Another Flash Player problem

Q: Another Flash Player problem

I have recently done a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate and IE9. When I try to play a movie in IE9 (for example Youtube) I get the message: "You need to upgrade your adobe flash player to view this video".

I have seen many threads on this forum with similar probs but not exact. I have uninstalled FP using Adobe Uninstaller, checked my Macromedia folders are empty and installed FP version 10.3.183.5.

It's strange because it worked fine last week before I had to re-install for other reasons. Does Windows ever install 100% properly? Not for me - ever.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

This pop-up is driving me crazy! It pops up on the video screen I want to watch in Fox News website -- I haven't noticed it popping up on other sites as yet. It will list the site asking for permission to store information on my computer. The link I have attached below gives instructions on how to remove this pop-up. Is this flash player thing safe or is it some kind of virus or malware? The attached link refers to it as spyware. If I were to remove the Flash player program, will it affect playing games or whatever on my laptop. I need help, please.

We have IE Say a user goes to MSN com The ad on the right is a Flash object Some of our users will see that object flickering when scrolling up or down on the page or when hovering their mouse over it It's quite annoying Almost all users are running Adobe Flash Player but I think I've seen this happen on systems with Macromedia Flash Player as well Other systems don't have the problem I've seen this happen on one system and not another while both seemed to have the same Flash objects installed Uninstalling all Flash players using Adobe's prescribed Flash Player uninstall tool seems to work at first but users later complain again Note that they just about always end up installing Flash Player again because sites ask for it I don't believe I've seen Adobe Object 9.0.28.0) Flash V. Player (shockwave 9 Using Flash R28 Ie Flickering Flash - Objects - Activex 6 this on any XP systems at all including my own but most of our users have Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0) Win K Does anybody know why this happens or how to permanently fix it Thanks Hotshot

A:Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0)

More info: Adobe Flash Player 9, Macromedia Flash Player 8, and Macromedia Flash Player 10 all produce the same result--Flash objects that flicker when you put your mouse over any part of them. Moving Flash objects will flicker constantly while moving and stop flickering when the animation is done. SWF files (at least the one at www.stormwerks.com/linked/stuf/AYB2.swf) work without a problem when using Adobe Flash Player 9.

If I don't have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed, the Win2K machines prompt me to install them for almost any site that uses Flash (I guess most recent Flash objects cannot be viewed with the older Macromedia Flash Players).

Any suggestions?

Currently running Windows Vista w/ Service Pack 1

A few months ago I encountered a problem with Firefox 2.0 and flash items. Whenever I tried to pause or mute a stream on justin.tv and a couple other sites nothing happened. Most other sites however, such as ustream.tv, work perfectly fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no success. After about a month it fixed itself but now it's happening again. What's strange is I have no problems when using chrome. The settings even transfer over to firefox. For example, if I lower or mute the volume in chrome, when I go back to firefox, the volume is lowered or muted like it was in chrome. I'm completely out of ideas.

A:Flash player problem

Seems more like a Firefox problem than a Flash ptoblem. You may want to tinker around with Firefox addons. Adobe released a new version of Flash last week so make sure you have that first.

Hi, for some weeks I continually have the problem that I get a message that I need to install the adobe flash player on both IE and Non IE browsers. I have used the adobe uninstaller and then downloaded the latest versions, which will then work okay but the next day I get the same message.
Has anyone got ideas on how to fix this problem.

Thanks.

A:Flash Player Problem

The next time you see that message, don't do anything. Instead, go to Control Panel>>Flash Player>>Advanced Tab and press "Check Now". That will take you to Adobe's website to a page showing you the version you have installed and a table showing the current version. (If you want to update to current, there is also a link on that page to the "Player Download Center".) The idea is to see if you really need to install the player or if the website telling you to install isn't designed properly.

As more websites are including dynamic banners on their pages,
this problem is getting more annoying. It seems like Macromedia
Flash Player (ver 7) is hogging all of my little 75 MHzzzz processor
on my W95 system. In many cases the page will not fully load
until the "movie" is over. (Can't scroll until page loads, etc.)

Is there a friendlier player? Are there any settings I can adjust?

I haven't got a clue...

A:Problem with flash player

It's possible the flash player is already on the system but not enabled. You give no system information for the computer or browser, but I will "assume" Windows XP, IE:

Open IE> tools> Manage Add-ons>>there are two sections here: 1. Add-ons currently loaded and 2. Add-ons previously used> change the dialog box by clicking on the small arrow point to the right of it> look in each section until you find "shockwave flash object"> click to highlight> click on Enable> Apply> OK.

I hope this works for you. This is a common thing-flash player on but not enabled.

