care of it in general has helped I haven't Asus laptop lags, lags, lags really been able to find much help online though last night I downloaded a latency checker and saw repeated huge spikes in latency Asus laptop lags, lags, lags while streaming soccer matches and content from Netflix I tried disabling and re-enabling various devices as the program recommended but haven't been able to isolate any potentially faulty drivers What was interesting however is that I realized that these latency spikes weren't just occurring while content was streaming but as I preformed other functions on my computer as well mostly answering emails for my job The whole system runs pretty laggy in general I'm realizing now Is there anything I can do I'm really out of ideas and would appreciate the hell out of any help anyone could offer Thank you so much in advance

Hey guys im posting on behalf of my brother who gets frustrated and just wants to give up Basically what was happening was during game play his PC would randomly shut off It got worse as time progressed more fequent restarts and then not even being able to power the system up Now he has been getting a message after the post screen saying Windows did not start up please choose from a start up option somethingto to trying restart/Restart windows after Random load that extent then you can choose from safe mode or regular start up The problem here is that you cant select anything no keyboard Random restart/Restart after trying to load windows response and then windows automatically tries to load windows load screen and then a BSOD appears very briefly Random restart/Restart after trying to load windows and the system restarts Originally I thought his problem was cooling with the random restarts But then it started restarting after about a minute that the PC was on So I thought a dieing PSU But the windows restarting has got me thinking a bad hard drive or something as an extra bonus to bad power cooling This was a PC purchased from Ibuypower about years ago I hate that company with a passion nbsp

Dear All I bought Thinkpad Edge E almost two weeks ago The problem is it randomly lags and stutter without reason For example I was writing documents on Microsoft Word plays music on Lags, Latenc... Thinkpad Edge Stuttering, E440 Random foobar and doing some light browsing only few tabs but randomly the music lags for - seconds It doesn't skip it lags or stutter sorry I don't know the right term Also sometime it took Thinkpad Edge E440 Random Lags, Stuttering, Latenc... awhile to open a new tab on firefox nbsp web browser nbsp while usually it took instantly Another example is I play two online games World of Tanks WoT in short a tank simulation game and Ghost Recon Phantoms a shooting game When I play both game the gameplay went smooth but randomly it lags or stutter like second on more then it went smooth again and then stutter again The game doesn't became slow which is called FPS drop if I am not wrong the display just stop moving and mouse keyboard become unresponsive during the lag stutter period On the other hand I also played WoT on my Pentium PC and it went smooth without any lags though of course the settings is inferior to my E laptop Ghost Recon Phantoms can't be played on my Pentium so I won't compare it nbsp Also sometimes the audio sounds 'spiky' nbsp As I searched online people said that this is called related to Latency problem and I should use LatencyMon to check it After using LatencyMon I found several 'culprits' which causes big latency such as NDIS sys ACPI sys ATAPORT sys storport sys etc I also tried to disable Thinkpad Edge E440 Random Lags, Stuttering, Latenc... cpu throttling power management settings and such but the problem doesn't go away nbsp I am sure that there is something wrong with my hardware because if its caused by settings such as cpu throttling power management which I think is software-related then won't this happen to everybody I mean I asked a fellow E user and he said that his laptop is fine and my problems doesn't occur on him nbsp I have phoned Lenovo Customer Service I was using Windows Ultimate At first they told me to do clean reinstall and install the drivers in the order the CS give me I did clean reinstall times to try different driver and program installation sequence to see if I might find a way to fix my problem but I found no solution I tried Lenovo CS driver install order on the last clean reinstall I even tried running LatencyMon after clean reinstall before installing any drivers or updates but the LatencyMon still reports big 'unhealthy' latency Lenovo CS then told me to do hardware scan on Lenovo Solution Center There are warning on the Nvidia GT M stress test but the CS told me that the results are good His last solution is that I should go to a Lenovo Service Center to check for the problem there nbsp I moved to Windows to see if the problem will be solved but too bad it's not I have ran hardware scan for times there are two nbsp times or times I forgot that there is warning on Harddisk SMART short self-test times warning on Nvidia GT M stress test one time scan finished with no warning Even so the end result for all the nbsp tests nbsp is 'Passed' nbsp I think the problem lies within my harddisk or something related to data transfer since when I browse my local drive in windows explorer sometimes it took a long time for the icons to load but sometime it just loads instantly And I am not sure what that Nvidia stress test warning has to do with nbsp Also I only use the stock GB Ram Could this related to the problem Though when I look at Windows Task Manager the memory usage rarely goes above nbsp Last but not least I plug a wireless mouse on my laptop which I use mostly for playing games but in the end I switches between mouse-touchpad-mouse and so on during working too Sometime my touchpad suddenly went unresponsive for few seconds but my mouse is still usable during that moment nbsp Then nbsp after I move my wireless mouse my touchpad become responsive again nbsp... Hallo Tahta, i have the same problem with my E440 (in Germany it's named S440) The touchpad lags sometimes for 1-2 seconds or stutter a little bit. I am using Debian on this Laptop. So it can't be a driver issue on Windows. I have changed the sensitivity of the touchpad and it did become a little bit better. The laptop has Core i5-4210, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. Greets Sebastian

