Problem Uninstalling Hawking Print Server Software

Q: Problem Uninstalling Hawking Print Server Software

Keywords: Uninstall Hawking HWPS12UG Print Server Utilities

Problem
When uninstalling the Hawking Print Server Utilities, you receive the message 'HAWKING_PS-P1 still in use! Please release the port before to complete uninstall Network driver'

Cause
You have a printer defined in your system (in Control Panel, Printers and Faxes) that is using the port named HAWKING_PS-P1, the port to which the Hawking Print Server Utilities' Network Driver is assigned.

Solution
Setting the printer concerned offline does not help.
Deleting the printer concerned does not help.Deleting the port HAWKING_PS-P1 (using the Printers and Faxes window's menu option File, Server Properties, Ports tab) produces the error message 'Selected port cannot be deleted. Operation could not be completed.'
After rebooting the system, deleting the port succeeds.
After deleting the port HAWKING_PS-P1, the uninstall of the Hawking Print Server Utilities succeeds .

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have disabled it in control panel firewall but some how it was loading automatically at startup and running. So went to services and set to start service manually. I recently dropped peoplepc contract as wireless became available. Problem is that I can't remove the peoplepc internet security pack and related files. Windows Xp will not uninstall these files. Hi

Have you tried uninstalling the unwanted file in safe-mode?

Tap f8 key from start-up to bring up a menu that offers 'boot into safe-mode'.

If not, try this:-
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/myuninstaller.html

also this - make sure the back-up box is checked and run on the 'clean reg option' - use your delete key to clean the unwanted keys.

Hi all,
I was helpng a friend the other night, he has an HP computer with a Lexmark all-in-one, fax/scanner/printer. He was rolling along in good order, all of a sudden, he was unable to write a letter on the PC and then send it to the fax. I thought the first thing to try would be to uninstall the Lexmark software, then reinstall. however, the unistall from Control Panel did not complete, it got about halfway and locked up the computer.
any ideas on how to do the uninstall, then reinstall?

A:Problem with Uninstalling Software

Try uninstalling in Safe Mode. If you get a message that you can't uninstall because the Windows Installer Service is not running, then Run: msconfig. Turn off all startups except services. Reboot and try again.

If it got only part way, it may not uninstall. You may have to reinstall (to get the uninstaller back in working order) in order to be able to completely uninstall the driver/program.

Hi.

I've tried to uninstall a program called "ad annihilator" from my computer--a Dell Inspiron 1525 running Vista Home Premium. I keep getting the message "UNWISE.EXE has stopped working" and thus the program will not uninstall. I'm looking for any troubleshooting suggestions that might help resolve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

A:Problem uninstalling software

I'm having the same problem. The best I could do was disable everything in the 'manage add ons' section under tools. I disabled it then noticed there were several aspects that also needed to be disabled.

After that I tried to uninstall ad annihilator via more than one uninstaller and still no luck.

Edited to Add: I found Revo Uninstaller. It got rid of it completely.

I recently decided to uninstall my Epson scanner software bundle. The scanner driver went fine, but after I uninstalled the bloatware that comes on the install disc, the DVD drive stopped working. After exhausting all fix possibilities (that I know of) I was forced to hot a restore point to get the DVD working. Problem is the bloatware came right back and I was right back where I started. Anyone have any idea what I can do to get rid of that stuff without destroying the function of my DVD?

Hi all. We have a number of NT 4 servers, one of which is PRINTSVR, a print server for our NT Workstation network. We have approximately 58 printers setup on this server and for the most part they work great. Something weird is happening, though, on an irregular basis.

On occasion the server will not print Excel spreadsheets and the only way to get it to print them is to reboot. It's not a specific printer problem because once this starts it affects all the printers. The print jobs run through their respective queues indicating that they're spooling, printing, and then they disappear and nothing comes out of the printer(s).

One of our employees has mentioned that she has noticed that the problem occurs after she has attempted to cancel a job. The next time she attempts to print from Excel nothing happens.

Any ideas? Anything would help.

