Site no longer opening autmatically: A cookie management problem?

Q: Site no longer opening autmatically: A cookie management problem?

My browser is Maxthon 2.5.18.1000 (runs off IE9's engine). My home page is my.yahoo (customized yahoo) and it is selected to open automatically when Maxthon is opened. For my.yahoo to open, I have to sign in with a username and a password. Until recently, my.yahoo would open automatically without my signing in. However, once I started fooling around with LastPass (a pw manager) and two other cookie eaters (CCleaner and Maxthon's Smart Cookie Cleaner), in order to get to my.yahoo, I now have to sign in. How do I get back to the state in which my.yahoo opens automatically without signing in?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

If your browser uses IE's engine, perhaps an IE solution will work:

I have been on the vistaprint.com webpage many times and now all the sudden I am getting the error telling me that I need to enable cookies. My settings are accept 1st party, block 3rd party and allow session. I have restarted IE and rebooted the computer and I keep getting this! I did recently use Registry Easy to clean out as I have been having some sluggish issues and it totally disabled my CA Security Suite and am really hoping that it didn't mess up anything else. I have searched all over and cannot seem to find the problem.

Hi, newbie here

I've recently taken initiative to improve browser privacy and security by adding uBlock Origin, uMatrix and HTTPS Everywhere to my Chromium browser, but I'm not sure how to approach cookies and site data. I've set uMatrix to delete local storage content set by blocked hostnames, but what about site data not in blocked hostnames? This seems to accumulate quickly.

What I want to do here is block all sites from setting any data with the exception of sites which I need session cookies for logins. Would it be better to rather store these cookies and site data, and clear local storage on exiting the browser? Or is the entire concept of deleting data not in blocked hostnames just unnecessary?

A:Cookie Management

Cookies are harmless + block them will cause trouble to view the websites correctly , either go to Incognito Mode/Private Browsing/In Private where contents will not be save or assign the browser to close and clean them.

I want to keep certain cookies that contain my preferences, like the Bank, etc..., but delete everything else. "Cookie Monster" is the one I remember the most, so I installed it and it doesn't work. Says "Chrome is running" when it's not, and doesn't display any cookies from Internet Explorer 11.

Manually browsing to my IE cookies, they appear encrypted/randomly named and will not allow me to delete any of them manually. Is this normal? I don't remember this being true for IE7.

Is there a cookie management utility that will work with IE 11?

A:Cookie Management Software

Is this the software you speak of?

Cookie Monster - An utility for managing cookies of most usual browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera & Gecko - AMPsoft

There seems to be a large amount of managers out there:

Cookie Monster does not seem to work with IE 11, and gives me nagging errors with Chrome, possibly due to Ad Block Plus Extension being installed.

I want to be able to click certain cookies and blacklist or whitelist them.  I'd like the software to auto-clean every "x" hours, I'd like it to run on browser close, etc...

Any recommendations?

Alright, this time I am looking for a program that works with firefox, what I am looking for is something that will block all cookies except ones from domains/websites I have on an allow list. Like if I just had say sevenforums.com it would accept cookies from sevenforums.com but would block any other cookie period since they are not in the safe/allow list. I checked firefox plugins and download.com for something like this and haven't been able to find one yet. So here I am asking for your help since you guys and gals always seem to know where to find this stuff.

I've been toying with the idea of swapping the hard drive out of my Acer Aspire 5740-5780 laptop with an Intel SSD 330 to improve performance. So I used Norton Ghost 15.0 to copy my data to my new Intel SSD. So after that was done I swapped hard drives, and booted up. My laptop was stuck at the Acer Splash Screen (F2 and F12) menu. I'm able to press either key, but it locks after that.

Then I read somewhere that I need to go through sysprep. So I swapped the original hard drive back in. After attempting sysprep, I get an error, Fatal Error...

Now as I'm typing I'm using my original Hard Drive just fine on my laptop. However, when I connect my Intel SSD via USB on my external enclosure - it is no longer detected in My Computer or Disk Management.