Hi Firstly apologies if this has been solved elsewhere on this forum as my searches didn t return any results I am currently running Vista Home Premium -bit and am having no major issues barring one I have a Gb Seagate external USB harddrive and often powers down into sleep mode when not active It has a less than speedy wake up time but this is negated by lags external causing Random hard-drive system sleeping waking up USB of the fact that I use it purely for storage In Vista however the drive is woken out of the sleep mode at the most seemingly random times causing a system delay while it waits for the drive to wake up before the task can be completed These range from clicking on the start button opening up Thunderbird mail or even when a notifier sound is to be played when a contact comes online in MSN The external drive is used purely for storing things and nothing is directly run referenced off that drive that would require it to wake up before allowing simple tasks to be completed The External Seagate is set to run in Optimised for Quick Removal when viewing the Policies tab on this drive in Device Manager When right-clicking the drive in Windows Random waking up of sleeping external USB hard-drive causing system lags Explorer and selecting Properties then Hardware and selecting the Properties of the Seagate External USB drive Random waking up of sleeping external USB hard-drive causing system lags the Policies tab indicates it as Optimised for Performance and the entire screen is greyed out i e changing of select boxes is disabled ReadyBoost settings states that this device does not have the required perfomance characteristics to be used and the checkbox to stop retesting the device is ticked If anyone else has either experienced this or have any ideas as to what I could try I would greatly appreciate it Thanks in advance Christopher nbsp

Hello,

I have a computer that has been getting random BSOD's this week. The user does NOT have admin access on the computer, so she can't install anything without getting permission. this computer is part of a AD domain (SBS 2011 AD controller)

I ran the BSOD tool twice and I attached the corresponding zip files.

Please let me know if I need to provide anything else and your help is greatly appreciated it.

Thanks!

A:Several random BSOD the last several days

If the used does not have admin access to the computer, it might be difficult to troubleshoot the issue.

Uninstall McAfee Security Scan Plus. It is not anything installed intentionally, but a side effect of careless update to Adobe flash player or adobe reader.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Let us know the situation after doing these two. Further troubleshooting will be needed depending on the situation.

Edit: Uninstall Kaspersky using Kaspersky Removal Tool. At least as a test. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors. How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

A:Random BSOD every 1-2 days

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

Quote:
A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress

Some generic advice.

If you are overclocking STOP. Return to the default settings at least for now.
If you are running a RAID update its driver.

Memory corruption caused by a driver. Please run these two tests
Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program.

Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

A:Need Help - Random BSOD's in last 2 days!