Hello, I come here with a very severe problem.
Till a few days ago my flash player was running perfectly well until all of a sudden all videos through all websites stopped playing. Youtube plays but takes a long time to even retrieve the video. One thing I've observed is even while retrieving the video the download rate is maxed out @ around 1mbps and suddenly the video loads with a lot of it already buffered.
The usual route being Retrieve vid---> buffer----> play .....But the first two steps are going on together almost. It's almost as if the video is retrieved and buffering but does not play till a very long time. I'm talking atleast 30 mins here. I've update flash for windows and chrome that also includes the security update. There could be malware of some kind but not sure that's the reason.
NEED HELP GUYS !

Make use of the Adobe Flash Player Test Site.

If you're attempting to download videos from YouTube, I believe it's a violation of their policy.

not necessarily.are you running windows xp? the latest version for xp is adobe flash player 9 active x. try this go to your control panel and look in your add/remove programs for adobe flash player 9 active x 2.33mb. if you dont see it you dont have it. if you dont have it go to www.softwarepatch.com look in the side headings for software then look for adobe flash player active x stand alone version. download and install it and it should solve your problem.

Hello all ,

I've recently had some problems with the Flash Player. When I turn on my computer and, for example, play a YouTube video it will play fine for about 40 seconds - 1:20 and then it will stop, wait 2 seconds and then restart playing again for 2 seconds and then repeat until the video is over. Anything after that which is Flash runs very slow. I have uninstalled, rebooted and installed the Flash Player several times but nothing seems to work.

Now, I have all the requirements needed and it isn't my Internet connection. My sister is using a laptop with specs below my PC and videos and Flash related things on there run perfectly. Anybody have any ideas on what it could be?

PS. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I have 3 users set up on my desktop PC (XP) - 2 users have Flashplayer and one (the administrator) doesn't. When on the administrator account it tells me to install Flash Player, but clearly it already is installed on the PC as the other users can see it and it is listed in the programmes. I have tried uninstalling the flash player and reinstalling but I end up in the same position I'm in now.

I guess in the administrator there must be a switch or something that isn't ticked or is ticked that is preventing me from seeing the programme.

Does anyone have any ideas that don't involve going near the register?

Thanks

Run the Flash Player uninstaller if you have had a Flash player before.
If you are using IE only, use this standalone installer, close your browser and run it from your desktop instead of the web.

If you use Firefox, use this one, Flash Player 9.0.47.0 (Complete Standalone Installer) for Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape

When I play the video, I get sound, but no video, just a green screen. Sometimes I can delete browsing history and it fixes it, but sometimes I have to restart the computer. It happens almost everyday and while it's not a big deal, it gets sooooooo annoying. Is my Flash Player damaged or is there something else wrong? I also have CCCP codec pack if that is usefull information, but I have never had a problem with it though. Thanks in advance.

Strange. I recently got my Hard Drive replaced on my laptop after sending it in, and now after getting everything set up (there's always SOMETHING having problems after a fresh start on my HD), I'm finding on IE every time I view a video, a small box entitled "Macromedia Flash" shows up in the video area that says, "Connecting..." then says, "A download error occurred. Try to download again?" No matter how many times I hit "Retry," it doesn't work. And of course I DO have Flash installed... latest version, etc. Meanwhile Flash on my Firefox works fine.

What's the problem here and how do I fix it?

A:Flash Player problem...

Hi Powerpunk 5000, you could try reinstalling the Flash Player plugin.

If that doesn't help or if you've tried it already....perhaps your anti-virus, firewall and/or ad blocking software is preventing the playback of some content. You can try temporarily disabling any such programs one by one then trying again.

Does the same thing happen for other users on your computer?

I'm not sure what's wrong, just this morning I go on the internet and I went on Facebook went into a game and the page was blank...sometimes it says Internet Explorer cannot display this page, I tried with Firefox too same problem. I tried many different games, I tried on a different computer too, just now I updated my flash player, but I'm still getting a blank screen..

Can someone please help me out? :/
I don't know what's wrong..
At first I was even having some loading problems everywhere but that's ok for now except some pages take a while to load.
I checked the adobe flash player website and it says mine is installed correctly and I have the latest version.
So maybe just a FB problem?..but nobody else seems to be having this issue. :/

Am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit and IE 10 Sp1 with the latest version of Flash Player installed but cannot get the video clips on Fox News
and CNN to play. Have uninstalled and installed Flash several times with no change. ActiveX is installed and activated and the player seems to work on other websites that I tried. Contacted Fox News about the problem but have received no answer. If it works on other sites it should work on Fox and CNN.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi
I have a problem with Winxp(home) thats driving me mad. I recently set up three users in winxp one of which is the administrator. When im in the admin user account and I go onto a website containing some flash content I can view the content. Though when I go to the same site as a non admin user the flash content does not show.

