IE8 temporary internet files - can't see !

Q: IE8 temporary internet files - can't see !

Hi,
I know the files are there, and I know the directory ( as defined in IE8 itself ), but I can't see them in any other application.

I want to use my Eraser program to erase these files properly, rather than just deleting them.

Does anyone know how I can do this ?

Many thanks

Preferred Solution: IE8 temporary internet files - can't see !

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

You can use "CCleaner": CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download

Hi,

I am running IE8 on Windows 7 (Home Premium 64bit). My Temporary Internet Files folder is C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5. I have enabled Show Hidden Files and Folders and removed the tick for Hide Protected Operating System files.

I've noticed that streamed .wma file appeared as .dat file in the temporary internet folder. I've tried copying it to the desktop and changed the extension to .wma but it will not play at all. I have the same problem in another laptop running Windows Vista. In Windows XP platform, I have no problem retrieving the streamed files as they are saved in the original file format (i.e. .mp3 or .wma) in the Temporary Internet Files folder.

Please advise.

Thank you & regards

I'm have difficulty understanding the real problem since I have always set my browsers to delete at the end of a session, I use CCleaner to delete junk (read stuff in the temp folder).

In any case, you can help us by updating your system specs.

Hello,
Our company  website contains a collection firmware and executable for our customers to download. Customers running Chrome, Firefox, or early versions of the IE have no issues. Customers running IE11 and
Edge on Windows 10 report that .exe files download properly, but the firmware files with a custom extension do not. Instead, IE11 opens a new tab and the new window contains a little "X" icon. That's it. Nothing in the Download area.
Some of our more adventurous customers searched through there Temporary Internet folders and found the firmware files stored as .ICO files. When the files were copied out and renamed back to to the proper extension
(the main part of the name was correct), our product read the files just file. Any idea why are the files getting their extension changed to .ICO and why are they not appearing in the download area. This is affecting multiple customers.
Thanks!

Welcome to TSG Outsat123

There are numerous ways to empty the Temporary Internet Files using the Windows applications. Some safe methods are given below.

If the above stated methods don't work, then it is better to use an external cleaning utility. CCleaner and ATF-Cleaner are my primary choices.

Hi,

Does anyone know why V4moatads is replacing all the URLS in "Temporary Internet Files" on my PC running Windows XP?  I am accessing temporary internet files by selecting "tools", "internet options", "settings" then "view files". Is there another way to access temporary internet files that will display the URL's ? There doesn't seem to be a lot of info about V4moatads on the net.

Thanks

A:Temporary Internet Files

Based on some digging I've done, moatads.com is a website that seems to specialize in web analytics. It's difficult to tell who owns it, although the nameservers point to Amazon Web Service, so whoever owns it is using Amazon's servers to operate the service.

It can show up as v4.moatads.com or js.moatads.com, depending on whether it is using cookies or Javascript to monitor your behavior on the Internet. It's adware or a potentially unwanted program. It's appearing in your temporary Internet files because that's where things like cookies get stored.

Well I'm a system admin here and I have a bit of a confusing question I hope I can make it clear It appears that when one tries to access their OWN temporary internet files folder C Internet Temporary Files... Documents and Settings USER Local Settings Temporary Internet Files it comes up with a huge list of files Anyone that's looked here before will recall that it normally sorts this into folders Content IE OLK etc and then Temporary Internet Files... again into subfolders However you try pulling that up and you'll just get lots of Temporary Internet Files... files no folders whatsoever in Temporary Internet Files However if you actually type in the extended path the folders exist they're just not displaying Further if any OTHER user tries viewing that folder Those category folders show up in the traditional manner Even the administrator account has this issue You access your own Temporary Internet Files folder it shows files only access it from another admin account shows the folders as it used to display I can post screenshots if this isn't clear enough This happens at my home system and on every Windows XP and Windows machine here at work Anyone know when this happened because it's obviously a Microsoft originating issue Is it just isolated to me or is there a MS patch Temporary Internet Files... note I missed somewhere

I cleared my Temporary Internet Files before I ran Microsoft Security Essentials. Even so, it took 7 hours to run MSE, scanning over 2,160,000 items. And most of those items scanned were in this folder that I can't access:

C:\users\mynamehere\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\TemporaryInternetFiles\Low\Content.IE5\blahblahblah

What is that stuff and how do I get rid of it? All I can see are about 100 cookies that are left as Temporary Internet Files after I clean it the normal way through Tools>Internet Options>BrowsingHistory>Delete.

