Online radio stations

Q: Online radio stations

I'm new to this forum, but not to computers. I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7 64bit, but when I open any online radio station and start to listen to music and attempt to minmize the radio web site and go somewhere else, the music will simply shut off, no error message or anything. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be?

Thanks,

Larry

Preferred Solution: Online radio stations

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Online radio stations

What do you mean by "go somewhere else"? Are you doing this in the same browser that is currently playing music? If so, have you opened a new tab fist?

Hey. I have a huge music collection on my computer, and usually I'm good at weeding out the bad downloads. However, for the past few days I've had these lovely fellows in my search results (they don't show up in the All Music list) in Windows Media Player. The only P2P program I use is LimeWire.Deleting them doesn't work. I tried to find the file, but it only gives a web address as a filepath.I've run HijackThis, Spybot Search & Destroy, Windows Defender, Ad-Aware, Yahoo Anti-Spy, and eTrust EZ Antivirus, and I have the Antivirus, Spybot SD Resident, and a firewall running, but none of this has solved the problem. I've had this problem before, but unfortunately, I don't remember how I solved it. I'm almost certain it wasn't with a spyware program. Any help would be VERY MUCH appreciated.- Erica

Have you tried searching C:<Documents And Settings<(The User on which limewire is on)<Shared? Thats the usual path for Limewire downloads.

I just bought an SSD and did a clean install.
When I try to play radio stations, as I always have, the commercial comes on, but nothing else.

I have tried three different radio stations to rule out any particular station problem.
(The stations are all local : KNX1070, ESPN, etc)

I can play any radio station on other computers as well.

When I boot, this picture comes up - don't know where it came from, but I think it is blocking entry.

I have asked others, but they have no problem, so it must be a setting, just don't know what.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

I just went to KNX radio and I can hear the videos on the site, just not the radio stream - really confusing.

I just joined the Bleeping community.... and found a description from December 2013 of the problem I am having now on my Dell Inspiron (Windows 7) laptop --- uninvited multiple radio stations seeming to play all the time (even after rebooting). The advice of technonymous was to run the Farbar recovery scan... and attach the files it generated. They are attached.

I hope someone can figure out from these files what is going on. It is maddening.

Hello -
Two days ago my PC started playing random radio stations at once and I can't seem to find any virus through Norton. I ran Malwarebytes which found nothing and I've tried 4 different Restore System points. The restore points give me an error message that it did not complete successfully. My system is Win 7 Home Premium, 32-bit.

As the PC is running right now Norton has quickly shown it has blocked a couple of attacks and I wasn't able to write the name down quick enough, but they stated the attacks were blocked.

The radio stations are running right now and slowing my system down.

Please let me know if I need to provide additional information and if you're able to help.

Thank you for your time.

I tried scanning my computer with Super antivirus, norton scan and Malaware but nothing comes up in the logs. When the radio starts to play, my screen seems to blink and then performance drastically reduces. Its very annoying to anything on the computer with such radio playing.I get a message from the Malware occassionally that it is trying to block svschost.exec through some port but it doesnt have any effect on the radio playing. I dont know if this is the cause but I clicked on an anonymous voice mail audio in my Google call inbox couple of days ago and the computer started to behave erratically since then. I am attaching the malware and dds scan logs.. let me know if anyone can help.

Hello Kirankamreddy I would like to welcome you to the Malware Removal section of the forum.Around here they call me Gringo and I will be glad to help you with your malware problems.Very Important --> Please read this post completely, I have spent my time to put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier, faster and smoother for both of us!Please do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the "Follow This Topic" Button, make sure that the "Receive notification" box is checked and that it is set to "Instantly" - This will send you an e-mail as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing us to resolve the issue faster.NOTE: Backup any files that cannot be replaced. Removing malware can be unpredictable and this step can save a lot of heartaches if things don't go as planed. You can put them on a CD/DVD, external drive or a pen drive, anywhere except on the computer.NOTE: It is good practice to copy and paste the instructions into notepad and print them in case it is necessary for you to go offline during the cleanup process. To open notepad, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. Please remember to copy the entire post so you do not miss any instructions. These are the programs I would like you to run next, if you have any problems with one of these just skip it and move on to the next one.-AdwCleaner-Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.Close all open programs and internet browsers.Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.Click on Delete.Confirm each time with Ok.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer. You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.-Junkware-Removal-Tool-Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications. On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message. When they are complete let me have the two reports and let me know how things are running.Gringo

So a few days ago, random radio stations started playing in the background, sounds like about 4 or 5 at the same time. First thing I did was restart thinking an ad was stuck in the background or something. After the reboot, it started again. I have Windows 7 Home Premium and ive tried updating and running my antivirus (Mcafee), malewarebytes, superantispyware, and a few other applications to find the source of this, although they found a few things, none of them have removed whatever is causing these stations to play. As soon as I boot up into windows, they start playing. Nothing else is open so im thinking its something getting loaded at startup and hiding itself everytime I run something to find it. I ran autoruns to try and see if I can locate any suspicious entries and manually remove them but I don't see what it could be. Can anybody help??

