Google chrome ~ pinning tab(s).

Q: Google chrome ~ pinning tab(s).

Is there anyway to save those pinned tabs to stay there after I restart PC/reopen chrome and all that ~ not actually load them because I could just set them as the homepage but keep them there so when I click it it'll load the tab, I only have a fairly small laptop screen and this will save a bit of room.

Preferred Solution: Google chrome ~ pinning tab(s).

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I didn't know you can pin tabs! lol
How do you do that?

Hey, I love the pin tabs feature in Google Chrome and was wondering if it's at all possible to change what clicking the mouse wheel does, it currently closes the tabs but I was wondering if it could pin a tab instead, I've searched thread multiple options but have yet to find out how.

I notice an unpleasant GUI-level change that appears after the upgrate to 1511. The issue seem to exist on all machines after 1511 upgrade.

Firstly, Google Chrome shortcut pinned to Start Menu now appears on dark gray tile, instead of the regular "color accent" tile. Is this a bug or a feature?

Secondly, an attempt to pin the Chrome-generated GMail shortcut to Start Menu immedaitely loses its dedicated icon and gets a regular Chrome icon instead. E.g. before the upgrade it was possible to pin the GMail link to the Start Menu and it would retain its GMail icon. After the upgrade it is no longer possible to keep the icon.

This is ugly. Is there any known workaround for this behavior?

A:Google Chrome and pinning GMail to Start Menu after 1511

I'm not sure why it got moved to "Browsers and Email", since the issue in this case is with Windows, not with Chrome. Another example of (apparently the same) Start Menu pining issue is trying to pin the desktop Visual Studio 2015 shortcut to Start Menu. The shortcut pins successfully, but unfortunately loses its icon. The standard Visual Studio icon gets replaced with some default blank icon.

In other words, after 1511 update many "non-trivial" shortcuts lose their icons when pinned to Start Menu.

Hello,

I'm trying to repair my parents computer. They were getting Trojan horse warning messages and crashing to blue screens. So far I have updated the BIOS and uninstalled all the browser addons and questionable apps I found on there PC. Since updating the BIOS it hasn't crashed to blue screen. However I'm getting a lot of lywqyjla.exe processes that say they belong to Google Chrome. I uninstalled Google Chrome and they are still there. Each of them is using varying amounts of memory and the CPU usage keeps spiking. I have run malware bytes and adw cleaner, each of them said they found and removed threats but these processes keep showing up.

Welcome to BC !

Run a scan using RKill. Read its description as to what it does. Once you have successfully run the scan, DO NOT reboot.
Proceed with the other scans. Reboot if the MBAM or other scans ask you to.
RKill Download

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here
Double-click mbam-setup-2.X.X.XXXX.exe to install the application (X's are the current version number).
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
Once MBAM opens, when it says Your databases are out of date, click the Fix Now button.
Click the Settings tab at the top, and then in the left column, select Detections and Protections, and if not already checked place a checkmark in the selection box for Scan for rootkits.
Click the Scan tab at the top of the program window, select Threat Scan and click the Scan Now button.
If you receive a message that updates are available, click the Update Now button (the update will be downloaded, installed, and the scan will start).
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
If potential threats are detected, ensure that Quarantine is selected as the Action for all the listed items, and click the Apply Actions button.
While still on the Scan tab, click the link for View detailed log, and in the window that opens click the Export button, select Text file (*.txt), and save the log to your Desktop.
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can also be viewed by clicking the History tab and then selecting Application Logs.
POST THE LOG FOR REVIEW.
download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.
Double-click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.
Click on the Scan button.
AdwCleaner will begin...be patient as the scan may take some time to complete.
After the scan has finished, click on the Report button...a logfile (AdwCleaner[R0].txt) will open in Notepad for review.
After reviewing the log, click on the Clean button.
Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.
After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S0].txt) will open automatically.
Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.
A copy of all logfiles are saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder which was created when running the tool.

