Preferred Solution: multiple bluetooth devices in device manager, but only one device installed?????

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

What type of keyboard have you got?
Have you got any remote control devices around.
Have you got a headset for your phone.
Have you got anything that may be bluetooth that you dont know about (headphones etc).
Have you had a look at ghost devices on the tutorials;

A:No audio device installed error and devices wont show in Device Manager

I see three different audio driver packages at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...ct=3646926#N661.You need to find the right one to install. If you install one and the system doesn't work properly...please uninstall it before trying the next one.Installing the wrong one won't do anything harmful to your system...it just won't do any good to leave it installed.Louis

Hello everyone I noticed a problem in my keyboard recently but i'm not sure if it's really on the keyboard and might be in the windows or software related The problem is that the keyboard randomly starts freezing it's hard to explain with words basically the keys do not operate in the way they should i notice this problem usually when i'm playing games where my quot W quot that and device manager multiple Keyboard in devices should move my character Keyboard and multiple devices in device manager forward continuously does not instead of doing what it's supposed to do my character goes Keyboard and multiple devices in device manager forward while freezing along the way When i unplug and plug it again on the USB port even on Keyboard and multiple devices in device manager a different one the keybord start to operate normally again but randomly shows this problem from time to time It's not only with the quot W quot key was just an example I noticed something yesterday i don't if it's supposed to be that way and i can't find any information about it's that on device manager it shows multiple devices on the keyboard section when the device is connected as it shows in the image below One more thing is all of them looks like the same thing but i'm not sure if they really are image below If i uninstall all of them except that one that i marked with purple he is the th one in the first image the keyboard still operates i'm not sure if the problem is fixed by that cause it does not happen all the time Now that i described everything i want to ask questions Showing these multiple devices is normal Cause i plugged another keyboard and it shows just instead of not sure but the st one in the first image is always there even without not having any keyboard plugged The other keyboard plugged for tests is just a normal one and the one that i'm using and showing the quot problem quot is a Multilaser Warrior TC I've also plugged my keyboard into another computer and he creates instantly all devices I'm excluding the first one that is always there for some reason If it's not there's anyway that i can uninstall all those others except the one marked with purple without allowing the windows to reinstall them after reset I don't really know if this quot multiple devices quot is the problem but i guess i could test uninstalling all of them except the one that i mentioned and preventing the windows from reinstalling them somehow And if anyone has any another suggestion already experienced this problem or similar feel free to drop the suggestion here Thanks in advance Alstreim

I have a Toshiba laptop model L -ES I had Windows Home Premium bit installed on here but decided to reformat my hard drive using Windows Devices in Device Device Unknown Hidden Manager/Show Ultimate bit After the reformat was finished I ran Windows Update and it found several items to download and install for me I noticed that it also found optional items to download and install for me so after all the important updates installed I ran the optional updates After all of this installed I checked Device Manager to see if there were any errors and I found nothing I assumed everything was fine I decided to check Devices and Printers and Unknown Device in Device Manager/Show Hidden Devices under my laptop icon there was a yellow icon with an exclamation point on it I decided to run the troubleshooting option when I right-clicked the icon it gave me a solution to download a Toshiba password utility program so I did that and nothing happened even after restart Same Unknown Device in Device Manager/Show Hidden Devices icon appeared When I clicked on the icon a second time I noticed that the model of my computer at the bottom of this window changed from L to TIAS I have no idea what this is I decided to do another reformat on my hard drive This time I ignored the optional updates I checked Devices and Printers again the same icon appeared but the model of my computer said L like it should There is something in the optional updates that is changing this Could it be the Intel chipset driver that the optional update is pushing I'm not sure I went back to Device Manager this time I clicked View and put a checkmark next to Show hidden devices and I found it In Other devices it says unknown device After right-clicking on this and checking the driver details I got a hardware ID that says ACPI TOS I did some research and was told that it could be my Intel chipset so I went to Intel and their website did an automatic scan of my system It found a few things so I installed them and rebooted the laptop Doing this did not fix the problem Is there a way to figure out what this device is It doesn't seem to be hindering my laptop but being a perfectionist it is really bothering me One thing I wanted to add could it be a USB device I noticed that I do not have my media card reader drivers installed but yet when I put a media card in it reads it just fine or maybe the USB camera installed on the lid of the laptop After checking my imaging device it looks to be installed has to be something

I clean installed an ASUS Laptop Model a2500h, Windows XP Home edition SP3.