Thanks in advance!

I'd echo GiveMeAbreak's suggestion.
Try CCleaner. Do not use the registry cleaner section (at all.)
You may find this link more useful.
http://download.piriform.com/ccsetup316.exe

However, I doubt that most of the scanning was in the temporary internet files folder. Windows 7 is quite big, and it takes time to scan that much data.

Hi Folks,

Recently, I've noticed an excess amount of temporary internet files on my computer.

Oddly enough, I'm not using Firefox or IE that often. What could be running that would utilize all these temp files?

Only new programme updated is my Trend Micro. All other programmes updated.

Removed IE11 and reinstalled it.
Changed passwords for Wifi connection
Checked msconfig to ensure not to many programmes are running at start-up.

Your suggestions would be most appreciated.

Cheers, ms

While in the folder click tools and then folder options and while in the folder options click the view top on top and find and click where it saids show all files and folders and see if you can see them then.

Very wierd that you can't view them. If you can view them after doing this just highlight all the files and right click and then to properties and click on read-only or Archive to see if this helps you.

Bobby

win 7 stores files in different places than XP. in win 7 files are stored in libraries, that were in their infancy in XP. You might want to look in c:\users\your username\downloads, or music or temp files under your name.

You streaming in a browser? or using a player, or in a gadget.

If you tell us more about the setup we can probably find them if they are stored at all

Ken

Edit for an idea: you can also search for *.mp3 with todays' date to see where they are

Hello, Last days I found, that system changed default location of TIF to path:
C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Temp\Temporary Internet Files

But that's wrong, before it was:
C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files

If I want to change it back - Move folder in IE settings doesn't work. I have no idea why it was changed, or what program did it, but it is really annoying, because all cookies, history and temp files are now in my TEMP directory.

Shell folders in registry are ok, byt destination is still wrong. Fresh install of OS (in virtual machine) is ok. Anyone knows solution?

A:Temporary Internet Files

Have you not found out yet that windows likes to hide its little trinkets in various places?

You can usually find TIF's in at least three different folders.

I wrote a batch file in XP to remove all the junk files from all of XP's little hiding places. That batch file is nearly forty lines long.

Without such a program, you'll probably find MS's "Disk Cleanup" to be very helpful. Run it in Extended mode for an even better cleanup.
here's the shortcut to run Disk Cleanup in extended mode.

%SystemRoot%\System32\Cmd.exe /c Cleanmgr /sageset:35 & Cleanmgr /sagerun:35

Just copy and paste this shortcut into a NEW desktop shortcut and run it for a much improved cleanup of your HD.
When selecting items for the program to remove, its safe to select anything but "Setup Logs". leave those alone.

Good Luck,
The Doctor

Is it just me, or are there others who feel the same way about the temporary Internet files? Years ago before we had the wide-band connections, when we had the slow dial-up connections, the Temporary Internet Files was a good idea. But these days, in my opinion, I think that it's not only un-necessary, but when you have too many files it can actually slow things down. I can't understand why MS just doesn't do away with them. But then, maybe there is just something I don't understand about them.

A:Temporary Internet Files

Ummmm. Sorry but you are just plain wrong. On so many accounts.
Things would be a lot slower if a browser had to re download everything single item on the web page every time it was visited or refreshed. Nor is it the cause of your "slow-down" something else is going on with your system. Furthermore, every single browser maker out there implements a cache. It having a cache was problematic or only required for "slow" connections then why would they have one too?

There may be several areas where temporary files are stored and some are hidden.

I would guess the pictures were downloaded, but I may not understand your exact situation.

Some of ot i recognise from websights I've been to, some of it (pics, for example) I have never seen in my life.

I have XP home, no LAN,Use MSIE 6. I noticed last night that my Temporary Internet Files Folder is nearly empty. Only 5 files there and, no matter how much I surf, nothing else shows up in the folder.