Download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".
The tool will open and start scanning your system.
Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.
Hold down Control and click on this link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
Click the button.
For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
Click on esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
Double click on the icon on your desktop.
Check "YES, I accept the Terms of Use."
Click the Start button.
Accept any security warnings from your browser.
Under scan settings, check "Scan Archives" and "Remove found threats"
Click Advanced settings and select the following:
Scan potentially unwanted applications
Scan for potentially unsafe applications
Enable Anti-Stealth technology
ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
When the scan completes, click List Threats
Click Export, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.

I noticed a lat jump after updating adobe. I checked my processes and there is a ton of Google Chrome Processes running. I did not have chrome loaded at that time. I have win 7. I have run bitfinder and it finds nothing wrong. I try ending them but they launch right back up. Bitfinder has found 430 infected web resource detected just today but it blocks it and says computer is safe.

I have many "Google Chrome" processes running (jthzgxbastyz.exe *32), but I don’t have Chrome installed on this computer. I have tried to run Malwarebytes and Malwarebytes anti-root, MacAfee root kit, and several others. Anything I try to open, never actually opens. I ran DDS, but it doesn’t look like its accessing the file system. I am an administrator on this computer, but when I attempt to download anything now from Internet Explorer, I get a Security Alert " Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." I reset IE and it allows me to download the programs, but I still can’t run them. Hope this helps! Seems like I have a full blown infestation. L

Whenever I open Google Chrome the first time after I finish booting my computer, it hangs for three seconds, during that time I see a wild amount of solid flashing on my hard-drive light indicator.

Upon looking on my task manager, I see 4 Chrome processes running, one of which seems to be causing a'lot of activity on one of the hard-drives. After a said few seconds the process disappears leaving only three processes and no hard-drive activity.

Is there anyway of stopping this kind of strange hard-drive activity when 'm opening chrome? I'm afraid the repeat thrashing might cause my hard-drive to wear out prematurely.

If anyone can help, please respond.

Thank you in advance.

For the past few days when I open up Google Chrome I get a white page with a yellow ribbon at the top that says "Chrome didn't shut down correctly" and then an option to "restore" which only brings me to a new tab page.
I have looked for solutions and have tried going into appdata and changing my "Default" folder into "Default_old" then closing down Chrome and opening it again but that doesn't work (and I don't get another "Default" folder as the instructions says I should). I have tried disabling my extensions (of which pretty much all of them are ad blockers) and apps. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome but so far nothing has worked. Am I just not doing these things correctly? Is there another way I can stop this? Because I would really love to open up Chrome and have my homepages there.

Thanks!

Hello!  I am plagued by what I assume is a virus calling itself "google chrome."  I do not nor have I ever downloaded google chrome as an operating system; I run IE and it's fine.  However, in the following place:  Appdata-LocalLow.  There is a google chrome icon called "Vchoojpvy.exe" that cannot be deleted.  How do I get rid of it?!  Thank you so, so much.