There are two drivers that I can't seem to locate. The Hardware ID's are as follows.

ACPI\WEC0515
ACPI\WEC0517\4&19A7495A&O

I know ASUS often has utility programs that show up as drivers, for example I had the ACPI\ATK0100 which was listed as an UNKNOWN DEVICE, and I installed that utility fine.

I am just not sure about the other two. I was told on another forum that it could be something to do with the sound drivers, but I suspect it is one of ASUS' little utility programs.

Any help would be appreciated. Also if any additional info is required, let me know and I will post it.

A:Extra devices in device manager

That occurred with my ATI 9600 .All I did was delete both in device manager ,then reboot ,Cancel the auto-reinstallation by windows and use the Hardware Wizard to install your drivers. You choose the drivers you want installed from a fie or disk.
ATI websays you can also do this by using the Update driver tab in Device manager and and again force Windows to use your drivers.
There are 2 instances of My 9600 in device manager because it supports more than 1 Display(Digital,Analogue) It is probable the same for you.

I recently uninstalled a usb logitech headset and tried to put my old analog headset back in and it would not work. I then detected through view on device managers the invisable driver and also uninstalled it. It still will not work and when I do a driver detector scan I still show having

"USB Composite Device - Logitech USB Headset"
"USB Mass Storage Device - U3 Cruzer Micro"

They are under "Unplugged Devices".

I am using a trial version of Driver Detective to find these and don't want to buy it. So I was wondering if these two(for sure the first one) need to be uninstalled before I can hook up another headset how else could I go about uninstalling them? Or would another usb headset just install over them without a problem?

A:Device manager hidden devices.

If you have uninstalled all of those, and;

You don't have anything else from Logitech/Cruzer,
just go to Start->Run->Regedit
then Edit->Find->Find next

Delete everything.
Reboot.
Pray.

EDIT:

No problem is so huge (in these small spheres) that it couldn't be solved with free software.

So never ever go buy anything unless you area SURE it is exactly what you need.

After uninstalling and then updating my graphics card drivers, I decided to plug in an external USB hard drive into one of my USB ports. Windows XP Pro notified me that new hardware was found:

other PCI Bridge Device
PCI Memory Controller
SM Bus Controller

Consequently, no drivers could be found so now under ?Other Devices? in Device Manager, these three devices are shown with a question mark and exclamation point.

Obviously, I need drivers for these devices. Do I need to install drivers for a Lacie USB hard drive? Or does this have something to do with what I did with my graphic card drivers?

Thanks in advance!

The following boot-start ..........failed to load

Intelide
Now if I look in device manager>show hidden devices> I see several that have a yellow exclamation mark;

A:Device Manager will not respond nor will Cd-rom or usb devices

Open up a command prompt and type chkdsk /f /r[b/] it'll ask to restart so do so. Let it scan it should fix the MMC.EXE problem. As for the CD/ROM problem try opening the tray and blow out the inside with some compressed air and try again.

Hello, running W7 64-Bit

My USB Controller Devices all have a Exclamation mark except two. Which is why I'm able to use my USB mouse and keyboard.

I can fix the problem, though only temporarily, by uninstalling all the USB Devices with Yellow Exclamation marks, and refreshing. Problem solved, yet when I reboot, those same USB Devices have a yellow exclamation mark again. I have to continue this cycle.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

None of the devices has a manufacturer name or description.

Hi,

I have a MSI GT70 2OD, I have not really ever used bluetooth, so im not sure how long I have had the problem.
Running Windows 8.1 and everything updated. My computer does not seem to realize that it has bluetooth. The computer has the Killer Bigfoot Doubleshot Lan/Wlan/Btooth card. When I look in device manager there is no bluetooth, and i guess therefor no option in windows to toggle on/off bluetooth.

In the details tab of task manager there is a btvstack running and if I go to my bluetooth folder location I can run bttray.exe and have that running in details tab, however the tray icon does not appear.