My cookies are gone, but since they are also in another folder, that is not a problem.

I have run Norton AV, checked System Tools, scanned and defragged, run Adaware and Spybot, etc. I also did a restore. Nothing shows up as unusual. All my critical updates are current, and just a few XP updates haven't been updated because they do not pertain to me, I don't *think*.

What else can I do, what may have caused this, in 8 years of computing, this is a first for me.

Thanks,

I downloaded a Word file online, but instead of saving it somewhere, I chose just to open it. I then made a bunch of changes, saved by pressing Ctrl-S, and exited. I've done this before, assuming that the file was gone. But does the modified Word file exist anywhere on the hard drive? Isn't there some folder where I could find the document with the changes I made? Thanks to whoever helps out.

A:Temporary Internet Files

After you made the changes and saved it, where on the hard drive did you save it to?
That's where it should be. If you have no idea where it might be, and you know the name of the file, you could do a search for it. (Start menu/Search option)

Please don't ask why I do this but I have looking in the temporary internet files and reading the emails from yahoo email. ie 'show letter' and it has been working successfully, until now. For some reason the settings seem to have changed and everytime I bring up a 'show letter' from a yahoo email a different page appears which reads 'Your login time has expired'. I've tried to change things in 'internet options' but nothing seems to work. Is there anybody who knows what I need to do to rectify this so that I can read those files again?
Thanks

A:temporary internet files

The "timing out" of an Yahoo e-mail account is a saftey measure. There may be a way to change the settings. Im not sure though. It would have to be done by the actual member who is on the account.

Why dont you just sign in and read the mail?

Or are you attempting to read someone elses e-mail?

If the later is the case, Im afraid that you are out of luck.

Hi there, I'm kinda new here, but I have a question about Internet Explorer and a problem I am having with it. I have had this problem for a long time now. It seems that whenever I shut down or reboot my computer, all my temporary internet files delete. This has been getting very annoying for me, especially since I use dial-up. Does anyone know why this is happening, and anyway to fix it? Oh, and it happens when I shut down/reboot NOT when I close the browser.

I am using Win XP and IE6, and any help is appreciated! Thanks.

A:Help with temporary internet files please!

Welp, IE won't do this on its own.

Where are you looking for these files and what is annoying about them being deleted anyway? Sure there's not another application doing this?

When I run CCleaner, I continually get lots of IE Temporary Internet Files to delete.
I have never used IE, of any flavor, since Win 95.
Also, IE is unchecked in Windows Features.
I'm curious why I continue to see TIF.

A:Temporary Internet Files In IE

Some other programmes will use parts of IE to work proper, even though you don't use IE and you say it is not on pc, the guts of IE is still there and some other programmes will use these services. Before you run CCleaner again have a look at the TIF and you will most probably find that they look very familiar from being shown in some other program you didn't realize was relying on IE's HTML code. My missus only uses firefox and there is always TIF in IE, in short nothing to worry about.

Hello,

My father is not very computer savvy. So I'm trying to help him out, otherwise he just complains to me. His problem is that when when he tries to look at the OE6 attachments in picture viewer they all get dumped into the Temporary Internet Files folder that is also used by IE. He doesn't want to save them, he simply wants to look at them in Picture viewer (back and forward arrows simplify it for him). So is there a way separate where OE attachments and IE temp files get dropped as opposed to saving them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can delete the files from IE, but can't see it listed when I look for it through my computer.

Another problem that I'm having is that all the files are not listed in the Temp File.
When I watch a video from Youtube - I delete all the files in the Temp file, watch the video, refresh temp screen - It lists only 3 or 4 files and none of them are bigger than 3KB.

Everything was fine a few months ago. Any Ideas?

Theres a known issue with windows that once the temporary internet files gets too large, aspects of IE stop working (View source, open from location etc) as no more files can be written. Every few months when I hit around 400-500Mb of temporary files this used to happen to me, simply deleting them all solved the problem until it got too big again.

Unfortunately something weird has started to happen with mine, every time I reboot View Source loses functionality as does open from location... Its just happened to me again a few mintues ago, and I only have 2.1Mb of temporary files. I cleared it, and it started working again.