A:SSD no longer appears in Disk Management, or My Computer, no Activity

Have you tried restarting the computer with the SSD connected? Also, a clean install is recommended, although cloning the hard drive can be done, but much easier with Paragon migrate ( not free $19.95). it will transfer the complete OS and align the SSD at the same time. I was using my computer as usual and after I came back after eating, I saw a completely black screen. I turned my computer off and as it booted back up it blue screened, telling me there was a problem with memory management.
I turned it back off and fully depowered my motherboard, popped my ram in and out, just in case.
I turned it back on and nothing showed up on my monitor. My mouse and keyboard lit up and I got the regular system beeps. I plugged my HDMI cable into my motherboard with the same results. The cable works and the port on my monitor works as well.

If not, you may want to purchase one from a place that accepts returns (and gives you your money back) - in case you don't need it.

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/03/01/password_management_site_xss_bug/Password management site LastPass has plugged a security hole in its website that created a means to extract the email addresses - though not the passwords - of enrolled users. The cross-site scripting bug meant that logged-in users induced to visit a malicious site would disclose their email addresses and sites associated with a LastPass account, along with password reminders and a list of IP addresses used to access the site. The bug was discovered by independent security researcher Mike Cardwell, who was unable to exploit the flaw to extract passwords.LastPass - which boasts close to a million members - stores website login details in an encrypted container, safeguarded by a master password. Users log in to extract this information either directly via the website or by using a browser extension.

There is a good chance of an infection case here. www.trendmicro.com www.pandasoftware.com do the online scans. download webroot spysweeper. Also what you can try doing is to go internet options - advanced - set defaults. Did you change any security settings ? Add the site to the trusted zone via internet options - security tab.

Also can you check your add and remove programs to see if there is a black and very long entry there ? (thats caused by malware which would interfere with your browsing)

Good Luck

Hi is there a way to send an automatic email of a workbook on a certain date?

For example workbook 1 needs to be sent at the end of every month automatically when opened.

thanks

A:sending excel sheet via email autmatically

"the end of every month"

Is that the last day or the last working day? If the latter, define "working".

The Analysis Toolpak add-in (you'd have to check if you have it installed) has some useful additional functions, such as EOMONTH.

Today (20th March), the formula:

=NETWORKDAYS(TODAY(),EOMONTH(TODAY(),0))

returns 8. That probably means that there are 8 working days left this month, including today. Of course, this month is a bad example because of Easter; NETWORKDAYS' 3rd argument "Holidays" is something you'd have to plug in.

Some very basic "workbook open" code could check the value of such as formula and act accordingly (i.e. if formula result = 1, do x-y-z). You might also need to set a flag to handle the workbook being opened > once on the "last" day.

Beyond that (or maybe even instead of), Ron de Bruin has lots of snazzy SendMail stuff.

My computer is not automatically assigning a drive letter (path) for a new external hard drive device. (Manhattan Quantum Bigfoot USB device) Hoping to manually assign a letter I try to go into the Disk Management folder and manually do it. However each time I attempt to open the folder it crashes (resets) my computer. If the device is NOT hooked into the USB port the folder will then open with no problem. It only crashes when the USB device is connected. FYI: the hardware device page indicates that the device is working properly. It just has not been assigned a drive letter or path.

My OS is Windows 2000 Pro.

Thank you for any suggestions you might have.

This morning when I opened the lid it wouldn't wake up until I pressed the power button. I've tried changing all settings under the power options but nothing works. Something I've noticed is that with the four lights on the front of my laptop, previously the three blue lights would turn off while sleeping and the green charging light would stay on. Hey all.

I have a strange problem that started happening a few days ago (can not remember specifically when).
So basically no external program/app that contain links that should open a web browser, for instance when you right click your desktop, choose personalise then choose 'get more themes online'... nothing happens. In my email client, links no longer open a new tab in chrome (set as my default browser) etc.

I am sure this worked before, but cannot be certain.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to solve this irritating issue?

Thanks in advance.

