Preferred Solution: cannot get Java to load for IE 32 bit

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi maybe someone here can give me a hand, I had a problem with some malware and got it fixed by a great tech support agent. He had suggested I upgrade my java because it was outdated, since i upgraded im not able load java games into my phone anymore. I'm guessing there is a setting I have not changed yet. Does anyone know what I need to do?

A:RESOLVED: updated java now cant seem to load java games in my phone

Hi daimleramg,

it sounds like you need to update the path variable. It should be done in automatically during the Java installation but it doesn't always happen like that.

Please post back the following information:

- Right click the 'My Computer' icon on your Desktop and select Properties
- Select the Advanced tab and then click the Environment Variables button
- In the System Variable section, post back the contents of the following:
CLASSPATH
PATH
QTJAVA
- Or if you look at the information there, you should be able to edit the entries so they point to the new folder location...but if you get stuck, just let us know.

I am trying to view the realtime tracking page at spaceflight.nasa.gov. There is a tracking map in the middle greyed out and it says "Activate Java Platform SE 7 U". When I click it, it wont load - says Application Blocked - securityy settings have blocked an untrusted application. It does the same thing in IE and Firefox latest versions.

I can't figure out where to allow this. Can someone help?

I've been trying to download Java, in order to play most online gmes, including, Runescape. ect..
When I goto install missing plug in, i am forwarded to java's website to download.
I am using chrome, so it is added to my download list. I then run/save file and the installer pops up, asking to if i want to change destination folder. I deny that request, and click install. But the thing is that when the installer opens, the bar will not load. Heres a picture of what I am talking about.

I have deleted all the existing Java updates and ran CCleaner. Analyzed and removed. Then tried this again. Nothing seems to work.
Please help, really appreciated.!
Thanks-Andy

I cannot get youtube to play anything; I always get "an error occurred, please try again later." Youtube works fine with IE and Chrome. Any ideas would be appreciated.

A:Java fails to load in Firefox 13

Youtube does not require Java.
It requires the "Flash Player" from Adobe, and also requires that "javascript" be enabled in your web-browser. Javascript has nothing to do with Java, despite the similar-sounding name.

A:Java wont load for runescape

Hi, what browser are you currently using?

Firefox, Internet Explorer etc.

If you are using Firefox there are several extensions that are known to conflict with Java.

To see if the problem is limited to Rune Scape try using vNES and choose a game of your choice (this is the only completely Java based game site I know of bar Rune Scape).

Report back with any success or information.

Try using another browser as well and see if that works.

A:Load java, ie explorer closes.. erg

Hello and Welcome to TSF

Limewire:We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept. However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more susceptible to infections.

I suggest scanning your system for spyware/malware. Heres some programs to use.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus: Free Online Virus Scanner

Panda ActiveScan
Housecall Be sure to put a check the box beside AutoClean

Download and install Spybot S&D . Run Spybot and click on the 'Search for Updates' button. Install any updates that are available. Next click on the 'Check for Problems' button. Let it run the scan. If it finds something, check all those in RED and hit the Fix Selected Problems button. Exit Spybot. If you keep getting the DSO Exploit entries, even after you updated Windows and fixed them, then download the Spybot DSO Exploit Fix and install it over the current Spybot installation.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Download Microsoft Anti-Spyware (Beta). Update the deifintions and run a full scan.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Download Trend Micro? Anti-Spyware (by clicking the "Scan and Clean your PC" button).
Choose Save, NOT run, and save to your desktop
Double-click the tmas-web-scan.exe icon
It will say "Loading TrendMicro definitions".
Click "Start Scan"
After it's done scanning, click "Scan Results"
Make sure all items found have a check next to them, then click "Clean Threats Now".
Click Exit.