I don't really want to have to clear the files every time I reboot, is there any way I can fix it permenantly?

1.C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat

2. C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporary_Internet_Files

This Wikipedia article says that the reason they are being stored in the second one is because of a possible malware issue. I had been infected with a backdoor Trojan some years ago, is that the reason why I have both of these? Do all XP users have both of these?

So I guess my question is, is it normal to have temp interenet files stored in both of these, or is the result of the backdoor Trojan?

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

The Temporary Internet Files folder contains Web pages that are stored on your hard disk for quick viewing. You can delete them by going into Internet Explorer selecting Tools (top right) then Internet Options on the drop down menu.

Also, you can choose the amount of disk space to use for these files. Click Settings on the General tab of the Internet Options dialog box.

Good Luck to you.

Is there any reason why the 'Search' option in Windows 2000's Windows Explorer refuses to find any text in users' "Temporary Internet Files" folders? Searches for text in those folders always comes up empty even logged in as administrator.

Neither is there a right-click "Send to" option available while browsing those folders. Is there a security option somewhere that can be set to allow those functions?

Hello; I am logged on with admin privs, I run Windows Explorer as admin, and have set security properties for all folders, yet I still cannot get access to my OWN Temporary Internet Files folder. Sure, I have just come over to Win7 from XP Pro, and there is a huge difference in security, but I have always thought that when you are the computer's administrator, you have access to ALL files and folders. My computer is not a member of a domain at this time. I know that I can delete the files through IE, and by Disk Cleanup, so it's more curiosity than anything else that I need to know this. I already own the Windows7 Resource kit, but so far I cannot find anything in there about this. Thanks for your help FW

A:Cannot access Temporary Internet Files

You should have access here...even a standard user has access here (they have to or they could not really use I.E.)C:\Users\<User_name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The following folders that in win7 user profile are shortcuts.
"Documents and Settings" and "Application Data", "Cookies", "Local Settings", "My Documents", "NetHood", "PrintHood", "Recent", "SendTo", "Start Menu", "Templates
These shortcuts in Windows 7 are junction points, which are important parts of application compatibility. As Windows 7  is a new Windows Platform, a lot of applications was not designed for it so that they are not fully compatible with Windows 7. To allow these applications access the data on Windows 7 properly, the shortcuts are designed to redirect the applications to obtain the necessary data in the correct directories. Thus, these shortcuts do not contain any files but a new directory of a certain folder. To avoid deleting or modifying the shortcuts by mistake, Windows 7  sets the Read permissions of these folder to Deny. Actually, the shortcuts are hidden by default.
To access these junction points, redirect to the following folders:
Note: As some folders are hidden, please refer to the following steps to show all the hidden files.
Show hidden folders ==============1. Open "Computer", and click "Organize" -> "Folder and Search Options". 2. Click the "View" tab. Under "Hidden files and folders", click "Show hidden files and folders." 3. To display other hidden files, clear the "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" check box.

A:PC is being flooded with temporary internet files without ever going to the web

This line shows up when I run CCleaner and once deleted it comes back again:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\MSS.log 128 KB (when viewing as detailed report)

and is also known as Windows - MS Search (when viewing as summary)

And in this folder there are subfolders that once deleted by the CCleaner also comeback:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\Logs\

This is the complete text from CCleaner and I just ran it an hour ago. In that time all of these files were back on my system:

i accidently deleted my temporary internet files folder - now i can not connect to the internet - what can i do to fix this problem?

I delete my temp internet files frequently. Both online and offline content. Recenly, after running my spyware protection problem, I noticed that even though my temp internet files were supposedly deleted my spyware protection program was scanning hundreds upon hundreds of them. I then ran a virus scan and it did the same thing. I've looked everywhere for them and can't find them anywhere. The only temporary internet file location I found was completely empty. Where else should I be looking?

Thank you in advance!

A:Temporary Internet Files question

This is a GREAT little utility to clean out all those temp files/folders:

The Temp folders should be cleaned out periodically as installation programs and hijack programs leave a lot of junk there. Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Run CleanUp! and click on CleanUp! button. When it asks you if you want to logoff, click on Yes.

