My computer is a Microsoft Vista Home Premium Service Pack with AMD Athlon Dual Core Processors It is my Bucket Drivers Blue and Fault Screens, first computer I have developed repeated blue screens most of a general nature some mentioning drivers In my Problem Report section it tells me there is a driver problem I Blue Screens, Drivers and Fault Bucket have followed each of HP steps Blue Screens, Drivers and Fault Bucket to try to remedy the problem This includes multiple hours on the phone Blue Screens, Drivers and Fault Bucket with HPtech support including a full recovery When I was directed to the Event Viewer and followed some steps I obtained a faault bucket which is Oxc E VRF-TfFsMon d IDI Oea dbf-O When I came to Microsoft Knowledgebases I expected to find a table to which I could match my fault bucket and finally determine what is the problem with drivers and or which driver is problematic I can nothing like that Can anyone intrepret the code or refer me to some reference that would allow me to do so Thank you for your time and willingness to help
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
How-to: WinDbg Analysis Report
Following yesterday's worldwide launch of Windows 10, all three major GPU vendors have released new graphics drivers that support Microsoft's new operating system. If you're upgrading to Windows 10, make sure you download and install these drivers soon after launch.
Is AMD planning to release Windows 10 drivers for RadeonHD234k cards too? Are those machines stuck with Windows 7?
I have a Gateway NE56R34u Laptop, I tried to check the drivers in device manager and it seems that everything has been installed properly or no missing drivers found but when I tried to check some of my hardware in DXDIAG showing N/A for (operating system, processor video etc.) I also tried to update it or uninstall the driver but still the same help me out please thank you
I also uploaded some information so atleast it will be easier for some to determine my issue thank you
In dxdiag option and in Display option all 3 acceleration options are not available in my pc. But I had installed the drivers and hardware for graphics then too it showing not available. Can anybody tell me how can I enable all those 3 options. I have Standard VGA Graphics Adaper.
Here is screenshot for reference -
And Only Because Of That I am not able to open any game or sofware which requires display graphics. Any suggestions are most welcomed.
AMD has finally released a new set of Catalyst beta drivers for Radeon graphics cards, promising performance improvements in two recently-released PC titles: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Project Cars.
I dont know why but after 14.4, every driver is causing BSOD and restarts randomly on my R9 290
AMD graphics card owners that have tried playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or Project Cars are likely already aware of the fact that both titles run like crap on Radeon hardware. There's a ton of controversy surrounding what did...
"AMD graphics card owners that have tried playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or Project Cars are likely already aware of the fact that both titles run like crap on Radeon hardware."
At the risk of pointing out the obvious, "runs like crap" doesn't strike me as professional an expression as "runs terribly" or "are both exceptionally poor performers on..." It may convey the sentiments of the accompanying article comments, but those are supposed to be crude.
Ahead of tomorrow's launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Nvidia has released a new GeForce graphics card driver that's Game Ready for the open-world action RPG. The GeForce 352.86 drivers are also WHQL certified, meaning they are stable enough for everyday...
Mine were updated hours ago, you just can't beat GFE for this sort of thing (or for game display settings optimisation as far as I'm concerned, it works for me).
Hi, everyone - I have a dell e4300 - actually I have three. On one, when it is plugged in to charge, the blue light that indicates that it is plugged in and charging, which normally would be blue continuously, is blinking, or oscillatiing, off and on.
I bent the pin on the inside of the cord slightly in order to maybe get a better contact, and bent the barrel slightly for same reason - the blinking is the same.
So, it does not quite seem like this is a weak, variable connection. Also, I get the same thing with another charger cable. Does this mean something?
Well ,the more I look at this, the less regular it seems, but it does come on momentarily every several seconds. It sure is not charged up, despite being plugged in for over 24 hours.
This build will be for my 77 year old mother who lives in another state and I am trying to build this as stable and problem free preventative mode as best as I can with the understanding that any hardware can fail at any time.
Anyway, NewEgg is having both their Blue and Black WD 1TB hard drives on sale that goes off of sale after tomorrow. I know Black is often the choice due to build quality and 5 year warranty. However, the Blue would really help budget wise because every dollar counts and it sees many people have had good success with the Blue.
She does MS Office, email, surfing plus she has an online business that keeps her very busy along with uploading a lot of photos.
Blue. Because of her work tasks.
Connected to a PC monitor is Clear but onscreen has a blue haze even on the welcome screen. What can cause this problem? Thank you
Have you tried another monitor? This symptom is usually caused by a bad connection or a bad monitor

Your GPU maybe going bad, it happens from time to time and this is based on the fact you have uninstalled everything and tried again. Have you also tried lowering the graphics settings in both games lower to see if that helps? Also try making sure Physx is off because thats very demanding for a 740m since Batman has Physx.
My advice is to seek your notebook manufacturer if nothing I said helps and see if they can replace the card in it. I don't know what else off the top of my head you could try since you have done by the sound of things everything correct.
Just got the new mouse home, but to enable aim precision and other programmable buttons and need to get the drivers. When I try to download them it says plug in the device, which is already plugged in and I have also tried in different usb ports and safe mode. Anyone with this mouse got it to work?
I remember when I first lost my Motorolas original CD, I couldn't find the software anywhere to be downloaded and no one that i knew had a motorola rzr mobile phone...
I found my old cd here a few days ago so I made an .iso file of it and uploaded it (as 13 .rar files, the file max size is 50Mb).
Here it is
Tel me if the link doesn't work or something.
Yep that works for me.
I'm not sure whether this is the correct place to post this (I'm new here). Sorry if it's the wrong place!
So my problem is I am running a laptop on windows XP. Every time I start up the computer, it prompts me to install device drivers (HID-compliant devices and stuff). The weird part is, I've already installed those drivers when I first got the computer. I've learned to just press cancel every time those prompts pop up, but I'm wondering if I'm able to stop them from popping up every single time I start the computer. I'm also curious as to why it's doing this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Operating System: Windows XP Service Pack 3
Processor: Intel core 2 duo
RAM: 2GB DDR3 RAM
Brand: Lenovo R500
Graphics: Intel R 4 series express chipset family (on-board)
I'm far from an expert, but why not let them install to see if it quits prompting you? If all else fails, you can roll them back. After all, they could be "updated drivers". Just my thoughts.
Hi all got memory stick and got loads of music pictures etc on there and on a external hard drive but when ever I try to put it al back on laptop or pc it shows with all blue dots and cant do nothing can anyone help thanks in advance