Hey, people, the name pretty much says it all. I'm on Firefox's beta channel so I'm running Firefox 15 (x32)
This information from the Java console (which I've noted other people have problems with but comes up for me just fine) will tell you what versions the bits are of Java:
Java Plug-in 10.5.1.255
Using JRE version 1.7.0_05-b06 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
From the link in the Control Panel: Java Standard Edition Version 7 Update 5 (x32)

Everything about the version of Java I have installed works except the actual function of the script on web pages. When I try the test on the Java website, I get "ClassNotFoundException" when I click for details. Any ideas as to why? My dad suggested downgrading Firefox back to 14 so I might try that if I can't get it to work in 15.

Thanks!

A:Java Applets load slowly

UPDATE
I tried booting into safe mode and doing a virus scan and defrag from there. Then I decided to try and load a java game there, and guess what - it loaded instantly! When I booted back into normal windows, the games take forever again. I've played around with disable antivirus (AVG), McAfee Site Advisor, Windows Firewall, etc etc but nothing yet. Any idea of what the problem is? It's like something is scanning all the files as they are downloaded, slowing the download time... but even disabling the services for AVG and such hasn't changed a thing.

A:Java - JFrame content not appearing on load.

Hi PiTCH BLAK,

Your main method is incomplete :

Code:

public static void main(String[] arg)
{
java.awt.EventQueue.invokeLater(new Runnable()
{
public void run()
{
taxform txf = new taxform();
txf.setVisible(true);
}
});
}

I tested it and it works.

I'm having problems with my browsers. Whenever a page has a Java applet, it suddenly closes by itself. I use the Java program developed by Sun Microsystems. What seems to be the problem?

Thanks!

Hi, I have been trying to run a couple P2P programs and none of them are working. They all give me a similar message claiming that it cannot load the Java Runtime Environment and I need to get the newest version of Java.

I go to the Java site and it says I have the current recommended version. So I try uninstalling and reinstalling the programs but I get the same message. I then try to uninstall Java via the Add/Remove programs (running XP SP3) and I am unable to do so, it gives me an error message reading: ' Internal Error 2753. regutils.dll '

Any help with this matter would be much appreciated. Thank you.

A:Programs unable to load Java Runtime Environment..

This sounds like the Java installation has become corrupted. Use the Windows Installer clean up Utility from the link belowand see if that helps. If that doesn't work then search for the free version of Revo Uninstaller and use that. You should remove all the old Java installations if you have any. This will leave you with a clean start to reinstall the latest version.

http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Instal...ity_d4459.html

Switch off all anti virus and your firewall while downloading Java, Spybot in particular if you have it.

In Windows 7 ( maybe Vista too ) if you go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn WIndows Features on or off, you can remove Internet Explorer.

Firefox can be used with the NoScript plugin, which disables Javascript on a per site basis.

If you have desktop programs which require java to run then the best thing you can do is disable it's browser functions, this can be done by the method described on the following page, that way java can still run for those who need it as an environment for their desktop programs, but it will not be vulnerable as a browser plugin.

My bank wants me to use Java when logging in to my bank account, and my browser (Chrome) wants me to allow Java to start. When I click "always allow on this site" or what ever it says in English, the browser disappears and the Win 8 app panel pops up. Pretty random. Everything works well in Firefox, but this weirdosity happens every time in Chrome.

Suggestions?

Hi,
So lately my Chrome has been crashing in flash with "We lost Jim memory message", running out of memory? I ran some virus scanners and found nothing, then while browsing some sites i get redirected to Outdated Java Plugin Detected. So i ran a google search on this problem and some of the software recommended was Spyhunter 4. After installing the software it found several malware on my system, but could not remove anything since it's paid. Long story short, my printer stopped printing, all i get is blank pages, no idea if Spyhunter caused that and i keep getting outdated java plugin detected redirection on some pages i visit regularly, how do we start?

Hello, I have moved this from XP to the Am I Infected forum.

