Taskbar not showing after alt-tabbing in game

Q: Taskbar not showing after alt-tabbing in game

Before when I had alt-tabbed out of a game when i used 2 monitors before, it would show the taskbar at the bottom of the screen with the game with the date, time, etc. Recently i returned to a 2 monitor setup, and when I alt tab out of my game the taskbar does not show, however it does show on the other monitor without date/time.

Any help or walkthrough is appreciated

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I recently converted to Windows 8(.1) from 7. When I had seven I'd play games in windowed (borderless) mode and tab out to my other monitor. It left behind a taskbar at the bottom overlaying the game I was previously on. I found this actually kinda helpful. Now in Windows 8 it only shows if I tab to a program on the same monitor as the game, and not if I tab to a program on my other monitor. Is there any way to change this?

Ok until recently I had absolutely no problems with the new Windows and alt tabbing That is until a couple days ago Now after sometime when I try to alt tab out of my game full screen windowed the alt tab selections get stuck on my screen and my mouse becomes unresponsive as well as my keyboard I have to hit the Ctrl-alt-delete keys and the Task Manager to get back to the game After exiting out of the game and using alt-tab game tabbing causes alt of unresponsiveness out it does the same exact thing as it alt tabbing out of game causes unresponsiveness did in game and I have to resort to ctrl-alt-delete and restart the computer I alt tabbing out of game causes unresponsiveness should say that at first when I first boot up the computer the alt tab function actually seems to work with no problems and it even seemed to work even in game for a bit After awhile though it does as described above I'm not sure if this is related but I seemed to start having the issues after the last Nvdia Geforce patch a couple days I tried rolling back but that didn't seem to work I guess for now I'll just stop alt-tabbing for now but its been a huge pain without it I'm college student and while gaming I frequently alt tab out of the game to check my emails and if I have any additional assignments so having to completely exit out of the game is very inconvenient Any help would be sincerely appreciated Note Using Win D seems to cause the same issue as well

I'm running Princessmaker 2 on my laptop, and every time I alt tab out I have to restart my computer, to get the colors right again. When I start the game up they are fine, when I come back they are rendered wrong. Is there a way to correct this without restarting?

A:Colors wrong after alt-tabbing into dos game

Might be the computer has to restart. This used to happen to me when I used to play Sim Copter. Like you, I found a restart fixes the problem. It sucks, but it makes a workable solution.

First off, thanks so much for your time and expertise! I've been having this issue for a while now, but it's gotten to the point where it BSOD's about once a day. It mostly happens when I alt tab or quit a game (dota 2 is a common one) but it can also happen at any time, even when I'm away from the computer.

I don't have an error code, but this is the info windows gives me after I crash:

Daemon Tools is a known cause on BSODs, uninstall it.

Code:
DAEMON Tools Lite "c:\program files (x86)\daemon tools lite\dtlite.exe"
I also suggest removing AVG as it too can cause issues.
I recommend installing Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes as a replacement.

Howdy I was playing Fallout on my notebook recently and I alt-tabbed out of the game to look something up online The game hung up and I had to use task manager to get out of it Afterward my Alt-tabbing speed of pointer mouse slows game out mouse moved sluggishly so I bumped up the mouse pointer speed in the control panel Tonight I did it again Stupid right Anyway now my Alt-tabbing out of game slows mouse pointer speed mouse pointer speed is maxed out but the cursor still moves a bit slower than before I tried restarting but that doesn t seem to do anything Does anybody know how to reset this I believe the problem is that Fallout is set to run at x pixels and my desktop is set at x My mouse is an wireless Dynex optical mouse with a USB dongle I also have a touchpad but I usually turn that device off as soon as I notice it I m running Vista Home Premium with SP Any ideas Thanks in advance nbsp

A:Alt-tabbing out of game slows mouse pointer speed

Well, I tried reversing the relationship between the game and desktop resolution. I set mouse pointer speed to the default, set my desktop to 800x600 and the game to 1680x1050, and kept alt-tabbing until fallout hung up again. After that, I was able to get the mouse pointer speed back up to a reasonable speed afterwards, but this is pretty inconvenient and unpredictable.