I have looked quite a bit to find that it seems to be quite a common problem and not specific to MSI however cannot find a clear solution.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

I have a Dell XPS M1210 laptop that I have recently upgraded to Windows 7. Everything went great with the upgrade with the exception of the internal Bluetooth module.

I have Vista on another drive and installed it into my laptop to test to see if the module is working. The bluetooth works fine and I am able to couple devices.

I have checked the BIOS and the setting for the Bluetooth show it present and enabled.

I do not see Bluetooth in my Windows 7 Device manager. As expected, I cannot couple devices.

The Device Manager rescans when I turn the Bluetooth on with the switch on the laptop but does not appear.

I have downloaded the Broadcom Setup Module but it does not see it either.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

When Windows is configured to show ghosted devices (non-present devices) it shows a number of missing devices - at least on my machine. So my question is how to decide what to remove in order to improve boot time?

I've managed to figure out that the Avast legacy driver entries are okay to remove along with a few other entries that were related to previously installed software. It seems that Avast's own aswclear removal tool left them behind!

Anyway, currently system restore is disabled on my machine (I make system image backups) and I see numerous entries under "Storage Volume Shadow Copies" and "Storage Volumes" - is it safe to remove these? Is there any way that "Storage Volumes" could be related to encrypted drives?

A:Remove Ghost Devices - Device Manager

Solved.

I decided to remove non present devices - other than system devices and a couple of non plug and play devices. Rebooted and everything is ok.

Storage Volume Shadow Copies has vanished but under Storage Volumes - Generic Volumes re-appear when new drives are connected.

Hello there,
I am having problems with a pcie ethernet card- It sometimes phisically disconnects and connects again i think. I was wondering either it is possible to see device manager events in the windows Event Viewer. Is it possible to see things like that in there? Also for example usb devices connection/ disconnection etc? I Would aprichiate any help.

A:Logging devices change in device manager

You can go to Device Manager, highlight the device, and then under the Actions menu choose "Scan for Hardware Changes".
But I doubt that will shed any light on why it is disconnecting. That usually just tells you if the driver has changed.

Event Viewer will only log Windows errors, so if the hardware causes an event that triggers a Windows error it would be there then.

It would be good to know what manner of 'disconnecting' you are dealing with.
If the device is disconnecting from the system (power or installation problem) you could observe Device Manager to see if the device disappears there when it disconnects. This will prove it is a hardware problem.

But if you mean that the card is dropping the network connection that would be another animal altogether.

Hello there,

i am trying to install a webcam for my friend. Every time we try to donwload the software to install the thing, it installs and then says that there is no webcam detected.

I have tried all 5 USB ports, reinstalled the driver 7 times through web and CD. Have bought two new cameras. Have done everything under the sun and now i ask for your help.

I think the problem is that Imaging Devices isnt a catagorie. The webcam (Creative Live! Vista Cam) is on 'Other' section of device manager. When i go to repair it, it completes and calls the driver Composite USB Device. if i close this and re-open it, it says the error again.

What can i do for help!

Thank you for your time

A:No imaging devices catagorie in Device Manager

There won't be an Imaging Devices section until an imaging device is installed properly on the computer.

It sounds like the USB ports aren't working correctly or the drivers have an issue.

You are installing the software before plugging in the camera right?

Also what version of Windows is on your computer?

Does anyone else have these two Unknown Devices in their XPS 13 device manager? I don't recall removing anything that would cause this and the system can't find any device drivers for it nor does updating the drivers from the dell web site resolve it. There isn't any current function that we're using that isn't working so I'm not sure what category of thing these are and the hardware ID's aren't of the expected format so they don't reveal anything either.  Everything is unplugged and wireless is turned off(airplane mode on) so these are not external items.

There are three items under Other Devices in Device Manager that have cryptic names and seemingly no drivers available from Dell.

Broadcom USH
PCI Serial Port
PCI Simple Communications Controller

I have installed many drivers and some install successfully with no change in Device Manager or I get an error message the driver is not for this system.

