I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable

Wat email application are you using? Windows Mail, Microsoft Outlook, Thyunderbird, etc.? Has it been configured for your email account? That message usually means there's a problem with your client's setup and less often by an actual problem with the server.

Hi all,

I have the above system set up on 13gig partition. Thier is only 8% free space left.

Normally I just clear out the event logs and recoup enough space to keep running comfortably, but not this time.

All user data is in on a different partion. Is 13g just not enogh room for exchange and the server software or is something else clogging up the system???

Any help greatfully accepted.

Does anyone here know how to detele mass emails from a users exchange 2007 mailbox without actually doing this using the outlook client or web outlook?

In other words anyone know if this is possible using the exchange managment console or exchange power shell??

I dont want to export a mailbox or move messages. i just want to be able to delete messages with certain words in the subject line.

Thanks in Advance

Look up the Exchange Management Wizard (ExMerge). It still works with Exchange 2007, but you can't install it on the Exchange server itself.

That will do what you want.

You can also do it with the Exchange Management Shell (PowerShell) but I haven't looked up how because ExMerge does what I need.

Is there a shortcut to the Microsoft Exchange Server properties within Outlook 2003?

Usually have to go through TOOLS - OPTIONS - MAIL SETUP - "View or change existing e-mails accounts" - click "change" on next screen - then click on Next settings - THEN I am on the Microsoft Exchange Server settings....

Any easier way to get to this screen?

thanks !

A:Shortcut To Client Microsoft Exchange Server Properties?

Try going to the Mail applet via the Control Panel.

Start >> Control Panel >> Mail

That should bring up the Mail Setup - MS Exchange Settings applet. From there you have the choices to access the E-mail Accounts, Data Files, and Profiles applets.

I am able to download Exchange 2007 through the MSDN Academic Alliance for testing purposes. I am allowed to burn it to DVD for future use.

But unlike most applications that are provided as .iso image files, the entire download is offered as individual files and folders. I can create an .iso. But I also like to keep true by using the proper disk image label. For example Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise is E3EVOLENG.

Does anyone know the proper disk labels (names) for the various flavors of Exchange 2007? Searches turn up nothing.

there are two different domains in one forest ,
in the first one hosting the active directary account for user profiles to use in the PC's

and the other domain host's the same user names but for the exchange.

users use both of them , but they are in different domains.
but if the user changes password for example for the AD account , the same user's password does not change in the other domain for exchange because it is a different object in the different domain.

Is it possible to equalize password field when there is a change in one of them , or something to centralize the password management.

I think it should be already done in the industry, because it is a need for the companies who use different hosts for the normal AD accounts and the Exchange accounts.

Exchange Full Package Enterprise edition, does not have this size limitation. Therefore, it will not hit that cap off and dismount.

Here is information on how to know what version you are running, as no where in the MMC of Exchange, does it give you a version.

Hey guys,

Thanks everyone!

A:Solved: Exchange database fix Windows8

Уes.. U can restore it.
- Click the Windows "Start" button on your Backup Exec server. Click "All Programs," then click "Symantec." Click "Backup Exec Console" to open the main backup console.
- Right-click the Exchange server in the list of backup servers. Select "New" then "Restore Job." A new window opens with several configuration options.
- Click the "View by Resource" tab. Click a date to view a list of mailboxes. Check the mailbox you want to restore from the list
- Click the "Microsoft Exchange Redirection" on the left panel. In the center detail pane, check the option labeled "Redirect Exchange Sets." In the "Restore to" text box, type your Exchange server name where you want to restore the files.
- Click "Restore" to start the process. This may take several minutes, depending on the size of the mailbox that needs restoration.

I think it can help you. But if it useless try Exchange Server Fix Toolbox

The machine went a bit screwy over the weekend and was stuck on a reboot screen when they came in this morning. Everything but exchange came right on a hard reboot.

The EMC tells me that "Mailbox Database" is dismounted.

My Exchange 2003 database is already over 16GB, and must do the offline defragment as soon as possible. Just search the info from Microsoft, but don't have much detail on this. So please help. Thanks.

1. Do I need to stop the 'MS Exchange Information Store', 'MS Exchange Management', 'MS Exchange MTA Stacks', and 'MS Exchange System Attendant' services before I dismount the mailbox store?