This references showing Toolbar rows Icons Taskbar 3 2-line Taskbar Large small using Quick Launch Bar icons don't wrap even though there is room - a post by chillz which discovers a quot bug quot with the taskbar not resetting the row-sizing for toolbars when dragging the taskbar to the left then back to the bottom I for a while now have been using a custom quick-launch toolbar on my taskbar with the taskbar being unit-lines in height and having the taskbar on my secondary left monitor When I first set this up it showed lines of small icons in the toolbar and up to lines on the standard taskbar This was perfect because the toolbar didn't reset the order every time I launched an application contrary to how the pinned application system works With pinned applications no matter what position I drop the icon the order always resets and floats from place to place so that system of organizing icons is disgusting because you have apps between icons of apps that aren't running some times and other times the running applications are above and Taskbar Toolbar showing 3 small rows using Large Icons 2-line Taskbar below with or without grouping enabled The vertical display would be the ideal way for me to view unlaunched applications see aforementioned topic because they group together and launched apps come after in horizontal mode the taskbar is chaotic without a toolbar organizing the apps to one side but then you lose the functionality of the pinned-application system if you forfeit usage of that chaotic horizontal system in favor of how the vertical system works but in horizontal mode To the point After an update restart the toolbar reset and only showed lines despite there being more than enough room for rows of small icons I couldn't figure out what happened or what changed and then I read the aforementioned topic after some searching to find it actually worked Moving the taskbar to the left then back down resets the order so lines can be used on a line-unit height taskbar with large icons I would like to see several things fixed - Fix the chaotic organizing system of the horizontal taskbar to match the vertical display mode so pinned-apps are always on one side and use all lines while opened apps read like a book Other people will likely have a different opinion to this suggestion and I'd like to read them - Fix the toolbar icon organizational system so all space can be utilized without needing to move the taskbar each restart or update I have yet to restart since fixing the issue and I rarely restart as it is but others may not keep their pc running stressful on components to keep restarting Again I'd like to read others opinions on this but I'm sure most will agree on this point that unused space shouldn't be wasted Here we see all rows in my quick-launch toolbar Unfortunately without restarting or receiving a new update I can't reset the toolbar back to lines which is fantastic and I didn't take a screenshot prior to moving the taskbar to the left then back down but for simple effect imagine the top lines visibly the bottom invisible and an arrow on the right for extra icons and that is the default view You'll likely be able to repeat the effect if you don't have a toolbar and try it out

I have a toolbar on my taskbar titled "Programs". It has about eight folders in it. I made another toolbar, and placed it directly adjacent to the Programs toolbar, to obscure the eight folders and force it to be a dropdown menu.

Trouble is, as soon as I lock my taskbar, right next to the arrow that displays the eight items of my Programs toolbar in menu-form, one of the eight items is showing up as an icon, as if the other toolbar isn't close enough to the Programs toolbar in order to completely obscure the eight items.

Here's what I mean in graphic form:

It's bugging me to no end. Anyone else had this problem/resolved it?

A:Toolbar on taskbar should only be showing an arrow but is showing icon

Hello thewonkits, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I notice this happens when using small icons for a toolbar. If you like, you could unlock the taskbar, right click on the dotted separator line to the left of the two top far left toolbars (one at a time) click on View and Large Icons, then lock the taskbar to see if that may look ok to you. It will make the top row a bit bigger though.

Hopefully someone may know a better way to hide that bit of icon poking out when locked.

Maybe it is behind the little arrow "show hidden icons". If yes, just drag it from there to the taskbar.

There are some programs that when it is in full/maximized window, it hides everything from the desktop.
The program that i am using is Zbrush 4R7, and the windows 10 taskbar shows when the program is maximized, which it is very annoying, and because of that, many options of Zbrush that is at the bottom becomes unaccesible unless I go in windowed mode.
So, is there a way to fix this issue with windows 10, because I was a windows 7 user and everything works fine, except in windows 10. Thanks.

Hello,

First, thanks to all for all the previous help; appreciate it very much.

Re the bar on the bottom, which I guess is called the Taskbar:

Have several icons on it, which is fine.

But it won't accept any more new ones if I try to drag some onto it.

I right clicked on the bar and pulled up the Taskbar Tab under properties.
I have the Lock The Taskbar box un-checked, and have also selected
Never Combine next to the Taskbar Buttons: line.