I have a friend that has a Linksys home network setup with one computer in the kitchen and a printer connected to a Linksys PSUS print server all hard wired through a Linksys router with a port switch server problem print Bizarre The system was all setup initially by someone else and was working OK but a couple of months ago all of a sudden the printer lost its connection with the computer Since the person that initially set it up wasn t available i have been trying to get it Bizarre print server problem working for them but not having any luck Here s what I ve done Ive gone through the setup wizard several times and removed and reinstalled the printer software sebveral times and the printer just isn t available it s not seen on the network I can ping the print server OK and it shows a connection link on the router the led is lit I can even open up the print server HTML setup page from the computer but the computer and printer just won t talk to each other I called Linksys and they had me check it out but could not get it working They suggested connecting the printer directly to the computer and then install the drivers and software which I did The printer connected and I was able to print normal Then when I reconnected the printer back to the print server I went into the printers folder on the computer and I saw the printer icon but when I went to click on it it disappeared it just vanished and I was back to where I was before We thought maybe the print server was bad so my friend replaced it with a new one but it didn t change anything We tested all of the cabling and are confident it is all serviceable This is so bizarre I ve tried everything I know to get this printer to connect but nothing works I am hoping someone in here can give me some other things to try out as I m out of ideas My friend is really getting frustrated and needs her printer to work Thanks for any ideas Randy nbsp

A:Bizarre print server problem

The LinkSYS PSUS4 has a few quirks with it. it is possible that it has lost its Domain or network protocol settings. Is the Printer visible on Network Neighborhood? This is the is the first stage. If not, try running Bi-Admin from the Linksys installation CD. It should detect the PSUS4 and read out its set up details. Pay attention to the network protocol you are using - you have to specify this at start of Bi_Admin utility. It is most likely TCP/IP or Netbeui. ID you are unsure, go to Networks under settings, and look to see what protocol is bound to your network adapter and router. This can be a confusing area as Windows tends to enable everything. If Bi-Admin cannot see the PSUS4, then you need to reset it to factory default. Do this by unplugging EVERY cable to it, wait 10 secs, then press and hold in the the reset button on the rear, then, holding the button in still, connect up ONLY the power lead. Wait at least 10 secs before releasing the reset button. Rerun the Bi-Admin search for device (NOT the setup wizard!), and see if it can now see the PSUS4. If so, select configure, and reset up the PSUS4 for your local conditions. (eg Network Domain name). The Linksys software is not optimised for Netbeui protocols. If you are using this, expect the software to time out with an error message like "Not available or in use". Ignore it. Power off the PSUS4 (disconnect all cables again), then power it back up and reconnect it. (No reset!!). Run Bi-Admin again and you will see it has actually taken your configuration.
You should now be able to see it on network neighborhood. Check with Bi_admin for Printer Status - again the Printer should return at least on line / offline and its type.
Now go back to Printer Settings and add Printer. Select Network Printer etc and hopefully it should come back to life. mOst of above experience gained form running Netbeui protocol under Win98Se, so there may be some subtle differences, but above may help.

So I got this linksys wvc200 print server the wireless one. It works fine, but it sets the printer that the server is hooked up at to be the default printer, and while the print server utility is running it wont let me change the default printer. I'm trying to make it so i can easily print from any of the printers without having to go through exiting the program and going to the printers and switching the default printer. Any solutions??

A:Problem with Linksys print server

Your error is in the setup of network places. What is the IP of the printer? That is critical. How do you attempt to access the wvc200 print server? Through a wired or wireless router or access point?
Can you see the printer in My Network Places? If not, your setup is incorrect for the printer... more than it is a wireless problem.
Tell us the brand and model of printer.

I have a home network and have recently upgraded it with a wired print server (PS). In order to get the PS to work I had to disable XP's built in firewall. I was wondering if there is a way to give permissions to the PS so that it can TX/RX through the XP firewall.

My router has a NAT firewall and I'm using Zone Alarm to stealth any open ports and block certain requestes, so I'm not sure that the XP firewall is needed, but it does give me piece of mind while it is running.

The PS has a static IP address (192.168.1.201) within the local network. I have also discovered that it uses port 34443. With this information can I set up an exception for the XP firewall to let the PS communicate?

OS: Windows XP Home
PS: Linksys PSUS4

Thanks,
Kevin

A:Problem with D-Link DI-704UP router USB Print server

Since you've done all the following (from the manual), consider the last sentence. (For the benefit of the casual reader, the Epson Stylus CX5300 is an all-in-one printer, scanner, etc.)

-------------- copied from manual -------------------------

Multi-Function Printers Print
If you have to install the printer using the manufactures software, the printer may not work with the router. If the computer needs to have proprietary software installed to talk to the printer, its probably not going to work with your D-Link router. You may be able to print to the multifunction printer, but the other features will probably not work. If you can use the Add Printer Wizard in Windows to install your printer drivers, then the router may be able to print to your printer.