2. Is this command correct to run the defragmentation utility on the mailbox store database with a backup? The command is:
eseutil /d c:\progra~1\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb /b d:\exchbkup\priv1.edb
(p.s. there is a space after /b)

3. The total size of c: drive is 50GB, and have 30GB free space, so it should be enough to perform the offline defragmentation. Is that right?

4. For the 16GB size database, how long will it take to complete the offline defragmentation? 3 hours? 4 hours? 5 hours?

Please feel free to comment. Thanks.

A:Exchange 2003 database offline defragmentation

You will have to stop the server and related services before defragmenting because the files in use cannot be defragmented. Its better to go in for any of the third party applications rather than Windows Disk defragmenter as they are much faster and once set they defragment whenever needed automatically in the background. This will save you the trouble of manually checking and scheduling the job each time. Generally 25% free Disk space is required for defrag. The specialized defragmenters available are anyday better than the built-in.

The above config will nat to You can't static NAT an entire IP to the same as a global (your interface). You can only do this if you NAT specific ports.

The above config will allow internet to reach via TCP 80/443/25. I can only assume you're using ISA for EFE server, and maybe proxy. (Not an ISA fan)

The above config allows your ISA server carte-blanche access. In essence, it's a DMZ by name only. Don't fool yourself.

Don't use conduits, they're deprecated.

Don't use a firewall to permit "any" to your ISA server, actually use it to block inbound ports.

Also, your ISA server shouldn't/can't have two NIC's in the same subnet. That's a bad idea on 10 different levels. IF you're using your ISA server (blech) as EFE / reverse proxy for OWA, and outbound proxy - you might as well keep it on the same subnet as your Exchange server (inside, I'm assuming.) Again, 10 different reasons why it's a flawed security plan.

If this is simply an EFE server or reverse proxy, make sure you don't keep the ISA server part of any AD domain, stick it in the DMZ, and restrict what hosts it's allowed to see on the network that you're trying to protect.

What do you mean by "alone file"?

And right click on a .mds file , Properties, General, and next to "type of file" click on CHANGE.

And then scroll to the desired program you want to associate the file with and then that program will open those files.

A recent cumulative update for Exchange 2016 was intended to add support for Windows Server 2016. But, after numerous reported issues, Microsoft has acknowledged a problem exists.

According to the release notes?

If you attempt to run Microsoft Exchange 2016 CU3 on Windows Server 2016, you will experience errors in the IIS host process W3WP.exe. There is no workaround at this time. You should postpone deployment of Exchange 2016 CU3 on Windows Server 2016 until a supported fix is available.

Once again, Microsoft?s testing of its own patches seems to have taken a backseat to accelerated release deadlines.

Hello all,
Is there an easy way to tell if I am using MS Exchange server for my companies mail service? To make a long story short my boss has asked me to see if I could set up for him to share his calendar but apparently we must be using the above service. We are using Office '97 with Outlook '97 as our email application.

A:MS Exchange server?

Most obvious way would be to check what is running on the server, otherwise check your settings in outlook and see if you receive/send mail from pop3/smtp or if Exchange Server is listed.

Not sure if this is the right place... but I was reading up on microsoft exchange server.

What I want to know is that if I have this running on a windows server 2003 machine would this mean that I would be able to run my own e-mails...

I think I would have to get a Domain Name to get the .com at the end. But if I were to be rich someday and sheel out the money would this mean that I could run an e-mail host for me and my friends kinda thing...

A:Exchange Server

It sure does.

Not that I would be bright enough to walk you through it or anything, but you definitely could create your own email domain.

We were running 5 Windows 2000 computers on a Peer-to-Peer Network Group. Recently, we installed Windows NT Server and Exchange Server 5.0 on another computer so that we could share our calendars in Outlook. Now that we have NT and Exchange installed, we need to know how to move our calendars in Outlook to the Server computer. Any help would be great! Thank you!

A:Exchange Server 5.0

Do you have the users now connected to Exchange? If so, you should be able to open the local PST files containing the local calendars then drag the local calendars to a public folder (which would be on the Exchange Server).

I need to know if it is possible to access my ISP email address through Exchange over the web.

I can check my ISP email address with Outlook...can I do the same with Exchange???

A:Exchange Server OWA

No, but you can set up your email client to download your messages. It will only download it if they are set up as a forwarder on their servers to yours.