I have a HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC. I upgraded my PC from windows 8.1 to Windows 10(64-bit) and the bluetooth icon in the wireless area is missing and I can't see the bluetooth drivers in the device manager anymore.my bluetooth driver wont show up at all I have tried unistalling all the drivers under networking and reinstalling them and my internet has and is working just fine. Although the bluetooth is not showing up in devices I have no clue why I have worked hours to get it to work with no avail. Also I dont understand how the Bluetooth support service can be running withpout a proper driver installed. I just want to be able to use my bluetooth headphones on my laptop. I have tried all drivers I could think of too from this and laptops similar to this. Please help me solving this isssue!

Probably because the drivers for your device are not installed?

It appears after the latest round of windows automatic updates my native bluetooth device went missing.  It is not visable in the device manager or the control panel settings.   I have downloaded and reinstalled the latest wireless and bluetooth drivers, however I am still unable to view the device.  This is a Yoga Pro 2 (64bit) running the most current Windows 8.1 updates.  The latop has a native bluetooth adaptor which had been working with no issues. I have run services.msc and restarted the associated BT services and they are running. Would appreciate any help.

A:Windows 8.1 Bluetooth missing from Device Manager

Have you checked through the Charms Menu?

Hover to the right of the screen, click settings >> PC Settings >> PC & Devices

-----
If you cant find it there, then go to Control Panel >> Recovery >> Open system restore

and restore your system to the last recovery point before the microsoft updates.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum. Wasn't clear to me which one was correct.

I have the ASUS Rampage IV Extreme motherboard. One of its features is onboard Bluetooth.

I have it enabled in BIOS. I flashed my BIOS to the latest version, I updated my chipset to the latest driver. I installed the latest Bluetooth driver. I started Bluetooth Support Service in Windows Services.

I've tried disabling Bluetooth in BIOS then enabling it.

I have never once seen anything in my computer that hinted at Bluetooth whatsoever. No Bluetooth Radios in Device Manager or anything Bluetooth related.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
3930k
16 GB RAM

I have never tried to use it so I don't know if it ever worked before, but I have no system restore points set anyway, so that test isn't viable.

A:Bluetooth not working or showing up in Device Manager

It looks like a lot of people are having this problem with that motherboard.

One solution was to remove and reconnect the Bluetooth dongle from the motherboard port after installing the driver (yes it is removable, but it clips into the port).

Another was to make sure that the Bluetooth service was enabled in Windows.

Another solution that worked was posted by Necrosan over at ROG:"You need to install AI Suite II - specifically the Mobilink component - on your PC. (You can obtain the most recent version from the R4E ASUS website.)
Turn on bluetooth, pair the phone, open RC bluetooth, hit menu->devices. Choose previously paired device.
At this point it should "just work" if you are about 1-3 feet away from your computer. Any more distance than that and you likely will experience issues. (Yes, the range really does suck this bad.)

I just tested these exact instructions and they worked fine. Feel free to ask any follow up questions.
Enjoy. "
But I think that last one was only if it shows up in Device Manager but does not connect. Can't be sure.

Hi: A couple of suggestions... 1. Update the HP Bluetooth driver to the final version for W7... This package contains the software required to support the HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology in supported notebook models running a supported operating system. The HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth Wireless Technology provides wireless connectivity to other devices from the integrated module of the supported notebooks. It also provides additional Bluetooth Profiles. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp47001-47500/sp47022.exe 2. Make sure the bluetooth radio was not turned off by the HP Wireless Assistant.  Below is the latest version of that software. This package contains the HP Wireless Assistant for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The HP Wireless Assistant reports the power state and Microsoft Windows Device Manager status of integrated wireless devices, alerts the user when the status of a device changes, and enables the user to turn integrated wireless devices on and off. ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp49001-49500/sp49408.exe

I don't have your system. But I know that with the Nov Release of 10, My bluetooth don't work anymore either. When 10240 was released there was no issues. However with the November 10586 after the update it said Sorry this bluetooth wasn't compatible and was removed.  I tried to reinstall the Wireless/Bluetooth Driver but bluetooth still away. Lucky my Wireless part still working....  Maybe it could be the same thing with yours. Or maybe if you give your Wireless/Bluetooth model maybe there is others that have info about a good Driver for your system James PS. Not all systems have everything that is listed in the Drivers list of Acers website. It could be that yours didn't come with the Bluetooth Part

Everywhere I go it says it should come with windows xp sp2 and I have windows xp Home sp3(upgraded for sp2).

so what's the problem?

please help, thanks.

hello peepz,
We are about to roll out a group policy to stop people installing USB devices that are not approved. All that is very easy to, our issue is finding already installed devices on a computer.  I can manually roll through the registry entries and try and
manually delete them but given we have hundreds of users, that is going to take forever.  Is there some software that people use that easily identifies if say a Samsung or Apple phone have been connected and delete them. Same thing for most USB sticks
except the ones we specify??