Start by uninstalling everything: the printer software, the D-Link printer port (if installed), and the printer. Then, install the D-Link printer port software. Next, add a new printer and point the installation to the D-Link port for printing. Complete the printer installation by specifying the correct driver for you printer. If you cannot print using the D-Link port, use the instructions at http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.asp?prod_id=794 to reconfigure the port to use LPR. If you still have problems printing, try disabling bidirectional printing. If it still fails to print, the printer may be incompatible with the router.

Have spent hours getting to a point where I can print wirelessly only by rebooting the laptop and then printing one document. Further prints fail - unless laptop rebooted. The print server is connected wirelessly to a Dlink DSL-G604T modem/router. I reckon that, since the print server WLAN light is flickering intermittently the whole time - even when the machine is switched off - that the print is not completed properly and that the print server does not receive a print end instruction. This is borne out also after rebooting and printing that only 99% of the print job is performed - it never gets to 100%. Has anyone else seen this problem - and has anyone fixed it? Otherwise the print server will be going back to the store.

Hi,

I have recently bought a Hawking Network Adapter which is supposed to improve network signal by 300%. However, ever since setting it up it has had a limited connection; it displays a status of 'Limited or No Connection'. It often has very low or no signal, around 20-30%. However, it nearly always runs at 54Mbps, and if the connection was stable I guess I would be able to access the internet on it.

Yesterday I tried reinstalling the software and briefly got a stable connection. It was running at just 1Mbps and with no signal (actually around 10%), but I could nevertheless access the internet. Therefore I would presume that it should be possible with 30% signal to achieve a stable connection. The problem appears to lie in the fact that the Default Gateway, DNS Server and WINS Server fields of the Network Connection Details window are empty.

Any help with respect to regaining connectivity would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hello Guys,

Is there a way via scipting to force a pc to refresh their local printer
settings from the print server ? We have enabled Duplexing as the default for
printing ( conserve that paper ! ) for our HP Laserjet printers on the
Print Server, but if a user goes on their local printer settings and unchecks
duplexing, it will not re-pull that device setting from the print server
unless you delete and then re-add the printer on the local machine. Is there
a way to have the printer settings pulled from the server without have to
delete and then readd the locally installed network printer ?

Hello

I installed SteadyState, realised that was a big mistake and tried uninstall it.
Something went wrong, so now I am unable to print or write to external drives.
I have tried installing SteadyState again, in order to repeat uninstall.
However, it fails to install properly so now I'm stuck.
I have tried removing all entries from the Registry and deleted the cache, etc.
I am reluctant to reinstall XP without first being able to create a recent backup.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A:Print Server won't print on new printer

Did you install the drivers for your new printer? (Obvious, sorry, but I have to ask) Best bet would be to uninstall all printers and printer software you have and start over from scratch.

The print server doesn't have to support your printer - all it does is take the data sent by your computer and forward it to the USB port. Your printer however has to support the print server. Some printers require a bidirectional connection with the computer and that cannot work over the network.

Does your print server suppirt several types of connection? It could be any combination of LPR, SMB, JetDirect and any proprietary protocols. Try something else than you are using right now.

Since I couldn't find the suggested setting to just turn some hyper-V settings on I thought I dont have it on my computer. After installing Hyper-V though my computer went server mode and I have no experience of that. Hi everyone. I recently got a new iPhone (I'm actually having to post from it now) and like many others, I also encountered the issue with bonjour causing DNS issues. So I uninstalled it and iTunes. However, I am still getting the "Dns is not responding" error. I tried the suggestion of changing the addresses to 8 8 8 8 and 8 8 4 4, and that seems to let me use google with very fast speeds but not much else. I'm not sure what else to do.

A:DNS server not responding even after uninstalling Bonjour

The problem that Bonjour causes is usually the Unidentified Network problem. You might want to check in Windows services to make sure Bonjour is either remove or disabled.

The latest round of DNS server problems was created by McAfee A/V.

You might want to try the steps in the link below to fix your DNS problem.

I run MS Win 2K Pro with IE 6 SP2.

My ISP offered me the opportunity to speed up my dial-up connection for next to nothing. To speed the connection up I needed to d/l some of their software, which I did and then installed.

Well, the speed-up just didn't happen so I decided to get rid of the software I'd installed.

I now find that I can't get rid of one folder containing a dll file. When I try to delete it directly (using Windows Explorer) I'm told the file cannot be deleted because it's being used by Windows.

How do I get rid of it, short of asking my ISP?

Thanks in advance.

I have recently switched my dsl services. I am having trouble uninstalling all the Verizon software, including IE provided by Verizon. I have gone to add/remove, but there is no Verizon listed, yet when I do a search it is still in my system. I called them and they were of no help, probably because I canceled my service. Also, when I went to Network Connections, highlighted Verizon, it only gives me the option to delete not uninstall. Please help! Thank you!!!