Seems like it's still trying to pin the icons to others, and Not show them visually as completely separate icons in the bar.

What might I be doing wrong ?

BTW: also, any way of having the icon names Permanently displayed next to the icon on top or below the particular icon ?

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks,
Bob

After changing my keyboard settings, something happened with my taskbar so that it only shows two pinned icons, and I have to use these up and down arrow keys to scroll through the rest. This is incredibly annoying, as I can't figure out how to make it show all the icons again. My ThinkCentre button is hogging up the whole task bar, and any right clicks in the giant empty spaces right next to it will bring up options for the ThinkCentre.

A:taskbar showing just two icons; help!

Hello Yihwan,

It looks like you need to unlock your taskbar, drag the dotted lines separator just to the left of the blue circle icon (far right one) over to the left to decompress the other icons until the arrows to the right of the Chrome icon go away. After you get the icons dragged into the position you want, you can lock the taskbar again.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

I've been using Windows Seven and Microsoft Security Essentials since November and have been fairly happy with it. But today is the second time now that I've started my computer and the Icon for MSE is not appearing on the system tray on the task bar. If I go and click it on the desk top and run the program it says the real time protection is enabled and it looks like everything else is fine, but I guess I'm just a little paranoid that it's not appearing on the system tray. The strange thing, I'll restart the computer, and then its there upon start up on the second time. I checked the thing in the task bar properties where it says "show notifications" and that such and it doesn't look like its been changed or anything. Just thought that it was kind of odd that it'll work if I restart it on the second time.

A:MSE not showing up on taskbar first time

The real test to see whether MSE is protecting you, despite the missing icon, is if the services are running.

MsMpEng.exe is the security engine, used by Windows Defender and MSE.

msseces.exe is MSE itself.

I can open a program on the desktop, but once its open I am not able to click on anything. The only way I can get the taskbar to show up is by opening up taskmanager. Then it mysteriously shows up. Can anyone help? Am I missing some start-up files that got deleted when I "fixed" my computer.

Have you tried going to My Computer > Control Panel > Taskbar Properties. And uncheck "autohide" and checking "always on top."

If that doesn't work, then try moving the cursor to the bottom of the screen and right clicking. If you get a different menu click "properties" and then click "always on top," and uncheck "autohide."

Hello, I found this website while looking for help on this matter.

I noticed that, on the family computer, sometimes this weird icon shows up on the taskbar. When I right click it, it shows options to add keys, but I don't know if someone has access to the PC because of it or if it is triggered to open by something on the computer itself and is harmless.

I don't understand much about it. How can I get rid of this PuTTY? I can't find it if look it up on the PC, as suggested in this thread I found: https://forums.techguy.org/threads/putty-rnd-shows-up-in-my-files.826903/#post-6714012

Hello!

Norton 360 icon runs double in my taskbar. It's the only program that does it. But also, my emails have been doubling in two of my web accounts. I have noticed it on my phone, and web. I've sought help, but no one seems to fix it. Really tired of the seeing double stuff. Could I have malware stuck somewhere? Is Conduit a culprit? My PC also likes to connect to an old network ID that has been deleted from my profiles. I had renamed the ID an my PC wants to keep that name. It's like it's mad at me or something. I have to manually reconnect to the new ID name. My PC is running Win7, and it's about 5 yrs old. My fan runs hot a lot though, and the computer shuts down sometimes. I really need help here. Hate having multiple problems. Had these issue for a few months now.

When I start the computer everything appears to load fine, but theres no taskbar. I can move the cursor and highlight any icons on the desktop, just can't click on them. If I control/alt/del to start taskmanager, then evrything seems to work fine. This started after I picked up a trojan and got rid of it. Apparenently it also go rid of some system files too. I've done multiple system restores, sfc, and still no fix. Short of doing a non-destructive restore to fact. default is there anything else I can do?

i left my computer on at night and i let the screensaver go on, as i move the mouse to go to my desktop this morning. the task bar was half gone. all that was on the bottom was the start windows logo. Im wondering if my computer is set to turn off the hd or something when the computer isn't touched for 30 min. would that have anythin to do with this?

A:taskbar not showing after waking from screensaver?