You have an HP SLIC key installed on an ASUS retail motherboard. I am afraid your installation is not genuine. Non-Genuine Windows contains security leaks and also cannot be properly updated which may result in instabilities and blue screen crashes. If you were not aware that your Windows was Non-Genuine, contact your seller or the company that provided the seller and file a complaint. Also let Microsoft know of the problem: Protect Yourself from Piracy

I am sorry, but due to forum rules, we may not assist you further until you have installed a genuine version of Windows. To put the genuine Windows on, I strongly suggest you backup any important data, format your hard disk, and reinstall Windows 7 to make sure all remnants are removed of the software that you used to make Windows work before. If you do not clean re-install, you may be left with a compromised system and your identity, bank accounts, credit card information, etc. may continue to be at risk as they are now. Once you install a genuine version:Please download and run the MGADiag tool. When it finishes, hit the copy button, and paste in your next post with [code]<MGADiag info>[/code] surrounding the MGADiag info.

A little about the PC - It's mainly used as a Plex server and I also run a VM off the box using VMware workstation 11. The PC has 2 oboard NICs one I use specifically for the VM machine, the other I use for everything else. I believe the BSOD has something to do with the Intel NIC. I've tried updating/reinstalling Drivers. I could really use some help figuring this out as the PC is not rebooting after BSOD's even though I've checked the settings and they're set to restart after system failure.

A:Random BSOD's for the last few days.

According to a couple of the recent dumps driver verifier has detected the driver 000.fcl as causing the crash which is part of Cyberlink software
Try uninstalling this software to see if it helps the situation but the dumps are quite varied so may be a bit trial and error on this one

There are also a couple dumps pointing at possible memory issues so would be wise to run memtest86+ on the ram overnight
RAM - Test with Memtest86+ test for a minimum of 8 passes

A:Random BSOD's over the last few days

Hi, I too would like to complain but the catch is I just bought my laptop yesterday and in a brand new state. When I multi-tasked, BSOD occured. It also occured when I try to install games, play downloaded games and sometimes out of the blue. In a day I've had within 8 BSOD errors. I still do not know what is causing it. Should I reinstall Windows 7?

Go to Start/Run and type appwiz.cpl and press enter. Make sure there is no HP software remaining. Do a Search include Hidden Files for all HP software and delete all files it finds. Download CCleaner analyze the drive and remove all the temp files it finds. Run the Registry scan too. Download Malwarebytes run a full scan and delete all items it finds. Do another Check Disk, go to Start/Run and type chkdsk C: /R and press enter. Now type a Y and reboot the system. Go to Start/Run and type dfrg.msc and press enter. Do another Defrag,

I don't know if it's relevant but recently I had two-days-in-a-row power outage in my area. Despite that, my PC is protected by a decent UPS so i was able to shut it down in time.

In this last two days, i have two times BSOD at random time. But never when i play game. My PC is always on, so it had this BSOD while it was idle (I wasn't in front of my PC at that time). I took a picture from my first BSOD, and also the diagnosis.

Please help, thank you.

As Title says the BSOD occured while i was NOT at the PC, and it had been on for about 20-30 days without a reboot.

Now this shouldn't really cause a BSOD either way which makes me wonder what the problem is, i can't really get it by looking at the dump file, so here i am hoping that someone have any idea what it can be.

As said above, it was random, i was not there, and i wasn't doing anything special like using hardware etc, it as pretty much having internet browsers on and being at desktop with a media player on but paused.

A:Crash occured Random when not used, was on for 20+ days.

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

Is there any particular reason that you haven't upgraded to Win8.1? I ask in case you had problems trying. Please don't upgrade to 8.1 while we're troubleshooting as it can introduce more issues and complicate the analysis.

One lone memory dump doesn't often provide enough info for a firm diagnosis. Also, a single memory dump will often fix itself (with Windows Updates). Please ensure that you have all available Windows Updates (it may take several trips to get all of them).

If you're overclocking, please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

Processor may be overclocked!
Expected Frequency: 2800
Actual Frequency: 4013
Overclock Ratio: 1.43321

Test to see if removing the overclock stops the BSOD's. Overclocks may degrade over time - as the hardware ages more rapidly under the additional stress of the overclock.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings
Also, please run these free diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Since you have been having BSOD's since February and have been in several threads there must be something in common between all of them.

