I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My Kyocera needs repair: the flash seems to have lost strength. Though it goes off, the resulting picture is barely visible when I use it indoors.

I love that little swivel-camera and am willing to pay a reasonable price to have it repaired.

The Kyocera camera phone numbers (that I've used for previous repairs) are disconnected. Where can I find a reliable repair shop?

First post here.
There is no Windows 7 driver for my old but very reliable Kyocera FS-680 printer.
I saw a post on a German forum that said I could use a Vista driver 'and say a prayer it'll work' but I'm reluctant to try that.
Am I stuck with buying a new printer?
Is there anyone out there with a solution to this?
Thanks,
ian in hamburg

Hi Ian, Vista drivers will in most cases work for Windows 7. Whoever states otherwise doesn't know much. Try this driver, Kyocera FS-680 KX driver v.4.4.0403 download for Windows Vista

Hi,

I have a Kyocera FS-1030D printer. It was working fine until this morning. As far as I am aware no settings have been changed on it, I can ping the printer but when I try to connect to the interface through my browser it times out. Anything I sent to be printed on it errors.

Can anybody please advise what may be wrong or how I troubleshoot it? The toner is fairly new and I have restarted it but neither made any difference.

Cheers
Paul

I have a much-loved Kyocera Mita FS-3800 KX which is still working perfectly from my Samsung Laptop using Windows 7. Unfortunately my 7 year old Dell desktop has died, and I am now struggling with this much-unloved new software, Windows 8.1, on my new HP desktop.

Although the Printers page shows the Kyocera is connected, it doesn't print, so I have downloaded the correct new 64-bit driver from the Kyocera website and am trying to install it.

Firstly, I can't see how to uninstall the old software (it doesn't show on the Control Panel/Uninstall page), and when I tried to install the new downloaded driver (using the setup.exe program in the download) I got the message "The operating system is not supported".

Microsoft strikes again. Any ideas, anyone?

BTW this is not the only gripe, but it's the major one at present!

I have a Kyocera FS-1020D printer that has printed about 45,000 pages. It now has a problem with aligning the print. When a page prints it begins printing right at the top of the page and is missing the first 1-2cm of detail. THis happens when printing documents from word etc and when printing a test page from the printer. It also happens when the paper is fed from the print tray or the manual paper feed

A:Kyocera FS-1020D print not aligning

Try installing the most up to date driver software for your PC according to you OS: http://www.kyoceradocumentsolutions...ownload_centre.false.driver.FS1020D._.EN.html
I know for HP, the drivers come bundled with a control center that allows you to align and clean the print heads, check ink levels, etc. Maybe the new driver will come bundled with that type of software. My printer can also clean and align the cartridges from with in the printer itself since it has a touch screen. Not sure if you can do that with yours because of the small screen. You can also take a look at your user manual for steps on how to align the cartridges. Download the manual here if you lost it: http://www.kyoceradocumentsolutions...wnload_centre.false.driver.FS1020D._.EN.html#

I'm not sure what to do right now. I've tried to get windows to find a driver but it ain't very helpful.

I've migrated from Vista 32 to Vista 64 and the process has been incredibly smooth.

The only speed bump I've experienced focuses around a color printer driver for our Kyocera Mita KM-C2230 with an embedded Fiery X3e rip. I hear from the manufacturer they do not intend to produce a 64-bit driver.

Any help in either getting the current driver to load and work, or thinking through a work-around would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Found this on google while working on this issue myself and came back to post what I got working.

Setup the port as LPR, queue name print with byte counting on.

Use the built in x64 2k3 driver for the Ricoh Aficio AP3800C PS.

So far I have Color, Duplexing, Tray options working properly with this driver, but the finisher doesn't want to staple... better than it being a large paperweight though.

Hope this helps.

I need to change my cellular, but don't want to get rid of some old nice pictures I have on my Kyocera KX16, so I bought a data-cable via eBay that came with a CD. The cable plugs in on the side of my cell, and has a USB connector at the other end. SETUP was then run from the CD and there was an app called QPST that installed on my laptop. With that done, I went to check the posibility of accesing the data contained of my mobile phone but nothing happened. Reading some more, I realized one more app was needed. KPD v3.1 was then found on the web and installed it, but when run it keeps saying no phone is connected to the desktop. What am I missing?

A:Kyocera FS-C5100DN memory chip installation

Most Kyocera's use a special memory configuration. You gain access to the slot to it is beneath the top part of the case, usually on the right side... which sometimes has to be accessed by removing screw drivers. If it is accessible, there is a diagram or photo on the Kyocera website for each model.

I have just installed the latest driver from Kyocera for the FS-1020D. I am using the USB connection. This problem has occurred with Windows 7 Professional and Windows 8.

