First problem with IE9 - no search provider

Q: First problem with IE9 - no search provider

I seem to have no search provider in my brand new IE9. So I consult the help page on how to get one, and it says that:

Quote:
Click the Show Address bar Autocomplete button, and then click Add in the lower right corner for the Address bar.

In the Add-ons Gallery, choose a search provider, and then click Add to Internet Explorer.

In the Add Search Provider dialog box, you can do one or more of the following .... etc.

Unfortunately there is absolutely no Show Address bar Autocomplete button to be seen anywhere. So I am already stuck at the first step. Any ideas?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

After opening a new tab go to the address bar and type in a partial word, or full word and the window will open that allows you to "Add." In my case, Google and Bing's icons are already there.

Maybe I'll get used to it, but so far I liked the Search in IE8 better.

Every time I start Internet Explorer 8, I get the following message: "A program on your computer has corrupted your Internet Explorer Search Provider default setting. Internet Explorer has reset this setting to search.live.com. Internet Explorer will now open the Search Provider settings so that you can change this setting." It opens the Manage Add-ons dialog box and I enable Live search and check the "Prevent programs from suggesting sites" check box. However, when I go back into IE, the same message pops up and I have to go back and close the dialog. I tried resetting Internet Explorer settings, but that didn't have any effect. I also tried to download a fresh copy of Internet Explorer and that didn't help either. It doesn't say what program corrupted the search provider settings. What should i do to solve this problem. I am using Windows XP with Service pack 3. Thank you.

Hi,

I can't seem to remove Baidu search from the list of search providers in the IE8 search box. After removing it, it comes back when I restart IE8.

In addition, I get the popup with "A program on your computer has suggested a new default search provider for Internet Explorer" (Baidu) a few second after starting IE8.

I also noticed that typing a random string into the URL box brings up a Baidu auto-search, even if auto-search is disabled. (Internet Options->Advanced->"do not submit unknown searches to your auto-search provider" is set).

MalwareBytes v1.46 does not find anything.

Thanks,
ty_z

Have you scanned your comp for malware? If not, suggest you do that with one of the programs in links below.http://www.superantispyware.com/http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.phpCheck in your browser addons for listings such as Ask Toolbar. Without knowing what program is attempting to change your search settings is a problem. Have you checked the settings for your preferred search engine? If not, do that. Remove all othersif you can.

This problem seems to have been experienced by many but the fixes suggested so far don't work for me I'm on Vista SP Every time IE is opened it comes up with an error message saying that some application has corrupted the setting for the choice of default search provider amp that it will override this with the previous default in my case Yahoo It then offers you the Manage Search Providers utility but Search Error IE8 Provider that IE8 Search Provider Error won't actually let you change the settings I've tried the AppData registry fix suggested in a few places including IE8 Search Provider Error this forum but to no avail The SearchScopes folder within the IE section on the registry holds the details for the search providers Having now fiddled about extensively with the registry changing the content of the SearchScopes folders within both HKCU and HKLM and then looking at the results I m finding that there must be some other key that is causing the corrupt default problem I don t think that the details within the SearchScopes folders are the problem because it doesn t seem to matter what they are If both the folders are empty the warning doesn't appear but you go straight into Manage Search Providers anyway You can then add a provider but not as a default If only the HKLM folder is empty then the warning still appears - the HKCU entry is shown as the default in Manage Search Providers but that doesn't seem to matter in terms of the error Any clues

My OPS is windows 7. Each time I log on to the internet a pop up box says...IE search provider default. A program on your computer has corrupted your search provider setting for Internet Explorer default.
Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider ( search.conduit.com ) Internet Explorer will now open Search Settings, where you can change this setting or install more search providers.
I click OK and then another box pops up and I'm unable to change anything. I click close and it goes away until the next time I log on and there it goes again!
Can someone tell me in plain language how to get rid of this pest? Thanks in advance for your help.

Anyone else noticed that IE10 doesn't allow Google to be installed as a Search Provider (despite it being arguably the world's most well-used search engine)? The list, part of which is shown below, is in alphabetical order and, as you can see, Google is not mentioned. I should point out that this list does take a while to populate, and does, on occasions, come up with a Service not available error.

Microsoft goes out of their way to deliberately and intentionally alienate and furstte users ( way d'go Microsoft) by not acknowleging Google as a search provider. What a despicable practice.