As far as it goes, there is a known issue with letting your computer sit for a period of time, and when the screen wakes, the mouse being able to move but the computer being unresponsive for a minute or so.

Try waiting a couple minutes and see if the computer become responsive, if so, this may be the same issue.

On windows 8.1, my taskbar, one day, suddenly stopped displaying the audio icon on the taskbar. When I right click it, go to the properties, and click customize, it doesn't show the audio icon as an option. When I click, "turn system icons on or off," I can see the audio icon, but it is locked to off. I don't know where to look from here.

A:[SOLVED] Not Showing Audio Icon On Taskbar

Method 1:
There is no option available in control panel volume settings to show volume icon like earlier operating system. In Windows 8 and 8.1 you can enable volume icon by modifying ?Turn system icons on or off? option.
Right click on or near time clock in notification area and select Properties.

Make sure Volume icon is set ?On? as shown below, if it were off, make it on to show volume icon.

If the above step hasn?t help, ?Restore default icon behaviors? which may bring back the missing icon.

This is the normal procedure to get back the volume icon. In case the Volume icon option ( on/off) grayed out and you can?t change it, then follow the method 2.

Method 2: If volume icon is missing and you can?t enable it from ?Turn system icons on or off? area, then that could be an issue with explorer process. The following two methods can solve the issue.
a) Kill the explorer.exe from Processes or Details tab under task manager. Find out all explorer.exe and kill them, make sure no explorer.exe is running in the task manager. After that, on the file menu select new process or Run (or new tasks), type ?explorer? and press OK. It will start the new explorer process. That should bring back the volume icon, if it hasn?t, redo the method 1

This method has brought back missing volume icon on my Windows 8.1 computer.
b) Registry modification- Its recommended to take a backup before modifying registry.
Open registry editor in Windows and find out;
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify

After modifying registry keys, you need to kill and restart the explorer.exe process to take effect.

I hope one of the above method will fix your issue!

so, a couple of days ago (actually a lot of days ago) i posted that i was getting all of the dialogs in ie to show up after running combofix... and after a longer period of testing, i've come to a conclusion where there are a LOT of dialogs of a LOT of applications showing up on the taskbar when they shouldn't. From SQL Server Management Studio, to Internet Explorer, also Dreamweaver (color picker shows up as a window on the taskbar)... any ideas on how that happened? i know it's not IE as i first thought, but probably one of windows settings

Yesterday my Windows 10 was running fine until I came back from a shower.
I started up my computer logged into Windows and when I logged in the desktop was black and all I had was a mouse cursor. I opened task manager and I restarted "explorer.exe" but still nothing. I loaded up Google Chrome through the "Run New Task" option in the task manager to start looking up solutions. I've tried so many things, I've scanned for viruses and tried a few things I've seen on other posts.
For everyone else the solutions offered seemed to have worked but not for me.
One post suggested that it might be a virus that is inside windows files.
I don't remember downloading anything that day so I don't know if it can be a virus.
I need help.

I had to do a clean install on a new hard drive and since then have not been able to get my task bar balloons to show. Hi Jemi200,

If you right click on Malwarebytes and select 'Properties', then under the 'Shortcut' tab click on 'Change Icon' at the bottom. You should see the Malwarebytes icon there. Select it and hit OK, Apply and OK.

Hi,

I was wondering if you could help. My friend's computer has recently become very, very slow in starting up and when it loads it shows all icons except for My Computer and My Documents, and the Start Menu including taskbar and time. Is there any way to restore these? Ctrl Alt Del kinda kills it.

It's rather full (2.2gb left from 74.4) but he's now deleting some files. Would you like a HijackThis report to ensure it's not a virus? Did a scan on McAfee and it's clean, checked CMOS/BIOS settings and it's not hot or overclocked. Any help'd be appreciated, if you need to know anything else about the computer ask away, it'd be great if you could help. :)

A:XP not showing explorer.exe taskbar, My Computer/My Documents

I had this problem before, and it was a virus. In fact, it was a trojan.
Every time I would reboot or start my computer it wouldn't show the desktop at all. So I would have to open task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL),
close explorer.exe ,and run explorer.exe, which usually does the trick.