Ive tried uninstalling the flash player and installing it again. Though I can obviously only do this in the admin account. It dooes not change the situation in the ordinary user accounts. Whats more some sites show flash content and others don`t.

Has anyone experienced this problem too, or can anyone suggest a fix ?

Thanks a million

A:Flash Player problem

Try dumping the Internet Temp files while logged in as each user. If problem persists:

Please download HijackThis. Create a folder at C:\HJT and move HijackThis.exe there. Run a scan and save the log file. Post the whole log file here. Do not fix anything since most of them listed there are harmless (some are system required). This program will help us determine if there is any spyware/malware on your computer.

Hi,

This is something that's been bugging me for a while but I haven't gotten around to it. Everytime I view a flash clip on say youtube I get these little skips frequently kind of like on a scratched up cd. I tried a bunch of remedies involving edits to about:config for similar issues but none worked for me. In safe mode, it works great but I have tried disabling all my extensions and plugins ('cept flash of course) but the problem still occurs when in normal mode. I'm a bit puzzled.. Does anyone have any clue what besides extensions and plugins could cause this behavior?

Thanks.

A:Firefox Flash Player Problem

Have you got the latest version of Firefox - 3.0.1? If so, I suppose it's possible that something went wrong during the upgrade from v 3.0 and the flash plugin got corrupted.

If you haven't got 3.1, use the built in updater in your current version of FF and upgrade. If the problem persists after upgrading, you could try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. I can provide details on how to do that if you need them.

Good morning to all!

How can I delete the latest update to Adobe Flash Player 10?

I just downloaded the latest update to Adobe Flash Player 10. The notice for the update came via a popup when I access a YouTube video.

Now there are long delays in accessing YouTube videos. Prior to the update, access was almost immediate. This is very frustrating. Trying to contact Adobe is a lost cause. I won't go into the issues here, but I end up in an endless loop entering data which is rejected.

Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I didnt turn Javascript off, and before the update I was using Flasher player 10 just fine. I did try to reinstall the player, but received an error message telling me to abort or retry. Everytime I retried....I continued to receive the same message. So i'm not sure what happened when I agreed to the update, because obviously something occurred in the process. So I would greatly appreciate it if someone could give me some advice on what to do in order to get my flashplayer working again.

Hi AngelGray,The only other approach that I could suggest would be for you to download and run the Adobe Flash Uninstaller. This will remove all versions of Adobe Flash from all browsers. Next, download and run the current stable version of Flash Player 11.4.402.287 (Non-IE).Finally, make sure that you have the most current version of your Non-IE browser (i.e Firefox 16.0.1).

I've xp pro.
I've adobe photoshop cs2. I clicked on burger king when they said This site requires the Adobe Flash Player. Get Flash. I downloaded the newer version of flash player and installed and it worked now but I turned of my computer later I turned on and went back to burger king fast site when they said get the flash player?
Can anybody help me?
Thanks

A:Adobe flash player problem

It is normal to have to reinstall flash site. Have you tried installing flash again and then browsing to the site to see if it works. Be sure to restart your browser after installing flash. Reboot and browse to the burger king site again and see if that helps.

I need some advice about a problem with Adoble Flash Player.

If I install it, it will run for a while and then quit working within a day. Uninstalling and reinstalling with the Adobe uninstaller will bring it back.

I have Zone Alarm on my computer but it is not the problem because I have turned it off and that does not make any difference at all.

It looks like something is interfering with it but I have no idea of how to find out what is causing the problem.

Anyone experienced a similar problem?

A:Adobe Flash Player problem

I haven't had your problem but I do remember reading somewhere that it could sometimes be necessary to run the uninstaller more than once.

Possibly to do with the fact that there are two versions, the one with Active X and the one without, both of which have the same version number! (currently 9,0,47,0)

This started recently. I noticed that when I watched videos on youtube they'd be kinda choppy. Like the audio would keep going but the video would stop for a second or two. At first I thought it was youtube because of heavy traffic but it does it on other flash based players. I ran clean up! and spybot S&D and my antivirus but nothing. I tested it on another computer account and it worked fine but not on my admin account. :[ I redownloaded flash, which didn't help and i also checked for videocard updates but there wasnt any. Help please? I'm running Vista 64-bit.

A:Problem with Adobe Flash Player

so.. I have noticed it only occurs on Firefox. Also, Firefox seems to.. lag? Like when I'm typing something in the search bar it takes a second to recognize it. :[ This is a new computer (got it around a month ago) so I don't know what's the problem. I've ran spyware scanss and virus scans and nothing.