What the title says. I am looking for the best air mover for the lowest sound in that range. Im not expecting close to the best I can get at all.
I dont care about sound THAT much, but my PC now gets rather loud under load and I just want to make sure a bunch of fans (5 or 6) wont contribute to noise.
Oh and also, I just want 2 blue LED ones-im getting a corsair C70 and that already comes with 3 fans so I should be plenty set after that
I recommend these:
Cooler Master JetFlo 120
Enermax Vegas Duo - Haven't tried this, but people say it is a good fan. It has 2 colors also.
These are cheaper, but more noisy options:
Rosewill RFA-120-BL - recommended over the CM one below
Cooler Master 120MM Blue LED
Hello, I'm David, and I am having problems with packet loss. I usually use internet to watch videos, play some games and what not, but recently I started experiencing lags. I googled it up, and then tried to see if my pc had packet loss (pinged google.com -t). I had a 6% packet loss. Then I tried it on my other pc (it is connected to the same router and is half a meter away from other one). It had 0% packed loss. Then I remembered that recently I downloaded some programs and stuff on the pc with the packet loss. Could it be the cause of my packet loss? Thank you to all who at least read my delema.
What Router brand and model are you using?
Are you connected wired or wireless?
Are you connected 100mbps or 1.0 Gbps.
Have you upgraded the firmware on the router lately?
Also have you upgraded the drivers on the PCs network cards?
Have you ever power cycled the power on the router or modem?
Any switches connected to the router? If so, try a different port.
Have you tried a different port on the router?
Packet loss in a router means the router started degrading on the ports side.
Device could be overheating or just have duff ports (bad)
In your case you can also.
1. Backup config settings in the Router
2. Do a Factory Reset will wipe all prior settings out
3. Restore Backup config settings in the Router
If all was tried you should consider replacing the router only as option though.
I've got an Infoprint 1534 that is putting a thin blue streak down the left side of all pages. Someone told me they empty the waste canister when this happens, is that right? I'm not very knowledgeable about printers. There's what appears to be a "waste canister" on the left side which comes out and is full of dark coloured fine dust. Do I dump this out? Any direction is greatly appreciated.
I guess so. Waste is waste! Printers can do funny things when they aren't configured correctly. I'd say that dust is rubbing on each page as it comes out.
Hi all for a while now I been plugging external monitor into my laptop as I do karaoke some times always been fine but now all of a sudden when I plug it in the screen on monitor goes red & blue . tried 4 different monitors and all do the same so was thinking is it a simple driver issue or has something come loose inside on the vga port.. went to a shop and they wanted £90 no wayyyy . all help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated .. thanks
Are you using the same cable when you tested w/ 4 monitors? Something similar happened to me a while back and it was due to a bent pin. I was able to straighten it and fixed the problem.
Guys, after having research in net I have come to know that Nvidia r more supportive about there drivers then ATI.I have found that Nvidia are still taking good care about there 4XX gpu on the other hand ATI get forgot their past cards when new series gpu released(said it on basis of driver).ATI just take care well their latest models but Nvidia also takes care of past models

Bang for buck at time of purchase is usually AMD. Yeah, NVIDIA has better driver support.. but with a mid-range card I'd just go with AMD.
If you aren't spending money to keep up with the times, don't expect the latest releases to run like butter. That's pretty much it.
Hello, I have a Dell desktop PC purchased in 2009 that works great except it will not connect to the internet anymore. I think a first step here is to go to Device Manager and remove any/all network adapters you see there, and then reboot.
Second step would be to get the network adapter driver from Dell's site for your dell desktop and Windows 7.
If step 2 is able to be done (like they don't have a win 7 driver for it) you should still see something in Device Manager even if you don't have a proper driver for it. Windows should be able to give you a hardware ID for it, google that and get the Win 7 driver from the chipset provider/manufacturer.
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ18E which is experience some major problems at the moment.
Firstly, I get 'nvlddmkm' problem about every 10mins or thereabouts which causes the screen to lock, go fuzzy, blank the screen and then revive and become functional again.
This can eventually, or straight away, lead to a total fuzzy screen lock-up where I simply have to hit the off button to restart the computer.
This is also interspersed by various other screens such as those below; mixed pages, blue screen, which seem to have come from the Matrix.
The computer is about four years old and the front left of it can get very hot.
Is it just knackered?
Would a re-format and re-install do the trick?
Any ideas or solutions?
The Nvidia graphics chip on the motherboard is probably over heating. The CPU/GPU cooling port may be clogged with dust or the thermal pads or paste need to be cleaned and replaced
Hi all I normally buy my screens from ebay but does anyone know anywhere cheap . im from london uk so pref in uk please .. thanks
What's wrong with still using EBay? I get all my screens from EBay suppliers
I have just noticed that my keyboard doesn't work on certain screens. Specifically the system restore screen where I have to label the restore point. I cant type anything in. I don't get the blinking cursor in the input box. I get the italic I cursor when I put the arrow cursor in the box but when I left click to anchor the cursor and start typing nothing happens. So maybe a mouse problem too. I noticed it in a software registration window too. Running windows xp sp3. microsoft usb keyboard and a wireless logitech mouse
Thanks for any help