A:Links no longer opening google chrome

Hi,
Can I assume that all of the usual things are correct? OS current, security program up to date and scan clean, rebooted at least twice during updates and scanning - just the normal things.
Thanks

My Office 2007 has been working fine until I tried to open and documents today. If I click on a document shortcut I get an error message, "There was a problem sending the command to the program" and the document won't open. If I open a blank Word page and use the menu to Open, I can locate the file and it opens just fine. I have many Word docs so I really need some help on this one. I have search the net and found some suggestions on changing the Word data registry file, but that did not work. Excel and other Office files open fine. Chuck

Nothing wrong with your browser or PC - I can't bring that website up either, Firefox just keeps saying "Waiting for majaa.net....."
All other websites load up just fine so it must be a problem at their end.

A:Outllook 2007 no longer opening on one user account

Open any office program, click the orb in the upper left corner, click whatever Options (ex: "Excel Options"), click "Resources", look for "run Micorsoft Office Diagnostics" and click Diagnose, when the "Is Micorsoft Office having problems" box appears click continue and it will run the repair and should fix your shortcuts as well.

Or... You could open Outlook, Help, click Office Dianostics..., and it will do the same thing.

Let us know what happens. Good luck.

Are they opening in another browser? Are you allowing enough time? I've seen it take up to a minute in Vista. To make sure there's no clutter, clear FF cache and Compact Folders in TBird. If no help, type about:config in the TBird Address Bar. Scroll to network.protocol-handler.external-default and make sure it's set to true.

Until recently, when my.yahoo opened on booting, it would open to my customized page. However, when I now boot up, my.yahoo needs my username and pw to open. I'm not sure why this is happening (could it be my use of CCleaner?), but would like to be able to have certain sites that have usernames and pw's to open automatically...can this be done?

A:Opening web site without having to enter password?

If you clean off the cookies that save your login then you will have to log in when you go to the site. Go in CCleaner and uncheck the Cookies option in the browser you use. That should save your login cookie info.

Another way if your browser supports LastPass is to use LastPass extension. It will fill in user name and password and then you just click Login button.

I use LastPass on Chromium, Firefox and Opera. Seems to work very well.

I am very confused. I have been trying to open this FTP site in a windows explorer window through IE8 as i have been able to in previous versions of IE but I'm not finding the option to. In other versions there was an option saying "Open FTP site in Windows Explorer" or something to that affect in one of the menus. Everything I have read online says that this option is under the "Page" button in IE8 but it is not there. I have attached a screen shot of what I have under the page button so you can verify that it is not there and I'm not just going crazy. Can anyone tell me how to do this through IE8?

First of all, thanks for this forum!!
I started having a weird problem yesterday where my computer will open a web page by itself every couple minutes and go to Microsoft.com  (exact page it goes to is http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx)  It will go to this page, and only this page.  I have run malwarebytes, spybot, kasperskytdsskiller, Adwcleaner, Junkware Removal Tool, CCleaner, Microsoft's Anti Virus and Malware Cleaners, superantispyware, and AVG all to no avail.  They say nothing is wrong.  But I still have my computer opening a webpage every couple minutes to Microsoft.com
Any and all help will be GREATLY appreciated!!

A couple of questions: are you very sure that is a Microsoft.com site? If so, is it more like: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=76277 or a variation (1st run), fix is a registry edit: http://www.geoffchappell.com/notes/windows/ie/firstrun.htm. Hope this might help.

I'm using Firefox. Recently, it seems that, almost, every time I open a search result I get a redirect to another search site, or just another site. For instance, I just did a search for "Fading of the Cries." One of the links was to Trailerspy. When I clicked on the link, it went to their site, very briefly, then I got a "redirect" and ended up at shopcompareus.com. Another link to trailerhut, redirected to juggle.com. What's up? Can I stop the redirects?

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.Download Link 1Download Link 2MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you. Temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
For instructions with screenshots, please refer to the How to use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Guide. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the definition updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen:Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.Exit MBAM when done.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

A:Firefox opening and loading adult site.

Hope this is not considered impatient, but it's been nearly a week since my initial post, so I thought I might just bump it up a bit. Oh yeah - and it seems to be quite a few sites that open their own pages - the one mentioned at the start of the post above in particular, as well as a few other adult sites and a Poker site as well.