A:Randon Radio stations playing on computer - please help !

A quick google says that Tarma is software for writing installers for Windows software, so unless you are a software developer you don't need it. You seem to have got rid of it, but just in case it is still hiding on your system, here are instructions for uninstalling it :

http://blog.teesupport.com/how-to-uninstall-tarma-installer-tarma-installer-removal-tips/

I suspect the cause of your trouble is this anonymous audio link you clicked on- I don't suppose I need to tell you now not to click on any link or attachment if you don't know for certain who sent it to you, do I ?

Your simplest cure is to restore your computer to a restore point from before this trouble started, it's reasonably easy and straightforward :

Click in this order 'Start / Control panel / Recovery'. This opens the recovery window. Now click on 'Open System Restore'. This brings up a box called 'System Restore' and you are faced with two choices : 'Recommended restore' or 'Choose a different . . ' . If the recommended restore dates from before this trouble started go ahead and use it. If it doesn't, select 'Choose etc.' and pick the last one in the list you will be given that does date from before the start of your troubles. Then click on 'Restore' (or something like that) and let the system do it. This may take as much as 15 minutes. Wait till it is finished and it will either re-start your computer or tell you to re-start it. Re-start and you will probably have got rid of the problem.

If you still have these radio stations playing away, post back on BC but in the 'Am I infected' section with your MBAM log and say you did a restore, but don't bother attaching the log files unless you are asked to. It may take a day or two, but someone will get back to you.

Hello~

Is this possible?
Is it possible to listen to radio stations w/ my PC without having internet access?

I have tried to google this without any success.

Reason for this is that I'm just thinking of purchasing one of those mini-itx mobos (http://www.mini-itx.com/).

If possible, I'll need some software to listen & some piece of hardware to hook up the antenna.

A:Listening to radio stations w/o internet access?

If your computer will have USB ports, something like this might work:

I have been listening to radio stations on my Asus G50VT laptop since I bought it. I maintain updated drivers, and just finished windows upgrades. It has been a while since using it for listening to the radio, so I cannot be certain when this problem began. If I knew that, I would try a roll back or something.

I can watch two hours of netflix movies or long news videos with great sound without a single burp or pause.

But now, my radio stations play about five minutes then go silent for a minute or two. I assume it's buffering. It comes back on fine, but the radion station only plays about 60-80% of the time. Very annoying.

Is there a fix for this? Any suggestions where I should look for the problem?

* A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt
* Please post the contents of that document.

* List content of Hosts
* Flush DNS
* Report IE Proxy Settings
* Reset IE Proxy Settings
* Report FF Proxy Settings

A:[SOLVED] Can't play any streams of the Music Stations on Radio.com

Hi, and welcome to TSF.

I can't test from here as I'm in the UK, no coverage here but are you sure this is not a site issue? Do you know anyone else who uses the site or, if you have access to another computer, try to access the site from there.

Did you check to make sure nothing from the site is being blocked by your firewall?

Another place to look for any restrictions would be your hosts file. If you don't know how to check this, post back for instructions.

Do you have flash player installed and if so, is it up to date?

A:WinXP Pro When connected to the internet I hear several radio stations

I believe it's one of two things:

a. When you visit some webpages, their temporary Internet files include videos, etc on that page. Leaving that site or closing that Window does not necessarily eliminate the temporary Interne files on your system. Dumping your browser cache will eliminate these.

b. Possible malware.

Moving your topic to Am I Infected, since I don't want to assume that you are not.

I recently updated my version of Real Player (free edition) to Real Player Free V 14.0.1.609. After upgrading to this version, I am no longer able to connect to radio station live streams that had worked for me previously. I am running a Windows XP (SP3) Home edition computer with McAfee Security Center (Virus Scan V13.15; Personal Firewall v10.15; Security Center V9.15). I've tried the various 'fixes' that Real Player as on their web site, but so far no luck. I cannot get Real Player to run their own test links, (http://service.real.com/realplayer/test/) and their reerence to testing the connection speeds within the program preferences falls on its face since the "test conection" button is not available on the preferences/conection page within the options of real player.