A:Uninstalling ISP software

I think you'll find that, in most cases, whatever software your previous ISP gave you, it simply re-names/re-badges what would otherwise be generic.

I know several ISPs in Australia adopted this practice, but gave up after a while because most people binned the "Network Connection Installation CD" as a waste of time.

For example, as you say, "IE provided by Verizon" would simply be a program that "re-badges" IE - i.e. sticks a logo other than Microsoft's on your IE browser. There are a few web sites that give instructions how to do this with any bmp image file. Google : "internet explorer" change logo.

As far as the network connection goes, I would suggest that the icon labelled with Verizon is simple the generic network logo, otherwise probably called simply "Local Area Connection" on a lot of other computers.

More than likely there are still traces of it in the registry. the only absolutely surefire way would be to reformat and reinstall windows. but that would seem rather extreme to get rid of someothing that shouldnt really cause you any problems.

Sir,Actually i have install "Folder lock" software and have set a password for that.but when i am trying to uninstall it, it is asking a password which i have forgotton.more over it has not given an option of "forgot password".so please help to uninstall that software.

A:why does my software not uninstalling.

mmm - Sometimes some software requires one to run the setup again - and then (for some strange reason) there is also an option to "uninstall it"... when you run setup...Meanwhile - see if this helps. regularly recommended here and apparently very good...http://www.revouninstaller.comThere is a freebie trial version and that may be all you need?Incidentally it's useful to make a note of passwords somewhere? Make a hard copy (write it down) and keep it/them safe somewhere (where you can remember too); and perhaps email them to yourself - with perhaps a slight modification so that only you can know the actual complete password or passwords. Store those messages in a saves folder in your online email account(s).One method to remember passwords is to follow the example of many secure sites. Give yourself a memory clue that relates to the password. For example: in mail you save to yourself - you don't include the name - only a hint to it; and add some other letters/characters to the name of course for the complete password. So if the password was perhaps Charles123 - your father's name was Charles - you would save the password details as "father" + 123, or "father"123. the " " are only for clarity. You see the idea? And if you're reasonably safe/secure about it all at home, no harm to paste "some" passwords on the base of your computer (if a desktop), or inside the battery compartment if a laptop?

I don't think I need this anymore but I left it as the last thing to do in case I do actually need it to connect to the internet. It's from an old tiscali broadband connection that has been there since about 2008.

I created a restore point then tried to uninstall it, but it is still there in programs and features.

Any ideas what I can do to get rid of it, or if maybe it is a bad idea?

A:Uninstalling Speedtouch USB software

Hi,
Go to the directory where the software is installed and manually delete the folder.

That may leave unwanted registry details behind so you will need to clean the registry using ccleaner from ccleaner.com or use revo uninstaller from revouninstaller.com

Please backup complete registry before cleaning the registry just in case of problems.

For any clarifications please feel free to contact me.

Does the Internet Security 2007 still start up fine?
It might be that the first one did not completely clean up during the uninstallation, and so there is something that tries to open it, but the files are gone.
If that's the case, you could always try to delete this startup entry by going to Run>msconfig>tools, and look for it. (be careful not to delete anything critical. Try researching each one if you are not sure which one it is) Spybot S&D also has a tool to look a tthe startup items that's a lot easier.

Hello,

This could be the wrong place to post this, but I'll give it a try anyway. Unbelievably I just tried installing a (Pool) game that was most likely originally designed to be played on Windows 95 (from an old disc that my wife still has laying around the house). However, I am running Windows Vista on my laptop, and of course it did not work. I should have known that it wouldn't. Anyway, all I wanted to do afterward was uninstall the program (after it only partially installed it), but it wouldn't let me. Here is the error I received:

The log file ‘C:\Program Files\Intrplay\VPoolW\DeIsL1.isu’ is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue.

Can someone please explain to me exactly how I can finish the uninstall process? That would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Hi Alkene, welcome to the forum. Question: When you say you've done a "search" for WMP --- have you done an "Advanced Search" and included all files/folders --- not just those that are indexed? If you haven't try it now --- Make sure you set Advanced Search to search the 'Entire Computer' and click the box that says "Include non-indexed, hidden and system files." Also, up in the toolbar, be sure that 'All' is checked.

When you search, search Windows Media Player and WMP, and also search any other keywords you think might be in any of the files and/or folders.

You can delete any files and folders that are found, right from Advanced Search, but be very careful that you're not deleting needed files or folders that have similar names to WMP, but are actually needed to run your system properly.