When I print the page, the print doesn't start until between 5cm and 14cm down the page (I tried printing off 5 pages, the first page started printing 14 cm down, then the remaining 4 pages left a top gap of 5 cm).

Any ideas?

downloaded yesterday for an important installation where I was very afraid to use 64-bit Windows 7 in real production environment with non-technical users. older Kyocera model, fortunately has a fairly recent wad-respin tagged for x64 Windows 7 & Vista. Ran multiple tries as Administrator, user, compatibility mode, debug mode. nada.
could not install the drivers.

i see all the files necessary right there but they don't clue me as to whether the driver files themselves are 32bit or 64.

any idea how to hack this in?

A:Kyocera Network Printer FAIL. supposedly Win7 Driver package

Short of just running the installer one quick and easy way to check is to locate any INF files and look for anything mentioning "AMD64", if that is present then the drivers will be/work on 64 bit Windows.

A:Sometimes Kyocera PCMCIA cell phone modem doesn't start when plugged in

You need to discuss this with Kyocera.  The modem is over 5 years old and there is only one update for Windows Vista.  The is no information implying this is compatible with Windows 7.  Vista compatibility does not guarantee Win 7 compatibility.
Until Kyocera provides a solution to support Windows 7 you will never have full functionality and compatibility.
Sometimes Vista drivers can be installed in the Compatibility mode, but not always. Please remember to click ?Mark as Answer? on the post that helps you, and to click ?Unmark as Answer? if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Ive read the Instructions on how to setup XP to dual-boot with Vista...
However, im concerned (and someone mentioned it happened to them in the thread)
that when XP SETUP is finished with the TX part of setup and reboots PC to go into the
rest of setup (GUI XP SETUP)) it wont continue....?
is this right>? ive read elsewhere that if the partitions for XP are created in Vista that it wont boot into the rest of setup....

I could make the partition during XP setup if this will help?

thanks

A:Vista/XP Dual Boot - Will XP setup continue into GUI setup after reboot of 1st part.?

When I did my dual boot [using win2k / vista] I used an existing partition that was created by vista. No problem at all. It is a little more difficult than say installing win2k after xp however as long as you follow the instructions there are no problems.

As always make an image of your system before you start. This way if something does go wrong, it is a simple matter to restore the image and be back where you started from.

I have several Asus Eee netbooks that I'm getting set up to use at my school. I had some parent volunteers helping me get them ready to deploy, and one of the netbooks was plugged in to initially power it up, but then hard-shut-down before Windows could run through its initial setup.

Now when I boot up the netbook, and it attempts to go through the initial windows setup "Setup is starting services", and then throws an error message:
The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.I restart, and the cycle continues. This happens whether I try to boot normally or in safe mode.

I've got no CD-drive attached to it, so I'm not sure what I can do to break this error cycle. Any suggestions/tools/ideas?

Thx,
Jeff

Not sure how you deployed them, but if Startup Repair doesn't help when run from System Recovery Options then I would redeploy the image or run Factory Recovery from its partition after backing up the disks.

If you don't have one and they are same hardware, simply backup one's image using Win7 backup imaging or free Macrium - Image your system then boot System Recovery options to Recover Using an Image from its external storage location which you have connected.

If they are not same exact hardware or Image hangs at startup, SysPrep the original before deploying to remove all drivers, activation, SID and HID's.

I'm trying to install windows xp, after formatting, it goes thru the process of copying the xp files and automatically reboots. Now after rebooting, instead of this installation to continue, it just goes back to the same setup process again i.e right from the beginning again of wanting to format and repeating the same process again. It does not continue with the installation as it normally does. Xp disk is good. no problem with it.
One thing strange I noted is when booting with the XP disk in, it automatically goes thru with the XP setup without asking 'Click any key to boot from CD-Rom'
Any ideas to solve this? Thank you all in advance

The simple answer is a stuck key, or a faulty key signal. Could you post your system specs to give us a little more to go on?

Have you tried launching it in "Safe Mode"? That would be the first thing I would try, and see if it will load past that screen. If it does, then there is probably something installed on the device that is causing the problem and you will need to see about uninstalling it.

If it doesn't move past, and still gets stuck, you may have a hardware problem.

I have just finished moving my OS from a 3TB hard drive to an SSD. I now have 2 matching drives that I would like to set up as a RAID array. A couple of questions:

1. Do I need to backup the data that will be on the RAID before setting it up and then move it back once it has been setup?

2. Do I format them before I go into the RAID setup utility or does that utility do it for me?

3. Will the RAID just appear as a single drive letter on my system?

4. Evidently I have the choice between RAID0 (for performance) and RAID1 (for redundancy). I hhave an extensive back up scheme in place so is there any reason not to use RAID0?