Before this I tried to recover files by any means necessary, to no avail it dleted all my files and drivers. I installed win 7 and realized I had no drivers. From the Toshiba website I installed all drivers for my model L655D-5066. Everything works except the sound. Hi all! Please help! My wife's notebook, (ASUS G71GX, Win 7, wireless card Atheros AR928X), wireless connection to our home LAN (D-Link DIR-655) suddenly stopped. It shows the available networks, but cannot connect to it. The hardware manager shows no problem with the wireless card.
I'm not sure what the problem is, but could it be the drivers, not the hardware? So far, I uninstalled and re-installed the driver for the AR928X. No changes, but maybe I didn't do it right.
Could someone help out, please?
Never mind. Thanks. I ended up deleting my home network, and then re-creating it. That solved the problem, even though I still do not understand how that worked
I currently have a gtx 560 ti and I'm acquiring a gtx 670. So, in the end, both cards will be under the hood. The 670 will go into the currently 560 ti slot and the 560 ti will go into the currently empty slot. Both use the same driver, do I have to reinstall it, or just stick the new gpu to the mobo and be happy ever after?
Generally, I say you should always re-install graphics drivers when adding a new card.
What is the reason for running both cards at the same time?
I recently bought a 1TB external drive in the first month was the paradise of about three months here been hell ...
The problem is that the windows when i connect the disk, sometimes it correctly detects and installs the correct drivers, other times it detects wrong and installs other wrong drivers.
When you install the wrong windows drivers in Disk Manager says that is not present or does not detect the capacity, despite the indication that I have the the connected USB device. Another indicator light is always on the disc, rather than intermittently (indicating that it is accessing data) ...
To be even more difficult the drivers are registry keys ...
Have tested it on several PC with W7 and XP sp3 and the problem still occurs ...
Have I contacted the support of the disc but the impression I got is that understand of hardware even less than me ...
Can you help me please!!
OMG! what is the brand/make/model of the external drive in question?!? I have never heard of a known brand to do something like that unless the enclosure itself is hosed and/or beginning to fail. Post back & let me know, take care!
hi, i got a new 42 inch t.v and hooked it up to my pc. i use the small one for browsing and want to use the 42 for gaming. when i try to start gta4 i sign into RGSC then the game starts to load and just as the game should pop up both screens flicker then i get an error, this is probably due to the trainer i use. i can start need for speed world with no problems but it only plays on my smaller screen, could anyone give me an easy to use guide on how to fix my problem ?
Hi guys, bought a new PC recently and got everything set up fine, except the GPU.
Its all installed correctly but when I go to install the drivers from either Windows Update or the given CD and restart to save changes, I lose video signal.
I see the boot screen and Windows 7 loading bar, afterwards my screen says "Mode not supported".
I'm using the Nvidia 560 Ti and my screen is a Samsung LE19R86BD.
Is the installation possibly switching to 1080 while my monitor isn't supporting it?
I've read that there are times when the driver can't properly read the EDID data from the TV, and causes display problem. Can you boot into safe mode, change the display setting to 1440x900, then reboot into normal mode? Looks like your nVidia card has both HDMI & DVI connection, maybe try changing connection from one type to the other?
The driver I found on nVidia's site is version 285.62. Is that what you have?
A few of us here at Techspot were pondering how prevelent gaming on multi-monitor desktops is, and this poll is looking to gain some insight into the answer.
Hopefully we get enough votes from the Techspot membership to give us a reasonably valid snapshot.
The choices are:
2.Multiple screens (please add your native screen resolution)
As a secondary question you can add in the comments section:
If you are presently using a single standard LCD/CRT monitor of 1980 x 1080 or lower and had the budget to afford to either buy multi-monitor for gaming, or spend the equivalent budget on a single screen of better colour reproduction (i.e. a 27"-30" 2560x1440 or 2650x1600 display) which would you opt for...or would you use the budget on other componentry ?
Thank you for your participation. There are no prizes.
I'll start the ball rolling....
Given the pricing structure I would always opt for quality of colour reproduction over extra screen real estate.
1900x1200 (HP ZR24W) primary rig, 1920x1080 (VX2433wm - TN panel) secondary, 1920x1080 (Samsung Bordeaux 6 HDTV for HTPC duties)
Hello, First of all thanks to anyone who can help.
Here is my problem: I just built my brother his computer for Xmas and everything is brand new and the computer is "working". Yet every time I start a game or try to get the system rating the comp either freezes, restarts, or blue screens. I've updated the video card half a dozen times and It says that it is updated yet problems still occur.
Here are the specs
OS- Windows 7 64bit
Video card- AMD Radeon HD 6900
Processor- AMD 6 core 6100
Motherboard- 990FX Sabertooth
Power- antec 900w
HD- 2 terabyte
Although that processor is supported by the motherboard, it's possible that the BIOS is an older version, pre-FX.
There is a laptop I want to purchase which is described to have an "intermittent graphics fault" where the screen turns green.
I have read that this is definitely a hardware error, some pointing out the video cable as being loose.
I was wondering if you guys are familiar with this problem and what is required to fix it.
Thanks in advance.
Honestly, I would avoid any laptop that has that issue because you don't know what is causing it and if you have to replace the screen the cost is often more than what you would pay for a new system.
Can you link us to this laptop or give us more details about this unit?
Hi all i have what porbably are dumb questions but i need clarification all the same please i just bought a XFX HD GPU upon your recomendation and was wondering if i should uninstall all the nVidia stuff in add and remove except the driver before i remove the card or just remove the card install my new one then uninstall the nvidia stuff I have a spare gigabyte GT GPU which i would like to give to my dad as he has an old Pack-Bell iMedia which he uses in the lounge to watch Uninstall for installation? drivers fresh GPU films on and browse the net Uninstall drivers for fresh GPU installation? The PSU in this old machine is only a watt and the GT reqiures a w minimum but as he wont be playing games or doing any photo editing etc only watching mp films would the PSU still power it reason i ask is it has a HDMI connection and his stock card is the old blue pin plug so i thought is would get a better pic using my new card also the GT is mb and the stock one is only mb Your thoughts please Thanks Lee nbsp
1. Yes, you can remove all the Nvidia components through Add/Remove, although it's probably easier to download a utility such as Driver Sweeper which will remove the driver, PhysX, HD audio, Update etc in one move... Just remember that the system will likely revert to a lower VGA (640 x 480) screen resolution.
You can then power down, replace the card and install the driver/catalyst control centre etc.
Once you're up and running it would pay to bring up the Device Manager, click the "View" tab and check "Show hidden devices", then expand the "Display adapters" heading. If your previous card shows up -right click and select uninstall.
2. You say that your dad's computer is an "old Pack-Bell..". Power supplies gradually lose their effective output over time as components in the power supply wear, so his 250w PSU is likely much less. The GT210 isn't a power hog by any means (30.5w max) but picking up a suitable (and relatively cheap) PSU might be a good investment in any case, especially if the computer/PSU are 5+ years old.
The audio on my Asus P E DELUXE WiFi-AP motherboard does not appear to work Windows says that there is no audio output device installed As on from Asus Win7, install device audio won't No drivers such when I plug my speakers in I get No audio device on Win7, drivers from Asus won't install no sound and the sound icon in the notification area continues to display a red circle with an quot x quot The High Definition Audio Controller is installed under Device Manager and appears to be normal However it is listed under System Devices There is no listing for Sound Video amp Game Controllers I am not sure if this is applicable to Win I have disabled and re-enabled the audio controller I have uninstalled it and let Windows reinstall it All to no avail For what it s worth the controller appears to be using a standard No audio device on Win7, drivers from Asus won't install Microsoft driver System info says that no sound devices are installed I have verified multiple times that onboard audio is enabled in the BIOS I have tried disabling the audio in the BIOS booting into Windows shutting down and then re-enabling the onboard audio No go I have attempted to reinstall the Soundmax drivers from ASUS They don t install I receive an error message saying that the audio driver files do not support my hardware I am sure that I am trying to install the correct drivers There is no software installed that would be interfering with the audio and all services look normal Any ideas nbsp
which speakers are you using and which driver?
because most of the speakers are plug n play...
Hi, sorry, not very good at this sort of thing, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
1) Thursday night - mouse was working. Sunday evening, mouse is not working.
2) In the device manager it tells me I have two HID-compliant mouse drivers, location: "On USB Input Device" - I only have one USB input for my mouse. I tried disabling one of the drivers to see if it was a conflict problem. No luck.
Any ideas? The mouse is a "Wireless Optical Mouse M/N:SM-502C"