Please run these and see how it is after.
Please download Rkill by Grinler and save it to your desktop.Link 1
Link 2
Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.If using Vista, right-click on it and Run As Administrator.A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.Do not reboot the computer, you will need to run the application again.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.Important!! When you save the mbam-setup file, rename it to something random (such as 123abc.exe) before beginning the download.Double-click on the renamed file to install, then follow these instructionsfor doing a Quick Scan in normal mode.Don't forget to check for database definition updates through the program's interface (preferable method) before scanning.If you cannot update Malwarebytes or use the Internet to download any files to the infected computer, manually update the database by following the instructions in FAQ Section A: 4. IssuesMalwarebytes may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. As soon as I implemented Java 8 version 66 (Windows 10) my SAPGUI for Java App refused to display the SAPGUI Screen. The SAPOGUI for Java worked all the time prior to implementing Java 8 version 66. I have removed and redeployed Java 8 version 66 and SAPGUI
for Java 7.40rev4 a number of times without having any success. What should I do. Can I download the previous version of Java that will work with SAPGUI for Java 7.40rev4 and how do I do this or is there another solution.

Hi I haven't used my laptop in about a year besides as an access Outdated Java a Applet Acting Weird. I is Laptop Java. on Used point for my desktop Because of this Java was severely outdated I went I Used a Java Applet on Outdated Java. Laptop is Acting Weird. to my University and attempted I Used a Java Applet on Outdated Java. Laptop is Acting Weird. to connect to the internet I couldn't get it to work I ended up using their network connection wizard which was a Java applet I had heard that certain updates of Java had security vulnerabilities with applets but I figured since I was using I Used a Java Applet on Outdated Java. Laptop is Acting Weird. a trusted applet from my university I would be fine The first thing that happened is that my wireless icon on my taskbar changed from the wireless bars to the icon you have when you have an ethernet cable connected Okay no big deal probably just a bug right I went on using my laptop for the rest of the day and accessed a lot of sensitive information with it including my bank account and my campus information service I got home and plugged the ethernet cable back into my laptop that's how I use my laptop's wifi card but internet on my desktop wasn't working This happens sometimes so I restarted both computers but the problem persisted I thought maybe the wizard messed with my network settings and went to the Network Connections section of control panel to try to fix it but it didn't show any of my networks It was completely blank I googled the problem and discovered it may be a problem with my wireless card I opened Device Manager as instructed and it was blank as well At this point I decided a System Restore was a good idea so I searched it and got an error saying Windows cannot find 'C WIndows system rstrui exe' Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again So I navigated to system located the exe and opened it Same error I still wasn't suspicious of a virus at this point so I tried sfc scannow Sfc returned no problems At this point I decided to do a virus scan using Microsoft Security Essentials I did a quick scan and it showed no results I then checked my processes for any rogue processes and everything looked normal until I tried to open the file location of csrss exe and nothing happened I noticed that the UserName and Description field were empty for csrss exe and at this point I was suspicious of a virus I noticed that winlogon exe also had no UserName or Description and wouldn't let me open the file location either I've changed all my passwords of services I accessed during this time period I'm just wondering what my next step should be The operating system is WIndows Oh it also says days until automatic activation Activate windows now in the properties of Computer even though my windows has been activated for well over a year Is this a sophisticated virus or just some kind of freak bug Thanks for your help EDIT I checked another computer and verified the two processes I thought were rogue were on that computer as well with the same blank fields and the inability to open file location Still could this be a virus I also just started a malwarebytes scan

Help! I ran the Windows Safety Scanner. It detected four issues, but apparently, the scanner cannot clean three:

Exploit:Java/CVE-2008-5353.B
Trojan:Java/Selace.A
Trojan:Java/Selace.B

There is no concrete information on how to get rid of these unwanted visitors and prevent them from inviting themselves back. Please help! The virus keeps on re-directing me 80% of the time...

Thank you!

Hi Barbara and welcome to seven forums

What do you have as an anti virus now?
If you can get to malwarebytes web page you can download from them and run. It isnt as known as a major AV and therefor less likely to be blocked
You can also try to boot in safe mode with networking.