I have also looked within McAfee settings and it shows Real Player having ful access to the internet.

Any ideas ?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you could help. My assisstant has been workign with Norton for the past 3 days and are still unable to fix this problem.

There is unwanted music randomly playing out the computer. No, it isnt a local radio station somehow getting through, it is an internet station, sometimes french, sometimes spanish.. sometimes home improvement. Anyway, we have done nothing to initiate this, it just starts.

I searched the internet and saw many topics, but thought I would ask here first.

Thank you in advance for your help.

A:Unwanted internet radio stations playing on computer?

Hi greauchene,

The first thing to do is to copy the web address of the offending site. Start IE and go to >Tools < Security > or Privacy < navigate to < Blocked Internet Site> enter the Internet radio website address.

Then go into Add/Remove Programs and see if the Internet radio program is listed and Uninstall.

A:Windows Media Player won't play radio stations

Open Media player Start > Programs > Windows Media Player

In the Tools menu click options. Under the file types tab make sure Audio Files, Windows Media file, Windows Media audio file, and Windows Media audio/video file are ticked, with a check on white. If it's a check on grey click it until it turns white. Hit OK.

If you use media player for playing everything it's OK to tick everything.

Hello and Welcome to Bleeping Computer!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your computer problems. I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the Watch Topic Button, select Immediate Notification, and click on Proceed. This will send you an e-mail as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing us to resolve the issue faster. NOTE: Backup any files that cannot be replaced. Removing malware can be unpredictable and this step can save a lot of hartaches if things don't go as planed. You can put them on a CD/DVD, external drive or a pen drive, anywhere except on the computer. NOTE: It is good practice to copy and paste the instructions into notepad and print them in case it is necessary for you to go offline during the cleanup process. Beware of listening to online radios stations.Malicious Javascript executed during downloading of songs could give you a big headache. MBAM did stopped a few for me.

A:Beware of listening to online radios stations.Malicious Javascript

Online radio stations are just websites in the end, so you should always use safe surfing practices, as with any other site, Bad Javascript has caused a lot of users to remove Java from their systems and avoid sites that still rely on it's use

Since installing Win 7 I can no longer listen to radio stations. When I click on the 'listen live now' button the sound just doesn't start. Youtube & MP3s etc work ok. What tweaking needs doing??

A:Cannot "listen live" to radio stations

Do you have (and have selected) Stereo Mix (could be called System Mixer)? Also are you using the correct Gigabyte supplied sound driver?

Stereo Mix is found in the Sound Panel/Recording Tab section. That would be the first place to start.

Hi, Not sure what forum to drop this in or even if there is a legal way round what I am going to ask.
I live in Greece so obviously have a greek internet provider my problem is that I would like to listen to live football commentries online, if I lived in the UK no problem but because of where I live the BBC website stops transmitting, they say it is contractual reasons or there is another problem. How do they where I am situated, apparantly they read the ISP addy, so is there a way around this and please don't tell me to move back to the UK lol!!!!

A:BBC Radio online

You should probably try using a proxy to see if you can get around it. Don't know if it will work though. The BBC is like that for everyone outside the UK and it's not unusual for other networks to do the same.

Hi,

I'm looking to do an online speach based radio station. Set a server up streem it out and put a password in it. So you open a url in Windows Media Player then it says password then you can listen. I know I will have to pay to play music but is there a rule where you can play like 20 seconds each song for free if not i'll stick the speach but I can't seem to find a good system out there for free. Also I would like it to be talk button so if i'm not pressing the button they cant hear me or something like a mute button.

Thanks.

You need a piece of "direct sound" recording software, as far as I know.

I hope you're not doing anything that may be construed as piracy? Techspot doesn't like piracy

Is that possible?
And, if it is, which program should be used?

There is one show ("Sold on song" with GMichael) that's online for just one or two days more and I wonder if I can get my hands on it somehow? It was broadcasted on radio so whoever wanted to record it from UK could? so I guess recording it (if possible) from the net isn't illegal?

I know? this can be rated as a pretty dumb question but when it comes to GM, I am not afraid to ask

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Im just sharing a few links to websites were you can listen to your local radio stations/music at.