Hi,

Hope you can help me with this. I'm trying to get the content of my temporary internet files folder into an excel spreadsheet but I have no idea how to accomplish this. Does anybody know a way how to do this?
Thanks in advance!

A:Temporary Internet Files to Excel

are you wanting to constantly update it or just a one time deal?

one way is to go to your comand prompt, navigate to your temporary internet folder, type (with a space before and after >) dir > list.txt
enter
it will create a file called list.txt in your tif folder, just open that file in excel.

I'm having problems with the Temp Internet files. When I'm in Windows explorer and in C:documents and settings/Jay/local settings/temporary internet files/ it shows very few files, yet when I check the properties of this file it shows 42,730 files, 2.36GB of files with 37 folders! I already checked the "folder view" option under tools to make sure it was set to show hidden files.

I would very much like to know how to view and delete what is in these folders. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A:Temporary Internet Files Issues

Is it your Temp Internet files showing 2.36GB, or is it your Temp files? To view your Temp files click StartClick RunType in %temp%Hit EnterYou can delete all of these files, in your Temp folder.

Hey all,
recently had a suspicious program trying to run named Contacts[1].exe. Crashed and alerted me due to windows error reporter. Thought I remove it after scanning with MBAM,AVG & SAS yet a few minutes ago I get a .exe named Xhwnibgiz .NET Framework trying to install itself. I reject access due to the admin level pop up box, it repeats over and over until I shut it down with task manager. It also requested access on Zonealarm which I obviously blocked.

Both these .exe are located in C:\Users\name\appdata\Local\Temporary Internet Files

However when I try to access this folder, I get 'Access is denied'.
I'm running an administrator account with full privileges.
Using the method of going on IE and deleting temporary internet files there doesn't work as it is referring to a different folder.
Any ideas?

Hi guys, just a quick question, not really a major problem, just a annoyance. I have recently upgraded my computer and there are 3 user profiles on it, a common one, my fathers and mine. All the temporary files from sites that I visit appear on the other identities, I have set user profiles but still no joy. Also when I download music via WinMx, my music appears in the other persons "My Music" folder and not in mine.

Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks for your help

I have lost the original favicons on my desktop to be replaced by the E of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Would deleting the Temporary Internet Files allow me to regain those sites's original logos as Icons on the desktop?
Shamou

A:Flavicons & Temporary Internet Files

Ususally the opposite is true - if you empty your internet cache, the custom icons disappear as they are stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder. I never had much luck making these custom icons "stick", so what I do is create a folder - "Icons" - in my Windows directory, locate the particular favicon (always "favicon.ico" or "favicon[1].ico", etc.) in the Temporary Internet Files folder, copy it to the "Icons" folder, right-click and Rename it to a more suitable name. I then right-click on the shortcut, select Properties, click the 'Change icon' button, and navigate to the saved icon. This way the icon is more permanenly attached to the shortcut. I do the same in Favorites.

PC I do both accounts and this is the reason for my question When I use cleanmgr to delete the temp Temporary Internet Files Question?. internet files my account always has significently less files than my daughters For example today I had a little Temporary Internet Files Question?. over k in my account and my daughter had over k in hers As I always do both accounts one after the other this is therefore in the same time span even though my daughter only spends about the time on the PC that I do It is a similar story every month I spend most of my time browsing various hobby and interest forums like Bleeping Computer com whereas my daughter is mainly on messenger chatting with her friends Would this explain the huge difference in temporary internet files Thank you in advance for any explanation Bluesjunior

A:Temporary Internet Files Question?.

Here is a simple definition from Wikipedia - Temporary Internet Files is a directory on Microsoft Windows computer systems. The directory is used by Internet Explorer to cache pages on websites visited by the user. This allows such websites to load quicker the next time they are visited.Your daughter must be browsing sites in order to pick up these temporary files.

A:Block Temporary Internet Files?