A:Problem with Adobe Flash Player.

Hi Amethyste,

the latest version of the Flash plugin does have problems with some sites. If all was well before updating the latest version, it may be an idea to remove it and install version 8 again as it's the most stable release.

You can download version 8 here.

If you have any problems removing your current version, you can use the Flash Player uninstaller which you can grab here.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask :)

Hi,
I have just upgraded Flash Player 11 and now every time I reboot I have to re install the player.
It works perfectly both with Firefox 7.01 and IE9 (both 32 and 64 bit versions) once re installed.
There are also no error messages and Flash Player remains in Control Panel/Programs and Features. It's just that it does't work after a reboot.

Any sugestions?

A:Adobe Flash Player Problem: HJT log

I was following instructions to come here and post this HJT log because I'm being told my computer IS infected, but the person won't tell me how or where, despite have the log posted elsewhere.

I have had no replies to this post and hope that this information helps.

What created the problem was going to post a blog entry on internetarchive.org. That website told me that in order to listen to an mp3 of a podcast I uploaded I would need adobe flash player and allows for a link to that site, which I clicked on. The flash player download site comes up, but that's it. I can't click on any of the links, or even hit the scroll button to look further down the screen. Clicking anywhere locks up my IE7. Subsequently I can't get the Flash Player.

To date I've tried everything I know from previous help here. I've run IE7 with the -noext, I've disabled the AVG (which had no viri found in the vault with the latest update on it, and even tried turning off XP's security settings, I've run Glary Utilities and cleaned everything that could be cleaned, then went and tried it again.

The end result is the same. The internet is filled with a jillion sites, and this is the only site I can't get to work....and nobody can tell me why it's happening.

Please help!!

I downloaded the latest version(9.0.124.0) of Adobe Flash Player for Netscape. Unfortunately, the programmer used the same generic file name and so it replaced a previous file version on my hard drive which allowed me to view Youtube videos with Netscape 7.2; the new version no longer works. I followed the instructions and used the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller first, closed the Netscape files and installed the latest version-it didn't work. I then followed the Technote (Troubleshooting Adobe Flash Player installer for Windows) and also downloaded & ran SubInACL.msi & Flash_Player_9_ActiveX.zip-still doesn't work.I also ran Flashp8.exe, then IE also stopped working with Youtube. I re-downloaded the IE version of Flash Player and Youtube now works with it. I don't use IE or Netscape 8, so I want to get the Flash Player to work with Netscape 7.2.

I got searchqu on my pc. I thought I removed it using Adaware, Spybot and Malwarebytes. But every now and again my browser redirected again. So I looked in the registry and deleted anything with searchqu, ilivid, and bandoo in it.

I thouht it was all good then, but then I noticed flash player wasn't working. So I uninstalled, then reinstalled. It worked, but after a restart, it stopped working again. I tried again, with the same problem. I then tried to install a previous version of flash, with the same result. I then tried a system restore, still the same.

I use windows 7 64 bit withe the latest firefox. No sign of the browser redirecting anymore though.

The same thing happens with Internet explorer.

Hello,And welcome to BleepingComputer.com, before we can assist you with your question of: Am I infected? You will need to perform the following tasks and post the logs of each if you can.Malwarebytes Anti-MalwareNOTEMalwarebytes is now offering a free trial of their program, if you want to accept it you will need to enter some billing information, so that at the end of the trial you would be charged the cost of the product. For instructions with screenshots, please refer to the How to use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Guide. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen:Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. I have downloaded and installed macromedia flash. I get messages like the one below when I try to watch videos on dateline.nbc for example. I've tried deinstalling and reinstalling with the same results every time.
Any ideas?

To use this product, you need to install free software
This product requires Microsoft? Internet Explorer 6, Microsoft? Media Player 10, and Macromedia Flash 6. To download these free software applications, click the links below and follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 1: Download Macromedia Flash Player
Macromedia Flash player is free to download
Once the installations are complete, reload this page.

A:Macromedia Flash Player Problem

You may be trying to install an old version of Flash Player. Two things suggest this. The mention of Macromedia - Flash is now owned by Adobe. Also, the mention of version 6. Version 8 is the current release (8.0.24.0 to be exact). Try downloading from here.

I'm having a problem in viewing video clips on MSN and Youtube. When I click on the video I get a message to upgrade to a newer version of Macromedia. I click on the link to upgrade and download, message download successful. Click to open the video and I get the same message again about downloading a newer version of Macromedia.
Before I was able to view the video and Youtube. I haven't made any changes to my settings or added any new programs to the system. I'm running XP SP2 home edition. Would anybody have an idea where I might be having the problem?