I've decided to deep six all my Norton software. I'm running Norton Systemworks 2004 on my desktop and 2005 on my laptop.

I will NOT tamper with my registry. I simply don't have the smarts or the confidence to do that. I know many of you are way smarter than I am and would have no qualms at all doing that. But not me!

So I'm left with only a couple methods, and I'm curious which you all think I should use:

1. Control Panel/Uninstall only
2. #1 plus manually searching my entire hard drive, using R-click Start/Explore and finding and then deleting everything I can find that contains the word Norton or the Word Symantec

or

3. The uninstall routine available from Norton's website.

Comments, please?

I want to protect uninstalling a software from administrator account. Is it possible? If possible, please tell me how to do that

A:PREVENT UNINSTALLING a software

Require other users to use a Standard account you set up for them or the Guest account.

Keep Admin account passworded and only supply the password when you approve an elevated task like Uninstall.

I once used an accounting program called 'Sage' which is quite a large program. When I try to unistall it (through add/remove programs) nothing happens at all, and sometimes it makes my computer freeze. Is there another way that I can remove this program? It might be similar to programs such as 'quicktime' which are hard to remove?

Thanks

A:Problems uninstalling software

Some programs have an unistall option on the installation disc . . Otherwise, you can try uninstalling in safe mode . .

Hope this helps . . wrs

how do you uninstall anydvd, where no part is left anywhere on the hard drive. Using the uninstall process does not do it. Using perfect uninstaller does not do it. using all the different registry cleaners does not do it. There is a file is system32 called anydvd.sys. If you manualy remove this file; your cd/dvd drive will not show up on your computer.

I''m new in this forums. Not sure if this thread is the right section for this. Just lemme know and/or move this topic if it's not.

I just tried reinstalling a program by uninstalling it then installing it. It asked me restart after uninstalling but I didn't and proceeded with installing it. I have yet to have issues with it, but is it okay to do this? Won't I have any problems later with this, like an important file getting deleted as scheduled after I restart or something?

A:Install same software after uninstalling it

When you uninstall a program there can be parts still left in memory or in a cache somewhere, so many programs prompt you to restart, which clears that out. In addition, if a program was uninstalled because it had a problem, if you reinstall without restarting you can still have the same problem.

oh big probs again... my son.. being really clever... uninstalled my greeting card factory... i don't have a disc for this as my ex took everything with him.. when i go into add remove prog.. it's not there.. i downloaded cc cleaner and it found it, when i went to uninstall this it came up with an error of 1316 something about a missing .msi file... i need to get rid of this program because i have a newer version and want to install it... sorry if i am being a pain

A:uninstalling deleted software

susieb123

It won`t appear in Add/Remove Programs if your son uninstalled it
Why do you think you still need to uninstall it?

CC Cleaner will just have found some orphan entries left behind after the uninstall. If your son really DID uninstall it and then you ran CC Cleaner you should be OK to install the newer version

So, I'm trying to clean up some unused programs on a Win 7 machine but after I removed "AnyProtect by CMI limited" then "CWA Reminder by We-Care" but when I went to uninstall the next unused program and no matter what I try to uninstall I get an error saying "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed" and the program cancels the uninstallation process.  I've checked msconfig and it says that Windows Installer is stopped.  I tried doing SFC scan in the CMD prompt and that came back clean and I tried to re-register the program using the command prompt in both locations that its found.  Any other ideas??

A:Problems uninstalling unwanted software

"Windows Installer Service could not be accessed" does not mean your computer is infected. It may be corrupted, you may be missing certain values in the registry, and it could also be a problem with permissions.

A:Crashes after installing and uninstalling software

Hello, myauchandesu
Welcome to TSF

My name is Billy O'Neal and I will be helping you. (Billy or Bill is fine, if you like.)
Please give me some time to look over your computer's log(s).
Please take note of the following:In the meantime, please refrain from making any changes to your computer.
Also, even if things appear to be running better, there is no guarantee that everything is finished. Please continue to check this forum post in order to ensure we get your system completely clean. We do not want to clean you part-way up, only to have the system re-infect itself. :)
If you do not understand any step(s) provided, please do not hesitate to ask before continuing. I would much rather clarify instructions or explain them differently than have something important broken.
Finally, please reply using the button in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
Old topics are closed after 3 days with no reply, and working topics are closed after 5 days. If for any reason you cannot complete instructions within that time, that's fine, just put a post here so that I know you're still here. We get a lot of people who simply leave, and if there is no contact for that amount of time I will have to assume you have "vanished" .