Thanks,
Dave.

Xeon processers are basically the same as the i5 and i7 except they support ECC memory. Xeon = server, i5 = Desktop/Laptop. Xeon's have many threads as opposed to i5's core speed. How that relates to your problem I don't know unfortunately.

Welcome to the forum.

What motherboard are you using?

From the information you have provided, it appears that you need the driver for USB 3.0 provided by VIA.

I would check the web site of the motherboard manufacturer or your motherboard install disk.

I have a dv7-2170us laptop.I performed a clean install with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.I used the drivers for this laptop model from the HP site.I'm getting a few unknown devices in Device Manager.I've tried un-installing the devices and re-installing to allow Windows to re-detect but no drivers are found.  See pictures below, what devices could these possibly be referring to? I have all the necessary drivers loaded that I am aware of and I installed any driver that looked valid from the HP drivers site.

EDIT: Everything works!  Thanks for the tip Daniel.  I googled how to identify hardware id's and came up with this site http://www.pcidatabase.com/ , punched in the device id's and bam, it WAS the card reader.  Weird because it was working perfectly.  But I downloaded the driver anyway and re-installed and this resolved the issue.  ============================================= I tried the Intel Chipset Utility, didn't work. Here's the hardware id's though:  If you look closely you'll notice that each of these devices are in fact different.

Last night, device manager started scanning for new devices constantly on a random time interval. I looked at all the error logs available but there was nothing reported (no hardware error, no disconnect, no application error, etc.). No device appears in error and every time DM tries to update, the PC freezes. This is getting very annoying, especially trying to play games.

I'm including the file MSINFO32.zip hoping someone can find what I'm missing and give me a hint as to what is happening. BTW, I'm running:

Win 7 Pro 64 bit on an AMD Phenom II x6 Black Edition platform.

A:Device manager suddenly scanning for new devices constantly

It was the STUPID USB MOUSE!!

I was on the PC yesterday and DM was making the usual noises. Then, using hand-eye coordination, I noticed that every time the arrow pointer moved, DM would chime in. I moved the mouse really, really fast back and forth and DM went into a frenzy.

I replaced my mouse with my wife's mouse and DM quieted down right away. Funny, no hardware errors, or any other errors for that matter.

So, the mouse was the problem!!

Can I trouble you for your feedback on something else Every few months I clean install the Windows operating system on my PC Is it the same for you in that sometimes the Windows setup picks up all of the devices it usually only misses one a Bluetooth peripheral device with a question mark That's easily sorted by installing Wireless drivers from Dell site Then on other occasions it'll leave the occasional exclamation mark usually listed in Other Devices but not always That disappears when the chipsets are installed Most of the time I never get these at all but its happened a couple of times after Device install re:devices Manager clean Windows lately Device Manager re:devices after Windows clean install Im wondering if its caused because Im installing from Windows DVD and not from a factory image I guess really what Im asking is Is the Windows Installation sometimes a bit hit and miss at picking up everything in Device Manager during initial setup Sometimes theres an occasional error and other times its fine This is on the same Device Manager re:devices after Windows clean install system with the same hardware with no changes from previous windows installations Thanks guys

A:Device Manager re:devices after Windows clean install

My guess is that you have other hardware connected during some of these installs and not at other times.

My question is, why do you reinstall every couple months? Are you bored, just for fun or is it to solve problems. I know this sounds snarky but it's a serious question.

I have a Dell Inspiron M731R laptop upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Home 64-Bit that suddenly quit connecting to the home network. Was using wireless, so switched to an Ethernet cable, but still no luck. I just discovered that ALL of the network-related devices are now listed under an "Unknown" tab in the Device Manager. A check of properties of each item in that folder says they are all working properly, but that obviously isn't the case. I tried uninstalling each of the 4 items, but when they are recognized again they still show up under the Unknown tab. Any suggestions would be welcome.