Let us know what you find and how we can help

Hello to everyone I am currently experiencing this Java problem that I only encounter when updating my Vuze Bittorrent Client I am just updating it to newer version but every time I try the error pops up The complete error is quot An error occurred java lang RuntimeException java lang reflect InvocationTargetException quot After clicking OK button the setup ends And java.lang.RuntimeException Java Error : when Vuze Updating when I re-try to install the update the Vuze Installation Wizard will show this message Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze quot The installer did not start up correctly on the last run This is probably caused by a corrupted Java VM Do you want Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze to download or manually select the JVM quot When I choose YES the installer will download the file but will fail and will show the Java error When I choose NO the installer will proceed normally but will show the same Java error I manually update my Java to the latest version which is Version Update but problem still persists I checked my Java version by going to https www java com en download installed jsp If you have questions feel free to ask I need your help on this since I'm a bit cautious when dealing with this Java since I don't know much about it Thanks in advance

A:Java Error : java.lang.RuntimeException when Updating Vuze

Well; first thing i would try is completely uninstalling Java; and then reinstalling it. Then;(make sure any files retrieved from the bit torrent client are backed up if possible) uninstall the bit torrent client and reinstall that. Try these things and report back and we can go from there if not solved.

About 2 months ago, I downloaded Verizon's Internet Security Suite and on the inital scan, it came back with exploit.java.gimsh.b and Trojan-dowloader.java.openconnection.ap viruses. I have 2 of the explot virus and one of the trojan virus. I have done 2 system restores in the last 2 weeks in order to be able to use my computer to some extent.
These viruses are making it virtually impossible to use Internet Explorer, simple windows commands, and to check my Yahoo email. Please help me with removal or at the least quarantine of these viruses and let me know what to post for whomever is helping me. I have never joined a site like this and I am unsure of what info someone would need to have to assist me. I have a Dell desktop that is about 3 years old and this is the first time I have had this happen. I operate on Windows XP 2005.
Thanks for the assistance!

Use Ccleaner to cleanup the Java cache, temporary files, logs, cookies, etc. During install you will be offered the YahooToolbar. UNcheck if not wanted. http://www.ccleaner.com/ Use the default settings for now. Use Super Antispyware to find and remove the malware.Be sure to update in regular mode before rebooting into Safe Mode to run the scan.Instructions for using SAS are in the link below.http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...t&p=1040160Open your control panel. Double click on the Java coffee cup. click on the update tab. click on update and allow the download.After downloading and installing the update, and reboot if necessary, go to Add/Remove program and remove ALL old Java programs. Post the SAS log back here.

I've noticed a problem with a couple of workstations lately. Both are using java 1.7.0_11 (i know this version is outdated, but it's the only version currently available for use in our company). The problem is that whenever java is initialized, it automaticly redirects to Javas download site ( Download Free Java Software). What i'm thinking is that user was previously prompted with a security question that this version of java is outdated ... what do you want to do? He probably chose to download new version and perhaps there was a checkbox to automaticly remember this choice for the future. But I am not able to find any settings for this. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, check through registry (perhaps there's still something here somewhere?). Anyone else experienced the same problem?

The browser is Internet explorer 8

A:[SOLVED] Java keeps redirecting to Java's download site

Make sure all old versions of JRE are removed. Then install 1.7.0_11 from: Old Version of Java Download - OldApps.com
When you checked through the Registry you also needed to look for Sun and Oracle.

It will come up but I don't get any information like I do in IE. I tried to fix as they thought the solution was in their forums but came up empty. I am running the new FF 3.0 with the latest java. I even tried their beta version of java 6.0 update 10.

Win XP SP EI only the browser After my computer got infected with Java exploits I uninstalled Java using programs add remove option from CP The test on Oracle indicated that my Java is not working however yesterday the full attacking even uninstalled?? are computer Java Java exploits after scan with MSE found infection of CVE- - DDL In addition I noticed that file named Java Runtime Environment momentarily appeared during my full scan I will take a screen shot or will pause scan to see more details on this No Java stuff shows on registry After that I used search function and manually deleted everything related to java except the Javscript however I still have a suspicion that I have some older versions of Java hidden in my computer which were not removed My questions are Is that possible that Java exploits are attacking computer even after Java uninstalled?? Java exploit infected computer with no Java program present How can I search for Java hidden files And Please pardon this question but it possible to get infected from Facebook Youtube and few on-line forums which I always visited in the past using IE with Win and Win ME but never had problems with them

It is likely you were infected through a Java exploit and the infection is still present on your computer. Installing Java does not necessarily remove the infection.

