Preferred Solution: Adobe flash player not working properly in IE9 and Firefox.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have Vista 64 bit sytem, SVSP 1, with 6 gig Ram, 67 Gig Free Hard Disk Space, IE 9.
I tried to install the most current version of Adobe Flash Player 11.
I downloaded from Adobe Website. I initiated the installation. Received a message after installation....Installation Successful.
Then I went on the internet to view a video. Immediately, received message: Must have Adobe Flash Player 6.0 or higher.

I have done the reinstallation a number of times with (supposed) successful installation...but it is apparant that the installations are actually failed installations.

What is my next step?:
Thanks

A:Can Not get Adobe Flash Player to Install Properly

Are you using the 32-bit version of IE? The 64-bit version doesn't support Flash.

If I did lower the activex prompts in internet options, it just hangs at the installing screen after I click install. What is this all about?

Is there something that specifically uses flash that I could test to see if it is working, to isolate if it is just gametrailers videos?

For instance, I can play videos on youtube.

A:Adobe flash player will not install properly, having issues

Just a suggestion, but a concise explanation of the issue at hand gets more response than links to two other forums to read through...

What version of IE? In IE6, click tools, manage add-ons. If flash player is present and not disabled, you might uninstall all versions of flash player in add-remove programs, repair the IE installation, clear all temp files and cookies with Cleanup! (backup first, or run demo mode first...) or another such application, reboot, and try the Flash installation with activeX blocking, AV and firewall disabled.

Some other active process may also be interfering...a clean boot might be a thought.

My Adobe flash player updated to 11, and now it won't display properly:

I've tried to go back to flash player 9 and it won't play because it says it needs an update.
I can't find a proper installer for 10 ,what can I do?

Hey everyone,

I am having trouble running Adobe Flash Player with Firefox. I can download, but when I double-click the item to run it I get no response. I keep getting stuck on step 2 of 3.

I'm having the same trouble with IE. Chrome already comes with Flash Player in it, so it won't let me manually download it either.

Solutions anyone?

This started a year or so ago something about Firefox blocking Adobe Flash Player because of a security problem is what I think the explanation was.

All this time later it is still happening surely there must be a fix by now?

There is an option that shows up to accept the process but it doesn't work just continues to block?

A:Download Adobe Flash Player for Firefox or IE

Yes, the file that ends in "_ax" is for internet explorer. The other is for Firefox. For example, the release from April for I.E. is called "install_flash_player_ax.exe"

Flash player installed on IE with no problems, but I use Firefox and cannot get it to install. I click on the install and the box come up to "save file" or "Cancel" I select "save file" and it just sits in the downloads box doing nothing. I double click on it and a message comes up that Firefox needs to be closed to continue. I close Firefox and still nothing happens.
Any suggestion??

ot the latest versions of flash player plugin and latest Firefox installed on a Windows 7 32-bit system.

After running the browser for awhile the flash player crashes in Firefox. I have tried uninstalling/installing Flash player and Firefox. I also tried installing older version of Flash player. Nothing seems to work. Flash works fine in Chrome and IE.

A:Adobe Flash Player crashes in Firefox!!!!

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these: disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

A:flash player not working properly

sometimes the "it is being used by another person or program" error can be fixed by simply unplugging the cpu fron ac power source for a couple of minutes, then hooking up the power & restarting...this clears out some sort of cache that will release the resource...not very technical, I know, but worth a try

maybe then you could delete the flash9.ocx file and try the other fix

I am using Vista Home Basic and although it appears that I have installed Adobe Flash Player, whenever I access something that needs this, I get the message Adobe Flash Player needs to be installed. I have tried un-installing then re-installing but still the message appears that it needs to be installed.

I feel I should be able to use the Flash Player on Vista Home Basic, so would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can get this to work.

Thanks.

Good Day, Thanks in advance for any help and time with this problem.
Windows 7 HP SP1 64bit, Firefox 36.0, Flash 32 bit.

I have been having problems with Adobe Flash Player, It started with problems
in my Firefox 36.0 browser, Flash would hang saying "plugin" had stopped "cancel or Keep Trying"
if I cancel, browser continues to work, but if I try to run the plugin it freezes Firefox.

I have uninstalled Flash Player and Firefox and reinstalled but this did nothing to help.
Now it seems Flash player won't even work. As well, I have tried both 32 bit and 64 bit versions, which should I be using?

Thanks

A:Adobe flash player installing but not working?

You might not have it enabled as an Active X Object in IE:

Open Internet Explorer> Tools> Manage Add-ons> on the site below, note the entry 'Shockwave Flash Object' by Adobe> find that on your screen> click to highlight> then click on Enable> OK

http://browsers.about.com/od/internetexplorertutorials/ss/manageie7addons_5.htm

NOTE: there are 2 sections for the dialog box t the top: 1. Add-ons currently loaded in Internet Explorer and 2. Add-ons previously used. IF you don't find it in 'Current" click on the arrow point to the right of the box and change to 'previous'.