Trying to decide who to use for my Medicare Drug Plan, I'm getting this error message from this site (SilverScript). The error (on Firefox 17) occurs after I enter a drug and click enter.

Would be most helpful if I can quickly get a fix on this as I need to make a decision before the end of the week.

Here's the error message:

Try another browser say, IE. Then if that worksand you sort your drug go back to FF and then try to solve this problem!

My external hard drive Elements WD recently stopped working after my computer Samsung Netbook N froze and restarted itself At first I drive and no delayed opening hard play longer External can files has could only see it in 'devices and printers' and not in 'computer' but after several attempts it then appeared in 'computer' as Local Disk E and not the usual 'Elements' and I wasn't able to view or External hard drive has delayed opening and can no longer play files open any files Now however it will appear as 'Elements' after a few minutes of External hard drive has delayed opening and can no longer play files being connected to my computer and I am able to view and open my files but none of the files music films play properly they freeze and stutter Every time I connect External hard drive has delayed opening and can no longer play files it to my computer again it goes through the same process of only appearing in 'devices' then after a few minutes appearing as 'Local disk E' and the eventually as 'Elements' I also eventually get the option to 'check disk options' but this just causes the computer to freeze with the 'Checking disk elements' window open I've tried plugging it into other computers and using a different connecting cable but I still get the same result Please help I've no idea where to go next with this problem Thanks in advance

A:External hard drive has delayed opening and can no longer play files

Hello Katy and welcome to Seven Forums.

The fact that you've tried plugging the external HD into other computers with a different cable leads me to believe something happened to the HD when the netbook froze and restarted. (Did you ever find out why the netbook froze?) Couple of things you can try. First, with the Elements plugged in, can you post a screen shot of Disk Management? This might give a clue as to how the Elements is being seen by Windows 7.

Disk Management Windows 7 - How To Access Disk Management in Windows 7

Also, with the Elements still plugged in, try opening Device Manager. A quick way is to type devmgmt.msc into RUN or the start menu search box and pressing enter. When Device Manager dialog box opens, click the + sign next to Disk Drives. That should show you the netbook drive and the Elements drive. Double click on the Elements drive and another dialog box with several tabs should open. The General tab should indicate if the Elements is working properly. If it's not try using the Troubleshooting button. Please post back what you find out.

If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications. On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.

Hi, I hope this is the right place to post this question.

I've just installed a new voip router alongside my broadband router and it all worked fine.

Sadly I can't log on to "My Ebay" page and a couple of other sites which I log into, I can access the home pages it's just the log in sections I can't access.

I've tried deleting my cookies in the Internet Options area, but I still can't log in, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do next or what the problem might be?

any help would be really appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Do you use a firewall, you have to allow them there too. Also the cookies you need to allow are called session cookies.

Hi,

For the last few days my PC has been loosing the cookie for my ISPs homepage when re-starting or coming out of hibernation. This happens with both IE8 and Firefox. I have contacted Trend Micro support but so far none of their solutions have been effective. They have also analysed a Hijackthis log and concluded there was nothing sinister going on.

This only happens to the Optus (my ISP) cookie, but Optus are denying any problems.

I have originally posted in the XP Support forum, but one of your folks suggeted I post here.

Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

Rob.

A:Cookie Problem

Hello -

I hate to give you a runaround, but I have my doubts about a cookie issue like that being malware related. I would ask back in Windows section, or in Internet Explorer subforum.

That said, you would need to post logs as indicated in the link provided by Speedster if you want help in this section of the forum. We work from logs as well as issue description.

HijackThis is woefully inadequate for many of today's infections. We don't use it as our initial analysis tool.

We want all our members to perform the steps outlined in the link I'll give you below, before posting for assistance. There's a sticky at the top of this forum, and a
Quote:

Having problems with spyware and pop-ups? First Steps

link at the top of each page.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please follow our pre-posting process outlined here:

http://www.techsupportforum.com/f50/...lp-305963.html

After running through all the steps, you shall have a proper set of logs. Please post them in a new topic, as this one shall be closed. I currently have as many open topics as I can effectively handle; this will have you back in queue with the proper logs so an available helper would be able to assist.