I know that I enable the RAID in the BIOS and then there is a place in the boot sequence to get into the RAID setup.

A:RAID Setup - Alienware - A few setup questions?

What are you hoping to get out of a RAID0 setup? If you have User data on the hard drive, such as movies, music, documents, pics, etc....there is no need for RAID0. Hard drives are more than fast enough for that kind of data.

I recently purchased a refurbished HP 6005 with windows 7 Professional. On the initial boot up I got to the windows setup screen asking for the country/language. It was at this point the power was disrupted and restarted the computer. Every time I tried to run windows the computer would restart. I also tried in safe mode which did not work. I then went into system restore mode to try that but am not able to complete because I get the restore error message 'Error 1'. Unfortunately I only have the product key and not the actual disc since i bought refurbished. Any suggestions on how to complete the setup so I can use my computer?

A:Power was disrupted during setup and now unable to setup.

According to the Troubleshooting Guide, you can restore to factory new state:

Press the F11 key at startup to boot into the recovery partition

I am trying to install Windows XP Pro onto my machine as a dual boot operating system, it will enter the txt portion of the setup but not gui mode after the restart. I've tried to make a new partition on my hard drive, reset my bios, change boot order, everything I can think of to no avail. I've searched the forums and couldn't find any real help.

Any suggestions?

A:Win XP Setup will not enter GUI mode setup

Just got off work, thought I'd include more information. My current main OS is Windows 7, when I hit Enter to go into GUI setup mode, the screen goes to black, no cursor, no blinking underscore, just blank. I remove the cd and when I try to boot into the XP OS I get the hal.dll error or the missing/corrupt file error. So I load into Windows 7 to check the partition out and see that there is no ntldr, no ntdetect, and no boot.ini (assuming this is all installed in the gui portion of the setup)

Still baffled with this.

I was having problems with my Maple Story, so I un-installed and re-downloaded the program. However, when I tried to open the setup wizard, it gave me the error:

Error reading setup initialization file

I looked online for troubleshooting solutions, and I have so far found two options:

-Re-download because the error could be the result of a failed download that wasn't identified when the file was downloaded.

-Find and delete old files that could be stopping the file from being reaad properly.

I need help with the second solution, as in how I search for those files. Also, any other solutions for this problem would be much appreciated.

Hi guys, wonder if anyone could shed some light on my issue please?
I am trying to reinstall XP SP2 on an Acer Aspire 5100 laptop, as it would not boot up correctly and hang. I tried initially to repair the installation from the Disk, but setup would load all the drivers and when it gets to the "Setup is starting windows" everything stops and just hangs.
I have a copy of unbuntu and i could boot to that off the live CD, and could browse the HDD contents. I then used the partition manager thing in unbuntu and made the disk one partition (thinking the partitions were screwed and opted to try to start from scratch!) This however has not cured the problem, and now im out of ideas... other than trying to install unbuntu only to prove the HDD isnt knackered!

Any help is greatly appreciated!
thanks in advance

A:Appropriate cpu for this setup?

what is your price range for the cpu?

also to make a link clickable, dont worry about the tools when writing your posts, just copy and paste the link

like this : http://www.techspot.com/vb/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=560331

just make sure it has "http://www." in it before the actual address.

also, after seeing the cpu you posted a link to, your really going to want a dual core not a single core.

try this one out for size, its not too expensive http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3241559

but there are better choices if you can add $50-75 bucks past the 129.

Hello there guys,

I am going to build a new rig and use most of my old stuff for the unit. I am stuck on two things, one being the motherboard choice and the other memory.

The two boards I am considering is the Asus P5e or the Asus P5K deluxe to pair with an e8400 CPU. They both are nearly the same in cost. Does anyone know which of these boards might be best to use with an e8400?

P5K Deluxe
After I select a board, I would also like to talk about the memory for such, but need a board first

Thanks for helping a girl out.

As long as the drive is still FAT32 (which is likely is from the description), there are two easy choices.

1. Simply boot with a Win98 disk and run "sys c:" - no quotes.
2. Edit the c:\boot.ini file and remove the entry you don't want.

My preference would be the first one.

A:Setup Exe

Sounds like you deleted something that was important to the program. Programs should never be "deleted" but added or removed using Add/Remove Programs or Programs & Features (depending what version of Windows).

At this point, you may need to uninstall all of it and reinstall again. You could try a restore point, but System Restore is intended to restore the system and not programs, so it may not help.

im wanting to setup IIS on my system so i can develop ASP applications, it will just be used for internal access i.e. not used as a proper web server.

so i installed IIS from my windows 2k pro setup, but what else do i need to do?

i created a folder in wwwroot called testsite and placed an asp page inside it called default.asp.

then opened up IE 6 and typed http://localhost/testsite/default.asp expecting to be presented with my asp file, instead i get "this page cannot be displayed".

i have tried computer name and ip address inplace of localhost but still no joy, what am i missing?