We need to create an OTViewIt ReportPlease download OTViewIt by OldTimer.
Save it to your desktop.
Double click on the icon on your desktop.
Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
Push the button.
Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:OTViewIt.txt <-- Will be opened
Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized

We need to scan for rootkits with GMERPlease download gmer.zip and save to your desktop.alternate download site 1
alternate download site 2

Unzip/extract the file to its own folder. (Click here for information on how to do this if not sure. Win 2000 users click here.)
When you have done this, disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
Note: There is a small chance this application may crash your computer so save any work you have open.
Double-click on Gmer.exe to start the program.
Allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.
If it gives you a warning at program start about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run a scan...click NO.
Click on "Settings", then check the first five settings:System Protection and Tracing
Processes
Save created processes to the log
Drivers
Save loaded drivers to the log

You will be prompted to restart your computer. Please do so.
Run Gmer again and click on the Rootkit tab.
Look at the right hand side (under Files) and uncheck all drives with the exception of your C drive.
Make sure all other boxes on the right of the screen are checked, EXCEPT for "Show All".
Important! Please do not select the "Show all" checkbox during the scan.
Click on the "Scan" and wait for the scan to finish.Note: Before scanning, make sure all other running programs are closed and no other actions like a scheduled antivirus scan will occur while this scan completes. Also do not use your computer during the scan.

When completed, click on the Copy button and right-click on your Desktop, choose "New" > Text document. Once the file is created, open it and right-click again and choose Paste or Ctrl+V. Save the file as gmer.txt and copy the information in your next reply.
Note: If you have any problems, try running GMER in Safe Mode

In your next reply, please include the following:OTViewIt.txt
Extra.txt

I have not had a single BSOD on my system running Windows XP Home since literally Today I uninstalled some software I uninstalled a PC web camera driver and software and also uninstalled some VIA motherboard update software I haven't used this software some time and it is not even set to auto-run when Windows starts up I also ran the registry cleaner in Piriform's CCleaner before restarting Upon restarting I was greeted with a BSOD Stop error x B xF E xC x x No other information Using the recovery console I have attempted chkdsk r and fixboot No fix I have not tried fixmbr I also attempted to Drivers After BSOD Uninstalling Software + XP use system restore through the recovery console I only have one recent restore date to try which was made when I uninstalled the VIA update software I followed the steps provided here iframe and they did not help me I still get the BSOD when restarting Last known good figuration and safe mode also result XP BSOD After Uninstalling Software + Drivers in the same BSOD Specs Asus K VSE Deluxe Motherboard AMD Processor Seagate mb SATA harddrive ATI X Pro Video Creative Audigy ZS Audio She's an older system but that really isn't to blame there is no hardware issue here it must be a result of the programs and drivers I uninstalled via add remove programs or the registry cleaning process I have used the registry cleaning process hundreds of times previously and never had a problem though Can anyone help I'm trying to save this without having to install XP all over again either by format or by repair installation Thank you

A:XP BSOD After Uninstalling Software + Drivers

1) Registry Cleaners CAUSE problems, they do not cure them. I suggest you run the UNDO function in the registry cleaner and then never use it again.

2) What VIA mother board software did you uninstall? Look in Device Manager. Are there any yellow or red symbols?

3) Download BlueScreenView:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe to run the program.
when scanning is done, go to EDIT - Select All
Go to FILE - SAVE Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all of the content, and paste it into your next reply

I recently purchased a new HP Laptop and am in the process of uninstalling all the HP bloatware. I am fairly familiar with the stuff HP adds but this Energy Star software is a new one. I have a 1yo HP Desktop and it wasn?t there when I got it new a year ago.

I have Googled it and read what is out there but I still can?t lock in on what it actually does. It seems to provide some power configurations from what I have read. I did see one reference that said it might be difficult to remove through Programs & Features and while that doesn?t bother me as I do all software removal with REVO Pro Uninstaller, I know from previous experience that some of the HP add-ons can be difficult to completely uninstall.

Looking for some feedback from anyone that has actually uninstalled this software.

Thanks In Advance

A:Uninstalling HP Energy Star Software

After hunting around more today I still could not find any specific info as to what this software actually does. This morning I even posted the question on the HP Support Forum and have had zero replies and that is the HP Support Forum so I am inclined to think that it doesn't do much if anything.

The uninstall with REVO Pro Uninstaller was too quick for it to be much of a program and I have not seen any changes or a hint of a problem.

Hi. . .

There are 2 things that I can think of off hand -

The Windows Installer Clean-up Utility - kb290301

Also, try CCleaner - click on the link in my signature area, download and install. Go to desktop, RIGHT-click on the CCleaner icon and select Run as Administrator. Click on Tools and a list of installed programs will appear. Try to un-install now.