If you have trouble with one of the steps, simply move on to the next one, and make note of it in your reply.

Please note that the Virus/Trojan/Spyware Help forum is extremely busy, and it may take a while to receive a reply.

All the browsers are set to accept cookies, i have checked this on PC's experiencing this problem.

So even though the PC's browsers are accepting cookies, websites dont seem to think they are.. any ideas??

thanks,
Alistair

Hello,

i have problem with cookies. Every time i try to sign in Ebay or Gmail, i receive message : "Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it , on." . Ofcorse, my cookies were already turned on, but anyway i got this message. I tried with IE, Mozzila, Chrome, and with all browsers i got same problem. I google it may times, i tried million things, but nothing solves this problem. So i assume that problem is not with browsers, problem may be with WIN XP, i don't know, so i ask you for help, this thing makes me crazy.

Thanks... cheers...

Gentlemen,

My computer is proteced by -

Norton System Works 2005 Premier.
Ad-Aware SE Personal.
Spybot S & D.
Spyware Blaster.
Spyware Guard.
a2scan.
Kerio Personal Firewall.
MS Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool.
TDS-3.

The programmes are updated and used every day.

I also use CleanUp which shows a list of protected cookies. There is a cookie which is not shown in my Norton System Works list of protected cookies.

It is -

go.microsoft.com/serviceswirchung

I have been into Google via IE and Mozilla Firefox and neither search has recognised this cookie. There is no information about it.

Should I delete go.microsoft.com/serviceswirchung ?

oldsoldier

A:A cookie problem

When I searched for only the first part, go.microsoft.com, I was taken to this http://search.microsoft.com/search/search....st=b&View=en-us.Which is the search page for Microsoft. Have you visited it lately? I do not know what the last part (serviceswirchung) means. While on the MS search page, I searched for the text using a few variations. Came up empty.

Hi and welcome. Please don't start another thread for the same problem.

Reply back to this post to bring it to the top again. A better place to have posted it would have been web and email, and I'll move it when I'm through closing this one.