Could the fact that it isn't recognized by my PC be do to a lack of power from my psu? I have a raidmax 530w psu and min for the card is 400 so I figured I was okay... There is no place on the card to hook a cable from the psu to. It gets all its power straight from the MB... I dunno if that info will help any

Im doing a standard XP install on a Sony Vaio PCG-8112m, but i can't seem to find any drivers, the computer came with Vista.
Is there anywhere you can download XP drivers for this? Or any laptop drivers that would be compatable for the network driver ECT?
Thanks for help
Can you install Windows 7? If there are no XP drivers listed on the Sony Support site for this laptop, you're out of luck
MY mother has a Dell Laptop with Windows Vista. After the computer being on a bit the fan starts making this horrible sound and sometimes the she gets the blue screen and causes the computer to restart. Anyone ever seen or heard of this?
Does the laptop appear to be getting hotter and hotter as you use it? Are you sure that the fan is actually spinning/the cause of the sound.
Sounds to me like the fan could be faulty. I've also had large clumps of dust (Large enough to stop the fan spinning) caught in the fanblades, meaning I had to disassemble the laptop to resolve the issue.
You could try giving the fan/air filter a blow out with compressed air and see what happens/if it improves. Also make sure that the fan is actually spinning to start with.
What does the noise sound like also?
Hi i went to my pc this morning and the monitor light just keeps flashing blue ive turned the power all off and restarted several times but still no display and still blue flashing light i did clean the dust out of my pc a week ago all worked fine after im really at a loss of wat to try anyone there that might be able to suggest wat i do i was thinking of sending my pc monitor to be repaired but i worried they will say all sorts of things are wrong when it might be something simple its not under warranty anymore many My monitor flashing blue display light, a LG no has thanks helen just tried turning pc after disconnecting my monitor lead and my pc is now making a rather loud whirling noise i My LG monitor has a flashing blue light, no display plugged the lead back in and isstill flashing blue and pc isstill now making the whirlinf sound its my monitor not pc ive tried a different monitor and my pc works fine on it any advice on wether to buy a new monitor or is it worth geting this one fixed nbsp My LG monitor has a flashing blue light, no display

Assuming that the monitor in question is a LCD ?
You could hold a torch up close to the screen and if you can see the normal screen (the one that's there normally there when your computer boots) then the problem is the back-light for the screen -may be repairable.

However you might also find on the monitor manufacturers site a list of "Blink-codes" which will be interpretative in much the same way as Morse Code. And this may have implications to what is actually wrong internally with the unit.
Forgive any typos as I'm post this via iPod. So after a weekend of horse crap Internet speed on the laptop (and not a hiccup in speed on the PS3). I figured I'd try updating my wireless adapter drivers. Atheros AR5007EG wireless network adapter. After downloading and installing, the computer doesn't recognize any wireless networks. I know mine is working and also know there are at least 4 others in the apartment complex. That being said I know it is on the computers end. I rolled back the driver to the one that worked with no success.
Laptops specs are as follows:
Vista home premium SP2 32bit
Toshiba satellite L355D
AMD Turion X2 dual core mobile RM-72 2.1GHz
Atheros AR5007EG version 188.8.131.52 (new version)
I just recently tried my hand at building my own pc and im not getting a first boot screen and well im pretty sure the motherboard is getting power since the cpu fan is spinning and everything of that nature. But no bios setup screen and i didnt think my cpu was fried or damage but when i lifted it out of the motherboard theres three pins that are blue on the top left of the cpu could this mean that my processor is bad i dont have a spare to test right now just wondered if anyone had any ideas what might be going on.
This is what i got
Gigabyte GA-H67M-D2 Mobo
Intel i5 2300 2.8ghz
Kingston 2gb Ram x2 KHX1600C9D3B1K2/4GX
Sparkle ATX 500W PSU
It came together in a kit so i assumed everything was compatible if anyone can help me id appreciate it
I'll assume the 3 pins are in the corner indicating the orientation of the CPU. Start out simple and take the mobo out of the case and put in on some cardboard and try to power it with just ram, cpu, and cpu cooler attached. If you get a screen, you should be ok.
if your pins are "burnt" then yeah, that's bad - you got a short.
I recently bought a computer in december last year Dell Intel R Xeon R CPU GHz GHz GB of RAM Running on Windows XP professional and with blue restarting devices No screen BIOS and AHCI not problems issues installed, found, an ASUS EAH silent GB graphics card and yes all drivers are installed and up No devices found, AHCI BIOS not installed, blue screen issues and problems restarting to date The problem i have is that when i turn my computer on it says no devices found and that AHCI BIOS is not installed and when i am on my computer mostly when playing games No devices found, AHCI BIOS not installed, blue screen issues and problems restarting my screen which is an Akura quot LCD TV DVD combi goes to blue screen and says no signal and any music that was playing becomes a loud repeated thumping like when a cd gets stuck The only option i have is to turn the computer off via the on off button by holding it in until it turns off After this my computer wont restart for - tries and instead when i press the on button a small lights up on the front and it makes a second buzzing noise repeated with a second inbetween and does not load up so i have to turn it off via the button Any ideas whats wrong and what does AHCI BIOS not installed actually mean nbsp
Do you have a single drive or multiple drives setup in a RAID configuration? The message you are seeing is fine (and normal) if you have no RAID. It usually will just pass it so quickly that you didn't notice it was there. How long have you let the pc set at that error message?