See if that makes a difference. You might need to reboot after making the setting change.

Not sure if I even have this in the correct thread. ( bear with me, in time, I will learn the site better...I have been on for 4 hours tonight and am just completly lost, as this site is new to me

I use FireFox and IE ( I think "7") on a Dell laptop with Vista.

Flash content when I am useing "IE" seems to be fine.

But if I am using FireFox, and go to site with a lot of flash content , it keeps asking me to download Adobe Flash.....I have done this so many times,!!!!
but its not working.

There is probably a simple answer, but I can not find it.

Thanks in advance!

When I am on the computer reading something like the news in yahoo, I receive the message above, Adobe Flash Player 18.0 r0 has stopped working. Then it asks if I want to continue or if I want to close the program. The program closes and my computer crashes.

What should I do?

A:Youtube not working with IE8 and Firefox even if updated Adobe flash/

Try turning off hardware acceleration in the Flash Player, as that can sometimes resolve issues with Flash videos not playing.

Right-click in the black video window
click "Settings",
select the Display tab and UNtick ?Enable hardware acceleration"

I installed the newest version of Flash Player 11 and I am encountering video problems while on the Firefox browser. My Firefox browser is the most recent version on my computer. My videos graphics keep crashing when I try to use it.
Please help. Thanks.

A:Flash Player 11 not working with Firefox browser

Did you update Flash using the IE version, the non-IE version or both?

What happens when the videos crash? Do you get artifacts in the video window, does Firefox become unresponsive or does it shut down the tab?

Update your graphics driver to the latest version, the reboot.

Every website I go to is accusing me of not having Flash Player 8. I click -install missing plugin- it tells me it failed.

It sends me to the adobe site to manually install, I download what it says there, nothing happens.

IE is working perfectly fine with it, but I can't get firefox to work, no youtube no dailyshow.

How can I make firefox find it?
I appreciate any help, thanks.

A:[SOLVED] Flash player is not working for my Firefox

Hey did you download the installer (a .exe file), if you did then find it and double click it, it should install(you'll have to have firefox closed) and then work fine...

Is it every site?
(Youtube etc also don't like you having javascript disabled).

Is flash player in your addons? (Goto Tools->Add-Ons->Plugins tab and look for "Shockwave Flash")

We have IE Say a user goes to MSN com The ad on the right is a Flash object Some of our users will see that object flickering when scrolling up or down on the page or when hovering their mouse over it It's quite annoying Almost all users are running Adobe Flash Player but I think I've seen this happen on systems with Macromedia Flash Player as well Other systems don't have the problem I've seen this happen on one system and not another while both seemed to have the same Flash objects installed Uninstalling all Flash players using Adobe's prescribed Flash Player uninstall tool seems to work at first but users later complain again Note that they just about always end up installing Flash Player again because sites ask for it I don't believe I've seen Adobe Object 9.0.28.0) Flash V. Player (shockwave 9 Using Flash R28 Ie Flickering Flash - Objects - Activex 6 this on any XP systems at all including my own but most of our users have Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0) Win K Does anybody know why this happens or how to permanently fix it Thanks Hotshot

A:Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0)

More info: Adobe Flash Player 9, Macromedia Flash Player 8, and Macromedia Flash Player 10 all produce the same result--Flash objects that flicker when you put your mouse over any part of them. Moving Flash objects will flicker constantly while moving and stop flickering when the animation is done. SWF files (at least the one at www.stormwerks.com/linked/stuf/AYB2.swf) work without a problem when using Adobe Flash Player 9.

If I don't have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed, the Win2K machines prompt me to install them for almost any site that uses Flash (I guess most recent Flash objects cannot be viewed with the older Macromedia Flash Players).

Any suggestions?

Adobe Flash Player has several variants for different operating systems and browsers and is now on version 11.9.  The active-x variant is used with Windows Internet Explorer.  There is another Windows variant for plugin based browsers, such as Firefox.  There are variants for Mac OS X and Linux, although the last version produced for Linux was 11.2.

A:Adobe Flash uninstall tool,& is there a better/safer flash player w/o the hassles?

The flash player for IE and Firefox is in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. The IE one is called Flash9f.ocx and for Firefox its NPSWF32.dll.

You can view current version, by going to a page with a flash object on the web page, right click on the Flash object and select About Adobe Flash Player 9 and it will take you to Adobe site and display version.
You can also get version from the files about on the Version or Details tab of its properties.

As for removal, just either use the Uninstall tool in the same folder (See above) or delete all the files in the folder to remove it.

I've tried just about everything:

Uninstalling flash, running a registry cleaner, and reinstalling it...nothing.

I've messed with the regedit permissions...nothing.

I've set Internet Explorer's security to the lowest possible setting ans tried reinstalling IT...more nothing.

I've installed Flash, checked that it was working on Adobe's own site which it was, but then jumped over to Jib Jab, and again, nothing.