Check out SandboxieIt's free and does all that stuff automatically. When you install it can create a button to run the default browser "sandboxed" meaning that anything that writes to the hard drive is redirected to a folder inside the sandbox. You can set options so that if you download something you want to keep you can either manually copy it out of the sandbox or be prompted for certain folders(some features may be in the paid version but the free version does all you need for system protection.)When you quit all programs that are running sandboxed you can set it to automatically delete everything in the sandbox. This way you can set it to accept all cookies if you want. I have my browsers (Firefox and Opera) set to accept cookies but delete them when I close the browser. For what you are doing Sandboxie would make things a lot easier.

Hi everybody, today I've came across one of the strangest problem I've ever seen. Someone using an older machine (w2k sp4 w/ IE6) at my job got a problem with temporary internet files. Some page from our intranet are cached by IE and it doesn't want to fetch it again unless I go press the "Delete Files" button from Internet Options. I've set the "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to "Every visit to the page" but to no avail.

This computer ran fine for many months without a glitch and no settings have been changed for a long time. The user doesn't even have admin right and she access that page many times every work day. Those pages are generated with classic ASP and have been in use for many years and nobody have seen that bug.

How could this happen?

Is there some other settings affecting cached pages?

Thanks

There are all kinds of possibilities.IE 's technology is not only used by IE Browser itself, but many other applications use it in embedded form. For example, Norton Antivirus and MSDN library. The files these applications open in the embedded IE, also get stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder.Check for any application that you are not running on the second computer.

Hi all,
Just wondering if it is a bad idea to delete the temporary internet files I found in

C:\windows\system32\config\systemprofile\localsettings\temporaryinternetfiles\content.IE5

They are in folders with names like 'KV25W70N' and they are all xml documents, security certificates and revocation lists - none of which means anything to me.

Or is my being too picky about the cleanliness of my harddrive likely to cause problems?
Thanks in advance!

Having visited the forums the last few days I followed advice in other posts to fix my problem. I ran Rkill, TdsKiller, Malware bytes as well as my own virus software. Each found something and removed it so I thought the problem was solved. Then I ran CCleaner to get rid of any remaining garbage and when I looked I noticed there were thousands of temporary internet files. Once cleaned I rebooted the system ran virus checkers again and it only found tracking cookies, about 100 temporary internet files. They were removed upon closing and again I was satisfied the problem was resolved. About two hours later I stopped back to run ccleaner again and again it found over 1000 temporary internet files. What virus is causing this and how do I stop it? Thank you in advance. Note, that's my desktop PC and I am using a laptop alongside it.

A:can not create temporary internet files

Hi,

After checking this issue, there probably is not enough free space on the disk to create the file. Check the available space on the disk. If necessary,
delete some files to make room for the temporary file. Running Disk
Cleanup is a good way.

If the issue persists, you could try to create a new account to test the result.

Hope it helps.

Hi everyone,

I was just reading up on how to clear your cache or deleting your temporary internet files so that it frees up computer space, but mostly I want to protect my privacy so that others cannot see what websites I have visited. I now know how to do this, but my question is, if I am visiting websites while using my AOL browser instead of going directly to Internet Explorer, will the websites I have visited while using the AOL browser be stored in the Temporary Internet Files as well or AOL stores visited sites somewhere else? I know one place that AOL stores visited sites is in their own 'History' file, but will it also store the sites in the IE temp file folders also?

Thanks in advance, everyone, for your help and answers.

A:Temporary Internet Files While Using Aol Brower

Hiya,

Although I cannot answer specifically for AOL's browser, it may help you if I say that apart from IE 7 browser, I use an MSN browser on their subsciption service, their browser history log is seperate from IE and only keeps a record of sites etc, visited whilst using their browser.

Maybe this may help you in your concerns.

Regards,
Tony

I had this problem on my last W7 install but can't recall how I got it to work.

Using Control Panel -> IE options (NO browser windows or any windows of any kind open), I can change the location to D. I can see there is a TIF folder on D now. When I log off (per the popup) and log back on, it's still pointing to C. I've tried multiple times and can't get it to stick.

*sigh*

Hello,

Am not sure about what you have mentioned. Can you please be more specific about the option, you are referring to ?

A:IE 9 not recording temporary internet files

By default it runs in protected mode.
Find it in your 'all programs' list and run it as Administrator.
Should work as you desire.

Hope that does the trick.