There is no direct.intutive way to add a Google as Search prvivder. But I know it can be done and I did stumble on some hit and miss approaches for my other machine.

But I am tired of this nonsence. How does one make Google the default serach provider??

Problem is when I go to Internet Explorer Gallery Add-ons there are a whole bunch of useless search providers for example tesco.com ? if I horizontally scroll across the screen to the far right I can find the Google accelerator in among the browsers beginning with S & install that & have the option to make this the default for this accelerator category which is not the search one ?
How are you supposed to use this Google search accelerator I haven't a clue ?
I'm sure there used to be a Google Search in the Gallery add ons.
Hate that horizontally scrolling in the gallery add ons its hard to control the speed making it hard to find the one you want, maybe its by design & they hope you become frustrated & just keep the Bing default.

I'm running Windows XP and everything seems fine until I try to use IE8's built in search. The results take me to various sites some of which infect me with fake antivirus garbage which I'm able to remove with Malwarebytes but the problem of the hijacked search results remains. It doesn't make a difference if I set the provider to Bing or Google. The latest log from Malwarebytes shows no malicious items. Thanks in advance you guys are fantastic.

Hello let's run these and see if we get an MBAM log.FixExe.reg FixExe.reg Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Download Link From another computer, please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, or MBAM, and the reg files from the following locations and save it to an external media such as an external hard drive or a USB flash drive. We will then use the external drive or flash drive to to transfer these files to your infected computer.Once you have downloaded all the necessary files to a removable device, you need to plug it into your infected your computer so it can access them. Now open the drive that corresponds to the removable media that you copied the programs onto. Once open, double-click on the FixExe.reg file. When Windows prompts whether or not you want to allow the data to be added to your computer, click on the Yes button. Now you should be able to run the mbam-setup.exe file that you saved on your removable media. Double-click on this file to install MalwareBytes' on to your computer. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure you leave both the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware checked. Then click on the Finish button. If you already have MalwareBytes' installed, simply launch it now and continue.MBAM will now automatically start and you will see a message stating that you should update the program before performing a scan. As MBAM will automatically update itself after the install, you can press the OK button to close that box. When the scan is finished, a message box will say The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects foundClick OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen:
Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Hi,

I'm trying to use Google as the default search provider for IE9. I know I used to be able to do this but they have changed the website where you select them and Google is no longer listed.

The website I checked was: Internet Explorer Gallery

Does anyone know where I can download the Google search provider for Internet Explorer 9?

Thanks in advance,
Caleb

Getting rather annoyed with the .com search results instead of co.uk.

There doesn't appear to be an add-on in iegallery.com

Anyone know how to change it?

Using IE8. Every time I click on the icon to open, I get a popup that says that a program on my computer has suggested a new default search provider for Internet Explorer. The choices are change to Google (indicating this is a new setting suggested by the program) or keep using Bing (saying this is my current setting). No matter what choice I make, as soon as I click on it, IE8 closes.

I'm currently using my laptop as I don't know how to access the internet any other way except through IE8 (mozilla is not downloaded).

I'm desperate for help since I use my PC for work. I'm guessing perhaps there is a virus causing the problem so don't want to spread a virus through work.