I have a geforce 9600gso card that has been working fine for a year or so.
A few days ago while ALT-TABBING between a game and website my PC crashed and when it came back on the graphics card wasnt working correctly.
In the device manager it shows an error code 43 and is saying the the drivers installed correctly but wouldnt run.
I have updated the drivers and reinstalled the card a few times.
Ocasionally it comes back up working correctly, but seems to crash again after a few minutes (if i run a game or the screensaver comes on.)
Oh yes, running Vista 32 bit

Since you are having a graphics issue in both the BIOS startup screen and while Windows is open, it does sound like a graphics card problem and not a driver problem. Do you have another graphics card to substitute for test purposes?
I've just finished installing a new motherboard (Asus P5P43TD) into a friend's computer about 2 hours ago and have been unable to get the USB ports working. I installed the chipset drivers, Ethernet controller drivers, and Asus EPU-4 drivers, but the USB ports simply do not function. Which means I have to do everything with a friggin keyboard. That has made things interesting to say the least. I grabbed the most recent chipset drivers off of Asus's website and it installed the SMBus drivers (which I beleive are responsible for USB) and everything else. Any help is greatly appreciated.

For a while now, I've been curious to know what the differences are in the Western Digital Caviar Series.
So far as I know, Black is high performance, Green is eco-friendly and slow, but I'm not sure what the Blue series has to offer, other than a lower price tag.
Can anyone clearify what the techinical differences are between Black and Blue? For high performace reasons, I bought the Black series for my tower, but what would I have been missing out on had I gone for the Blue series?
Thanks in advance.
In theory, the Black is supposed to be the faster drive. In actuality, there isn't much between them. Speed rather depends on platter size and cache - The Black drives are either 32 or 64Mb cache, while the Blue drives top out at 32Mb.
Black drives carry a five year warranty, while Blue drives are three years which is probably of more significance.
should i be using the manufacturers (powercolour) driver or the latest ATI driver? the card is a powercolour 5870 pcs+.
thanks for any help.
I would go with the driver from the AMD/ATI website because it will be the latest available. I happen to have a Powercolor Radeon HD 5780 PCS+ in one of my PCs and that's where I go for drivers.
A few months ago I updated my copy of Windows Vista to Windows technically I didn t use the UPDATE option I instead used the New Partition option Big mistake I ve been finding Ever since I ve been trying to recover my programs and drivers and it s been continuing with some degrees Issues drivers Asus conversion 7 updating after Windows of success However I Issues updating Asus drivers after Windows 7 conversion ve been having a great deal of trouble obtaining and installing the Windows Asus drivers Just before posting this I had attempted to Issues updating Asus drivers after Windows 7 conversion install the apparently latest version of Asus Live Update downloaded directly from their website and it gave me absurd error messages that were Issues updating Asus drivers after Windows 7 conversion just a series of symbols and then said quot No ASUS motherboard Installation will be abooted now quot Literally that s what it said Basically I m trying desperately to recover my Asus drivers so I can once again retain the full functionality of my laptop Asus download page is of course totally useless in this endeavor providing little or no support only including the insanely vast array of drivers to download And now my questions -Is there some way to obtain these drivers much more easily -Is there some sort of programming confliction such as incompatibility with the driver download and Windows that is preventing the InstallShield Wizard from working correctly I am using an Asus X V b and I m trying mainly to recover the following drivers all drivers that have directories in the ASUS folder in my program files -Asus LifeFrame -Asus Live Update -ATK Hotkey -ATK Media -ATKOSD not sure what it is -InstantFun -SmartCore -SmartLogon -Splendid All in all I simply need help getting my drivers back I ve been losing my mind trying to retrieve them and am looking for the aid of someone far more technically advanced than myself Any help is appreciated Thank you nbsp
I have been using the free download program called 'Drivereasy' from 'www.drivereasy.com'. I use the version 2.6.1 which scans your PC, lists all the drivers missing or needing updates, and you can choose to download and/or install. In fact the free version is quite slow to use, but you can pay for a faster version if wanted. I find the information it gives about the drivers is accurate, so you can get them elsewhere if you like. The biggest drivers on my PC are the Graphic card, but I know to get that one elsewhere. This site does not charge for the downloads either, unlike many. Worth a try.
I am experiencing blue shadows to the right of objects on my screen, but only some objects. For instance, all of this text has the shadows, as does my cursor over the text box and interactive objects on wepages, but my background image on my desktop and my cursor when over any part of my desktop are not shadowed. File folders and the like do not have the shadows, whereas they seem to appear in all applications. (I just tested pdfs and paint, they've both got the shadows next to all dark spots.)
Any ideas? I don't even know where to start. First noticed this after a restart a few hours ago.
Try another monitor or try your monitor on another PC to eliminate that as a possibility. However, it sounds like the graphics card is failing. You could try to reinstall or update the graphics driver since it costs nothing to try.
What graphics adapter do you have?
I am new here and hlping that someone could please help me with my problem. I have a acer aspire 5810tz , I was running windows vista but upgraded to windows 7 my internal microphone stop working. I downloaded the drivers for the realtek microphone and restarted my computer. Well the microphone works but the internet will not. I have a data card that I used thru alltel to get online. If I remove the realtek driver that I added my internet goes back to working. I am not understanding what I am doing wrong. I went to acer and that is where I am doing loading the drivers from so I dont think I have the wrong drivers. Could someone please help me with this problem.
That is a common problem with ACER... VISTA Drivers and Windows 7 drivers are different, and they generally do not make updated drivers for machines designed for VISTA and converted to Windows 7
hello, so im a noobie when it comes to fixing my comp. i have reinstaled windows and i have driver robot and updated all my stuff yet my sound still wont work. i have tried going into control panel and tried to add hardware and nothing. i have tried "Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
then find the Windows Audio Service in the list
If it is stopped, restart it" i dont kno anything about my comp other than its an hp lol. i dont have a credit card to download Everest. im runnin out of ideas and i dont want to by a new comp! please help! it would be much appreciated
Are you using a laptop, or a desktop? What model HP are you using (if it's a laptop, the model # will be on a sticker located on the bottom of the laptop. If it's a desktop, it should be on the front, or back)? Instead of Everest, try Belarc advisor's free download .
What OS are you using?
Right click on "Computer" on the desktop, and select "Manage". Under "System Tools" on the left side, select "Device Manager" and look to see if your sound card is working properly. Don't worry about the services just yet.
As for your Driver Robot program, I suggest you uninstall it and get a refund. http://www.computing.net/answers/security/driver-robot-blitware-scams/28802.html Get a good antivirus program as well, and follow the steps listed here