Please download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links and save it to your desktop.DDS.scr
DDS.pif

Disable any script blocking protection ( How to Disable your Security Programs)
Double click DDS icon to run the tool (may take up to 3 minutes to run)
When done, DDS.txt will open.
After a few moments,**attach.txt will open in a second window.
Save both reports to your desktop.
--------------------------------------------------- Post the contents of the DDS.txt report in your next reply
Attach the Attach.txt report to your post by scrolling down to the Attachments area and then clicking Browse. Browse to where you saved the file, and click Open and then click UPLOAD.
===================================================
Download GMER Rootkit Scanner from here or here. Extract the contents of the zipped file to desktop.
Double click GMER.exe. If asked to allow gmer.sys driver to load, please consent .
If it gives you a warning about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run scan...click on NO.

Click the image to enlarge it
In the right panel, you will see several boxes that have been checked. Uncheck the following ... IAT/EAT
Drives/Partition other than Systemdrive (typically C:\)
Show All (don't miss this one)

Then click the Scan button & wait for it to finish.
Once done click on the [Save..] button, and in the File name area, type in "Gmer.txt" or it will save as a .log file which cannot be uploaded to your post.
Save it where you can easily find it, such as your desktop, and attach it in your reply.

I'm having a bit of trouble using Java anywhere other than in a web browser. Java works fine in Firefox, I use it often, but it's been a while since I've run a standalone Java applet.

The problem is this: opening any standalone applet, even ones that worked before, simply produce a "Windows XP Critical Stop" error sound with no visual activity whatsoever. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Java many times, but it doesn't seem to change anything.

The applets work fine on an older computer with the latest Java, the same version as on the one with the problem, so it could be one of those well hidden configuration files or outdated .dll's. If you could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

I've been doing some reading about Java and how it relates to system security and vulnerability. Been thinking about removing it altogether, but not ready to do that just yet. I would at least like to make sure my Java is set to check for updates every day. However the Update tab is missing from the Java Control Panel.

I'm currently running Java SE 6 Update 33 (just updated today), and in Control Panel it says it's the 32-bit version. This is on a Win7 x64 machine. Do I need to get the 64 bit version?

Should I be using Java SE 6 Update 33, or Java SE 7u5?

A:Where is the Java Update tab in the Java Control Panel?

Nevermind, I noticed that I had both SE 6 Update 20 and Update 33 listed in Uninstall Programs. After removing 20, the Update tab appeared. So I set it to check for updates daily, and then hit Update Now. Now it has installed SE 7u5, and did in fact uninstall SE 6 Update 33.

Also the 64-bit version is only for 64-bit browsers, which I never use because I've heard they don't work that great with many web pages.

A:java trojan / fake java problem

Hi there,my name is Marius and I will assist you with your malware related problems.Before we move on, please read the following points carefully. First, read my instructions completely. If there is anything that you do not understand kindly ask before proceeding. Perform everything in the correct order. Sometimes one step requires the previous one. If you have any problems while following my instructions, Stop there and tell me the exact nature of your problem. Do not run any other scans without instruction or add/remove software unless I tell you to do so. This would change the output of our tools and could be confusing for me. Post all logfiles as a reply rather than as an attachment unless I specifically ask you. If you can not post all logfiles in one reply, feel free to use more posts. If I don't hear from you within 3 days from this initial or any subsequent post, then this thread will be closed. Stay with me. I will give you some advice about prevention after the cleanup process. Absence of symptoms does not always mean the computer is clean. My first language is not english. So please do not use slang or idioms. It could be hard for me to read. Thanks for your understanding.  Scan with FRST in normal modePlease download Farbar's Recovery Scan Tool to your desktop: FRST 32bit or FRST 64bit (If not sure: Start --> Computer (right click) --> properties)Run FRST. Hi,