Hello and welcome to the forums! My secret agent name on the forums is SweetTech (you can call me ST for short), it's a pleasure to meet you. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. If you have since resolved the issues you were originally experiencing, or have received help elsewhere, please inform me so that this topic can be closed. If you have not, please adhere to the guidelines below and then follow instructions as outlined further below:Logs from malware removal programs (OTL is one of them) can take some time to analyze. I need you to be patient while I analyze any logs you post. Please remember, I am a volunteer, and I do have a life outside of these forums.
Please make sure to carefully read any instruction that I give you. Attention to detail is important! Since I cannot see or directly interact with your computer I am dependent on you to "be my eyes" and provide as much information as you can regarding the current state of your computer.
If you're not sure, or if something unexpected happens, do NOT continue! Stop and ask!
In Windows Vista and Windows 7, all tools need to be started by right clicking and selecting Run as Administrator!
Do not do things I do not ask for, such as running a spyware scan on your computer. The one thing that you should always do, is to make sure sure that your anti-virus definitions are up-to-date!
Please do not use the Attachment feature for any log file. Do a Copy/Paste of the entire contents of the log file and submit it inside your post.
I am going to stick with you until ALL malware is gone from your system. I would appreciate it if you would do the same. From this point, we're in this together ;)
Because of this, you must reply within three days failure to reply will result in the topic being closed!
Please do not PM me directly for help. If you have any questions, post them in this topic.
Lastly, I am no magician. I will try very hard to fix your issues, but no promises can be made. Also be aware that some infections are so severe that you might need to resort to reformatting and reinstalling your operating system.
Don't worry, this only happens in severe cases, but it sadly does happen. Be prepared to back up your data. Have means of backing up your data available.____________________________________________________Rootkit UnHooker (RkU)Please download Rootkit Unhooker from one of the following links and save it to your desktop.Link 1 (.exe file)Link 2 (zipped file)Link 3 (.rar file)In order to use this tool if you downloaded from either of the second two links, you will need to extract the RKUnhookerLE.exe file using a program capable of extracing ZIP and RAR compressed files.  I too have the exact same problem. i have tried hard for a month+ on 100s of sites with no avail. this probably is some super smart form of malware/virus which changes your IE's lan proxy settings to "127.0.0.1:8080.proxy.pac", this seems to affect chome and IE while firefox looks ok. the only "visible" difference is with the google main page as you described you'll also notice that at the bottom of the page, the number of page results are limited to 10 and no more, you just cant see more results than that. I couldnt find any any solid fix to this (not even complete reformat) The only temporary solution(till next reboot) seems to be to go to internet options in IE - connections tab - deselect that proxy setting and select automatically detect settings though i personally use hola better internet extension which seems to fix the problem till its kept on. I want this dreaded issue to get some attention so that am actual solution is found :/

Hello to all,
I have installed google chrome and I really like it. However it has one major drawback. It remembers what I have typed in google search bar.
How can I disable this?
I have uncheck every option in "under the hood" settings, but that is not it.
These search items disappear only when I do clear browsing data. But on the second use when I want to type something in google search item filed or just click on it everything that I searched in the previous session (if not cleared explicitly) is shown in form of drop down list.
Internet explorer and firefox allowed me to turn this auto completion whenI wanted.
Is it really that difficult in chrome?

Thanks

A:Google chrome remembers what I typed in google search engine

I think you can only block the search history in Chrome by using private mode.

Wrench icon > New Incognito Window.

This will prevent any searches, downloads and websites appearing in your history, and will delete all cookies when you close the window.

See here for more details: http://www.google.com/support/chrome...y?answer=95464

Hello,

Recently my computer has started messing up. Google gets redirected, Google Chrome won't even load, and AVG says I have some trojans, but when I click to clean them it says that they are inaccessible. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

A:Google is getting redirected and Google Chrome won't even open anymore

Also if it helps when Google gets redirected it has a green grid globe looking icon.

Hello and welcome please run these next. If you have Spybot installed temporarily disable it.Next run ATF:Note: On Vista, "Windows Temp" is disabled. To empty "Windows Temp" ATF-Cleaner must be "Run as an Administrator".Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop.Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose: Select All.Click the Empty Selected button. If you use Firefox browser click Firefox at the top and choose: Select AllClick the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt. If you use Opera browser click Opera at the top and choose: Select AllClick the Empty Selected button.
If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.Next run MBAM (MalwareBytes):Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (v1.44) and save it to your desktop.alternate download link 1alternate download link 2MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you. Temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the definition updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen:Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.Exit MBAM when done.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware. If Malwarebytes Anti-Malware results in any error messages, check the Help file's list of error codes within its program folder first. If you do not find any information, please refer to Common Issues, Questions, and their Solutions, Frequently Asked Questions. If the error you are receiving is not in the list, please report it here so the research team can investigate. Some types of malware will target Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and other security tools to keep them from running properly. If that's the case, please refer to the suggestions provided in For those having trouble running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