Hi

I have tried to uninstall some old Epson 1200 Printing Software from my colleagues PC to enable me to install a new printer.

Whenever I try to uninstall it from Control Panel> Add and Remove Programmes I get a message that says "Setup cannot allocate working memory. Close all applications, exit Windows and try again".

I have also tried installing the new software without removing the old but get the same error message.

I have tried all the above in Safe Mode as well with the same error message.

The new printer works in every respect except that the ink levels do not appear, just blank inkwells. In msconfig there is an entry "Epson Background Monitor" under the startup tab but no Epson Status Monitor appears to be installed anywhere in the system.

Can anyone throw any light on this problem.

Hi,

I have never uninstalled paid software (that uses a long Activation code) before in order to use it on another computer, but that's what I want to do now.

I need to do it with Photoshop (from my old PC to my new one) and with MS Office (from my old laptop to my new one).

But what I don't understand is: How do these companies know that I have uninstalled it from the first computer?

Could they not just think I'm trying to have the software on several PCs?

(I know you're allowed MS Office on up to 3 devices, but it will be 3 in total when sorted).

I just want to uninstall everything properly, so I don't get in trouble or have any hassle.

Is the process straightforward?

thanks

Welcome,
Have you tried
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/revo-uninstaller/
It usually gets the job done.
Just be careful. PUPs that protect themselves that well may be hiding something worse.
You might consider visiting the Am I Infe3cted forum and let one of the trained volunteers there walk you through the steps necessary to make sure your system is clean.
If REVO doesn't do it, post back and I can ask one of the moderators to move the thread so you get the help you need and they can see what's been done.
Keep us posted

I have just hooked up a Canon MX320 printer. Everything seems to be working fine. Is it a good idea to uninstall the old Canon printer/scanner software? Should I use any special precautions? How do I remove all evidence of the old printer and scanner? Thanks.

A:Solved: Uninstalling old printer/scanner software.

You can leave the old program if you want to be able to use your old printer. If you want to remove it go to control panel, add/remove programs and select the program to remove it. IF you want to make sure there is no evidence of it - go to My computer, local drive, programs, there may be two Canon folders or one with both programs in it. If there is two the old one might be empty or there may be no evidence of it at all. select and del. what you don't want.

Norton softwares cannot be uninstalled on my PC. Norton Internet something also disabled all Internet connections.

I had to use a different device other than my PC to get help since its offline.

Note: do not get Norton softwares, they eat up the disk space and slows down your PCs.

Planning to try some freeware backup imaging software, I wonder a couple of things.

I have 11 GB full of a 30 GB hard drive and for storing practice imaging backups, I have a new 32 GB usb flash drive. Is this enough, like would compression be enough to make this type of medium a useful choice? What kind of compression could I expect of the backup image files, if any?

What about uninstalling the backup imaging program if later I decide I do not want it/them anymore? Has anyone had any trouble uninstalling these? I plan to try Macrium Free Reflect, Paragon, and Clonezilla.

In any case, I plan to test or try these on an old laptop with Windows XP sp3, 512MB RAM, 2.0GHz Celeron Processor, (11 GB full of 30 GB hard drive).

hi all
i recently changed my keyboard from a logitech g19 to a roccat isku. i uninstalled it using ccleaner. however the service UMVPFSrv still kept running at startup. i have disabled it from starting up though. also the gamepanel software still shows up as installed in revo uninstaller but it wont uninstall. it does'nt show in control panel though. i cant remember which version it was. i think it was the one b4 the latest but it may have been earlier.
could anyone suggest the best way to remove all traces of logitech software?

any help is much apreciated as always.

A:problems with uninstalling logitech gamepanel software

Take a look in services and see if part of that program is still running; if so disable it. Sometimes this has to be done in Safe Mode. Go to device manger and remove or disable any thing concerning this program. After part of a program has been removed another removal program might not be able to find it anymore even though their are little pieces left over. Revo is a great little removal program. If it can find it it will remove it. As all programs that remove things you must be careful. Tick the wrong thing and it will be gone. Another great little program I use if things still are not gone is Search Everything. Using the search function at the top of the program will find anything in your computer and in most cases can remove it if it is not running. Again be careful what you remove. Once the program is gone disconnect the old mouse and or keyboard and connect the new one and reboot.