IF YOU ARE OVERCLOCKING STOP. Reset anything you have changed back to default. If you changed the hardware revert back to the original configuration,
In this current round of BSOD's (since sept) you have a driver that has been verified (4 times) as the cause of these crashes and it MUST be removed.
It is Related to dtsoftbus01.sys Virtual Bus Driver from DT Soft Ltd. Any software by DT SOFT (like daemon tools, etc) has to be removed.

Let us know if the crashes are still present after its removal.

Hello Djjeesh66, welcome to SF!

I'm missing some of the files in the upload, mainly msinfo32...

But, your last two dumps are clear: bugcheck 124:

Quote:
Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.

You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

As you can see in the link provided, some of the steps are a bit technical. No idea how much technical stuff you are comfortable with.... so please only try things you really understand.
This is a hardware issue somewhere, we can help with tests to identify... but the thing is 5 yrs old... don't be surprised if you have some trouble there....

We do not recommend automated driver update software. It often finds drivers for devices similar to but not exactly the same as the hardware actually on the system. This can lead to conflicts and blue screen crashes. If you need help finding driver updates for a certain device, please start a thread in Drivers - Windows 7 Forums instead of using software. Driver updates are not always necessary and some updates can actually decrease system stability rather than increase it, so it is usually better not to update unless a device or its driver is causing problems with the system. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

AMD Overdrive provides software overclocking for the system. It is known to cause instability because software overclocking is an unreliable method for overclocking hardware. Please remove the software.

The ASUS update utility can cause problems since its drivers are older. Recommend removing it.

MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner is known to cause instability with systems. Please remove the software.
Crashes have a variety of BugChecks and probable causes including software/driver/software overclocking issues. The above should be dealt with first to rule it out.

Hi -

The BSOD crash info posted shows the bugcheck -

0xc2 (0x7,,,) = bad pool caller = thread attempted to free memory that was already freed

I see ntfs.sys mentioned = potential HDD issue

- Run chkdsk /r
- Run HDD Diagnostics - http://www.techsupportforum.com/2828431-post7.html

- Remove Daemon Tools. The driver sptd.sys is known to cause BSODs.

If BSODs persist after the above steps completed, run the Driver Verifier -

For the last month I have been experiencing seemingly random BSODs every few days.
Initially I thought the Comodo Dragon browser was the cause, however the last two have occurred while the browser was closed.
The last two referenced a Bad Pool Caller and a Bad Pool Header respectively.

Any help in solving this would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Hello,

I'm going to post two different scenarios that happens when my computer needs a hard restart
My computer freezes completely (literally no movement on the screen or anything, it's not slow it's frozen). And an extremely loud buzzing sound comes out of my headphones or speakers. The same thing as above except without the loud buzzing noise.

I saw that this happened to someone else who had both the speakers and the headphones plugged in at the same time. However, scenario #2 just happened to me 10 minutes ago even though I only had my headphones plugged in.

I built this computer six months ago and it's the first computer I've ever built. I assume it's a driver issue but I can't really pinpoint the problem since no BSOD appears on the screen and I have no higher computer knowledge.

I'm attaching the zip file required.

Thanks,

A:Random Computer Freezing - Need to hard restart after freezing No BSOD

Wow, this sounds like the same thing that happened to a friend of mine when his hard drive was failing. Replaced the drive and the freezes went away. Even the buzzing noise.

Also you may need to look at what drivers you may have just install/updated.

Hoping you don't have any failing hardware "Motherboard, video card, etc". Those are expensive

Hi,

You guys have always been of great assistance in the past, especially when I had a major problem.

Now I have two.

When I start up my computer, go into windows, it takes a while to load then I get bsod and it restarts then works perfect, so now if I run it cold, I reset it immediately after switching it on, then it works. WTF?!

Plus now, it has started getting really slow and it lags. What can I do?

Please tell me whatever info you need, and where I can find it for you. I will be completely cooperative and appreciative.

look forward to hearing from you.