First one is my favorite for radio stations:
radio.com

Second one is popular for listening to any music:
Playlist.com | Listen to Free Music Online - Free Music Streaming - Search music, find music, listen to music, & share music online

Third one is very simple, just type in what ever you want such as genre/artist. (Also available on Xbox360)
Listen to Free Personal Online Radio

Fourth and last one you have to sign up for, but it is worth it.
Pandora Radio - Listen to Free Internet Radio, Find New Music

Some of you may know some of these already but i just wanted to share them with the people who didn't.

Enjoy!

Hi

I tried VDJ and winamp and had a hell of a time getting it to stream, I did google a lot of pages and realised that there is a lot of things to tweak to get it working, follow this link, I admit I gave up in the end as it was more trouble than it was worth but i think I did once get it to work...just the once.

Oh and dont forget you have to open ports in your firewall and your router if you use one...

Installed a program that had this toolbar attached to it. Although I clicked NO under terms and agreements it still installed it.

It also installed "conduit safe search" or something like that.

It concerns me because under "Permissions" it says something along the lines of "All data on your computer".

I found it under Programs- Uninstall a program. Removed it. Gone from Control Panel but still present in Chrome.

The toolbar was producing various pop ups, got rid of that by removing extensions from Chrome.

Rolled back system to the earliest available restore point, didnt work, I can, however, see "Free ... Toolbar" and "Conduit Safe Search" in the Control Panel again, thus I know it is still present.

Hello I'm not sure if this is the correct sub heading for this question and if not please let me know and I can repost to another thread The issue I have is relating to internet connection I am currently renting a second floor appartment The internet is provided by the landlord who runs an office on the ground floor I assume he has installed a spliiter and the internet runs up through a cable into my flat There is also another user on the first floor flat I then just plug another cable from the wall into my / / with msn Poor webpages online probs no radio - on but Spotify internet connection laptop or via a router and connect wirelessly When using the internet to listen to the radio the connection is fine Service is continous and Poor internet connection on msn / webpages / Spotify - but no probs with online radio performance fine no interruptions or breaks in connection Both via cable and wireless However when I use msn messenger the internet connection is lost every few minutes Spotify also loses its connection every few Poor internet connection on msn / webpages / Spotify - but no probs with online radio minutes When browsing using Poor internet connection on msn / webpages / Spotify - but no probs with online radio Internet Explorer the speed is also very slow It takes a few seconds to 'think' about each new page and then can easily just crash after browsing a few pages Obviously it is driving me crazy I have spoken to the landlord who has contacted the service provider and they say there is nothing wrong My laptop was bought less than months ago and so is pretty new I dont have much else on there that would slow the machine down I am stuck as what to do next and not sure where to start looking first From my basic knowledge I would think that if the internet connection was poor or unreliable then this would affect the online radio as well as surely this requires a good download speed My laptop is also pretty new so I cannot understand if it this was a possible contributor I just want to be able to surf the internet for longer than a few minutes without it crashing Before I make some demands on the landlord or start saving for a new ipad I really need to know which direction to start investigating further I hope that the above explains a little and so if anyone can help with some tips advice I would be very grateful

Hello guys,

I am trying to map network drives to some stations.
Code:
NET USE * /DELETE /YES
net use * \\192.168.10.173\share1$ password /USER:PCNAME\USERNAME
net use * \\192.168.10.173\share2$ password /USER:PCNAME\USERNAME
pause
That code is in the startup.
Sometime it works fine but here and there people receives the dialog box that asks for a password. What did I do wrong?

Jumanji discovered an interesting bit and I thought others should be aware This might be old news to HDD TB and > 2 stations docking some I found one article to exemplify the issue but there are sure to be more While this article refers to TB drives the same caution applies to TB and greater drives Basically older docking stations do NOT have address translation for drives above HDD > 2 TB and docking stations TB - they can only access TB Problems arrise when data exceeds that limit and data is over written at the base address corrupting the drive nbsp nbsp Quote Originally Posted by PCworld Everything You Need to Know About TB Hard Drives PCWorld You can use the full capacity of a TB drive via USB--with a drive enclosure that supports it The SATA-to-USB bridge chip inside the enclosure takes care of any addressing issues This is why the first TB drive shipped last summer as an external model--a switch from the usual pattern of internal units shipping first Although you shouldn't have any issues attaching a prepackaged TB external drive you may have problems if you buy a TB internal drive and try to add it to a USB-connected enclosure yourself Read the fine print Many of the bare enclosures say they support TB but not all of them do On a seperate note I will be offline until I can arrange Internet connectivity I don't know when the cutoff will be but it is in the next few days - definitely by months end Bill

A:HDD > 2 TB and docking stations

I work out something for Internet connectivity. I thought it would be disconnected last Thursday, I was notified today that the service would end by close of business Tuesday.