A:INTERNET EXPLORER 8 SEARCH PROVIDER CHANGED

Hi Kowski55. Welcome to BC! You've come to the right place. Just be patient because the pro's here are all volunteer and, being one of the best sources on the web for help, they're constantly swamped. But, I promise you it is worth the wait.In the mean time, maybe this will help better define your problem. I'm guessing your error message looks like this:The default search provider mentioned in the error message could also be "Bing". In either case, the search provider mentioned will be from our wonderfully arrogant big brother, Microsoft. Just another attempt at forcing us to use their bloated, sluggish products. Then, when you click on the "OK" button (or the red "X" in an attempt to ignore it), you get this next box:With this screen you have the option of adding more search providers, such as Google, and setting them as your default search provider. If you've tried this, you have already found that the next time you open IE, you get to go back through the same exercise in futility and the default selection you made has been ignored. You'll also notice on this screen that you can delete any search provider in the list EXCEPT the Microsoft search provider (Bing or Live Search). If you do a Google search for this error, such as "corrupted default search provider settings", you will find thousands of places to get instructions on how to correct the issue. But BEWARE!! Most of the suggestions involve editing your computer's registry. And, just in case you are not familiar with the registry, it is not a place for the inexperienced to venture without detailed guidance. You can easily render your computer completely unresponsive and inoperable. However, with the guidance of one of the pro's here, you can get through it with ease. If you do have some experience with the registry, you might try some of the advice found with a Google search. Just be careful.Oh yeah, you'll also find the suggestion of resetting IE by going through the control panel. I haven't found anyone that had success with this, though. The most maddening part of the error you, and the rest of us, are facing is that Microsoft has known about this error for several years. I've found postings dating back to 2007 and, if I'm not mistaken, even 2006. It would seem to me, since Microsoft cares soooo much about it's customers , it would have issued a patch by now. But all I've found are some convoluted edits you have to make to your registry posted on some of their user forums (and I do thank those users for taking the time to offer their assistance). I can find absolutely nothing about the error on Microsoft.com. It's as if the error didn't exist when you search their site. I guess, for them it doesn't. It's not their search engines that are being denied. I wish I had better news but, I've been facing this myself for a while. I hate editing my registry but that is where I'm headed when I finish this post. I hope someone here has an easier fix for you.One last thought. Download Firefox, make it your default browser and KILL IE! Firefox works better than IE anyway!Good Luck!StartingOver

A:Solved: pyagcore.search.provider NULL

i have a kiwi toolbar on my computer and i think its the cause of the pyagcore search message and the messenge and internet explorer being rendered useless. i am no expert in computing and i cannot get rid of the kiwi in usual add/remove programe however i have gained control of the computer and can access the internet again.
the steps i took to get rid of the message and enable internet explorer where:
in start menu right click and scroll to internet properties and click.
in the programs menu click on the manage add-ons and scroll down the list to the kiwi tool bar add-ons click to highlight and highlight the disable icon under the list when the kiwi shows disabled also look for the AGsearchhook class and disable this as well exit the menu and go to the advanced section click the reset icon ( this will enable the defaults to get the internet explorer working again). this will reset all defaults and browser history however i found without do so could not get on the internet.
restart the computer and in add/remove programs in control panel uninstall the messenger. restart the compter again. it should now connect to the internet and untill the kiwi can be removed a alternative such as skype or facebook chats can replace the messenger.
All these steps have to be repeated in all the computer accounts for other users to access the internet.
i tried to re-install the messenger and the message came back on. sorry i cannot help with completely getting rid of the kiwi but im just glad to be back on the internet at the moment.

Whenever we go to IE, the above error message shows up, and in the error box is:

A program on your computer has corrupted your default search provider setting for Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has reset this setting to your original search provider, Bing (www.bing.com). Internet Explorer will now open Search Settings, where you can change this setting or install more search providers.

I click OK and it takes me to the "Manage Search Providers". I've tried different things - adding a different search provider, enable, disable, set as default - nothing changes, I continue to get the same error message the next time I open IE.

The error message says "A program on your computer has corrupted..." What program could that be, and what can I do to correct the situation?

We have Windows XP.

XP or other Windows versions that are not In particular there are many about adding certain keys into the Registry but they already exist in either identically or with the same name but IE8 default search provider corrupted. 7 Home Premium. slightly different data So it s NOT those keys or lack thereof causing this error message and the impossibility of changing or deleting the default search provider in IE on Windows So does anyone have a cure for this that s specific to Windows I ve looked on many other forums and people keep replying with useless fixes for XP or they mention using things like Group Policy Editor that might work if only the Home versions of Windows had that available I have a client with Home Premium having this problem It s not happy making not a bit nbsp

the tool will open and start scanning your system
please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications
on completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open
post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
press Scan button
it will produce a log called Frst.txt in the same directory the tool is run from
please copy and paste log back here.
the first time the tool is run it generates another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also paste that along with the Frst.txt into your reply.