Ah, I had a similar problem once and nothing seemed to work.
In the end I convinced myself that it's time to format my HDD and reinstall my OS anyhow. lol
Firstly, am new to this site so sorry if this has been posted before.
I have a problem with my USB memory stick. I was using it fine with no problem but now when i plug it in a bubble comes up saying it has not been recognised and has malfunctioned - when i click on the bubble it says unknown device and then when i click on that it says in device status box that no drivers are installed. How do I get drivers? Memory stick was free from an ICT company, laptop is a toshiba?
What do I do, memory stick has so much work on it that I need!
Please help me!
Am running XP, my other memory sticks work???
I have this issue sometimes with a SDHC card I use for readyboost in Windows 7 on my laptop.
I find that ejecting it via My Computer (right click the icon and eject) or from the "Safely Remove" hardware icon on the taskbar, and then re-inserting it solves the problem and its recognised again.
I sometimes have to do it several times though before it recognises. I'm sure there is an easier solution, but it works for me.
I have two webcams, one by Nexxtech and another by MIOS - rather non-descript USB Camera.
The Nexxtech camera seems to need a driver - I have installed it. But the MIOS likely uses the one in Win XP SP3. Why is that? Why won't one driver work for both cameras?
Rationale: I want to develop some software to process the live video, but could one piece of software be used for both cameras?
I am a noob about web cams and video processing.
Hi louarnold
A few comments
The drivers which can be used by a web cam are dictated by the web cam manufacturer
The mfr programs a set of "IDs" into each of their devices (such as web cams). The device sends its IDs to Windows. Windows uses these IDs to find suitable drivers which will match (i.e. "support") the IDs. (Window can find zero, or one or even more then one match!)
> If Windows finds zero driver matches, you get a "No Driver Found" type of error
> If Windows only finds one driver match, it uses that driver
> If Windows finds more then one driver match on your machine, Windows chooses what it thinks is the best match of all the matching choices it found on your machine.
See Plug and Play Overview: How Windows Finds Drivers for USB Devices

Am just curious though, if you say you're a noob, will you know how to do all the video processing to do what you want?

I have an ATI Radeon HD3650 AGP series card in my PC & it plays most games great, but the only thing is the support for drivers.
I've tried quite a few & there's always a problem, so i currently have a hot-fix installed.
Anyone know of any custom drivers for this card ?
You probably won't find any new drivers for AGP, especially since you didn't mention OS type. If you still have the CD that came with your card that may be the best you can do, sorry.

Is best to upgrade to SP3 (if only because MS has dropped support for SP2) but can start, for now, looking at your problem while you continue running with SP2
Let's start with these initial steps
1) List any Problem Devices
Make sure all your devices are connected and powered on
Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
2) Generate and attach a DirectX report
click Start->Run, enter dxdiag
Notice progress in lower left window corner
When done, click Save Information button and save to your Desktop
In TechSpot, use the paper clip icon to attach the report. (If you don't see icon you may need to first click Go Advanced)
3) If there were no Problem Devices (step 1 above) then also check on your Windows Audio service if Status=Started and StartupType=Automatic
I'll have a look and we can take it from there
Hi I have been working on a Dell Inspiron S and am unable to get the video and now audio drivers loaded and working correctly Here s the deal According to the Dell tag info online this cpu uses either the onboard Nvidia nforce SE n video card or an ATI Pro There is no external video card so the Nvidia should be right This is confirmed by programs like HWinfo However someone did install ATI catalyst software at some earlier point At first only the video card driver was not loaded properly and so Vista Home Premium -bit was in VGA-compatible mode I tried to load NVIDIA Nforce WHQL drivers for Vista -bit which completed without errors Upon rebooting though I could see in Device Manager that the drivers didn t take I have also tried Dell s recommended R an executable that loads Nvidia s MCP ver Dell audio not Realtek drivers Nvidia and working Inspiron on video A drivers and no matter what I do Device Manager says I now have an Nvidia video and Realtek audio drivers not working on Dell Inspiron unknown device or a VGA-compatible display adapter Unloading and reinstalling did not help I noticed SP was not loaded so tried installing it to see if that would help It loaded no problem but then I saw as another update a Realtek audio driver update I let it load and now have no audio I have tried both Dell s recommended Realtek driver R which is for the ALC HD audio device and loads Realtek s R audio drivers and a newer R version for Vista that I got from Realtek s site Both install fine but rebooting results in Device Manager disabling the Realtek device If I enable it it wants to reinstall drivers But doing so either fails when trusting Windows to do it because it says I already have the correct drivers OR I can load them reboot and find the process happening all over again It always tells me there is no audio output device installed So far I have updated the BIOS run Driver Sweeper to clean out all ATI and NVIDIA display and physix drivers as well as all sound-related drivers and tried the above in Safe Mode as well Nothing works I am at a loss Both devices are acting as if they are disabled somehow but I see no reason for it in the BIOS or anywhere else Ugh This is very frustrating If anyone can help I would really appreciate it Thanks nbsp

hi new here and im trying to figure out a problem i had with my laptop. I turned it on and got the blue screen of death saying that windows encounter a problem and needs to shut down to protect the computer. That is a far as i got on reading it before it shut down, and now it wont even turn back on. the only thing that turns on is the power light and that is it. is there a way to fix it or is it just dead completely.I dont hear anything when i turn it on either is just the ights. im completely stumped and need a little help thanks
what is the make and model of the laptop and have you made any hardware changes recently?
Recently my LCD monitor blue and Red screen on lines started showing red and blue lines in certain areas of the screen especially outlining images I at first thought that someone had tinkered with the monitor display settings and made the reds and blues more intense but I found that messing around with the color settings did nothing to Red and blue lines on screen get rid of these lines My monitor then died a few days Red and blue lines on screen later although I m not sure if it s a coincidence so I Red and blue lines on screen replaced it with an older monitor and that one as well showed the red and blue lines so I replaced it again with the same result I figured that it s not a problem with the monitor because I took a screenshot of my problem saved it as a png file and emailed it to myself on another computer and on that computer the red and blue lines do not appear in the image I have an NVIDIA GeForce SE nForce video card that came with the computer and my OS is Windows -bit Any help is much appreciated thanks nbsp
You have to swap out the graphics card. It's really the only way to eliminate the video card as the source of the problem. Goofy lines like that can be symptomatic of the video card failing. If the driver in the machine didn't have a problem before, and there haven't been any other major changes in the hard or software configuration, stands to reason that the card is the prime suspect.
I'm not exactly sure where in the video system a screen shot is taken, but it seems certain it's well before that actual screen output. Were we using the same video connecting cable on all the different screens? Beause you might try another monitor cable first if it was.