A:Google Search keeps redirecting, only affects Google Chrome so far

Greetings and Welcome to The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your malware problems.I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the Watch Topic Button, select Immediate Notification, and click on Proceed. This will send you an e-mail as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing us to resolve the issue faster.NOTE: Backup any files that cannot be replaced. Removing malware can be unpredictable and this step can save a lot of heartaches if things don't go as planed. You can put them on a CD/DVD, external drive or a pen drive, anywhere except on the computer. NOTE: It is good practice to copy and paste the instructions into notepad and print them in case it is necessary for you to go offline during the cleanup process. To open notepad, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. Please remember to copy the entire post so you do not miss any instructions. These are the programs I would like you to run next, if you have any problems with these just skip it and run the next one.-Security Check-Download Security Check by screen317 from here.Save it to your Desktop.Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.-AdwCleaner-Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
Close all open programs and internet browsers.Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.Click on Delete.Confirm each time with Ok.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer. You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.--RogueKiller-- Download & SAVE to your Desktop RogueKiller or from here
Quit all programs that you may have started. Please disconnect any USB or external drives from the computer before you run this scan! For Vista or Windows 7, right-click and select "Run as Administrator to start"For Windows XP, double-click to start. Wait until Prescan has finished ... Then Click on "Scan" button Wait until the Status box shows "Scan Finished"click on "delete" Wait until the Status box shows "Deleting Finished" Click on "Report" and copy/paste the content of the Notepad into your next reply. The log should be found in RKreport[1].txt on your DesktopExit/Close RogueKiller+Gringo

Hello and let me go ahead and say thank you for your time I don t know how much of the following is actually important but I would rather be too detailed than not detailed enough please forgive me This happened two days ago on November th I browse with Google Chrome my OS is Windows and I use Avast as my antivirus program I was using StumbleUpon and it took me to an article on cracked com a site I ve enjoyed many times with no problems I was immediately and Google virus Google seems block with a to that Chrome Infected redirected to some advertising site you know the kind--lots of banners and text Infected with a virus that seems to block Google and Google Chrome ads I also got a few pop-ups Before I could even react the computer shut itself down I booted it back up and attempted to start Chrome again The window where the web page would normally be was completely blank there was no url in the url bar and the loading circle Infected with a virus that seems to block Google and Google Chrome that normally appears beside the tabs was not there I don t think it froze or anything my mouse icon stayed the same and the window didn t white out but nothing worked I tried to close it the regular way and couldn t so I ended it through task manager I tried to load it again this time disabling the options to load the tabs I had open last session I got the same results and again had to shut it down the same way First I rebooted my computer and tried to load up Chrome Same results so I shut it down with task manager Next I tried uninstalling I went to the control panel right-clicked Chrome on the list and told it to remove uninstall but nothing happened no loading icon no windows nothing When I tried again I got an error message asking me to wait until the current program was finished uninstalling before attempting another one I rebooted my computer I Googled my problem using Firefox both FF and IE were functioning just fine and I noticed I was getting lots of shady redirects when I right-clicked to open a new tab I had to try several times to get results to show up sometimes having to open in a new tab multiple times or a new window or the same tab Frustrated I exited Firefox and attempted to get rid of Chrome by just deleting all the folders It worked--at least I was able to install a new copy--but the new copy did the exact same thing After that I decided it was less likely a browser issue and more likely a virus so I did a quick scan and then a full scan with Avast to make sure I was clean It told me I was so I tried a system restore to the rd of November the most recent one I had When it was done my Google files I d deleted were still in the Recycle bin and the program looked like it was uninstalled I tried downloading and installing another version same results I was going to let it go and just get used to Firefox again but over the past two days an email address I haven t used in months has been getting more spam email than it s ever gotten I don t check the account anymore but it is still linked to my phone and I m getting upwards of of them a day whereas I used to get maybe in a day if that I can t search for anything on Google because of the constant redirects Not only that but tabs have randomly started opening by themselves and directing me to those same advertising-type sites It s driving me crazy Any help getting whatever this is out of my system would be greatly appreciated DDS log is pasted below Attach txt is attached to the post DDS Ver - - - NTFS AMD Run by Liz at on Sat Internet Explorer Microsoft Windows Home Premium GMT - Running Processes C Windows system wininit exeC Windows system lsm exeC Windows system svchost exe -k DcomLaunchC Windows system svchost exe -k RPCSSC Windows system atiesrxx exeC Windows System svchost exe -k LocalServiceNetworkRestrictedC Windows System svchost exe -k LocalSystemNetworkRestrictedC Windows system svchost exe -k netsvcsC Windows System DriverStore FileRepository stwrt inf amd neutral af... I'm in mexico. When i go on google.com, it always go to google.com.mx. However i recently had a bigger issue. I had clicked on the bottom where i had thought it would change from mexico to usa for google. Instead... when i go to google, it shows everything in spanish. Can someone tell me how to fix this? It was something on the bottom or top right of the Google page.