Greetings and Welcome to The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the Watch Topic Button, select Immediate Notification, and click on Proceed. This will send you an e-mail as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing us to resolve the issue faster. NOTE: Backup any files that cannot be replaced. Removing malware can be unpredictable and this step can save a lot of hartaches if things don't go as planed. You can put them on a CD/DVD, external drive or a pen drive, anywhere except on the computer. NOTE: It is good practice to copy and paste the instructions into notepad and print them in case it is necessary for you to go offline during the cleanup process. To open notepad, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. Please remember to copy the entire post so you do not miss any instructions. The next thing I would like you to do is run this for me - http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/unhide.exe after it is complete restart the computer and continue with these stepsSecurity CheckDownload Security Check by screen317 from here.Save it to your Desktop.Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.Download and run OTLDownload OTL by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.Double click on OTL.exe to run it.Under Output, ensure that Minimal Output is selected.Under Extra Registry section, select Use SafeList.Click the Scan All Users checkbox.Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

Hi there,

I think the title is self-explanatory. I have installed the Google search provider from the official Google webpage (Make Google your Default Search Engine) on IE 8 and noticed that it does not suggest as I type. I opened "Manage Search Providers" and see "Not Available" besides "Search suggestions".

Any help on this?

Thanks!

A:Cannot enable "Search suggestions" in "Google Search Provider"

At the bottom of the Manage Add-Ons page you will see, "Learn more about search engine preferences" click on that.

Scroll down to, and click on "To turn search suggestions on or off" it will lay it out for you there.

Post back if you need more clarification.

I have tried many things to fix this problem but my internet connection does not work. It says I have a problem with the winsock catalog provider. The Internet connection says there is little or no connectivity. I ran combofix and as it started to run it said I had a zeroaccess rootkit infection. It shut down and rebooted and created log file. I am on another computer posting this. Had tech guy here and did set manual ip etc. Could not fix it. I have attached the combofix logs. the repair for the internet connection says it cannot repair it because the following could not be completed: "Renewing your IP address".

I ran malwarebytes and AVG and it shows no infections but the internet doesn't let me log on.

A:Solved: Winsock Provider Catalogue problem

It certainly sounds as if there is a problem with a a firewall or other security software since it works in safe mode. Try disableing all the start up items in msconfig and see if the issue goes away. If this does fix your issue then enable them one by one untill the problem returns.

Hello, DarMol. to BleepingComputer.comMy name is Billy O'Neal and I will be helping you. (Billy or Bill is fine, if you like.)I want to apologise that it has taken so long to get back to you. Please continue to check this forum post in order to ensure we get your system completely clean. We do not want to clean you part-way up, only to have the system re-infect itself. If you do not understand any step(s) provided, please do not hesitate to ask before continuing. If for any reason you cannot complete instructions within that time, that's fine, just put a post here so that I know you're still here. We get a lot of people who simply leave, and if there is no contact for that amount of time I will have to assume you have "vanished" .Billy3

Hello all.
One of my Clients is running a Dell Dimension E520 with Windows XP SP3.

Recently, he lost his network connection, and gets the "Windows has detected a problem with the Winsock provider catalog on this computer" message when he runs the network diagnostic tool for XP.

Some things I've tried already:

1. Reboot. (duh)

2. Moved the machine from DHCP to Static - No dice

3. Tried the command line reset that I've found online:

netsh int ip reset
netsh winsock reset

- No dice

4. Downloaded LSPFix, but haven't run it because I don't really know what I'm trying to remove there. Am doing a bit more research on that.

5. Run a Malware scan, didn't help
The machine cannot ping any addresses, and the "Limited or no Connectivity" on the connection hasn't changed no matter what I've done.

Suggestions please? Thank you!

Hi Ffish,Welcome to BC HijackThis forum. I am farbar. I am going to assist you with your problem. Please refrain from making any changes to your system (scanning or running other tools, updating Windows, installing applications, removing files, etc.) from now on as it might interfere with our fixes. Please let me know in your next reply if you agree with this.Open your Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware.First update it, to do that under the Update tab press "Check for Updates".Under Scanner tab select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy&Paste the MBAM log.Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Please run Notepad (start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad) and copy and paste the text in the code box into a new file:
Reg delete "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings" /v ProxyEnable /f
proxycfg -d
Go to the File menu at the top of the Notepad and select Save as.Select Save in: desktopFill in File name: dirlook.batSave as type: All file types (*.*)Click save.Close the Notepad.Locate and double-click dirlook.bat on the desktop.A window flashes. It is normal. Now open Internet Explorer and check the connection. Reboot and check the internet connection once more and tell me what you get both times.