I'll stop in when I'm near an open router (cafe, friends, library) but can't devote much time to issues. Once our monetary situation improves, I will contract with a provider.

Hi,
What is the best way to hook up photo viewing stations?
I want to show action photos & allow the people to view them individually.
All the pictures are loaded onto 1 computer & external hard drive.
We're looking for purchase a wifi uploader. However, I still can't figure out the viewing stations.
I have access to a whole bunch of old monitors but they're heavy & bulky. If I hook them up to 1 computer they'll just all show the same thing.
Any suggestions or help?? I thought of POS technology but google it & don't really know what I need.
I looked at a banquet table & figured I could put 1 computer on the end that would be an administrator computer & 3 on each side of the table. Please Help!!
Thanks,

If you need serial or parallell connectivity,I suggest using a port replicator.

We are looking for a docking station which is able to drive several digital monitors. At the moment we are using FHD displays, this woun't be a problem with any docking solutiion available. To be future proof we are looking for a solution which is able to run more than one monitor with 2K or 4K resolution. Lenovos "performance dock" is really expensive, but it's limited to a DP 1.2 uplink (two 4K only with 30Hz).There is an Thunderbolt 3 solution for connecting two 4K monitors using Display Port, but there's no USB/audio output on this device. Are there any advanced docking stations available? Is there a P50 owner with practical experience using TB3 docking solutions?

Hi

I'm looking for a way to scan for wifi in my area but I am using an external lan .. TP Link wireless G access point TL WA-500G. ( shows as Atheros AR8151 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20 in Control Panel Lan connection properties)

This links to my ISP via wifi and comes down the lan cable to my computer..
I have tried a Windows 7 Gadget Xirrus wi fi monitor as well as Network Stumbler.

Both report " unable to detect wi fi adapter"

Is there some program that will work for me.?

Setup is usual desktop unit pentium Dual core with 4 gig ram running windows 7 or win xp
( dual boot )

Thanks

A:Finding Wi-Fi stations with an outboard LAN

The device you are wired into, is a wireless access point/bridge. For all intents and purposes you are connected to a wired connection. As your current setup is, you will not be able to scan for wifi networks. You would need to have a wifi adapter in your desktop pc, either usb, pci, pci express, etc. From there you will be able to use programs to scan for other wifi networks that are within range. One of the best wireless adapter I have ever used is the Alfa AWUS036H [link here: http://www.data-alliance.net/servlet/-strse-73/Alfa-AWUS036H-1000mW-USB/Detail] it has an *** ton of power & can pull in even the weakest signal. Hope this helps, take care!

NT 4 based network not seeing 9x stations or HP jetdirect equiped printers. Only sees NT stations on Hood. 9x's see and print to all!

A:NT based network not seeing 9x stations

Greetings

Is it an NT4 DOMAIN? If so, are the Win95 machines actually logging onto the domain?

What protocols do you have on the network? Do you have just one, or do you have a few? Are all the protocol settings the same?

If you are using TCP/IP, can the nt machines ping the Win95 machines? if they type in \\{Win95 machine name} at the run command, does a window come up with all the shared folders on the Win95 machine?

Is File and print sharing enabled on all the win95 machines?

Cheers

Hi,
I have a question regarding dual-slot HDD docking stations, as I was thinking about purchasing one. I will be using it for both data transfer and cloning. I also own a copy of Acronis True Image 2014 Premium. My question is this, if I want to clone or transfer data from one drive to the other using Acronis True Image would it be faster with two single docking stations each with their own dedicated USB (to the computer) opposed to one dual-slot station which has to share it‘s USB cable for both simultaneously reading from and writing to the drives? Or is this not how it works; does the data simply transfer from one drive to the other without ever leaving the docking station?

A:Question Regarding Dual-Docking HDD Stations

?? I think you're right ?? .. But there are "docking stations" with stand alone cloning that should be faster .. Here's one
Unless you're doing this all day .. is the extra speed really that much of an advantage ??
I think I'd trust Acronis 2014 for the Cloning/Imaging especially if making a SSD .. and would get a couple of Single enclosures or stations for the speed/versatility ..

Here Goes...

I have been asked to put together a network of around 65 computers + 4 imacs. I have chosen the client/server based network. (M$ network)
Altogether there are...