But after that, how do i get to go to www.google.com.us?

Also when i go to sites such as espn, nba, wwe... it goes to the spanish site. Is there a way to go to usa site? Or would that require a vpn. I don't have a vpn and never used one before.

Hello I am currently having issues with a potential virus on my computer that can spread though the local Infected Now and google.com google can't on I Virus chrome use area network and also occurs on my android device or I am having some network issues Now I have two windows computers a windows computer and an android device Recently when I use the browsers to go to google com I get the errors I have attached below nbsp apple redirect google PNG nbsp nbsp KB nbsp nbsp downloads nbsp networkEvidence PNG nbsp nbsp KB nbsp nbsp downloads At first I thought it had sometime to do with using multiple gmail devices on my machine or the new modem installed but I do not think so and I think I might of had this issue before The way I would normally solve the problem is by either clearing the cache and restarting the computer both which usually worked but now this problem is very frequent and is causing major issues for me I thought that there might be a hack with the host file which I have modified before because I did Infected Virus and Now I can't use google.com on google chrome a little bit of web programming on a virtual device on one of my machines and what I found startled me It seems that I had the localhost three times and I am almost certain I did not do this nbsp host file PNG nbsp nbsp KB nbsp nbsp downloads This file was filled with other ips Another computer I had nothing in it which I believe is normal I checked for hidden host files but I could not get any Some of the host file say the connection issues are in the dns which I am not sure to look at The apple redirect is from my windows computer the festival error is from my android can't seem to attach at the moment and the ngix is from my windows I don't know if there is a correlation but these are the three types of errors that I get Also to note that this sometimes does effect other browsers but if I delete the google cache it seems to fix the problem now with the other browsers but google's browser Restarting usually solves the problem except the last time I tried it In addition the problem is now on my Aunt's computer whose only connection with mine is that it is on the same network Any assistance to what this issue might be would be appreciated I am running maleware bytes in safe mode now on my windows machines after running avast superantispyware and malewarebytes on regular windows however anything that can help me detect or solve this problem would be greatly appreciated I am also concerned about getting rid of the virus if it is a virus on my android phone

Hi

I just want to know which browser is the best :Google,IE ,Mozilla or GoogleChrome.I'm currently using IE and google .I just wanted to know more about Mozilla and Google Chrome. Please suggest me a good browser as I am getting different responses from different people and I have also heard that some browser can also affect the working of the PC .

A:Google,IE ,Mozilla or Google Chrome

All of them are good so far. I use IE and Firefox at home, I use firefox as my main browser and uses IE for back up browser. So far firefox is the most stable browser I have and been using it for two years, I still encounter some browsing issues (which is normal) once in a while but not that too many compared to other browsers. I don't really download new browser, if there's new one being introduced over the internet, as long as my browser is working fine am gonna stick with it. Hope this helps.

Hi all,

I do not know what the problem is, but due to hardware limitations, the only browser that runs smoothly on my laptop is Google Chrome. I do have Firefox installed but it runs choppy at best, but google will load on it.

I cannot figure this out, but Google will load fine on Firefox, and all my smartphones, but not on this laptop. Gmail will load fine.

I've checked proxy settings and that doesn't seem to be the problem, and all other sites I visit, load fine.