Hi, After having slow internet problems, I ran a scan using AVG and it reported no problems.
After a Reboot, I attempted to connect to the internet and was given a Windows Internet Explorer window With a message saying:
A program has suggested a new default search provider for Internet Explorer
With 2 Options:

1.Change to ZoneAlarm Security (Customiz...(search.conduit.com)
This is the new setting suggested by the programme

2.Keep using search the web (search.imgag.com)
This is the current setting

Do I want either of these options? I dont think I do, but there the only ones available. I dare not click anything in case Its Pandora's box. Can Anyone advise me Please?
Windows XP Prof
Service pack 2
AVG Security (free)
Zone Alarm
I hope thats enough info, and Thanks in advance

hi there!

you have nothing to worry about. from what you've shared, it looks like you've installed CheckPoint's ZoneAlarm Free Firewall Community Toolbar. This Community Toolbar is powered by Conduit, and you're now facing install questions.

Some background: Conduit is an app network, powering apps and community toolbars for more than 260,000 publishers and their 200 million users.
More about CheckPoint and Conduit's partnership: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Conduit-Helps-Power-Browser-bw-3939265249.html?x=0&.v=1

You can opt to use either of those searches, and you can always go back and change your search prefs:
in IE: click the dropdown arrow near the mag. glass in the FAR RIGHT top corner > select "Manage Search Providers"
in FF: the same option is in the same dropdown (on the right side of the search box on the far right top corner of the screen)
good luck!

A:windows xp search problem... i can only see the dog.. no search bars or options

Hello vileclown

Open Explorer and go to the Windows\Inf folder.
Locate the srchasst.inf file. Right click it and select Install.
You'll need your XP CD or the files from the I386 folder.

The Windows\Inf folder is a hidden folder. You can adjust your Explorer Folder Options (View tab) to Show hidden files and folders.
Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View
Check ?Show hidden Files?
Uncheck ?Hide protected system files?
Apply

You can also click Start, Run and enter %SystemRoot%\Inf to open directly to the Inf folder.

Hello If none of you are aware of what ads by provider is it's supposed to be this annoying malware that opens up random pop-up ads in your browser and somehow adds fake advertisement links to any texts on any webpages But in my case it also significantly reduces my internet speed and somehow keeps coming back It also hides somehow away by go "Ads Provider" won't I've searched all over the web for any ways to remove it I tried using Malwarebytes "Ads by Provider" won't go away ADWCleaner and a few other programs and they always seem to delete the thing but it always comes back And in no time too "Ads by Provider" won't go away As of right now this virus somehow finds its way back into my system every couple of days I said it hides and what I mean is that in every removal guide I've seen so far there seems to be a program associated with this virus that can be found via Control Panel It could be called just Provider or it could be something different but basically it's supposed to be an unwanted program that we never installed on our computer Well I've checked a number of times via Control Panel and CCleaner and there is NOTHING there All the software I have ever installed on my pc was installed by me and it's all legit I operate on windows I use ZoneAlarm security software with its built-in firewall and I'm starting to reconsider since it never seems to notice that anything's "Ads by Provider" won't go away wrong I don't download shady programs off of shady sites I don't torrent much I clean scan and defrag my computer regularly I also use Adblocker Ghostery and I'm smart enough not to click ads on the web saying PLEASE CLICK HERE U R WINNER or anything like that Funny thing is I also have an old netbook with Windows XP that I use in quite the same way also with ZoneAlarm AdBlocker I scan and defrag it also on a regular basis And nothing ever touches it It's old and slow sure but no viruses or malware ever pops up on it So my question is how does this thing keep coming back to my PC I know it probably wasn't ever completely removed or something and how do I get rid of it for good Do I just have to format the drives and get a new OS or is there any other way Please PLEASE someone help me because I am so sick of this thing EDIT now downloading Spybot I'm going to give it a try and see if it finds anything

Hi,

I was wondering, as the title says, can your VPN provider spy on you?

I've just started using a paid VPN service, and I've been wondering if the person behind the service can see exactly what I'm doing.

What's the most he can get? traffic data only or passwords as well? something else maybe?

Your help is much appreciated

A:Can your VPN provider spy on you?

Yes. You're terminating your encrypted tunnel to their servers/appliances. Whether the provider actually does it, is going to be the question. This is one of the reasons why I have always advocated setting up a VPN infrastructure yourself that you own and control.