I'm currently trying to figure out how I uninstall my video drivers, the only option I've found uninstalls the chip-set as opposed to the actual drivers
Any help would be greatly appreciated
What operating system are you using and what graphics card do you have?
Motherboard: ASUS A8N-E
Video Card: ASUS Radeon EAX500
CPU: Athlon 64 X2 @ 2Ghz
Operating system: Windows XP
Here is what happened. I went to the ASUS site and downloaded and installed the latest drivers for the video card. I then restarted as instructed and from then on, I get a blank screen when turning the pc on. I cant even see BIOS.
I have tried using a different PCI slot, a different video card, a different vga and dvi cable, and resetting BIOS but nothing. I have access to another PC and external enclosure if I need to use it. Thanksin advance
Please give me some details. The bios doesn't even post because of black screen so would I have to connect the mobo to a different PC and update? If so, how would I update it. This isn't something I've done before but I have enough experience to understand instructions. Thanks.

I thought i would post my idea of a new build i am planning to do and see if anyone has any ideas or if there is a cheaper way of achieving what i want I would like a computer which will run screens side by side and will be powerful enough to run multiple applications Ideally i want to spend around on the tower itself quad High screens using computer for performance Screens peripherals are not necessary i have done some specs myself this is what i came up with There is no need for a huge HDD since i High performance computer for using quad screens have a external hard drive and all files will be stored on there i personally feel an SSD will be High performance computer for using quad screens the way forward for just the OS which will hopefully provide a welcome speed boost Intel Core i GHz Socket LGA MB L Cache - ASUS P P D Evo iP Socket LGA channel audio ATX Motherboard - x Corsair GB x GB DDR MHz PC - XMS DHX Memory Kit - ea Antec EarthWatts W PSU - Plus Certified cm Fan x V Rails - Coolermaster Elite Case - Intel X -M GB quot Solid State Hard Drive SSD SATAII - x MSI GT MB GDDR DVI VGA HDMI Out PCI-E - ea The whole set up would be running Windows Home Premium bit i know i have slightly overdone the PSU but there will be quite a few things pulling power from the USB ports etc and i would rather play it safe The computers usage will not be used for gaming but it will be used for multiple programs running and lots and lots of real time updating internet pages such as bloomberg etc This spec i have pulled from ebuyer for around Any chopping and swapping ideas welcome this is the foundation stage development so fire away Many thanks to everyone in advance i look forward to your comments Regards AC nbsp
Any reason that you're buying 2 9800GTs? The Radeon HD 5830 would be around £170 and might be a better buy.
Also you may consider THIS mobo.
Hi whenever i try to play any video or so the computer reboots and shows blue screen saying quot STOP x E XCOOOOOO X F XABC C X quot I tried updating drivers B the problem of video playing was just that whenever i start to play a video it just get paused and never plays ahead but i can still move the slide bar and it shows the video But now the problem is more intense so please help i have nothing newly installed in my CPU expect another sound card shows and reboots video? any blue screen Help after playing computer as the one b stopped working It wont give any sound out of any thing so But another thing when i installed a new sound card Help computer shows blue screen and reboots after playing any video? It didnt work too lt I ordered another one now I have Intel R Pentium R D CPU GHz GHz GB of RAM Video card ATI RADEON XPRESS Windows xp By the way this problem started after installing that new sound card in try of repairing windows i did dual boot problem of windows xp in same disk tho its fixed cleaning inside of CPU with blower nbsp
please do a mem test on the ram
however the graphics card looks like it requires an update
the ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 is a June 2005 card so if you are trying to play anything with HD content embeded in the video stream...your computer will bottleneck and freeze
Well I have a 3 year old pc with intel 82915g/gv/910gl chipset
if I install windows 7 , will my chipset work
I have drivers just for xp, I searched for even vista driver, but I didnt found them.
They will be on the website of the manufacturer... or with help from their tech support site.
Generally the chipset will work... but others can be a frustration.
Chipset upgrades, if needed, are found on the Intel website... It is a struggle to find where.
What is your brand, model, and configuration.
Hello Everybody. I have a Net Vista 8703-41u. I reloaded windows and now I can not get the sound to work. It is not the driver as it gives error message saying something about a bus issue. Is this a problem that would happen if the chipset isn't loaded. Can somebody clarify for me?
Does anybody have any ideas for this issue? would appreciate it. Thanks
hi all, i firstly are pretty new to computers!, but recently i reinstalled xp home edition, but on completion i found in device manager some features had ? in yellow, sm bus controller, unknown device, video controller, video controller (vga compatable), & my pc is not running correctly at all i think due to these missing drivers?! can anyone please shed some light where i have gone wrong? thank you
Reinstalling Windows will require the installation of those drivers. You didn't do anything wrong. It just is. Go to the PC manufacturer's (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) for most of those drivers if you don't have a driver CD. If the PC is self built or custom built, then go to the motherboard maker's website for those drivers. Go to the graphics card maker's website for graphics drivers.
Hi all Bit of a strange one that has me dvi LCD issues Playback Ray Blue on baffled I have a Compaq pc it has an LG GGC-H l blue ray player Blue Ray Playback issues on LCD dvi which came pre bundled with Cyberlink Powerdvd ultra I have just tried a new blue ray film and it wouldnt load I had to download a patch critical according to Cyberlink This didnt help at all as now the software Powerdvd just crashes when play is clicked Am awaiting assistance from Cyberlink They did send me links to download the software and patch but that had the same effect So I tried Arcsoft blue ray software the same result I then decided to test PowerDvd Ultra and that crashed BUT I tried using Windows Media Centre and it got as far as Loading Blue Ray Movie then crashed but said it was a security issue I had to change my DVi monitor for a VGA one Very odd I thought Luckily I had a lcd VGA monitor here to try so I changed them over and low and behold the Blue ray film now plays Im gutted as my dvi monitor is quot widescreen and is a much nicer picture and the quot is just that quot and small anyone know why this is the case with blue ray security Im not quite sure of the message it gave just basically said my current digital display was not possible due to security on the film disc and that I should try a VGA analogue display I thought the whole idea of blue ray was to be digital for quality My games all play fine etc on large screen Im wondering if this is why so many people are having issues with blue ray playback on LG drives with Powerdvd etc The security warning is not visible on the powerdvd software as a standalone product it only shows when using Windows Media Centre which utilizes the cyberlink powerdvd software to play I also find it odd that only Tower Pc s seem to have issues with blue ray playback yet my laptop Acer which has blue ray has NO such trouble playing films This security nonsence is going a bit far when it is affecting those of us with genuine films and genuine software and hardware Thanks all hope someone can shed some light on this for me Edit quot Fail to enable HDCP Please switch to analog output VGA D-Sub and try again It would appear the issue is my newer quot lcd widescreen is not HDCP compliant so will not playback whereas my graphics card gtx is capable of the signal monitor is not how weird all because of security on the disc how is this security it only stops me playing it on my one monitor not an older monitor baffled even more nbsp