There's always system recover, that is, if you have the disk.
And if you're worried about your data I would suggest buying a storage device or blank CD's or Dvd-R's and saving them there. But only save valuable data, like irreplaceable things such as photos, and so on. Music can be downloaded later, and programs too. Take as many as screenshots too. But that's what I'd do.

I got a game on my Win7 Professional SP1 that is in Chinese, but when I start it all the text is either squares or question marks. I have done everything I know of.

In the Regional and Language window I have change format to Chinese Simplified, the current location to China, the display language to Chinese Simplified, current language for non-Unicode programs to Chinese Simplified.
I also unchecked the "Hide fonts based on language settings" button under Font Settings.

Still the game shows squares and question marks while my entire PC shows everything in Chinese.

Is there anything else that I am missing?

After installing a new theme, I noticed later on that all the icons on the taskbar, explorer, and the desktop were missing. The programs all work fine, with the title showing, but explorer is very laggy and it's incredibly hard to navigate through my picture folder without thumbnails.

If I update the BIOS on my Intel motherboard to any one of the three most recent BIOS's, my add-in Intel network card (located in one of the pci slots) shows up as a removable device in the taskbar (Much like a USB device; for example a passport removable hard drive or flash drive). However, the motherboard's network controller does not exhibit this behavior.

Intel support is telling me that it can vary as to how the devices are detected by Windows and that this is normal. I have never ever seen a pci slot card being detected as a removable device in the 20 years that I have been using Windows, so I was wondering if what they are telling me is a valid statement? I'm a new windows 10 latptop owner, previously used windows 7 with the classic theme. In both win 7 aero and in win 10, I dislike how the use of alt-tab and hovering over taskbar icons shows a series of miniatures images of windows. This is a terrible user interface --- all my windows are dense with text and could be scrolled to any point, so they can't be identified from the image. What I need to see are window titles. Or in the case of alt-tab, icons. Win 10 does show the titles but not stacked vertically, making them difficult to scan by eye. Same with icons---they are tiny little things in a sea of useless image.

So can I change the win 10 theme to show a vertical stack of window titles when hovering over the taskbar, and to show icons when doing alt-tab switching?

Mike

If I pin apps to taskbar or run apps , the app icons on the taskbar are shown as white square. And I am seeing the same thing on Apps & Feature settings list. The icons are there but as the backgrounds are shown as grey-white chequered pattern (for the transparency ), it looks like white squares. Rebuilt the icon cache but to no avail. Hi Everyone I play lots of games on my laptop but a game I used to play daily started acting goofy about weeks ago amp minimizes of window in to a opening Game taskbar instead even the tech support people at Wild Tangent are baffled I hope someone here knows how to fix this as I'm going nuts without my favorite game to play I'll try to provide as many details related to Game minimizes to taskbar instead of opening in a window this as I can so here goes My laptop runs Windows amp Flash is up-to-date I thought I should get that out of the way I use the game console for Wild Tangent amp all the games work fine except for quot Pioneer Lands quot I played it daily for months amp I never had any problems Game minimizes to taskbar instead of opening in a window I played quot Pioneer Lands quot on for a few hours then closed it at bedtime as usual On I opened the Game Console selected it amp clicked 'play' but instead of opening in its own window it minimized to my taskbar I could hear the normal sounds of the game amp waited for the window to open amp when it didn't I closed it amp reopened the console again Same thing but this time I saw it in my taskbar how odd So when clicking on it didn't open it I right-clicked on it amp in the menu I saw 'close window' amp 'pioneers exe' so I clicked on the 'pioneers exe' thinking it would open the game window but instead it opened an old version of the main game console called quot Orb quot that was upgraded several years ago Even more unusual the old quot Orb quot was never installed on this PC Weird huh I contacted WT tech support amp they told me to uninstall reboot reinstall the App amp the game so I did - times The problem persisted amp since then I have followed every possible combination of the above procedure almost a dozen times As a last resort I temporarily disabled my AV program even though I had all the correct 'exceptions' entered amp downloaded the App amp game because I was hoping that maybe something was getting blocked in the download process Unfortunately my idea didn't work either I sent an update to Wild Tangent amp while waiting for my next set of instructions to troubleshoot this problem I decided to do my normal maintenance amp I ran CCleaner I cleaned out the junk files then ran the Registry Scan While I normally just click the button to fix everything something caught my eye there were about - errors that referred to Wild Tangent stuff amp I also noticed a missing Registry Key for quot Open AL quot Now I'm not technically savvy but I thought I remembered a while back I had to install quot Open AL quot for another game so I wondered if there was a connection or at least a hint of a possible solution I don't know what ANY of these findings mean but I know that I saw Open AL in the dropdown menu on my Program Files x for Pioneer Lands so if the Reg Key was missing for this program then then maybe then I got a headache As I said I'm not tech savvy but stuff was bouncing around in my brain telling me that this might be related I'm attaching screenshots that show the dropdown menu amp the results of the Registry Scan so you can see if there's something there that I need to fix or reinstall or delete or whatever Believe me at this point I'm SO frustrated I'll try just about anything to get my game working again I even downloaded quot Pioneer Lands quot from other sites including Nevosoft the game's creator amp I get the exact result that I do when trying to play in Wild Tangent it minimizes to my taskbar period I can hear the sounds of the game but it won't open in a window to play it To my very inexperienced mind this means that either something's installed on my PC that shouldn't be or a program that should be installed isn't OR I have the program installed but it's been corrupted somehow Anyway that's my story amp I'm sticking to it If you need any other info just ask I'm desperate to get my game working again Thank you for reading this entirely-too-long post amp for any ... Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you may be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. Regardless if prompted to restart the computer or not, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. MBAM may make changes to your registry as part of its disinfection routine. If you're using other security programs that detect registry changes, they may alert you after scanning with MBAM. Please permit the program to allow the changes.