To mitigate some security and privacy issues, you'll have to run everything encrypted within the tunnel. Meaning any web access should be over SSL. Any terminal access should be over SSH. Any FTP sessions should be over SFTP. This adds additional overhead and may not be practical in some circumstances.

Hey all I recently noticed that when browsing the internet with Google Chrome on my laptop any page I view is riddled with adverts with the tag quot Ads Ads Provider By By Provider quot in the bottom right corner I know this is Adware and I have searched far and wide for some kind of solution but to no avail I have found a few pages listing ways to get rid of this Adware but they all either Ads By Provider don't work or cannot be done The methods I have found and or tried are looking for an extension in chrome causing the ads and deleting disabling it looking for a program on the computer that is Ads By Provider causing the ads and uninstalling it and running anti-virus and anti-malware software to search for the Adware and delete it There Ads By Provider is no extension in chrome no program to be found in the quot uninstall a program quot list and neither Avast or Malwarebytes found anything on the computer at all I am completely lost at this point and have no idea what else I can try Even now when i'm here browsing the forums the top and right-side of the page have the ads as well as certain words being highlighted in any text on the site which upon hovering over a pop-over will show up displaying an ad that it wants me to click I will greatly appreciate any words of wisdom to help me rid my laptop of this plague Thanks in advance Ausaris

Look through your Programs & Features list to see if there are any programs that you don't recognize installed on your system.

Also, try running AdwCleaner from here: AdwCleaner Download

I use centurylink but we experience lots of down-time because they are constantly "updating servers" and we are thinking about switching services. We hear verison is crap but we are considering dish. Any thoughts about what we could switch to?(I live in a rural environment-non city)
ps: I use the internet mostly for downloading and gaming(family uses it mostly for facebook, used by multiple devices at once).

A:Which internet provider is best

I have FiOS. I love the cable and phone, but the wireless and internet is garbage. I wish I stayed with Cablevision, but the DVR/cable stinks.

Attached are the scans by FRST. Apparently there were two copies of each scan so I uploaded them all.

What email provider do you use and why?

I currently use FastMail. I've had email accounts with Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook/Hotmail and Mail.com in the past.

A:What email provider do you use?

I'm using Yahoo Mail, Gmail and ProtonMail. Yahoo Mail is still my main email provider (for almost a decade) although I'm drowning in spam.

Hi,
I live in a city in Australia that doesn't have the greatest internet speeds, (3.8mbps down) and I have called up my isp to see if they can increase that somehow, which they can't. I just want to know if I switch to Telstra or something if I would get higher speeds, or do they both use the same wiring and architecture.
Thanks

A:Better Wifi With New Provider?

Not sure mate....as I'm in the states. What you can do is research available ISP providers in your area and see what is being offered.....speeds vs cost. If you find something with better speed offers at a comparable price point and it's worth it for you, then make the switch.

Hi,

I want to use the IPTV technology to transmit some channels. Therefore I consider to become full service provider. For my purpose I see possibilities in the market.

However I am not computer engineer, so, it is quite difficult to make some more progress

Can someone suggest me something about this, maybe there are companies that can help a lot, like selling a complete servers for service providers.

Second question is can I transmit by using servers about 5Mbps to downloaders ( the users should not notice it too much in the sense they should have enough bandwidth for other things , e.g. when someone has 30 Mbps for downloading) .

A:Service Provider

You want to look at companies that sell dedicated servers. Basically, you rent the server, put whatever applications you want on it, and they provide the data center and Tier I Internet connection. Optionally, you can go with a colocation provider. It's very similar, except you provide the servers, which you put in a partial rack (meaning you're buying rackmount servers) or cage at their data center. This does require you to be close to the data center, since they won't touch your servers for any reason unless you pay them (it's know as "remote hands"), and then only to reset, power cycle, or plug/unplug something. If you rent a server, it data center could be located anywhere in the world since you will only access it remotely.

The big cost is going to be bandwidth. IPTV is a very bandwidth-intensive service, and in either case, you pay for every data packet received or transmitted from the server. The total bandwidth required is equal the number of concurrent downloaders. If ten people are downloading at 5Mbps, you are feeding 50Mbps. If a hundred people are downloading at 5Mbps, you are feeding at 500Mbps.