I really tried to be patient, but man.
It started out as a BSOD every few days or so, but now it's getting more and more frequent.

There's all kinds of BSODs, Kernel data inpage error, page default error, and so on. I've lost count on how many kinds I've went through. I even sent it in for warranty repair once, and it doesn't do anything at all. The trip to the nearest Acer Support Center will take me half a day, and I really just can't take it.

I'm at a loss. I leave it to you guys.

Oh, and the model of the laptop is Acer V3 571G 736B4G1T.
When I ran BlueScreenView, it seems that ndis.sys and ntoskrnl.sys show some sources of error.

I'm having an issue with my laptop, Dell Latitude E6420 where I keep getting random BSOD, mostly in every 3-4 hours. Sometimes the machine just freezes and needs restarting. I'm not sure what is causing the issues. Please find attached my DM Log Collector.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you roll back the display driver to an earlier version that worked good there?

Also, stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark. Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us.

Let us know the results.

A:BSOD over past few days at random times

This is the second Starcraft2 issue I've seen today - I wonder if there's an issue with the beta? I'd check their forums to see if it's the problem.

BUT there is a driver on your system that's known to cause BSOD's - so I'd suggest that you replace the ASACPI.SYS driver (dated from 2005) with the most recent one available for your system from the Asus website ( ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt ). It'll be listed under the Utilities section and is known as the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Win7 32&64-bit" .

The memory dump points to a memory corruption as the issue - so I'd try this free memory test just to rule that out: Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link).

More info on the STOP 0x7E error here: BSOD Index (Please note the "Usual causes" listed at the top of that section).

Beyond that, I'd wait and see if there were further BSOD's. If so, post the memory dump files and we'll move on from there.

A:Random BSOD 3 days after factory restore

All three errors are 0x8E and these are almost always caused by hardware and this error is a strong indicator of corrupted memory. Sometimes, however, they can be caused by faulty drivers.

One simply cited a Windows driver as the probable cause and they are usually too general to be of much help.

The other two cited Pool_Corruption as your problem which means the driver pool has been corrupted.

One specifically cited the drivers Savrt.sys (Symantec Antivirus Autoprotect) and NavEx15.sys (Symantec Antivirus Engine) as unable to load. Here is the problem: You have already uninstalled Symantec/Norton.

First, we have seen quite a few people have issues with Symantec. There are better solutions.

Second, Symantec is notorious for leaving remnants of itself behind even if you uninstall it. The issue is so prevelent that Symantec had to create a special Removal Tool for every one of its versions in order to make sure it was fully cleaned from a system. This is to be used after the intial uninstall.

So, go to their website. Find the Removal Tool for the version you had uninstalled and use it.

Keep in mind, if you have installed a different antivirus the old Symantec drivers will conflict with your current antivirus and thus cause system crashes.

Here is the Rule: One antivirus, one firewall, and one antispyware running as real time protection.

This is a 2 year old machine that has been running well. I can't think of anything major that is new other than installing Office 2013 about 2 weeks ago. Typically BSOD occurs when I'm away from the machine rather than during specific activity. Not seeing other error messages and no performance issues.

Help is truly appreciated.

Thank you

Morning.
I have a windows 7 Pro machine 64 bit. I am getting BSOD very random. Last week it happened in the middle of using Excel and this week it did it some time during the night while idle. It is a random problem, it may go for days with no issue then do it a few times back to back. I have also downloaded the Forum tool and have attached the file. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Random BSOD during work and idle. Days apart.

Just a few thoughts on some tests that might help pin down the problem, I'm going to go ahead and have you try running Memtest86+ for at least 8 passes (Tip: do it overnight)
also i would like you to run a
Code:
chkdsk /f /r
run this from an elevated command prompt, to open an elevated command prompt you open the start menu type cmd into the search box and then right click on cmd and select run as administrator if a prompt appears click yes.
next run an
Code:
sfc /scannow
again run this from an elevated command prompt.