Here is what I get when I try and load Google in Google Chrome:

If anyone knows how to fix this, I would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forums! My secret agent name on the forums is SweetTech (you can call me ST for short), it's a pleasure to meet you. I am very sorry for the delay in responding, but as you can see we are at the moment being flooded with logs which, when paired with the never-ending shortage of helpers, resulted in the delayed responding to your thread.I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems.
If I instruct you to download a specific tool in which you already have, please delete the copy that you have and re-download the tool. The reason I ask you to do this is because these tools are updated fairly regularly.
I usually just use google.com but if I want to concentrate on local searches I use google.co.za (as I live in South Africa)

I have created a shortcut on my taskbar pointing to google.co.za .... I guess you could do the same, but use google.co.uk ?

I use Firefox 100%, but I got bored one day and thought I'd test out Google Chrome. Unfortunately, I can't because I get a message saying, "Cannot download the application. The application is missing required files. Contact application vendor for assistance" when I run the installer. Thanks, Google. Brilliant. Anyone else have this issue?

A:Google Chrome

Hello costerm I am wizzy and am happy to help you with the issue you are having.I have just tried to install this application my-self and had a smooth installation so the only thing I can think of at the moment is you may of got a corrupted download, so what I would like you to do is delete the old installer you have on your desktop and to re-download the installer and try again. As an extra note did you get the installer from the offical page?Regards

A:Google Chrome Help???

Try installing the latest version of Chrome over top of the current version by using the applicable standalone installer located here: https://support.google.com/installer/answer/126299

Do you really have MSE AV and Panda Free AV installed at the same time? Pick one. Uninstall the other.

Hi. . .

I would suggest that you perform a system restore using a restore point prior to the installation of Google chrome -
START | type rstrui.exe into the start search box and hit enter.

Hi All Well I just downloaded the new browser from Google Google Chrome The first thing I noted was it s speed Beats FF and IE hands down in this aspect It s streamline as browsers go very minimal After install it ll ask if you want to import favorites from IE or FF Have tried Chrome, you it? Google so do so and just click the wrench in the top right corner and show bookmarks I haven t figured out the downloads option It ll download no problem and show in the bottom left but I can Google Chrome, Have you tried it? t seem to find a way to pause or stop the download When you add a page to your favorites I have found that you have to Google Chrome, Have you tried it? enter the URL manually which is a pisser and irritating So far it s bare bones But in a strange way I like it It s simplicity is attracting It just got released and is still in beta Download it and try it and post what you think Download it www google com chrome nbsp

Every time i try to download chrome web browser, my trojan elert comes up. Why does this happen?

A:Google Chrome

Probably because googleupdate.exe causes so much discussion about how to get rid of it. It's installed when you put on Chrome. Not sure if there's an option to NOT install it when you install Chrome.

I'm sure if you search the forums here you can find out how to get rid of it. If you want Chrome and want to get rid of googleupdate you can always disable your antivirus while installing. I'm sure others will come along with even better advice.

Good luck,
Bill

The removal of this malware will likely require the use of tools not allowed in this forum. But I have noticed that
Eset scanner is having some success if not complete success. You can give it a try along with MBAM.

Click the Back button.
Click the Finish button.
NOTE:Sometimes if ESET finds no infections it will not create a log.
POST THE LOG FOR MY REVIEW.

It would be good to see if the latest updates for those programs are successful or not. If not,
Follow the #6 instructions in this link for creating a DDS log: Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help - Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs

Post that DDS log in a new topic along with a description of the problem in the linked forum:
Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs Forum - BleepingComputer.com

Do not bump your new post. Wait for a response. It could be a few days...the pro team is all volunteers and busy.

Currently using internet explorer to post this and having no issue. When using chrome, especially on video sites such as  crunchyroll (an anime streaming service), I am spammed with adware. Inspecting the google chrome task manager has shown that there is a constant extension/add-on running called bubble builder and I believe this is the source of my woes. The only issue is I can't seem to find the source of the program. I have attempted to get rid of it using adwcleaner twice and to no success. Thanks for your help

I hate Google Chrome because it causes me so many problems. I wish I could just keep my Internet like it is because every time I put Google Chrome on it I have nothing but problems. It wants me to upgrade so I click the tab and nothing happens so I go to "If you have a problem" and what a mess. Anyway I got rid of Google Chrome and now if I click on any shortcuts to the Internet which I have on my desktop like Netflix it says "Unable to open this Internet Shortcut. The Protocol "http" does not have registered programs. Can anyone help?