I'm using Windows 7 Professional x64. After I play any full screen game (2d or 3d game), my thumbnails only have little icons instead of a complete picture. If I click on the icons the pictures are refreshed. Still annoying though.

When Working:

After a Game

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks all!

A:Taskbar preview thumbnails gone after full screen game

First thought is that DWN shut down and didn't restart.

Before and after you game, will you hit start and search for services.msc and check on that?

I've tried everything to get it back. In my network connections, it only shows my local area connection. I can't connect to a wireless network, and my wifi light on my keyboard isn't even lit.
I don't have any switches or buttons on my keyboard either that would allow me to enable or disable wireless internet.
I do have a wireless card built into my computer, and I have been able to connect to wireless networks for the three years that I've owned this laptop. It basically just stopped working a few weeks ago.
By the way, it's Windows XP. Anyone have any idea how to get my Wifi back?

Anyone have any idea how to get my Wifi back?Click to expand...

Let's see if we can find where it went.

What is listed under Network Adapters in Device Manager? What, if any, warnings or errors are anywhere in Device Manager?

What is the brand and model of your laptop?

So I upgraded to Windows 10 and reverted back to Windows 7. And now my pinned / recent documents aren't showing on the taskbar icons.

For example, I have Excel on the taskbar icons. Before the upgrade, I was able to view recently opened documents and even pinned them to the icons which I can view by simple right clicking the icons on the taskbar.

How do I get this back?

Example: PS doesn't show my pinned or recent items. Excel does.... Word doesn't.

Tried to make a somewhat descriptive title I just upgraded from to and finding there are some minor differences I have to learn fix to behave how I want My issue is this when I'm playing WoW Monitor, Taskbar issue Dual Fullscreen Windowed Game, in windowed fullscreen on my primary monitor I typically have VLC Chrome and Skype the desktop version not Windowed Fullscreen Game, Dual Monitor, Taskbar issue the app open in my second monitor Occasionally I'll click out of the game onto the second monitor to respond to some skype messages skype typically falls behind chrome or VLC Rather than Alt-Tab I simply would click on my second monitor either on VLC player or Chrome open on Facebook for example and the taskbar Windowed Fullscreen Game, Dual Monitor, Taskbar issue would show up on my main monitor since the focus is no longer on the full screen game I have my taskbar auto-hide however if a skype message was available it would pop up orange as you can imagine In Windows I'm finding that if I click on VLC maximized or just regular size window on the second monitor the taskbar doesn't show up on my main monitor however when i click into Chrome on that second monitor the taskbar will show up Anyone know why this might be happening In Windows it would pop up regardless of what program I would click into Let me know if additional information is required Thanks