I am trying to compile a java file by another java file. In this case I tried to open the cmd by java codes, but it didn't work. I know this is possible through the processbuilder class, but I am very much new to this class. The following is an example of what I tried to do.
Code:
import java.awt.event.*;
import java.awt.*;
import javax.swing.*;
import java.io.*;

public class CompileCheck extends JFrame implements ActionListener
{
JButton but;

public CompileCheck()
{
but = new JButton("Create");
but.addActionListener(this);

JPanel buttonPanel = new JPanel();
buttonPanel.setLayout(new FlowLayout());
buttonPanel.add(but);

getContentPane().add(buttonPanel);

}

public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae)
{
try
{
ProcessBuilder p = new ProcessBuilder("cmd.exe");
p.start();
}
catch(Exception e)
{
JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,e);
}
}

public static void main(String[]args)
{
CompileCheck c = new CompileCheck();
c.setVisible(true);
c.setSize(200,200);
c.validate();
}
}

Hi,

I am a JAVA beginner, who started JAVA 1 and 1/2 months before. Each and every time when I need to do something not in book, I have to ask my lecturers "I need to do this..What built in JAVA package should I import and how to use it??"...I have had enough of asking like this. From where I can learn about built in JAVA packages and the way of using them? In these days, I need to learn how to add and use KEY LISTENER and I want to make my JAVA software more beautiful. What packages, classes, should I import to do this and from where I can learn how to use them?

A:JAVA: wnat to know about JAVA built in Packages

It sounds to me like your looking for the Java APIs. This is the technical papers that let you see what libraries you can import and call on. I'm not sure which version your using, but this page will get you started:
http://java.sun.com/reference/api/ (Find and click your version, then look for the APIs link)

You should probably pay attention to the Swing classes if your interested in building user interfaces.
javax.swing.JComponent provides many of the basic form types found in the Windows.Form classes.

The thread title states the problem. I have downloaded JDKs several times, most recently a half-hour ago. When I double-click on them, Windows prompts me to confirm that I want to install the software. When I clear the prompt ("OK"), the prompt goes away, but nothing else happens. The same situation exists when I confirm that I would like to accept the most recent Java update.

My machine is an AMD Phenom II Black dual-core
8 GB RAM
17 TB HDD
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Why can't I install a Java compiler on my Windows 7 computer?

A:Cannot Install Java Compiler or Java Updates

Java may not be working correctly on your system. The Java (Sun) website offers a lot of help and suggestions to correct possible problems. Here are some links that you might explore to resolve your issue(s):

To find out if Java is working properly on your system visit: Test your Java Virtual Machine (JVM), and then, go to the Java website for the most recent Java downloads.

To check which version of Java you have, go to: Verify Java Version
and Java Help

There are several different Java apps, and you may not have downloaded the correct one for your system (and for your needs). One common problem is that if you use 32-bit and 64-bit browsers interchangeably, you will need to install both 32-bit and 64-bit Java in order to have the Java plug-in for both browsers.

There is also a lot of help offered at this site: Java + You Under the big red /Free Java Download’ button in smaller print is a link to a Java scan called: "Do I have Java?" Let Java scan your machine and see what the results are. If the scan says your machine doesn't have Java installed click the option to install the latest Java version. If the scan says you already have a previous version of Java installed, you can go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, left-click Java to highlight it, and Uninstall it.

Also, the Java app you tried to install may have been corrupted during installation. If you need to remove your current Java app, you can run this tool called JavaRA (from Major Geeks – a very reliable forum) to remove old Java versions.

Here's a link to the Java downloads page: Java Downloads for All Operating Systems

After installing Java, restart your browser and verify Java has been installed correctly. You can verify that it has been installed correctly by clicking this link.

I tried to install Yawcam and it called for Java.

Tried to install Java and the install hung.

Checked some threads and came back and tried a standalone install.

The standalone didn't seem very standalone, still seemed web based to me, but anyway...

The Install quickly informed me that the install was unsuccessful - like almost immediately, before even trying, like it had read that info from some log the previous install had left.

I tried to Uninstall. Doesn't show on Windows list of installed progs.