I'm trying to find a solution to sync all of my outlook data (calendars, tasks etc) between my main comp, htc and eee pc running windows.

I have the chance to use a full exchange server 2007 or 2010 license. They are legitimate copies.

How easy would this be to set up at home?

Any help is appreciated.

A client has asked me to give them a quote to set up an exchange server and five client computers. Four of the desktops have windows xp home. The network they have was not planned it was an accident. LoL Anyways I am thinking of building the server myself and have built my own server. I used SBS 2003 standard. They also want to implement Outlook business contacts manager. I think their business will quickly need more licenses for the server. Do you have any hardware suggestions and and pricing guildlines to quote them with? Do they need winxp pro on all the desktops? They mostly would like to use outlooks exchange and calendar features. I would want there to be a mirrored raid but am unsure how big the hard drives should be. I have done fine with two 80 gig hard drives. Any ideas would be appreciated.

What is the bad reason behind SQL server corruption and how can I resolve it after MDF files corruption.? i want read about more information about this SQL sever corruption and how to fix errors and recover MDF files.

A:Bad reason of SQL server database corruption and how can fix...

There are many reasons that will cause SQL Server database corruptions, including: 1. Hardware failure, such as disk failure, power interruption, etc.2. Software problems, such as defections in SQL Server itself, malware, virus, etc.3. Human misoperations. When SQL Server corruptions occurs, then the possible solutions are based on the situation: 1. If the corruption is not severe, then you can use the SQL Server build-in command DBCC CheckDB to correct the errors. See 2. If the corruption is severe, then you may try some third party tools such as DataNumen SQL Recovery to scan and recover the data from your corrupted MDF and NDF database files. Good luck!

Hi all,

We have system for our work that uses a web/application server and a database server. Around 150 people use this application and the data stored are usually text, ms office documents, pdf files and images. Suppose that about 50 people are using the system at any given time, what do you think will need better hardware specs, the database server or the web/application server?

Could you give any recommendations for the hardware specs? Like cpu, ram? A friend of mine suggested that it would be good to use the nVidia Tesla GPU for parallel processing. Is this a good idea or is this going a bit overboard?

Hi, I currently host a dedicated Exchange server at, and I have no issues with it, but I am looking to host a backup server at a second data center and have the two server replicate either multimaster or master-slave with the esecuredata server being the master and the new server being a slave. I have two questions:

1. What software would I need to implement to have the new backup server automatically update itself from the master server?

2. Can anyone recommend a good dedicated exchange server provider for my proposed backup server? Ideally it would be outside North America for redundancy. I can spend up to $100/month.

Thanks in advance.

I have just recently deployed a new exchange server 2003 on a domain controller running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition R2. Everything was working well until I setup the VPN server. Now clients have to open and close Outlook several times before it will connect them to the exchange server. It will eventually allow them to connect to the exchange server it is just cumbersome to have to open Outlook 3-5, sometimes 7 times before it will connect to exchange. The DHCP and DNS are working fine, there are no errors reported about them in the event log, but I can't seem to resolve this issue. This just started happening after the VPN server was setup. Any help or tips you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I need some help with finding a program that will back up exchange but keep it running at the same time!
I have found 1 or 2 that can do it but if you could find some free versions or for a price what would be great.
It will be a big task to do it because they have over 16 GB of exchange and rising fast!!!

Any help would be great thanks Jason

A:Exchange Server Back-up

You really aren't going to find any that are FREE and do a good job of backing up individual mailboxes and databases while they are live. You need to ask yourself how much this email is worth to you and what would the effect be on you if they were suddenly gone and unrecoverable. If the answer is "they are worth nothing" then you can use the built in ntbackup utility to back it up. It the answer is "I would be devestated" you need to spend the money to get something like Veritas, BrightStor or other with Exchange connectors. 16GB is a lot of data to lose.

A:Hosted Exchange Server and Mac

What kind of email client will they be using on the Mac? If the hosted Exchange offers Outlook Web Access, they can access their email from a browser and there shouldn't be any issues.
There are Mac versions of Outlook as well, which will probably work better with Exchange than the native Apple Mail application, although that should work as well.
If they're going to use some other client like Thunderbird, then make sure the hosted Exchange has IMAP and/or POP enabled -- on Exchange, those aren't by default. They'll also need to install an add-on if they want to use all the Exchange features that aren't available in IMAP or POP.