Hello Tech,

I gotta setup fax on winXP using HP Officejet 4315, just downloaded the drivers and ran them, still nothing. what is next and what else do I have to do. I was told the phone line doubles up as a fax line with manual switching of the fax tone. Anyone that wants to tackle this one, it would be greatly appreciated. By the way I'm in Costa Rica, but don't think this matters! Pura Vida and thank you!

Um, It isnt the best.
You have minimum memory, an average GFX card, and I am not even sure your cpu can run 64bit. For light gaming this might work.

If you can upgrade memory and gfx card it will help.

you know when you download some thing
like say a patch for a game it will be .exe
well with some of them you can unpack it with winrar but some you cant
is there any program that will unpack them becasue i need to do some thing with a setup exe

A:setup exe

It depends entirely on how the setup.exe file was created. Some, like you said, can be opened by Winrar. This is because the setup.exe file is actually a self-extracting archive which extracts the real setup.exe and then runs it. Most setup.exe files, however, either don't do this or they use a proprietary format, or they may use the WISE installer framework included with Windows (or another framework altogether.)

Thus, there is no single "universal" unpacker for setup.exe files as there is no "universal" format for creating them.

Take the CD out of the drive when it's booting up. It is trying to boot to your CD-ROM instead of the hard drive. Either that or go into the BIOS and change the boot order.

How are the drivers jumpered?
If the old drive is jumpered as slave, and the new one as master you should have no problem.
No way to tell her the files are still there, but It appears your Windows on the old drive didn't like the change...
Hard drives are cheap nowadays... You can buy a 250 to 320 GB hard drive on several online sites for under $78... or an 80 GB for $41. 500 G B is $120 which should be enough even for your sister.

A:new pc setup

Hi and welcome to SevenForums!
When you rip your CDs, you must setup your ripping program to store tracks on the raid disk.
When you install programs, you have to make custom installation and select raid disk as target.

Hope this helps

I have an Asus p4c800-dlx mobo and a P4 2.8cghz hyperthreading CPU.

I want to get a RAM setup that best utilizes my CPU and will give me the best bang for my buck with the whole dual channel etc that my mobo can handle.

I basically came to the descision that I can buy 2 gigs (4x512) of the slower ram, or I can go all out and buy some of that really high end OCZ or Corasair dual channel kit stuff. I've realized that 1 gig of the high end stuff is around the same price of the 2 gigs of lower end normal ram. I was just wondering which setup will get me the most performance? Thanks.

A:What do you think is the best RAM setup?

I say, go with one gig of the high performance for now. Trust me, even with *only* 1 GB of it, you'll still be screaming. Try out the one gig for awhile, if somehow its too slow for you, save up and buy another high quality gig of it. I think this would be your most valued course of action.

Well after getting a new mobo I found out it was the CPU that was broke, so yeah got a new one works fine. Now the problem is when I turn it on says windows cannot load maybe due to new hardware (didn't change the harddrive). If I click continue to load it starts to load and restarts. And if I put windows install disk in it loads all install files and then when it says Installer is starting windows computer just freezes. Does anyone know anything? Thanks

Then: A BSOD. I cannot remember what type.
This also happens with the Pro disc.

ACER MODEL NUMBER: ACER ASPIRE X1700

I need XP for a project, and VMs are too slow.

A:XP Setup on x64

Are you booting from the XP install CD?

What is the exact error message? Snap a pic if necessary to attach here.

Did you use Disk Management to shrink existing partitions to create a New partition to format using the XP CD?

It is likely that the SATA controllers for your Acer are not in the XP CD and need to be added at the F6 prompt during driver loading phase. They may need to be slipstreamed using Nlite if you have no floppy drive.

Please complete your System Specs as there isn't even an Acer model number there.

MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum

Processor
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice

Graphics Card
eVGA Geforce 7600GT 256MB PCI-Express

Power supply
XCLIO ATX 450W

Memory
CORSAIR 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR SDRAM DDR 400

Case
ASPIRE X-Dreamer

Well what do you think? I know its not going to be the ULTRA GAME SYSTEM, but i think it will be decent. I'm kinda on a budget

A:What about this setup??

For a budget system, I think your setup above will treat you very well, and once you feel it is too slow for you, you can always upgrade more in the future. Some great choices there!

I do question that power supply though. How many amps does it have on the 12v rail(s)? How much does it cost?

Hi and welcome
Clean make sure that the vista version is the same as win 7 (ie Pro vista>>>pro win 7) Clean install is much better. It is recommended by MS and most of us here