Tried Java Uninstall service or prog or whatever they call it

It wouldn't run because it apparently needs Java to run.

So here I am. Win7 with no Java on it. And Win7 I can't begin to try to put Java on it because of the Java on it.

Any ideas what I could do?

The machine is 64bit, i3, Asrock motherboard.

Hello,
I need some help please. I try to describe my problem as accurate as possible, if I do anything wrong, please let me now and I will try to do better. (Sorry that my english is not so good)

Two days ago my antivirus Programm Avira found the viruses TR/ATRAPS.Gen and TR/ATRAPS.Gen2 and EXP/JAVA.Rafold.A.Gen on my Computer. I put them in quarantine and downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I let it run and deleted the infected programms that Malwarebytes found. When I ran Avira Scan and Malwarebytes again, None of them showed any virus. But I am not sure if the viruses really are removed or just hidden.
Today Avira showed the viruses JAVA/Lamar.dkw.14. One of the files I could put in quarantine, but it said, that the files in the archives cannot be removed.

I would be really grateful for some help.

Edit: My computer has Windows 7.

Is it even safe to have Java Runtime on your PC as I am aware that java has a lot of vulnerabilities when it comes to browsers.

The reason I ask is because I need Java Runtime to use DirSyncPro, but given its reputation I'm a bit hesitant.

thanks.

JRE is the Java that runs in your browsers. If DirSyncPro does not run in any browser, you can just disable Java in your browsers.

How do I disable Java in my web browser?

I am a newbie in cybersecurity and this past Friday it was announced online that Java seems to contain some vulnerability that could be exploited for cyberinvasion I tried to follow the instruction on pcmag http www pcmag com article asp but found that my Java control panel with java i trouble my vulnerability - recent have java looks quot different quot from what was described I am a little freaked out and so coming here for help My laptop specs Win version -bit OS When I recent java vulnerability - i have trouble with my java clicked into the Java control panel ps mine says Java -bit don t know if this matters I found the same panel as what pcmag described However when I clicked into the security tab instead of having a page where it displays quot enable Java content in the browser quot with security level bar see pcmag article in my security tab I only got the following on my tab Certicates Use certificates to positively identify yourself certifications authorities and publishers And a click button quot certicates quot I usually log in my computer using non-admin so I thought this might be why the Java panel looks different But even after I log in using admin I saw exactly the same under admin Java secruity tab Questions- why do I get a different quot security tab quot is my laptop ALREADY infected if yes what should I do I have MS security essentials installed and updated daily Scanning with the security essentials found no threats if no is there a way I could quot restore quot my Java to the quot original quot page and quot disable quot it Any help will be greatly appreciated Thank you

A:recent java vulnerability - i have trouble with my java

Morning seraphin - no worries, I don't suspect.

From the Java panel, check for an update - I don't believe you've got the latest version and once you do get the latest update, when you select the Security Tab the new option (to disable) will be there.

HEADS UP - when you download the latest version, be sure to un-check what ever comes bundled with it (it might be the ASK toolbar or perhaps Chrome, I can't remember).
Let me know if that works, ok?

onward,

Winterland

Why install java and what can i do with java after installed on windows OS?
Thanks.

A:Why install java and what can i do with java after installed on windows OS?

Java is needed by some applications.
Considering the security risks I would avoid it unless needed.

A:Need Help removing Java/byteverify and java/classloader

Hi, The usual method is to clear the Java cache:

Open the Control Panel, and look for Java Plug-In or similar Java item, open that, find the tab that says something like "Web cache" then hit that, and find the "Clear Files" button and clear the cache.

Then run a new virus scan, nothing should be found.

For the latest version 1.5+ of the Java Runtimes, you should do it this way:

You may possibly have adware that you don't know about.

Download AdWareCleaner AdwCleaner Download to your desktop
1.Right-click on adwcleaner.exe and select Run As Administrator to launch the application.
2.Click on Delete button.
3.Confirm each time with OK.
4.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile in your reply.
Note: You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[Sn].txt as well - n is the order number.