Alright this has hangs 1m or to installing when long 30s software. uninstalling been an ongoing issue for awhile now maybe around a month or possibly two As the title states I get anywhere from seconds to whole minute system hangs during an installation of either a game or software but only with certain ones It doesn't do this with every install only some This will either happen once or multiple times during the installation Example I just installed nHancer and it hung about times making the entire install take about minutes with brief moments that I could use my computer It should 30s to 1m long hangs when installing or uninstalling software. be noted that I'm a gamer and these ONLY happen during installs Games benchmarks file transfers and anything else operates completely normal It's ONLY installs or uninstalls that makes these lockups happen So it's not my hard drive it should also be noted this is happening to a friend as well same OS Windows Ultimate x but he does not have SP installed and I do When the hangs occur my system will look completely normal and the start bar still animates when you move your cursor over it Programs will look like they're fine until you click on them this includes the start bar Once you click anything that looks like it's operating normally will completely freeze Example Firefox could be displaying a gif and as soon as I click the application freezes all buttons are unresponsive and the image is stuck This is only per app so to actually have the freeze happen I need to click on the program or use a shortcut i e alt tab menu will appear then freeze alt ctrl delete won't even show up until after the hang stops Neither will task manager I've done a chkdsk with no problems I use Avast w Internet Security it reports no viruses I use Spybot Search and Destroy reports no spyware I've ran Malwarebytes no viruses also ran Hitman Pro no viruses System is clean according to all of these programs And of course I have not run these simultaneously Only separately So no virus program conflicting is going on When the hang happens after I click on something the windows loading cursor will appear for the duration of the hang when hovering over the specified object I've googled for days and can't find a solution so I've come here for help Please tell me something that could rid me of this plague I can't stand this and I'm not exactly feeling up to an OS wipe Thanks for reading and for any follow support I'll receive

A:30s to 1m long hangs when installing or uninstalling software.

Have you tried turning off Avast's realtime protection temporarily and see if that is impeding on things? You also are not having any other anti-spyware/malware software enabled at the same time, are you? This can cause unnecessary instability with your PC as they will fight over each other on trying to scan items that are read or loaded.

For a more thorough investigation, we'll need to isolate the scenario and determine background operations that are occurring while the hang pops up. You can help us with this by doing the following:

1. Grab Process Explorer. It is essentially a very beefed up version of Task Manager. Run it and then sort columns by CPU or CSwitch Delta. Watch it during the hangs and see if there's any unusual behavior that pops up. Also note any spikes in the graphs. You can double click any of the graphs to bring up its own window where you can hover your mouse pointer over spots in the graph and it will give you details on what is causing what in the graphs.

2. If that is doesn't show up much, then close Process Explorer and grab Process Monitor. Don't run it yet. Instead, start closing stuff down until only the bare minimum is running that will be needed to cause the hanging. The less stuff running in foreground or background, the less cluttered the log will be from Process Monitor, and it'll be more streamlined for me to pinpoint cause.

Once that is accomplished, you'll want to start running Process Monitor then click the magnifying glass "Capture" to stop the capturing (since it starts immediately). Click the erase to clear everything, then start up installation or whatnot. You want to start and stop Process Monitor capturing to capture the time when the installation hangs. You may want to snap a capture of when it isn't hanging as well, for a 'control group' to get context for what I should and should not be seeing. After all that's completed, you can save each capture (File > Save As; don't worry about the options). Zip em up (cuz they can get big) and send them our way for analysis.

Understand that these log files can get big quickly. You want to only capture a few seconds per file.

My lexmark wifi printer wasnt working so I uninstalled the software thinking re-installing would solve the problem. Now, whenever I try to re-install the Lexmark software, as soon as it installs the uninstall option (part way through loading the application and I know this as it updates as installing) it starts to uninstall itself. I have tried countless driver sites but they all have the same issue. Is this a Windows 7 issue?

The problem lies with the security credentials (logon) assigned to the Security Center service.

A:Uninstalling Roxio Sonic Software created a nightmare

Welcome to TSG--

Be forewarned:

Missteps when fiddling with the Windows Registry can render your machine unbootable, your data unreadable, and your life unbearable.

That said, be forewarned:

Using a registry fix designed for a different version of Windows may also render your machine unbootable, your data unreadable, and your life unbearable.

Enough sunshine.

A simliar fix--but a better explanation including a key export to reverse the process if you don't like the outcome is here at Apple Support (did you really think that other guy worked out that registry fix himself?)

I would read through the instructions--twice. Print them out. Copy from the Apple KB article and paste the new registry values you'll be using into a notepad document and double check them--it'e much easier and more failsafe to copy the values from the notepad file than to type them.

Then try the fix, after you've twice read the warning at the end that you may not be able to use the other cd burning software after fixing iTunes.