The last thing i would like you to do is Enable Driver Verifierdo not be allarmed this will cause BSODs but it is meant to do that as it helps identify drivers that may be functioning impropperly and causing your BSODs

WARNING: If you can not boot normally after enabling Driver Verifier boot into Safe Mode and then Disable Driver verifier

At no particular interval the wifi in my laptop turns off. I found that if I go into device manager disable and then re-enable it, it fixes it, but I end up doing this every other day and it really annoys me. Since I first noticed the problem, I have reinstalled windows ( for various other reasons ) multiple times, but the problem still exists. Is it a hard ware problem?

I've had no issues with my desktop from the time it was built until the last couple of days. Now I'm getting random BSOD pretty regularly. So far this is what I've done to try to resolve the problem, but nothing's worked out.
Updated video card driver
Ran Windows Memory Checker on Start Up
Ran Windows Error Checking on Hard Drive

The BSOD's are usually DRIVER_IRQL_LESS_NOT_EQUAL, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, ataport.sys.

After looking at your mini, its a hardware issue.

Have you overclocked your cpu?

Have you installed any new hardware?

Have you tried running memtest?

How hot does your CPU get?

It sounds like a failing hard drive, what kind of HDD do you own.

Hi,
I built the Ivy Bridge machine described in my system specs a couple of weeks ago, and all went well except that I am getting BSOD?s every few days 5 in all.
Bluescreen view shows them as MEMORY_MANAGEMENT from ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0 or Ntfs.sys+a4990 though there is one IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL also from ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0.
No obvious causes that I can see though they often happen in Firefox.
I have:-
Run memtest - all shows as good.
Run sfc /verifyonly no problems
Run Crystal Disk Info which shows Good on all 3 drives
Run the Check Drive for errors (from the drive properties)
So I am throwing myself on your mercy, and hoping you can point me at any further tests I should try.
I attach the zip as described in your howto (I hope).
Thanks in advance for whatever help you can provide.

A:BSOD on New Win7 x64 - ntoskrnl.exe+7f1c0 - random ~ every few days.

These crashes were caused by memory management probably a driver.
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have a Raid update its Driver.

Memtest. If you havent run memtest for 6-8 passes please run it again, if you have start with driver verifier

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5-7 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Driver Verifier

Quote:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition.
Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is.
But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver.
Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows.
If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation"IRP Logging and Force Pending I/O Requests. and click "Next"
NOTE: You can use Low Resource Simulation if you'd like.
From my limited experimentation it makes the BSOD's come faster.
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

If you are using win 8 add these
- Concurrency Stress Test
- DDI compliance checking
Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen.
Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly.
The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.
If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.
Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.
If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Thanks to JCGriff2 & Usasma.

So I started playing TF again recently so I've been using my brother's Xornet mouse However since I started using it it would occasionally just stop working Also I've been getting BSOD screens that say quot BUGCODE USB DRIVER quot I didn't have enough time to write down all the other information on that screen but I changed the settings so it doesn't automatically restart so I should have them if it happens again The BSODs seem to happen at completely random times except for one thing they are always preceded by random quot USB unplug noises quot i e BSOD at random for BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER past times days, 2 the quot da-dun quot sound that you hear when you unplug a USB device These noises can start happening up to minutes before the BSOD and they seem to happen at random times anywhere from seconds to minutes apart I followed some advice from another forum that said to uninstall your USB drivers reboot and allow windows to reinstall them I did and BSOD at random times for past 2 days, BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER everything seemed to be going fine for awhile but after using my mouse for a couple of minutes it started happening again and I got the BSOD I don't know if the mouse is the cause or just coincidence This seems to happen whether or not I have USB devices plugged in Dump file attached

A:BSOD at random times for past 2 days, BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER

Oh snap: As soon as I posted this, windows popped up these windows (see attached pic). I currently have no devices plugged in to any USB ports.

I have no idea what any of this means.

Hello Sevenforums,
lately wife's rig has been suffering from random BSODs, we can be having a 2 hours session of cod and when she is on desktop it crashes, or it would happen mid game.. it's just random.