A:Device Manager - Disabled devices re-enable on restart

Having the same problem as you I was very relieved to find this registry edit fix that permanently disables the HD audio controller :

"I have tried to uninstall them in device manager....disable them in device manager yet when I re-boot...TADAAAA there they are again!!
Surely there must be a way to get rid of them?
You can disable them by editing two registry keys.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\servic es\HDAudBus\Start=4
This value disables the High Definition Audio Controller in the device manager > system devices, it needs to be disabled.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\servic es\HdAudAddService\Start=4
This value disables the High Definition Audio Device/ATI HDMI Audio Device. You don't have to uninstall the devices first and this will also free up an IRQ. After a reboot the devices will show a yellow exclamation point but you can ignore that."

To edit these two values click the start button then type regedit.
Double click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SYSTEM, then CurrentControlSet, then services.
Click HdAudAddService, then right click Start under the Name column on the right - click Modify, change the value from 3 to 4 and OK.
Click HDAudBus, then right click Start under the Name column on the right - click Modify, change the value from 3 to 4 and OK.
Reboot

I ended up doing a reinstall, and it worked, then I did all the updates again, and it all worked. Now I cannot for the life of me, get my USB to work, it's insane, i've never had this much trouble and I don't want to format. I've tried many different versions and releases of the VIA drivers, but when ever it detects new hardware and tries to install, it always gives me the same...
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

I've loaded a few linux live CD's and my USB does work! so I know it's with windows...

Please help!

A:Device Manager Code 39 Chronic problem with USB devices

First step, Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore. Create a restore point and name it something like "Before USB Fix". This is to bail you out if something goes wrong during the following process and makes things worse.

Create a file with NOTEPAD containing the following lines and save it as FIX.REG
-------------------------- Use text after this line --------------------------------
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment]

"DEVMGR_SHOW_NONPRESENT_DEVICES"="1"
-------------------------- Use text before this line --------------------------------

Double click on FIX.REG and say yes to the Merge Into Registry question.

Unplug ALL USB devices.
Open Device Manager.
View, Show Hidden Devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers.
Uninstall all devices under Disk Drives that you know are not present.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. Say no to any reboot prompts until you are finished. Also, if a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it and move to the next one.
If you have a yellow ? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

When this is done, reboot TWICE.

Reconnect the USB devices and see if they're recognized properly.

NOTE: If you have a USB keyboard and/or mouse, you'll have to modify the instructions and leave enough parts for those to function. I don't have one yet, so I haven't had time to modify the instructions.

Hi folks,

I am attaching a screenshot of entries in Device Manager 'Show Hidden Devices' that have yellow exclamation marks on them.
Their properties say "This device is not present, is not working properly, or does not have all its drivers installed. (Code 24)"

I recently uninstalled my Iomega 100 zip drive as I haven't used it for years and I'm wondering if these are left-overs from that. I can't think of anything else I've done to cause them. Can anyone help please?

There are no USB ports/links show in 'my computer', but they are visible in Device Manager .

When I plug my Thumb drive into the computer it tells me it's installed successfully. And also my USB mouse and webcam work fine. But there are no ports shown in 'my computer', which is strange.

What could this be, how do I fix it?
Regards, Joe.

A:[SOLVED] USB Devices not showing in 'My Computer' but are in Device Manager

Hi, make sure the USB device (removable device) you want to use is plugged into the computer then go to start search and type:-
diskmgmt.msc, open disk manager, if you have a mapped network drive you will find the USB device has been assigned the same drive letter. Right click on your removable drive and choose "Change Drive Letter or Paths..." and assign a different letter.

Open "My Computer" and the drive should be there. Next time you connect it, it will pop-up with a newly assigned letter.

A:bluetooth peripheral device - drivers not installed W7x64 USB 4.0

Hi, to upgrade W7 BlueTooth, you must know the brand of the BT chip, and download from this one. Your problem seems to be missing the a2dp protocol, you get the exclamation mark. If your BT chip is not Broadcom, then drivers fail.