I've been having this time for quite some time I.e Problem? 7) 2.0 & Cookie Firefox (ms with both of the browers I mainly use Firefox though It's just this little but absolutely annoying problem that occur on many sites like here for example On many sites where I've got an account to a forum when I log in everything's ok But when I click for example a thread link or something I'm suddenly logged out This usually occurs after one or two clicks So I have to keep logging Cookie Problem? (ms Firefox 2.0 & I.e 7) accepting the option quot Remember Me quot but still that hasn't been totally able to make the problem Cookie Problem? (ms Firefox 2.0 & I.e 7) go away It helps though not to need login all over again just go quot back quot and click it again Then again other sites it hasn't helped This mostly for different kind of PHP forums Then for my Yahoo Mail account I occasionally get a quot Cookie expired quot error again even if I had just logged in It helps though just to click quot Back quot again But then when I try to login to my hotmail account I dunno what's up with it but I've got more chance to win in the lottery than to get to see the mail there on this PC I write my login amp pass click OK but what I'm most of the time back in the login page It still sometimes takes me to the mail but when I try to open my inbox I get the same all over again back in the login page I've checked my cookie settings for both browsers more than once and they should be all OK I've scanned my PC with several online virus scanners plus a few anti-spyware programs So far with all the stuff found and deleted the problem hasn't still gone away so I'm beginning to wonder that what the hell is the problem I've even reinstalled both browsers couple times with no avail I'm really running out clues here Edit I've also tried manually deleting all cookie files I can find on my system emptying my temp folders Here's my HijackThis log Logfile of HijackThis v Scan saved at on Platform Windows XP SP WinNT MSIE Internet Explorer v Running processes C WINDOWS System smss exeC WINDOWS system csrss exeC WINDOWS system winlogon exeC WINDOWS system services exeC WINDOWS system lsass exeC WINDOWS system Ati evxx exeC WINDOWS system svchost exeC WINDOWS system svchost exeC WINDOWS System svchost exeC WINDOWS System svchost exeC WINDOWS System svchost exeC WINDOWS system spoolsv exeC Program Files Common Files EPSON EBAPI SAgent exeC Program Files Ahead InCD InCDsrv exeC Norman Npf BIN NPFSVICE EXEC Norman bin ZANDA EXEC WINDOWS System svchost exeC WINDOWS system wdfmgr exeC Norman bin NJEEVES EXEC NORMAN Nvc BIN nvcoas exeC NORMAN Nvc BIN nipsvc exeC NORMAN Nvc BIN NVCSCHED EXEC WINDOWS System alg exeC WINDOWS system Ati evxx exeC WINDOWS Explorer EXEC Norman bin ZLH EXEC Program Files Ahead InCD InCD exeC Norman Nvc BIN NIP EXEC Norman Nvc bin cclaw exeC Norman Npf BIN npfmsg exeC WINDOWS system ctfmon exeC Program Files Spybot - Search amp Destroy TeaTimer exeC WINDOWS explorer exeC PROGRA REGRES REGRES EXEC Program Files Mozilla Firefox firefox exeC Norman bin niu exeC Program Files Trend Micro Tmas Tmas exeC PROGRA WINZIP winzip exeC Documents and Settings Disc Local Settings Temp HijackThis exeR - HKCU Software Microsoft Internet Explorer Main Start Page http www soneraplaza fi R - HKLM Software Microsoft Internet Explorer Main Default Page URL http go microsoft com fwlink LinkId R - HKCU Software Microsoft Internet Explorer Main Window Title Microsoft Internet Explorer - toimittaja Sonera Plaza OyR - HKCU Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Internet Settings ProxyServer proxy inet fi R - HKCU Software Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Internet Settings ProxyOverride fi fi fiR - HKCU Software Microsoft Internet Exp... Does it work with all your settings set to default?
You may have to turn the cookies security to OFF, Ive noticed trouble similar to what you've explained, and I just turned it off, (set to accept all cookies) then I just empty the temp folder after each session.

How do I modify my Vista settings so that it does not erase cookies that I wish to maintain? currently it is maintaining a few but removing some that I wish to maintain.

I'm not sure what's going on with my computer, but my cookies will not save to my computer anymore. Everytime I shut off my computer, the disappear and that didn't usually happen until recently when I ran my Norton Antivirus, but it may be some other problem that I'm not sure of. I checked my internet options, but I'm just not sure what's the problem or what's wrong.

Can someone help me?

hi
Several websites I visit daily are not saving my information.
I use Firefox 3 and Vista Premiun with SP1
This problem just recently, and I have uninstalled all recent downloaded programs, and cleaned the registry.
In the browser, it states that I will accept all cookies, and there are no exceptions checked
One of my regular sites emailed me that perhaps my cookies are being washed by some program that has a cookie washer in it
May I kindly ask how can I find this 'cookie washer'?
and, do you think that that may be the problem
thanks

Does anyone have any suggestions, please?

Rob.

Hi, everybody. I've recently been working on a website that requires I have a certain cookie on the browser in order for me to go to one of it's important pages. I think I accidentally deleted this cookie, and I need to know what to do to get the cookie back on.

Thank you.

I had some help recently from bleeping regarding a problem getting into my hot mail account on live.com, whilst using my new vista with IE7.
Someone there told me to go into privacy in internet options and choose Medium on the slider - then to add the live.com to the Sites button, then go back into Advanced and select 'Overide Automatic Cookie Handling' and make sure First and Third party cookies are highlighted.
I did all that and it worked!
However following day it was the same. I do have Privacy Keeper installed which removes traces including cookies - would this be the problem. If this is disabled though, wont i be open to cookies?

Or is there another explanation?

A:Cookie Problem With Hot Mail

If another application removes cookies regularly, changing your browser settings to accept certain ones will not have the results you want. You may be able to "protect" certain cookies if Privacy Keeper has such an option.