Dear sirs,

I use 'explorer' with the standard google toolbar, every time I click on an e-mail link up comes a google chrome page, and then everything freezes. My only option is to 'hand write' the address go back to 'explorer' and start again, Is it me, or 'cccleaner' shows many 'google chrome' additions.

A:google chrome

Disable or uninstall the Google Toolbar. You can do that using CCleaner, maybe or you can do that by clicking on
Tools, click on Manage Add-ons, Under Show, click All add-ons, select the add-on(s) you want to turn off by clicking
once and then choosing Disable

There is some kind of malware/ adware that is using a fake Chrome. You should check for that and other adware/ malware.

Use CCleaner to remove Temporary files, program caches, cookies, logs, etc. Use the Default settings. No need to use the
Registry Cleaning Tool...risky. Pay close attention while installing and UNcheck offers of toolbars...especially Yahoo.

Started saying settings were in correct then crashed then changed settings in safe mode all by itself basically. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it. Program starts to open but freezes.

A:Google chrome

I'd install the free version of MalwareBytes, get it up to date, and Boot to Safe Mode, then do a full system scan with it and my antivirus.  If that doesn't work, I'd try sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt.

Good luck.

how can i save my bookmarks ? and then i need to reinstall.

A:Google chrome again....

I'm not a Google Chrome user so this is an educated guess.

Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
Select Bookmark manager.
Click the Organize menu in the manager.
Select Export bookmarks.
Choose a location where you want your exported file to be saved, then click Save.
Google Chrome should export your bookmarks as a HTML file. (Note: a good place to save is your desktop.)

Now uninstall Google Chrome. (You should be able to do this from Control Panel > Programs and Features.) After reinstalling you should be able to click the wrench icon, follow above steps, but this time select Import bookmarks and browse to your desktop.

Google Chrome has been installed and has operated satisfactorily for over a year on a Lenovo desktop. The OS is Windows 8.1 64 bit. Chrome application version is 42.0.2311.90.

Three days ago Chrome stopped working on that desktop computer.

When I try to open Chrome an error message advises Chrome did not shut down correctly. It will not run.

Have uninstalled Google Chrome and attempted to download and install the program several times. The same error message appears and Chrome will not run.

Chrome is functioning normally on a Dell Windows 7 laptop, a Samsung Chromebook, and Nexus 7 tablet.

Please help?

Are you downloading from the official Google Chrome site ?

Try an older version of Chrome from FileHippo and see if it will update. Also, reset Chrome to default settings.

A:Should I get Google Chrome?

Google Chrome is second in my list of browsers: if a site does not work with Firefox, I goto Chrome, then lastly I use IE. Chrome is very fast, it uses DNS pre-fetching. I would recommend it for casual use, but not as a main browser as it is still a beta. Try it and see for yourself. I use it with BC.

Have you tried running anti-virus scans? Sometimes when a toolbar gets installed it comes with some annoying viruses.

Check your chrome settings. Is your homepage set to something you don't want it to be? Have you got any chrome 'extensions' active that may be causing issue?

I would uninstall chrome again, run a scan of your system. and reinstall chrome.

Thinking of getting a chromebook mainly to surf the net wirelessly at home & on the move.
Is the amount of RAM important with Google Chrome as most only offer 2GB RAM?

Whats it like?
Good points?
Bad points?
Overall performance?

A:Google Chrome OS?

I use it, err, well I use Chrome Browser, which is the same thing ...

With Chrome, the browser actually is the OS -- in this case, the Chrome OS builds on the Google browser of the same name. In total, the Chrome OS is built on an open-source version of Linux and integrated with the Chrome browser, a simple media player...and that's it.Click to expand...

You don't need a hard drive, it's all in the Clouds. (so, eventually they could charge you for access)

Chrome OS is free.