Just a few minutes ago while reading another post here at BC, I discovered I had to install Adobe Flash player to view an article thru YouTube.
My question is how does flash differ from the pdf viewer? They're both an Adobe thing, right?

I opted to download a small viewer called Sumatra,by the way.

I can't seem to install Adobe Flash Player or ActiveX.
I was able to download the .exe file using Firefox but couldn't do it when I was using Internet Explorer.
So I obviously isntalled Adobe but I don't think it's properly working. The next thing I would like to do is upgrade my computer because I have no service pack but I don't have ActiveX. I can't seem to find any site that uses it so that I get the prompt to download it.

Will ActiveX come with Adobe, or is ActiveX from Microsoft?
If no, then how can I download ActiveX and Adobe?

Enable scripts in your firewall settings, internet options, browser options, security software, etc. Even with Flash Player correctly installed and tested, it won't work if you have javascript disabled.

I have recently installed the newest version of flash player and it said the installation was complete. I can get video, but no audio. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times and it still doesn't work. I have also made all the recommended settings under internet options. I am using Internet Explorer 7. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Adobe Flash Player

You can get video but not audio, what about normal sounds in your computer?? Is it just the website/video or the computer itself doesn't release any sounds?

Have you tried checking the speakers?

If still no sounds, try going to control panel > audio > see if the settings are active and not on mute.

Try also checking control panel > system properties > hardware > device manager > audio devices > see if the drivers are installed properly, no !, ?, X marks.

Hello, I need some help with my plugin for Adobe Flash Player. I went onto a website called www.explosm.net and went to comic 1217, to watch the Spartacus film, it didn't load, and in the corner came up a square with a triangle, circle and square. At the bottom of the page, it said, "Not loading? Get the plugin!" So I clicked on the link and downloaded the Adobe Flash Player. After, I went into IE and found that my favourites changed to the ones from my Dad's name, but the plugin worked. After, I closed IE and opened it again, to find my favourites were mine again, but the plugin didn't work, WHAT DO I DO?

A:Adobe Flash Player.

Always, always, always download plugins from only the publisher's website. If you did not download Adobe Flash Player from adobe.com, do a System Restore to the restore point created when you installed the new plugin, or prior to installing the plugin. Then go to adobe.com to download the Flash Player. The plugin for Internet Explorer should be automatically installed.

Hiya.

Are you using Google Chrome by any chance? It has it's own integration, I call it a frustration, but Adobe call it a security issue.

Try a stand-alone installer, visit THIS LINK from a different browser.

Not that I know of. There are some other players for flash like SWF Opener but you need the IE Flash plugin installed for it to work so your still have the very same security issues.

Hello.

I installed the latest adobe Flash player, but only on one site www.omegle.com the item setting is not active. But it works when I decrease the size of page when I have zoom 150% it does not work neither IE nor Google chrome, when I reduce it to 125% it is ok - the word setting is now active. Why it is so? When I had previus version of Flash player, it worked whatever the size was on both IE and chrome.

So, I can not get to the offer allow or deny, but only on omegle site. It Works well with other sites.
I have Windows 7, 64 bit.

This is the most current version of Adobe Flash Player:

http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/

Download it and save it for now.

Go into Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and uninstall any older version listed there. It may be listed as:

Adobe Flash Player ActiveX

Shockwave Flash Player (Shockwave Player is a different program, so don't uninstall it.)

After any older version has been uninstalled, install the current version.

Hello everyone, I am new to this site, a friend at work said you all saved her computers life, so I am hoping you can save mine as well. Several weeks ago I got a virus on my desktop home computer, a friend from work cleaned up my computer, removed the virus, I thought all was well. Since then I cannot listen to any music, actually have no sound at all, cannot upload/download any of my pictures and cannot play any games. When I do try any of the above I get the message, you must upload Adobe Flash Player. I went to control panel, it is already installed. I uninstalled it, tried to reinstall it, but am getting the same message, I am at my wits end, what else can I do?

I have a small but annoying problem I have Adobe Flash Player 10 installed in my pc and about 3 or 4 times a week, I get a box up on my screen with a message which reads something like,

" there is a script error running in Adobe Flasher Player that will cause your script to run slow and your pc may become unresponsive .. do you wish to abort the script."

I then tick the yes box and it goes away.

My question is ... is this a problem and if so how do I cure it.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Adobe but the problem stil persists.

Hello, I'm having a problem with a certain program made to be run by Flash.
It's just a white screen, when I right click it, it shows, "Movie not loaded". I tried this program on a Windows 7 Starter laptop, and the program worked fine.

Now my question is, how do I solve this?
It seems that I need to update my Flash from 11.3.300.265 to 11.5.502.110, but the problem is, when I download a standalone updater, it shows me this:

Thanks in advance. :D

A:Adobe Flash Player 11.5

Hello Xian,

I'm not sure why the Flash movie won't run for you.

Flash updates are now handled by Microsoft through regular Windows updates. As far as I know, that's the only way to update Flash in Windows 8. You'll have to wait until Microsoft releases an update.