A:Exchange server for home use: help?

First, go to Dell and download ALL the available drivers for that model Service Tag. They also have pretty decent setup instructions.
This system is not all that different from what you are used to... so do not be intimidated with it because it is "new" to you. Simply start out slowly, and become comfortable with how it works... add and remove as needed, but slowly. Don't add the second NIC until you know why it is needed.
The noise is caused by a high speed, rugged power supply that is designed to run 24 hours without interruption. You can replace that power supply with a quieter model that will work just as well, but may not have the 3-year long life of the current one. But yes, it is often useful to have another terminal at your desk IF you can control the dust and heat in the garage.
You will likely need more instruction than can be posted here, but there are plenty of good ideas available with a Google search.
Your thinking on this project is very good, however.
One thing I would do is call Dell support, and ask them to send you a copy of the install disk that came with that model. It will have the latest service packs. But all other drivers will only be available via download.

Not sure if I should post this here or in the XP forum, but here goes...

In attempting to fix an issue I had with OREANS32.SYS in my c:\windows\system32\drivers folder on a Win2K3 server, I renamed the file, then created a new 0-byte text file called OREANS32.SYS in the same directory.

Adjusted the pagefile to move it to the D: drive, (which is faster), and upon reboot, I can login to the server, map drives, view an internal website that is hosted on this server, but I can no longer RDP into the server, or open Outlook on my local machine (which connects to this server for Exchange mail).

I have gone back and undone my OREANS32.SYS changes, rebooted, but still getting the same issues.

Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

A:Can't access exchange server or RDP

OREANS32.SYS on google comes back as an infection, could be one of many... I assume you've already followed this route? If you have an infection, renaming the file isn't going fix the problem...

I'm making the assumption that you're running 2003 SBS if you have everything in one. Are you running enterprise antivirus for your exchange or just a client covering the pc? What errors are in your logs? Can any machines connect to the exchange server?

Check your services, are all necessary exchange services running?

A:Exchange server issues!

What do the addresses that fail have in common? Are they web mail cusomers, do they use Lotus Notes or CC Mail? I would check you Internet Mail Connector and see if it is set up correctly and also find out if Exchange is using the least cost route to send mail. We had a problem where the mail was taking too many hops before it's final destination and the mail would never reach the intended mail server. If you are using DNS to route mail make sure the remote host is registered on the DNS server or it will not go out.

Our exchange server is working fine for some but not all users. I have rebooted the server and then some of the machines that were having problems and it seemed to fix the problem for a few minutes and then it goes back to asking for a password to connect. any help or suggestions would be appreciated. my email is working fine.

I use MS Office2000 professional and MS Back Office and am having trouble on a small, 5 computer network, sharing things like my calendar and contacts. Every so often, when I reboot, and go to File, then Share, Sharing is greyed out and therefore unavailable. The only fix I have happened upon is to use "detect and repair" and insert the Office2000 disk and wait about 10 minutes while it does whatever it does. When I reboot, it's fixed. This is getting tiring. Any ideas?

We are on a network.A computer has just been set for a new user. The account has already been put on the exchange server. However, anyone using this computer can click on to outlook 98 and get into the program.Typically, when a user who is not registered to that computer can log on. However, if they try to click onto outlook.Access is denied. Anyone who logs on to this computer can also access the outlook e-mail program? I don't know anything about exchange. Any suggestions you might have would behelpful.

A:{Solved} - Exchange Server

Normally when you set up a new user on exchange and log onto a machine you will have two error messages

"Network problems are preventing connection to the Microsoft exchange server your system administrator if this condition persist"

and then

"the Action could not be completed"

If you go into the control panel and open "mail/Mail & fax" and then "properties"
and enter the correct name for the server & mailbox and then hit the "check name" box it should underline the user, you should then be able to access the mail.

I hope this is what you needed!

My current set up is one computer that have a proxy server, exchange server and a database server.
I setup a old computer to become my communications server, i set up the proxy server in there. My problem is i don't want to move the exchange server to the new comm. server. How do i tell exchange to use the proxy server to connect to the internet?

A:Exchange Server and Proxy

As far as I know, you install the Proxy Client on the Exchange server. Then, when your Internet Connector attempts to make a connection to the internet, it will go through the proxy server.