I am using NAV and I'm not able to remove some tracking cookies. When I select "fix", it shows me that the problems were fixed, but if I re-run NAV, they're still present. I have tried turning off system restore and running NAV, but the results are the same. The cookies are: atmdt, realmedia, questionmarket, doubleclick, and one un-named cookie. I realize that these probably aren't too much of a risk, but they're a nuisance and I would like to get them removed

Some of those can be associated by sideline ads on some sites. Let's do this...Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune & save it to your desktop. alternate download link DO NOT use yet. Please download and install SUPERAntiSpyware FreeDouble-click SUPERAntiSypware.exe and use the default settings for installation. An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program. If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes". If not, update the
definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates". (If you encounter
any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from
here and
unzip into the program's folder.)Under the "Configuration and Preferences", click the Preferences... button.Click the "General and Startup" tab, and under
Start-up Options, make sure "Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts" box is unchecked.Click the "Scanning Control" tab, and under Scanner
Options, make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):Close browsers before scanning.Scan for tracking cookies.Terminate memory threats before quarantining.Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program.Do not run a scan just yet.Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.Under Main "Select Files to Delete" choose:

A:browser hijacker keeps opening popups when I click on legit site links

Update:
I seemed to have fixed the issue (for now at least). I did an uninstall on the suspect software "DNS Loader" using CCleaner - as no install/uninstall folder could be located via the normal means of clicking the start button or Windows key. I tried this several times before but the software kept reappearing. I ended up going in to my Chrome Browser settings, clicking on Show Advanced Settings at the bottom, and all the way at the bottom of the page, scroll down and click on the reset settings feature. This will sign you out of many things and reset a few things to default state, but so far so good, I click on legit site links that previously were popping up with ads every-time and now it's stopped. Hopefully this is a fix. Will update if not. Still open to other suggestions in case I missed anything of course.

Hello 49 M and welcome to Seven Forums.

Have you tried deleting your browser cache and using disk cleanup to delete your temp files?

The cumulative security update for W7 (x64 pro) has been causing me real problems and I couldn't figure out what was happening at first.

All my cookie and login info after performing a browser cleanup isn't now remembered. I can for example enter my details for this site and as soon as I exit IE and log back in all cookie info is gone.

Normally I do a clean up and then import a cookie file with details of perhaps 20 sites on it. This doesn't now work.

Uninstall that update and all is back as it should be.

I have recovered to an Acronis image and currently have installed all updates minus this one.

Anyone else had this issue ?

A:Latest W7 IE9 update seems to cause cookie problem.

I update the same way on my another Windows 7 64bit system.
Everything works fine.
Check to find whether there is any option item been selected after the update.
It's not serious.

Why do I have a cookie problem only when trying to log on to eBay? It keeps telling me that "this computer is not accepting cookies". This is the only site that does this. If I change my password and then try to log on - it accepts it! Are there any settings that I can change to solve this?

Please download CCleaner (freeware) from here.
Run the installer, and uncheck the option to install Yahoo toolbar (unless you want Yahoo toolbar).
Once installed, run CCleaner.

The following should be selected by default, if not, please select:

Then please click and choose

Please uncheck

Then go back to and click to run it.

If presented with an option to install 3rd party software, deny it.

Okay, now that ive got my find4u problem fixed, its time to fix the two other things...
1) My cookies...i can't set them so that well i dunno...but if i go somewhere that needs cookies, it always tells me to enable cookies...but ive tried like every setting and they just wont "enable" ive even emailed my internet provider a few times, with no luck....they even sent me a few patches, but they were for windows 98.....so no go there..does anyone know what i can do for this?

2) My favorites has some inapropriate links in it, for example "Free Hidden Cams World" "Free Spy Cam" "Free Web Cams Chats" "Get this 4 free" and "Hidden Cams World"
even if i delete them, they just come back...any one know what thats about? some sort of virus or something???

thanks for any info

A:Cookie problem, and Favorites problem

Favorites button - click organise - highlight unwanted, then use delete button, this should stop them coming back..

Try Tools - Internet Options - Privacy tab - set cookies to medium setting.