Also When i get those BSODs PC goes into a cold boot loop, it's like when i press the power button CPU fan spins then stops then spins then stops

I loaded the dump files and below are her rig's specs.

CPU: intel i5 4430
Mobo:Asrock H78 pro 4
GPU: Sapphire 7870 XT
Ram: G.Skill Aries 8GB
Cooling: Corsair H80
OS: Windows 7 ultimate
PSU: Corsair 650TX

I would be so glad for the help i would get here.. sorry for having this as a first post. but it's so annoying when women are grumpy.. my life has been sad in the past 4 days

Quite unusually a couple of weeks ago my pc seezed up and totally went down. and a consequence I reinstalled windows, hence i had nothing left, started again from scratch if you like. But now ever since every program I run doesnt seem to run smoothly, it like it jumps.....Is this lagging? Doesnt run slower or have any pro, it just quite annoying.Im running SP2 i think!

Also I forgot to mntion on system reboot I lost all my sound and now it says my sound device is not installed.....hows this????

A:Computer.....Lags.....?

Are you running 256 of ram?
How big and how old is the power supply, and what are the specs of the machine?
edit
You need to enter your device manager and check for yellow alerts.
control panel>system>hardware>device manager
click view then click show hidden devices

You might need to install your chipset drivers from the motherboard disk

So i decided to overclock my computer it was running fine until it randomly started to crash, so right away i reset it back to normal. Then suddenly a few days after my computer had problems loading xp, and then started to lag like mad. Even on start up it lags, games are no longer playable due to 1 digit fps, and even the net is choppy. (all actions executed lag or are choppy). It also freezes for seconds at a time and crashes on occasion(bluescreen)

So in short i just want to know how to fix it, ive read through some forums but i cant find the answer im looking for.

Everything has been running slow lately, typing takes forever and opening up browsers, tabs, programs, and folders take ages. It isn't silky smooth like it should be. I've ran MSE probably 4 times today and it says there are no issues, but I don't believe it.

A:Computer lags

Trying running CCleaner and removing temporary files of your computer. Also maybe try freeing up more space on your computer. If you have too much files on your computer, it may lag quite a bit.

My laptop recently has had problems. No matter how many applications are open or how much memory is being used, it lags suddenly for a few seconds at a time. The mouse stops functioning and if music is playing it stops. Also I noticed it doesnt type IM's on AIM well when it lags. Rarely it will fix itself and return to normal speed but sometimes i have to give a good whack on the lower panel (near the mouse area), which surprisingly fixed the problem. But this problem keeps coming back. I need help. If I need to do the hijackthis, panda scan, etc. would someone please remind me how to do so?? Thanks.

I have seen multiple question and answers in forum regarding this GPO to Delete User Profiles Older than a Specified
Number of Days on System Restart not working or some hotfixes, in my environment it is working on all required systems in one OU. But in some PCs it is not deleting the parent folder and some folder under appdata.
like c:\Users\DomainUser\Appdata\local\abc\efg\
so the profile data like my documents, pictures, desktop etc are deleted but folder structure "\DomainUser\Appdata\local\abc\efg\" in efg folder is empty, which creating confusion during Audit and physical check.

I have to update my Vaio Update software (version 3) to version 4. The instructions on the Sony website say:

1. Download the file to a temporary or download directory (Please note this directory for reference later).
2. Uninstall the existing VAIO Update and restart the unit.
3. After the unit has restarted, please go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click EP0000162589.exe.
4. Follow the instructions displayed in the installation wizard.
5. After installation is completed, please restart the computer.

All is clear to me, except that I don't know whether "unit" is another word for "computer", or something different altogether...? If they mean the same thing, then the same word should be used. Anyway, I don't know whether I have to reboot my computer after removing Vaio Update 3 or whether I can install version 4 directly after removing version 3. Sorry if this sounds silly.

Sorry, I don't know why I didn't saw this thread before.
You can discover what program gets all of CPU resources.
When task manager is run, select process tab and sort the list to CPU usage.(Click on "CPU" column).
Then you could found which software is wasting CPU resources.