02x NT4 PDC's (WINS/DHCP/DNS/IIS/PRINT/RAS)
02x NT4 BDC's (WINS/DNS/PRINT/RAS)
01x NT4 Standalone (MAIL/EXCHANGE/RAS)
(all run SP6a)

30x W98 SP1 (NET/INTERNET ACCESS) (HI-SPEC)
30x W95 SP1 (NET/INTERNET ACCESS) (LOW-SPEC)

The problem is that i cannot get 90% of the w95 terminals to logon to the domain server. I have looked at each terminal individually and still cannot figure out what’s going wrong.

I have checked and compared the configuration of the w95 terminals that work and that don’t and the only difference is that one is better than the other. Can Anyone Shed Some Light On My PROB

P.S I have checked and all of the NIC's and other hardware is functioning normally.

Can anyone help me with how to make it so that these systems can connect at the same??

Hi,

I was trying to contact you through AIMs to add this info but it was too late coz u signed off already .

on a computer directly connected to the router, do an ipconfig /all, you should see the Default Gateway address. I believe this is the address you would use to access your router firmware.

For some time now this has been a quite a good source of income for many repair shops, but what do you think about the future of this? What is the current tendency of hardware manufacturing these days? Have they learned their lessons in heat management?

Im asking because i was thinking about buying myself Jovy infrared station since i have some cash to spend, but what do you think about the future of this line of work? Currently it seems that only certain models from HP(Dv6000 and similar), Acer and some Asus suffer from these problems.

Is this something that will stay with us, or was it just a short mistake of a small period in these lines of laptop models?

Hi everyone,
I just purchase one laptop for a user that has two offices in different locations.
The two locations are on the same domain but have a different ip scheme, example; location A 192.168.40.xx and location B 192.168.50.xx, our network admin has set the network to be static, my problem really is, how can i set up one docking station to use one ip scheme and the other docking station to us another ip scheme, both docking stations are identical. I've set up a test environment with both docks next to each other and both on the network, every time I dock it uses the first ip I had assigned to the first docking station, even worse, when I un-dock and use the nic on the laptop it will still use the same ip, can I create different local area connections for each nic????
laptop:
dell e6420
docking station:
e-port plus port replicator

any input will be greatly appreciated

A:two different ip schemes, two docking stations, ONE laptop

Hello,

Assign multiple static addresses on the docking station/NIC for both networks.

You will also need to add multiple default gateways.

A better way of doing this would be to enable DHCP on the networks. - This is upto your system admin though.

I have a z61t that I am trying to convert into a pfsense firewall. In order to do so I need to have 2 NICs. I am thinking about buying one of the docking stations that was designed for this laptop, but I want to know how the dock's ethernet port works. Is it a seperate NIC from the one built into the laptop? If so, is it the same NIC that is built in (the broadcom netxtreme)? Or does it just splice into the ethernet port built in (one NIC with two ports)? In order for the dock dock to work for my application, it would have to be the former. Thanks in advanced for the help!

I have three internet radios in the house, apart from the pc's and laptops, one a Logitech Squeezebox, one a Pure Flow, one on my Onkyo AV receiver. Neither can connect to or play the same stations. I thought this must be some player software or broadcast issue except that every now and again the stations switch. Stations that are obtainable on one radio suddenly don't play but magically appear on the others. For example, at the moment, Radio City Helsinki can be played on two radios but not the other one. A couple of weeks ago, it was the other way around. I now have a problem playing any BBC radio channels on one while they are still available on the other two. Can anybody explain what's going on here?

Hard Drive Docking stations - are they safe for your hard drive?
Surely the 'handling' of the hard drive is not, good for the hard drive??
Doesn't is have many sensitive parts that should not be handled?

Is it OK to have one of these instead of a hard drive enclosure?

The great thing is that you can just pull one hard drive out and put another in!

Any replies would be great

Hi there

If this is FREEVIEW (Digital Terrestial TV) all the channels (or at least a lot of them) changed YESTERDAY Wed 03 Sept.

You might want to re-load / re-install and start the whole Channel tuning stuff again . For instance SKY NEWS is now on I think Channel 132 and not 82 like it used to be.

Analog TV I don't think is available any more regions in the UK (and in a lot of Europe too) so if you were using that it might have been switched off in your region recently - I'm sure there aren't any Analog TV regions in UK any more.

Another suggestion - if you want BBC TV why not use on the Internet the BBC iPlayer - if your broadband is fine you can get it at HD quality too.

Cheers

Can this be done?