HDCP ensures that you are sending your signal to an approved display device. If you send your image out digitally then the device receiving it must support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection.) If you are watching this via an analog connection then the output is at a reduced resolution.
Hey there everyone! I'm pretty new to this forum but i really need your help.
Earlier today i experience 2 different BSOD erros at different times, and for no apparent reason.
I'm not sure what the reason is for either of them since i just reformatted earlier today. I have the dump file for each of the BSODs. It is attached.
Could anyone possibly tell me what the problem could be? Thanks in advance
I have a motherboard that came from HP xw3100. Part number is 323091-001. HP d530 has the exact same mobo, based on the part number.
Strangely, on HP's website xw3100's BIOS and drivers have not been updated since 2003 whereas d530 has more recent versions. So, can I use the BIOS and drivers for d530 on this?
If your Computer was manufactured in the Model run that you quote as "2003 era" then this is your BIOS driver. The difference between the two MoBo might not be that significant but if you really want check get a magnifying glass and check all the stripes on all the DIODES. One different colored line or different combination of the all the same colors but in a different sequence is an actual difference in manufacturing technique. Maybe you should use a microscope just in-case the difference is only that big.
I use a BIOS driver for my Gigabyte GA-8GE800 Pro MoBo that were last released in 2004. I update with these in-case my current drivers become corrupted eg. refresh to make new-like
LookinAround I need your help again, I moved for a new job and in the process lost the disk containing the audio drivers you made for me. Here is a link to the post involved. Any way you can help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you !!
You can probably pick up the audio drivers by running Windows Update in the custom mode and download and install all critical and hardware updates listed
I am looking for the oem drivers for a cicero cpu. Model is ca113a-1, specifically for the ehternet driver. Cant find these anywhere without going to Futureshop.
so...i've been having this problem with a pattern of blue lines appearing on my monitor since friday...shown here
which...after reading around is either my video card...or my entire computer crapping out =/
so...these appear whether or not my video card is on or off...they're currently not there, and my video card IS off, but...i'm sure that if i restart once again, they will be there.
if it's any help, i'm using a vaio vgn-fz348e
and when my computer starts to load, about 95% of the time, i see this
i'm really at the end of my rope...please tell me what's wrong x( there used to be a sony service store around here...but they closed up like 8 months ago. GR!
but your help would be appreciated!
looks like the screen itself may be on it's way out... or already there.
if possible, I would try reinstalling the video drivers
only read the tittle
Here's an idea. Check Thermaltake's product specification page.
Are you attempting to win the title of "Most threads started that could be answered by a simple Google search" ?
I can't explain why but suddenly none of sound drivers including the Windows defaults are showing in the Control Panel for sounds or audio. I've reinstalled the driver for my Delta 44 card three times, ran repair on XP Pro twice and still no show or sound. All drivers are listed as working in Device Manager. I see on the internet that this is not uncommon, but how do you fix it?
Hmmmm.. Are you saying the default Sounds and Audio is also missing from Control Panel???? Is your sound otherwise working OK? It's just the stuff missing from Control Panel???
I don't know i have an answer.. but here's some info/things to try
> Note the "drivers" are what you see in Device Manager (so good they're still there!)
> The stuff in Control Panel aren't the drivers.
To try restoring the Control Panel applets try
> Look in Add/Remove programs. Do you see an entry for your Delta 44? Uninstall it
> Reboot and then try reinstalling the Delta44 stuff
Also, you should also be able to start the standard Windows Sound and Audio applet by Start->Run, enter: mmsys.cpl then click OK
I went to turn on my Asus P Q-E and got the following It started up but no single beep or BIOS screen Then it turned off for about Please Direction MB Me Fault Help! 0n In Point Right The seconds then it starts back up but no BIOS screen or beep just power to fans etc I have tried clearing the CMOS swapping out memory PSU other known good one does the same Please Help! Point Me In The Right Direction 0n MB Fault thing with the board RAM I know it s good Video Card Is this symptomatic of a bad CPU Or is this my worst fear - I put the video card from this system into my test bed system which has a slightly different board and now it won t even boot although the original board Please Help! Point Me In The Right Direction 0n MB Fault s lights and the test bed system board lights fire up just fine and I can even do power I O and reset from the board I was literally using this system an hour ago shut it down came back to this Could the card have shorted out and is now cooking every board I try it on Have I just trashed perfectly good boards out over Please Help! Point Me In The Right Direction 0n MB Fault a video card Or could it be a bad CPU That is the only part I have not swapped out yet since I wanted to do that last Any help is appreciated nbsp
I've had similar problem once with my existing Intel DP35DP board but with my older CPU i.e. C2D E6600 (Conroe), however after spending hours after hours it turned out that the culprit was CPU; and i only needed to clean it (carbon) and when i put it back in and powered the system ... everything worked perfectly well. It doesn't mean its the same for you; perhaps something is shorting out; I don't think your video card should kill boards as you suspect. It could be something minor like in my case.
By the way, funny thing was I had already ordered a new motherboard (suspecting this one is dead) when i thought of checking on the CPU
So I have an "Infinity USB" (s/n:020019804) and an
"Infinity USB Phoenix compatible" (s/n:021042244).
I don't know if the serial number will help...but I included
it any way...
I was in the middle of playing BF2, yes I'm an old school gamer and the screen looked like it got hit by a rock and froze. I turned off the computer and then it kept going to a blue screen or no screen at all. Every once in awhile I was able to make it to safe mode and I tried downloading the latest drivers for the NVidia card but still kept getting a blue screen. I can run with out the video card and use onboard graphics but then I can't play my one video game I like to play. It's less than a year old but now probably only about $100 to replace but I would like to keep from replacing it if it's possible I am missing something. If anyone knows any possible solutions I would appreciate it. I have not really installed any other software recently that might have interfered.
What error message does the blue screen say? Any file names mentioned?
If the graphics card is bad and if it's less than a year old, it is probably still under warranty and you can return it to the manufacturer for replacement. You will have to request an RMA (returned merchandise authorization) first and pay to ship it there but it will be a lot less than $100.
